Shooting against intransitive republicans on the sideline saying that i am not going to vote for your Health Care Bill, they are twisting some arms. Remember that the president said in harrisburg, pennsylvania, on saturday night, if i do not get that Health Care Bill, i am going to be so angry. Calling out a couple of members of congress who might be targets of reelection in 2018. The white house is optimistic that the president will get a vote on health care this week. Representatives tell me that the plan at the moment is to have a vote on wednesday should they have the votes, i am told that they are within a handful, dont know if the handful means five, three, or ten. But gary cronin, they have the votes already, but i am told that this is just a little bit overly optimistic. The president said that the chances are good that he will have a Health Care Bill by the end of the week. This has evolved over a period of three or four coweeks. We have a good bill. They couldve voted on friday. I said, just relax. Dont worry about the 100 day thing. I take it easy. Take your time. Get the good vote, make it perfect most importantly, we are going to drive down premiums. We are going to drive down deductibles. I am told that when they knew they had the 216 votes, they will bring it to the house. Congress also expected to pass the trillion dollar spending bill. The president had to compromise to get the deal with democrats. He had to give up no funding for the border wall, no cuts to sanctuary cities, and no cuts to planned parenthood. Three big gift ups for the presence, but he did get some of what he was asking for, 1. 5 billion per border security. And 1. 5 billion for defense spending. He wanted to cut funding for the National Institutes of health. Instead he had to add to billion dollars. Protecting 99 of the epa budget, the fiscal year in 2018 ones to cut dramatically. The money for the wall being put back into the fiscal year of 2018. That will happen probably august or september. Jenna we will ask the white house about this as well. Thank you very much. Jon for more on the bipartisan deal, we will bring in bret baier. A weird thing happened in washington, first of all you got bipartisan agreement. You got it on a sunday night. At least that was when it was announced, and you got it done a week ahead of time. What is going on . It is in principle. They have not taken the boat yet. But all sides are saying that they have lined up the support for it. That said, there are some conservative speaking out like jim jordan and others who say, this is not a deal that we agreed to. We do not like this. The fact that there is funding for planned parenthood. You just had conservative groups like the susan b. Anthony, the Prolife Group say the first 100 days were great. Now they are saying that we wanted that cut, because they believe that planned parenthood uses a lot of those funds for abortions. You have done no border wall as was mentioned. 1. 5 billion for security along the border, but not money for the border wall as promised. And then the cuts that a lot of conservatives wanted to see. You are right. It is a bipartisan deal. There will be a vote, and it will keep the funding of the government until september. But not everyone is happy about it. Jon it does seem like the president gave up a lot. No funding for the border wall, but 1. 5 billion for security, and 15 billion per depends, not as much as he hoped for. They are going to argue that they are going to try to adjust things and to line up on their budget lines for the next budget into 2018. But what happens in washington is you start down a road, and unless you do it at the beginning if you are giving up as you go along, washington has a bureaucracy that fulfills itself. Thats why you get all of the criticism about the on the business spending bills that continue funding for things that a lot of conservatives and frankly others believe should be cut or reappropriated in a different way. Jon so lets talk about the Affordable Care act, both the president and Vice President on tv over the weekend believing that they have the votes to undo it and put forward a republican proposal. Does it look like that is going to happen . It is interesting to hear the white house talk about it optimistically. We have been down this road before. What you really want to hear is the leadership and when they feel confident that they have the votes to move forward. I know that there is angst when the white house announces that there will be a vote on wednesday or thursday. They have not finished counting heads on capitol hill. I think it is a delicate game between the white house and capitol hill. There is increased confidence that some people have come along, but it is going to be a tight vote either way. Jon it has been described as sort of a measure whether or not the white house can actually twist arms in congress or work with a pretty closely divided congress. Remember that once you get through the house, lets say that that all comes together and the pressure works, they managed to sway some people who maybe were not going to vote for it. Then you still have to get through the senate. That is a whole different ball of wax. It is a whole different negotiation that has to happen there, and then you have to bring the two together and have one bill that passes both chambers. We are kind of a long way away from the final bill if people are thinking that everything is going to be wrapped up at the end of the week. Jon the author of the art of the deal has his work cut out for