The father along with his 11yearold and 12yearold sons the father was pushing the family truck on the side of the road. It ran out of gas. They are on the side of the road. A drunken driver plowed into the group and killed both children. Prosecutors claim the father then shot and killed the driver just minutes after the crash. He denies that and has from the beginning. Investigators never found the murder weapon and there was very little physical evidence that tied the father to the murder. Had the jury convicted him company have faced life in prison. Again moments ago a jury acquit the texas father accused of killing the drunken driver who killed his two sons. A mandateors are calling a serial killer is under arrest. There police say he shot and wounded her. The next morning about 20 minutes north of there, police say the gunman shot and killed a man in his truck at an intersection in pacoima, california. When the cops found the body engine was still running. Thats thursday. Move ahead to friday. He goss from pacoima down to West Hollywood. Two people in West Hollywood said a man pulled up to their suv and shot them three times. Actually shot at them. And he missed. Then lets move forward to saturday. On saturday he left West Hollywood and went back to pacoima and the gunman shot at three dogs killed two of them. The animals owner said he recognized the shooter after his suv broke down in front of their house a week before. Now sunday morning he went over to san fernando where cops said some guy shot and killed a 23yearold woman and injured her parents while on their way to church. That same morning, in sylmar a man shot and killed a man walking to a rec center north there was. Ten minutes later back in pacoima cops say a gunman gunned down another woman who was waiting for her friend before church. When they arrested the suspect on sunday they found a pistol grip shotgun that they believe he used in those attacks. The guy is now in jail on 1 million bail. No violent offenses but an exgirlfriend got a restraining order against him because she told police she feared for her life as well as the lives of her two young daughters. He once grab ad screwdriver and started stabbing himself repeatedly. At one time he jumped in front of her moving car and threatened to blow up her car. Police say with that and this you can see they are dealing with an unstable person. That seems clear. Police are also saying that they think there may be more victims. Why is that . One of the biggest mistakes the suspect made, apparently, was shooting the three dogs that you talked about because animal cruelty detectives were able to go out there and then matched his car to the scene, were able to come up with a name in just a few hours. They were in the process of getting a warrant for this guy when he shot and killed three other people and police still have no motive at all. Listen. We looked at that on sunday, we thought maybe there was a nexus between the victims. But there isnt. This is an individual that was out randomly shooting people. Thats what we believe happened here. Here on the east coast police say a 20yearold man is now in stable condition in the hospital after they discovered him wandering along a dark road bound, wet, and covered in stab wounds in his neck, leg and chest. Cops say when they found him they discovered the bodies of two other people in the schuykill river skabd and bound with duct tape. Somebody had use ad cement bucket to weigh down the bodies. Police say the man who survived told investigators four or five people abducted them, threw him in a van and robbed him before they threw him in the water. But somehow he managed to get free. And if you dont go to the source by air strikes in syria, youre not going to be effective over time in containing them in iraq and ultimately the big question is can you contain isis in iraq and syria, probably but can you defeat them . Probably not without the introduction of american Ground Troops and the president has said hes unwilling to do that and i think congress would agree with that. Back to syria. If, in fact, these air strikes happen, is that not, first, sort of de facto teaming with Bashir Al Assad and secondly how do we know when this campaign ends. Whats the goal and how do we know if its accomplished. To your last question its a vital one. The president said at the beginning of this a few weeks ago this will take some time to be able to contain isis. This is a strong group as your reporter said. This is a militant army. Its well trained. Its well financed and well equipped. The United States and our allies might be striking isis through the air for many months to come if not longer. The problem with assad is he cant have it both ways.
