Someone who is working very hard to keep donald trump in the white house, laura trump and she joins us exclusively tonight. Its so great to see you. Thanks for joining us. What to make of the fact of this incredible result which the whole country should be able to come behind and celebrate, just to the campaign on other side. I have never been on your show before. As a family, campaign we were very happy to really get to over with. For years now we have been saying there was no collusion with russia. Were now seeing finally come to light our campaign was run well. E would be so happy all across this country that we finally can say donald trump is the legitimate president. There is no question. Sadly, you did see some Television Show host crying, people upset, i mean what they really have wanted a president working with russia . I dont know but obviously we are very thrilled to have it behind us. I think its time for the country to move on. You think we can all agree with that. It doesnt seem to be much chance of it. Looking ahead in 2020, what role do you think all of this will play in the election next year . I hope it actually doesnt play a role because what we want to focus on from the Campaign Perspective is all the great stuff that this president has done for this country. Even two and half years, this president has done more than his predecessors. In many times into terms in office, you look at the booming economy in this country, you look at the lowest unemployment, in some cases in the history of this country. You look at the fact that we have manufacturing jobs pouring back to this country by the hundreds of thousands, something that this president s predecessors said that you would have to have a magic wand to see happen. You look at gdp and wages, thats what were running on in 2020. I always say the president is doing all the hard work at the campaign because he is doing such a great job leading this country as our president. Quite frankly, i dont know why we would want to focus on any of this nonsense, thats all it is, thats all its been from the beginning. People that were upset that Hillary Clinton didnt win, still cant get over the results of the 20 sexting election trying to implement some sort of change, trying to get rid of this president and its disgusting that it had to happen. As donald trump, as our president said, he hopes to see this happen to no one else. This is crazy. This is not the way things should function in the United States of america. I totally agree with you. I picks up on something, that they want to focus on scandal while the president and his team just want to focus on the substance and what actually matter to real people in the real life. I want to pick up on one of those areas thats going to be crucial. It was a big story this week which is healthcare. We heard the news that the administration gets behind trying to have obamacare overturned, the president promising the republicans will be departing great healthcare. How do you see that moving forward. When do you think we might see a plan emerge and again, how is that really going to play a part in the 2020 campaign. Listen, we know obamacare is a complete and total disaster. This president has been saying it since the campaign in 2016 that he wanted to fix healthcare. Its not working for the people of this country. Thats the bottom line. I think its something hes working on every day. Hes already working on it right now. He wants to come up with a plan that is so great for people. I know hes not gonna come up with a halfhearted plan. Its going to be something so good, he wants to own it and listen, i think people in this country care about it. You look at the other side of the coin, you look at the democrats that have now gotten into the race, medicare for all, how are we paying for that as a country . You look at countries like canada who have a system similar to that. These people are flocking to america to get surgeries done, to get medical procedures done because it really is not the way you want to see healthcare done. I think we need to give people a very clear alternative to that and i know the president is working hard. Its probably his next big focus. I think you are exactly right. That choice will be such a big part. Looking at the democratic field, talking about some of those characters that we are seeing emerge, one of the things obviously with huge factor with then candidate donald trump in 2016 that really gave some of us a clue that Something Special was happening was of course the crowds he attracted. If you look at the other side, thats not really happening with one exception, ive been very tough with him on the show. He does seem to be getting crowds going. What you make of that. Not a whole lot. Hes a great skateboarder and we know that im sure hes very fun and cool to go see, but listen, you really cannot compete with the crowds that this president draws. We are getting rsvps by the hundreds of thousands of people to these rallies. Its crazy, people start mining up 24 hours in advance. We dont worry about them or anybody else. He seems to me to it be a little bit of a flash in the pan, people are excited about him now, but what is he offering. I really dont know what hes running on, or quite frankly, other than socialism, what are a lot of these democrat candidates running on. Theyre going to reverse all the great things weve seen happen in this country under this president. We dont worry about that. I dont make a whole lot but i think those crowds will start to dribble out after not too long. I totally agree with you about him. To me hes one of the worst. Im not rude about all of the candidates, i dont make a habit of it but him in particular, theres something about him. Okay. I will leave it there before i get into trouble. Laura trump, thank you for joining us. I hope you will come back to make absolutely, lets bring in our guest for the hour. Turning point usa founder charlie kurt and Fox News Contributor emily. Where do you want to start. Lets start with the taxpayerfunded