Surpass 2 trillion. This as states ramp up emergency measures to try to stop the spread of coronavirus. So far more than 195,000 americans have been tested. Fox news has you covered on all angles beginning with Mark Meredith live from the white house. Reporter more and more americans are being tested, but the administration also says the risk for most americans of serious illness remains low. The administration facing several different questions though about what can be done to make sure american hospitals and doctors have what they need. The Administration Says its placed an order for millions more n95 masks, the requests are widespread. Requests for masks, ppes, swab sets, test site supports, ventilators, Hospital Capacity assessments and many more. We are in lock step with hhs to answer these requests, but we will do whatever is necessary to get states, territories and others what they need. Reporter the white house praising companies that have been offering to help including apple, this is a tweet from the ceo of aping, quote apple were donating millions of masks to heroes on the front lines. We thank you. If meantime, across the country weve seen states like ill, california and new york require residents to stay home unless its essential to go out. We asked the president whether or not a National Curfew is coming, he insists it is not. You know, states where they have two people or three people, and those people are in quarantine. And you cant put on them what youre putting in new york where you do have a tremendous problem. We have large portions of the country, Middle America, where, you know, they have a few people. So maybe a time, i hope that never happens, where we need to take very drastic action. But right now thats not in the same ballpark. Reporter the administration has rolled out a number of measures to help people impacted by the virus including extending the tax deadline, suspending foreclosures and evictions for some, standardized testing requirements being waive for school kids and student loan payments being waived for 60 days, for federal Student Loans, ish say. The aid package could cost well over 1 trillion. We expect more details possibly tonight. We asked President Trump today what workers should do right now if theyre worried about losing their jobs or may have lost their jobs. This is what the president has to say. Well, what they do right now is keep receiving their paycheck and, hopefully, their companies are going to be in very strong position. We want to keep everything together because we think were going to have a tremendous bounceback. Reporter its unclear when that bounceback may happen. Also we should mention that the Vice President says he and his wife are being tested for covid19 after a member of his staff tested positive. That staff member, though, said to be doing well. The Vice President and president making clear they feel fine right now. Jon . Jon Mark Meredith, thanks. Meanwhile, the number of covid19 cases in the u. S. Rapidly increasing as Many Americans are getting swabbed now after the fbi fda, i should say, authorized the first rapid point of care tests that deliver results in less than an hour. This all comes as President Trump says a potential coronavirus treatment could very soon be made available to the public. Steve harrigan is live outside the cdc headquarters in atlanta with more. Steve . Reporter jon, in a short term with dramatically increased testing, certainly there has been a spike in the number of confirmed cases, another 8,1 is 30 in the past 24 hours. Thats a spike in one day of about 50 . In the meantime, as you mentioned, the fda approving for the first time a pointofcare test for the coronavirus. It comes from a California Company. Theyve come up with the goods, the test results actually take about 45 minutes. This test really changes dynamics greatly. Before the test could have to take 12 days getting sent off to a central lab. The California Company also says this system requires no special training, and it can run for 24 hours, around the clock, so it could give near immediate results to both patients and caretakers to enable them to make quick decisions. The tests are expected to begin shipping next week. Jon, back to you. Jon steve harrigan, thank you. New jersey increasing restrictions on its residents, ordering them to stay at home unless absolutely necessary. This after the governors of four other states issued similar orders to spread the slow slow the spread of coronavirus. Alex hogan is at the Jacob Javits Convention center in new york city with more. Reporter jon, new york state has more than ten times more than any other state in terms of the number of cases that were seeing, and 60 of those cases are here in the city. Now, the governor announcing some new locations of field hospitals, the Javits Center behind me just the latest of places where patients will begin to come as we see this backlog in the Health Care System. As businesses continue to slow down, some of these centers will open up. Again, four centers weve learned will be temporary hospitals. Each of these four centers will house up to 250 patients. Some hospitals already seeing mass shortages of medical supplies and masks and the governor calling this a statewide shortage. We are going to send one million n95 masks to new york city today. Thats been a priority for new york city. We are literally scouring the globe looking for medical supplies. Reporter new yorks grown increasingly quiet which will only increase tomorrow. New rules