This project stone thing, think about it , we know this was politically driven. All you have to do is look at the s. W. A. T. Team coming into get a guy that is being arrested for process crimes. It is important to people also to know that it is a threat to our National Security. The whole impeachment process was about our National Security. Harris kristin fishers live outside the white house. Kristin . Hey, harris. A federal judge has ordered the white house to explain the scope of roger stones clemency. This judge wants to know if it only applies to prison time or if it also extends to that 2year probation. Mack. He will save the White House Press secretary Kayleigh Mcenany clarifies that when she steps up to the podium any minute now. The judge set the deadline for tomorrow. Remember, harris, this is the same day that roger stone was supposed to report to prison. President trump has spent the weekend really defending his friday night decision to commute the sentence of his longtime friend and advisor while democrats have called it an abuse of power and an assault on the rule of law. He also weighed in over the weekend with an oped in the Washington Post, saying that roger stone remains a convicted felon. Rightly so. He says, we made every decision in stones case, as in all of our cases, based solely on the facts and the law and in accordance with the rule of law. The White House Press secretary responded to mueller on fox earlier this morning. Listen to this. In the body of the oped, mueller says there was no collusion from the Trump Administration pay what did Robert Mueller have to do to justify his investigation, waste of taxpayer dollars and east of americas time . He has to come up with process crimes, which is exactly what was done in the case of roger stone. Now the chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee, a republican Lindsey Graham, he said that he wants mueller to come up to capitol hill and testify. This is so interesting, because this is something that democrats have been asking for for quite some time. We dont know when or if itll happen but certainly something to watch for, as well. Harris . Harris that really is interesting the way you pointed out. Do democrats still want it . Grew quickly before i let you go yeah, they still want it. Initially senator Lindsey Graham had said that he was done with the Mueller Investigation, but over the weekend the fact that mueller decided to come out and write this oped, he says essentially if you can put this in the Washington Post than we would like to hear from you on capitol hill, as well. Kristin fisher, as you pointed out, we are minutes away potentially from that White House Press briefing starting. Well let you get backs you can cover that and we will go to you live as it happens. For now, robert ray is about to join me. Former whitewater independent counsel and member of the president s impeachment defense team. Great to see you today, robert. I want to start with something nancy pelosi said. I know you are familiar with the case against roger stone and how the law works, obviously. How is it exactly a National Security risk, with the president has chosen to do by commuting a sentence . To speak it down for us. You would have to assume that there was some underlying crime that was committed other than a process crimes. I dont mean to suggest, harris, that perjury, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and false statements are not serious. They are. I think that in part explains why the president did not pardon roger stone. He just commuted sentence. Nonetheless, the point of an investigation is to apply pressure. Sometimes using just process crimes, but to obtain information from someone like roger stone that constitutes something other than a process crime. The point, though, is republicans have been saying all along what President Trump in particular has been saying. That this was an investigation that began under an erroneous premise, that what was to be found here was russia collusion. Roger stone didnt have any information with regard to russia collusion, so they prosecuted him nonetheless and have tried to apply pressure in order to get him to cooperate. He didnt have anything to cooperate against the president. In a nutshell, Nancy Pelosis premise is in error. It presupposes that roger stone had evidence of russia collusion, and he didnt. Harris interesting. I want to take a look at how other president s and their choices, President Trumps predecessors, when it comes to granting commutations in particular. So far, he has issued 11. Former president barack obama commuted the sentences for more than 1700 people. Robert, what do you say about this comparison . Crocodile tears. I am familiar with pardons going all the way back to president bill clinton, and i prosecuted a number of cases that were process crimes. Again, for the purpose of trying to get at other information that was potentially available. Every president issues pardons, and the pardon power is designed to deal with situations like this, when you get close to the president s people. Sometimes there is overreaching. The fact of the matter is that both Robert Mueller and donald trump can be right about this. The attorney general, as well. I think they felt that what roger stone did was a problem, that the president has exercised his commutation power in order to extend mercy and to absolve roger stone. Not of the conviction, but so that he doesnt have to serve a sentence. Spew when you brought up bob mueller. Previous to you coming out of me was reporter kristin fisher. Senate judiciary chair Lindsey Graham says that he will grant the democrat request not to have former special counsel Robert Mueller testified after he defended the russia investigation in the oped he wrote over the weekend. Here is