White house for more. The president prepared remarks tonight, there is nothing about roy more or doug jones. However, i was cautioned that this is 25 minutes of prepared reports, and the president often goes off script, so there is plenty of room to add live here, and all bets are kind of off of the table. Lets take a look at where he is going to be tonight. Pensacola, florida, out there in the panhandle, 9 miles away from the alabama border. And adjusted down the beach, i should point out, from 51 miles from mobile, alabama, so we can expect that they are going to be a lot of people there from alabama tonight, so even though he will be in the state of florida, virtually everything that he has to say tonight is going to be aimed at voters in alabama to get them out to the polls on tuesday. I am told that at least in the prepared remarks, he is going to go over a number of themes. Well put them up on the screen. There is going to be a year in review, he will talk about a tax reform, which the republican members of Congress Told me last night that they hope to have on his desk in the afternoon of the 19th of december. They will also talk about a strong economy, jobs created last month, unemployment and now down to 4. 1 . He will talk about economic and border security, trade, north korea, and isis, and then get into his 2018 agenda. This is something we havent written a whole lot about. There is a need it to redevelop the infrastructure. He will be talking about a welfare reform, the va reform, and immigration, which the president of course has talked at length about. The president also plans on hitting the democrats and hitting them pretty hard, talking about them as obstructionist, merely trying to get in the way of his agenda. Trying to avoid a shutdown, and again, while he is not expected to talk about roy moore, though that may change, tweeting about it this morning saying that the last thing we need is a liberal democrats in the senate, we have so little margin for victory already. He is bad on crime, guns, and military. Dont forget the president it did come out earlier this week and officially endorsed roy moore. The present also waiting for the flag debates, stretching the need for every american it to salute the flag. There is going to be a lot of material here. A lot of red made for his conservative base, a way to motivate them to get out to the polls and it to vote for roy moore. Jon and you know that he will get a lot of cheers and thats part of the country. Absolutely. Jon at john roberts, thank you. Melissa a Top Justice Department official has been demoted. We have learned that bruce has been stripped of his title, amid an investigation into his alleged contact with that research from that we have heard of responsible for the antitrump dossier. We just heard about this in. Each and every day, something new comes out, which reinforces this belief that you had the fbi working with the Clinton Campaign to go after the other partys nominee. That is not supposed to happen in this great country. It is not supposed to work that way. Melissa joining us now, commentary writer for the washington examiner, the big deal about all of this is that we are just now hearing of this man, bruce ohr. He apparently was a very senior fbi official, who went out and sat down and met with the author of a dossier that former fbi director james comey called salacious, filled with accusations. We have known for some time that they had their hands on the dossier, but what we are learning now is that even the highest level of the Obama Administration, they also had knowledge of this document, and this raises an obvious question. Was anyone on the side of the Obama Administration trying to stop trump from winning the election . If not, why would we have ohr . Someone who literally sat a couple doors down from from say yates. Melissa why would he take this meeting . That is what Everyone Wants to know. This is the one part author of that dossier. They met sometime around thanks giving last year, when the president elected trump was in the process of selecting his cabinet, and they discuss the dossier, the russian investigation, and the distressing developments of trumps victory. So these are tight circles at the department of justice. They come to the sort of things. It is not unusual for some people to know other people, but if you are a Senior Member of the department of justice, and your party is in the middle of a president ial election, one thing that you probably dont want to do is go sit down with a political operative who is peddling shady operative research. That is something that you just dont want to do. Melissa eight could have been after the election because they are talking about thanksgiving, and the real question is when he met with him, did he take the dossier back . In order to listen in on the present, that is whats this meeting makes it look like it, but we dont know that answer yes, do you think that we will find out . Well, we dont know what they talked about. What is interesting that you bring up, now you have congress, representative nunez who has been looking into this for some time, and he is just now finding out about this meeting, so they issued a subpoena on thursday, and i think that the Current Deputy attorney if he doesnt come through, it would not surprise me, in the coming weeks. Melissa so what would that mean . If he used this dossier in order to get warrants, is that in and of itself is it a crime, is it something that would outrage people . You know, what would that mean . Well, i think we are going to have to figure that out. It will be an issue for congress to take up with. I think that will be the end result here, but think about what this means for the department of justices credibility. This is to senior officials who now