Weeks and that will he will it us the true state of the report. Special report online coming up. Thanks for inviting us into your home. Fair, balanced and unafraid, greta goes on the record right now. Big night right here on the record. A lawyer for one officer in the freddie gray case is here. His gag order has just been lifted. What does he think, really position, about prosecutor marilyn mosbymosby . Find out. And Hillary Clinton spent her entire speech attacking donald trump. What happened to jobs . Did donald trump get under her skin . And business woman omarosa is here. And get ready for the part of the interview with eivanka that you did not see. First, was it ransom . The giant pay day happening the
same day iran released four american hostages, but not bob levinson. And tonight the white house insisting that giant january Cash Transfer wasnt ransom, it was just a coincidence. Thats weird since thats not what iran is saying. And now a new report just out that the Justice Department objected to the iran deal. Senator tom cotton appears to point to the deal as demanding answers about that payment. He went on the record. Good to be on with you. Nsenator, the payment of 40 million, Obama Administration says that was not a paid ransom for the americans. Do you believe that . No, greta, not at all. I said it was a ransom at the time. I find it highly suspect that that a 36yearold claim was Miles Per Hour rack uhe husbandly solved on the same
day. And now we have more american hostages in iran. Why do you think the president did this Company Inside dental with the time of the release of the time of the nuclear deal . If it werent ransom, wouldnt he have come up with a better way . What also happened at the same time this cold hard cash was flown into iran in an unmarked aircraft and the hostages were released was the final nuclear deal. I and many others had been sharply critical of the president for not negotiating the release of all these hostages before he even sat down at the tail to talk about the nuclear deal. So i suspect that he wanted to have these hostages gone even though the price of it was 3400 million and small up marked bills flying into iran on an up marked aircraft like it was a drug cartel transaction, not a
legitimate negotiation between two governments. And this was money that the United States had had from before the revolution in 1979, right . This was part of a settlement with iran about the funds . Well, it was disputed money represented to a transaction, shah of iran before ayatollahs took over, it hasnt been disputed for 36 years. And then just miraculously on the day hostage were released and the deal implemented, they fink and he wi finally resolved that it is mute and they have given iran more money than they were entitled to under the regular rules of interest accrual. And we now know that they gave to them in cold hard cash, cash that we cannot trace that we cannot know what happened to. And that even the White House Press secretary admitted may be going into the hands of hamas, hezbollah or other terrorist ransoms. Paying ransom is against American Polling policy, but w
you do about it . We can be a lot tougher on the front end. We should have said take we wouldnt even talk to iran about its Nuclear Program until all americans held in captivity were released. Remember, four years ago when the talks first started, irans economy was suffering badly because of sanctions that congress had imposed on iran against the wishes of barack obama and Hillary Clinton at the time i should add. The sanctions were tough enough that we could have set the terms of the negotiations which included releasing all american hostages before we even sat down. Now what do we have some a bad nuclear deal and more americans being held hostage and iran with 400 million in cold hard cash. Well have one of the children of former fbi agent bob levinson on in a minute, hes been held since 2007 in iran. At least we think hes held in iran. Any thoughts about that tonight . Because he didnt come home in the prisoner swap in january. Well, my heart breaks for the levinson family. And as ive longnegotiated for
of all the hostages. When they were released in january, i rejoiced for them and their families, but the levinson family still on dwonders what f happens to learn shappen s s to mr. Levinson and we have other hostages, as well. Senator, thank you for joining us. Viewers, vote at home. Should the United States hold off on giving or returning any money to countries that are Holding Americans hostage . Tweet yes or no. Greta. Well show you your live twitter votes throughout the show. But what about bob levinson . Hes the longest held hostage in history. He vanished in iran in march of 2007. And in january of this year, the white house said not sure where
levinson is. We have reason to believe that he no longer is in iran. And that is thats why we continue to press for information about his whereabouts. And well continue to do that and weve secured a commitment from the iranians to use the channel that has now been opened to secure the release of those individuals that we know were being held by iran unjustly, to try to gather information about mr. Levinsons possible whereabouts. Dan wlech slevinson is on th record. Your family has written another letter to iran today. What are you seeking . Were trying to get my dad home. Its been almost 9 1 2 years and weve been on this show many times now and were trying to make sure that the Obama Administration and iranian government will be working together to make sure hes brought home. Because we do believe the
