Few hours ago. At 33 years old if he wins he will be the youngest u. S. Senator in 40 years. There are some questions about what kind of experience hes g got. You talk in some speech we just listened to about health and jobs and justice for all. Why not talk more about your experience, your relevant experience, being the best person to deliver on those things . Look, i made my career fighting injustice, exposing war crimes and corruption. I run a business thats exposed terrorism. In that business hes referring to is a documentary film Company Called dwi insights. He did something today that we saw on the president ial Campaign Beat a long time ago, he posted a photo with supporters, the other democrat in this race Raphael Warnock does not have any Public Events today. Hes been accused of wrongdoing by his exwife who claimed he ran over her foot with a car. Allegations he was not a charge for. More recently, someone who attended a church camp Raphael Warnock attended years ago accused him of wrongdoing with the Washington Free beacon beer but the republicans trying to hold onto their seats here are spending a lot more of their time focusing on issues and ide. We are winning this race right now. Kelly and i are all over the state. Were running against two of the most liberal candidates the democrats have ever put up. One has a china scandal that is right in line with swallow well and hunter biden beard the other guy, his abuse, his pulpit responsibilities and called the police thugs. Millions of ballots have already been cast here in georgia for this runoff but both sides are betting there will be a lot of lastminute decisions made, that is why on monday, the day before the final voting happens, President Trump is going to be here in georgia and so is joe biden. Alicia very politically crowded state on that day. Peter doocy, thank you so much. Lets bring in marc thiessen, fox news contributor. Thank you for being here. I want to start with what peter was talking about there appeared really good to see you too appeared wanted to talk about the early voting that has already been underway, ends tomorrow, lets put up the numbers here. You can see that the ballots cast in the runoff so far, a little over 2. 5 million compared to six days before the general election, almost 3. 2 Million People at this point last time in the general election. And we heard that both the biden team and the president will be in georgia on monday. Who is left out to target . Lots of voters. I mean, theres always less turnout in a Runoff Election and then there is in the general election. It really is a fight over turnout, whose base is going to be more energized, are the democrats going to be more energized to take control of the senate or is trumps base going to be more energized to protect his legacy and stop socialism and keep the senate in republican control . They should be the president s number one and only focus this week, getting his base energized to turn over these two senators because his whole legacy is at stake. Theyre going to overturn his judicial appointments, overturn his tax cuts, overturn everything hes accomplished in the last four years if the democrats get total control of all the branches of government. Alicia such an important race. Lets move on to the issue with Stacey Abrams sister. For those of you who dont know, her sisters the judge in georgia who decided not to not release 4,000 registered voters from the roles they are, as requested by two counties there. She also refused to recuse herself. In terms of appearance how much of a difference is this really going to make on tuesday . First of all, Stacey Abrams sister shouldnt be rolling on cases. She should be recusing herself because her sisters actively campaign for the democrats to take control but i dont think that is going to be the big difference. The big difference is going to be he was more energized to come out and take control of the senate. Ive got to tell you, the whole flight in washington over covid relief is really putting the Senate Republicans in washington at risk. You know, Kelly Loeffler and david perdue should be right now campaigning, taking credit for having passed 900 billion in covid relief at having passed a 3 pay raise for the United States military. Instead, President Trump has vetoed the Defense Authorization bill, which puts them in a bind, whether to buck their president or deliver a pay raise for the military, and then hes pushing these 2,000 checks that werent in the bill that his administration signed off on and hes basically siding with Chuck Schumer and nancy pelosi against Mitch Mcconnell and the republicans in the senate. Keeping them stuck in washington debating the stuff, rather than campaigning in georgia. So this is a mess that the president has but the Republican Party and right now. Alicia on that note take a look at what Newt Gingrich had to say earlier today. Senator perdue and senator loeffler come out for the president s too thousand dollar payment proposal, i think 80 of the country favors it. In the Senate Republicans risk throwing away two seats and control of the senate if they play parliamentary games instead of having a straight up or down vote. Alicia how much of a risk is Mitch Mcconnell taking right now . This is really tough in the last phase. Its not Mitch Mcconnells risk, its the president s risk. Ive questions for the president. Number one, why are you siding with Chuck Schumer and nancy pelosi, the people who tried to impeach you against Mitch Mcconnell and the republicans, the people who defended you in the impeachment . Number two, why are you if you wanted twodollar checks why didnt you ask for them the original bill instead of running around passing covid relief theyre having an internal fight, and why is he advocating socialism . 