adam schiff reacting. Calmly scriptable call me skeptical. Even after ths announced, he said he thought it was a perfectly good idea. I suspect that all Lindsey Graham wants to do is continue his counterfactual counter narrative, that donald trump was somehow the victim. Harris robert, before i come to you with a question, i will make this comment. When you hear adam schiff there, its almost like the democrats dont want to take, yes, you can have bob mueller. What are you looking for here from both sides of the aisle . I think is more than happy to go before the senate. If its not any better with regard to the last time that bob mueller. I suspect thats a good day in this political environment for the republicans. I dont see that the democrats are all that anxious to shore up bob mueller. As far as theyre concerned about a counterfactual narrative, that is a disparaging comment. The truth of it is that the counterfactual narrative is actually supported by facts, namely that the Mueller Investigation did not really have a promise to work off of in order to do damage both to roger stone and more significantly to general flynn. That investigation has a lot of explaining to do and frankly would be, in the end, supportive of the president s position all along that Something Like this should never happen to another president ial campaign or president ever again. Harris one last topic with you today, we have a lot to get you. I appreciate your patience. The wall street Journal Editorial Board is urging the president to pardon former National Security advisor michael flynn, saying its time for the president to end this highly political prosecution. This would be very different from what would happen or what just happened with roger stone, commuting his sentence. This is a full pardon. Yeah, i dont think thats going to be necessary. Generally speaking, president s are reluctant to step in and exercise their pardon power if that would be essentially academic. I do believe that the courts ultimately will do the right thing here. I know it has taken a long time and everybodys patience has been exhausted, but i do not think the judge stepping into the middle of this thing yet again is going to be able to displace the right of the department of justice to end a prosecution. I believe, if he doesnt do it voluntarily, the court of appeals will step in and do it for him. Harris you and i have talked previously when this has come up with that particular judge. You have said, you may see a delayed process, we never thought that judge im quoting you to you now that he even had what it would take to stop this legally, completely. Completely. Your last final thought . I dont believe that he does. The on banc court of the d. C. Circuit, the appellate court, may have Something Different to say. That would it surprise me enormously. We live in a country where there is separation of power. The power to prosecute or not prosecute resides exclusively with the executive branch. Judges should not be in those waters. Period. Harris thank you very much. Thank you, harris. Be well. Harris you, too. A programming note. Sean hannity will talk exclusively with roger stone for the First Time Since the president commuted his sentence. Watch it tonight, 9 00 p. M. Eastern, right here on the fox news channel. Pop your corn, your night is made. Coming up, we could hear more from the white house on roger stone when press secretary Kayleigh Mcenany begins the press briefing. We are watching the lecture and they are, awaiting her arrival. We will take you there when it happens. Plus, Los Angeles Police officers are rallying against budget cuts. Harris Los Angeles Police officers are fighting back against the defund the police movement, staging their own rally this weekend against the City Council Decision to slash their budget by 150 million. The officers say the cuts are both demoralizing and a threat to Public Safety. Joining me now, Robert Harris, director of the Los Angeles Police protective league who ha. Think of her being with me today. First i want to start with, when you say demoralizing, morale is important. Weve seen across the country and different departments a spike in suicide, a tough nature for being able to recruit people. Whats happening inside the department when you say youre going to cut 150 million . I think it adds to an already depressed environment, and which are officers feel like they have been abandoned by city leadership. I think an excellent example of that would be local councilman mike vernon who actually ran for reelection on a platform, of Public Safety, and increasing the number of officers for the Los Angeles Police department. He begged our union to stand with him in that reelection campaign, and then he had the political disingenuous flipflopping and now he is one of the leaders calling for defining the apartment. I think that has a real tangible impact on the emotions and the morale of our officers. Harris you know, i want to talk about what happens just on the ground. We are seeing some things coasttocoast, defunding the police, retired Police Officers are launching a Political Action committee, for example. To help elect propolice candidates. Do you think thats necessary . Yeah, i think everything is on the table at this point. I think if we are actually going to move forward and try to find some Real Solutions that include Police Public outcomes that help the professional to professionalize our protectioprofession, weve beene forefront of those discussions in our state. Its important for leaders to behave like leaders. And to stop the volleying down and doing the flipflopping we see just because of bully tactics from some individuals within our community. Harris you know, robert, i am always wanting to have and i love having on the program because i know i can