also go into effect in new york starting at 8 p. M. On sunday. Law enforcement will make sure people stay at least 6 feet apart in public spaces like Grocery Stores, far says and parks. And pharmacies and parks. And starting tomorrow everyone is ordered to stay home except for health care, Law Enforcement and security, manufacturing of retail goods like food and pharmaceuticals, journalism, construction and infrastructure, shelters and childcare facilities and finance. New jerseys governor, phil murphy, siting a sum executive order for his state starting at 9 p. M. Tonight, people must stay home. This, of course, throughout the country allows people to go outside to get groceries, Food Pharmacy items and, of course, to exercise. Other states in the northeast closing down nonessential businesses too but, of course, not all of them creating these kinds of restrictions. As businesses slow down, testing only continues to ramp up here and around the country. Vice president pence saying 195,000 people have been tested. New york has performed more than 45,000 tests, thats more than china or south korea, and that is according to the governor. And compared to initial thoughts this really only was affecting the older population, were learning that 54 of the cases that were seen here in new york are people between the ages of 1849. Jon . Jon alex hogan, thank you. Overseas, italy seeing another massoff spike in causes massive spike. Hospitals there are reeling under the immense caseload as the pandemic pushes that countrys Health Care System to its breaking point. Amy kellogg is in florence, italy, with the latest. Reporter jon, it was a bad day for the numbers here in italy, but that said, a record was set in terms of the number of patients cured, and that was over 900 people. But nearly another 800 died, nearly another 5,000 Coronavirus Infections are registered, and that brings the total of infections reported since the beginning of this pandemic to over 53,000. Now, the Global Response has been interesting. Europe hasnt been willing or able to do much as they face their own imminent crisis. But on top of a lot of chinese help thats been coming to italy, cuba is sending 22 doctors who will land here tomorrow. The Nurses Federation put out an appeal earlier this week. There is no more time, they said, we have no more beds, there are too few of us, too few hospitals. We are alone. Meanwhile, hospitals struggle to keep up with the flow of patients. And the mayor said a rather scary thing which is he thinks a lot of elderly people are dying at home or hospices of coronavirus, and yet no one is calling them or bothering to test them for it. So the numbers of registered covid19 deaths may be lower than the actual truth. Here was one of the doctors describing the stress. [speaking italian] it is a sue tsunami. And we are here 12 hours a day, only we are to home for a few hours and come back here for work. Because we are here for the patients. Reporter while the mayor actually thinks that the number of patients dying may be far greater of this disease, there are medical professionals who say that the numbers are are skewed in the other direction, that a lot of people are dying with covid19, not because of it. They already have two or three other Health Conditions at the same time and are in a very advanced stage of life. Finally, while italy struggles to take care of its own needs, it did manage to send out two planeloads of its swabs this week test swabs this week, about a million, because theyre produced here, and they claim that they have enough to go around, jon. Jon amy kellogg, thank you. Air raid sirens echoing across jordans capital to mark the start of a nationwide threeday curfew. [background sounds] jon this is the latest mass lockdown in the middle east aimed at containing the coronavirus. Meanwhile in iran, the death toll from the outbreak now stands at 150 people as there are 1500 people as there are now 20,000 plus confirmed cases in that country. Ing Ryan Chilcote has the latest developments from our london bureau. Reporter jon, the worry in the United Kingdom is that the crisis here may soon look like the crisis in italy. The death toll in the u. K. Now exceeds 200, rising by nearly 30 over the last 24 hours. In the middle east, iran remains the hardest hit run, the virus claimed another 123 lives in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to over 1500 people. More than 20,000 confirmed cases. Many worry the countrys Health Care Infrastructure, already weakened by u. S. Sanctions, could soon be overwhelmed. And finally, we go to china where the government is on a pr offensive, shipping experts and millions of face maxings masks to places like greece, serbia, the Czech Republic and italy. Meanwhile in china, there are some signs that the crisis may be dissipating. For the third day now in a row, no new reported cases in wuhan or the hue bay province where all this started. Jon . Jon item Ryan Chilcote, thank you. The pentagon deploying its sources and personnel to assist some of the hardesthit states where hospitals are overwhelmed due to the outbreak. But the u. S. Military is facing challenges of its own as dozens in its ranks have tested positive for covid19. Lucas tomlinson has more from the pentagon. Reporter top pent gone Officials Say theres no truth whatsoever to rumors the National Guard will enforce martial law or a nationwide curfew amid the coronavirus outbreak. Acting dhs secretary chad wolf spoke on fox friends. Its simply not true. We see a lot