I would like to promise an pledge to all of my voters and supporters, and to all of the people of the United States, that i will totally accept the results of this great and historic president ial election, if i win. [cheering] sandra democrats and even some republicans blasting trumps stance but getting serious backup from running mate mike pence. As donald trump said earlier today in ohio, of course we will accept a clear election result, but we also reserve the right to contest or file a legal challenge in the case of questionable results. We will follow and abide by the rules and traditions of many candidates who have gone before. [cheering] to uphold the integrity of the vote. Sandra but president obama taking issue with trumps comments, take tearing into the candidate yesterday. Because you notice the donald already is whining that the vote is going to be rigged before the games even over. We, we just starting to vote now. He is already like, the games rigged. Except today of course it is not rigged if i win. That is not a joking matter. No, no, i want everybody to Pay Attention here. That is dangerous. Because when you try to sow the seeds of doubt in peoples minds about the legitimacy of our elections, that undermines our democracy. Sandra oh, Julie Roginsky reminds me, were 18 days, eight hours out to the polls close on election day. Sheriff clarke, what do you think about this being the major headline for the gop right now, talking about the outcome of this election and whether or not he would accept it . I think it is ridiculous. Donald trump will accept the outcome if it is on the up and up, however, i have run for office myself, there is a process which to contest a election. Why would he give that up, especially in some. States where it may be close, some of the swing states . You look at states like illinois, look at president obama comes from illinois. Long known for voter fraud. Dead people voting. In the state of wisconsin, there are people who are no longer eligible to vote on the voting rolls, and the state refuses to remove those names. Why . So this is what donald trump is doing, planting the seed, into the democrats heads in these states where it could be close, hey, were watching for this thing. Were keeping an eye on it. Keep them on their toes. Sandra do you think he could have said it differently on that debate night moment where he didnt exactly word it, even some of his supporters have criticized him saying i will keep you in suspense whether or not. Lets qualify who supporters are, just because theyre gop members or gop operatives doesnt mean theyre his supporters. As you know, ever since he got into this race, he has been fighting the establishment, donor class, within the Republican Party and then look what happened a couple weeks ago when the one tape was revealed from something he said which was inappropriate but 11 years ago. All of sudden some of these gop politicians jumped ship. I thought that was real bad taste. Harris you know, sheriff, you have been tough with your talk though when it comes to rigged elections, calling for things like pitchforks and torches. You have taken a lot of heat for that kind of heat coming from you. Yeah, look at this way. Here is how i look at it. Frederick douglass, abolitionist, former slave, said this about the institution of slavery at the time. He said, slavery is a system of brute force and it must be fought with its own weapons. I suppose that would be incendiary at that time too since slavery was still institution in america. You look at founding fathers. I tell people, read the declaration of independence. I read that thing every year. Not that long a document. Some of the stuff in there will make you go wow, part of it says, if a government no longer, im paraphrasing, meets the needs of the people, the people have a duty to abolish it and recreate a new government that meets its needs. That is pretty incendiary too at the time but sometimes harris the scene that forms in your mind when you use words like pitchfork and torches were violent scene. What were you meaning when you said that . Its a metaphor, it is a call to citizen action. There is a lot of things, i think it led to donald trump in campaign and election. People are not satisfied with some. Things going on in this country. It is a call to action. I trust people. People are smart, okay. You know, i dont expect people to pick up pitchforks and torches. I also put out a tweet the next day, i said, home depot is reporting a run on pitchforkses and tiki oil lamps. Watch the media run with that one. Sandra home depot appreciated advertisement. People get wound too tight in this thing and harris sandra big question, how is it all playing with voters, julie . With voters, look at polling, voters are running away from donald trump. Im not going to touch the fact that slavery and American Revolution have absolutely nothing to do with nonexisting in person voter fraud because they dont. When you ultimately have a president ial candidate who is not going to accept the result of the election, he didnt qualify it the way mike pence did. Mike pence did a great job qualifying it. Nobody is saying if the Election Results sandra he did not say he will not accept the outcome. He will accept it if he wins, which is, what inverse of that . He may not accept it if he loses. Nobody comparing this to hanging chads in florida. He has the right to contest that kind of situation when handful of votes separating him from Hillary Clinton. That is not what he said. Every time i see mike pence and other people going out there and cleaning it up im puzzled why he cant do that himself . Why he needs mike pence and harris he has done some of that. At rally yesterday we carried on outnumbered, he was in ohio, he said look he wants to reserve the right to use all the tools that the sheriff was just talking about, state by state to fight whatever would look like it wasnt carried out fairly. Donald trump is not going to talk the way Hillary Clinton does. That is part of his appeal through the primary an also some. General election as well. But if im donald trump, this is just not what i want to be talking about 18 days out. This is not what i want the media to be fixated on. What he needs to do is convince