Chief White House Correspondent john roberts talks to us on the north lawn. Good evening, john. Where you were where just this morning. Good evening, bill. Foxs tells dash President Trump will put in tariffs on foreign metal, 10 for aluminum, 25 for steel. President trump promoted his plans to employees punitive tariffs on aluminum and steel, tweeting in the last 25 years, and america has lost more than 55,000 factories. 6 Million Manufacturing jobs, and accumulated trade deficits of more than 12 trillion. But in the face of retaliation from americas closest trading partners, press secretary Sarah Huckabee sanders and said there could be some carve outs. There are potential carve outs for mexico and candidate based on National Security, and possibly other countries, as well. Speak with a pronouncement with a sharp aboutface for the president , who on friday tweeted, tariffs on steel and aluminum will only come off of new and fair nafta agreement is signed. It happened as first son in law Jared Kushner what a delegation to meet with mexicos president today about nafta. A trip he was able to make despite his degraded security clearance. The European Union has threatened to hit President Trump politically if he imposes tariffs. The e. U. Says it will strike back with tariffs against u. S. Goods, like bed linens, chewing tobacco, motorcycles, cranberries, and orange juice, all produced in swing states the president s won. It will hit them where it hurts. As he prepared to take the hit . The president is prepared to direct our country. That is the number one priority he has as president is to protect the economic and National Security interests. Tariffs were a big reason to have Economic Advisor gary cohen decided to call it quits. The straw that broke the camels back, according to an official. Hes a fierce opponent of tariffs. He was also facing the year were the leading Economic Policy would be rewriting trade deals he didnt think should be scrapped. The white house downplayed the notion that talented people were fleeing the west wing. This is an intense place, as is every white house, and its not abnormal that you would have people come and go, but we are continuing to do great work for you to speak of the white house also held over the possibility that cohn could return. He could be a top choice for a cabinet position when theres a vacancy. They maintain a strong relationship and will continue that relationship and certainly gary will be an advocate for the president and a number of ways. I am not closing the door. President trump also alternately played a good copbad cop with china. In a tree taking aim at chinas legacy of bootlegging, warning, the u. S. Is acting swiftly on intellectual property theft. We cannot allow this to happen as it has for many years. At the same time, he revealed a plan to help level the Playing Field on trade, tweeting, china has been asked to do is develop a plan for the year in the 1 billion deficit in their massive trade deal with the United States. Sources tell fox that the president will sign the order on the tariffs tomorrow afternoon at 3 30. That is a halfhour before before the stock market closes, and the stock market has not had much of an appetite for tariffs lately. Bill we watch that. Thank you, john roberts, from the white house. Meanwhile, an adult movie star is making more allegations against the president tonight. While some consider this a growing storm that is going nowhere, others contend it is a cover up in the making. Correspondent kevin corke sorts through those claims tonight. The president has denied the allegations against him, and again, this case has already been won in arbitration. Anything beyond that, i would refer you to outside counsel. While the white house continues to suggest that the Stormy Daniels story is pure fiction, the legal ramifications of the ongoing controversy are all too real. Daniels, whose real name is stephanie clifford, claims in a lawsuit that her nondisclosure agreement, promising not to discuss or large past relationship with the president when he was a private citizen, is now invalid. We believe the nda will be tossed out. We believe it will show that mr. Trump never signed either document and therefore, shes free to tell her story. Mr. Trump has denied ever having had a relationship with daniels. Many legal experts believe the agreement is valid. The contract was signed by the president s private attorney michael cohen, by daniels, by her attorney, notarized, and daniels took the money. 