have been demoted because of what they have done. Last week it, it was the fbi agent on muellers team a. Now, it is a ohr. This is just a bad look for a department. Melissa yes, the fact that he was demoted for this implies that whatever he was doing was wrong. You dont get demoted and stripped of your title and sent it down the ranks if what you dd wasnt against policy. It will be interesting to see what else happens with this. Thanks for coming on. Jon process erupting in the middle east. It demonstrators are slamming President Trump, after he announced plans to move the u. S. Embassy to jerusalem it. Are denouncing the president s move. We are seeing a violent clashes with Security Forces in the some cities. We are live up from a jerusalem of. Yes, for the third day in a row now, they have taken to the streets to demonstrate against President Trumps unilateral decision to recognize jerusalem as israels capital. We saw this in places like bethlehem, and it with a strong doors, lunging rock that is really Security Forces, with Israeli Military firing tear gas, molotov cocktails, it was somewhat more muted than what we saw yesterday, which really seemed to be the peak of the violence yesterday, but there was significant clashes, thousands of palestinians turning out. More than 400 people, we understand, have been injured in the last few days. At least one person was killed. During some protest there as well. The question Going Forward is does this violence continue . Does it sustain itself . There were calls for three days. Today was the third today. It wasnt clear whether or not we are going to see protest gary into next week or even later into this month. That is what we are going to be watching over the next days and weeks. The other question is what happens to the overall Peace Process here . They are angry at this decision by President Trump, but they are also frustrated, feeling that the u. S. Has abandon any semblance of being an honest broker, in the process of trying to get a deal between the israelis and palestinians. There is a lot of questions about whether the authority will meet with the President Trump in the future, or even Vice President pence who is due to arrive in the holy land in the next ten days. What is the process to get these talks going . That is the bigger question. Were going to be watching this in addition to the violence on the streets in the next few days. Conor powell, live from jerusalem. Melissa fires scorching california, struggling to contain them appeared one could they see some relief from the intense ones that are fueling the flames . And of how well chris wray feels stomach fields a barrage of tough questions. It is absolutely unacceptable for fbi employees to lead to their own beliefs contaminate any investigation. Hi. Im the one clocking in when youre clocking out. Sensing and automatically adjusting to your every move. Does your bed do that . Im the new sleep number 360 smart bed. Lets meet at a sleep number store. What mahearthealthyle salad the california walnuts. Ver . The best simple veggie dish ever . California walnuts. The best simple dinner ever . Great tasting, hearthealthy california walnuts. So simple, so good. Get the recipes at walnuts. Org. Jon it confrontational and at times outright aggressive hearing on capitol hill, and it today, still more questions. Christopher ran grilled by lawmakers. Calling the agencys integrity into question it. Wray defends his agency. There is no finer institution than the fbi. And no finer people than the men and women who work there and are its very beating heart. Almost 37,000 men and women have a fiercer commitment to upholding the rule of law. Men and women who face the darkest of that life has to offer, with unyielding integrity and honesty and, and a dedication. Jon i am joined now by one of the members of that panel. Congressman louis of texas. It tell us, you raise a lot of eyebrows when you named five fbi agents and asked director wray about any political bias that they might show. What did you think about his answer . Well, he gave his answer, and now we will do our homework, and we will see if he is right or not. But someone said that is outrageous to have a political test. But you, john, just set it correctly. It is whether you led to bias show, and that affects your job performance. Because before i became a felony judge, a judge near his deathbed was telling me being a judge is going to be probably the loneliest of job you ever have. People say you cant have any biases. While, everyone has biases. But you cannot select them affect your job appeared recognize them, put them aside, and to do your job objectively. And that is what we are looking for. And so the political test is whether or not those biases that we all have will affect you as the one who has got to be the fair arbiter, the fair investigator, the one who is not going to skew the investigation, and by the way, when President Trump allegedly asked for comeys loyalty, his gut and things were exactly right, and people who hate President Trump immediately assumed that he was asking to violate the law. No, what he is asking for is dont violate the law to try to hurt me, like it comey apparently did. He leaked information, and about a government meeting. That, under his fbi agreement, is fbi material that he had no right to he violated the law. So it it just means violated the law. To just try to screw me over like comey it did. And he obviously was not loyal to the president. He was not loyal to the law and the constitution. That is where the political test and political bias comes in. Is it affecting your worker . And if wray had seen it, we needed to know about it. It is affecting this investigation. Jon what is it about those five agents and their action that give you pause . Well, supposedly, as