of disinformation campaigns, so we want to make sure we refute those. The National Guard will continue to help their communities. Defense secretary esper says over 4,000 guardsmen have been mobilized across 31 statements and tens of thousands could eventually be all called up. Be called up. Thousands of hotel rooms are being turned into makeshift hospitals. Were talking about over 10,000 that were looking at right now. In tampa a sailor has tested positive for coronavirus after returning home from the middle east. At the pentagon, lucas tomlinson, fox news. Jon thanks, lucas. President trump looking to accelerate possible Treatment Options for the coronavirus, tweeting high driving while intoxicated city color chloroquine and iowa zit promy sin taken together have a real chance to be one of the biggest guamchangers in the history of medicine. How realistic is this . Lets bring in mike levin, former secretary of health and Human Services and former governor of utah. The president seems to hold a lot of, hold out a lot of promise for this particular drug cocktail. What are the experts saying, there . Well, existing medicines that have been through fda and have been in the market for a long time that will have an impact on this virus do seem to be pomsing and promising and could happen much more quickly than a vaccine. A vaccine, it goes through a much more lengthy process in order to make certain that its safe and effective. But it would be a gamechanger, youre right, if we could find the right cocktail of prescription or nonprescription drugs that could have an impact on this virus. Jon the director of the National Institute of allergy and infectious diseases, dr. Anthony fauci, didnt seem to hold out as much hope for this particular drug cocktail f thats what you want to call it. Here are his remarks. Not totally sure of what the president was referring to, but i believe hes referring to a report that used both high driving while intoxicated city chloroquine and assist row my sin together to have some possibility of being in effect. Many of the things that you hear out there are what i had called ab ec dotal reports anecdotal report. They may be true, but theyre anecdotal. Jon so it leaves us wondering, is it anecdotal information, or is there solid Science Behind this . I think its clearly at this point anecdotal information. But the fact these drugs have existed for a long time and that they have demonstrated some impact on other viruses give people, i think, a reason to wonder if thats a combination. I am sure that there are, the scientific communitys pursuing that as rig louse rousely rigorously as possible. Well know more as information is available. Jon obviously, its an all hands on tech kind on deck kind of situation. The president has talked about the great work the fda has done to get drugs and other treatments fasttracked. But in terms of, you know, testing out new medications on human beings, thats a very slow process. It is a slow process, but its an important one. Its a dangerous one to try to put things out too quickly. There was an instance in 1967 when a vaccine for the swine flu was put into the marketplace with a kind of rapid process and, frankly, we dealt with very Serious Health issues for many years after that. So i think well see that our government is properly certain before we start injecting vaccines into the arms of human beings that its safe and effective. Jon there might be a lot of people out there withing you know, spring hay fever symptoms who are wondering if theyre carrying coronavirus. I want to put up a list of the symptoms right now so that everybody can read those. Fever is a big part of it. Cough, shortness of breath, aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat and even diarrhea. As we close tonight, mike, what are, whats your best advice to americans who are staying home and maybe a little bit afraid . Well, were all unsettled by something we have not experienced before as a country. And i think its clear that many people will get the virus that will not find themselves in serious harms way. So i think that we ought to be conscious that if that occurs and we begin to have very serious symptoms, then its time to go to the there or to do something the doctor or to do something. If its mild symptoms like this, weve been through this before. Jon former utah governor, former health and Human Services secretary, thank you. Many of those are now offering pickup and Delivery Services as owners wait for a relief package to try to keep their eateries afloat until they can reopen. Alicia acuna is talking to owners and customers in Greenwood Village, colorado. Alicia. Reporter hi, jon. Like so Many Americans, this is a matter of survival for these restaurants that now have only dinein and takeout as only the only game in town. I want you to take a look at this map, a reflection of something you were just talking about. Only seven statements in the u. S. Are allowing dinein at restaurants, that means places like this here in Greenwood Village. They have an empty dining room that is closed, but their kitchen is open. Now, are we still going to lose money . Most likely. But its no worse than shutting down, losing money anyways. By operating a restaurant and keep this going in a very safe environment, i think we can do more good for society than not. Reporter the National Restaurant association projects the industry will take at least a 225 billion loss and be forced to eliminate between 57 million jobs over the next three months. Dining