But at the time republicans were demonized by democrats in my state and thank goodness Governor Youngkin won to be in a situation to issue this pardon and barack obama came in and this is a tripped up culture war. The Superintendent Ziegler was at after he had briefed about the assault, told the school board they asked him, has there ever been a record of assault in the restrooms and he said no. While the judge in that case sentenced masterson to 30 years to life in prison for those crimes, the couple sent the letters to the judge just before the sentence was handed down so apparently their letters didnt have much impact. The thing is of course there are victims here and one of which reached out to journalist and what she wrote, jane doe no. 1 aka jen b and one of the women he was convicted of raping and texted me her reaction to this video and it was incredibly insulting and hurtful and i hope they learn radical accountability and importance of selfeducation and learning when to keep their privilege in check, especially ashton that claims to work with victims of sex crimes and to mila, i can only think of times up. But after reading the story and kind of looking into this, they were friends with this person for 25 years and obviously felt like they knew him. When they wrote these letters, again, they were meant to be private, they certainly didnt mean for it to get out and certainly not to the victims. Its theyre trying to say what their experience is with him. Maybe they think hes wrongfully convicted. I dont know. Maybe i dont know what their actual thoughts are, but i think it was a private letter and not meant to get out and i think there are people convicted of crimes, and that doesnt mean there arent people in their lives that believe them to be a good person at some buoyant in their life. These Character Letters do mean something. If youre convicted of rape, these dr. Letters dont mean youll walk scott free but its okay that people that have a good opinion of him wrote these letters in confidence that they wouldnt get out because they did not want to offend the victim in any way shape or form. Thats my opinion. Well, i would say that its a completely fair point and i also think that if they think hes wrongfully convicted, they could say that but theyre trying to have it both ways theyre not questioning the verdict and theyre just trying to speak to the character that they knew.