a lawyer, you are told and never asked a a question to which yoo not know the answer, but there is an exception in which he really wanted to know what someone knows, and so that is why i asked the question. Jon the chairman of virginia decided that it is unfair if any fbi agents are using their personal opinions you can the investigation. Do you think that is going on at the fbi . Yes, absolutely. And the director is right. Director wray, he says i would say thousands of agents that are loyal, they are doing their job. They are trying to do the best they can. I see that too, but what we have seen at the top has it been abysmally political, and they have skewed investigations that created under mueller, one they created a case that is not just reasonable doubt. He was not guilty. He was totally innocent, and the fbi totally fabricated a lie, a fraudulent case. That is one politics has got to be discerned, so that we dont have that abuse. And a back when i was a chief justice, i was at a conference and got into a discussion with aci attorney. And she wanted to yell, and she said a look at, the banks of your banking records, why shouldnt we be governments have all of your records too . And i said because the banks cant come knock down your front door in the middle of the night, drag you out of bed, put ransack your house. Now, it appears to have more of a political angle, trying to get the results that you want, instead of actually pursuing the facts. That is where the political bias comes into play. You can flush them affect your gut when you are fbi. And another thing, mueller got rid of thousands of years of experience, so the ones coming along who were yesmen too mueller did not have as much good experience i know that seems like the right thing to do, but let me explain. You create real problems. Mueller got rid of it. Soon obviously, there is a lot he had to learned. Thanks. Keep watching. Melissa a colorado teenager conscious and alert after falling hundreds of seeds into the bottom of a mine shaft. How police managed to get him out safely. And it cannot President Trump the renewed support of a senator, roy moore, get him across the finish line in alabama . On september 12, you will see an election thats the world wont forget. I had frequent heartburn, but my doctor recommended. Prilosec otc 7 years ago, 5 years ago, last week. Just 1 pill each morning, 24 hours and zero heartburn. Its been the number 1 doctor recommended brand for 10. Straight years, and its still recommended today. Use as directed. Jon at the november jobs report released just hours ago. We are getting some good news. The bureau of labor statistics says that the Unemployment Rate remains unchanged at 4. 1 , the lowest it has been in 17 years. Melissa gets all excited by these numbers. Melissa i do. Jon also, 22,000 nonfarm jobs. That is big. The upward trend is it seemed. Manufacturing, as well as health care. Melissa Alabama Senate candidate roy moore will get a special visit from President Trump. He has been accused by several women of Sexual Misconduct, he is staying focused on the issues and forging ahead with his campaign. You think that you pull the russian investigation, because we are not going anywhere. We have got to get the issues that this nation needs a result like health care. We need to repeal obamacare. We needed to repeal obamacare immediately. We needed to stop the illegal aliens from coming across our borders. Adeterminer melissa joining me now is adrian, former director of the strategic strategies for hillary clinton. I am sure that you have heard all of these. The art of war. President trump supporting roy moore, because he is really supporting himself, think that these allegations are not founded. So in many ways, democrats are saying that he is talking about himself. On the other side, republican thing that democrats through al franken under the bus to pave the trail to eventually call for the president to step down, and roy moore is sort of in the middle of all of this. Is everyone seeing conspiracy theories everywhere . Well, they are everywhere, so that is true, however, what the president is at doing is trying to keep his promises to the american people, and that requires him to have a full slate of senators to pass his agenda, so while roy moore has issues that have been raised here, the democrats are throwing mud here, after years of their behavior. Mr. Clinton and others who have had innumerable scandals, and all of a sudden, today, one of the accusers of roy moore came out and admitted that she actually has forged parts of the yearbook signature, so there is all kinds of drama, but ultimately, this is up to the alabama voters. They have had a republican senator representing them. To be due and you know, President Trump perhaps his focus on delivering his agenda to the people who voted for him and trying to improve the economy, get the tax package there, and to that end, they need another vote. That is what it is about for him if you do you think that is true . Speak out it seems to be true because that is what a lot of republicans are saying, but this is disgusting. Youve got to the sexual harasser in chief, the president of the United States, who is hosting a rally. Maybe roy moore will not be there, but it is 20 miles away from alabama, so clearly something that motivates roy moore supporters, who is a child predator. So let me ask you, because the other response to that is that the other party is offering a candidate who is for full term abortion, and they see that is murder. How do you respond to that . I think it is silly, and they are trying to deflect the fact that they are trying to grapple with it the very possibility that somebody who used to go to malls and a troll for 14 and 15yearold girls who marry dominic very well may be