Tested and its not in question. Nixon was forced to produce the tapes and bill clinton was compelled to participate in a civil, not a criminal but a civil case. So the idea that the president could be subpoenaed is not open to question. Harris lets go to the White House Correspondent kevin corke on the north lawn. Good afternoon. What himes said is this is never tested. So we dont know if mueller will try to subpoena the president and we dont know what the courts might say moving forward. From the white house perspective, they would take this to the u. S. Supreme court. The president has been forceful in his criticism of the mueller team to have the antitrump partisans and operating far afield from original mandate. The president on his favorite social media platform on twitter saying the following 13 angry democrats in charge of the russia witch hunt are starting to find out that there is a court system in place that actually protects people from injustice. And just wait until the courts get to see your unrevealed conflicts of interest. He also added this one. You will find this interesting. He asked, is this phony witch hunt going to going on longer so it wrongfully impact the midterm elections which is what the democrats always intended . The republicans get tough and smart before its too late. The president s lawyers meanwhile, as you saw hitting the airwaves over the weekend responding to amongst other questions whether or not the president will in fact sit down with mr. Mueller . And if so, would he talk . Are you confident the president will not take the fifth in this case . How could i be confident of that . What im facing a situation with the president and all the other lawyers are in which every lawyer in america thinks he would be a fool to testify, i have a client who wants to testify. Please, he said it yesterday. Jay and i said to ourselves my goodness, i hope we get a chance to tell him the risk that he is taking. So he may testify. He may testify but then again he may not. That is posed to Sarah Sanders. It is coming up at 2 00 and it should be an interesting briefing. Back to you. Harris kevin corke, thank you very much. Congressman ron desatis is a former navy jag officer. Its great to see you today. My first question has to be it isnt whether the president should sit down but where we are in negotiating any kind of a sitdown . What do you think . I disagree with congressman himes. Its not settled that the president can be subpoenaed for any reason at all. This is different than what bill clinton sat for. Its different than the nixon tapes. What mueller is purporting to do is potentially subpoena the president to conduct oversight over the president s use of his article ii powers. Mueller being an inferior officer in the executive branch so it raises huge separation of powers question. Im not sure that the court would force the president to answer questions under those circumstances. So i dont think he should be i would not be willing to go in, or i would advise him not to go in and do it given they dont have an underlying case on any of this. So to me there is no upside. No case as it is now. If you go in and testify and they trip you up on something, what then do they try to use that for harris what about pleading the fifth or taking the fifth . The thing is, usually when people say, oh, you plead the fifth it means you are guilty or hiding something. Generally thats true. But in this case, if there is no underlying case in normal society, the people then dont get brought in and subpoenaed if there is no underlying crime. So this would be an extraordinary use of government questioning. So i think taking the fifth under those circumstances are different from the normal situations. Harris congressman, there has been talk about how long the white house and the team has waited to come with this much bravado. Do you see it this way . I think they started off with the view of hey, there is nothing here. So give him everything they want. They turned over huge number of documents. They didnt exert executive privilege which they could have. And i think they wanted it to end soon. But i think the way it has gone it is clear this is not just a good faith effort to find something and if its not there move on. They will keep digging until they find something beyond collusion, whatever they can find. The posture change makes sense. Harris what is the conversation like on the House Judiciary Committee about bringing things to a halt in any way that your committee would interjector intervene . There is a division amongst the republicans. Ive been somebody, i want to conduct oversight over mueller from the beginning. We have had Rod Rosenstein the deputy a. G. Once. We need to have him again. Just think of the cent news in the the recent news in the courts. One federal judge slapping them down to bring the manafort charges that are totally unrelated. Over the weekend, you had the judge say sorry, mueller, we are not giving you an extension. They wanted an extension to prosecute the russian case and they are not ready to bring the case. There are a