2,000 checks is a wealth transfer that Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren want. Why does a family making three and a 50,000 who has lost no income because of covid deserve twodollars of their neighbors money or money borrowed from china . Again, this is hurting Kelly Loeffler and purdue because instead of passing a military pay raise they are stuck in washington debating this insanity, the president has really put the Republican Party in a bind and newt gingric newt, they may have to have to suspend half a trillion dollars but alicia marc thiessen, thank you very much. Quick programming note, next tuesday starting at 6 00 p. M. , bret baier and Martha Maccallum will host special coverage of the georgia Runoff Election. Watch the Election Results come in to determine who will control the senate next year. Next, its a mutiny against l. A. s new District Attorney from his own deputies, as another family is outraged over leniency for an accused murderer. Its not fair. At walmart, target and other fine stores. Alicia new District Attorney in los angeles is facing an open revolt from his own deputies over his plan to lessen charges against violent criminals bear those deputies asking a judge for a restraining order to stop the d. A. From doing this. Reporting live from los angeles, william. Was happening in the d. A. s office is unprecedented. You have career prosecutors suing their own office, saying theyve been ordered to commit unethical and illegal acts and now they want a judge to protect them from their newly elected d. A. , george ganz cohen, who believes the criminal Justice System is racist. He has issued a blanket directive ordering some 800 prosecutors to dismiss charges, reduce sentences, and never seek enhancements against previously convicted felons, despite a state law saying in every case in which a defendant has one or more prior serious or violent felony convictions, the prosecuting attorney shall plead and prove each prior conviction. But he claims the law is illegal and ordered his prosecutors to ignore. Today in court papers they say they cannot because basically it is contrary to the law, contrary to their oath and duties as prosecutors and contrary to their duties and responsibilities as officer of the court. The d. A. Mocked him yesterday suggesting felons moved to l. A. Appeared in an op ed she said for you criminals that means the new l. A. D. A. Is literally willing to break the law to ensure you dont face the punishment that you deserve. On the other side, you have the l. A. Times, governor newsom, black lives matter and the dean of Berkeley Law School who believe gascon is doing the right thing. Alicia william la jeunesse in los angeles, thank you. 2020 coming to a close with murder rates biking across the country. More than 700 homicides this year in chicago. Nearly 500 in philadelphia and nearly 400 in new york. Headlines highlighting the surge in violence climb all over america. Here with moore, philip holloway, former Police Officer and Legal Advisor to the georgia sheriffs department. Thank you so much for being here today. Appreciate it. Its not just philadelphia, new york and chicago, take a look at this list of other cities here. Its pretty amazing. Look at that map, those are all places in the United States where the murder rate is on the rise this year. In your opinion and experience, whats happening . Its certainly unbelievable. I never thought i would see it in my lifetime when murder rate was this high. You know, im a big fan of prosecutorial discretion and im a big fan of fairness in the criminal Justice System, but look, when mayors and local leaders sit idly by and entire categories of criminal laws are simple in autumn forest and on top of that, when Police Agencies are understaffed and when Police Officers themselves are demoralized, this is what happens. Crime explodes, and person on person crime in particular explodes. Ive got to say that i think when you add in the particulars of 2020 and the deep personalization of society that weve seen due to covid and the interventions related to covid such as distancing and masking where you dont see peoples faces so much and the lack of real interperson, human to human interaction, i think that you just have a recipe for disaster. Its really unfortunate but i cant say im surprised. Alicia you bring up such a good point. This year has been so difficult for so many people in so many different ways, so many difficult ways. I want to move on here just a bit. Kind of in the same vein, the Justice DepartmentJust Announced it will not be filing federal charges against the Police Officers in the tamir rice shooting. A 12yearold who was shot by officers in cleveland in 2014. He was holding a toy gun but the officers say they couldnt tell at the time. In response to this we have a member of the new squad, congressman elect Jamaal Bowman who tweeted in response we are fighting in your memory, tamir he will not be forgotten. Defund