130,000 that cohan says he paid. As a new tactic. Earlier, the daniels team claimed that he violated the nda. Now they say the missing signature of david denison, a. K. A. The president , is the issue. Still, Congressional DemocratsKathleen Rice of new york and ted lieu of california, both former prosecutors, has about the fbi to investigate the payment, which they believe to be in violation of federal election law, a position shared by the liberal leaning Watchdog Group common cause, which has filed complaints with the fec in the doj. What we really have is a woman who really wants to tell a story and a legal agreement about whether or not she can. At the end of the day, aside from the actual legal issues, trumps legal team needs to decide whether or not its worth the fight. The arbitration victory that Sarah Sanders was apparently referring to was a temporary restraining order that the president s private attorney was able to get from an arbitrator sometime last month. By daniels s attorney say that that ultimately can prove unenforceable because as they contend, the president never signed the nondisclosure agreement. Bill we will see if theres more to come on that. Kevin corke, thank you from the white house. Another disturbing report today on our countrys veterans. The internal watchdog for the Veterans Affairs department citing failed leadership and multiple levels. The incidents at the mic at the v. A. Occurred during the obama years, and paints a grim picture. The current v. A. Secretary david shulkin, whos been under pressure earned or hers own travel issues, was an undersecretary of health during that same period. He says he does not recall being notified of the problems that were reported today. From california now, a redhot issue went to a whole new level this afternoon. The administration is suing that state over its refusal to cooperate with federal law over illegal immigration. And its getting nasty in the golden state. Correspondent Claudia Cowan has that story tonight in sacramento. How dare you needlessly endanger the lives of our Law Enforcement officers to promote a radical open borders agenda . Attorney general Jeff Sessions threw down the gauntlet in california, blasting state politicians for their sanctuary policies, and accusing them of deliberately obstructing federal Immigration Law by protecting illegal immigrants. California absolutely appears to me is using every power it has come up it doesnt have, to frustrate federal Law Enforcement. President trump showed his support while speaking to the Latino Coalition earlier today. Its destroying peoples lives, so many. And were going to stop at the. The Justice Department is specifically targeting three california state laws enacted within the past year. One prohibits Law Enforcement from asking people about their immigration status and from participating in federal enforcement raids. Another gives a state officials power over dhs detention facilities, and the third offers protection against workplace raids. This lawsuit marks an escalation in the ongoing feud between thee Trump Administration and immigration advocates. Hundreds of whom showed up to protest, chanting shut it down and brock to blocking the street around the hotel. Californias democratic governor and attorney general angrily condemned the doj lawsuit as a political stunt, contending mayor states sanctuary policies are on solid legal ground. This is completely unprecedented for the chief Law Enforcement of the United States to come out here and engage in a political stunt, make wild accusations, many of which are based on outright lies. The lawsuit challenges some of our state laws, which are again, fully constitutional. In an exclusive interview with fox news shannon bream, sessions vowed to keep fighting. Somebody needs to stand up and say no, youve gone too far, you cannot do this, this is not reasonable, its radical really. And the Justice Department is reportedly now looking at other states that have sanctuary policies they could face legal action next. Meanwhile, and california, both sides are gearing up for a long legal fight, no matter what the district judge decides. The loser will appeal in this case will likely end up before the u. S. Supreme court. Bill. Bill thank you, and sacramento. Make sure you catch the entire interview with Jeff Sessions later tonight with shannon bream. That is fox news night, 11 00 eastern time on the fox news channel. The sanctuary state cracked outcomes as republicans are reaching out to latinos and others who could make a major difference in novembers midterm election. Correspondent peter doocy has that story tonight from capitol hill. The new republican plan to keep the house, house parties. There are no they are money in the community that support democrats. Rnc chair is meeting hispanic activists and voters in places like florida, arizona, nevada, trying to engage a constituency that broke for clinton over trump by nearly 40 points. But doesnt always represent a huge slice of the midterm electric to come by just 8 of totals in 06 come 10, an 14 according to exit polls. The g. O. P. Personal touch comes as primary voters sent two Hispanic Women to congress for the first time in texas history. Since the republican party, we will reach out to communities that havent traditionally been republican, that i dont know our message, and tell them about the good things that are happening in this country. The only way we can share our message is if we show up rates because the big concerns about republicans at a recent meeting in coral gables, florida, where the economy and solutions for hurricane ravaged puerto rico. And i am very sure that our president does not know a lot of the truth of