the next senator from alabama. The republicans will have to on the spirit of certain members of congress have endorsed him. The party, by the way, has endorsed roy moore, as has the president. Melissa how do you respond to that . Conflating 20 or 30yearold allegations as the head of irresponsibility, the reality is that doug jones is campaigning on lateterm abortion and extremist democrats it doesnt fit alabama. It is very convenient that on tuesday, al franken was aok with the democratic party, but on wednesday, they decided that he wasnt. This this is very interesting, but what matters is what is best for the alabama voters. They are going to decide that the president wants to take it keep his promises. Melissa she brought up al franken there. There are some that are saying that they were that he delivered that message and saying that he is going to step down in a few weeks, he did not really say sorry or that he was making a full apology for what happened, but they think maybe he wont step down after all. Do you think there is any chance that wont happen . Look at, i think he made it pretty clear yesterday that he intends to step down. He intends it to you stepped on at the end of the year, and i think there is a textbook way to handle it somebody has allegedly sexually harass women in the senate, or even before he was in the senate, it is the way that e situation. He came out, issued a statement melissa he did not apologize to the victims. He says thats you know, they painted a picture of me that is not accurate. And there was a lot of denial in that socalled apology. Well, again, ill franken could have stayed in the senates and allowed the Ethics Committee to fully investigate these allegations. He decided it was a distraction. He decided to step down, and i think he did the valiant think, and i think thats more republicans could take a cue from the way that he handled his situation yesterday, especially when it comes to roy moore, who may or may not win on it tuesda tuesday. If he doesnt win it, republicans will have to figure out how to handle this moving forward. Melissa thank you to both of you. We dont have more time with. You will both be back. Jon and we will have more on the Media Coverage of al franken and his resignation, admit amounting accusations of Sexual Misconduct. They are coming under fire. Our media panel weighs in. Plus, now promising more, as california battles its first wildfire season in the decades. I did not expect anyone to have eight home appear, the way that the fire was going. It was unbelievable. People were already being evacuated out of the canyon, and then i heard the sheriff on the loudspeaker saying this is not a drill. Mandatory evacuation. And we could see the flames. It was coming over the hill. We did not know if the house was going to be standing or not. Melissa fox news alert it for you. The latest numbers from california are staggering. They say that the wildfires have tried more than 150,000 acres and los angeles and san diego counties. President trump a tweeting federal assistance is on the wa way. We are live in ventura county. Melissa, the good news is we have seen a real lull in the winter today. And then they are going and attacking this hillside, while the winds are low. That is much different than what we saw yesterday afternoon when we were on the front lawn. Take a look at what we saw. Breaking down this hillside, they are being pushed by the huge wins it. They are on the west side of these railroad tracks. It is a big problem right now. This is the Pacific Coast highway, and you can see them coming out right now. They are going to try to put this out. The real problem is we have seen this up and down pch here. This is a very dangerous game of whackamole, and we have seen this for the past couple of days. They are exhausted, but they are doing everything they can to protect the community. We had it to new fires break out yesterday, including one in san diego county, where we have dramatic video from a horse training center, where you can see the horses being set free. More than a dozen horses. They are being killed. Also, we just found out that these structures were destroyed. This is all dependent on the winds. They are trying to take advantage of this right now, trying to take advantage of this a while they can. Back to you. Melissa wow. Thank you. Jon minnesota senator al franken, announcing his resignation from the senate yesterday at, after facing mounting accusations of Sexual Misconduct and a growing cause, even from his fellow democrats, to step down. At times, he struck a defined tone in his remarks. Some of the allegations against me are simply not true. I am leaving, a man who has it bragged on it tape about his history of Sexual Assault sits in the oval office. And a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls campaigns for the senate with the full support of his party. If you if so, how did the media handle all of this . Joining me for more on this, president of the District Media group, and a fellow at the heritage foundation. Aaron is a senior Political Correspondent fort bussell. Com. Thank you both of you for being here. Come xo break it down for us, it was not exactly filled with remorse, i guess. No, i would say it was a case study of how not to apologize. If someone wants to teach their child how to apologize, let them watch this a speech and tell them to do the exact opposite. In that clip that you displayed, he didnt even admit any fault, and then he moved on to pointing out President Trump, roy moore, people knew what he was alluding to. And he didnt even say im sorry. Think about the women who have spoken out, especially when there is photographic evidence, and to not have an apology, it is almost laughable that this was even considered any kind of apology, and