To work on its the week of november 6th and voting novembe. There is a little cushion time in there, so the house will hopefully be done with this by thanks giving, that gives the senate sometime to work after that, with the goal of putting this package on President Trumps desk by the end of the year. One issue they are looking at is trying to give folks more incentive to save for retiremen retirement. We wanted to increase the amounts that you can give to your 401 k or ira, 44o1 kays up to 20,000 or more, most families in these plans, they are only saving 200 a month, thats want to make it for them in retirement, they will be in trouble. So we are working on how to best help save more and save sooner. There was some back and forth about whether there would be free tax contributions to 4o1 kays, but some folks may say hands off my 401 k . Yes, that could make people nervous, but what about the issue that is also getting a lot of attention, state and local tax deductions, it is becoming a source of controversy. It could generate 1. 8 billion over the next decade, but people from high tax states like new york, new jersey, and california are anxious about it. I am really eager like most of to see all of the details about her so i cannot calculate out the effects on my district. We need lower taxes. So i am one of those that if we can get to there. I wanted to see tax reform, there are a lot of really good things in this package, i wanted to see this particular item at least compromised. We are starting to see a bit of a split between red states and blue states on this particular item appear to dana. Dana yes, i have been talking about that for the past week. It is very interesting, and it is going to be a big source of contention, but we are going to have to work it out. Thank you, mike. For more on this, who better than the press secretary for george w. Bush and a fox news contributor. You know more about taxes than most people i have ever known. And you understand how to talk about them. So you hear the timeline, and this is pretty quick to go from a november 1st 2 thanksgiving for the house to get it introduced, through committee, and onto the house floor, do you think that is realistic . Well, i used to work for the house ways and means committee, and it is realistic. Republicans have been working diligently on this for years, they know what they can work with, as it becomes real. And this is now real. They are wrestling with what they now call offsets, how do you pay for some of these thing things . What is a sacred cow, and what is something that you just cannot touch . That is what they are wrestling with right now . Dana what do you think the republicans are getting right in their messaging, and what are the democrats getting right . There is one message for republicans, and that is that we have to make the economy bloom again. That is the best way to get money into the hands of low income voters. So middle income people can have a faith that thats their futures will rise again. That is what this is all about. Economic growth. And here is the problem with sacred cows, what about our sacred country . If everyone fights for their individual provision, what about that . Want to get america on track . Dana you were commenting this morning on twitter, and i noticed too that the new gdp number came out, and the growth was at 4 , something that we were told it would be impossible to sustain, but now we are back, so do the republicans have a bit of a problem there saying that we have to do this, but also trying to take a credit for a good economy in the first ten months of Trumps Administration . If history is any guide, we get a burst of growth, and then it settles back down to 1. 5 growth, which means that middle income people get no pay raise. It has been in years. And so republicans need to make sure that they put the wind in the back of this economy. If they can get three or 4 growth, the way that it was with ronald reagan, from 20032007, we saw growth under george w. Bush. Dana we had meetings to see how we could get better coverage during those days. And then they changed dramatically in 2008, of course. Should it be republicans worry at all about a tax from the left, that its really only the wealthy . Its because that is something they always have to worry about. It is a false charge, the top 10 of people who make more than 138,000 a year, they make 47 of the nations money, and pay 71 of all of the income taxes. It is bogus and wrong, the press is not coverage. Dana what about in any policy that you put forward, there are winners and losers. Would it benefit republicans to talk about the fact that there may be some people that end up paying more under this plan . Well, i dont think that there will be people who end up paying more. You have to get the income tax on for all americans, then it take out those deductions and loopholes, so the 401 k provision, you cap the amounts that you can put in. If you make 50,000 a year, you are not putting 10,000 a year into your retirement fund. The people who put the mustang are the richest people, so a cap on how much you can put in it doesnt touch anybody in middle america, so there are ways that you do these things, that have the biggest deductions. They will be happy if income tax rates come down and they lose those deductions. Dana let me ask you, president of