what is really happening in puerto rico. Thousands of Puerto Ricans are still displaced and living in florida, which activists think represent an opportunity for the g. O. P. We believe that many, many families will stay and our job is to tell them the message of the republican party. A speaker dnc chairman tom perez tells fox as long as republicans are the party of trump, hispanic voters will be a tough sell. Latinos judge people by their words and actions and this president has made one statement after another and taken one action after another, disparaging and demoralizing, and disenfranchising latinos. Look at the puerto rican situation. Puerto ricans are secondclass citizens in Donald Trumps opinion. Republicans think they have reason to believe hotbutton issue affecting hispanic families will be the deciding issue in the midterm sprayed speak of a party that we had today, immigration did not come up, not an issue that any of these individuals talked about. So based on that, between now and november, look for republicans to try to highlight the economy and look for democrats to try to diminish President Trump. Bill thank you, peter doocy from the hill. Also from texas, democrats and republicans setting new records for turnout in tuesdays primaries. They are the first elections of the midterms season, they are already underway. It was a big day for women, too. Of the nearly 50 running for congress, more than half won the primaries or advanced to a runoff. Democrats have not won a statewide office in texas in 24 years. The federal government is hitting the pause button tonight and what could be one of the biggest and most consequential Technology Deal ever. It involves an American Company and the administrations concern that a hostile foreign takeover could jeopardize American Leadership and a critical industry. Correspondent Julian Turner looks at what is at stake and not deal. We will stand up to any country that unlawfully forces American Companies to transfer their value technologies. As the world race to develop a 5g, a single takeover is starting to undermine americas Competitive Edge in the tech sector and jeopardizes National Security interest. San diegobased qualcomm is currently leading the pack when it comes to 5g research and development. But a Singaporean Company called broadcom is now making a bid to acquire qualcomm for a staggering 117 billion. One of the largest deals the tech sector has ever seen. Experts now worn that where the deal to go through, qualcomm, an telecom, would be forced out of the 5g race, handing a victory to its chinese competitors. Americans that should be concerned that if china does this, and first of all, they are going to dominate Global Communications of the wireless area. Also, that they will be able to spy on americans because 5g will connect many devices in your home. 5g technology isnt just for your tv or phone. It will be used in the future for selfdriving cars, and wireless virtual reality. The Trump Administrations committee on Foreign Investment in the United Statess intervening to put the deal on hold for one month while it undertakes a review, saying, any other potential merger between broadcom and qualcomm could pose a risk to the National Security of the United States. Senior lawmakers are also concerned about the risks. China has made no secret. Theory have a national strategy, theyve announced it, theyve implement it to vacuum up Startup Technology companies and other companies that produce dual use technology that has National Security implications. A former National Security official who is familiar with qualcomm tells fox news that assured this deal go through, it would effectively forfeit the future of american 5g. Bill . Bill thank you. Gillian turner, well watch out, as well. In a moment, Great Expectations or just a tease. The latest reaction to north koreas reported offer deposits nuclear program. Bill many in the northeast are still trying to dig out or dry out from last weeks major winter storm and tonight, they are in the early hours of another serious Winter Weather system. Damaging winds and wet, heavy snow are in the forecast and correspondent bryan llenas shows us what is happening from suburban boston. In quincy, massachusetts, is a waste race against mother na, less than seven days after the coastal city was pummeled by a massive winter storm, residents hurried to clear debris before the second noreaster in a week hits. I dont have problem atomic power, i dont have heat. A moderate coastal Flood Warning is in effect massachusetts five days after 7 feet of water submerged quincy, damaging 100 homes. And in new jersey, slushy conditions causing the salt truck to tip over. With the weather comes travel chaos. More than 2600 flights cancel agents nationwide, mostly in the new york area. Bill . Bill it looks and feels frigid already. Braden ens, you be well, and your crew come i think you outside boston. From your talk on my High School Student is facing multiple charges after trying to detonate a homemade bomb. That happened monday at Pineview High School in the town of st. George, utah. The