Overall it looks peaceful today, for the past couple of hours weve been hearing battle royal coming from the center of town. According it our sources, the isis terrorists have taken the center of town over today, but according to the combat we are hearing from there, the fight is still on. Also, we have been told that isis is basically controlling a Border Crossing between kobani and turkey. That is very bad for kurds. That is the only way to get casualties and civilians out as well as reinforcements and resupply in. The terrorists are making these moves despite that increase of air activity. Since monday we count 32 u. S. Air strikes against isis in and around kobani. That compares to the week before where there was only five. There is concern here that all this is coming a little bit too late. Here in turkey is another tense night. While local politicians tell the folks to cool down, ethnic kurds are flashing security here. Theres been over 30 People Killed this week. Theyre angry about turkey not intervening in kobani, and that topic certainly jamming up meeting between general john allen, the head of the u. S. Led antiisis campaign, and assistant secretary of state brett magerk. They were meeting turkish officials. A line coming out of the end meeting with them, there is there will be a deepening of bilateral consultations. Wanted to get the wording right. Both the combatants, certainly isis and for turkey, its unlikely that turkey is going to get into this. Number two, isis is using this as a primary distraction. They have now essentially seized all of whats going on in place where i spent so many of my months over there in anwar province threatening the western approaches into baghdad, and so i look at this as a side show even though its the most visible thing we have because weve got cameras there. All right. I want to get to the baghdad situation in just a moment, but i know that you were able to get your hands on a certain photograph. What does this photo show us . This summarizes the whole problem for the turkish president. This is a turkish soldier, likely not a kurd. Probably brought from the interior units that are not or less kurdish, at least. Most of the turkish army is kurdish, but theyve got units from the western part of eastern part of the country that are not. This is a turkish soldier essentially highfiving it with an isis antiaircraft unit in kobani. What you are looking at is the reality of the problem for the turkish president and those in the United States government trying to get him into it. We cannot authenticate that photo, but it was sent to you by somebody there on the ground. I want to move back to the baghdad situation. Sure. Because apparently isis only eight miles from the suburbs now moving into baghdad. What would that mean . Well, it would mean that the u. S. Embassy is likely to come under fire. The green zone is likely to come under fire. Baghdad international airport, which is the only real airport weve got use of right now because theyre threatening all of the aircraft facilities that are west of baghdad. Youve got most of the u. S. Presence right there in baghdad itself and the Baghdad International airport. Both of which are going to be vulnerable to interact fire if they simply move another few hundred yards. They can bring the artillery in. It will be american artillery fired by isis at americans. All right. I want to move on to someplace a little bit closer to the United States. Cuba and guantanamo bay. There is word now that the white house is putting together some sort of a draft for the president maybe to issue an executive order to once and for all close gitmo. Your thoughts . What do you know . Thats right. Basically theres a document thats in here, and i have the email in front of me right now, and its an email that comes from someone inside the white house forwarding what looks like a news memo to a. P. Staffer. Apparently olbermann talked to president clinton apologizing for whatever part i may have played in perpetuating this creaseless coverage of the lewinsky story. Then ma email goes on to say from a staffer that he may be going back to sports coverage. He has talked about that. This was after 1998. What do very make of that . Its all really interesting. I think this is kind of what you get from a lot of these documents. There may not necessarily be one explosive bombshell that is going to make waves or release something that everybody didnt know about, but there are a lot of details to so many of these stories that a lot of people remember or have heard of that were controversial during the clinton presidency, and afterwards we get the details through these documents that we didnt know before. Like you said, its 10,000 documents. Just to give you an idea of some of the things that are in there, theres seven different parts on white water alone. There are sections on vince foster, Hillary Clintons senate campaign, and one section i was skimming through about what was known as travel gate, and that section alone had only 167 pages within it. I think a lot of what we see coming out of it are just really interesting details that we really didnt know before. All right. Let me ask you this. Many people believe that Hillary Clinton is running for president. Does any of this affect her campaign if she decides to run, and should it . You know, im not sure. I dont think i wouldnt expect there to be any particular bombshell that would maybe derail or uproot her campaign, but i do think theres been some information in here that could have an impact on