iranian government arrested him and they have been holding him and are responsible for him. So they have the responsibility to bring him home to us. Do you believe the Obama Administration either, a, knows what happened to your father or where he is or, b, is just not putting the right pressure on to get it done . Until my dad is brought home, it will never be about theyre in communication with us, but were pressuring to make sure they work with the iranians to as part of the nuclear deal, iran promised for to do everything they could and so far they havent. I went over there. They didnt have any answers. Its knnot enough. And the Obama Administration needs to be talking to them constantly and making sure that this is resolved. Were hoping that he resolves
this case, brings him home before his term ends. How tough has this been on the family . I know ive spoken to your motherof your family in an effort to try to keep the heat up. So the American People can get an idea of how rough this is, tell me. Every day is a struggle. Every day were to figure out how to get him home and it just gets more difficult each day because its 9 1 2 years, longest held hostage in u. S. History. And were never losing hope, but its very frustrating the pace of progress and lack of progress. And just thinking of constantly thinking of new ways that we can press theed admi administration to bring him home. And you have no idea whether he is dead or alive, right . We believe hes alive. The fbi believes hes alive. Theyre tracking every lead and they say there is no reason to believe hes not alive. And i think the administration
believes hes alive. So everybody weve talked to believes hes alive and he was alive a few years ago when people thought he was dead. So no reason to believe that he is dead now. Why was he not part of the swap in january, do you think . I think the fact that the iranians have not even admitted to having him even though its clear that anybody who knows the basic facts, he was arrested, it was on a tiny island with heavy security. Of course the iranians know where he is, but theyre not saying that and that has been a road block to everything. And we need the administration to press them harder and not give them any kind of out to suggest that they dont have him. Dan, thank you. Thank you for having us. Well, Iranian State media claiming that the 400 million payout was ransom, but today josh earnest said this. Was this money ransom for the folks that were released . No, it was not. It is against the policy of the
United States to pay ransom for hostages. Ransom or not . And is this a dangerous precedent for the white house to set . Oliver north is going on the record. Is it ransom . This is clearly ransom. Why else would you move it in foreign currency shrink wrapped on an aircraft in the middle of the night . This is ransom. How is it different from what you did . First of all, the iranians paid us, we dpts pay them. You may remember the transaction was israeli which had been doctored so they wouldnt work, we receive a hostage and millions of dollars, which of course i used for the knick began resistance. This is not a precedent. The very first president to get a congressional authorization to pay ransom was thomas jefferson. I think when people object to
it, its against current american policy do this. In fact may remember a few years back i was involved with some of the american hostages held by the farc, the three american hostages held for five years, finally arrested the people who had them and there were millions offered to the farc but never delivered. We have a reward for Justice Program that ive seen employed in places like the philippines where a Million Dollars is offered for the safe return information leading to the safe return of a particular hostage or group of hostages. So its the not unprecedented, however this administration and Congress Went along with it making the payment of ransom illegal immediately after a New York Times correspondent who had been held hostage was suddenly free and money was trance actransacted. Im not trying to justify it because i believe as i wrote at the time,ce transacted. Im not trying to justify it because i believe as i wrote at the time, trce transacted. Im not trying to justify it because i believe as i wrote at the time, i was told prepare a document and one of the documents i prepared was these are the reasons we should not do this because it will promote more hostages. The thing that i find particularly disturbing about this is the idea that the bochl Obama Administration says this is not a ransom even though theyre acknowledging that iran i cant bexwobeian gosh negotia say it was. When first sat down with the likes of the current president and previous demand was the 4
million. That was their first request back in the 1980s and still their request. This was ransom for these americans to come home. And this administration has consistently deceived people as to what theyre doing. Think about it. Fast and furious, the irs use of the irs as a Political Tool and lying about that. Did you get to keep your Health Care Program and your doctor . All of these lies that this administration perpetrated over benghazi. Think about it. And now of course the emails. This is an administration that has consistently lied and the Mainstream Media has never done a damn thing to find out for example why has this administration consistently bent over backwards for the Iranian Regime . Remember the time when the Group Revolution june 12, 2008. There you go. Colonel north, nice to see you. Governor mike pence breaking from his running mate today. He endorsed speaker paul ryans bid. Today pence said he specifically encouraged him to endorse speaker ryan as we learn Party Leaders worry Trumps Campaign is going off the rails and want to get trump back on message. Our panel is here. Rick, lets start first with the intervention. There is panic in republican circles. They have seen this story line with donald trump joisting with a military family for four or five days and he doesnt seem to be able to get back on message. They are begging him to apologize and Start Talking about his campaign message. Start talking a very vulnerable Hillary Clinton. And even