suspect is also being questioned about raising of an Islamic State flag at another Area High School last month. From florida and outcome of the accused high School Killer nikolas cruz was formally charged with 17 counts of firstdegree murder today. It has defender saying that he will plead guilty if prosecutors agreed not to pursue the death penalty. Gl records now indicate that a cruz is being held in solitary confinement. Officers report that he often sits in his cell with a blank stare and avoids eye contact in jail. Markets were mixed today. The dow dropped 83 points. S p 500 off about a point and the nasdaq was up about 25 points in trading today. A look at how some of the latest numbers are affecting the economy and the stories surrounding that, Deirdre Bolton from the fox News Business network, live in a snowy new york city tonight. Good evening, bill. New information on how much america is buying and selling is of course affecting the town. We saw that earlier today. The trade gap widened in fact to its largely monthly level in more than nine years. Investors focused on the number because its big and it caused wow because economy say President Trump will see it as justification for his plan to terrify the president has been vocal about wanting to reduce the trade deficit, and he sees the current tariff plan on steel and aluminum, the one he is proposed, as one of the best ways to do it. Many business groups and economists, they are opposed to the proposed tariffs, they fear about trade wars will follow. Foreign citizens and businesses will not want to buy american products. Chief Economic Advisor gary cohen long recognized for his freetrade views, resigned last evening. That added to investor concerns that the u. S. Could soon find itself in a global trade war. One of the potential candidates to replace cohn shares the president s views on trade. Peter navarro. Hes the Current White House trade advisor, so hes argued in favor of tariffs, but he says the president has other candidates in mind. Others who may be considered, cohns top tax official, she here at night, Deputy Assistant to the president , kevin former assistant to george w. Bush george w. Bush. Larry kudlow, conservative commentator. And even omb director mick mulvaney, though hes a long shot. What is clear, most investors favor a candidate who is for free trade are more favorable trade with allies, so some traders telling me the markets stopped falling when White House Press secretary Sarah Sanders hinted that tariffs could include carve outs for mexico and canada based on National Security. Bill coming together. Thanks, Deirdre Bolton, nice to see you in new york. And this is a fox news alert room here in washington. Bill we are learning more tonight about what happened to a former russian spy who once worked for the birds and wound up in prison for it. Now he and his daughter are fighting for their lives. This seems to be a mystery right out of a spy novel, and we have more details tonight from londo london. Cctv footage captured them as they enjoyed a sunday stroll through the english town of salisbury. Minutes later, the russian double agent at his daughter would be slumped over unconscious on a park bench. Today, Police Officials provided the first details about the poison they say was deliberately used it to try to kill the two. This is being treated as a Major Incident involving attempted murder, by administration of a nerve agent. He was part of a prisoners property in the United States and russia. He resettled in the u. K. After he was convicted and jailed for revealing the identities of russian spies to britains secret intelligence service, and my six. Investigators are treating a sprawling crime scene with extreme care. Italian restaurant and pub where they dined have been cordoned off. A policeman who responded to the scene is in serious condition. This is not the u. K. s first brush with an unusual poison. In 2006, another former russian intelligent agent turned kremlin critic, alexander, died after drinking a cup of tea laced with the radioactive isotope polonium 210 210 in a london hotel. Britains foreign secretary said its hard not to see this similarities between the incidents. Boris johnson also warned the russians, if they were behind it, britain would take action. The kremlin denies involvement. What happened to him has been immediately used to further incite antirussian campaign in western media. The situation has been developed in a traditional manner, with traditional ideas, that clearly show a madeup story. The authoritys main theory appears to be that the kremlin was behind this. Russias already troubled relations with the west are about to get even more completed. Bill . Bill thank you. Reporting in london. From asia, the president of south korea saying that sanctions on north korea simply will not be eased based on the hope of talks over its nuclear program. The statement aimed at tamping down concern over a reported offer from kim jong un that hints at a breakthrough on one of the worlds most dangerous matters. Correspondent projects and reports tonight at the state