Believe her and want her to testify under oath. Meanwhile, democrats say issues keep dropping in the russian investigation. Chief White House Correspondent john roberts starts us off from the north lawn. Good evening. Good evening. While democrats tend to defend susan rice, republicans like senator Lindsey Graham say her track record which includes praising Sergeant Bowe bergdahl and getting blamed for the benghazi attack mean that when it comes to susan rice, you have to verify, not trust. Former National Security advisor susan rice did not deny today she asked for the names of Trump Campaign and transition officials to be unmasked in intelligence reports. Insisting that in general the practice was pretty routine. And orders understand the importance of the report and assess its significance, it was necessary to find out or request the information as to who that u. S. Official was. What she did dispute was an apolitical motivation in the unmasking. The allegation is somehow the Obama Administration officials utilized intelligence for political purposes is absolutely false. Her appearance stood in contrast to what she said the day House Intelligence Committee chairman devin nunes first aired his revelations about the unmasking. I know nothing about this. I was surprised to see reports from chairman nunes on that count today. Kentucky senator rand paul question how this happened, tweeting directive from obama . Paul calls on rice to testify over reports of unmasking request. The fact that there could be a political figure that was purposely searching a database looking for Trump Officials i think confirms exactly what the president said when he said the Obama Administration was doing something nefarious. Surveillance on the transition team. One issue the Obama Administration might have been interested in, links between a prominent trump donor and russian officials. Sources say that brother of education secretary betsy devos, blackwater security founder eric prince, met with a russian envoy before the inauguration. Sources say prints that within unnamed russian at the four seasons hotel. Prince and the white house denied the meeting was to establish a back channel to vladimir putin. Both denied that prince was working in any capacity on behalf of the trump transition. In an offcamera briefing today, press Secretary Sean Spicer described the reports of princes activities as flimsy at best. An occasional advisor to the Trump Campaign, carter page, is pushing back against reports three russian spies tried to recruit him in 2013. One of the three was arrested by the fbi. The other two fled to russia. In a statement of fox news, paige insisted he shared publicly Available Research documents, a few samples from the more detailed lectures he was preparing for a class he taught at new york university. Paige, who has business ties to russia, cooperated with the fbi in the case but complained his assistance was framed in an easily identifiable way consistent with the political motivated unmasking standards in the Obama Administration. President trump met this afternoon with a congressman, noted supporter of better relations between the United States and russia. He said before the meeting today that a brouhaha over nothing is preventing us from developing better relations with this very big and very powerful country. Bret thank you. More on this with the panel. Trump administration and House Republicans meantime are trying some political cpr on the effort to repeal and replace obamacare. Tonight, there is movement. A big meeting on capitol hill. The question is whether changes in the bill will change the vote total that flatlined their first effort. Chief Congressional Correspondent mike emanuel tells us within the new plan whats realistic tonight. Theres been a renewed push to get Republican Health care package passed in the house by the end of the week with the easter on the horizon. Vice president mike pence, reince priebus, and budget director Mick Mulvaney have been reaching out to moderates and conservatives. The president and i remain confident that working with the congress, we will repeal and replace obamacare. With Health Care Reform that will work for the American People and the american economy. Paul ryan tried to lower expectations. I wont get into the details of them to say this is all about getting to the conceptual stage but we dont have bill text or an agreement yet. One offer made to conservatives would give states an opportunity to seek a waiver of obamacare regulations, including rules for guaranteed issue regardless of Health Status or age. Essential Health Benefits and offering plants at the same price to all. One Freedom Caucus member did not sound impressed. They can ask us for permission, doesnt seem to be the best way to go about it. Opposing the original plan but backing this proposal. Speaker ryan hasnt agreed to the deal Vice President pence put together. We are ready to support it. There has been tension after members that Freedom Caucus wouldnt get guy last Month Health Care package. Illinois republican congressman adam kinsinger, a moderate, accuse the Freedom Caucus of undermining the g. O. P. Agenda in a New York Times oped writing its what they do. They move the goalpost, and once that happens, they still refuse to play. Another republican moderates have perhaps those conservatives learned a lesson. We are very happy the discussions are open. It was a wakeup call for some who voted no and went home. They may be did not get a ticker tape parade. For ryan, it remains a delicate balance. Its important we get the