ask this question i get a deep answer on it no one is saying, no one is denying, that there arent some among the rank and file that either need to not be there anymore or never should have been there in the first place. That they are dangerous and we need to root them out. What kinds of avenues do you think we can find, and can you have that conversation and maybe put off any kind of defunding . Do groups like yourself, do unions have an ability to say, look, we will sit at the table, hit pause, and find a way forward . Absolutely. I think it begins with exercising some extreme ownership over our own profession, and lets call balls and strikes. The Police Detective lee has done that. To release a full National Plan when it comes to reform, and i think there are plenty of things that we can do to begin to root out officers who dont have the character or the temperament to be Police Officers. Weve talked about using a National Early Warning System like we had in los angeles to identify officers who need some mentoring and training before it becomes a problem. We have talked about a database that would keep track of officers who were fired for gross misconduct, so they cant be hired by other agencies. I think this league and the Police Department have adopted reforms for years now that i have really improved the way that we do policing in the city. I think we can be a beacon on a National Level if you bring rankandfile unions like ours to the table to talk about Real Solutions. Harris meanwhile, the violence im sure youre seeing this is surging in new york city. The nypd is reporting 28 shootings from just over the weekend. That is a 600 increase from the same time last year. This story is really popping today. A 1yearold little little boy was shot to death at a barbecue in brooklyn. They just held an event to recognize his life and to mourn him, just about an hour ago. All of this as a new video has popped up that shows a new York City Police officer being put in a headlock as a crowd is cheering, watching all of this, amid growing calls to defund the police here in new york city. Your reaction . Yeah, it sickens me, to be honest. Its very disheartening. Look, police, if we are defunded or are removed from some of our communities, the victimization of those communities will only increase. We are seeing the same thing here in los angeles. Our homicides have been up 32 versus last month. Our shooting victims went up 52 . That equates to about four los angeles citizens being shot every day for the last month. It is the Police Officer working in the community, working collaboratively in the community, that address some of these Violent Crime issues. I want to move beyond hashtag slogans and i want to be at the table to talk about how we can begin to heal. How we can begin to improve our profession and reduce use of force incidents. Theres a way to do it and weve done that here in california. Harris i hear you say that word, heal. Im always looking for those points of connection and moving forward, and that is such an important word, because it really encompasses with the nation has felt since the death of george floyd, and it encompasses what are feeling now. Cities are really being ripped apart by a collision of ideas and some violence in the center as we try to move forward. I just cant even imagine being that Small Business owner, that person living close to where this violence is happening, and wanting to call 911 and knowing that, if you cut the budgets enough, does that get impacted . You talk about safety. Absolutely. There is no way to cut funding to a Law Enforcement agency and not have real consequences that come along with it. Here in los angeles, we already have a difficult time meeting our Emergency Response times. If you begin to cut our budget, the first place we will go is we are going to slow or freeze hiring which means we will not be able to hire to our own attrition rates. The artman loses about 500 officers every year. If we dont maintain our current hiring standards, we will begin to see about 800 officers less over the next two years. The real question does become when you need help, when you call 911. Who is showing up . Harris you want as many people from your community im reading so much about how some communities are having they dont even know the people come in the neighborhoods. They are willing to do that job but theres a disconnect in the beginning and you want people to feel like they are part of a community from the getgo, to attack some of the issues that have brought us to this point in the first place. Citizens feeling like they can trust police, so on and so forth. Robert harris, its always great to talk to you, have you on the program today. I really appreciate it. Thank you. As we move forward, i want to have you back. Absolutely, thank you. Harris short. As we had promised, we are going to take you to the White House Press briefing. Just so you know, we are inside of it twominute warning. A couple things that happen. We are waiting for Kayleigh Mcenany to walk out to the lectern here, just to set this up. Some things she may be asked about. One of which of course is the commutation of roger stone, very close to the president , and the white house saying it was a process crime. That he was convicted of. The commutation does not wipe away the conviction. It wipes away what would have been starting pretty much expeditiously now, the 40 month prison sentence. You have that, that she may be asked about. Of course, the weekend violence that continues. He for the president talk about law order and how to deal with what is happening, in violence across the cities of america. You just saw me talking with Robert Harris there from the left coast, from los angeles. We do know that that can come up, as well. A whole host of things. I