it, and i think a lot of the reporting that some of my colleagues at the are free beacon have done is evidence of that. There is a lot of information about the clinton that is we didnt know before, and there are still documents and new information to be found and to be reported on, and i think thats kind of the thing that you can remember with any of these documents. Just that theres still information out there that maybe we dont know, and maybe information that is going to be valuable to potential voters in 2016. You have to remember the youngest voters in 2016 are going to be born in 1998. Theres a lot of information that if Hillary Clinton is the president ial nominee in 2016 and right now shes the most formidable challenger that actually does need to be taken into account and reviewed and kind of reported on and looked into further. A portland man getting widespread attention after sending an email to his boss, the ceo of Wells Fargo Bank and copying not just one person, but 200,000 of his fellow Bank Employees on an email. Reading, in part, my estimate is that wells fargo has roughly around 300,000 employees. My proposal is to take 3 billion, just a small fraction of what wells fargo pulls in annually, and raise every employees annual salary by 10,000. This equates to an hourry raise of 4. 71 an hour. Funny you have written that up because a spokesperson for wells fargo has only sent out an email saying the firm offers competitive pay, benefits, and development opportunities, and she they support and value every team member. They said they were on vacation from last week. Was this the right move for him to do . I understand. Look, ask for a raise, but it was dumb, it was passive aggressive. Look, normally when you want to get a ceo to treat its employees better, you sent three goats on christmas eve, right . You know, this is going to be one Awkward Office christmas party. We are, gretchen, and, unfortunately, its very disturbing what were learning. The family of Thomas Eric Duncan who continues to be in isolation and thankfully not showing symptoms at this point released his medical records his temperature spiked to 103 degrees. Whoever was taking down his records put an exclamation point beside it. The hospital also was told that he had just come in from liberia. Yet, nobody connected those two dots. A very big ball was dropped. He was sent home after that visit. That incident was front and center today at the Homeland Security committee hearing. House Homeland Security Committee Chairman saying the nation cant afford to repeat the mistakes that happened that night. Heres what he said. We must learn from these missteps and insure that proper procedures are established and followed should another case arrive in the United States. Now, there was also skepticism expressed at that hearing as to whether or not the screenings at five airports which begin on sunday which begin, rather, saturday, tomorrow, at j. F. K. Obviously a lot of anxiety here in the United States, but also elsewhere in madrid, spain. Seven more people have gone into isolation because they had contact with theresa romero, the nurse who contracted ebola after treating a missionary who had returned from west africa to spain for treatment. She is said to be desperately ill. None of them showing symptoms at this point. Dr. Kent brantley, youll remember him, he was the missionary medical missionary from samaritans first, the very First American doctor to contract ebola and survive. He spoke in abilene krern university today. He said his heart goes out to anyone who has had contact with his disease. I want to tell you all that ebola is serious. Its real. Its a terrible, terrible disease for those who have it. For those who are close to them. We are understanding from press release from the Nebraska Medical Center that the nbc cameraman who was recently medevaced back from west africa with ebola is showing some slight signs of improvement. He is thirsty. He is asking for something to drink, and his father is cautiously optimistic, gretchen, that he is going to pull through this. Well see. Wow. Great news on that front. Again, i think our First Response is always prayer. I really do. I think our First Response is to say, god, we need some help. This is a problem bigger than we are able to solve. We dont have the wisdom for it. There is a tendency to say that prayer is something that is a last resort. If we could lead off as people with prayer, i believe we would place ourselves in a posture of peace from which we can make better decisions, and i believe from which we receive super natural assistance. Thats so insightful because we do often go to prayer as a last resort. Now, in your book before amen, is it true you are a selfprofessed prayer wimp. You are a wimp when it comes to prayer . How could that be . Ive always struggled with prayer. Why . Ive always admired people who get prayer. I never felt like i prayed enough. I wondered if i prayed right . Did i pray long enough . As i have been around, i realized im not alone. I took the prayers of the bible, and i reduced them down to one prayer, and for years ive used this one single prayer to guide my thoughts when i pray, and as ive shared it, people like this idea, and so i have made the book about it. Many vets told us they refused to talk about their service for decades. They were afraid of the reaction they would get. It kind of plugs a hole in my soul there that theres some recognition that this contempt army is doing the same thing for us that they do for their own returning troops.