trump is going to be heading to asia, he will be gone for about a week. This is in the middle of the big negotiation that will be taking place on the house side. Do you think it is a good thing or a bad thing that the president will be out of the country at that time . Well, as you know, there is communication with president s, but nothing is as good as being in washington and being able to call people into the oval. It makes things a little bit tougher, but it always can work, and a lot of this is done at the staff level, checking it, this provision and that provision, they get back to the white house and say can we accept this or not . That is after ways and means it passes this, this is a historical tidbits, nothing can be amended on the floor of house of representatives that comes out as a ways and means tax bill. So what they pass has to be acceptable to the broader party. They have to make sure that there is no killer deals in what ways and means it is working on because it may be too late. Dana that is an interesting little tidbits. Not amendable on the floor of the house. Dana we will see you on a fox news sunday. Everyone should look forward to that. Make sure you catch him there. Ari fleischer, thank you. He pushed for a peaceful resolution to the Nuclear Standoff with north korea, Jennifer Griffins life from the pentagon. Jennifer, what was his message from the dmz . Well, he tried to make it clear that he has the full weight of the u. S. Mint military behind him. This was his first trip there as the u. S. Defense secretary, but they are in korea, ahead of the president s visit next week. He issued another stern warning to pyongyang, warning him by name to not provoke the u. S. By carrying out any more Ballistic Missile test. They are doing all that they can to resolve the Current Nuclear crisis diplomatically. As the u. S. Secretary of state, tillerson has made it clear that our goal is not war, but rather, the complete verifiable denuclearization of the korean peninsula. But so far, the rogue communist regime has rejected the Trumps Administrations call to hold. If you want to do so, jennifer, what should we expect it during the presence first trip to asia next week . Well, the most important stop will be to south korea, where he will meet the president , and a President Trump will not visit to the dmz, likely for security reasons, after meeting today, he accredited u. S. Bombers and aircraft carriers as being effective in deterring more north korean test, it is notable that they have not testfired a lithic muscle in over 40 days. There will be three u. S. Aircraft carriers while the president is there, a clear show of force. It has been long scheduled. This didnt arise overnight, but it does demonstrate a capability thats of the world cannot do this. It assures our allies, that we have had a presence in these waters for seven decades, so this is nothing new. Present trauma will visit vietnam, china, japan, and he will leave the philippines the day before a major summit of east asian leaders, which has raised some eyebrows among diplomats. Through and it is going to be a big trip, thank you for wringing asset information. We are waiting for the White House Press briefing, it is set to start in just a few minutes. Will bring that up to you life. Plus, have you checked out the jfk fbi files yet . We are wondering why one of the documents simply cuts off when there is a question about whether the cia was involved with kennedys assassination. We will ask a former cia agent about that next. With the geico app you can get roadside assistance, digital id cards. Or even file a claim. Do that. Yeah, yeah that should work. Its not happening. Just try again. Uh, i think i found your problem. Thanks. Hmm. The awardwinning geico app. Download it today. Dana thousands of secret files on the Jfk Assassination are now public, but some are still classified and will be reviewed by the cia before they are released. Mexico cooperated with the investigation into Lee Harvey Oswald, monitoring oswalds mother, and there is a suggestion that he had an accomplice when he traveled to mexico city before president kennedy was killed. A former cia director, and we cannot have a better gas than you today. Congratulations on your new show. Dana thanks, we hope that you come back often. I want to bring up one thing here. In one of the document, there is a statement from one of the attorneys, david berlin, he asks is there any information involved in the assassination of president kennedy which in any way it shows that oswald was a cia agent . And then it cuts off. What do you think that is about . I think there is some possible information that he was a kgb, but not a cia. Officer or agent. Fiona why would you say that . Mike, he was the head of romanian intelligence, the highest intelligence that we have. He says that he cannot tell you exactly what happened, but he can tell you what all of the eastern bloc nation intelligence had thought happened after the kennedy assassination. Which was this. But christian he had gotten vert the cuban missile crisis. He ordered and shortly thereafter that kennedy be assassinated. The preparations occurred, and for example, it, the trip to mexico. Where it looks like from some material that has been turned loose, he met with a kgb officer who was specialized in assassinations. There are a