the police and defund this system that is terrorizing our communities. I want to get your response to that but first i want to hear what former president obama has said about this idea of defunding the police. Take a listen. I guess you can use a snappy slogan like defund the police, but you know youve lost a big audience the minute you say it which makes it a lot less likely you are actually going to get the changes you want done. The key is to sign a direction want to get something done or do you want to feel good among the people you already agree with . Alicia when you have this struggle going on inside the democratic party, how does that impact the murder rate that weve seen go up so much this year . Police are literally the last line of defense between law and order on the one hand and lawlessness and anarchy on the other. The idea that we are just going to defund them and replace them with what, what are we going to have . Is it going to be everybody for themselves . All vigilante justice for what . That the department, we literally have nothing standing between society and bad people who really, really want to do bad things. I think this idea of defunding the police may sound good and it might make for a good slogan in certain sectors, but when you really take it down to brass tacks and look at it, its probably the dumbest idea that 2020 has produced. Its absolutely absurd to suggest defunding and getting rid of Police AgenciesPolice Agencies. Alicia its important to remember the 60 Police Officers on Christmas Day in nashville who helped ensure no one died in that explosion. Philip holloway, thank you so much for your time. Happy to be here and happy new year. Alicia thank you. Coming up, the new, more infectious strain of covid19 now on american soil. We will have the latest. Alicia the first case of the new, potentially more contagious strain of coronavirus has been confirmed in the u. S. Specifically here in colorado. Anita vogel has more. Speak of the case came to light yesterday and now officials believe they found a second local case of a covid variant from the u. K. Right there in colorado. We know the confirmed patient as a young man in his 20s. Officials say he has not traveled anywhere and its in currently in isolation. We went today he and the suspected case are members of the Colorado National guard who were deployed to support staffing at the Good Samaritan society nursing Home Northeast of colorado springs. Officials say they dont believe the spread has gone beyond that facility but they are doing Contact Tracing and investigating to find out. Heres the governor of colorado on that. Are Public Health officials are identifying anyone else who may have been exposed and any potential cases to test them to see if there is a chain of transmission with regard to the variant. If, in fact, it turns out to be more permissible it is a mean masks dont work, it means masks might be 40 effective instead of 50 to 75 . Alicia across the country covid cases are on the rise. They reported the most covid19 hospitalizations. With december proving to be the deadliest month since the pandemic started. California has been hit especially hard, with more than 2 million cases. Hospitals are overflowing with patience, especially in central and southern california, where the icu capacity is now at 0 . As for this new variant strain that was found, Health Officials in colorado stress it is not more deadly but certainly could be a lot more contagious, which could lead to more hospitalizations. But they say we can fight it with the same tools we are using to fight covid. Socially distancing, masks, washing your hands and vaccines will be expected. Back to you. Alicia as you know im in denver when we got the alert. That was not a good moment. Thank you. Alicia the bar that defied new yorks lockdown rules is pushing to reopen even after he got two dozen criminal summonings tossed. Despite the announced plans to reopen, max public house remains shut down by new york for violating covid19 restrictions. But today owners and their lawyers announced a victory. They say 20 criminal summonses that were issued against the owners and patrons of the bar were dismissed by a court. Listen. We are still staying the course. We took on the overreach, intimidation, and financial ruin but we are still staying the course. These are Proof Positive that all along, these efforts were nothing but hot air and there is no legal basis for taking away our constitutional freedom and liberties. Max became a rallying cry for people who feel who file covid19 restrictions are destroying their livelihoods. The bar remains closed and shut down, their Liquor License to spend about the state liquor authority. The sla writing this statement, in part we understand the owners think they can ignore rules they dont like but they cannot ignore the fact that their Liquor License is inactive. The charges are still pending and that one of the coowners is accused of running over a sheriffs deputy and members of the press should not buy into this false media circus. That coowner is danny presti come arrested in december for defying covid19 restrictions and was arrested a second time when he allegedly hit a new york city sheriff with his jeep here but the bottom line, macs remains closed, pending further legal cases, specifically a big one come february. Alicia brain units, thanks lawmakers