attempted hit job against the duly and fairly elected president s. Its one of the greatest disgraces and history that he had a go through this. It was a tactic. Nothing more than just weigh the narrative for the democrats to reclaim the house and possibly the senate. There were hundreds of thousands of articles written online about a total hoax, something that started with a dossier that was funded by an opposition Political Party. This of course, we are happy that he got vindicated, but vindicated for alive should not be a celebration. That celebration should have never happened in the first place. Its been an exhausting two years. They wanted to separate the family and divide the allies around the president. He stronger because of it but its a disgrace that this happened in the first place. I think one of the things that happened, we can attack the media and should do for making a terrible live. The entire content of cnn is being driven based on a lie for years, but theres something thats actually frightening to me in all of this and thats the role of these deep state players. People like brennan and klapper, and that says something really that we should all be worried about in terms of the institutions of the country playing such a nakedly partisan role. For there to be any type of reassurance for all of these institutions and for the deep state, there needs to be in accountability. Theres needs to be reckoning. Were not seeing it from any of the players on the left to say heres why was wrong, heres why i was misled, i admit, acknowledge, theres no none of that. Its pushed to the side for the more dramatic approaches. I want to point out the fact that for all of the vilification happening, i had a lot of faith in him that he will restore our faith into the d. O. J. If they can come and they will recover from this, but it take a strong leader like him. We are already seeing from the left and attack on his credibility when, up until this entire time, he did represent something that had bipartisan support. He glided through both houses in 1991, it was a little bit tougher this time around, but ultimately people have faith in him. Now thats been eroded simply because people are hiding behind the flags that they wave. Just time for one last point. I want to get you on the healthcare question which is President Trump promising this week the republicans are going to be the party of great health. Im thrilled that obamacare finally might get struck down which i think is long overdue, but it also puts the burden of solutions on the Republican Party and trumps party. Its a great thing because hes done everything he said he was going to do and hes the keeper promises. When he said hes going to put forth healthcare reform, the American People can rest assured hes going to deliver it as soon as possible whether nancy pelosi will bring it to a vote or not remains to be seen. Marketbased healthcare remains to be seen. Obamacare made Healthcare System worse. Input costs up for everyone. I agree. I believe this is going happen, coming up, why america needed an outsider president. We have the best person to explain that tonight. The author of the case for trump. He joined us next. Fact is, there are over ninetysix hundred roads named park in the u. S. Its americas most popular street name. But no matter what park you live on, one of 10,000 local allstate agents knows yours. Now that you know the truth, are you in good hands . Welcome back, every single day we see the establishment in this country continue relentlessly, their campaign of condescension and hate against President Trump and his supporters. Nothing, literally nothing, not the facts about economic success reform policy or even legislation, they actually support like the First Step Act will convince them that there is anything good about this president. Hes an outsider so they hate him and will do anything to evict him from the oval office. But, victor davis, the author of the brilliant books, a case for trump, thanks an outsider is exactly what america needs, and he joins us now. So great to see you. I love your book. I want to ask you a question to start with because when i heard the title and i started diving in, i said we know the case of trump, many have been making it for years. Tell us why you thought you needed to make the case all over again. I mean, i think weve lost Historical Perspective but we never had a president , this crazy idea without political or military experience. We never had a republican field with 16 candidates of that caliber and youve never had such asymmetrical odds with Hillary Clinton in the establishment, not just to her party but it ended up with both parties. The 3 1 funding. This shouldve never happened according to traditional political calculus. And then once he was in there, the republican never trump told us he would be liberal but the democrat said he would fail. I think we have to take a breath and serve an astonishing two or three years that we been in and i want to emphasize that by the title. Thats great. Exactly, that Historical Perspective, thats what i certainly picked up when i was reading. It reminded me of exactly what you just said. What an incredible story that was and how its almost become taken for granted. They do still really despise hi him. What do you think lies behind that real contempt they show him. At the most basic, hes an outsider and he doesnt have the traditional credentials. The last few president s have come from harvard or yell business school. If trump succeeds without that resume as a commentary on the people who failed with it. Thats one thing. Then he doesnt need them, he doesnt consult them. He doesnt call in the wisemen of washington or new york or ex president s. He just barreled ahead. The analytics on gdp, energy production, traditional construction judges, the restoration of deterrence, its all in a good trajectory and i think the republicans especially, the never trump people think this cannot happen because we havent been advising and were not going to the