them. Sandwiched around bret baiers special report. Two brandnew shows, fox news specialist , and then right after the special report, the story with Martha Maccallum at 7 00 p. M. This evening. Jennifer griffin joins us live from the pentagon with the most on this and why it matters. Well, clashes and fire between americans and the Turkish Military has increased in days. Over the weekend the u. S. It is deeply saddening for us that there were u. S. Flags on a county boy that carried organization, the ypg. Has been weighing whether to provide heavy arms to the kurds, the most effective fighting course against isis and syria. Kurds in syria, between the likely to come to a head when president visits the white house for the first meeting with President Trump on may 16th. Jenna thank you. Jon some park officials are considering changing their policies after a disturbing complaint that two people were threatened at a california camping ground. And happening now has the first reaction to a new budget deal. Funding the government through september, President Trump outlining his guidelines for texting and health care. I accept im not the hiker i was. I even accept i have a higher risk of stroke due to afib, a type of irregular heartbeat not caused by a heart valve problem. But no matter what path i take, i go for my best. So if theres Something Better than warfarin, ill go for that too. Eliquis. Eliquis reduced the risk of stroke better than warfarin, plus had less major bleeding than warfarin. Eliquis had both. Dont stop taking eliquis unless your doctor tells you to, as stopping increases your risk of having a stroke. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for any bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. Im still going for my best. And for eliquis. Ask your doctor about eliquis. Jon right now new information on some crime stories that we are watching. There were ever a campground investigating a disturbing complaint. A woman says that the group threatened her and her boyfriend on easter weekend saying that they would rape her if they did not to leave by sunrise. An escape sex offender, at a hospital for routine treatment when he removed his ankle monitor and left the facility. He recently has committed a prison sentence, but was still being supervised. And to the family about missing South Carolina teenager, offering a 10,000 reward for information on her. The fbi is investigating. Jenna the president setting the stage for the next phase of his first term. As we hear congress is finalizing a spending bill that funds them through september, Sarah Huckabee sanders, the Principal White House press secretary understanding not only are we competing with other journalists, but a lawn mower in the background. So we are throwing a lot at you. Great to have you on the program. Never a dull moment at the white house, hopefully i will hear you throughout the interview. Jenna we hope so as well, it is great to have you. What is the reaction from the white house to the spending bill . Where the bill stands, it looks very good for the white house and republicans. This has been a long process, but one that we feel has moved in the right direction. Certainly some of the president s Top Priorities are front and center in this bill, including an increasing military spending so that we can rebuild the military the way that it should be. We have heavy emphasis on border security. 1. 5 billion. Emphasis towards border security. Two big priorities and two wins in the budget. Jenna talk about the border, but talk about not having the funding specifically for the border wall. I know that you know that. Also all these questions about funding in general, where the money is going. The wall street journal reporting that funding for planned parenthood is continuing. Funding for the epa is continuing at its current level, and an increase in funding for the National Institute of health. That is something that the president was hoping to cut back, so what is a message to the supporters who may be curious as to why the spending levels are maintaining at the current level . Look, again, we are trying to rein in as much spending as possible, but one of the biggest priorities in the process was about military. That was about military spending and rebuilding the military. That is a huge success and a big pillar of the bill. You also have things like the d. C. Voucher program that are included in this bill. Another big priority. The cfr being removed from the bill. That was another big priority for the administration. A lot of big victories here. We are focusing on the things that we needed most to happen. That has taken place. Both republicans and the white house are very happy with the way that things are moving at this point. Jenna how does the president feel about the final deal coming together . The president has been very engaged in the process. He is very pleased with where we are right now. Jenna we will talk a little bit about health care. Lots of questions on both sides. Here is what the American Medical Association is saying about the bill as we know it, the amendments to health care as we know it. The association wrote in a letter to house leadership that this plan would likely lead to patients losing their coverage and effectively making coverage completely unaffordable to people with preexisting conditions. The president said over the weekend that preexisting conditions will be in no matter what it is finally. By the viewers have been through a lot in regards to health care over the last several years