tonight hes back to what he normally does and its a meandering speech where hes talking about all manner of things. Hes not found a way to bring this discipline that he keeps promising Republican Leaders ppd and theyre getting frustrated. Thats why you have these prominent voices saying we need to change things fast. And Reince Priebus, gop chair and speaker gingrich, heres what gingrich said earlier today on fox business network. Trump is like watching a team throw an interception on the first play and go back off the field. Hes had a series of interceptions that do not bode well to his campaign. So what did we have, 98 days until the election. Can he do it . He has two huge advantages. One is the country really wants change. And the other is Hillary Clinton is the most corrupt and dishonest g dishonest candidate weve ever had. I think some of what trump has done is slfr destructive. Gingrich says that he has faith that trump can recover. I think that requires trump to change. And i think what weve seen is trump is not going to change. He is the same person that he was growing up when he glued his brothers blocks together because he didnt want his brother to have blocks when he was throwing erasers at miss teahis teacher and saying youre fired on apprentice. Iss his teacher and saying youre fired on apprentice. Ss his teacher and saying youre fired on apprente. His teacher and saying youre fired on apprentice. His teacher and saying youre fired on apprentice. His teacher and saying youre fired on apprentice. Throwing all sorts of fire bombs all over the place. He wont change. And i have many people i know who are in their 70s and they wont change at this point. His numbers are slipping. A recent poll shows numbers are slipping. That secretary lit krit gclintoa bigger bounce. I think people are listening to people at his rallies. Dont change, we love you. But they had need to reach out
beyond that room and instead theyre looking in the mirror and not liking reflection that theyre seeing. Is this a probl this is a problem for the Republican Party and donald trump is not changing. And youre right, i dont think his followers want him to. Thank you both. And we have our eyes on florida where any minute will donald trump are take the stage. Well bring you there live when he begins to speak, but right now john roberts is live at that rally. John . Reporter good evening to you, greta. Donald trump should take the stage in just a few minutes time and well see if the suggestions to stay more on message where l. Ho will hold for this appearance. It seemed to this afternoon in daytona beach, right off the bat he went at Hillary Clinton very hard. But there is distinct worry in the Trump Campaign particularly among the Republican Leadership about donald trump going so far
off message that the headlines are all negative, headlines are not what they want him talking about. And he really kind of is digging himself a hole. They were thinking about having some sort of a meeting maybe this weekend where Reince Priebus and newt gingrich, mike huckabee, would sit down and talk to him about some sort of strategic recalibration of the me message. It looks like todays not going to happen, but im hearing that he has a series of phone calls over the next few days where w. People like prReince Priebus an gingrich. They want him to prosecute the clinton record and obama record and saying as president what he would do to help out this country. One republican official was so frustrated by what is going on
that this person told me if you painted me a scenario where donald trump is just here and drawing in the accolades of the crowd but doing everything can he to not get elected, id probably buy that. The fact that our fox news poll shows him ten points behind Hillary Clinton now, your guest earlier was talking about panic sweeping through the Republican Party, you can bet that panic is heightened because of the results of that poll. Except i hear the Rolling Stones saying time is on my side, so i guess hes not too worried about it. Tra thank you, john. The Police Officers charged in the freddie gray case is now speaking. Kicking off prime time on the Number One Network in all of cable here on the record, weve been following the freddie gray case from the very beginning. All charges against all officers have either been dropped or the Police Officers acquitted at trial. During the trial, the lawyers were silenced with a gag order, but now it has been lifted. The lawyer for the highest ranking Police Officer is here to go on the record. Your client was under indictment for a year plus. How tough was that for that officer . It was extremely difficult
not only for him but his family, both emotionally and financially. Being charged with a felony, multiple felonies. He was suspended without pay. He lost his Health Care Benefits for him and his entire family. And luckily the fraternal order of police in baltimore stepped up and supported every one of those officers financially which has been a huge help. What was it like when the judge said not guilty . I think we all just kind of looked at each other, took a deep breath and waited for the judge to leave before we congratulated each other. It was very emotional. I dont think people really understand that and the bond between the lawyer and the client especially something as long as emotional as this. Weve been representing all the attorneys, we had a fantastic defense team. Myself and two other attorneys, three law clerks. We worked together every day and then you add on the other five Police Officers and their teams, we all worked together very