huge number of questions over the last week raised about the operation. Harris the president has made changes over time to his legal team. Rudy giuliani is a different type of person because he can argue a case and he can argue a case in public, which sometimes is very different. What does he bring to the table in terms of the investigation . He brings skill, experience and he brings a relationship with Robert Mueller. He was muellers superior back in the 80s. Harris yes. Rudy is the man for the job. I think he is going to probably help engineer a positive outcome in this case. Harris do you see before i let you go, congressman. Do you see any advantage or any strategy, any way that the president would sit down with Robert Mueller and not have it be as giuliani describes it as a trap . Well, what rudy said this weekend. If he gets the hillary treatment, no under oath, no anything, you just sit in and shoot the breeze for an hour, hour and a half, that may be one thing. But i doubt that bob mueller would be willing to give donald trump the Hillary Clinton treatment. Harris congressman desantis of the great state of florida. Thank you. Thank you. Harris meanwhile, Rudy Giuliani says he is pleased with the media blitz and the president would agree. The former mayor and the federal prosecutor told the Washington Post this we all feel pretty good we have everything kind of strangeened out here and we are straintened out here and we are setting the agenda. Everybody is reacting to us and i feel good about that because that is what i came to do. James freeman the assistant editor for the editorial page and a fox news contributor. Someone we like to bring in here. Thank you. I like to be here. Harris we still dont know all of what mueller has or where he is going but we are getting a taste of what he would want to talk with the president about. How does Rudy Giuliani figure into this . What we are seeing. We get a taste of how broad the scope is. Maybe the value that giuliani adds among other things he is willing to challenge the scope, the authority and the breadth of the investigation. Harris a lightbulb goes on over my head. We talked about this last hour on outnumbered. Now we pull the pieces together. Where have we heard of the idea of show me the scope letter . The from the deputy a. G. Rod rosenstein and the Paul Manafort case. He may have seen a victory from that so are giuliani and the rest learning from what they are seeing . It was significant to say how broad is the authority . What are you going after here . This raises Big Questions that go to the heart of the special counsels job to begin. The reason for a special counsel under the law is when there is a conflict of interest in a criminal matter. But to this day, there is no crime. I was a counterintelligence investigation. So these kind of bigger questions, along with the question of the president s authority as mr. Desantis was mentioning, these are the things that rudy is eager to challenge maybe more than the traditional professional legal representation that mr. Trump previously had. Harris yeah. So the federal judge t. S. Ellis iii looked at the manafort case and says look, you say there is a scope letter that dictates the scope, how wide or not that they can look into manafort. Does then Rudy Giuliani stand ground to ask for something similar from Robert Mueller . I think he is asking that question. Even beyond mueller. Harris does he get it . He is questioning what is now the u. S. Attorneys prosecution related to Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels in new york. The questions there is wow, these are really aggressive tactic, raiding the lawyers access and disclosure the colleagues name for no public purpose. Harris the raid has been refuted. The noknock and all of that. But the point of the matter is they did show up. Harris with the manafort they did show up. Yeah. Harris i want to ask you next. You brought up Stormy Daniels and all of that. Do you think the American Public is clear why the case had to happen . No. I know it was maybe awkward this weekend in giulianis presentation. But i think there is an underlying problem there. No matter how you look at it, reimbursed, wasnt reimbursed, its a real reach to say this is inkind contribution in a campaign setting. This is new legal ground. The only other real test case for this theory, it failed in 2011. Harris interesting. So whoever it turns out paid for this or reimbursed this payment, it really doesnt go to Campaign Finance violations under a traditional reading of the law. It underlines how far afield this investigation has gotten. Harris so, james, following that logic and those facts, then maybe Rudy Giuliani knew exactly what he was doing and it may have looked bonkers to the rest of the world. If you read social media, that is what people thought. But it does take it out of the area of inkind campaign contributions. Your thoughts . I think it takes that off the table. Harris interesting. This is high stakes poker he is playing. Obviously you look at some of the interviews where its all about alleged behavior