votes and the consensus of 216 members. There is serious concern among g. O. P. Leadership that this more conservative proposal has not gained any new vote so far and could risk losing votes from those who liked the original proposal. The Vice President , white house chief of staff and white house budget director are all due up on capitol hill this evening to meet with various grooves of lawmakers and Committee Chairs to see if this all can be worked out. Bret hearing that starts at 8 00 p. M. By g. O. P. Leadership not part of it. Trying to say this is a grassroots effort. No question. Effort to get all the relevant parties, conservatives, moderates around the table so its not spoonfed from leadership. Actually facetoface encounter between the white house officials and various lawmakers to see if they can get a deal the clock running heading toward the easter recess. Bret mike emanuel live on the helper we will have that covered as well. Thanks. Senators have begun their floor debate over President TrumpSupreme Court nomination, as you look live, senator cory booker from new jersey. Democrats have the votes to block neil gorsuch. Peter doocy reports the big question now is will they. It looks like forest republicans to go nuclear. To go democrats can stop republicans from using the Nuclear Option this week, so instead democrats are trying to scare them. Theres a reason they call it the Nuclear Option that and that is that there is fallout. Minority leader Chuck Schumer suggested and i hope President Trump had of working with Congressional Democrats during his time in the white house will evaporate if Senate President is changed confirm a Supreme Court nominee. Schumer is calling for something seldom seen on capitol hill these days, compromise. We should get in a room and come up with a compromise to avoid the Nuclear Option. Republicans dont seem too concerned. The question of how hes confirmed is up to the democrats. Mitch mcconnell doesnt think his colleagues across the aisle will vote for cloture to end debate on gorsuch and set up a final confirmation. It appears as if cloture will not be invoked but we will find out on thursday. Republicans are putting pressure on democrats to stop fighting gorsuch now, hinting they may want to wait in case President Trump has a chance to replace one of the courts liberals with a conservative. Frankly, i think the next one is going to be armageddon because the next one could determine how the Supreme Court is going to go for years to come. Changing the way the senate operates is what really alarms some republican lawmakers. A fatal blow to the senate would be changing the filibuster rules regarding legislation. That would end the senate as we know it. Leader mcconnell insist the Nuclear Option will never be used to pass a bill. It is for judges only. Theres not a single senator and the majority who thinks we ought to change the legislative filibuster, not one. Another prominent republican thinks this weeks maneuvers may not just change the senate but also the Supreme Court itself. Someday the democrats are going to be in the majority and we will lose the unique aspect of the way we should be doing business and it will result in Supreme Court nominees that are much more radical in either direction. This evening, one of the two independent senators, angus king from maine, announced he plans to filibuster gorsuch and then vote no on his confirmation prayer that means there are nowo filibuster. Still not enough to stop the Nuclear Option, not enough to stop the gorsuch confirmation. Bret peter, thank you paired what do you think, do you think Senate Republicans were forced to choose the Nuclear Option . Let me know on twitter at bretbaier. Use the hashtag specialreport. On facebook at facebook. Com bretbaiersr. We will have complete coverage of the debate this week. Russian investigators have identified a 22yearold man born in kyrgyzstan as the suicide bomber between yesterday subway attack in st. Petersburg. 14 people were killed and almost 50 still hospitalized at this hour. Authorities say the suspect was linked to radical islamic groups. They say his dna was on a second bomb that was deactivated. They have not said whether the bomber was included in the death toll. It is being called one of the worst slaughters in the sixyear syrian civil war. Dozens are dead from what is believed to be a chemical weapons attack in rebel held territory. Reporter katie logan has details. This was the scene of panic shortly after the suspected chemical attack in the northern syrian province. Doctors rushing to save lives, victims struggling for breath. Among them, young children. At least 11 children are believed to have died in the attack and as the death toll continues to rise, doctors warn many of the injured may not survive. I tried the ambulance prayed the last case died en route. The mother with three children and a father doesnt know where the kids are. They are displaced. Syrian Monitoring Group says the victims were choking and fainting. Doctors believe the symptoms indicate a gas attack. Sticking with the pictures are showing his lots of children and men who have been salivating, gross amounts of salvation around the mouth. That certainly is one of the features that is wellrecognized with that type of attack. Hospitals and Emergency Services were targeted immediately after the attack. Many of the injured had to be evacuated to turkey. The u. N. Envoy to syria described the attack as horrific. What we have understood is it was a chemical attack and it came from the air. We will be seeking all those who