department. Senior u. S. Officials and World Leaders are diminishing expectations for possible Nuclear Negotiations with north korea. Translator this is just the beginning. I believe we are not yet at a situation where we can be optimistic. South koreas president said sanctions will continue against north korea, even as north and south korea meet next month at a cemetery of secretary of state Rex Tillerson and still pushing countries to cut off trade with the north, as for north koreas offer to negotiate its nuclear program, senior officials and analysts say they have seem a support before. This is not our first rodeo. Weve been on this before. Weve had eight International Agreements with north korea, all of which failed. I think its good to be deeply skeptical, although we should try again. In the 1950s, with the help from the soviet union, north korea began its nuclear program, insisting it was peaceful. In 1985, i signed on to the Nuclear Nonproliferation treaty. Promising not to develop nuclear weapons. But by 1989, satellites discovered evidence of a Weapons Program. The north korean playbook really consisting through three generations is really a two page playbook. Its provocations and threats and even attacks, and then the second page is charm offensive. 1994, north korea threatened to withdraw from a nonpreferred ration treaty. In an agreement with the u. S. , pyongyang committed to freezing is plutonium plutonium Weapons Program in exchange for aid. Years later, the u. S. Discovered evidence of weapons development. By 2002, the u. S. Had north korea admitted to having a clandestine nuclear program. Then north Korean Leader kim jong il interjected International Inspectors from the country. Months later, he withdrew from the nonproliferation treaty. Years of negotiations with regional countries followed and in 2006, north korea detonated its First Nuclear bomb. As u. S. Negotiates the security issues, there are economic pressures between the allies. President trumps proposed tariff on steel would hit significantly and likely south korean producers. The u. S. And south korea are also renegotiating their free trade agreement, the when the president has called horrible for the United States. Bill thank you. Rich edson from the state department. Agents to incredible work every day, they are not backing down, they are not being deterred. Is a political stunt, its not about the truth, its not about protecting our state, its about dividing america. They are talking about going to the Supreme Court. This lawsuit is going to last a lot longer in the Trump Administration. Speak up in thwarts the law, those criminals dont all stay in california. Theyll go to h adjacent states. Bill some of the reaction to the Trump Administration going to california and declaring that it will take it to court over a recent state laws passed there to protect illegal immigrants. Want to bring in our panel right now, redhot issue, stephen hayes, editor and charger mara liasson, and byron york. Great panel. I said see you tonight. A good fight here, steve. Right is a go . You got to take a long view of the history come you go back to the mid1990s, california passed something called proposition 187, which among as many provisions, required local Law Enforcement to report anyone who is here illegally. Activists went to court to block it. 1997, a federal judge ruled in San California is powerless to end its own legislative to enact his own legislative scheme to regulate immigration. Lawyers for the activist groups, were ecstatic about this, saying, california has to have comply with federal law. We cant have separate schemes. The lawyer said the judge has vindicated the principle that we cant have 50 immigration policies. We can only have one. These same people are responsible for the laws that Jeff Sessions is fighting against today, and making the arguments that jerry brown and Javier Becerra and others are making. Bill youre making the argument that the Administration Stands a good chance of winning this. Who knows where the court will go. But the point is, hypocrisy, its pretty abundant. Bill i dont know where the guards are going to go on this. California feels that the feds should do is drop in immigration and they are state Law Enforcement officials shouldnt have to do the federal immigration authorities work for them. So the courts are going to decide this. But what this really is, as you said, its a huge, hotbutton issue. Its about immigration, illegal immigration, whether you pick up people, whether you ask them for their citizenship papers, and california has become kind of with a hotbed or the capital or the resistance of the Trump Administration and heres the latest. Bill a bout of evidence was in oakland with the mayors decision from a week or two ago about protecting what Jeff Sessions is saying, hundreds of criminals. Byron . I think the Trump Administration is on very solid legal ground. A more recent example, which is the obama lawsuit against arizona. You remember in 2010, arizona passed its own Immigration Law. The Obama Administration went to court to stop it. They argue