that is not admirable. You can say how is that a good media moment for the president or for giuliani . But i think to the extent that they are able to say that these are not, these things are not illegal, embarrassing as they might be, that perhaps could be a good day for him. Harris i notice the word crime never came up. The way you described it was a bad media moment with regard to this. That is really interesting because the other part that giuliani plays is the p. R. Part in all of this. James freeman, always great to have you from the wall street journal editorial board. Thank you. Good to be here. Harris european leaders are stepping up the pressure on President Trump not to pull out of the Iran Nuclear Deal with the deadline fast approaching. This is as iran signals its would be willing to stay in the deal even as the u. S. Backs out. We have a live report ihead. President trumps c. I. A. Pick gina haspel facing growing scrutiny ahead of the confirmation hearing. Sources say she offered to withdraw her nomination. What can we expect to happen on wednesday . How long do you think well keep oooooohhh you stopped youre gonna leave me back here at year 9 . How did this happen . It turned out, a lot of people fell short, of even the average length of retirement. We have to think about not when we expect to live to, but when we could live to. Lets plan for income that lasts all our years in retirement. Prudential. Bring your challenges. Harris we come in with this fox news alert. President trump defending his c. I. A. Director nominee gina haspel after sources say she offered to withdraw her nomination days ahead of the confirmation hearing. That happens on wednesday, by the way. This comes amid concerns over connection to the c. I. A. Interrogation program set up after the 9 11 attacks. The president tweeted this my highly respected nominee for c. I. A. Director gina haspel has come under fire because she was too tough on terrorists. Think of that. In these very dangerous times, we have the most qualified person, a woman, who democrats want out because she is too tough on terror. When gina exclamation point. There are concerns about the confirmation process given her clandestine background. Haspel said she was willing to withdraw but the discussions were not described to fox news as serious. Meantime, c. I. A. Spokesman says the haspel nomination is going ahead and those who know her say wednesdays confirmation hearing should not focus on decade old program that was approved under Bush Administration but should focus on her credentials and fitness for the job. With the president who does not always attach his decisions to the real world, to data, to evidence, gina haspel is the one woman i want in that room when everyone else is going to the north, south to say you are right, boss. Gina haspel wont. Fox news understands she will be on the hill two hours from now to meet with three democrats in a secure facility, including Dianne Feinstein who sits on the Senate Intelligence and the Senate Judiciary committees. She led an investigation in the c. I. A. Program and became so acrimonious that the democrats accused the c. I. A. Of spying on senate investigators. Haspel is also expected to meet with senator heinrich and manchin. They said even a minimal role in the program that included the waterboarding of the 9 11 architect disqualifies her. The biggest concern is the history of the senate as far as we know, the senate has never confirmed somebody with an operational role in the use of torture. Senator rand paul come out against the nominee and told fox at that week there were no plans to meet before the hearing on wednesday. Harris thank you very much. We appreciate you racking up the facts ahead of my next guest. A former lawyer at the Justice DepartmentNational Security division now a fellow at george mason university. Its great to see you today. I want to you can the about what is in store for wednesday and gina haspels nomination. They should focus on her credentials and her tenure and the senior post she has held throughout the c. I. A. And dick rated in times by various president s. That should be the meat of what the discussion is this week when it comes to her candidacy to be the director of the c. I. A. Harris matthew, there are questions about the interrogation. And the questions came up for john brennan who was fourth in command. So how could wednesday look different than for him. Take us back. I dont think it should look any different and i dont think the outcome should be different than for him. He was confirmed. I believe he received 66 votes in favor of the confirmation. To me that is the shame of the process. Gina haspel is lower in the ranks than john brennan was at the time of the programs and she has been held to a higher standard to me seems very odd. Especially given her career and her experience in dealing with russia and terrorism. That is exactly the kind of person we need at the c. I. A. Today. To revisit John Brennans case. He was asked about this, correct . Yes, he was asked about it. Harris so you anticipate gina haspel