and several months, so why should they trust that the new bill or new amendments will actually make Health Care Better . This has been a big priority for the president , but republicans of the house. Obamacare is unsustainable, collapsing under itself. We need to take a drastic action to repeal and replace it. One thing that is being discussed and is currently in the bill, i know the controversy that you said with preexisting conditions, that is in the bill. There is some flexibility to the state. That was important. Obamacare was a one size fits all between what we knew would not work. What may work in california, my network in south dakota. So this Health Care Bill offers some choices. Could give lower costs and choices for consumers. Jenna if you do have preconsisting preexisting conditions. And about several pools by their state would face huge premiums, then there is a question about whether or not the government would have to back up some of these highrisk pools. So walk us through what you know about that. Would it be that if you have preexisting conditions, you have to pay more . Is the government going to be on the bill for that . I think the priority is making sure that people that have the preexisting conditions are taken care of, at the same time we offer state flexibility. A big part of the process is making sure that we do not make the same mistakes with obamacare with the new bill that would repeal and replace it. That is giving flexibility. Not coming in with the onesizefitsall. And thats what they are trying to accomplish through the Health Care Bill to give the flexibility. Something that makes sense. That goes back to hoping that we can lower costs and give more choices to the consumer. Jenna we expect the vote this week, but anything can happen. On friday a reading about the economy came out, the lowest reading that we have had of Economic Growth in the last three years. Of the first three months of this year. I want viewers to know two things. The number will be revised, and the number to kick off the year is smaller than numbers that follow. But not supporting job growth, and the president has mentioned many things. Invacare infrastructure, but when the president is looking at his next 100 days, where is his priority as far as job growth and bringing jobs to the American People . Where is he going to put his energy . You have seen some of that in the first 100 days. An emphasis on getting rid of so many of the Previous Administration pushing down. Americas growth, we got rid of a lot of that. You are going to see a lot of job creation from that. But also through the tax reform package. Taking away some of the burden on that front. You are going to see a lot more job growth. At least over the coming months due to a lot of the things getting rid of the regulation reform. Those are going to be two of the biggest focus is continuing to the next 100 days. And frankly over the next 18 years. We have talked to countless ceos that have infinitely more confidence in the market and in this president to go out and take risk and create jobs. They know that they have a president who understands how job creation works. Jenna the next couple of months will tell us more about that when we get those numbers. We will see how the plan actually plays out. Looking forward to talking to you on that. A final question for you, this is a big one, our show really has interest in afghanistan and beyond. We have news of two young men killed in afghanistan. They were six and seven years old when the Afghanistan War began. There was a soldier that was killed in iraq over the weekend, probably around the age of 11 when we started fighting there. We have seen the moab dropped in afghanistan. Our kids are still dying. What is the plan for the president to get different results in the past two administrations . First and foremost we offer are the deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of these fallen heroes. We are able to move and do things freely because we have heroes like that out there that are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Not just them, but their family. And we offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and the soldiers that fought alongside them. We are very grateful for their service. We are forever indebted to their service. With the president , a focus on rebuilding the military. Thats why it was such a big priority. We put such a strain on the members of the priority over the last decade. We cannot continue to do that. We have some soldiers that ive done seven, eight, nine tours of dority. And that is too much for any one person to take on. So rebuilding the military and putting a focus on that, then also taking care of the veterans when they come home. This is a president that is fully committed. He has taken action last week. That was at the va, making sure that people are making they are the first people we take care of. Jenna we cover that story as well. The question is a big one, how that money is being used and to what the goal is also a very big question, we look forward to talking about that. Its great to have you on the program. Thank you so much for having me. Jenna we will be right back esto is a medicine that helps make more tomorrows possible. Tomorrow, tomorrow. One person was killed, seven injured in the shooting part of the gunman was shot and killed by police when he was reloading his weapon. Jonathan hunt is live in san diego with more. It started as a scene of celebration, a Birthday Party around the pool. It ended in a scene of