number of things that look suspicious that happened during that time. Before the assassination. But it looks as if what happened it may have happened was that khrushvhev got cold feet a few months before the assassination was to occur, and he realized that he may be starting a war between the u. S. And the soviet union, which he didnt want, so he pulled back it, and he said okay, everybody called off, and everybody did call it off except for oswald, who was a deeply committed at marxistleninist sniper and idealist. And he is and decided that the soviets were two moderates. Dana so he carried it out even though they had said lets not do this . Even though khrushvhev had ordered him not to do it. Now, this is one theory. It is one that i tended toward, but i am still willing to listen to the other possibilities, it it doesnt seem as though it fits with what you may have been the case. We will have to wait and see. Dana i guess we will find out more, let me read it to you from congressman cullen jones, he is frustrated. He says that after 50 years, there is no reason that the facts of the Jfk Assassination should not be made public. He said evil is a nurse and grows by concealment. It is time to know what happened in 1963. Apparently, the cia still has what they say our concerns. Are they legitimate, and is there anything that cannot be done to deal with that concern in that amount of time . I dont know. My late fatherinlaw marise miller, he was a secret service agent, he really understood these issues very well, i wish he was still alive. Dana he was involved in a reenactment . Yes, he was. Dana i think we have some pictures. I think it is likely to be the case that new things will come up, as the material is released. A new things have come up in some of the factors that we have gotten. In a material that we got at the end of the cold war, and the beginning of the cold war in the early 90s. Where the russians actually traded to sum up material with us, not on the kennedy assassination, but on other things. So there has been a whole history of of material being turned loose and analyze, and what tends to happen is that we get more and more conspiracy theories. Dana well, it turns out that 61 of americans believe that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone. He may not have acted alone, he may have acted with kgb help. Dana a very interesting. Thank you so much for being here. We are minutes away from the White House Briefing, and it jfk and a tax reform could be hot topics. Well take you there life. Plus, claiming to be Mainstream Media for being biased, and the former ceo of tax relief agrees with him. He joins me next to discuss how his views were changed. Remember that accident i got in with the pole, and i had to make a claim and all that . Is that whole thing still dragging on . No, i took some pics with the app and. Filed a claim, but. You know how they send you money to cover repairs and. They took forever to pay you, right . No, i got paid right away, but. At the very end of it all, my agent. Wouldnt even call you back, right . No, she called to see if i was happy. But if i wasnt happy with my claim experience for any reason, theyd give me my money back, no questions asked. Can you believe that . No. The claim satisfaction guarantee, only from allstate. Switching to allstate is worth it. Only from allstate. avo but you also have a higher risk of heart attack or stroke. Common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, decreased appetite, indigestion, and constipation. Side effects can lead to dehydration, which may cause kidney problems. Ask your doctor about victoza®. Dana after an eyeopening journey to americas heartland, the former ceo of npr is talking about liberal bias that exists in the media. When you are liberal and everyone else around you is as well, it is easy to fall into groupthink about what stories are important, what sources are legitimate, and what the narrative of the day will be. He recounts his experiences of a traveling to nascar races and even pay comes to get the other side of the equation in his book republican like me. He joins me at now. I am glad to have you here, tell me why did you decide to do this . What prompted you to do it . I did it out of fear of the country pulling apart, that we know the other side much less than we did in the past. So i wanted to do what Atticus Finch said in to kill a mockingbird. You have to understand someone elses point of view. Some i wanted to understand the world from a different point of view. Dana what was your most unexpected experience . There were so many. It was a year of learning. I live in a 93 democratic award in washington, d. C. , i really learned a lot. I learned to love the right, it it doesnt mean that i necessarily agree with everything that i heard, but i met so many good people. One experience was going to urbana, i was blown away by these evangelical youth, they talked about diversity on campus, the poor and the homeless, the people in the shadows. It was a remarkable opportunity thats really changed my views on the diversity of 50,000 american evangelicals. Dana if you had it done it sooner, do you think that it would have change the coverage that he oversaw as a place like npr . When i tell my former colleagues at npr, the reporters at npr, they are excellent to journalists. They do a good job