would be asked about this and she would have readily to go answers, i would imagine. I would expect so. Harris okay. You know, just moving ahead with gina haspel. You were talking about her credentials and all of that. Do you think its kind of understandable, matthew, while people are backing out of this process . This is tough. We have seen a lot of people. We have reports she considered withdrawing. What are your thoughts on that . I think it speaks to the hyperpartisan environment we are in where partisanship and political pointscoring come far ahead of facts and what is best for the country and finding qualified people to take up these posts. I think that is a shame because obviously we need our best and the brightest at the highest levels. Gina haspel is an example of that. I think the fact that she, according to the reports, gave thoughts of stepping back from the process is reflective of her humility and her desire to ensure that the c. I. A. Is not a political football. To ensure that the c. I. A. Can have an effective leader. So i think its a shame we are going through the process and its shameful she is having to endure the process. Im hopeful enough sensors will come to the senses to recognize enough senators will come to senses to recognize an asset she will be. Your clip showed the director of the c. I. A. And the n. S. A. , she is a person all about the facts and data. That is the advice we want the president to get. Harris the president says that she is tough on terror and that it is disingenuous im paraphrasing now for the democrats to push against that. Does gina haspel get confirmed on wednesday . I think she ultimately does. I am confident she gets the confirmation but its a shame she has to go through the process to get there when she is eminently qualified. Harris matthew, the former attorney for the National Security division. We appreciate your perspective and your expertise. Thank you. Harris devin nunes says he is going to urge lawmakers to hold attorney general Jeff Sessions in contempt of congress for failing to hand over classified information on the russia investigation. But the Justice Department says they need to protect our National Security. Do they have a point . Or are they stonewalling . And days ahead of President Trumps expected decision on whether to abandon the Iran Nuclear Deal, the u. K. Top diplomat is in washington for talks with the administration. Harris iranian president Hassan Rouhani says his country would be willing to stay in the Nuclear Deal Even if the United States pulls out. That is providing the European Union offers guarantees that iran would continue to benefit from it. His comments come just days ahead of President Trumps expected decision on whether to abandon the Iran Nuclear Deal. Meanwhile, the u. K. s top diplomat Boris Johnson is in washington, d. C. For talks with the Trump Administration about iran this week. He spoke earlier on fox friends. He set a challenge to the world saying look, iran is behaving badly and they have a tendency to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles. We have to stop that. But you cant just do that throwing the baby out with the bath water and without scrapping the whole thing. If you do that you have to answer what next . Harris Benjamin Hall is live from jerusalem. Benjamin . Hi, harris. Five days left until President Trump has to make a decision whether to recertify the deal. And pressure is mounting across the world. Iranians are coming out saying that the u. S. Would pay a heavy price if they didnt do just that. But there was a slightly more mild tone with them today with president rouhani coming out saying iran would consider not abandoning the deal if the u. S. Did indeed pull out. That is only as long as the European Union could offer guarantees that iran would continue to benefit from the accord. That is in contrast to the other Pressure Campaign at the moment that highlight the threat posed by iran and this nuclear deal which President Trump called insane. That was Benjamin Netanyahus prinnation last week highlight presentation last week highlighting how iran lied about the extent of the program. Of course, the pressure from across the pond. First Emmanuel Macron an then angela merkel. Today, Boris Johnson also in d. C. Meeting with the ambassador bolton and secretary of state mike pompeo lending his support for staying in the deal. This is as news breaking breakin israel that intelligence suggest that iran now have plans to attack israel soon. That is in retaliation for israeli strikes. Officials say that iran is determined to retaliate for the april 9 airstrike on an air base in syria which killed seven Iranian Military advisers and members of the Iranian Revolutionary guard. They are saying they detected unusual involvement by hezbollah in the preparation for any retaliation. Even though the organization has been trying to keep the activity low profile so it doesnt affect its own position in the region. So on the one side you have the nuclear deal. And you have people trying to force the president to maybe stay in that. But regional