have the capacity to find out what happened. Observers say a chemical agent may have been dropped in an air strike. Its an opposition held area and Government Forces have continued to target rebels there. The u. N. Has accused the Syrian Government of carrying out gas attacks in the past. Over 20 people died in this chemical attack in aleppo last year. The government has always denied the allegations. The Syrian Military today repeated the denial. Its not yet confirmed chemicals were used in this latest attack. The u. N. Says if that has happened, it would be considered a war crime. U. N. War crimes investigators say they have launched an investigation into the attack in the u. S. Security council has scheduled an emergency meeting amid Widespread International condemnation. The white house has described the attack as reprehensible. Bret kitty logan, thank you. My house releasing a statement from President Trump. Todays chemical attack in syria against innocent people as reprehensible and cannot be ignored by the civilized world. These heinous actions by the bosh or alassad regime are a consequence of the past administrations weakness and the resolution. President obama said he would establish a redline and then did nothing. United states stands with our allies across the globe to condemn this intolerable attack. Lets get some analysis on this from michael waltz, a veteran of the war in afghanistan, and green beret and author of the book warrior diplomat, a green berets battles from walking to afghanistan. The impact, the significance of this and what it means for the war overall over there. I want to add to your point in terms the redline that we never enforced. Inaction has consequences. Tragic consequences. We knew in 2015 after the syrians had supposedly gotten rid of, with russian support, got rid of their chemical weapons that they still have them and still intending to use them and now we have seen them use them to tragic consequences. One thing i want the viewers to understand, it kind of makes sense sense. Lets let assad stay. Lets defeat isis. Right next to assad Regime Forces are russian tanks, planes, armored personnel carriers, irani and special forces and hezbollah. When you think assad, you need to think their close allies fighting run on the ground with them. For us to align with the assad regime or even allowed to stay is allowing russia a foothold in the middle east, allowing iranian influence and a base to attack israel. It has all kinds of consequences. What assad has been doing and what the russians have been doing is not attacking isis. They are not not attacking isis. I want to dispute, or disabuse everyone of that notion. There was no isis fighters where this attack just occurred. What theyve been doing is eliminating the middle ground and both of assad, iran, russia have been eliminating any middle option so that they leave the world with a binary choice. Choose me or choose isis. Of course we are not going to choose isis. Bret i want to talk about the policy, but from a war fighters perspective, we have people on the ground. We have two groups and the numbers have increased in recent months. On the ground in syria. What does this do logistically and from a war fighters perspective about how to deal with it . I can tell you from my time embedded with these types of tribes and with these groups, when you are fighting alongside them and earning, trying to earn their trust and theyve had their tribesmen, their family members gassed, attacked, bombed by assad and russian aircraft and now to hear that assad is okay, it makes it pretty tough for our guys on the ground that are trying to fight. They are focused on isis but when isis is done and defeated, they are going to want to shift to the assad regime. Bret they were going to have to deal with the chemical weapon threats. Thats right. Bret you had secretary of state tillerson say president assad will be decided by the Syrian People. Then you had nikki haley, and faster to the u. N. You pick and choose your battles when you are looking at this. Its about changing priorities. Our priority is not do we think assad is a hindrance . Yes. Were going to focus on putting the pressure so we can start to make a change in syria. The message being sent before this attack was assad is the sob. Its pretty incredible. Four days later, you have a mass atrocity by the regime. Im not sure the benefit of publicly saying assad can stay, even if that is maybe what we think could happen. One, its a concession we couldve gotten from the russians only get to the table and it makes it difficult, as i stated, for our folks on the ground. I think this thing is going to move to the point where both sides get exhausted with fighting before they get to the table, much like we saw in bosnia, in lebanon. Theres a lot of things we can do in the meantime grade we can still hit those chemical storage sites and his ability to use chemical weapons. We can create safe zones to easy humanitarian crisis that has completely destabilized europe and isis is using to infiltrate fighters but we can create a situation where assad doesnt believe hes winning anymore. They could come to the table with some type of powersharing agreement but i think assad is going to have to go. Bret mike, as always, thank you. Up next, why some u. S. Navy pilots are going on strike. Heres what our affiliates are covering. Fox 46 in charlotte. If you total your new bike, they replace it with a brand new one. Thats cool. I got a new helmet. We know steve. Its good to be in good hands . Bret some instructor pilots in the u. S. Navy