rooms across the nation sit with empty tables and chairs while these owners either adapt their menus or begin anew like one wine bar that started making Fried Chicken for pickup with a bottle of wine. According to food boss, many are hiring drivers and not charging fees to restaurants. In a statement, grubhub tells us, quote we are also working closely with government officials to insure that kitchens stay open for pickup and delivery even when dinein capacity must be shut down. Were doing Everything Possible to organize Community Support through orders and donations to keep these independent businesses solvent through the current crisis. Jon, so many of these Small Businesses are learning, sadly, that their insurance that theyve had all along does not cover pandemics. Jon . Jon art, alicia acuna in Greenwood Village, thank you. Colorado, obviously, restaurants across the country are being forced to find creative ways to keep their businesses afloat amid growing concerns we could face a potential food shortage in the near future. This as Grocery Stores feel the strain with shoppers finding empty shelves and long checkout lineses. Jacqui heinrich is tracking that for us. Reporter well, jon, panic shopping has put an enormous strain on Grocery Stores as were seeing bare shelves across the country and highdemand items out of stock on line. And some people are logically wondering if a food shortage could be next as this virus puts a strain on manufacturers, food transportation and delivery and also farmers who would otherwise be planting with confidence about the market this spring. But Industry Leaders say the scarcity were seeing in some stores right now isnt reflective of a deeper problem. The industry is balanced to supply consumers with average needs, and even after previous disasters like Hurricane Katrina or 9 11, needs spiked in certain areas of the country and for a finite period of time but not nationwide with an indefinite end as were seeing right now. Manufacturers are working 24 hours a day to pump out products, and experts say in a weeks time well be in a better place, although you might not see every flavor of your favorite product since the most popular items are being prioritized. The best way for us to be able to catch up is for all of us when were shopping to buy what we need for the next few days or week or so, but perhaps not what we need in six months from now. Reporter with restaurants shuttered, this is also a surplus of food that typically goes to the service industry. One Regional Supply Company saw that market opening and converted its business, now offering home grocery delivery, ideal for people who dont want exposure to the virus at supermarkets. They lost 85 of their business when restaurantses closed, but they made up 60 of that by shifting to retail. Now, a shortage could be ahead for some products including imports, already seeing a bit of an impact for european import, but it does provide an opening for domestic products. Jon. Jon jacqui heinrich, thanks. President trump is considering options to help support Small Businesses that are struggling during this coronavirus pandemic, hoping to stave off or at least minimize a recession. Column gene marks writes in the Washington Times why this years recession will be nothing like the financial problems of 2009. He writes, now theyre nowhere near as severe as the problem we had back during the last Great Recession of 20089, and there are at least three fundamental reasons why. Joining us with those reasons, from the barks group bc, thanks for being with us. Yeah, im happy to be here, and thanks for having me on. Yeah, you know, there are some fundamental differences. And if youre running a Small Business or you know somebody running a Small Business, you have to keep this in mind. This is definitely a shortterm thing. This is not like it was back in 2009 where people were really scared as to how long this thing was going to last. There is plenty of credit available, and ill get back to that in a minute. Right now i have six of my clients call me up and said their banks proactively called them asking how can we help. Thats not something that we saw back in 2009 either, so there is credit thats out there. And finally, once this pandemic does come to an end, whenever that is, there is a lot of pentup consumer demand, and i think that businesses need to be preparing for that. John, if i may jon, if i may, millions of Small Businesses are struggling with what to do, and i do have some advice for them how to survive and navigate through this pandemic, if i can offer just a few bits of advice. Jon yeah. Number one, go to the Small Business administrations web site, sba. Gov. They can offer up to 2 million in loans to individual businesses, and this is not the typical sba loan, its a Disaster Recovery loan. That means you can apply for it quick, you can get your money a lot quicker, you can pay it back over 30 years, and the Interest Rates are very, very low. So check out the sba. Gov. Theres money there to help you get through this. Keep an eye on what marco rubio and the senate Small Business committee are doing, looking to pass legislation soon thatll offer grants for Small Businesses to cover payroll through at least june 30th. So thats a big thing to keep in mind. Go ahead, im sorry . Jon also worth reminding our viewers to try and support those businesses in their communities that are still open and have not been ordered to close. Gene marks, we have to leave it there. Thanks for the advice. Sure. Thank