oval office on a regular basis. Hes not reading our oped or listening to our commentary on television or whatever. That is a frightening thing, his success because its a referendum on the status quo. That is so smart. I think you absolutely nailed it. Its the vanity of these people. They cant believe there on the outside. One last question. What do you think the president should do differently in thinking about making the case all over again for 2020, looking at how they performed. What would be your point of criticism and where they need some correction. He doesnt exist in a vacuum so, just as he pointed out the liabilities of Hillary Clinton, he has got a record so he has to stress the economics, economics, economics and put that in ethical terms that his policies, whatever you think of his commentary have changed the lives of dozens of millions of people who have jobs and leverage over employers and higher wages. Thats a moral act. The second thing he will say is this is not the Democratic Party that weve known for 70 years. This is reparations, open borders, sanctuary cities, new green deal, well tax, and im the only person standing between you and the whole socialist agenda and thats going to be a powerful argument. I think this was not true even of 2016. Thank you so much. I just wanted everyone watching three chaps. They dont think they need to read the book. Please read his book. Its absolutely brilliant. I enjoyed it and i know you will too. Thank you for having me. All right, lets see what charlie and emily have to see about all of that. It doesnt surprise me, the insider versus outsider perspective because it kind of seems to fall along party lines. We have 75 of democrats who have said they really value someone with that political experience. Without . With political experience. The thing about that is that it runs counter. [inaudible] [inaudible] [inaudible] especially having someone from the outside coming in because that someone we can trust has that real world experience to know that regulation and overreach only stymies growth and living with art Constitutional Rights and so forth. To me it makes a little bit of sense. The thing i loved about our conversation was the point about the never trump, theyre not being asked around anymore for their advice. I think thats absolutely the whole of it. They just look down their noses. Its the wisemen of washington, how brilliant is that. Heres the question that 2020 should be about. Is america in a better place today than it was before donald trump got elected an objective analysis, of course, lowest unemployment, isis is destroyed, the gdp numbers are historic, the economy is totally booming, wages are going up, d regulation as you mentioned, we save the wages going up a lot but theres something Everyone Needs to understand which is that theyre not just going up across the board. If you get behind the average and look at where wages are increasing by each 10 of the earnings distribution, its the bottom. Its the people at the bottom whose wages are going up faster than everyone else. Its the people who came out to vote for donald trump. Exactly. You are exactly right. He has done everything he can to fulfill every promise from the campaign trail. Never before have we seen a president be so focused to sit do what he said he was going to do. They make a brilliant historical analysis and argument that may be the elite for the past 60, 70, a hundred years have been getting it wrong. Thats why they cant stand it because he showing them up. And hes doing it brilliantly in every single vertical. The other thing that strikes me about that conversation is that so much of the contempt for President Trump, i think it actual reveals the shallowness of the people who criticize him because its all about style and not substance. They are literally not interested in any of these facts. But when it comes to present term, they dont like the way he treats or what he looks like that he eats mcdonalds, there literally not interested in the substance. Its purely the style. Is a complete failure to appreciate all of the details and all of the developments when you have made a decision to feel a certain way about a certain person and weve seen that with the president. I wholeheartedly agree. There are so many complicated issues that face us today and that our real world, Kitchen Table issues that because those on the left decry the president and they have vilified him, theres an inability to meet in the middle or discuss whatever strides hes made in those issues and its all to our detriment because right now, what i see is those on the hill, theyre doing the same hiding behind what ive done my line in the sand and thats it. Weve seen it with the mullah report. Theres so many things. Would gotta leave it there for the moment. Coming up, we talk a lot about the emergency on our southern border. That is absolutely right. Welcome back everyone. There is a crisis going on in our country and it doesnt get talked about nearly enough. Here is Fox News Contributor to explain. Its so great to see. I love watching you. I love these branded segments. I feel like we need a brand for this. The literacy crisis or literacy insanity, we really do have a problem. When you look at the proficiency reading level across the ages in america, fourth grade, eighth grade, eighth graders, only 64 are at proficiency level, and heres why thats important. Two thirds of kids who cannot read proficiently at that level will end up in jail, on welfare, there is a deep connection between literacy and being a ward of the state, being in jail, or losing the rest of your story. As a childrens author, i spend a lot of my time talking to kids in schools, in deprived school districts. These kids want to learn. They want a great story. Many times people dont care enough to give it to them. We are doing a lousy job of this across america and we have to fix it. Those numbers are staggering. They really are. So youre saying, its approaching half that cant read. By that level youre saying theyve been in school for years and this is eighth grade and when you break it down further, 82 of black students are not reading proficiently. 