i think it goes back to whether or not he is going to resign. And he said in a few weeks, so i think he still may be waiting it out. Jon on abc world news, aaron, much of the time, during this report on the resignation, most of it was actually devoted it to his charges against the president and roy moore. Is that good journalism, or are they simply following the senators lead . The senators speech is viewed as an announcement of his resignation, into the media i think did a good job of not calling it out as an apology speech because he offered no apology. That in itself is a story. Jon he apologized to leanne, whose it charges first got this ball rolling against him. That is right. He did issue her an apology. He also said i dont remember the situation. He did not offer anything on it some of these other allegations and certainly was not going to do so on the senate floor yesterday, but the fact that he did not offer an apology is being criticized by people in the media and certainly people on both sides. Jon while, it didnt seem strange, beverly, he is being driven out of office, essentially from this behavior, but he does not apologize for it. Yes, and this is also because of mounting pressure that his democratic colleagues have put on him up. He says that he is not going to run for reelection. He is resigning as well, so this is coming from colleagues pushing him, and i also think that the democrats are doing this in preparation for the special election next week to say hey, we told our guys to go, are republicans going to do the same . So i think that there is some political expediency that so they are trying to push for on this. Jon there is a Conspiracy Theory out there, erin, thats as democrats know that they are not going to lose these seeds being vacated by john 312 because it democrats will appoint whoever takes those seats, so by making them the sacrificial lambs of this congress, they can then points the finger back at repubs went republican misdeeds come to light. What you think . They are trying to stake out a position and say as a party, we find this behavior unacceptable, but you have to focus on the words this behavior. So he drew a set of standards, and that is going to be key in the coming times. Basically, there is no standard now that is being equally applied. You see some members giving up their seats. You see others hanging in, and some stomach so much of this depends on how lawmakers react. It does he embrace the victim, say everyone has a right to be heard, or does he say i dont know these people, there is nothing there. Because the toughest stance has to do with voters. Jon erin and beverly, thank you. Thank you. Adeterminer melissa violent process continues after President Trump recognizes jerusalem as the capital of israel. More on the impact of his decision. A bunch of the Trump Administration says that all of this changes nothing about what the u. S. Wants to see a peace deal and that the middle east. It joining me now, counselor at the foundation for the defense of a democracy, and a former National Security advisor to Vice President dick cheney. Thank you for joining us. Is this reaction so far what you expected . I dont want to jinx anything, but so far, it looks like the Trump Administrations calculations are proving pretty accurate. There have been some a violent protest in the west bank, but for the moment, it all looks quite containable. If you remember, last summer, israel put some metal detectors up on the temple mount, and the size of those protests and the violence that occurred was much greater at that point in time. As for the rest of the arab world, i have got to say that the worst Case Scenarios of widespread violence and outrage just havent materialized yet. Knock on wood. Melissa yes, it hasnt happened yet. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson making a comment about how this changes nothing. Listen. His decision and his directive to the state department it to begin the process of moving the embassy, it it did not indicate any of final status jerusalem appeared in fact, he was in fact very clear that the final status of jerusalem was a matter that would be laughter the borders would be left up to parties to negotiate and it decided. Melissa do you buy that . I think it is absolutely true. He made a very fine distinction between recognizing the reality to enter any peace deal that one can imagine. Of jerusalem is going to be the capital of israel, the same time saying none of this forecloses t at the end of the day, if there is a negotiation on a two state solution, it is entirely possible that there will be a palestinian capital and east of jerusalem, and it is absolutely essential that the United States be out on the airways every day, particularly in arabic language, making that distinction absolutely clear to the arab world. Because we know that al qaeda and iran, and i says, and all of our enemies are going to be in making that distinction, and saying that we have left jerusalem completely in control of israel, and see palestinian claims are completely foreclosed, which is a false. Melissa that is an interesting idea, to make sure that you are out there on air radio saying that sort of thing. Do you think that they are doing that . Is there any indication . I think there is some, but we have to have everybody. The president has to continue to drive this, the secretary, the National Security advisor, the director of the cia. They have all got to be out there is much as possible, making it very clear not only what the president did, but also which he did not do in terms of a foreclosing the palestinian claim to some part of jerusale. Melissa so you know, lets get organized before then, it will be interesting to watch. Only time will tell. Thank you, sir. Thank you very much.
