He said he was going to do it and he is doing it. He is winding down foreign entanglements, longterm military interventions that i seem to recall democrats used to be against. Its medicare for all who can afford it. I dont understand why you believe the only way to deliver affordable coverage to everyone is to obliterate private plans. If it moves, tax it. If it doesnt, tax it. I do think it is appropriate to acknowledge that taxes will go up. For people making between 50,000 and 70,000 a year, the taxes will go up about 5,000. We should look at what germany, france, and sweet and still, which is a value added tax. Billionaires are making money off of their accumulated wealth. We need a wealth tax. Sometimes i think that senator warren is more focused on being punitive. Laura you know its bad when even beto is saying too much of the taxes. And what we are finding is he is getting weaker and weaker, especially when you look at the fact that he barely has cash in hand while you look at the other candidates who are more extreme, like warren or sanders really taking off, getting small donor donations, and also being able to push a much more radical agenda. Sanders calls himself a socialist, and the squad and aoc want primacy and power in the party. If they went with warren, she calls herself capitalist, albeit one with socialist principles. Maintaining power and influence in the Democratic Party increasingly looks to aoc and the squad for leadership. And they are true believers. Aoc and the squad are true believers. Laura its kind of the opposite of trump. They believe Different Things but theyru are warriors for what they believe in and hent is a warrior for what he believes in. May the best group win. He started off the socialist revolution in the united states, is when really you saw the groundswell for that, and warren hasnt taken up that mantle as bernie has. Watergate, bill clinton, you had a vote in the house whether to start the proceedings, and they have the right to call witnesses, the white house is allowed to send representatives. Most importantly, you cant rush Something Like this. If you really want to do justice and find out what happened, you have to take it slowly and give everyone a chance to do what they say. As ive been saying and as they laid out at the top of the show, they are willing to abandon their entire belief system on foreign policy, on trade, on bluecollar workers, on the surveillance state. They up and everything for the noble goal that they believe is normal and imperative to remove trump. Everyone thinks these are principled positions. Get out of town. Its ruthless, but dont call it principled. Nancy pelosi, its our rules. We get to make up the rules and ally you people, saying there s no rules, no constitutional implications. This is just your dream fantasy land of fairness rubric being foisted upon the impeachment process. What is going to happen isnei mpthink it is going to backfiren them because the American People are going to see they are not taking their constitutional responsibility seriously. If we cant trust them to run impeachment proceedings fairly and transparently, how can we trust them to set a budget to fix entitlement programs, fix immigration. These are people trying to remove them from office and undo his election in 2016. If i were him i would say im not going to meet with you until you end this impeachment.
