Wisconsins division of criminal investigation has named that officer who shot him, and a seven year veteran of the force, he shot him in the back seven times. The dci says a knife was found in the passenger side of the vehicle in which he was shot. He can be seen on that video lunging into the door when he opens fire. May 17yearold from illinois has been arrested from the shooting death during the riots on tuesday nights. Video shows after the shooting he put his hands up surrenderi surrendering, but they ignored him. The fourth night of protesting was peaceful. The president promised to send a Law Enforcement and to the National Guard, 200 federal agents, 200 guards have been authorized, and tony eves has made the request for additional guardsmen. They will come from arizona, michigan, and alabama. They need to pick up the phone and request help. Those cities that do that, we see the violence curbed and reduced immediately. I would encourage other cities that are targets, that are experienced this the violence particularly portland, if they need to send in the National Guard, sent help if they need it. Over three months of violent activity in portland and it needs to come to an end. President trump they can solve that problem so easily and so quickly. I guess for political reasons, but these, lets call them democratic governors, or a mayor if they need help. Portland is a great example. Its been going on for 90 days and we can put it out in one hour. All they have to do is ask us to come and we will be there with the National Guard. We would like to go a step further than that. We can fix the problem very quickly. They have to call us. We have to respond to their ca call. There were a few hundred people. He walked peacefully through kenosha and they did exactly what they wanted to do as far as the protest, to make people know their concerns, but they did it without violence. I think the people who were here last night for kenoshas people. We didnt see streams of cars coming in from out of Kenosha County. A huge part of me thinks that a lot of our issues start when different people with different agendas come here to kenosha. Kenoshas people are loving, peaceful, and good with change. These people did exactly what they needed to do in a peaceful way. To the people who did not want to partake in what was happening last night, it was very small. They stayed home. We made a 7 00 curfew. The people of kenosha, thank you. Thank you for adhering to the 7 00 curfew and clearing the streets. So you and your families, your property were all safe. It allowed us to do our jobs. Since sunday when the whole thing started, the personnel, the resources from our county, the counties around us, we have some departments in the state of wisconsin that sent us a third of all their deputies. We have Small Police Departments that sent us one of their officers, and a third of all there officers they have. They want to come and help keep kenosha safe. They want to help the people here in kenosha, and they want to help protect the protesters two. The state has been fantastic as far as sending resources from the very first minute we asked them. They have sent everything we have asked for and they have been outstanding. The federal government notified us yesterday that theyve been here from the first day. We had people from marshals, fbi, weve had them from the first day. The feds have been here from the first day helping with the exact same mission, to help protect the people of kenosha, and protect everyone who is here. We have got generous people and businesses here in kenosha. Our staff, the numbers continue to grow, and we need to feed them. The business is, the people are coming with bags from mcdonalds. They are coming with cold meat, platters, all kinds of nourishment for our staff. And we are getting lots of thanks. We get some people who dont like us, got it, but the overall majority of people that were hearing from tell us thank you for what were doing, for what were trying to do and our mission. I think the combined efforts of everyone sitting up here, every one of thats trying to get sleep right now, everyone whos out there at night time has been paying dividends. Making their views, their concerns known. The voice of those people is not falling upon deaf ears. We are hearing what has been said. Many people are out expressing their views, those in support of every cause, different size of issues, whether they were protesters, antiprotesters, antipolice, many people were speaking their mind. Thats one of the things thats part of america. You have the right to do that. So much of what was talked about was the number of resources being used. Those resources are being deployed to keep people safe. Whether you are a resident of kenosha or someone who is traveling to express differing views. We are doing our best to keep it a safe environment. We think those yesterday who peacefully protested and obeyed the curfew. Unfortunately not everybody did so. It was a less tumultuous night. I would agree. Fortunately there were still weapons, people were arrested, and other stuff is welcome i will go into the details, i know will be scheduling another conference soon. Not losing their voice, their desire for change, kenosha was once known for american motors in the lake front, we do not wish to be known for violence of any kind. Thank you. Good afternoon. Im the general for the wisconsin National Guard. I grew up here in wisconsin. Thats where i make my home and where i am raising my kids. What is happening in this Community Goes beyond borders. It affects us all. Im here to give you an update on the role of the National Guard. We are here to help public safety, and ensure individuals rights, to exercise their first amendments. Yesterday i spoke about the sacrifices of the National Guard service members, leaving their families and homes to come here to support. Today i want to make sure, i want to reemphasize that there are other people from all over the state, Law Enforcement that have the same thing. They left their families, and they rallied here. Behind this mission to bring a peaceful conclusion to this event. I think thats really important. I think we need to keep that in mind and keep them in mind as well. Going forward, in terms of National Guard presence, we mentioned yesterday that we were going to be bringing in members from other states. Weve solidified some of those details and i will tell you that we have commitments from three other states. Arizona, alabama, and michigan will be sending some of their National Guard members here to assist in this effort. They will be here and hopefully be assisting us as early as tomorrow night in some cases. For clarification, i want to also say that those National Guard members, much like the wisconsin National Guard, those are not hydrolyzed. They are here on paid active duty. They are here for mutual aid. Between states, specifically the governors. They will be under my command, ultimately under the demand of the commander in chief or the state. Again, i would like to emphasize that our mission here is to protect safety here into the community, and bring back peace. We are all so very supportive of all those who want to peacefully demonstrate, and we encourage that, but we understand that there people who are coming here with the intent to destroy property and to ruin lives. Those are the people that we need to all Work Together to keep them out of this community and doing the harm they are intending. In closing, i would like to reemphasize how important it is for us all to be together in our efforts. I know we are all on the stage together, and i hope all of you out there are together in our efforts to bring a peaceful conclusion to this tragic event as we go forward here in kenosha. Thank you. You want that debate if i was President Trump, you want to talk about the key issues that are going on, particularly when you look at the riots, the failure and the governor to keep their citizens safe. One thing about kenosha that i dont think is being discussed, thats a bellwether county. Where they go, the state typically goes. Candidate trump was able to win it, the first republican and 44 years. Even today i reached out to my own Campaign Manager who ran his race and the recall, he thinks it so important what is going on and its going to have a critical impact. Even looking at the fact that Kenosha County is in the milwaukee media market, or talking about suburban moms, theyre watching their local news and seeing businesses be looted, burned to the ground, not feeling safe. That is such a critical thing thats going on. I think President Trump would love to have that conversation. Dana i would say, jacob blake, his story is getting a say here.