across the country are under fire for their handling of the pandemics lets bring in john duffy and jessica tarlov, both fox news contributors. Thank you for being here today, appreciate it. Lets begin in california where the effort to recall gavin newsom, the governor there, has just got an infusion of 500,000, and then you go across the country to new york and the governor there once again under fire, this time by new york representative, says near governor andrew cuomo, what the response to those in rehab getting the vaccine, she says the worst governor in americas strike streak continues, this time prioritizing vaccines for drug addicts over tens and thousands of seniors who have been homebound since the start of the pandemic. An absolute disgrace. Jessica, i will start with you. These are both democratic governors were talking about here. Both under fire. Absolutely, they both are under fire but there are certainly republicans out there who have mismanaged the pandemic and have high covid rates. Talk about whats going on in ohio for instance were massachusetts, where Charlie Baker handled it very well at the beginning and then they had one of the most egregious spikes. I do think he makes an incredibly important point. New york is my hometown. Ive been a new york city, and the fact that Senior Citizens are not front of the line for this is absolutely a disservice to the entire plan to operation warp speed, the new york rollout, everything weve been talking about. We know that this disease disproportionately affects the elderly who are going to have comorbidities as well and i would add to that that the rollout in terms of getting this to Frontline Health care workers has been a problem. Doctors have been complaining that they have not been contacted as to when they are going to get the vaccine and they are seeing patients every day. Make sure that they can keep new yorkers healthy. Alicia what do you think on jessicas point that the Democratic Leaders are getting this unfair amount of attention when it comes to all the problems of covid and the response . I think you have two of the worst states in the country with regard to covid surges, one in new york in the other in california. Im happy that jessica agrees that in new york, you should actually take care of the most Vulnerable People first, which are elderly people and those with comorbidities instead of getting a vaccine to those who are drug addicts. Its stupid government and stupid policy but if you look over at california, governor newsom, here he has imposed china, communiststyle lockdowns and he has surging cases and compare that to what ron desantis has done, the governor of florida, theyve a lot of old people, wisconsin retirees go down there and theyve opened up, american freedom, they let citizens make choices for themselves with the best information and they dont have the same outbreak that they see in california. I think a little more freedom and letting people make choices for themselves works better for the american people, as opposed to lockdowns and one last point, in california and most citizens know this, being out in the sun and exercising is really good for your immunity, to fight the virus. Being on lockdown and inside is really bad for citizens so i dont get the newsom angle on lockdown. Alicia im going to switch gears because this is something getting a lot of attention. Jim acosta has gotten some blowback here from something he said to the the atlantic in terms of the way coverage happened at the white house. He said in an interview, in his view, Trumps Campaign to discredit the press has constituted a nonstop national emergency, one that required a defiant response. If being at the white house is not an experience that might merit hazard pay than perhaps it is going to be approached differently. Real quick at leigh, quick flashback at some of this coverage. What we are witnessing right now is this erosion of our freedoms in terms of covering the president of the United States. That is just a strange and on president ial thing to do, throwing rolls of paper towels at people. We saw the president s true colors today and im not sure they were red, white, and blue. Alicia is this just a big reveal of what we can expect Going Forward in the Biden Administration . Is it going to be as tough . I think it takes two to tango. Im not much of a dancer but i usually see two people doing it and the president played a pretty central role in creating this environment. He led rally chants of cnn sucks, that they are the enemy of the people and we have people actually attack members of the press at trump rallies, threatening violence at them. So yes, jim acosta sells books, he does a lot of that stuff as well, but i do think joe biden and Kamala Harris attitude towards the press will make a big difference in how this administration works. Alicia your response . I would see the Fake News Media reporting on donald trump, that was a national emergency. Jim acosta is an activist who has a press pass in the white house and the network will put on his garbage, but i look at whats going on right now, there is reports on joe biden and how hes compromised by the chinese with regard to Hunter Bidens laptop and theyre not asking any questions. The only reporter asking questions is peter doocy from fox but jim acosta is nowhere to be found, asking tough questions of biden. Its