are essentially on strike tonight. The issue, flying conditions they say are unsafe. Pentagon reporter Lukas Tomlinson has an exclusive. More than 100 u. S. Navy instructor pilots have refused to fly since late last week to protest what they say is the top navy brass reluctance to address a problem with their jets oxygen system. Multiple instructors tell fox news poison has infiltrated the air they breathe. They are grounding hundreds of training flights. Among the hundreds of student pilots affected, marine First Lieutenant michael pence, son of the Vice President. We dont have the smoking gun. We are doing a lot of things to assess the system, onboard oxygen Generation System as well as trying understand what might be getting into the pilot breathing air. On capitol hill, chairman of the Armed Services committee expressed outrage. Theres no questions there are problems being covered up. Im concerned about the issue. Its been getting worse over time. In an exclusive interview with fox news, head of u. S. Naval aviation says he takes his pilots complaints seriously. A team of specialists will meet with the pilots. Its not fly or else. I think we are acknowledging the concerns, hearing their voices, and working as hard as we can. Instances have hypoxia have nearly quadrupled. The oxygen problem in the cockpit extends to f18 hornets, causing disorientation and putting lives at risk as well as the Populated Areas they fly over. The team of specialists sent by vice admiral shoemaker got into a heat aid discussion. Expect the issue to call tomorrow. Still want Lucas Tomlinson at the pentagon. Thank you. President s top diplomat is talking with allies about the fight against isis. Rich edson is at the state department. Solidifying relationships with arab allies, secretary of state Rex Tillerson hosted jordanian King Abdullah and met with egyptian president Abdel Fattah Alsisi. Two weeks ago, he hosted representatives from nearly 70 nations all with the focus on defeating isis. One regional expert says there remains significant outstanding issues on the strategy. What do you do with the isis fighters . What do you do . Nobody is spending any time thinking about this. Its dangerous because it means in about three years, we will be back in those places fighting again. Senior state Department Official says they are focused on defeating isis and helping syrians develop a process to create a new serious. The official says isis is losing territory, financing, leaders. For the egyptian president , a second straight day of meetings in washington. President trump offered a strong endorsement. Think i want to let everyone know in case there was any doubt that we are very much behind president Abdel Fattah Alsisi prayed hes done a fantastic job in a difficult situation. We are very much behind egypt and the people of egypt. Major shift from the posture towards alsisi during the Obama Administration. Human Rights Groups have called his government troubling. The project secretary tillerson has responded to the reported gas attack in syria. He says the assad regime must be held accountable and says russia and iran are morally responsible and should exert their influence over the assad regime to ensure Something Like this never happens again. Last week, secretary of state said its up to the Syrian People to decide if and when the assad regime would go or stay. Bret rich edson live at the state department. I will be sitting down with egypts president alsisi, talking about isis and other topics during an indepth interview that will air tomorrow on special report. It will be his only interview here in the u. S. Boeing has signed a three billiondollar deal with in a running airline for 30 new airplanes. Its the first major sale by an American Company in the Islamic Republic since the Trump Administration opposed new sanctions. The deal for the aircraft could force President Trump to choose between two Major Campaign promises, taking a harder line against iran or defending American Manufacturing jobs. The new agreement comes on top of the 16. 6 billion sale boeing previously made in iran following the landmark nuclear deal struck under the Obama Administration. Baltimore officials plan to formally oppose a Justice Department request to postpone implementation of an agreement to overhaul the city police. The massachusetts Supreme Court is considering another controversial aspect of cooperation or lack of it between local jurisdictions and the feds. This time on immigration. Correspondent molly line explains from boston. Supreme Judicial Court in massachusetts is trying to determine whether Law Enforcement officers and courts can legally hold someone based solely on an immigration detainer request from u. S. Migration and customs enforcement. Critics charge these detainer requests or orders to keep someone in jail until the feds can get them are unconstitutional. Massachusetts Law Enforcement officers simply cannot make an arrest without a warrant just because someone asks them to. Even if the person asking them is the federal government. Lawyers for the Justice Department disagree, arguing that in the american system of dual sovereignty the United States ability to enforce Immigration Law depends on the cooperation of states. Of state officials choose to cooperate with the federal government based on the request, they have the authority. We havent seen anything specifically taking the authority away from them from our perspective. The case times from the arrest of a man who came to america as a refugee. Following a string of convictions, he was slated for