The white house dismissed the republicans leadership decision to take the benghazi discussion to the next level. Its a Conspiracy Theory based on a Conspiracy Theory. The speaker called for a select committee. Citing the administrations failure to comply with congressional subpoenas. These documents reviewed by fox news show there may be other problems. Two emails from september 14th, 2012 were released as a result of a federal lawsuit by the conservative Group Judicial watch while most of the document was redacted, the name were not. But the same email sent to capitol hill had the names dropped. Why is it they are redacting the names for us and not for Judicial Watch . Its because they dont want the Oversight Committee and the United States congress to understand who was involved in these discussions and when. While fox news has not reviewed all of the documents sent to congress, the same pattern is found in the september 12th email. The Judicial Watch document has fewer redactions and there were other discrepancies. This unclassified email was retroactively classified by the state department. While the Judicial Watch copy was marked secret, the capitol hill copy was mashlinged confidential. They saw the same thing when Osama Bin Laden was killed by navy s. E. A. L. S. For example, a body wrapped in a burial shroud, theres nothing classified about that. While addressing none of the allegations as part of its defense, the state Department Released the email that tried to shape the public perception. They are undecided about the select committee and whether she they should be involved. In his briefing today, jay carney refused to say if the white house would cooperate with that new House Committee investigating benghazi and he complained that they have already been seven such investigations. The facts he said will not change. Hes right about that but the problem is we still dont know the facts. We still dont know exactly where in the white house the president was that night or what he was doing apart from being briefed and expressing a general wish that our diplomatic posts shubed secured. Nor do we know exactly what then secretary of state clinton did that iet or where she was. And we certainly dont know where susan rice came up with her assertion days after the attack that it all stemmed from a protest that got out of hand in reaction to an internet video. Yes, secretary clinton did make a vague reference to that video in the statement the night of the attack. In less than 24 hours, the top clinton aide had laid the attack on terrorist al that rhea. Susan rice and president obama and clinton talk about the video anyway. Suggesting it, not terrorism triggered the attacks. That did not fit the facts, but it certainly fit the political need for a president up for reelection. What about the select committee, if democrats dont choose to join and cooperate with it and to put people on this panel, what does that mean . It will hurt the investigation. This investigation is not being conducted in the usual atmosphere when such a committee is formed. Usually theres a huge media storm going on, participation becomes kind of a political necessity for people in both parties, thats not the case here. If the democrats choose not to play, it will be play out as a totally partisan investigation. On the other hand, they may want to put members on it as part of a rebuttal squad. Now to the escalation of fighting in ukraine. Dozens have died since friday in clashes between pro Russian Forces and ukrainian troops and protesters. White house Officials Say they are extremely concerned. The evolving debate about how the west should respond. Reporter three weeks before crucial national elections, the violence in ukraine continues. Pro russian protesters said a number of people were killed and injured today, including this mans daughter, the victim of a stray bullet. The concern is that the protesters with Russian Support are june mining the may 25th vote at least in eastern ukraine. We have the low vak republican thats ahead of us in math. Unless we increase the standards for our kids, were going to continue to fall further behind. The question is should be we troubled kids are having difficulty reaching high standards . The answer is no. We know our kids can do this. Some of it is a little confusing. You are obviously a support of of Charter Schools. Im a supporter of effective Charter Schools and we have some incredibly Charter Schools in our country and also some not so effective. The ones that are doing really well, they implement a lot of practices that can be replicated by Public School districts. They are extending school days, and school years. There are a lot of things that i think charters are doing that we can learn lessons from. Last one, finn writes what is the measure of an effective teacher . A test . Is education more than that . Absolutely. Education is much more than just what can be measured on a test. At the same time, when you look at the quality of the teacher and how effective a teacher is, how much they move student achievement gains academically should be part of that but the bottom liep is we should be looking through multiple lenses at how effective a teacher is. We should be looking at classroom observations and things like students and parents surveys and feedback as well as the test score gains that they are seeing for their kids. The email just came out last week after a subpoena from congress a year ago. Theres been a lot of investigations but theres also some new developments. I cant think of one real pertinent fact thats been revealed in these new documents. Hillary clinton testified if you recall before the committee. So everybody has had a shot at her. Besides admiral mullen and ambassador pickering. They said they didnt see the need to interview her. Isnt that a little strange . No. That was their decision. Unless you want to impugn them it did not seem strange to me. They had access to the state department and they made a decision as to how they wanted to conduct their investigation. To come back and say this is Hillary Clinton ais fault, that leads to derailing a political issue. Shes in the lead of anyone in the republican side. I think its an attempt to derail this. I think that the president predica predicated on the idea that there will be no new information to come out of this. New information, unknown, unknown, to change all of these things and at the very least, getting some simple questions answersed you are absolutely right, there have been an unlimited number of investigations. Theres been a very limited number of answers from the white house. My colleague at the American Enterprise institute has a couple in the washington post, look if you think this select committee is not worth doing, very simple way to do, release the president s daily brief that he gets from the cia and the intelligence community. It will say whether or not they vawled the video as a high priority, low priority, all that kind of stuff. It will be mitigate the need to talk about the idea where the video came from. Release the president s schedule while you are at it. If they have got nothing to hide and this is all just sort of spinning wheels, why havent they released that information to get the republicans to call off the dogs. I think the most interesting information thats apt to come out about this is what the military could or could not have been have done for the night. Which would be educational for the American People to understand. The reach of our military is not instantaneous. That is creating on the conservative grass roots side i havent seen anything like this in years. There is a real passion against it. In addition to that, then you get this highly politicized environment in which i think people see it as government overreach. This is Big Government now coming into the schoolhouse and impacting my child. And, again, i think its important to state for the record that this was something that the governors initially did. And most republican governors were on board at that time. In combination with the council of chief school officers. This wasnt a federal government initiative. The second thing to say is the obama folks dont have anything to do with it they are supporters as jonah said in terms of race to the top. The importance of standards, as somebody who is a big supporter of Charter Schools and vouchers. I think the importance here is you simply dont write a blank check everything is fine and dandy. When president reagan was in office. He talked about a nation at risk. Because we want our kids to do better. And i dont think its out of place for our governors, for our School Leaders, local School Leaders to say here are the common standards in which we want them to achieve. The military is on board. Chamber of commerce is on board. You know, even the Condoleezza Rice and the council of Foreign Affairs on board. They are all wrong and here is why. The advocates of the common core say if you like local control of your schools you can keep it, period. If you like your local curriculum you can keep it, period. If people dont believe them for very good reasons. This is thin end of an enormous wedge of federal power that will be wielded for the constant progressive purpose of concentrating power in washington so that it can impose Continental Solutions to problems nationwide. What are the chances, juan, that we have five or six creative governors experimenting with different curricula or one creative constant permanent washington bureaucracy overlooking our education. We have had 50 years now of the elementary and secondary education act. 50 years of federal involvement that has coincided with stagnation, in test scores across the country.