want to bring in the power panel now, lets get into the politics. Richard fowler, who is a Fox News Contributor and senior fellow at the Union Leaders counsel, former National Republican Congressional Committee communications director, as well. Matt gorman. Great to see you. Richard gets himself looking pretty there on the left, im going to come to the right. It just so happens the screen is oriented that way. To you, matt gorman. Just talk with me about, politically, with the president has done by commuting roger stones sentence. Yeah, look, one thing i wonder is whether the commutation is splitting the baby. Does it alienate those who wanted a full pardon and alienate others, maybe independence, who are Still Deciding who to vote for for president if he didnt want it . At the end of the day, it is all a distraction. Voters wont vote on roger stones commutation pay they will vote on the economy. They will vote on how he handed the pandemic. Harris richard, i can hear you. I think you are set. I want to get your reaction. Richard i am. Thanks for having me, harris. The privilege and drawback for being in a home studio. I think it is the president s power to commute whoever he wants. The most important thing to remember here is a process crime is still a crime, and roger stone has committed a crime and he is still a felon whether or not donald trump has harris im going to step in. Richard fowler, the press secretary has walked to the lectern. This is what weve been waiting for. The White House Press briefing. Secretary mcenany stories of families come positively impacted by laws that will take place after this briefing concludes pray the president stands with that Police Officers, our men and women across this country, who valiantly patrol our states and protect our citizenry. This president stands on the side of law and order to secure peace in our streets that has always been his priority and remains so today. Tragically this weekend he saw a devastating ambush attack against brave Law Enforcement officers in mcallen, texas. Officer garza, who was 45 years old, and officer chavez, who was 39 years old. While responding to a domestic disturbance call, officers garza and chavez arrived on the scene to protect the people they serve. They were met with gunfire, they were ambushed by violent and dangerous suspects who horrifically shot before they even drew their weapon or had a chance to call for backup. We honor the lives and the service of officer garza and officer chavez. This president will always stand on the side of Law Enforcement and the heroes who protect and serve. With that, i will take questio questions. Thanks so much. As a member as we continue to break records, the most recent interview, President Trump said we will be in really good shape in the next 24 weeks. Can you share what evidence he is using to draw that conclusion . And what is the administration going to do differently in the next 24 weeks to stop the spread . The one thing i would note is that, when you look at the mortality rate, we are seeing that our efforts here at the federal government have been working. To give you an example of that, when you look at new york and new jersey, there were 21 deaths for every thousand cases. 20 deaths for every thousand cases in the case of new jersey. Those were the ratios we were seeing just a few months ago. No new york and new jersey are down 1. 7 per 1,001. 8 per 1,000, respectively, and moving beyond new york and new jersey we are seeing in florida, for example, although they have 12 cases for every 1,000, it is. 2 mortality for every thousand cases. In arizona,. 3 deaths for every thousand cases. We are seeing that our therapeutics are working, that dexamethasone and convalescent plasma and remdesivir are working. That is something the president takes notes of reporter what specifically are you doing to stop the spread . Secretary mcenany theres a lot. I am very glad you asked about, because it is worth highlighting come of the work that we are doing each and every day. For one, we are surging personnel to arizona, texas, california. We already have people working in florida, surging remdesivir to states that are seeing rising case numbers. We are also surging testing supplies to decrease turnaround time. These are several action items that dr. Birx briefed me on before coming out here. The white house will be going to several states this week. Dr. Birx, we have sent 1988 just seems to metroplexes, eight more coming this week. We are aggressively on the ground reacting to this virus. We are encouraged to see the declining mortality compared to a few months ago. I havent seen you in a few weeks, glad youre back. Reporter why is the White House White house trashing dr. Fauci and sending out Opposition Research like memos to reporters . The president has gone off on the sources in the past. Why not have the guts to trash dr. Fauci with your own names . Secretary mcenany President Trump i will refer you back, there is no Opposition Research being dumped to reporters. We were asked to very specific question b by the Washington Post, and President Trump noted that dr. Fauci made some mistakes and we provided a direct answer to what was a direct question. Reporter has a present made mistakes . He suggested at one point that americans inject themselves with disinfectants. That sort of thing. Why not send out these notes to reporters about what dr. Fauci said in the past with your names on them . It was sent out by a white house official. The president said he doesnt trust anonymous sources, and yet you were sending out these notes to reporters anonymously. Secretary mcenany look, i would note that, in terms of the president and his record on coronavirus, he stands by the actions on the steps he has taken in this historic response. You have dr. Fauci, who