activities here also are heating up. Israel is very concerned about iranian encroachment on its own borders and Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu said he would never allow iran to be a power on the borders. We are seeing multiple Different Things at play here. There are fears of a direct military confrontation now between israel and iran. Harris yeah. Benjamin netanyahu not just some time ago. Like last week. They talk about this constantly. That is an interesting development. Im going to bring it up now with my next guest. Benjamin hall, thank you very much. His report excellent there. Harry, the deck terror of the defense studies at the study for the national interest. This is troubling. You have to take the regional concerns into the whole vision here. Where does this put the United States . I mean our president is strong on this issue. If israel is in further danger, what happens next . Well, harris, i have a good idea that the iran deal is probably dead. I think the only question here is what date you stamp on the tombstone. I think the Trump Administration has been pretty clear from really since the campaign that this isnt a deal they like. Its obvious why they dont like it. In fact, Boris Johnson probably made the case on fox friends why we should leave the deal. Harris exactly. Sunset provision, iran gets to leave the deal in 2025. Dont think for a second iran is going to try to renegotiate a new deal then. They will probably sprint to build Nuclear Weapons for the same reasons the north koreans have Nuclear Weapons because it guarantees their security. Iranians were smart in the deal to make sure that there is no restriction on ability for them to build missiles. Dont think for a second that the iranians arent Getting Technology from the north koreans they can buy to build icbms and make them with a Nuclear Weapon in the future. All of this is fakes news and fake debate that the deal is dead. Harris you know its interesting because i watched that interview with Boris Johnson and i kind of had a similar takeaway as you are describing that he was kind of enumerating why we should exit the deal. Harry d you think its been factored in already, in europe, that hey, the United States is going to step away and that is what i we heard from rouhani today . That, you know, maybe we would consider staying in the deal even if the United States exits . I think so. Rouhani and the europeans could have their own side deal or Something Like that. But i think what we have to remember, harris, the United States is the one who really has the ball in its court. If we decide to scrap the deal and we impose sanctions on the iranians again, the iranians have to be careful here. There is pressure on the economy. They are already under intense domestic problems. They have had a number of different riots and challenges over the last few months. In fact, there is more riots today in different part of the country. People are upset about wages and the economic future. I think in a lot of respects, a lot of iranians are waking up to the fact the regime is not keeping the promise it made in the last 20, 30, 40 years. I think people there are starting to wake up. Iran has to be careful about what it is trying to do. Its just a bad actor. Harris it is so interesting to hear you set a bar in that country for a dictatorship. I expect the bar to be low anyway. I dont know how people stand along the roadway saying they are not keeping their promises but i hear you. Cant we talk a little bit, i want to get back to what Benjamin Hall was telling us about a few moments ago. Its different when an ally but a friend in israel hears from iran we are getting ready to attack you. On may 12, there is a deadline that the president may decertify the iran deal. Talk to me about how the component goes together and what we may need to do to reassure israel. If the iranians thought about attack israeli territory in a kinetic strike that is attributed 100 to iran, that would be near suicide for a lot of different reasons. First, what the israelis would do is say well, there is no restrictions on us anymore from attacking Irans Nuclear program and they would probably wipe out large sections of it. I dont think its in the iranians interest. A lot of times the iranians talk big and they have the grand grandiose vision of what they can do but they are rogue state. But it would actually open up a pandoras box for them and israel would strike aggressively and the United States would probably back that up and sell israel all the best bunkerbusting bombs and things to do damage to Irans Nuclear program. It would be a big mistake. Harris i was fascinated by what you said about why iran might do a side deal with other countries. Its about security but its also about money. Exactly. Harris harry, its always great to see you. Thank you for the conversation. Thank you for inviting me. House intel chair devin nunes warning he plans to urge lawmakers this week to hold sessions in contempt of congress for failing to hand over classified materials related to the russia investigation. While not