closely. Ill miss those nights, long nights. Marilyn mosby. Should she go . You need to look to whether it be the attorney grievance commission, whoever. I just think some of the comments that she made need to be thoroughly looked at. What bothers me the most, first of all, she quickly charged and then she had a photo spread in like vogue or something, on stage with prince, and then goes through this whole thing, and their acquittals one after another and then at the end when she i thought when some she going to get the message that the police wont get convicted, the indicacases dropped and she didnt have the guts to show up and do it herself. And she did not appear in course when rice was found not guilty or the day when the
others were dismissed. Viewers may not realize that typically the police and prosecutor are in line. Thats correct. Its a very difficult in baltimore i would say it would be difficult, but luckily in baltimore the Police Officers are extremely professional. Whether they like miss mosby, whether they like the prosecutor, they will continue to do their job, they will continue to work with the prosecutors. And they will just deal with the issues as they come up. Were the prosecutors fair . Glink t i think the prosecutors did their job. I think they brought the case they thought they had. And obviously judge williams didnt think much of the case. I bet if we rolled back the tape, i bet im sure i would have said i would have done a jury trial. Obviously you were right with a bench trial. Im always afraid of a bench trial as. Why did you do that . Those were difficult decisions. S. Why did you do that . Those were difficult decisions. S. Why did you do that . Those were difficult decisions. It wasnt made overnight. With the porter case, we wanted to go with a jury trial. When we got the decision and how that played out, we knew the second case, officer neros case was less driven by facts and more driven by law. And we wanted a judge to make the decisions based on law. And luckily enough, we made the right call. You sure did. I understand that i probably said that i would have gone for a jury, but you sure did make the right call. And were glad we did. Is lieutenant brian rice going to go pa back to being a . All of the officers have been restored to at least administrative duty, they have been restored to pay status. They are applying for back pay. They are being placed in what im being told are appropriate positions meaningful positions within the department. Commissioner davis has done a
very good job ensuring that would he occur. And they all want to stay. They all want to continue do the job. What a tough year. Its been a tough year. Its not going to go away tomorrow. Its something that they will live with for the rest of their lives unfortunately. P. Thanks for joining us. Thank you for having me. Secretary clinton have a jobs plan . Amarosa goes on the record. Nice to see you. Good to see you, get today. You know i dont know if i think its wise for her to get into a fight with donald trump instead of talking about her jobs, but you tell me. What do you think . My earpiece just went out. I think she has lost audio. Lucky me. Can you hear me, amarosa . Hi there. Oh, good, there you are. Lucky me. So let me ask you, today secretary clinton was supposed to talk about jobs instead she got into batting du inting dona around a bit. Is it wise for her to get in for a fight with donald trump . I think its sdadangerous particularly with her record. I was reading things that barack obama said about her service on the board of walmart. Do we really want to go into what the Clinton Foundation is doing and why are they not more in the United States . Does she really want to go toe to toe with donald trump in this way . Let me ask you about this report that some of the party elders, mary giuliani, speaker newt gingrich, Reince Priebus,
are thinking that they might have an intervention to perhaps get him back on rail. Number one, is he off rail . Number two, will he listen to them . Every single week of this campaign and im talking about way back in june of last year, every single week people have been trying to write Donald Trumps political owe bbituary, hell never get on track. Here he is going toe to toe with Hillary Clinton, they are competing for the most Important Office in this land. And i worry not about him being able to refocus. Its a tough week, we have to acknowledge that but donald trump is able to continue to press the most Important Message and that is making America Great again. And improving the economy and helping americans have a better way of life. And we see donald trump walking out. You say theyre go toe to toe. In the Battle Ground states which is important, but overall his numbers have dropped against her. But you can see that he has a roaring crowd. He fills the arena. But his poll numbers dont look good, amarosa. You know, its because were coming out of the convention. Democrats just put on quite a show in philadelphia. And so these numbers are coming from that. And shes benefiting from a significant bounce from that. But this isnt going to last very long because americans will continue to see that not only does she not have a plan, she will continue what has been happening for the last seven years of this Democratic Administration and people want improvements. They want to see more jobs. They want to see more money in their paychecks. And theyre just not getting it. He certainly has razzled dazzled that crowd there in florida in jacksonville. Amarosa, thank you very much for joining us. And of course well keep monitoring this donald trump rally. And ivanka trump is next. How does she balance her busy life and the Wild Campaign . Breo opens up airways to help improve breathing for a full 24 hours. Breo contains a type of medicine that increases the risk of death from asthma problems and may increase the risk of hospitalization in children and adolescents. Breo is not for people whose asthma is well controlled on a longterm asthma control medicine, like an inhaled corticosteroid. Once your asthma is well controlled, your doctor will decide if you can stop breo and prescribe a different asthma control medicine, like an inhaled