said that the record of this president is impressive. I cant imagine that under any circumstance anybody could be doing more. Those of the words of dr. Fauci. We provided a direct response to a direct question, and thats about it. To the notion that there is Opposition Research and that there is dr. Fauci was the president could be further from the truth. Theyve always had a good working relationship. Reporter the president or the Administration Plan to make it very clear to the Russian Federation that there should not be bounties placed on the heads of american soldiers serving in afghanistan . Secretary mcenany we make that clear each and every day to every country around the world that this president will always stand by our Law Enforcement. No one has been tougher on russia. Reporter u. S. Forces overseas. Secretary mcenany of course, you sources secretary mcenanyreported bay country, the russians. Secretary mcenany we tell each and every country that paid what youre getting at is uncorroborated intelligence and you are treating it as if it were true. To this day there are varying views on the russian bounty, intelligence, dod, and all pointing that out. Im not going to answer a question based on unverified intelligence. Rest assured, every country in this world is put on notice that bounties on the heads of u. S. Troops are not acceptable and this president will stand for u. S. Troops. Who are you from . Reporter you mentioned a quote, we knew compared to other countries, i dont think you can say we are doing great. Is there a new graph from that for the white house . Secretary mcenany we have the most testing in the world. When you compare us on case fatality rates with other industrialized nations, we are very low and beating most countries if not all in europe. We are doing a lot on the world stage and a lot right. We noted we were supposed to have a ventilator shortage and it turned out the u. S. Sent ventilators all around the world. The u. S. Response has been historic, by several metrics including the thread just mentioned. We are beating the rest of the world. Reporter could you just clarify the scope of roger stones comments he . A federal judge is asking, does it only applied a prison time or does it also include the 2year period of supervised release . Secretary mcenany i dont have the exact details on that but i can follow up. What i will say is that the roger stone clemency was a very important moment for justice in this country. You had a completely bogus russian witch hunt that found nothing, and in order to justify the waste of taxpayer dollars, you had Robert Mueller charging people with process crimes. It is really curious to me that, with roger stone, he has charged false statements, but mccabe was charged of false statements, lying to federal investigators. Brandon, false statements to congress. The last time i checked, they didnt have 29 fbi agents wearing Tactical Gear showing up at their house in a predawn raid wielding rifles and sweeping across the lawn, as with roger stone. They didnt have agents using battering rams to break down the front door over false statements. And they didnt have helicopters hovering over the houses, and police boats that roared up. Instead, mccabe and clapper and brennan and these guys are given lucrative contracts, books, contributor ships. He doesnt have the facts to back up the way he meant that term. Reporter one more questio question. The president retweeted something this morning implying that he believes that she retweeted something saying the cdc is lying about the coronavirus in order to hurt his chances of getting reelected. Does the president believe that the cdc is lying about covid19 . Secretary mcenany the president expressed his displeasure with the cdc, sunlit rogue individuals leaking guidelines prematurely. He had a 63page plan that was leaked prematurely. He believes that misleads the American Public when they are planning materials release that are not in their fullest form and their best form. Thats what he was getting at. Overall, the notion of the tweet was to point out the fact that, when we use science, we have to use it in a way that is not political. You had 1,300 Health Experts signing to condemn not to condemn protesters. But lockdowns look at the same rights as the protests we saw on our streets. We have to lean into science but not use it and cherry pick it to say whatever our political persuasion is. Reporter thank you, given what we see in florida with the cases rising, is the president anticipating a scaled down version of the Convention Next month . If so, is that something he will be content with . Secretary mcenany is a question for the campaign but we plan to move forward with the convention at the white house. For particularity, i would point to the rnc and the campaign. Reporter does the president still appreciate the advice that he gets from dr. Fauci . Secretary mcenany certainly. Dr. Fauci is one of many on the task force who provides advice. I would note dr. Fauci is an epidemiologist, and Infectious Disease expert, and he provides his opinion there. You also have other experts like the behavioral Health Experts who provide opinions about the Holistic Health of the child, a voice for reopening schools and the longterm lockdown damage. We have the doctor work in the vaccines. There are a number of scientists who are experts in various issues, various specialties, but the president takes the full opinions of the task force and the varying opinions sometimes to move forward in the way he think is best for the country. Like he did with the china travel ban. The ban expires in a week. Will that be extended . Are you talking about that . No announcements our plan for canada. Arizona has more new cases of coronavirus than any country in the world. More than the European Union as a whole. Is it by that metric the United States is not doing as well as other countries in handling this . Secretary mcenany when you lead the world and testing, that means you identify more cases. You talk about deaths, i can give you that particular information which dr. Birx gave to me before running out here. Which is, in arizona, you have 17 cases per 1,000 population. 