Hasand i take that on in the book quite heavily, this component of the ideology and how we have to discredit this ideology. There are going to be military actions that were going to have to take. But its the ideology that we are going to have to go after. The way i read the book, to sort of cut to the chase a little bit is that you compare president obama to jimmy carter. President carter. Quite a bit. They are the same . I think in some ways there is a disconnect between what we can actually do as a nation and what and the iteddology. I think there is a similarity in some of the id ideological underpinnings. Fighting in this case radical islamism whereas jimmy carter he sort of believed that we could that you know, that communism wasnt a problem until the very end of his tour as president. And then he suddenly realized because of what was going on in iran what was happening, he made some other decisions that he had to make, similar to what president obama is doing with this trickle effect of leaving our troops in afghanistan and also adding numbers in to iraq. You went after him for saying there is a huge blunder. I dont know what the exact term for taking the troops out of iraq. In 2011. What were his generals telling him . Everyone was telling him dont do this. Why did he do it then . It was a political decision that he had made and it was based on his own political ideology and political promise that he gave to his base, i guess, instead of looking at it from the national security, what was best for this country, what was best for our country, and i think it was a huge strategic mistake. I describe and it then describe the consequences of it but also how do we overcome that . Because we can still overcome it. Its not an enemiable that is undefeatable. And one thing we noticed in particular was the anger directed at former secretary of state Hillary Clinton for saying this earlier this year. Were going to put a lot of coal miners and Coal Companies out of business. When she says she is going to put coal miners out of business but give you a subsidy and retrain you for something else, what do you say . I would rather keep on running coal. So, the idea of a border fence has been in our platform for many, many years and just changing the word from fence to wall is what they did and maybe it was a little hat tip to donald trump on that issue. And thats fine. Its something that the party had in the platform for a long time. All right. But it doesnt say who is going to pay for it. So he didnt totally tip your hat the republican rules committee. We didnt say that part. Thats for donald trump to get done. Thats for him to get done. We are just saying what our position is as far as who pays for it, you know, Congress Already agreed that it would be paid for 10 years ago and now it will be up to President Trump to figure that one out. But i think he is going to try to get that one done. So today the big news also that senator Bernie Sanders is finally endorsed secretary of state Hillary Clinton. Senator, i mean donald trump had two tweets. One said Bernie Sanders endorsing crooked Hillary Clinton is like occupy wall street endorsing goldman sachs. And he also said to all the bernie he also said to all the bernie voters who want to stop bad trade deals and global special interest we welcome you with open arms. People first. Your thoughts on this endorsement today . First tweet i thought was pretty good. Double edged sword. She wants to show unity but got to show unity with a devout socialist from vermont. Im not sure how thats going to work out. I mean, i dont think hillary moving to the left is good on a general election move for her. You know, so, look, i think its a double edged sword. I think hillary has bigger problems. The problem she is people think she is dishonest. Comey basically laid out the path of lies that she has been living. And you see it in the polling. She just cant move up. And donald trump getting more consistent and the last month i think he has been much better and reading from the teleprompter has been great. Whats sort of interesting is because you are not telling me that you think he is going to look for someone who can perhaps garner a certain demographic vote. Is he not looking for a woman or africanamerican. Almost seems like is he looking for someone who can work well with him and the rest of the stuff he will deal with some other way. Well, you know, definitely going to be unconventional choice. Donald trump has not done anything by the books during this entire race. And i dont expect that his v. P. Choice will be conventional either. But he will choose someone who will complement him. Someone who will bring experience to the table who is political and who knows how to govern. What happens if you dont agree with donald trump . Is he going to turn to the Vice President and fire him on the spot . I mean, i dont know how is he going to get away with that. Well, i think one of the reasons that donald and i have gotten along so well for the last decade is that he actually likes people to push back, to challenge him and to bring some new information to the table. He respects that a lot. And so, yes, if you are in that tight knit circle with him and he asks for your opinion, he expects you to be very candid and for you to have a point of view. You have to defend that point of view but he expects for you not to be a yes man or yes woman. He does not like that at all. All right. Im going to force to you play the veepstakes game that we all play in this country especially here in washington. Im not asking how think he should pick but just looking at the players who do you think is more likely to get chosen governor mike pence or speaker of the house Newt Gingrich . Thats what we are hearing on the tea leaves of the two leading this race right now. Well, i would go ahead and put my money on pence. You know, Newt Gingrich brings a lot to the table. He has so much experience. He started a revolution. He has changed the face of politics as well. Those are things that i think would complement donald, but you also have to look at the swing states, those battleground states that donald trump needs to win in. And so you will see that pence has that strength as well. Like you, greta, im curious to see who he will ultimately select as well. You know, i do believe that this race will be decided at the president ial debates and Vice President ial debates. Everyone seems to have made up his mind now except for the 20 who arent paying attention to this. They will decide when they see the candidates side by side. So if i were picking someone, i would look to see who i thought would look more president ial or more effective in the Vice President ial debate. I think speaker Newt Gingrich is more he could go rogue on him and say what he thinks and create a whole other dynamic. One other thing underrated by gingrich is the understood and respected whats going on inside the Republican Party. Early on. Early on. Dont minimize this guy because we have other talented candidates. Look at what is happening. I think trump was watching that, digesting that and when that transferred into gingrich supporting him, i think that meant a lot. I think matts right that loyalty does matter. I think he knows the game better than anyone. And if he needs to stay on trumps message i think he could do it. Matt, i dont think anyone could debate better than speaker Newt Gingrich. He has so much institutional knowledge. Is he so clever and is he so smart that if my attention were on that debate maybe im overemphasizing the importance of the debate but thats key to this election the president ial debate obviously. You look at the thing that donald trump needs, and one thing is that gravitas of experience i think Newt Gingrich brings a little bit experience level he knows washington and knows all the players here. Right now just about everywhere you go people are playing pokemon go a brand new app. Taking the country by storm. By some measures it already has as many users as twitter. Its unusual game because you are not just sitting at home on the couch playing. You are really going out because its tied to real world maps. But not everyone is so happy. The game causing injuries as people are more focused on playing the game than walking around. They there are even reports of falls, broken bones and pokemon related injuries. Even the new york city subway tweeting this picture. Everything is called lures. And lures are where you can go and find a pokemon. People can actually pay to put a lure down.