those undecided voters to come his way. So this is not just what i want to be talking about if i was him. I think he is missing really big opportunity to talk about aiged are election because the system is rigged against him. All you have to do is look at the fact that there is a state Department Official that is allegedly involved trying for a quid pro quo with the fbi. The fact that the department of justice colluded with the clinton campaign, giving them insider information. The fact that our nations top Law Enforcement attorney general Loretta Lynch, met with bill clinton, Hillary Clintons husband on the tarmac during an ongoing criminal investigation. So yeah, the deck is stacked against him. The system is stacked against him. It is rigged in Hillary Clintons favor. That is what i would focus on. That would be a lot more impactful with undecided voters. Got the media off the audio recording, okay. So sometimes this is political strategy, the same thing with mrs. Clinton and you know, at the time it was all this, emails and the secret server and some of that stuff, all of sudden they throw this tape thing out there, it got everybody off of good point. But my suggestion to that would be then, now pivot. How would you like to see him spend final days of election. One thing i would like him to do, i spent considerable time, oneonone conversations, i dont tell donald trump what to do, he didnt get that far in life with any advice to me, i made it clear to the campaign, i wont bother you guys unless i see you stepping in it. The Catholic Charity event is traditionally a time for candidates to joke about themselves and maybe a a little their opponent. There was a laughter for sure. People that i have been privileged to know and to work with. I just want to put you all in a basket of adorables. I called hillary a nasty woman, but this stuff is all relative. For example, here she is tonight, in public, pretending not to hate catholics. [booing] harris sandra, you said that was the worst moment, in terms of being in the room, which we were, right . Sandra hair remembers and i were both there. Harris seated around, they were shaken by that. Sandra to be fair there were moments from both candidates that were a little harsh and, everybody kind of gasped. To be fair, Hillary Clinton also made a joke, i guess you could call it about him rating the statue of liberty. Harris very awkward. Sandra had an interesting reaction in the room. It was very, most of the jokes were tasteful, but it did take a turn. Harris so, sheriff, you know, i think what sandra is pointing out too, these were not things that we had not necessarily heard either one of them say, but just in this setting it was just so different. Think about this for a minute, and i think people have tendency to be a little, wound too tightly on this stuff. You can get into whether this was appropriate venue for this sort of thing but ill tell you what, when youre in the middle of campaign and youre 18 days out you have to take advantage and exploit every second of every day to campaign. You know that message before, i thought it was strategically brilliant, the media was covering it. And couldnt he had it, right . So he exploited that situation. There is always risk in that, we know that right. Some boos with a lot of people. People are saying inappropriate venue, this isnt for the faint of heart. Politics is a contact sport. It is a cutthroat business, and that is not for everybody. I get that. I dont know if i would have done that in that situation. Not saying i wouldnt have, but ill tell you what, some of the stuff he does, again, it is asymmetrical and it goes over harris i will say this, and i agreed with sandra at that moment because of the boos, i mean i have attended the dinner before. I never heard anybody get booed but is that more reflection he couched it that way on what the audience, that is an elite crowd in new york city for that type of audience. To me that was sort of why, which i thought this joke was very funny from donald trump when he was talking about how they had both met each Others Campaign teams and he met hers and it was msnbc. Harris he pointed to the people in the room. New york times. Look, they both got a little personal there, but 75 of what each of them said was very funny. I was literally laughing out loud at some of the things donald trump said. The comment about the fact that Michelle Obama goes out there and gives these great speeches. Harris that was hilarious. Everybody loves it. And melania gets same speech and gets canned. There was humor involved. By and large it was really funny. I know i was laughing out loud. Sandra you didnt see if you were watching speeches on tv, interaction of two candidates sitting on either side of cardinal dolan, they did appear to be friendly with each other and they were laughing and exchanging words. So you couldnt really see all of that, if you just heard the speeches you might have had a different reaction. Two observations, Maria Bartiromo looked absolutely georgous. She is in every shot behind trump. In the red dress and white gloves. She looked great. My second observation, people should look at the dinner from four years ago with romney and obama. Harris yes. They were both very good. They were both very funny but it was appropriate. I think most of the jokes here were appropriate. Some crossed the line. Its a shame, absolutely right politics is not for the faint of heart, this particular dinner, 18 days out is supposed to show we have common humanity among us despite were in tough political season. I have done some polling when i had to run for office and so i understand what methodology is. We all know democrats are oversampled because there are more registered democrats across the United States than there are republicans. But i think there is is an undercurrent going on right now of people who may have dropped out of this political process, maybe didnt vote in 2012. If you recall, 3 to 4 million registered republicans did not vote in that election. Some believe it was the, not happy with mitt romney. I dont know what states those were in. If it would have made difference in the election but donald trump, the challenge for him, can he get new voters . Can he get people who have dropped