a sad state of affairs that biden gets one set of standards, trump gets a much harder set of standards. Alicia we are almost at 2021. We will see how it goes. Good afternoon, everybody. Appreciate you guys being here. [indistinct question] let me tell you what i think the people of georgia want me to be focused on and that is making sure if they need a hospital bed, theyre going to get one. We are seeing her hospitalizations and at an alarming rate right now. We are working frantically, as we talked about yesterday, to get the World CongressCenter Facility back up. Im making sure were getting the vaccine distributed to all parts of georgia and making sure were getting those on the front lines of the covid fight vaccinated. Thats happening right now in our hospitals, in our nursing homes, and im discussing with our team about broadening that out so we can continue to get the vaccine out and ive been focusing politically on the most important question that i believe weve seen in our state and our country in a long time and that is sending dave or purdue and Kelly Loeffler back to the United States senate to save this country from socialism and handing the keys to nancy pelosi, Chuck Schumer, aoc and Bernie Sanders. That is what everyone else should be doing. All of this other stuff is simply a distraction. [reporter question] all of these things are a distraction. I mean, ive supported the president. Ive said that many times. I work as hard as anybody in the state on his reelection. Up until november 3rd, i supported the Legal Process that him or any other campaign can go through in that state but at the end of the day also have to follow the laws and the constitution. Let me be clear, i did not forget what i told georgians back on january 14th, almost two years ago, that whether they voted for me or not, i would be there governor and i would be working hard for them every single day. And i believe right now they would rather me be focused on making sure that we have enough hospital beds in the state and that we are getting the vaccine distributed so we can keep this great economy that we have in these perilous times moving in the right direction, and focusing on making sure that we save the republican majority in the United States senate. That is what im going to continue to focus on. And that is what everybody else, quite honestly, should be focused on while the rest of the process is playing out. [reporter question] well, you would have to ask somebody else about that. I called on the signature audit well over a month ago. I wish i had been done sooner than it was. But im grateful the secretary secretary decided to do it. You know, ive offered the Georgia Bureau of investigation and they asked for their help in these investigations, which is currently ongoing. The Georgia Bureau of investigation helped in the signature audit that i called for and lets be clear, i had no authority to order that signature audit. Many people text me and email me every single day. That is part of constitution of the United States, lies with the secretary of state, as all election matters do. Ive done the things i can do under the power that i have by our laws and constitution and im going to continue to do and i am grateful. Im grateful for the great work that they have done over the last several days because weve got plenty of other things we can be working on. Its no secret about the crime issues we are seeing in metro and atlanta. The work they have done on human trafficking, many things we work with the trump a administration on, we line up completely on pier those of the things we are focused on every day in georgia and my administration is as well. [reporter question] we talked to many members of the Trump Administration all the time about many issues. I met with the head of the cdc today about the vaccine distribution. He was in georgia, i thanked him for his service and support he is given the state. We are going to continue to do that. Ive given him a lot of credit on monday when we started rolling out the vaccine in our longterm care facilities in the great work operation warp speed has done and we will continue to do that. I have to stay focused on the issues of the day in georgia, not what somebody is tweeting or doing in some Committee Meeting in the Georgia State capital. [reporter question] well, thats a joke. He doesnt know the Georgia Bureau of investigation very well. He doesnt know how hard they have gone after street gangs and human traffickers to save our children, to keep people from getting a shot in daylight, their cars carjacked. He should do a little more Due Diligence on the fine men and women we have at the gbi and for that matter, hes trying to figure out where the Committee Meeting is. We dont appreciate that down here in georgia. Thats not how we treat people. They may do that in new york but that is uncalled for. These are the finest people you could ever meet in your life, that literally have been putting their life on the line, that literally work 12 hour days doing signature matches. These people were professionals, they know from day one, when i hired vic reynolds, and by the way, you can look at his resume, in the city of atlanta, being a great d. A. In cobb county and now doing a great job at gbi but these people are professionals. He knows because ive told them more than once, you do the job the right way, follow the