deportation. Cambodia declined to take him and he was released. October 2016, he was arrested again, facing unarmed robbery charges. The commonwealth failed to prosecute and the Court Dismissed the charges. Lawyers asked he be released but after several hours in a courthouse holding cell, i. C. E. Stick with the Trump Administration is morning socalled sanctuary cities that a lack of compliance with federal immigration authorities could mean a loss of grant funding. Nasdaq and 4 paired President Trump says he wants to cut the red tape and speed up approval of Infrastructure Projects that could top a trillion dollars. The president hosted a town hall meeting of Business Leaders today at the white house. We are absolutely destroying these horrible regulations that have been placed on your heads overnight eight years. Over the last 20, 25 euros per you have regulations that are horrendous. Bret Fox Business Network liz claman joins us to tell us what happen. Good evening paired with everything going on in washington, you have the intelligence investigations, failed but possibly resurrected Health Care Bill the Supreme Court nomination. Is President Trump still on track with his promise to deliver jobs over ten years . Its a big promise but if today is any indication, it appears he is. He spent the entire first half of the day devoted to making one thing very clear. First to a group of about 52 ceos, g. E. To jetblue, and then to a large group of builders and union workers. The message was he wants to launch a massive effort for, as he put it, the great rebuilding of america. During both meetings, he unrolled a colorful scroll that his National EconomicCouncil Director had helped him put together. What the scroll demonstrated was sort of the byzantine regulations that builders have to go through right now just to green light road projects paid President Trump wants to vaporize what he describes as job killing rules and regulations so onerous that by the time a company got final approval through the entire move, sometimes the company has gone out of business. His infrastructure plan is not just for roads and bridges. Cited a plan to overhaul the nations air Traffic Control system, power grid, seaports. He warned it has to be a quid pro quo. He will get rid of red tape but he told those in attendance time would be of the essence, saying if you are not prepared to start any project within 90 days, were not going to give the money for it. He also reiterated his demand that pipelines like the Dakota Access and keystone and future projects like of course the border wall higher american and buy american. With keystone, he mentioned they purchase 70 of the steel from other entities. Can he get congress to rubberstamp this huge expenditure . Bret great question. He can do things regulatorywise but what you can get done with legislation is an issue. Susan rice says getting names of americans caught up in surveillance was National Security business, not politics. Republicans dont buy it. They want her to testify under oath. We look at the latest in all of the scandals in washington when the panel joins me. O wad to get clean. Mmm, cushiony. And we can use less. Thats absolutely false. There were occasions when i would receive a report in which a u. S. Person was referred to. Name not provided, just u. S. Person. Sometimes in that context, in order to understand the importance of the report, and assess its significance, it was necessary to find out or request information as to who that u. S. Official was part i delete nothing to nobody and never have and never would. I know nothing about this. I was surprised to see reports from chairman nunes on that account today. I believe susan rice abused the system and she did it for political purposes perch he needs to be brought in and questioned under oath. Bret well, there is he the back and obviously susan rice, former National Security advisor, knew something about that. Because she talked about it today. Even though there was a double negative about the i did not not leak. The point being the discussion was different than her answer to Judy Woodruff on pbs. This, democrats are saying this is no big deal. There is nothing unusual or alarming about the allegations here about the National Security advisor. She would have had to articulate and intelligents justification for doing that. This is exactly why we need a strong and thorough investigation to make sure that where there are allegations made, they are thoroughly investigated. Bret other developments s well today. Lets bring in the panel. Steve hayes, editorinchief of the weekly standard. Susan page, bureau chief of washington, usa today. Laura ingraham. A source i spoke to said it would be highly unusual for a political person at the National Security council to request the unmasking of individuals in these types of reports. Usually this type of information is pursued by the investigative body, not by the political apparatus of the president. And if it looks like what happens, that these reports were distributed to underlings, including unmasked names, theres really no reason to ever do that except for political reasons. There was no, i presume there was no imminent threat of a terrorist attack of the United States. If that had been the case, she wouldve given that information to the investigative bodies that wouldve been in charge of dealing with it, but thats not what tonight seems to have done. At the very least, she has a lot of questions to answer. It will be interesting to see whether she claims executive privilege which would indicate the