3 deaths per population. Which means our therapeutics are working and we are in a better place today than we were before. She were mask, gloves, she was teaching, she died. Two other teachers got it, were ill. How do you feel preparing for School Children that it is safe to send their kids back to school when Something Like that happens . I would report you to the cdc director is that children are defected by this and are typically not spreaders. I would point to the consequents of staying close. We have to look at the Holistic Health of the child. According to hhs, when you have one fifth of all child abuse cases being reported by teachers and educational staff, we cant stay closed. When you have d. C. Family child agency talking about a 62 decrease in the bu cases being reported, you cannot stay close. Even the ap come American Academy of pediatrics, talked about morbidity and mortality if schools stay shut down. 7080 of children with Mental Health diagnoses receive their care and schools. Theres great consequent as if we stay shut down. Just as you all in the media are essential workers, we believe our teachers are, as well. Reporter you said the goal is to get a better deal. Is that still the goal of maximum pressure . Why is that between iran and china, what evidence is there . Secretary mcenany i have no information today to update you on our iran relationship, which stays the same today as it has been. Yes, daniel . Reporter two questions. Mick mulvaney, who still has a role in this administration, he said in an oped that theres a testing problem in this country and he and his son had to wait for a 57 days for results. If even the presence former chief of staff levels this criticism, doesnt that indicate we still have a problem with testing . Do you have a reaction . Secretary mcenany we lead the world in testing, weve done more than 40 million tests. Thats an extraordinary number. Admiral giroir told us that we did it hundred thousand tests. We have credible number of tests, thats his exact quote. We also have 12,000 retail test sites that are there and we are surging testing in basically every county thats having a problem. Dr. Birx was just walking me through pooled testing, which would be a way to process tests at an even faster rate. Leading the world in testing, i would say that means we are doing a pretty good job. Reported back to you have a reaction to the Washington Redskins dropping the name to secretary mcenany i have talked to him, but not specifically on that. Last week his tweet made it clear that these teams named their teams out of strength, not weakness. He talked about the Washington Redskins and cleveland indians. Looking at changing their names. He says that he believes that the native American Community would be very angry at this, and he does have polling to back them up. There was a Washington Post poll from a few years ago that 90 of native americans say they are not offended by the name. It is reflective of the 2004 poll, and the Washington Post notes that many of these native americans voiced admiration for the team name, like barbara bruce, said im proud of being native american end of the redskins. Im not ashamed of that at all. I like that name. Another, a 29 euros from the navajo community, i dont mind it, i like it. There are several other comments like this in the Washington Post. Reporter i have a question from a News Organization that cant be here because of social distancing. My question come in february, the president said that he didnt want to use this pardon power on roger stone because he thought he would be exonerated. That didnt happen. During the same event, the president said that he wanted to give a full pardon. A convicted bank robber, is there going to be a pardon to what about the pardon applications . People dont go to the attorneys office, is that a good thing . Does that mean only political connected people can get pardon to . Secretary mcenany its absolutely not the case that only those who are politically connected get a pardon. This president is the president of criminal Justice Reform created this first step deck, he has fought for those who are given unduly harsh sentences more than a democrat who likes to talk about it but never actually did it. In fact, when you compare the pardoning record of this president with past president s, its quite striking that this president has given 36 pardons and commutations. President obama gave 1,927. When you look at the nature of some of the pardon is given, let santa present clinton, you talk about politically connected pardons, it cant be more politically connected then pardoning your brother, roger clinton, as president clinton did. Susan mcdougall, one of your associates who was pardon for her role in whitewater, marc rich, who gave 450,000 to the clinton library, or at least his wife dead, donated 1 million democrat campaign, and he gets t of these pardons were when he was going out the door. This president has used it sparingly and instead focus on criminal Justice Reform, helping those, to rectify Racial Disparities in our sentencing, and clinton and obama did a lot of pardoning. Political motivated, it seems. They didnt do much to help the innocent people who have served their time and been given unduly harsh sentences. Reporter i will followup, this is from the jewish new syndicate. What is the stance on israel planning to apply sovereignty to parts of the west