There are different differences between watergate and benghazi. The press didnt look the other way and in watergate neither did congress. And in watergate, no one died. Yes, governor, i think you are absolutely right. It is a game changer and Judicial Watch was able to get these emails, the one from ben rh odesand a slew of others as well. They show that the white house and not just the cia know acting director mike morel took part in the alteration but the white house, highest levels in the white house altered those talking points to remove references to alqaeda, to it being a terrorist attack and for the crass political purpose of shielding a president ial campaign. Many of your former colleagues in the cia where you work, i am curious of how they reacted to the fact they were scrape goated through the whole process and it was their fault and they changed the talking points and they said dont send anyone in and change the security, i have to think that there are people deep in the agency who are utterly frustrated and angry they are blamed for things over which they had no control. Could you speak to that and tell me is that an accurate assess am . I have been out of the cia for many years, i would expect many good and patriotic people serving there that are frustrated by what happened in libya and in benghazi. I would have to say in in addition to the talking points which the cia participated, think about the role not just that agency our entire top level of u. S. Government organizations and National Security, the initial participation in libya, in 2011, when all of the above department of state. Department of defense, white house, National Security council and intelligence community, all participated and agreed in helping to facilitate the delivery of weapons to alqaeda, the militias that overthrew gha d difi. Governor, i hope they ask him about the archives of the documents and the records that would have been accumulated and hopefully savedurn his predecessor then secretary of state Hillary Clinton, and that would include of course, all of the roars of the telephone calls, the video, and whatever there might be of the mission and the attack that night and the cable traffic that was pouring in from all directions on that night. It would also include hopefully the record of cable traffic from other departments, military commands for instance and about what they were doing and how ready they were to step in and go forward and to mount an attempt at lost of a rescue of our people, and how and why they were held pack from acting. What is difference between the government oversight and process itself who gets appointed and who sits on the committee. What happens. Walk our audience. Frank wolf was specific about the make up of the select committee. I dont know if they will actual follow and pass a House Resolution 36 that frank wolf introduced it is the speaker who selects the members of the committee. Mr. Wolf recommend from the five committees of jurisdiction republican and democrat. The speaker his the jurisdiction. He may want to bring someone from outside to function in a special role. I am okay with that as well. I just want answers and peace for the families. Is there a difference tone the select committee and they are able to look at anything. Are they limited on what they can ask for in like the judiciary committee. Can they go anywhere they want to go in the investigation . They will be defined in the legislation that passes. And the september Intelligence Committee put out a thorough report. Even the redakted part of the thorough. And a lot of the work was done and in some cases pulling things together and running down leads that were stopped because of jurisdiction issues. You have to have the subpeona power and i would like to so who ever in charge to bring charges directly in federal court and not go through the attorney general. I think that is a good ponent because the attorney general will never file anything against somebody in the obama administration. Will the they be able to compel Hillary Clinton to provide testimony. You do get in legal issues there. But for the life of me, i cant believe she would not want to be forth coming. She was the one who came to a classified briefing that we had shortly after it all happen and said i want to get in to the bottom. It will be thorough and ruthless. And the accountability review board didnt find anything and held no one accountable. I think she would want to be true to her world and not compelled to come testify but should volunteer. I think she should and i hope she will. What about benghazi survivors, congressman. They will be able to come forward and tell their stories, they have been pretty much deepsix in the investigation. Thats right. The individuals need a subpeona and cant come forth and testify because of the nature of the work they were doing in the ground and other countries. Finally well be able to cut through the blocking issues, and bring forth the people that can provide the information. Lets remember that Diplomatic Security people were on the ground and dod had people on the ground. There were three attacks over 7 or 8 hours and the whole business we anyhow we didnt have time to get there. You didnt know how long it would last. During the visit justina mentioned to us if she is okay and did anything happen and she started talking about the situation that happen at way side in a shower and she was upset about it. She said that this employee at way side opened the shower curtain and this person was not supposed to be in the area of justinas showering area and she didnt have permission or access to the quarters and that let alone is disturbing and actually open a shower curtain on a child while they are naked and yell at them and justina spoke up and said to her, this is my private area and the lady accused my sister of talking become to her. Someone is in a shower and they opened the curtain to me. My sister is verye not somebody that would not, she would never act out badly. And thats why the situation doesnt make sense of her being in a behaviorial facility now. Justina spoke up and she said it twice to us. And then in the end of the visit myself and my parents we spoke up to the d~ cf employee. Her name is get connedin and saying she needs to talk about justina. No, you have to listen to it from justina and justina spoke up and said what happened and how that employee started yelling at her while she was showering. And anyways, what ended up happening, after they listened to her, she has to go back. No, shes not going back there. She has no other place to go. She said no, we have