77 of hispanic students, they cannot read proficiently. In my belief is twofold, we are giving kids books but were not exciting them about the stories. They need to see adults reading around them, in the home and in the school, and you have to mentor. You have to give them the excitement of the story and tell them what, there is a world here that you can engage and you can be a part of. This will open not only your imagination but it will clue you into the world youre about to step into. If we dont have illiterate people, the revolution you talk about will look more like blade runner than sunnybrook farms. People have to engage, ponder, you only do that if youre literate and you can read. Weve got to improve this movement. There is a gender aspect interestingly. You talk about boys versus girls and that connects to your book. Youve been writing. Tell us about that aspect. As i traveled around, i realize, talking to librarians before we started the series, i talked to a lot of schoolteachers. What they tell me our boys are the reluctant readers. They dont want to read. I wrote protagonist is a boy, an adventure, hes young Indiana Jones meets the stranger things. Boys love it, they love the adventure in the supernatural ride, there are lakes that really exist in history and you can find them in museums and libraries and schools and churches all over the world. Girls naturally gravitate toward reading. They love to read. Ive got the female characters here, but there is mail protagonist being published as heroes and boys want to see themselves in a much more discriminating than girls when it comes to these middle grade books. Thats part of it. We are not giving them, the male role models come in the mail heroes that they crave. Weve got to do that and intentionally do that. I think theres been an overcorrection, the wonder woman and the princess this and princess back, look, its great. I have a daughter at home who loves those books. We cant forget our boys either. Totally my boys love those books and i 100 agree with you. Thank you so much for joining us. We come out and join us in l. A. Sometime. Ive come out in a few weeks. Im there. So this is one of the best things i read this week. It was in the wall street journal on a Green New Deal. Isnt democracy great. Only in congress could a Political Party introduce legislation with great media fanfare, then vote against it and blame the other side for cynicism. The Senate Democrats voting present on the Green New Deal is this weeks loony left update. It makes you smile. This is just, they are so embarrassed by their own thing that is literally now the centerpiece. They want to tell their activists we only have 12 years to live so we should be voting on it every day, right, ver zero votes is how much it got, 57 0 and the democrats that werent quite sure voted present. We only have 12 years left. Weve got to get voting on this. I guess socialism isnt as popular as we make it to be. Its just nuts. I think the worst argument for was that we were just introducing it so it would spark debate. Thats not what i want my lawmakers to be doing. I dont want them to be introducing bills, oh just kidding, we did it to talk about it. Its absolutely ridiculous. Again, shes basically become the leader of the party. On the cover of time magazine, this is just something, there appears to be nothing they can do about it. Its perfectly fine. In some ways it was predictable, shes the anti tromp, shes constantly wrong but in never in doubt and she has policies that would undo every piece of success that the Tromp Administration has accomplished and achieved in the last two years. In some ways people fake shes good for republicans. I get that argument. In other ways we have to be brutally honest and say beef ideas are dangerous and theres nothing funny about a hundred trillion dollar takeover of the american economy. Theres nothing funny about saying america is not an acceptable country. Theres nothing funny about that. So yes its easy to poke fun at her and we should, were both in our 20s and were within a couple years of each other so im going to be going up against aoc in the debate for many years now and its quite scary. These ideas should be taken with unbelievable seriousness. That is the center of the gravity. At this moment. My biggest issue, its almost always reduced to a sound bite. Its oversimplified when so much of her and what shes talking about, its wrong. How is it that almost 70 of people polled say they will not spend ten dollars to combat Climate Change and this Green New Deal can cost trillions. Theres a disconnect between the budget and Kitchen Table issues they care about with equating it to a larger picture. More examples, everyone talks about the paris claimant record, the efficacy has been shown to be literally nil. If people really cared about these issues, wouldnt it be incumbent upon those lawmakers to then create legislation that backs up what they believe. They dont really. They just want to make a point. They want to look like they really care about it. Its all about power and control. What im stunned though, im really surprised, recently adam schiff sent out a tweet defending her saying if you underestimate her, its going to be to your demise. At what point is there Party Leadership going to take a stand against her. That really shows up at the center of gravity has gone away from what mainstream democrats used to stand for. Id like to think that tromp revealed them. Its always been within the ranks. You cannot get this the radical this quickly. Its always been bring within them. Now they just believe whatever the president said they must say the opposite. Theres also a clarity there thats very helpful for framing the debate. There is a time when they achieve the populace, but populism, we talk about this, giving power to the people, this is all about them. Thats why the socialists, even though of course