corticosteroid. She has three children, one is an infant, balance with work and a president ial campaign . Youre a mother, youre a wife, youre a business woman, youre in a campaign. What time do you wake up in the morning . Early. What is it . I have three children now. All under the age of five. And my youngest is four months old. So with each child, i think i wake up around 30 piminutes earlier. So now im at the 5 00 mark. But thats it. There is a line in the sand. I wake up around 5 00 and also numerous times beforehand because obviously my four month old is not sleeping from 7 00 p. M. Until that point in time. So i just dont sleep very often anymore. But i try to wake up and get myself fully ready for the day before my kids wake up. So my oldest, my 5yearold and 2 1 2yearold, will normally wake up between 6 30 and 7 00, so i like to shower, exercise on the days that i do that during the week, read the newspaper, really sort of take that time for myself and be fully ready to roll so when my kids wake up, i can have focused dedicated time with them before i drop them off at school or the bus and start my day. So what time do you walk out the door usually . It depends on the time of year. Right now were in camp season. So it depends when School Starts or camp starts. But normally around 7 45, 8 00. And what time do you walk
back in the house usually at night . Gli alwa i always make it home for well, not always, but 95 about of the of the time, i make it home for dinner. I like to be home by 630, i have dinner with the read books to and put them to bed. Try to put them to bed between 7 30 and 8 00. Then back to work. Phone calls, emails . Basically because my time in the office because i like to be home in the evenings and because i prioritize the tails of the day with my children, morning and evening, i try to make my time in the office incredibly productive and i dont do things there that i could do remotely. It is pretty rare that i would return emails. I would take calls, meetings, walk around the office and interact with people. So i really spend my time in the office having more sort of inner personal moments and then i spend my time very late at night
responding to emails and dealing with logistics. Obviously having three kids is the stuff that keeps me up at night. All the logistics of managing their lives as owe foesd my own. And you have a brand too, right . I do. When do you work on your brand . I think about how i balance my work at the Trump Organization and the company i built, which is really an amazing business and im deeply passionate about. So i think about the balance of those two things really based on prioritization and where i need to be in given moment. When were finishing up construction on a post office then im more focused on my brand and building that business. I think its the same as being a parent. You just try to navigate and be
where you need to be when you need to be there. Okay, now lets fold in the campaign. Youre working on i assume youre part of the campaign as well, right . Im a daughter. Okay. I guess im certainly around the campaign. I have no official role within the campaign. To get phone calls from your father . Well, one of from my father, of course, yeah. How many phone calls do you usually get from your father . Quite a lot. I call him a lot, he will call me a lot. Were in the habit of this because we Work Together for ten years plus at the Trump Organization. And we speak used to be able to just walk into his Office Multiple times a day. Now he is traveling so much for the campaign and traveling all over the country, so we end up speaking a lot more telephonically. And we spend a lot of time together on the weekend and in new jersey. So we see each other all the time. Were incredibly close. If he is elected president , will he be running his company
or will he turn the reins over to his three children . Is there discussion about that . Have you thought about that . He already said that his whole focus will be this country and it already is. So he has stepped way from the business. At this point in time. And he relies on my brothers and i to continue to manage the business. And hes given us that responsibility. Which were very happy to take on. So that why when you asked me about the campaign, im wearing a lot of hats these dayes. Mother to an infant and two other children. I have a business of my own. And the Trump Organization. So i really do think of my role as a daughter and im there to support my father to be, you know, to help him in any way i can. But not in an official capacity. I dont need a tight dole that. And coming up, how could we let this happen . Ill tell what you im talking
about off the record, thats next. L cancer. Stage four cancer. And i was shocked. The plan at that point was to start chemo. Every three weeks i would get my chemo infusion. Ways so excite theyd followed their release second by second from the time they arrived at the teheran airport. They were flown to safety by our very good friends, the swiss. But one american was not part of that prisoner swap. He was left behind. Missing former fbi agent bob levinson. Last seen in iran on march 9, 2007. Where is he . I dont know. Neither does his heart broken family. But iran does. And why hasnt president obama with all his dealings with iran figured out how to put pressure on iran to at least tell the levinson family, is he dead or alive . I dont buy that its an
impossible task to get that information for the family out of iran. I just dont see the commitment. Now the Obama Administration claims that finding bob levinson is a high priority but it cant be that high 7 1 2 years into obamas presidency. When it comes to bob levinson, we are exactly where we were at the beginning of his presidency, nowhere. Is that your definition of high priority . Not mine. And thats my off the record comment tonight. Results on the screen right now, should the u. S.
