This is a specific statute that allows the president to move money around for a National Emergency. Heres what happened in 2014. President obama declared a humanitarian crisis at the southern border because we apprehended 120,000 unaccompanied minors. Weve already apprehended that many this year. Every problem at the border since 2014 has gotten worse. I have been in every gang you can think of to solve the immigration problem, starting with bush 43. Not one time did a democrat ever suggest to me that we didnt have a problem at the border. In 2013, we appropriated 44 billion for border security, 9 billion for barriers. Whats manufactured is that its not a crisis. So to my republican colleagues, the statute in question is very specific and limited. The president has the legal authority. The only question is, is there really a crisis at our border . If you dont believe the president , go down there and check it out for yourself. But ask the people in charge of securing the border. We think the approach coming through our government and outside it is prevention. He is very level headed negotiator. I think there are some people who think that we are going to get a unilateral is your repbder from the North Koreans. That somehow they will be willing to say, okay, were going to give up everything today. Weve had 70 years of distrust and suspicion between ourselves and the North Koreans. This is gonna take time. Its not an easy process. The North Koreans arent going to declare immediately everything they have because they dont trust us. And we dont trust them. And so i think that giving steve began time to build relationships, giving the North Koreans some small steps and then working toward the bigger goals is the only way. Its a step by step process. Its now a top down process. Its still a step by step process. And i think americans tend to be impatient in negotiations and diplomacy. Reporter attention walmart shoppers, changes at the countrys biggest retailer are under way and some fear they will lose their jobs. The company is phasing in a plan that began three years ago to replace the iconic walmart greeters at hosts. The company said affected workers will have 60 days to transition into other jobs at the chain. Those who become customer hosts will earn more money but will also have added responsibilities. Some workers have reportedly been told they will have to be able to lift up to 25 pounds. For people with disabilities these new tasks could be a problem.