describing exactly what info he is seeking, the California Republican told fox news why he means business. Two weeks ago, we sent a letter to attorney general Jeff Sessions, a classified letter. Per usual, it was ignored. Not acknowledged. Just completely ignored. So last week we sent a subpoena and then on thursday we discovered they are not going to comply with the subpoena. What are you going to do about it . On very Important Information we need. What are you going to do . The only thing left we can do is move quickly to hold the attorney general of United States in contempt. Harris Justice Department official provided fox news with a letter sent from d. O. J. To chairman nunes four days ago. Within the deadline for responding to a subpoena from the committee. That letter warns providing the info on a, specific individual could pose grave implications National Security. The d. O. J. Says disclosure to information on the request could risk severe consequences including potential loss of human lives, damage to relationships with valued international partners, compromise of the ongoing criminal investigations and interference with the intelligence activities. That is a long list. Bring in the fox news senior judicial analyst judge Andrew Napolitano. Break it down. Can they say no, the d. O. J. , no we wont give you this for all the reasons i have given . Yes, they can say no. They probably should ask a judge to quash the subpoena. The judge will ask to see the documents and the judge will decide which documents stay secret and which documents are revealed. The d. O. J. Has a couple of sound answers and congressman devin nunes has a great legitimate concern. First the d. O. J. They cannot provide materials about a criminal investigation that is ongoing without jeopardizing the investigation. They cannot provide names of witnesses and sources to whom confidentiality and the privacy have been promised. Where is that from . The federal rules of the criminal procedure which congress enacted. Congress is subject to these as well. Those are the stated reason. The unstated reason the d. O. J. Thinks that congressman nunes and his colleagues will take some of the raw material about an ongoing criminal investigation of the president and bring it to the white house. Harris how can they prove that . They dont know. How do you prove something that hasnt happen . Harris you insulate it against it happening. That is the d. O. J. Argument. Harris that would mean nobody would ever hand over anything. That is the way to do it. If you and i were subpoenaed and we told them to take a hike, they come after us. They dont go after the Justice Department. They threaten contempt. The proper thing to do is have the court look at the actual documents to decide this the d. O. J. Is right, on this they are wrong and i ordered it surrendered. Because they are the d. O. J. , because they are the king of the hill, they dont challenge it in court. They put it to the congress to challenge it. Holding Jeff Sessions in contempt is absurd. Hes recused from the russia investigation. Its nonrevocable and he cant do anything about it. Harris we know its nonrevocable. The president isnt happy. If it were revocable, he would probably revoke it. Of course. The person in charge of what they want is Rod Rosenstein. That is the person that they should be threatening with contempt. Harris so why are they threatening by the way, talk to me about contempt of congress. It stings and it doesnt sting. Only happened once to attorney general. They held eric holder in contempt for failure to turn over fast and furious documents. Did it hurt his legal career . No. Did they take it one step farther to seeken cars ration or confine seek an incarceration or confinement . No. Its a Paper Holding of contempt. What has never happened is a Republican Congress to hold a Republican Attorney general in contempt. The president doesnt want to get involved because he is the subject of an investigation by the d. O. J. And he feels he shouldnt be interfering in any d. O. J. Management. The fight will go back and forth. Harris why is it happening like republican against republican . There are people in the Justice Department who though republican do not agree with the motivation of the House Intel Committee and fear that the Intel Committee will use raw intelligence data, some of which is gained at the risk of lives for political purposes. There are people on the Intel Committee who say we run the budget, we are the regulator, they answer to us. Who are they to tell us we cant see anything . Harris all right. So just kind of piecing this together, you say the president could step in. He wont do that because of the ongoing investigation. That is what he said. Harris okay. But can he . Yes, he can. Harris what does that look like . He could crawl up Rod Rosenstein call up Rod Rosenstein and say im sick and tired of this. Give the congress what they want or take it to a judge and have the judge resolve it. Harris do you think he will do that . I dont think he will. I think he wants to say his hands are washed of the