truth, wherever that may lead you, and that is exactly what they did and they will continue to do. [reporter question] reporter do you think what the president is doing, undermining them in the election system, is undermining you and the authority . Even that question, no disrespect, is a distraction. No one, whether youre mad at me, whether you like me, should get distracted by anything other than getting out the vote to save our country, quite honestly, from a socialist agenda, from defunding the police, from the Green New Deal and all these other things which will wreck our economy and change america forever, i believe. That is where my focus is. I dont want to wake up on january 6th and wonder what else i should have done. Im doing everything i can with the time that i have to support sending them back up there. Thats what i would ask my fellow georgians to do as well, and that is what we should be focused on. All these other things, there is a constitutional and Legal Process that is playing out and im very comfortable letting that process play out. But that horse has left the barn in georgia and its headed to d. C. Right now. The next vote is going to be there, not here. So people need to focus on the vote that is happening here and that is right now, early voting, and it will be on tuesday. [reporter question] i havent been invited to the rally yet. I dont have a lot of details on that, i havent been focused on that. A lot of priorities on my plate right now that i mentioned earlier and we will just see when we get a little closer to that event but i was with david and kelly two nights ago and any time they needed me for somewhere ive been there. [reporter questions] look, i think people are worried without the distractions. I mean, this is a concerning event we have going on but its also a great opportunity for us to push back on this whole idea of george is a blue state. When you look at the combined Senate Republican majority votes in the state on november 3rd, 53. 7 of the vote. The state House Republican candidates, over 51 of the vote because of those people stay focused on their agenda, which is a lot of my agenda. Teacher pay raises, funding Public Safety and law enforcement, going after street gangs, going after our children, giving help to the victims, taking away ridiculous testing requirements that are parents and kids are literally getting anxiety over, passing over 50, 50 Health Care Bills including the patients first act which is going to change the way we do health care and bring the private sector in. Giving more choice to the consumer with better prices. Those of the kinds of things people want to vote for. People want to vote for something and they have the opportunity to do that today and they will the rest of the week and on tuesday. Alicia Georgia Governor Brian Kemp they are answering some questions at the capitol about dual focus right now on one front. Hes facing covid19 like all the other states in his country and he talks about trying to make sure that everyone who needs a hospital bed gets one because cases are on the rise. Now i go to Steve Harrigan who is live in atlanta listening along. The governor is also in a pitched battle with the president right now. The governor himself is trying to ensure that republicans maintain control of the u. S. Senate. Steve . Thats right, its important to set the context here. Republican Governor Brian Kemp of georgia is under siege. Under attack by President Trump. Lets set the scene with some twitter from the president. Last night, the president tweeted about republican Governor Brian Kemp. Nobody can be this stupid. Today, he said Governor Kemp was an obstructionist. He said camp refuses to admit that we won georgia big. He also called on Governor Kemp to resign. This press conference, it was clear that Governor Kemp does not want to engage in a fight with President Trump. He stayed away from that, he said his job right now is to make sure everyone in georgia who has covid has a hospital bed and his job is to elect the two republican senators who are in a runoff battle next tuesday. He says thats with the people of georgia want to. Far as the election here goes in georgia, that horse has left the barn. The constitution, that fight is over so you have a governor here being called stupid, an obstructionist, being called on to resign by the president , not engage in, saying he has followed the constitution, trying to do his job. Republican on republican here in georgia. Alicia Steve Harrigan in atlanta, thank you. Next, we will talk with the entrepreneur whos using money from his own pocket to help businesses in nashville recover from the devastating explosion on christmas there. I felt awful because of my psoriasis. I was covered from head to toe with it. It really hurt. Then i started cosentyx. Okay, thanks. That was four years ago. How are you . See me. Police visited his home a year before in a tip. Mike tobin is live in nashville with details. Mike . Its an incident report from 2019 that shows that police were alerted that Anthony Quinn warner was making bombs. It was august 21 of 2019. Police contacted a woman described as a girlfriend of warner. She made statements that her boyfriend was building bombs and an rv trailer at his residence. The suspect talks about military and bomb making. Police attempted several times and could not get the suspect to answer