The Baltimore Sun identified the shoort. Shooter. 38yearold jared who had a long running feud with the Capital Gazette. In 2012 he filed a defamation lawsuit against the newspaper over a story about a criminal harassment case against him. He lost that lawsuit three years later. At a press conference earlier police said there were threats made against the newspaper over social media. There were threats sent to the gazette by the social media. We are trying to confirm what account that and who sent them. To my knowledge those threats were as early as today. Thats all that police said about the gunman previously.
