0 with no chance for parole. and an extra 1,000 years behind bars for good measure. today, ariel castro changed his plea to guilty for holding not one but three women captive in his home for nearly a decade. today the judge asked ariel castro if he understands the terms of the agreement. >> do you understand, mr. castro, that upon entering this plea you will never be released from prison? >> i understand that and i agree with it [inaudible] >> shepard: after all he faced nearly 1,000 charges including rape, kidnapping and murder when prosecutors say he beat one woman who miscarried.t until she all three women managed to escape that house of horrors back in may. they spoke out earlier this month. >> i'm growing stronger today and having my privacy has helped immensely. i ask everyone to continue to respect our privacy and give us time to have a normal life. >> shepard: the three survivors released a statement through their legal team today saying amanda gina and michelle are relieved by today's plea. satisfied resolution of the case and looking forward to having these legal proceedings draw to a close in the near future. garrett continue any is continueny is live in our new york newsroom in a minute garrett? >> have a chance to hear from three women next thursday at ariel ariel castros sentencing hearing where prosecutors said they are also going to be putting on what they are calling a mini trial, essentially laying out what life was like for those three women during their years in captivity. the prosecutor laid out what ariel castro's future will hold. >> by the terms of this agreement, this man is going to prison for the rest of his life. he is never coming out except failed in a box or a ash can. is he not stepping out. is he going down broke. he is leaving his assets behind. and that's justice. >> the former school bus driver along with members of his family will also have a chance to speak on his behalf at sentencing next week. and if life without parole plus 1,000 years wasn't enough, the judge could still decide to tack on an additional 8,000 years. shep? >> shepard: gator -- garrett teny. the state of ohio owns the home and plans to demolish it very soon. police say now they have detained the dryer of that train that -- driver of that train that jumped the tracks in spain. the driver is a suspect but they cannot question him right now because of his injuries. one passenger tells the associated press video monitor shows the train was going twice the speed limit for that curve. told rescue workers i fd. it up. i want to die. [ male announcer ] ask your doctor if chantix is right for you. happened to aaron hernandez' friends. the former new england patriots star has pleaded not guilty to murdering one of his buddies and another buddy found out he will have to pay a half a million bucks to get out of jail. that's the amount of money the judge set earnest wall wallace's bail as he appeared in court. he has been charged with accessory to murder. they claim wallace was with hernandez on the night of oden's killing. he orchestrated the killing because he didn't like some people to whom lloyd was talking at a nightclub. jamie colby live with the latest tonight. jamie? >> yeah, shep. we have been tracking this all day. these fodz released today show hernandez carrying a firearm in both the hours before and minutes after his friend oden lloyd was fatally shot. there was an autopsy as well and some shell casings and they confirm lloyd was murdered using a glock. he though the murder weapon hasn't been found. meanwhile, hernandez has pled not guilty. he is being held without bond. and authorities are are also considering any connection he may have had to a previously unsolved double murder. saying whatever lloyd may have known about that crime could have been a motive and could, we should say, been a motive to kill him. there were two other men with him that night, with hernandez the night of lloyd's murder and they are also facing charges. and as you mentioned, shepard, today earnest wallace charged as an accessory after the fact in the lloyd shooting requested bail of a measly $10,000. but the judge note ago 25 year wrap-rap sheet and parole violations 25,000 instead. that is one of hernandez' friends. the other won carlosor tease charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. he reports back to court on august 14th. the photos are part of a' released. judge approved a media petition to make it all public. we are learning more and more, shep. >> shepard: holding hernandez without bail the next hearing in his case is in four weeks. prosecutors today rested their case in the mob boss of whitey bulger after months of intense and graphic testimony. whitey bulger stands accused of taking part in 19 murders during the 1970s and 80's. the state called 63 witnesses to the stand. today an fbi special agent described how investigators finally busted him in southern california. they said he lured them out of apartment by claiming that somebody had robbed his storage locker. when they arrested him, he first gave a false name and then said: you know who i am. i applewhitey bulger. and he led them to 30 guns and $100 million in cash most of which he had hidden inside his apartment walls. remember, one man on the prosecution's witness list turned up dead on the side of the road last week. a lawyer for his ex-wife says her family believes his death was not related to this trial. the it defense starts on monday. they deny he murdered anybody. no word yesterday yet on whether bulger himself might take the stand. egyptians forcing through islamist constitution. that is is nothing compared to the latest accusations against mohammed morsi. fox reports live on the new murder investigation. and the united states is making a promise about what would happen to this guy should he return to america. the latest on the nsa leaker coming up. i want to make things more secure.