horror. Blood on the ground, all around that swimming pool. One woman shot dead, half a dozen others injured. As the gunman apparently without warning open fire. [gunshots] for those who witnessed the mayhem, terrifying with the shooter holding a beer in one hand, staying seated, his gun and the other hand as he kept firing. It was really a gruesome scene, there was blood everywhere. Blood on the corners. You see footprints on the ground, there were blood he footprints showing that they were running away from the scene. And you just see a man sitting down nonchalant, just really calm. The only common person there. He had it done on his lap. A Police Helicopter was over at the scene within minutes, and reporting that the gunman reloading just as other officers arrived on the ground. The suspect, we engage the suspect. He saw that the suspect was still armed. The suspect pointed a gun at the officers. Icers fired on the suspect. The gunman was shot dead by the police. His motive remains unclear. He has been identified by cops as 49yearold peter cella spread he was a resident of this apartment complex where the shooting took place behind me. He was white, his victims were all black, and one hispanic. As you can see behind me, the Police Command control vehicle is still there. This is still very much an active investigation as the police tried to figure out exactly why this tragedy happened. Jon what a terrible end to a Birthday Party. Thank you. Jenna rescue crews are still sifting through rubble searching for survivors after a powerful tornado went through the south part of that story ahead. Plus President Trump ripping at the media again, marking his 100th day in office, i will detailed out for you just ahead. Jon right now ill look at what is still to come this hour of happening now. Violence win crime in chicago, police with their gun battle violence. And a new measure to increase pressure on north korea part of the house is expected to vote on new penalties for the rogue regime, targeting shipping and financial sectors. But a very member of the british family about to have a birthday to mark the occasion, Princess Charlottes parents releasing this new photo ahead of her second birthday tomorrow. Happy birthday. Jenna parts of the south still reeling from powerful storms that tore through several states this weekend taking the lives of at least 14 people. Joining us now from the hardhit area east of dallas in texas. One of the tornado stayed on the ground for more than 50 miles, destroying homes like this. If stripping trees bear, as we have gone along, seen a car after car like this. At a nearby car dealership, trucks were tossed miles down the interstate. All here and canteen nearby. Nearly 50 people sent to nearby hospitals. Yesterday the governor of texas got an aerial view of the damage. And many people in the area are seeing devastation for the first time today. This includes amy who has been Walking Around off a ring food to families who have lost everything. You know, it is ashes right now, but it looks like a war zone. So what we are going to see is the beauty in those ashes. The beauty that she is talking about there, the people showing up from across the area to help so many of the families after the floods and tornadoes. Jenna unfortunately, looks like we lost him. We will keep an eye on the weather. That storm is headed east across the United States. We will keep you posted on that with the community that was hit so hard. More on that as we get it. In the meantime, we will move on here. Lets rate the medias 100 days. Should we do that . Because as you know, they are a disgrace. Just as an example of media take, the totally failing New York Times. Pretty soon they will only be on the internet. The paper is getting smaller and smaller. You have not noticed . Starting to look like a comic book. If the medias job is to be honest and tell the truth, then i think that we would all agree, the media deserves a very, very, big fat failing grade. Very just honest people. Not all of them. We call it the fake news. Jon that was President Trump slamming the Mainstream Media at a rally he held to mark his 100th day in office. It would fall as the white house Correspondents Dinner as the reporter jeff mason, the correspondent of the association had this to say. It is our job to report on facts and to hold leaders accountable. That is who we are. We are not fake news. [cheers and applause] we are not failing news organizations. As we are not to the enemy of the American People. Jon with more, judith miller, reporter and a fox news contributor. Also the deputy online editor for the weekly standard. So it was an interesting juxtaposition. That is typically an event that the president attends, obviously President Trump decided to boycott this time. He announced that month its really meant months ago. Auntie went to harrisburg, pennsylvania, for the rally instead. So who won the night, judy . I think it is not about a night anymore than it is about 100 days. But i will note that this attack on the media, this is getting to be such old news. I mean, add to my account, donald trump has attacked the media on twitter 45 times since he has been in office. That is 45 times that he has called us disgraceful, dishonest, feeling, et cetera, et cetera. I have to point out that donald trump has been great for left defender media. He has been great for New York Times and nbc. They have had record subscriptions. When i interviewed him a couple of weeks ago at maralago, he could not have been nicer. You do not detect