out of the process. Maybe they didnt vote four years ago. Maybe they didnt vote eight years ago. Vote from time to time. Sometimes voters, if he can drive them to the polls it will throw these polling numbers off. You can poll for that. Sandra julie, were in the final stretch. How crucial are wins in some key battleground states like ohio. He has a tough task. He has to run the table in ohio, florida, North Carolina, an pennsylvania which no republican has won since i believe 19898. He has to make sure that he doesnt lose states republicans win traditionally, arizona, which he is not in a great situation. He has a very tough road going forward. I say this about the ohio poll. That same poll showed him up by three last time they polled. He is not trending in the right direction. If i were the Trump Campaign i would stop everything else, model my voters very carefully and make sure they get to the polls because if they dont, he is already losing virginia. Virginia is off the table. That is traditionally purple state. That is trending more and more blue. He has got to win the four states that i mentioned. He is not doing that right now. You and i were talking before the show that there may be problems about black millenials going to the polls. But not that they would switch to donald trump what would they do . I find it very hard to believe in 2016, she is going to outdo what barack obama did and over last two times that he ran, which she is i find it very hard to believe, he had emotional connection to the black vote. I think donald trump actually does make this point well when he talks about africanAmerican Voters and hispanic voters and Hillary Clinton saying that she only views them as a votes and not individuals that deserve a better future. I think that is a, some sound bite and sound hit to hit her on. Donald trump, insert any generic republican, insert any generic democrat, republican faces daunting electoral map to win. My concern for donald trump right now, if you are down in state like arizona, he needs not only flip states that romney lost in 2012, like ohio, he also has to hang on to those more solidly republican states. So, you know, we need to look at those states as well like arizona, see what t that looks like in next couple weeks here because there just isnt a lot of time left. House republicans ramping up pressure on the fbi to get more information about quid pro quo allegations involving Patrick Kennedy and his efforts to downgrade the classification of some of Hillary Clintons i mail. October 27th, ahead of several hearings he has planned. House judiciary, Bob Goodlatte is calling on attorney general Loretta Lynch, kennedy part of hillarys inner circle at state committed a crime. Julie i come to you on this. They would love for any of this to go away at this point. October 27th, is fraught with difficulty. That is sticky date. That is before the election. If that happens, and if she gets in, youre going to have such negative growth, you will have problems like you have never had before and our companies and our johnson will flee, believe me. Im going to get us to 4 growth and create 25 million jobs over 10year period. [cheering] many workers are earning less today, than they were 18 years ago. Theyre working harder and longer and theyre making less. Some of them are working two jobs and even three jobs, but still, taking home less pay than they were taking home 18 and 20 years ago. But im working harder too, folks. I am working harder. There is no doubt about it. I have got three stops today. Weve got three of these today. [cheering] weve got three. Ive got three, on occasion i have four. I have one rest day where i have two. But these are massive rallies, and well do this for another 19 days. [cheering] right up until the actual vote of november 8th, and then i dont know what kind of shape im in but i will be happy and at least i will have known, win, lose or draw, and im almost sure, if the people come out, were going to win but i will be [cheering] i will be happy with myself because i always say, i dont want to think back, if i only i did one moralely, i would have won North Carolina by 500 votes, instead of losing it by 200 votes, right . If only i did. So i never want to ever look back. I never want to say that about myself. We have to work, you have to get everybody you know out there. Companies like carrier are firing their workers and moving to mexico. Ford is moving all of its small car production announced two weeks ago, to mexico. That is on top of a 2. 5 million plan they already built. When impresident , if Companies Want to fire their workers or leave for mexico or other parts of the world, there will be a tax of 35 tax for any product they want to ship into this country. [cheering] you know what is going to happen because im a free trader. A lot of people dont believe that. Im a free trader, but our politicians have made such horrible trade deals, that theyre killing our workers, killing our companies and companies being forced to move in including the fact taxes are so high but there will be consequences, and were not going to lose a company in North Carolina, have them go to mexico, someplace else, make the products sell them back in here, which we will have a very strong border, but sell it through our border and there are no consequences . I tell you what will happen when we do this. For years our government has tried to stop our companies from leaving. Guess what is going to happen. Theyre not going to leave anymore because all of sudden it wont work. If they do, at least well make a lot of money when they ship their products across the border. Okay . [cheering] the politicians, you never even heard this you heard it from me over the last six months. For me it was so simple. You want to move. Good luck. Enjoy the heat but, let me tell you, when you make your air conditioner, you make your car, you do this, youre going to leave all those people unemployed . There are consequences, you will pay a tariff or a tax. Hillary clinton raised countless millions of dollars and theyre not leaving, from big donors, who want to ship our jobs to other countries including millions of dollars, from corporations and countries pushing for the next nafta, the next horrible trade deal. It is