that the federal government has preeminent authority to regulate immigration matters. Youll find those exact same words in the trump lawsuit against california. The Obama Administration won and the Supreme Court and i think in the end, the Trump Administration is on solid ground with this one. Bill we had a little taste of trump as i think from jerry brown. This is the tweet that he sent out earlier today. It reads at a time of unprecedented political turmoil, Jeff Sessions has come to california to further divide and polarize america. These political stones may be the norm in washington, but they dont work here. Sad. To borrow a word or a phrase from the white house. To put a fine point on this, california is really where the rubber meets the road on this issue. Just want to show you some numbers we got from a bed earlier today. 2. 5 million illegals live in california. That is a quarter of a total unauthorized immigrant population in the u. S. 70 of californias unauthorized population is from mexico. 42 have been in the u. S. For 15 plus years. 16 of i. C. E. Apprehension occur in california. This is where you go when you want to fight this issue now. It is. Weve seen california officials be more openly defiant of the federal government than folks elsewhere, the oakland mayor, whom you mentioned, los angeles has been a see through a city, now going on three decades or effectively a sanctuary city coming up three decades. A long fight. Its an intensifying fights. Bill meanwhile, mara, the president made an outreach today of sorts to latinos. Will play a little clip of his address earlier on the capital. Go get daca. Go push those democrats. We are ready. You know the expression, ready, willing, and able. We are ready, willing, and able. They are nowhere to be found. They dont care about the immigration system over a farm and they dont want to solve the problem. They would rather use it to get elected. Bill does the white house think it has an opportunity here . Republicans have thought that they had an opportunity with hispanic voters for a very long time. The theory is that hispanic voters are conservative on social issues, many of them own small businesses. They are kind of culturally, socially, profamily. They are ripe for the picking for conservative ideology and republican outrage. But along comes donald trump, who, on the day he announced his candidacy, came down the golden escalator and about mexico sending rapists, and hes had very harsh immigrants rhetoric. A lot of hispanic voters dont like illegal immigration either by Donald Trumps reason for rejecting the last daca compromise that came to him was because i didnt do enough to curtail illegal immigration. Family chain migration, which a lot of hispanic voters to care about. So i dont know whether donald trump has undermined or furthered the republican party. Bill the old argument. Where are you on at . I believe that trump did a poor intertwo better hispanic voters than mitt romney, but on the more immediate point of daca, we are now two days passed then what we thought a big deadline on this would really assent. The president is just waiting on democrats. I have thought for a long time that at some point, a strata daca legalization for the wall, real money for the wall, puttin, 20 million, really there, is a deal that is there still to be had. Bill why is that so difficult . Because the white house came back with a bunch of other things, including this chain migration provision that wouldve curtail illegal immigration by 44 . On that something that democrats wouldnt accept. And not to bill got 39 votes in the senate. It got much less then the wall. Bill there are some who believe that democrats in congress are not going to go to the white house for a signing ceremony for anything prior to november. Certainly not willing to pat this president on the back for an Immigration Reform bill. Whats our view . I think thats fair. Democrats believe that their ticket to success in november of 2018 is to oppose the president , post them at all times, and make the harshest arguments about him that they possibly can. Bill you would agree with that . I think theres a lot of politics being played on daca, absolutely. Bill thank you, panel. In a moment, President Trump on trade and tariffs and theres a lot of that today. But what a powerful life lesson. And dont worry i have everything handled. I already spoke to our allstate agent, and i know that we have accident forgiveness. Which is so smart on your guys part. Like fact that theyll just. Forgive you. Four weeks without the car. Okay, yup. Good night. With accident forgiveness your rates wont go up just because of an accident. Switching to allstate is worth it. I want you to pick a new truck for your mom or dad, knowing that they could possibly pass it down to you one day. Cool. But before you decide, you should know that chevy silverados are the most dependable, longest lasting fullsize pickups on the road. Which means that ford f150s are not. laughs which truck would you pick . The chevy. The chevy. The chevy. There you go. Boom. That was obvious. Plus it looks