you could say its extreme, its exactly right. That goes back to the hypocrisy that underlies everything where the answer to every kind of a is government and ownership and yet out of their mouth. Taking power away from you, great discussion, coming up. The recent College Admission scandal where wealthy parents bribed the University Officials toda get their kid accepted revealed something much more wrong with our society and economy. We used to think of american as the land of opportunity where anyone who works hard can climb the ladder to a better life, but, is the idea of an open society no longer the reality . Was it ever the reality . Joining me now, the author of dream orders from the brookings institution, richard reeves. When the scandal broke, literally you were the first person i thought of because it goes to the heart of the arguments you make and i knew i looked online and sure enough you had. To put this in the context of your overall argument. Is a deeper problem in america of all places the kids of rich places who end up rich themselves and the kids of poor parents are middleclass parents are more likely to remain stuck on the same wrong of the ladder of the parents and its just this mix in america which is actually camouflaging the fact that american is increasing their class Found Society in the fact that how you are born really does affect, you look at the data on social ability. As this really a relatively new phenomenon or is it longer than that. I think what hope happen in the post year is that it was growing so strongly but weve never seen anything like the degree of meritocracy thats applauded in the u. S. For a long time and what the scandal has done is just blown the lid off the idea that this lea delete selective institutions in particular are doing this. Its a sense of entitlement around elite americans that the kids should get into these institutions and if they dont get in the front door they go in on the side door. If they dont get in on academics and will do it on a bribe whether its illegal or illegal one which is also allowed and we should remember that the most of the ivy league colleges, topnotch colleges, they took more students from the top 1 and the Income Distribution than the bottom 60 of the Income Distribution. These are institutions that are serving the children of todays elite rather than preparing for tomorrows elite. They may as well be on the move as far as most middleclass the sense in which many of these institutions are supposed to serve all of america. [inaudible] what are some of the other factors that you point to. Increasing geographical segregation in the u. S. , some cities are growing much more quickly especially on the coast, other places are really falling behind. Americans are becoming more economically divided by geography and if youre born into the right place at the right neighborhood, its also increasing zoning regulations and some of those growing citie cities. You get expensive areas and other people simply cant afford to move there. Youre also seeing it in the way that the k12 system increasingly segregates their students into lower performing schools and higher performing schools. Things like internships, social networks, the ability of those that have strings to pull to pick up a phone to help someone else and help their kids and opportunity hoarding but actually, a kind of goes against the idea that you should be able to rig the system. What were looking at is a Housing Market thats rigged in favor at the top of distribution and an increasing market thats rigged. We worry why a lot of middleclass americans are angry feeling that they are locked out that those of us who are in an affluent educated place in the structure or zip code, actually were doing fine but a lot of the rest of america feels that they are being left behind in this college scandal, i think it is the tip of the iceberg. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant smart analysis there. We really appreciate it. This is really at the heart of what i mean by positive populism and i encourage everyone to get your book that set to roll out so clearly and its a real emergency. Weve got to address it. I appreciate you being so thoughtful and clear about it today. Thanks a lot. See you soon. Thanks for having me on. All right. Wait till you see whos coming up next. It turns out he might have an opponent for the gop nomination. Massachusetts governor bill. Here he is. President tromp, he cut regulations, boosted job, defeats defeated isis, what part of that record do you think the Republican Voters in the primary will want to reject and vote against . Ill tell you, i dont think the president is an economic conservative and the proof is that he hasnt cut spending. I cut spending a lot in massachusetts. I think the federal government should have a balanced budget requirement just as all 49 states do. All the states except vermont, and then we wouldnt have these 2 trilliondollar deficits alltime and the president has added 8 trillion more dollars to the deficit with his latest budget. Now we are at 30 trillion. I think that raises an issue of fairness with the younger generations, the millennials and gen x will pay for all that. Were not going to pay for it. Its too late for all that. No household could survive that way, not balancing their checkbook. I dont see why the federal government should either. What about the actual outcome for real people, the fact that the economy, you can look at the data in terms of how people are experiencing this economy. Thats a strong record, dont you think people will want more of that . I think, of course i want more than that, the an emphasis on National Wealth is one of the chief duties of the magistrate of the United States but i dont think theyre being thoughtful in washington about the future of the economy, the future of work. We are about to lose 15 or 20 of all of our jobs in the coming years because of Artificial Intelligence and robotics and drones and Machine Learning and above all, self driving vehicles.