the hatred of the media. I think that donald trump knows that he would not be where he is today without the media. He also knows that he needs us. But he always falls back on an attack when things are not going well for him. It is getting to be kind of a standard shtick as we say in new york that he understands and we understand that everybody moves on. Jon but the folks in harrisburg seem to have loved what he had to say. Yes, playing to your base. A clever political theater. A similar to the campaign. A lot of people noted how the tone was similar. It was the type of thing with the Correspondents Dinner, if you like it already, you are going to like it more. If you dont, it will irk you. Back in d. C. , the Correspondents Dinner is a thing were 300 Million People are watching, 100,000 people are tweeting about it. It makes it seem like 300 Million People are watching. That is not how it works. We have the perception that they have an outside influence than they really do. So if you are playing to your base, they have their own constituency. You see the comedy on the latenight shows. If you are going to go for it, you will, and if you dont, you are not going to like it more than you do yesterday. Jon do you agree with that the Correspondents Dinner is lost upon most of america . I think that it is. Yes, i mean, i think we take ourselves very, very seriously. That is one of the things that donald trump attacks as four. He is right about that. Because actually we do have an important role. And that is the president ial power. And on any power that is out of control. So of course donald trump would want to delegitimize us. But i do not think that it will work over the long run. It will not deflect from what he has or has not accomplished. Jon that touches on something i was going to ask you about, chris. This is a week where he backed away from demanding funds for his border wall in the new budget deal that has been reached. He also allowed funding for planned parenthood. He said he was not going to do that. So there are some things that he had essentially promised on the campaign trail that are not coming true. And i just wonder if going to harrisburg and complaining about the media helps obscure some of that. Sure, absolute deflection. The two things that you mention, we have to lump in backing away from that. We saw that trump was going to announce that he was withdrawing at that very speech. They backed off of it. Going back on declaring china the manipulator because of the newfound diplomatic love. There are a lot of things that the white house is getting use to in the first 100 day that we have talked about acknowledging them over the last few days. Trump did make a lot of campaign promises. Every president is ambitious. Donald trump is no different. And some of these things perceived as failures, look, it is probably good for him to talk about his base and the things that he had accomplished. Continue to talk about the people that dont like him, because thats what got him elected in the first place. Jon he kind of poohpoohed the first 100 days, but he worked very furiously to get things on the board. He wanted to get them accomplished in the first 100 days. Yes, exactly. And if he attacks us and Chuck Schumer as he does repeatedly, the Senate Minority leader, its kind of deflects attention from the amount of flipflopping that he has done that he has been criticized for. Not by liberal media, because many of them really liked these changes, but by conservative media who says that you are flipflopping on things. Not only are you not building the wall, but you are not even getting funding for the wall, so of course donald trump wants to change the subject. I would want to change the subject too. Jon we are going to have to leave it there. I was going to Say Something about a tweet from the president , but we will look for that down the road. Anyway, thank you for being here. Thank you. Speak to a woman facing a third trial for the murder of her husband, jury selection beginning in tennessee at her trial. Prosecutor saying that she killed her husband and staged it to look like a suicide. Both claiming about the back story on that. And President Trump speaking out to a leader in the growing threat from north korea. More on that at head. My wife got me to be a devoted vegetarian. Except for every ladies night. Only glad has forceflex to prevent rips, leaks, and punctures. So whatever you throw in the bag. Stays in the bag. Be happy, its glad. Jon jury selection in an extraordinary murder trial begins in tennessee today. Facing charges for the third time of killing her husband in 2003. And making it look like a suicide. The first trial ended in a hung jury, her conviction in a second trial was thrown out because the judge was using drugs during that trial. Her first husband also died under suspicious circumstances in 1992. That will not be allowed in as evidence in this trial. Jenna President Trump inviting the press to the philippines in the white house. And widely criticized for authoritarian practice is in his country. The next guests says that this move reflects the conundrum that we face in the region. Adjoining a sound, the former director of middle Eastern Affairs at the National Security council. As you point out, the president of the philippines was not the only president that President Trump spoke to this weekend. Speak about what you observed and what you think is important to point out to the viewers. The administration is apparently doing outreach to not just the philippines, but also