We also do testing, in cases i watch your broadcasts and read your information, your media outlet very, very carefully, and i look at the word cases, and i say it 100 times, nobody wants to pick it up, but we do testing at a level that nobody ever dreamed possible. We have the best test and by far the most tests actually, india, as per your question before, india is number 2. And they have done a good job, but they are about 40 million tests behind us, and they are a country of 1. 5 billion people. Now, because of all these tests, we have far more cases. If we cut our cases in half, if we cut our testing in half, we would probably have about half the number of cases. If we cut it down to levels there are some countries that dont test, they test when someone walks into the hospital, that is the test you get. They walk into a hospital, they are sick, that is your test. We have tested more and better, and you just see where we now have millions of tests coming in from a Certain Company thats done a fantastic job, and its going to be anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes on the spot, very accurate test, but if we had much less testing, no testing, you wouldnt be reporting cases. But you saw this i dont want to go over the statistics, you all wrote it down, but you see how we are doing compared to the rest of the world, and if you took out new york, which has been a tragic situation, with the amount of people that died reporter its still a part of the United States, new york is. We know President Trump critiques people who critique him and his feud with senator john mccain is well known. We also know President Trump loves meeting with military people, and he loves visiting wounded warriors, whether it is at walter reed, or he brings them into the oval office, he loves the pomp and circumstance of military events. We know the story claims he didnt want to go speak at a cemetery in the rain, but the very next day, he did just that, so we know based on actual, contemporaneous evidence that the story is not true. And we also know that the story is based on completely Anonymous Sources, and Anonymous Sources are participating in some kind of Information Operation against the president. I kind of wish we could do here is have an honest debate about what is really in play, which is their big Foreign Policy differences, including among some people who used to work for the Trump Administration. A lot of people dont believe, like President Trump does, that we should be exiting afghanistan after two decades there, but rather than how it was kind of conversations, we instead engage in the kind of smear operations, very much like what happened against brett kavanaugh, very much like what happened in the russia collusion hoax that was also based entirely on Anonymous Sources, and we dont have the actual debates that we should be having. Bret you know, there are unnamed sources who have confirmed other things, like his comments about the vietnam war. And these are different places than the atlantic piece about the cemetery in france, also at arlington, asking john kelly what was in it for them, but in a different context that is portrayed. Josh, how does this play . And the political impact of it . Well, heres the big picture. This is not the first time there have been documented videotaped comments of the president making insensitive comments about military service. You mentioned the john mccain, you know, the region back in 2015, but you will remember the 2016 campaign when he attacked and jim mattis wrote aand oped. Politically, i dont think it may be shocking, the anonymous quotes, but theyre not surprising to a lot of people who have followed the president. Politically, they tend not to move the needle, though i would note that there was a military times poll that came out this week, actually show the president trailing joe biden by four points with military servicemen, a big reversal from what we saw in 2016 in the same poll, so there may be some movement. Of the story may be making a lot of people rethink their assumptions. Bret clearly the Biden Campaign jump on this quickly, there is an ad already. Joe biden came out and talked to the press, he was very mad, passionate about his response, but caveated, saying if true, about the statements. I was struck, in that appearance with the reporters, steve, about some of the questioning really, all of the questioning. Here is just a sample. When you hear these remarks, suckers, losers, recoiling from amputees, what does it tell you what President Trumps soul and the life he leads . I wonder if you worry this kind of language that comes from a president of the United States could deter some americans who are tuning into him to not wear masks. You said today is the angriest youve been as a president of candidate . There are a lot of people out there who are supporting you are inclined to not vote for the president , who would say, why isnt joe biden angrier about all of this . Bret if i did a match up of questions the White House Briefing every day and those questions, its pretty stark. Yeah, its very stark. I mean, look, this is an opportunity. Joe biden has not submitted himself to media scrutiny, i would think when he does, reporters want to ask pointed questions about his policy preferences and the things he is setting out to do for the country, about the arguments he has made against donald trump, and not lob softball after softball after softball. But i have to say, look, i think it is important to point out, in response to mollys comments, foxs own Jennifer Griffin confirmed most aspects of the story. Jennifer griffin, i dont know of a single reporter at fox who i have more confidence in her reporting than i do of Jennifer Griffin, and she used Anonymous Sources. When you are defending the president , why is it okay for you to use Anonymous Sources, but not for other people who are trying to get to the truth . I think there is a real debate to be had about the use of Anonymous Sources. But i dont think the use of Anonymous Sources should be dependent on whether it benefits democrats or republicans, it should be dependent on what we think about the use of Anonymous Sources, journalistically. Bret i guess, let me just point we ran jennifers part, and we talked to her about it, and what exactly she is reporting, they were not in the room on the decision about going to the cemetery or not. John bolton was. And obviously wrote a negative book about the president. And he was on camera today answering our questions about it. I mean, kind of, that does have a different look at it, since he was in the room. Yeah, very important. He said he was in the room when the decision was made, and he didnt care the present say that. He also told the times that he wasnt around the president all day, and its possible to present may have said these things at a different part of the day, so i think it is an open question. Look so i dont know whether story is true, i dont know whether these people say these things come i dont think anybody knows whether these peoples of these things, except for the people making the accusations. The issue is one person talking to people cant confirm another report because you dont know if it is the people you are talking to why the same people who gave it information to the first reporter. The contemporaneous evidence also supports the claims made by those speaking on the record, and that is always the journalistic standard.