bank from the democrats . From nancy pelosi, to aoc, who say such a move would undermine National Security in the u. S. Israel alliance. Secretary mcenany i have no update on the current status, other than the president has been a strong supporter of israel. Reporter we are coming up on the 3year anniversary of the president treating that he would ban transgender people from the kim dont like military and an capacity which under the policy currently in place. A group of lawmakers led by a congressman wrote to urge them to lift a policy paired with the present be considered . Secretary mcenany i havent talked to him about the visit policy, the president is proud that in 2019 wheat launched an initiative to end the criminalization of homosexuality thought the world. He has a great record when it comes to the lgbt community. The Trump Administration eased the ban on blood donations from gay and bisexual men and he launched a plan to end the aids epidemic by 2030. Reporter its a band that is still in place. The Supreme Court ruling, we have an estimated 14,700 people in the military who identify as transgender, we have pulls you upwards of 70 of americans who support transgender service, and we have Major Medical and Psychological Group saying there is no problem with transgender people in the military paid what is the reason for having the policy in place . Secretary mcenany i have no updates for you, but several of the events you cited, i would refer you back to Justice Kavanaugh who said they are judges and not members of congress been said of arden victory won through the democratic process, todays victory is brought about by judicial dictates. He will always stand on the side of correct statutory interpretation. Reporter can you really say that the rise in testing accounts for the rise in the number of cases . Because the percentage of those testing positive has risen sharply. Secretary mcenany i would say to this, as weve always said, that there would be embers, there would be fires. We readily acknowledge the embers and the fires around the country but we also note that it is logit, basic common sense, and you are testing more than any country in the world, youre going to identify more cases. Weve tested more than 40 million. We will identify more cases. When you see the fact that mortality has come down per thousand population in a way that it was becoming very adept at our therapeutics and our ways of finding people and communities rather than in hospitals catching things early and moving forward in a way that we know how to aggressively attack this virus. Reporter what is the rationale from keeping people from europe, ireland, and the u. K. From the United States when they have a fraction of the number of cases that you do in the u. S. . Secretary mcenany argument is that we will always put american first. Reporter when it comes the discussion about Law Enforcement, last month the president hosted a roundtable. At the roundtable he said he would not support defending police, and yet one month later we still have them doing so. How does the white house feel now with regard to reasonable discussion . Can we have these democrat cities . Secretary mcenany its a good question paid when they announced they would be defending the police abutment in los angeles by 150 million, they saw 250 increase in homicides. When you have people out there like ribs and an ilhan omar saying we have to completely dismantle the police, and police are a cancer, this is not how we should be talking about our heroes. You have most egregious of all really cumbersome in alexandria across saying defund the police means to defund it this weekend, there were 28 shootings in new york, 600 increase from this time last year. You have representative ocasiocortez saying this is just because people are trying to get food for the families. That is preposterous. The reality is 63 of americans in this country fear that criticism of our Police Departments will lead to no Public Safety in the streets. 69 of black americans, this is a real issue when you call or Police Cancer and talk about dismantling them. This weekend in new york you see a 1yearold killed in a stroller, and that 1yearold will be in our prayers. Not only that, you see officers cars and chavez. To your question about how we should talk about the police and defund the police movement, the president stands against. Officers ambush this weekend, one of them come off officer chavezs daughter, wrote a touching tribute online. She said words cannot describe the pain, but im glad my dad is at peace. You are an amazing man and everyone who ever came across you knew that. Im going to miss you so much. He died doing what you love most. You died a hero. Those words were written by savanna chavez, and i know she received violent outrageous comments online that were absolutely atrocious for a touching sentiment to her dad. I want her to know, youre dead as a hero, his Police Department should never be defunded. Lucifer officers are good hard working men women and heroes. We will be praying for you. Reporter what is the administration hoping to do in new york . Harris there you have it today, we just heard from the White House Press secretary Kayleigh Mcenany on a host of issues. Much of the time was spent on where we are in the pandemic right now. You have heard her talking all about the testing and how it compares to the rest of the world. That is more than a health issue and a Health Crisis that weve been seeing. It is very much a political issue now. For the first time over the weekend there were all those pictures will over the internet about the president wearing the mask, so on and so forth. When it comes right down to it, the numbers are what people are looking at today. A couple of things that Kayleigh Mcenany just sent from the white house was 21 deaths per 1,000 cases where we were. Where we are now, particularly the examples of new york and new jersey. Remember, those two states were atop the country, and at one point leading the world. 