Southeast Asian countries as well as other Asian Countries more broadly. Regarding the north korea threa threat. There are a lot of issues to explore here. I would not exaggerate the fact that President Trump invited the philippine president to the white house, because it does seem that he invited the other theaters to the white house, seems to invite everyone to the white house. Jenna we have not gotten our invitation yet, we are waiting for that, michael. But he is meeting with the Prime Minister of singapore and thailand coming and the president of the philippines. This is part of his style. His team mention that. What is the common drums that feel we face in the region that this underscores as the president extends the invitation to who has been described as a controversial leader of the philippines . He is definitely controversial. A lot of concerns about his human rights record that he has developed as he has prosecuted the war on drugs in the philippines. He is also a very controversial guy in terms of the statements that he has made. Some very bad remarks about president obama, compared his drug raid to the holocaust for example, but the United States means the allies in asia cooperate with the respect to north korea and china. It is the classic attempt to balance the Strategic Issues of importance to the United States against some of these issues like human rights, so on and so forth in the unsavory aspect of the allies. Jenna im curious about the weight of the president and what they put on the allies. Whether it is china, the philippines in this issue. And others, looking at the region overall. If we look at the past and getting the results that we wanted with north korea . How do you find the president navigating the partnership and the emphasis that he puts on the partnership in trying to get a different result this time around . I think the Southeast Asian countries are little bit more unimportant, not that they are unimportant, but they do have a role to play and sanctions. But i think that china is a target audience in terms of ramping up economic pressure on north korea. I think where we really need cooperation from the philippines, response to chinas behavior. Where they are building that islands and militarizing them. And there we have seen the philippines throughout our many decades of history try to maneuver from washington and beijing. So sort of getting them closer to our side is a little bit of a difficult task. I think that the Trump Administration seems to be trying to emphasize that sort of strategic aspect, not the human rights aspect. Jenna interesting to bring that upcoming one has to wonder if that is the more important story. One has to has to prioritize the stories of north korea. Whether it is overshadowed by what is happening in north korea, what President Trump will have to compliance with china further into the administration. What is the ultimate objective as you see it when it comes to north korea with any of our partners . Right now i think it is hard to say. We see it as strategy forming. The administration is trying to ramp up economic pressure. Trying to enhance the military credibility to get partners like china to extend their economic pressure on north korea. And the Trump Administration has dangled the possibility of talks. But talks to what end . Are we looking for a diplomatic agreement, because in that case i do not think north korea will give up those weapons. Or are we looking at undermining the regime in north korea, changing the regime in north korea . Those will take you on different paths. Jenna one wonders when we will get some clarity on the objective. Thank you so much, always good to have you on the program. Jon hard to believe, but violence on chicago is on track for another recordbreaking year. New technology being used in some of the highest crime areas, and how that technology might make a difference. We are alive with an update. Plus a birthday just a day away from of the member of the royal family. A new pick of the birthday girl. We will tell you who the famous photographer is next when did you see the sign . Get started at fastsigns. Com. Jon outnumbered coming up at the top of the hour on this monday. What do you have . The vote to replace and repeal obamacare could happen within days. President trump is confirming that the g. O. P. Bill will cover preexisting conditions. If thats missing democrats as obstructionist. As he right about that . Do democrats have a mug heavy military problem, that a a cost of the rake at the white house . They say no way, is she right . All of that and more with oneluckyguy. Bill kilmeade from fox and friends. Jon i hope he is ready. Jenna with the Violent Crime rate just as deadly as last year, with nearly 1000 people shot and killed this year. Police were covering more guns off of the street of chicago than in new york and l. A. Combined. Now some new Ballistic Technology is actually helping the police. Live in chicago with more on this. The technology is called and what they find as encasing from a crime scene, comparing to millions of others on the database. Helping them identify the criminals who are pulling the trigger and terrorizing neighborhoods like those here in chicago. Blood still stains the sidewalk where 21yearold Tanisha Mallett was shot and killed in february. Oh, my god. I lost someone. My best friend. The young shooter killing one oh five in february. The murder remains unsolved. But new Ballistic Technology is dramatically helping Chicago Police and federal agents solve cases like hers.