president had some discussion with her or someone in their executive capacity. Bret we have reporting that there is some involved, intelligence that does not deal with russia and deals with extraneous things that had nothing to do with what we are talking about currently, day today washington bread whats your take on the susan rice explanation today with msnbc . Heart explanation was at odds with her explanation to pbs a while back where she said she didnt know anything about it. She is heaven sent to republicans because this is going to be investigated and if there was political reasons for her request for unmasking or if she leaked them, of course its wrong it out to be pursued. One thing i think democrats will continue to point out is its irrelevant to the larger investigation into whether there was any collusion by Trump Associates with russians and the meddling of the campaign. Bret maybe is not maybe its two tracks. Brit hume talked about two tracks yesterday. Theres really two investigations. What was unmasked and what was leaked in the investigation one investigation democrats are eager to pursue and one investigation republicans are eager to pursue and both are going to be pursued. Bret Andrew Mccarthy writes in a piece susan rices white house unmasking, a watergate style scandal. There wouldve been no intelligence needed for susan rice to ask for identities to be unmasked. If there had been a real need to reveal the identities, and intelligence need, the unmasking wouldve been done by the investigating agencies. National security advisor is not an investigator. Shes a white house staffer. President staff as a consumer of intelligence, not a generator or collector of it. If susan rice with unmasking americans, it was not to fulfill an intelligence need. It was to fulfill a political desire based on Democratic Party interest. Andrew mccarthy. And he is one of the smartest analysts on these questions. I dont agree with him entirely on that particular point. I think there could be intelligence need for a National Security advisor task is kind to ask these kind of unmasking unmaskings. What i think is most striking about the interview today, she said it was not uncommon for her to ask for these kinds of unmaskings. Everyone i have talked to with the experience this says such unmasking would be uncommon. How often did she do this . And what other circumstances . What i think is so striking about this is susan rice is a wellknown cereal prevaricate her. Shes been copped in an obvious lie caught in an obvious lie. How is it that reporters arent going nuts asking her questions about this. Why is she lying . Why did she lie about this . Bret howard kurtz could do a whole segment on who is covering this. Interesting experience with one of our reporters today on capitol hill asking what i think are the obvious questions. Given the news in the story yesterday, eli lake, obvious questions to ask. Why did she say a squat . How often does she do it . Members of the Intelligence Committee asking these question questions. Of the reporters asking questions of the same time were looking at her as if she were crazy. These are serious questions and we need answers. After the benghazi fiasco and she went on the sunday shows and there was a videotape that caused the attack. That in and of itself would disqualify most people in Corporate America from being able to represent a corporate interest, they had told untruths. She wanted to be secretary of state and she wasnt going to be confirmed so they had to put right National Security. That was rewarding her to the extent they could after benghaz benghazi. I think credibility is supposed to be important in washington and i think you are right. Where are the reporters . Are they staking out her house . Are they at the Brookings Institution trying to get more of an answer . There were occasions i would receive a report in which a u. S. Person was referred to. How many occasions . To anyone direct you to do this . To the president know, did the Vice President know, White House Counsels Office . There is lot of questions unanswered here and it seems like there are a lot of reporters that should be asking these questions. Bret on the other investigation, the other track, Washington Post headline blackwater founder held secret seychelles meeting. Erik prince, head of blackwater, who happens to be the brother of education secretary betsy devos, tied treasury secretary steven mnuchin. Held this meeting and met with russians, he says, in his statement, eric had no role in the transition team. Complete fabrication, that the meeting had anything to do with President Trump or the russians. Some are saying this is another shoe in the restaurant investigation. Sure there is not necessarily something wrong with erik prince being with the russian. It could be something that should create no suspicion. But its one of a series of meetings with highranking and wellplaced russians. People who at some kind of tied to doldrums campaign that have raised these questions. You wonder why we arent asking questions. Do you think theres any chance she wont be called to testify . Why are they reporters not staking out the Brookings Institute . Is not that reporters arent asking the questions. Chris cuomo this morning said he called it fake news based on the sayso of a susan wright associates. Thats not journalism. How can you not ask the question . A section of the Washington Post had not a single story about susan rice, not one. Bret howard kurtz special. To susans point, there are a number of she was the other investigation that will