custody of justina. I said you are going to put her back in harms way after what my sister spoke up about. She said we have no room. Called the police because i am not going to let my sister go back in harms way and i have spoken up before. I will not let her be another number in the the system. Snshs jennifer, this is a troubling case. D~ cf said yesterday that your sister was loying and that really didnt happen and all of this is stuff made up. And this is what they said about her medical condition and she made tup and she is really not sick. Do you think your sister is loying and your parents are unfit. Those are the allegations that kept justina in custody for 15 months. No, i do not think my little sister is lying and my parents are not unfit. We are a loving family. We all say that. And my little sister would not do going to put yourself in the wrong situation. Shes never been like a bad kid. Shes always been a great kid and in school, they would put her in tone the two kids that would not be acting properly to level and smooth things out. For them to a kouz my sister of that, that is disturbing and on top of it, i thought they havent spoke out on things like everything they cant talk about a private matter and now accusing my sister of highing, it makes no sense. It really doesnt make sense. There is no consistency what so ever. And your mother wrote a touching letter. And i have gone through it. It is an honest and letter from a mothers heart that your mother wrote to the new commissioner of children and families in massachusetts and i read it, it sounds like a mom who loves her daughter and wants her home. Are you hopeful, jennifer that justina is going to be home son . I am very hopeful. I met with the secretary last week on tuesday with rev repped patrick mahoney. And he looked me in the eye and said hes working on getting my sister back home in connecticut. And i told him she needs to be home before her 16th birthday which is may 24th. And i keep staying neutral and not let myself get excited or the other way. But my little sister deserves to be home. Thats what she wants and asks for and people should listen to her. In your colume for time magazine, you said the issue with Donald Sterling is not a surprise. He has a long history of racism and what are we learning from all of this and why isnt it a surprise to people . I think it shouldnt be a surprise to people because of what we have learned from the court days against mr. Sterling and the federal case where he discriminated against blacks and latinos and people with children, that was just the tip of the iceberg. So these things are going on for a long time but nobody ever dealt with it, you know, straightforward. Sometimes i think that a lot of white people dont understand the fact that racism is real. More white people believe in ghosts than believe in racism is real sometimes. And that bothers me. This is it an ongoing problem and sometimes we have to take a moment and deal with. It it is obviously very real with Donald Sterling and the comments he made were outrageous. Is it possible that the nba could take the franchise away and you can own the clippers and concessions and building, but you cant play in the nba because your team is going to be disenfranchised from the ability to play; is that one of the options that the nba might have . I am pretty sure the commissioner has a lot of power and the board of governors, when they meet, that is t of the owners, and they have a number of ways of dealing with this, and i am sure they will find an appropriate way to deal with this. The whole idea is that someone like mr. Sterling should not be the face of nba ownership. Nba is about inclusion. And that is not what he understands at all. This is a great thing that that has happen. In your storied career, you faced levels of racism in college and up through the pros. React to this on a personal level. Milwaukee bucks hoired the first black general manager and i played for him and i saw in my sport, the door open again and again for minorities and people who are heretofore not had much opportunity. And so i have seen a lot of progress. It is a long ways to go. When swayings like this a rise it is good to so that people care and step forward to do something about it. You put together a compelling documentary called on the shoulders of giants. The greatest Basketball Team people never heard of. It is an amazing story and i never heard of the harlem wrens. It is it an incredible story and tell me why it is important to get the story out about the amazing Basketball Team that no one ever heard of . I think it is amazing because people have an idea that there is always professional basketball that is open to everybody. And for a couple of decades, black americans had to try to fight to play professional basketball with the rest of the league. Blacks were seggeigated and all sports were segeigated at that time. The nba started out for the first three years of existence, it was segregated and in 1950, they decided not dealing with what was going on now and they got with it and integrated the league. The sanctuaries of the country are filled and the national day of prayer is so important to stay focused on him all of the time and not just in times of crisis. We of course now have to have another National Conversation about race, according to the pundits. Really . He may very well be a racist, but hes for sure a creep. Hes no more representative of all the white people of america than al sharpton is representative of all the black people. People are individuals. And frankly, some individuals are racist. But they represent themselves. Not everyone who shares something in common with them. If a teenager hurls an insult at me, i just assume the kid didnt have good parents who taught him how to behave. I dont blame every teenager in america because i met one who didnt have enough time in the timeout chair when he was 3 years old. If a baseball player gets in a fight in a bar and punched something, i dont assume that everyone associated with baseball is some violent drunk. This is not all about all the white people or all the black people. This is about Donald Sterling and how he behaves like the south end of a northbound mule. The nba commissioner pretty much gave sterling the equivalent of the Sports Industry death penalty. He acted quickly, sternly, and decisively. He handled questions from the press calmly, firmly, and factually. Will wack job sterling have a case against the nba because the conversations were taped privately and giving to the press from a jilting girlfriend . You know what the irony is going to be .