every day, yet they are also subject to the consequences of groupthink. So yes, i said in the New York Post article that i regret not pushing it earlier, i think that to cover politics, you have to try to see it from all angles. Dana he is a staff reporter, and he took issue with your piece, he said that you are blatant cultural tourism was on a display, and that you are not the first one to pull the systems, and yes, i do wonder when you say that you could hold tooth out that one time, what are your thoughts about the president of the United States making a big issue of fake news in the media, are you concerned about that from the other side . Yeah, sure, so let me address brians point, which i think is actually a reasonable point, which i worry about. Here i am, a guy from washington going out for a year into other parts of the country, and everywhere i went, and people were open and wanted it to talk. They wanted to talk about their concerns for the future of the country, and how they felt patronized by what they perceived as the liberal media. I do have concerns written about edge in how the Mainstream Media covers the present, but it is not an issue of a fake news. The Mainstream Media loves controversy within the assault against the present, it is good for their numbers. And the president s loves it too because it sort of reaffirms them on a daily basis. Dana it didnt you make it to become a Country Music fan . I did not. That will be a book too. Well get to you out there on the road so that you can become a Country Music fan as well. This is really interesting. Thank you so much. So i wanted to introduce you to something that i call my weekend reading folder, which is my chance to catch up on compelling articles that i did not get to during the week. The New York Post published this as he opens up about liberal media bias, and i grabs that and made him a guest on the show. Next up on the left, the Associated Press covering the plight of refugees in bmr, giving a heartbreaking account of the journey to freedom. Seven ways to reduce stress, some advice that we could all use. And i hope that you all read along with me. Tell me what you think on twitter and anywhere else where you can find me. So we are standing by and for the White House Press briefing, capping off of a busy week, we will bring it to your life when it starts, plus a new twist in the virginia governors wrist, how the democratic candidate is pulling apart by defying his progressive faith. And another look into the Russian Investigation, as we turn the spotlight on Robert Mueller the day i got the diagnosis, i was just shocked. The surgeon in dallas said i needed to have the top left lobe of my lung removed. I wanted to know what my other options were. And i found that at Cancer Treatment centers of america. Mueller. How long do you think well keep oooooohhh you stopped youre gonna leave me back here at year 9 . How did this happen . It turned out, a lot of people fell short, of even the average length of retirement. We have to think about not when we expect to live to, but when we could live to. Lets plan for income that lasts all our years in retirement. Prudential. Bring your challenges. Dana of the White House Briefing is about to begin any minute. We will bring it to you live. Meanwhile, showing that the election is up for grabs. 5043 , but another poll shows a gillespie in the lead, up by eight points. We are to the national journal, he joins me now. If i could show you a couple of things, former spokesperson for Hillary Clintons Campaign Just put up the street. It says a live outlook as of the strategy meeting, and it is a picture from that horrible scene in charlottesville in august. And you have the Republican National committee responding, saying that this is on full display, he just parroted the same offensive attack that he is using in this lastminute campaign mailer, so ages 11 days till election day, obviously, it is one of the only races that people are falling right now, what do you think the actual state of the races . In certain democratic corners, there is concern that he is not doing as much as he could for the base, and he is running a Campaign Based on immigration and to let immigrants have voting rights. He is not embracing it donald trump himself, and what they are trying to do is get to the base energize, and there are some corners of the Democratic Party in virginia that are concerned that even though it is a big race, the one central race in 2017, that they are not as energized as they could be. Dana it is not necessarily a trend, but it do you think that you can see anything happening with these two candidates i could be replicated in the 2018 midterm elections . The fact that he is running on cultural issues instead of Economic Issues is a real telltale sign for how they are likely to campaign into the future. He is a district establishments. Former head of the Republican National committee, when i was with him on the campaign trail, all he wanted to talk about was tax cuts and tax cuts for small businesses, and now a lot of these campaign ads are focused on immigration, cultural issues, that he was trying to run away from, that he would not emphasize it first, the republicans are learning that even if you dont want to be with trump, some of these cultural hot button issues are great for persuading some