d. O. J. Until the Mueller Investigation is over. Harris judge, i feel like i get a lot of we have gone through a lot in three minutes. [laughter] harris thank you. Youre welcome. Harris good afternoon. Pleasure. Harris a new showdown as the republicans gear up for the high stakes Senate Primaries tomorrow. President trump is warning West VirginiaSenate CandidateDon Blankenship cannot win in the general election. He is not the only one. The power panel next. I think the president is right here. Its part of midterm monday on the daily briefing. Harris speaking of gina haspel. She is meeting with the senators ahead of the confirmation hearing on wednesday. We just caught, we may reabout it a little bit. She was just arriving on the hill. We are told she will talk to senator heinrich and joe manchin and Dianne Feinstein today. Some democrats dont like her history in interrogations. Lets talk about this. Lisa boothe is here. And Brad Gerstman is here, democratic strategist and attorney. I was explaining to the audience, lisa, we talked about this last hour. Part of her confirmation will be on her 30 years of service. So the president saying that you want to be tough on her because she was tough on terrorists. How disingenuous. I like the way that President Trump is framing this. I am angry about the railroading of ronny jackson. So if i was President Trump id take it to the democrats in the five states that he won by the double digits and really put the feet to the fire. Regarding this confirmation hearing. Saying look, the democrats need to support her. She has been in the c. I. A. Since 1985 and has former c. I. A. Directors and the individuals that are supporting her saying she is the right woman for the job. He has a strong case. Harris john brennan went through and he was much farther up the top. Same interrogation program. What are your thoughts that democrats stand on this. Democrats have a right to ask questions and uncover the truth, the accuracy and understanding of what the person is about. This is a very important job. If we dont have the two sides arguing over the come knees and the picks then we dont have a democracy. The democrats are doing what they have been elected to do by their own constituents. This is not something out of the norm. This is not something extreme. This is not harris it happened with john brennan. Sure. Partisan politics so some extent but the senators are there to ask questions. Harris does she get confirmed . Yes. Harris lisa . I think so. I hope so. They are there to ask tough questions but not there to railroad someone unnecessarily like they did with ronny jackson. Ronny jackson deserved to be railroaded. Hold on. Here is the thing as well. You look at mike pompeo. You had democrats two supported him as the c. I. A. Director and then turning around to vote against him for the secretary of state. Im sorry, but that is purely purely he was nominated. Its political. Gina haspel, then i go in there and talk about look at the record and the individuals supporting me. This is a critical time right now in this country dealing with north korea, dealing iran. Harris she does have to answer the questions, though. Sure. She should be prepared and im sure she will be. Harris we talked about this on the couch earlier. You have a woman up for this position. The president tweeted about democrats being upset because she was too tough on terror. Your side of the aisle carry the banner on women, women, women, women. I agree, all the tough questions. I want to know all we can about the sites, too. But you think she will been confirmed . She will. This is not a woman or a man thing. This is a qualification thing. Its easy now harris is she qualified in your eyes . I need to hear the answers to the questions. Look, we cant all just sit here everyone sounds qualified. It sounds great in the leadup to one of the hearings. The only thing we know, the only thing we know harris im asking if he thinks i want to hear the answers to the questions. Harris i hear you. That is when you uncover the truth. You dont make a decision on the trial before you hear the evidence. She wouldnt have gotten where she is currently if she was not qualified for job. There are certainly questions over her time in the c. I. A. Be honest, some of the nominees, with all due respect some of the nominees that have been placed forward, okay, by this administration have not been qualified. There are things that we find out. There mike pompeo . Mike pompeo rightfully got his position. I will say it is funny. Harris, you brought this up earlier. How the administration and Sarah Sanders is now coaching this as look, all the liberal feminists, women empowerment, if you dont support her, she is the first c. I. A. Female c. I. A. Director nominated. Harris but my point is they cant treat her differently than they treated john brennan. When you look at her 30year service is the argument. But democrats will work to confirm her. She is meeting with manchin right now of West Virginia. So we will follow the news as it happens. Stay close. Its just a burst pipe, i could fix it. laugh no.
