Tonight as terrorist acts are committed around the globe almost every day by islamic extremisms, president obama and members of his administration have gone to Great Lengths to deny the rise of radical islam. I dont quibble with labels. We do ourselves a disservice in this fight if we are not taking into account the fact that the overwhelming majority of muslims reject this ideology. Violent extremism is something we want to be focused on. And its not just its not just islamic violent extremism. Were going to focus on all the different kinds of extremism with a heavy focus on people who do this in the name of islam. We would say falsely in the name of islam but there are other forms of extremism. Lets make two things clear isil is not islamic. No religion condones the killing of innocents. Now, late last week at the National Prayer breakfast president obama thought it was appropriate though to lecture christians. All right. Lets watch this. We see isil brutal, vicious, death cult that in the name of religion carries out unspeakable acts of barbarism, terrorizing religious minorities like the yazidis. Subjecting women to rape as a weapon of war and claiming the mantle of religious authority for such actions. And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the crusades and inquisition people committed terrible deeds in the name of christ. In our home country slavery and jim crow all too often was justified in the name of christ. It is not unique to one group or one religion. There is a tendency in us, a sinful tendency that can pervert and distort our faith. You cant find a single verse in the new testament that says kill the unbelievers. Theyre just following the founder of their faith jesus christ as well who said love your enemies. When they commit acts of violence 35 verses in the quran that call for killing whether you agree or disagree in the Catholic Church even apologized for it but it was in defense of war after muslim armies conquered france, italy, spain, and everything in between, geraldo. Theyd taken over these christian sites. There is context and texture to the crusades. Let me put it in context. And i was in that room. And it was frankly verbal rape. Really . Oh yeah. I was offended as a christian by what the president said, but im alarmed as an american that we have a president who will not acknowledge the severity or the source of this real threat against us. Look you cannot understand radical islam until you understand their deep hatred for the nation of israel. I hear people talk about but we need to fix islam, we need to reform islam. Today however the issue is right in front of his nose in the here and now and thats terrorism of radical islam, the assassination of journalists, the beheading and burning alive of captives. Well keep an eye out for runaway christians, but itd be nice if he would face the reality of the situation today. Why do you think he steadfastly refuses to acknowledge radical islam . Sean, first of all thats exactly right. Ive got a deal for the white house, well keep an eye out for runaway christians make sure medieval christianity doesnt make a comeback sean, this is a president he doesnt like to use those words. He doesnt like to call it terrorism. He sometimes tries to treat it as a criminal act. He certainly doesnt like to say radical islamic. Theres a politically correct crowd that jumps on you when you say that. Youve been the victim of this. Ive been attacked when i gave a speech in london talking about the threats and dangers posed by radical islamic terrorism called on Muslim Leaders to condemn individuals say loudly and clearly they were not martyrs. By the way here in the west we better insist on assimilation and integration for those who want to come live in our country. I think hes trying to be politically correct. Youve heard the left say we say things if you call it what it is, i think its just common sense. Lets talk about the history of this about the crusades which started the First Crusade began 1095, but that was 460 years after the First Christian city was overrun by muslim armies. Part of the problem is regardless of his anlalogynalogy, its this moral equivalence, this mush, theres a greater problem here. This is a president who wont proudly proclaim american exceptionalism. May be the first president who ever truly doesnt believe in that. Look at his foreign policy. Doesnt believe america as a force for good. Seems like instead he believes in multilateralism as a goal not a tactic. He allows foreign capitals have veto power over foreign policy. This is part of what happens. What i worry about is we dont teach american exceptionalism to the next generation, these are the kind of leaders were going to have. We dont insist on english, we dont insist on people coming here as americans not hyphenated americans, use our subculture to overthrow our freedoms. We dont discriminate against anybody. He talked about terrible deeds done in the name of christ. Do you think he would ever say the words terrible deeds done in the name of mohamed and if not why not . I wish he would. The threat we face today are radical islamic terrorists. He seems to go out of his way to say theyre not terrorists, so say theyre not radical muslims. Sean, islams got a problem. The reality is i dont think, i certainly dont believe, i dont hope majority of muslims agree with these terrorists, but weve got to recognize the problem for what it is. Thats why its up to individual Muslim Leaders to denounce not just the individual acts, so youre right. He refuses to use those words. Speaking at a National Prayer breakfast, look at the context look at where he was speaking, he had to reach back in a history hundreds of years ago as you said to try to talk about to look at all the bad things christians have done. Hes supposed to be our leader. You were in washington today and i know you were talking about getting government out of the states and education. A lot of people believe now youre really gearing up for a run for the presidency. So where do you stand in that process . Well, sean were thinking about it. Anybody whos thinking about running for president needs to think about the issues and present detailed ideas of how do we move the country forward. Weve got to get rid of common core latest example of the federal government overreaching in the local classrooms. We need to enact parent choice. If there are republicans or candidates who believe in a bigger role for the federal government, they should make that case. And we should have that debate. And