undecided voters. Dana he has tweeted in support of gillespie, saying that the other is not working hard enough, will be not tough on crime. Do you think that that will help or hurt . The virginia democrats are trying to make trump an issue that would hurt ed gillespie. It is really interesting. Gillespie does not want to mention his name on the campaign trail. He tries to avoid mentioning a trump at all cost, but trump is out there tweeting and support for ed gillespie, and he has been praising him up. Its so they are trying to get that trumpet base excited with the president s tweets, but ed gillespie, pretty moderate republican, establishment republican, he is also talking about tax cuts, more issues that can appeal to Northern Virginia voters than suburban, so he is trying to have it both ways, we will see if it will play out effectively for him. Dana i noticed that eugene robinson, a columnist for the Washington Post , he leas left, he said that both parties are crisis but for reasons that we dont understand. I think he is right it to a large extent, you have this populous element that they are really taking on their partys leadership, making it really difficult for candidates in both parties to find out how to focus on their campaign, and the fact that ive gillespie is talking about cultural issues, the fact that Bernie Sanders is that driving his supporters to the left. I dana it was just this week that you spoke with him and there was an announcement of a flakes resignation. How divided do you think the Republican Party is or is it being over exaggerated . It is divided. You have Mitch Mcconnell allies that are going after steve bannon in various interesting ways, they thought that they could be one big happy republican family, but there are a lot of division on issues like a trade, immigration, Foreign Policy that are coming out into the open. Dana maybe next week, i will have you back and talk about if the democrats have thats too, but now i have to let you go. Thank you so much for being her here. So the bills are piling up in the investigation. It did at the trump collude with the kremlin . We are alive from washington. Catherine. Dana think, dana, the head of the House Intelligence Community, richard byrd of north carolina, and congressmen of texas, expected to finish their Russian Investigation by january, if not sooner, this may create a conflict for democrats over whether they sign off on the final report or descent, further factoring this against the russian threat appeared on this issue of collusion, the senator recently told reporters that they are following up on a new lease, but after eight months of investigation, they have nothing solid. The issue of collusion is it still open. We continue to investigate and interview witnesses. We are not in a position where we will House Intelligence Community agrees on the needed to get the leaders to sit down and to determine whether they are having findings that they can agree on and if they can reflect a bipartisan conclusion. What is the view of the special counsel investigation . It was funded by the dnc, and the clinton campaign, this has allowed republicans to really step up an effort to really closely special counsel investigation buyer Robert Mueller or narrow the focus of that investigation. They may apply some financial pressure soon, which i host about a dozen attorneys supporting staff, travel, and supplies. The office is in downtown washington, and its began on the floor, you can see it here, but it has expanded to a second floor to accommodate the number of staff. They are expected to supply a budget every six months, and that budget is looming. Dust came from one of my secret context. We have never seen an image of that office before. [laughs] dana it looks like something that i have not seen. Sarah sanders expected to take the podium any moment now and a very busy day in washington. We will take you there when she begins. Icked out the biggest guy in there. And i walked straight up to him. Now he looks me square in the eye, and, i swear he says, welcome to Navy Federal Credit union. Whoa friendly alert i got a great auto rate outta that guy. Now i have a wonderful hybrid. Slate blue. Creme interior. He was so nice open to the armed forces, the dod, veterans and their families. Navy federal credit union. Dana Sarah Sanders live at the White House Briefing room. Secretary sanders obviously, i am referring to the children around the rim. We are really excited and very glad to welcome them to the white house today. They are going to love trickortreating in the executive Office Building. I look forward to taking some questions, maybe even from some of the kids today. A couple of quick things to not note. It was an important moment for our country in the Opioid Epidemic that has hurt so many wonderful families, the declaration of a nationwide Public Health emergency to address the crisis. The president is mobilizing his entire administration to confront this issue. The president s string remarks yesterday, which included a powerful story of how addiction impacted his family set the stage for the country to unite behind it decided to save lives. In the wake of the announcement, several cabinet members are traveling around the country for events related to the opioid crisis. Jeff sessions, acting secretary harden. These events illustrates that