the door. The report also says that police saw the rv but couldnt see inside it. The yard was fenced off and had cameras and alarms. Warner acting with advice from a lawyer, denied them access to the property. Metro contacted the department of defense and the fbi. A spokesman said august 22, 2019, the fbi received a request from the Metro NashvillePolice Department to check holdings on warner and found no records at all. Prior to the discovery of this incident report, the only problem was a pot chart in 1978. He was not on our radar. He was not someone that was identified as a person of interest for the bureau. So we were not familiar with this individual until this incident. Also today security video from some of the downtown businesses has been released showing the impact of the bomb. Three injuries resulted from the explosion. Only the bomber diet. A lot of credit is being given to the six Police Officers that rushed into the danger and got people out. Alicia . Alicia thanks, mike. Businesses in downtown nashville picking up after picking up the pieces after the bombing in an effort to help philanthropist set up a new fund. Hes donating 500,000 of his own money. Marcus, thanks for being here. Absolutely. Alicia this is wonderful news. How did you decide to do this . Well, i dont know if its wonderful news because i have Business Owners behind me that have not seen the mayor or heard from the mayor since this incident happened christmas morning. You have people trying to put their lives together. The fbi has been spectacular in trying to get people mobilized and providing them access. The reason i want to do it, if i was a Business Owner in a town and i had this happen, i have not heard from the mayor and anybody in the statement or federal government, i would want somebody to help me. At the end of the day, this community is built on these businesses. If we dont get them open or relocated, these towns wont survive much longer. Alicia the city of nashville has been through so much. A tornado in the spring and floods prior. Like so many other cities, we have coronavirus. When youre talking to these Business Owners, every Business Owner had their start. So thats a special conversation between you and these small Business Owners, isnt it . Ill tell you what is even more special is the resiliency that im hearing from the Business Owners. They didnt walk into the room where we have them all gathered with hat and hand. They dont want anything for free. They want to work for it. That is truly the capitalistic environment that i believe in which has motivated me more than anything. What is disturbing, its still not declared a fema disaster area. So theres no fema folks here. Theres nobody from the state, theres nobody from the federal government. Theyre all here trying to put back the pieces and were going to help them. Alicia theres nobody there from the federal government in terms of Recovery Efforts . No, theres nobody here. In fact, the governor apparently sent something to washington asking for it to be declared a federal emergency much like we have in a tornado or hurricane or fire or anything like that. It would be declared. That would give fema the permission to come to the town. So theres fbi agents swarming the area. I give them kudos because theyre here. We have the six Police Officers. Quite frankly, they deserve the prize of a lifetime. These Business Owners have not heard from anybody. I would have expected the mayor of nashville to pick up the phone and Say Something or walk the street or do something. Nobody is anywhere except the omni hotel opened up. So you think what in gods name is going on when a bomb goes off and theyre bomb themselves . Alicia we know the governor has asked for federal help. So we can just only hope and pray for these folks that it is on the way. But a hope and a prayer isnt going to help anybody. I need the governor and the mayor of this town to be louder. I know we have a pandemic going on. I walk up and down broadway and see people of tennessee to support this area and doing it properly. Wearing masks and everything. We need people to make noise. If it wasnt for people like yourself, nobody would be talking about this. Alicia we hope they hear you and hear this. These small Business Owners needed help before Christmas Day. So now this is just complete devastation. So that means so much. Are they like calling or are they trying to reach out to the mayor here, to the other 30s and trying to do something . I have to be honest. They reached out. We set up nashville 30 day fund. I put the first 500,000 in there. We have pro bono lawyers and Real Estate Agents here. Those folks shouldnt have to make a phone call. Its like having somebody pass away and asking you to make the call. Its supposed to be coming inbound. Look at the fabric of nashville. I did the documentary here a year ago. Look at the fabric of this time. Its a communitybased environment. The play i dont remember should make the phone call. Somebody should. I dont live in nashville. I cant have these folks wondering how theyre going to make payroll tomorrow. Alicia they need folks like you. We have the website up. Hopefully this gets attention. Thank you. Thank you. Alicia im alicia acuna. Heres eric shawn. Eric im eric shawn in for bill hemmer. A live look at capitol hill. Take a look at the senate about to go into session any moment now.