1. 7 deaths per 1,000 cases in new york. 1. 8 for 1,000 in new jersey. Of course, you would love to get that to zero, but what she is pointing out is where the white house puts the journey where we are now. Power panel slides back in. Richard fowler, Fox News Contributor, senior fellow at the new leaders counsel. Former National Republican Congressional Committee communications director, matt gorman. Richard, i will come to you first on just your reaction to a lot of news being made in that press conference. Richard most definitely a lot of news, harris. The most important point to point out is the mulvaney oped that came out earlier today that kaylee machen and he had to respond to. The former chief of staff said the problem we have in this country is around testing. The American People need to be reassured, as we think about reopening schools and reopening our economy, getting tested. Can you get a test . Be on getting a test, how long does it take to get those results . The idea of waiting 57 days to get a covid test result is part of the problem. If we are going to reopen this economy, you need to be able to take your test in a day or two days later get results. That is why the americans will very much fear this pandemic and fear the ideal of reopening. Im not sure if her answer was up to snuff to create the peace of mind that americans need to send their kids back to school and folks to return back to the office. Harris we are going to have to quickly screw to a break, but i want to get your reaction to it Kayleigh Mcenany was saying about the relationship between dr. Fauci and President Trump. Saying its always been a good one. A lot of criticism about what is being reported, anyway. Absolutely. It needs to be a good one. You cant have Administration Officials at war with each other. If the president doesnt have confidence in dr. Fauci, fire him. Im not saying he should do that, but you cant have Administration Officials going after Administration Officials. There is too much at stake with this pandemic. Everyone needs to be on the same team. Quite frankly, President Trump, as i said before, will be judged on how he handles the pandemic. Thats what voters will care about at the end of the day. That is what they should all be brewing in the same direction on. Harris just to hear you say those words, fire him, i understand what you are saying. Make a decision and move on. But who would you put in his place . Thats a great point. Dr. Fauci has been there for three decades. Im not saying he should do it. He is someone who has been training for a moment like this for 30 years. You have the cream of the crop there. Im not saying that everything he has said has been perfect, but you need to keep all the disagreements inhouse. Leaking out and getting in public view is not helpful. Harris all right, gentlemen, thank you. President trump, joe biden are running neck and neck and some key states, including the state of texas. That should the Trump Campaign be worried . Harris the real clear politics average shows President Trump neck and neck with joe biden. Taxes, they are tied. While biden is up and florida and arizona. Joining me now, tim murtaugh. Always good to see you. So, i know you watch the averages more than individual polling because it gives you more of a scope of things. Where do you need to adjust . Speak up public balls are bad. You have to look under the out of each one of these polls, and they have the party break down off by 14 points as compared to what the exit polls work in 2016, so we know that public falls are notoriously wrong about President Trump. They dont screen for likely voters. We only really trust the polls and the methodology that we have internally. Including those three that you just mentioned. Still running strong against joe biden. Joe biden is a terrible, terrible candidate, and the more the americans find out about him, then even these public polls will not be able to ignore that. Harris i want to get in a quick question because we are pressed against the top of the hour. Im curious to know how you deal with all of these things on the ground because i know some people arent even honest when they take polling. Republicans are under surveyed. So, the rally is important for the fact that you get there and you are able to do that. How do you get around that if you can have rallies that way that you use to . Rallies have historically been a big part of his strategy, but with the enthusiasm among the president s supporters is still through the roof. We have our own internal data, the approval of over 95 of republicans in this country. He has by far set records for incumbent, and in some cases doubling and tripling the number of votes that barack obama got when he ran for reelection, and both of them were effectively unopposed. He still has got to do three times the number of votes. They are fired up. They remain fired up. And we know that President Trump is supporters will run through a brick wall to vote for him. And nobody will run through a brick wall for joe biden. Harris tim murtaugh, i appreciate your time here and we will have you back. I am harry s. The Daily Briefing start now. Dana we are watching two big events this hour. I may be set to give an update on the fire and san diego. And at the white house, President Trump is meeting this hour with americans who say a law safe their families. Numbers keep rising in several american cities. Hello, everyone. Im dana perino. And this is the Daily Briefing. We will keep an eye on those events. We will bring what we can to you left, but we begin with a dramatic rise in