the president to truly have made this issue and administration wide priority. On the economic front, the u. S. Economy grows at 3 for the Second Quarter in a row, despite the damage from this years hurricane season. Unemployment is at a 16 year low, the stock market continues to climb to record levels, and Economic Confidence isnt soaring. The engine of the American Economy is revving up, and the president is ready to pour in the rocket fuel through reforms. It is fitting that we have some kids with us here today because ultimately, it is about empowering hardworking American Families to provide better lives for them and a Better Future for their children. With that, i will take your questions. Can i ask you about the 300 Million Contract in puerto rico. It does the white house have any concerns about the way that this contract came down and the fact that they have no experience of doing anything on this magnitude . Secretary sanders this was a contract that was determined by the local authorities in puerto rico, not something that the federal government played a role in, but as we understand, there is an ongoing audit, and we look forward to seeing the result of that. Can we say that the primary, one of the primary investors of this company was a major donor to the trump campaign, and it has nothing to do with the secretary sanders rate, the federal government has nothing to do with this contract, it was something determined by the puerto rican government, and we will look forward to the audit to see if s beyond that. I have a question on russia, the recipients of the sanction were supposed to be named on october 1st. And thats it just came up today. I was wondering if you could explain the delay and how soon the administration will acted to implement those things. The two there was a review that has now been completed, that was the cause for the delay. The guidance was issued by the state department. And that is now being carried out, and for any further details, i refer you to the state department. The president tweeted out this morning regarding the Russian Investigation, after months of costliness, is the present suggesting that the special investigation is a waste of money . Secretary sanders i think that the president has been pretty clear with his possession throughout this process. That is not the only investigation that has taken place. Congress has spent a great deal of time on this, the better part of a year. All of your news organizations have probably spent a lot of money on the south wall, which we would consider probably a pretty big waste. I think thats our position hasnt changed since they one, and i think we are saying now that if there was any collusion with russia, it was between the dnc and the clintons, and certainly not our campaign. I am going to move around. Maybe one of your colleagues will ask it. Do you have any comments on on secretary sanders i am not aware of any phone calls as of today, but we certainly echo the state department and again reiterate our support for unification. Sorry, guys, i am going jump around. Met this morning with secretary zinke, did the president asked him if he had any knowledge regarding the steel . Secretary sanders the primary purpose for this meeting was to discuss it secretary the reports that is coming out shortly. He did ask secretary is just fr clarification purposes, he reiterated that we have a no roll, and specifically he had no role in that contract. On energy, and another question. Prior to hurricane maria, there were two employees, and then after hurricane maria, it was awarded a 300 Million Contract. I realize that you said this was a contract that was worded by officials and puerto rico, but would you acknowledge that it doesnt look right at just on the surface of things . Secretary sanders like that, i am not going to comment before the audit is conducted, but we certainly look forward to seeing the results of that, it will be a state and local decision made by the puerto rican authorities, but we will look into it once it is published. There is a lot of corruption, do you think thats what this falls under that umbrella . Secretary sanders once again, i am not going to get ahead of the audit. You mentioned the opioid crisis, and how the president declared a National Health emergency. That declaration did not come with a request from money for congress. How much does the president want to put towards this crisis, and when well hes put in a formal request for that money . Secretary sanders well, there was a 45 million that was originally in the Health Care Plan that no democrat in the country supported, so ideally, that would have been done through that, but since it wasnt, we are hoping that congress will come together, and there will be a lot of bipartisan support to put behind the effort. Based on your answer just now, 45 billion is what you would like to see as an initial approach to the opioid crisis, and you hope to negotiate this in december. Im not going to negotiate with you from the podium, there is 1 billion that has been spent to date to sense a presence into office. It would have been a good number that was in the health care bill, that was what we supported. We are going to continue looking at that and determine future numbers as we work on negotiation. Is that a good place to start with congress . Did he agree with the