also raise questions and why these meetings happened. I have no idea what erik prince was doing or not. But i would say so what. Erik prince knew a russian who knew putin and erik prince, so what . Whats the big deal . Has this ever happened . If its just one back channel, its a so what aspect. But if you look at a back channel after back channel after back channel, you should start asking questions. Were they operative . Were they trying to get anything . We should be asking questions of both side. We know so little at this point, its important to ask questions and it worries me on either side of the argument when reporters are saying we really dont need to ask these questions. Bring them to testify. Seems like a lot of these people are offering to testify. Bret we would like erik prince, we would like susan rice to come on special report. Invited to answer some more questions. Next up, we talk a lot about a do over on Health Care Reform. Is it possible on capitol hill . . Were like a Basketball Team here at ally. The president and i remain confident that working with the congress we will repeal and replace obamacare with healthcare reform that will work for the American People and work for the american economy. That is not to say that we are ready to go because we want to make sure that when we go we have the votes to pass this bill. We have got the consensus that we have long been looking for. Healthcare. Not much new. Just federalism stuff. We have alternative. Its called the law as it stands today. Its called obamacare. Its called Affordable Care act. We want to approve the act. Brett well, the paddles are coming out. The evident to revive Obamacare Repeal and replace happening in fact tonight. Within an hour there is a big meeting. They are calling it a conclave actually on capitol hill with all kind of republican members. The Vice President , administration officials. This as the club for growth issued a statement today, put out a release saying the deal to repeal obamacare that Vice President pence is negotiating is a major step forward. If house leadership wont accept this new leadership to their bill, they will miss a key opportunity to put Obamacare Repeal back on track, taking improvements making repeal of okay. We have always known all sides would not get everything they sought and the final bill would be less than perfect. By doing new changes lower taxes and improve medicaid. Still repeal and replace obamacare. Back with the panel. Club for growth, interestingly one the conservative groups against the first effort and now they are saying its time to move forward. Picked up support there, its hard to see how the fundamentals of this Affordable Care act repeal have changed since they had to pull it from the house floor. You know, it doesnt look like they have gained significantly from Freedom Caucus. They may have lost among moderates. There is substantive plan here how you make a plan to works. Until you work that out, it seems unlikely they will be able to move forward legislatively. Brett laura. Freedom caucus member i spoke to said a long way to go. The pressure put on these guys from big donors in their districts is huge. We got multimillionaires calling up and saying you have got to get something done here. Have you got to put points on the board. They are feel the heat there. They know they are never going to get a full repeal. Thats never going to happen. Thats what he told me. Not going to get a full clean repeal. Brett it is possible . It is possible but still not driving the costs downward as they want to do what these improvements. Brett the plan i heard on capitol hill is get something through the house quickly. Get it over to the senate. Let rand paul and all those folks fight it out. Then get two things to a conference committee, which is how congress used to work. A house conference. A senate conference. They come together, conferees and iron things thought negotiations. Thats the pitch being made to these house members. Yeah. I think if you are a member of the house and you have supported this in the past, thats what you would like to see happen. If you are a member of house leadership thats what you would like see it happen. The big question is when it goes to the senate. Far from clear that even if the house is able to get the number of votes, i think by appealing to the house Freedom Caucus members perhaps adopting additional proposals that they are floating either have floated last night or will be floating in the coming days to get to the requisite number of votes in the house. What happens in the senate . You already have people who have basically opposed to the broad structure of this legislation. And if they are opposed to the broad structure and they argue it doesnt dismantle the architecture of obamacare, a tweak here and tweak there doesnt necessarily get them the religion sit number of votes in the senate. Brett all right. Yes or no. Something out of the house lets not say before break. Because thats closing in. Lets say in coming weeks, yes or no . Im 51, 49 yes. Brett youre always that way. I dont see how they do it. Lawyer lawye yes. Brett are you sure you dont wan 50 50. Brett appreciate it final thoughts when we come back. First 100 days hosted by dana perino tonight starts right now. Dana breaking tonight, president obamas top security official, susan rice, breaks her silence on her role in unmasking american citizens as she faces increasing calls from lawmakers to testify in an open congressional hearing. Im dana perino in for martha maccallum. This is day 75 of the first 100 days.