voters should get to decide. But this is an important election. Anybody thinking about running needs to be thinking about the issues how do we lead our country forward, how do we change the direction from where our president s taken to us get back on the right path to preserve the American Dream for our kids. Williams has also canceled his upcoming guest appearance on the late show with David Letterman which ironically is where he once lied about being in a helicopter that was hit by an rpg in iraq in 2003. Thats not all, williams credibility is being further questioned after he claimed to have seen a dead body floating in the French Quarter during Hurricane Katrina and also said he got dysentery by accidentally drinking flood water in new orleans. Here to help set things straight, the helicopter pilot who transported Brian Williams on his chief to iraq and former Health Director who helped treat victims of katrina. Guys, good to see you. Thank you so much for being with us. Chief kelly, let me start with you. So you were on the helicopter. Whats the truth . What happened . The truth is we took off from kuwait after hooking up our loads. We were approximately half an hour behind the big windy crew, the two aircraft that took off ahead of us with their loads. Ran into some weather problems which caused some fuel problems and having enough fuel to get back to kuwait after the mission was accomplished. While we were flying up there we heard over guard an apache taking fire. And shortly after that the big windy bird taking fire. Other than the sandstorm, which i guess you landed very successfully, you took on no fire whatsoever. And how many minutes behind were you with the chopper that got hit with the rpg . Theres no way to know that for sure but somewhere around 15 to 30 minutes behind the big windy aircraft that got shut down. Now you heard what he said on David Letterman. Then he also said this during his broadcast on 13015. Heres what he said. The story actually started with a terrible moment a dozen years back during the invasion of iraq when the helicopter we were traveling in was forced down after being hit with an rpg. Our traveling nbc crew was kept alive. So he repeatedly said it was your helicopter, the helicopter he was in that got hit by the rpg. Thats not true. No. As far as i know we didnt take any fire. Nothing was fired at us. How are people like yourself reacting to the fact that we keep hearing the term stolen valor or honor. How do you feel as the person that was there with him and then you hear the story evolve into this and being repeated often over the years. What was your reaction . Well, as i stayed on the interview with cnn, i dont make any judgments on mr. Williams in this regard. His position in the back of the aircraft, im not even sure if he was up on headsets but if he was he could have heard the calls over guard thought it was us. I really dont know. Im not mr. Williams. But what i can say is being on the aircraft one of three pilots who were on that aircraft we did not take any fire. You would have known if your airplane was hit whether your chopper was hit with an rpg though, there would have been no ambiguity, correct . There are cer indications that make that certain when that happens. All right. Doctor, let me go to the katrina story. Two things he claimed in the French Quarter i think he was staying at the ritz carlton that he saw a body outside floating in the water facedown. Would that have been possible in that area of the French Quarter . Well technically the ritz carlton isnt even in the French Quarter. It is on the border. Its on the block sometimes considered part of the French Quarter. But that area of new orleans as French Quarter got very little in the way of flooding. I understand there may have been some water in the street there at least part of the time. That was one of the little fringe areas where its a little low. But nobody else down here in new orleans saw any bodies floating in canal street. In other words in that location. What about the issue of dysentery. He said he swallowed some of the flood water and got dysentery. I know you helped treat victims of Hurricane Katrina. You were quoted in one article saying you didnt run into anybody during the time or month later that had gastro enteritis. Dysentery is a very violent form of enteritis particularly in the effect of the lower bowels. The infectious problems we saw after katrina were number one skin and soft Tissue Infections primarily from staph and number two respiratory tractinfections. I cant recall treating a Single Person for anything even resembling dysentery. Certainly i dont remember any gastroenteritis. Obviously with the amount of people down here somebody had to come down, i wouldnt be surprised at all of that. But it was not a problem here. There was a problem with some outbreaks in some of the Refugee Centers especially the hospitalized centers with very sick people crowded together. But that was all outside. Not drinking water. That was all outside of new orleans. And i dont believe that lake pontchartrain waters that came over would have carried the bacteria that would have caused the human dysentery. All right. And im saying to the general, some fourstar, okay so if were at 1,500 feet it wouldnt really take much for them to adjust the aim and try to do ring toss right there our open doors, would it . But theyre firing real bullets over there. Any time you want to cross over to the other side, baby, travel with me. How do you analyze all of this . Its inexplicable to me. The news is just getting worse and worse for the man. A friend of mine told me yesterday its like the person who plays on a Super Bowl Team and a few years later he tells people he was the halfback. And a few years after that he tells somebody he was the quarterback who threw the winning touchdown. This seems to be the pathology of Brian Williams. Were learning more things. Go to the new orleans story. Now if you look as a blogger for news buster did, he looked at the daily log that was written by Brian Williams thats on nbc. Com. Nowhere is there any mention of that dead body floating. Nowhere is there any mention of dysentery. Nowhere is there any mention of the gangs that he now reports to have seen. So that is coming out. Turning out that whole story is false. Sean, the problem is this nbc has to face this reality. If they keep their number one prize possession on the air, the wheels come off all credibility on that news format. If they dont keep him on, they have lost their number one star.