recommendation about the National Monument in utah . Secretary sanders im not going to get ahead of the president s announcement, but i can tell you that he will be going to utah in the first part of early december, and we will release more details at that point. If not, before, he also spoke with some senators during the course of that meeting. Obviously, Sexual Harassment has been in the news, and some women have accused the president of sexually harassing them, the president called the accusations of fake news. It is the official weight house position that all of the women are lying . Secretary sanders yes. And the president has spoken on this. Former president jimmy carter offered his ability as a gobetween it to the north korean regime, in the hopes of resolving the differences between this countries and pyongyang. He has a history with the current leader in north korea, and his grandfather and a 94. Is the administration in contact with resident carter, and it doesnt have any plans to use him as a gobetween or an envoy to pyongyang . Secretary sanders i dont think that is part of our process at this time, if that changes, we will certainly let you know. But is not a part of our current plan or thinking on how to deal with north korea. I have a 401 k question. Secretary sanders and you didnt think anybody here like to you. Is the present considering dropping of the tax contributions that americans are putting into their 401 k . At about a 18,000 does the present support taking that and potentially lowering it . Secretary sanders he wants to push for protection of americans retirement, and that hasnt changed, but i am not going to negotiate any deals beyond that, but that is the present position, and it is the same. They have said is that Robert Mueller should step aside, to certain investigations within the special counsel. It does the president share that view . Secretary sanders he wants to see this completed, we are continuing to see day in and day out as this investigation moves to completion, as the same as it started, there is still no evidence of collusion between the president and anyone. If any collision that took place, it would be between the dnc and the clintons, and we are starting to now see that all of the things that the democrats had accused that the president of doing they were actually guilty of themselves, and i think that is a really big problem that should certainly be looked at. They are preparing a measure of up to five years in prison, would you condemn this measure . Secretary sanders i would have to look into that before i made a response. But i would certainly be happy to check into it. I am going to ask you about the fence. Since the last time you were up here, there have been a couple of reports, one that, that the president is going to make an announcement next week, can you confirm this . A little timing, and 70 reports that janet yellen is out of the running. Can you confirm that . Secretary sanders if i can confirm that he does plan to make an announcement on the next week, but beyond that, i dont have anything else to add. I wanted to ask you about a comment that was made on fox news. I know that he does not work for the white house anymore, but he claims to be very still involved in a knowing what is going on here. He was talking about the uranium deal with Hillary Clinton, that there were people up on the treason charges, this is the equivalent to what the rosenberg stood, and those people got to be chair think about it. Doesnt the president agreed with that that statement . Secretary sanders i havent even seen those comments. Im not going to validate such. I cannot tell you that we do think that there is a lot of cause for concern, regarding the ideal, and we certainly think that it should be looked into, but i cant comment on that further. About the upcoming asia trip, can you talk a little bit more about the criteria used to confirm that he is not going to be at the east asia summit, and why. Secretary sanders he is participating in the Opening Ceremony and at least parts of that event and in terms of specifics, we are going to do a full and more detailed review on that next week, so i will wait until we get to next week as some of those things are still being worked out. Said on twitter, about some extraordinary elevation. Secretary sanders not that i am aware of. I was wondering, why did the president involve himself in the uranium investigation . Are you trying to rival the Russian Investigation to the one on capitol hill . And where is the evidence that Hillary Clinton colluded with the russians . Secretary sanders i dont know what specific involvement he has, he has push for transparency, if that is what you are referring to. That is probably something new for a president to actually push for transparency, but that is what he has done. And that was the purpose of what he was trying to do in that process. How about evidence of collusion . He made a charge that Hillary Clinton secretary sanders i think i have addressed that pretty thoroughly. You are saying secretary sanders i am saying that i am calling out your colleague. Attacking steve bannon, does the white house have an opinion on that . Is he still viewed as helpful to the present cost . And has the president had any success talking to steve out of some of the dash or backing him off of some of the things