cooler. No doubt about it. Now they know what to get me. laughs we expect the president will figure it out by the end of the week of their potential routes mexico and candida based on National Security. Possibly other countries, as well. We are not trying to blow up the world. There is no intention of that. The president indicated the other day that he has a willingness to give an exemption to canada and to mexico. We are not looking into getting into trade wars. We are just looking for a free and fair and reciprocal trade. Bill there is a bit of reaction a day after gary cohen acknowledges resignation. Back with our panel to take this off and find out may be where the next step is. What do you think i must . I think the president got a tremendous amount of blowback even though this is something that he fervently believes that in and has believed in for 25 years. But he got a blowback from everybody, from plenty of parts of his base, agriculture, small manufacturing, republicans on the hill, business community, and now it looks like even though he said the only way he would give canada and mexico and exemption is if they negotiated napster to his liking, he seems to be backing up even further and consider giving them a and exemption. People are really worried about a trade war and they told the white house in no uncertain front terms that a trade war could undermine his great stock market, has great economy, and t them in november. Bill seems to be some wiggle room. Seems to be a lot. I think when Sarah Sanders mentions mexico and canada that means that they are serious, but 100 members of the house sent the president a letter today basically saying the appreciate his efforts but they wish they could narrowcast this a little better. I think in the end, you may have a Something Like a few other trump initiatives in which what starts out really big ends up getting smaller as i go through the policy machine, like what starts off as a muslim man ends up being a ban on some people from a six countries in the world. I think its entirely possible. The president has got to do something. Hes we out there almost. Bill lets just share two of his tweets today. They go right at beijing. Here we go on the screen. Perhaps aluminum and the steel debate is just the beginning of this and what comes later in march is a much more substantial argument on trade with china. Hes on very solid ground and making the last argument. I think what a bipartisan support for going after china on intellectual property theft. If you look at the original rationale the Trump Administration used for the president to implement these tariffs, it was a National Security rationale, and thats what they are allowed to do under this 1962 statute. So they are using a National Security rationale for opposing the tariffs but as are displayed in the clip from Sarah Huckabee sanders, shes talking about exempting mexico and canada, using National Security rationale. This is the kind of absurd policy that you get from the kind of chaotic, ad hoc process that byron is talking about. The president he made this announcement in a fit of pique. It was a planned out. The air the dash they are scribe the policy. Bill if you go after china, beijing will pushback. Mara. Could push better way back to the u. S. Or canada. Can i make a point about this . They want to try to make a plan to decrease their trade deficit by 1 billion . Chinas trade deficit is 375 billion for 2017. That seems like it should be easy but that seems like, you know, that doesnt mean too much to me. Intellectual property, thats a real issue. Thats what he should have been working on all along. Not the 1950s nostalgia for steel mills. Whatever is done is going to have to address the president s concerns about transshipment, the idea that china is sending cheap steel to other countries around the world which are then sending it here. So when the president is hearing someone saying, just 2 of our steel comes from china, he says, no, a lot of it goes to other countries. It is going to have to address batch. Bill my view of listening to Steven Mnuchin and wilbur ross earlier, they are ready for a fight, but i ran. The president has come out and said he thinks trade wars are good. I think this is going to get smaller and more focused. And if that happens, then it will have greater support on capitol hill. Bill mara, thank you. Byron, thanks. Stephen hayes, good to see a pretty fox news alert right now. Breaking news, tallahassee now, the Florida State house has just passed Gun Legislation spurred by the deadly shooting three weeks ago. Includes new restrictions on rifle sales and a program to arm some teachers in florida. The bill also provides new Mental Health programs for schools and a provision to keep guns away from people who show signs of Mental Illness or violent behavior. That bill now goes to the governors desk. It is not clear whether or not governor rick scott will sign it. He has made his own list of demands he would like to see signed into law in tallahassee, so we will watch that. Quick break here. When we come back, you can only learn at home.