called the next transpacific partnership. Dont let that happen. Then rest of your jobs will be gone. [booing]. The rest of your jobs. That is how our system is corrupt and broken. Were going to take on big donors. Were going to take on big business and big media, that have been enriched themselves at your expense. I didnt need to do this, folks. I was part of the other side a long time. I understand the game as well as anybody, as well as anybody. But i saw the game and i saw it first happened and this country has been great to me. I love this country. And i said our country will not survive if we continue to play that game. So this is always a tough thing to do but im doing it, and i am so invigorated by the kind of reception. Look at this, to the corners of the room. [cheering] make America Great again, is what were going to do. It is all about making America Great again, were going to do it. And i understand it. I understand it from both sides, believe me. I think you know that. Thank you. Media is so corrupt that hillary was given the exact questions to a previous debate. Do you remember this, right . Just recently. Word for word, given the questions. Here are the questions. Here are the questions. Nobody gave me the question . Now i dont know what i would do . Would i turn the people in or would i take the questions . She was give the question, i think i turn them in. I would say wait a minute what is going on over here . I want to know was she given questions to my debate. It doesnt matter because we won so. [cheering] based on everything we won. I hope that especially the last, i think the first one was fine, i thought it was good. I never did this stuff before in all fairness. I think we did well. I think it was good. They gave me, this Great Commission on public, on president ial debates, they were wonderful, except they gave me a broken mic. I am screaming into the mic all night. I think first one was fine. I think we won easily the second one and third one was our best, right . Third one . [cheering] but she was given the questions to a debate by donna brazile, who is now under pressure to resign. She should be. She should resign. [booing] but i ask you, why didnt hillary say i cant do this . I cant do this . I cant take, i cant take these questions . Nobody pro the media is asking that question. Why is it . Theyre putting a lot of pressure on donna brazile. She was on television the other night. It was brutal. Theyre putting a lot of pressure on her, but tell me, she happened the handed the questions to hillary. Figured out the answers put whatever she had to do, then why she didnt she say im not allowed to do this . Years ago, years ago, there was a show called the 64,000dollar question. Does anybody remember . Dont say it . Really . A contestant, charles, go ahead what . [shouting] correct. How do you know it . Look how young that guy is. Contestant got the questions in advance, prior to the show and his life was ruined, but hillary got the questions in advance, and the press doesnt even bring it up. Can you man if i got the questions in advance and they found out . Can you, can you imagine if i got the questions and they found out . They would reinvent a much more sinister form of the electric chair, is that right . It would be awful. But i have to ask the press to find out why arent they asking hillary why she didnt turn in the people that gave her the answers and those questions . [shouting] but this is even bigger than what were talking about, because were playing for the presidency of the United States. Hillary clinton is the most corrupt politician ever to seek the office of the presidency. [shouting] lock her up lock her up lock her up lock her up well, lets do this. Lets do this. November 8th, lets win, lets win. [cheering] lets win. We win, we have lots of options but we got to win. What a waste of time if we dont pull this off. You know, these guys have said, doesnt matter if you win or lose, there has never been a Movement Like this in the history of this country. I say it matters to me whether we win or lose because [cheering] so, so i will have over 100 million of my own money in this campaign. So if i lose, if i lose, i will consider this, the nice part about saying that, i only tell you that because that means im not taking all of this money from all of these people that hillary is taking money. Right . [cheering] and you know her and her husband made 250 million, i said at the second debate so why arent you putting 5 million, 10 million, 15, 25 . Im putting in over 100. Why arent you putting in 10 million into your own campaign . Theyre not putting anything. And were fighting this juggernaut because they have billions of dollars they have raised. And were fighting. I turned on the other day, i was in florida, and i was in pennsylvania. I turned on the television. It was ad after ad after ad, most of those ads were phony ads. Most of the things in those ads were false. They were false. I never said it. They know i didnt say it. They have different things. The, i wont go into things because my people go crazy. Dont be particular, just, i like to deny things, like, i like to deny because, they say talk about jobs. But these things are so false. All of these things are so false, such lies but hillary, it is ad after ad after ad, all paid for by wall street and special interests. All paid for. And im saying to myself, i think they said in florida the number of ads will be 50 to one and were tied in florida. And i think were going to win florida. [applause] but the ads are phony ads. Theyre untrue. Mostly untrue. There is a little truth in them but mostly. And remember when you are watching television you see one of the thousands and thousands of ads, just remember, put wall street on top. It is wall street. That is who paid for it, largely paying for it. Now from wikileaks weve just learned she tried to get 12 million from the king of morocco for an appearance. More pay for play. [booing]. Thats why im proposing a a package of ethics reforms to make our government honest once again. [inaudible] time to drain the swamp in washington, d. C. [cheering] those reforms include the following. A fiveyear ban on white house and congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service.