that he has suggested customer expedia in a terms of how they spend their money, i would directly to them, i cannot answer for them or the president s comments on the political situations. On a sunday, one month anniversary of the las vegas shooting. If at first you did not want to comment on it, does the president think that is he going to ask them to you, does he think that that is not to be a problem . Secretary sanders he has asked that that process be reviewed, and we are working on the details of that to take place. But a decision has not been finalized on that. But we are looking at that and putting it under review. Im going to cut us a little bit short today. And i have one last announcemen announcement, thats the president asked me to let all of you know that to those of you who have your kids here for trickortreating before they go over to the executive Office Building for trickortreating, he has invited them to come into the oval, so if you would like to have your kids participate, please meet us here, and we will walk them over shortly, and give them back to you. So that you cannot sugar them up and take them home to your house to run wild. Thanks so much, and have a good friday. If he wanted that was it Sarah Sanders, a range of issues from puerto rico to the tax bill and the presence Upcoming Trip to asia. But while we were watching a Sarah Sanders, there wasnt some new reporting about the senate race in utah or a possible one width of the atlantic magazine reporting that they have five sources of things that the senator there is expected to retire. And it is possible then that mitt romney, is a gearing up too run. Joining me now our former Communications Director for senator marco rubio and a democratic strategist and Campaign Director for American Progress action fund. We only have a few minutes, but i wanted to get your take on the breaking news. I know that they say look at, this has been reported before. There has been no change. But it seems to me that there seems to have been a little bit of a change. Yes, one of the best in the business, especially when it comes to utah politics, so this is a big deal. And potentially big news for republicans. He has been a great senator, but if he does decide to retire, i can think of no one better to take his seat and then mitt romney, someone who is obviously a wellrespected republican. Someone who president of trump considered making secretary of state, so if we could have his voice back in the national conversation, that would be very important, especially as we move forward. I think we want his voice to be part of the future, and of the country. Dana i cant imagine that it would be all smooth sailing for republicans, emily, for example, i dont know if steve bannon would like it that mitt romney would want to throw his hat in the ring. What are your thoughts . Probably not, we have a slightly different view on the relationship between mitt romney and donald trump. He suddenly came into contention, trump was so unpopular that there was talk that he may not actually win. And probably has been consistently outspoken on how trump is an unfit leader, so it could actually be a very good fit for him. What it does nationally is interesting. It puts utah and contention. It makes them a real race. This is a year that they have been going into, thinking that they had the upper hand. They had to defend a couple of seats and cohort offensively against republicans. That is really not turning out to be the case at all, they have to to defend many more seats than they thought they would have to and many more competitors. Dana alex, do you really think that utah is in contention for the democrats on a statewide ballot . Not in the senate race if mitt romney is the candidate. Mitt romney would win that race. Hillary clinton did try to compete in utah. Present at trump has always underperformed with mormons, in part because they just dont like many mormons, i should not to generalize. But many mormons do not like his personality, how he is sometimes offensive on the twitter and whatnot. Just like, who is mormon, who retired this week, pointed it to his temperament as to why he has so many problems with present trumpet. So that is why utah is potentially a competitive state where trump is on the ballot. Certainly not in a senate race where mitt romney is running, though. See what it was true, remember, Hillary Clinton said i am going to make a go for it in utah. She said she was going to try. Huge waste of money. Dana will come of that could end up being of the strategy here, especially if steve bannon doesnt go after every establishment republican that is out there. Spending money, it turns voters against each other, it brings a lot of National Attention to a race. It could end up being a ton of money spent. They have got a lot of money to spend. Dana thanks for joining us. I am dana perino. It has been a really great week. There is more to come. Here is trace gallagher. He is in for shepard the president promising tax cuts but republicans facing resistance from their own members. Defense secretary james mattis in the dmz accusing north korea of threatening catastrophe. What he says the u. S. Is doing to avoid a war. The secret j. F. K. Files are out, some of them. What were learning about the assassination and strippers and sex parties. Thats all ahead this hour