you, jon. Take care. Jon coming up, what to expect from the stimulus bill if the legislation passes in the u. S. Senate. Ere. Ere. Tv sports announcer time out. Workers who are laid off should receive a paycheck equal to what they were receiving while employed. Workers must be protected whether they work for businesses small, medium or large. Jon the Senate Debating a trillion dollar stimulus bill to counteract the coronavirus are impact on the u. S. Economy as business comes to a grinding halt with more than a fourth of americans under orders to just stay home. Im jon scott, and this is a special edition of the fox report. The trump Administration Says the emergency stimulus package could eventually surpass 2 trillion as the number of cases tops 24,000 here in the u. S. And is expected to grow. Meanwhile, italy is tightening its lockdown after 793 people died from the virus in just 24 hours. Iran reporting over 20,000 cases of infection. Under the white house proposal, 50 billion would go to airlines, another 150 billion for other affected sectors of the economy, and 500 billion for direct payments to the American People. Susan ferrechio is chief Congressional Correspondent for the washington examiner. Susan, we heard if Chuck Schumer as well as Mitch Mcconnell there, both republican and democrat leaders want to, you know, get some money to the American People and inject some money into the economy, but it sounds like they might have very different methods of trying to accomplish that. Well, i think theyre going to work out a deal pretty quickly. Today they gave encouraging remarks after closed door meetings that they are, they are getting close to having a deal. Theyre tying up the loose ends, and there is going to be a vote tomorrow or around 3 00 to advance this big package even though we havent seen the final details. That hasnt been released yet. What theyre doing is drafting the legislation as they go rather than waiting until the very end and then starting the drafting process. Theyre trying to really speed this along so that there can be a vote to at least advance the legislation are by the time the stock market opens on monday. We heard from the liaison for the white house to congress, and he said that the effort right now really is to get this done, at least one vote on the measure by sunday just to show that congress is ready to move on something. So theyre both making concessions, both sides. So that, when that happens normally, the size and scope of the bill gets bigger. And thats whats happening right now. So youre looking at 1. 4 trillion in spending, and that will be in addition to about 700 billion in federal loan guarantees. So so youre looking at 2 trillion for more in federal output here, which is a pretty huge number. Its an astronomical number. But the message were getting from lawmakers today is that these are desperate economic times, a although they may be very temporary, youre looking at high unemployment, youre looking at Big Industries that need to be sustained like the airlines so that they dont go under during this time, dont have to layoff lots of people. So theres a lot of con segs being made concessions being made by both parties right now. Jon and there doesnt seem to be a lot of arguing about, you know, not a lot of politics, i guess i should say. I mean, weve had an awful lot of acrimony on capitol hill so far this year, but it does seem like both sides want to get something done. Normally in a situation like this, first of all, there is some partisanship going on behind the scenes. And before our eyes. You will hear it when theyre debating this measure and when they go to talk to reporters. But when you have a situation like this where the economy has been thrown the into this sudden tail spin and in addition to that theres this huge Public Health crisis, theres a lot of fear involved here, and that coupled with just the enormity of the issue here can get Congress Moving very quickly. And to kind of move along over the partisanship. I wouldnt say its gone, but theyre willing to keep moving despite the partisanship. I know there are disagreements over how, how to administer aid to individuals. And i think what the result going to be is a fairly expanded Unemployment Insurance program jon yeah. This is something democrats really wanted. The republicans are giving in on that, and youre going to probably see 26 or more weeks of extra Unemployment Insurance where people are getting paid around the same rate as they were getting maybe before being furloughed due to the economic crisis. So is thats a pretty big deal. And then i think youre actually going to see this aid to the Airline Industry that you mentioned, about 58 billion in loans about 58 billion for both the commercial and Cargo Airlines and another 150 billion for these other Big Industries that are hurt by this economic slowdown. So concessions on both sides and really big concessions. Jon obviously, the states are going to need a lot of help too. Ive heard of restaurants in new york where theyre been orders to close, and the own ors fire the worker outright because by firing them, their employees are entitled to receive unemployment pen sayings. So the states are going to be forking out billions of dollars in unemployment claims, and thats got to be made up somehow. Theres going to be at least 300 billion in aid to Small Businesses to try to keep them afloat so that they can keep their staff from being laid off. So thats going to be a big part of the puzzle here. But, jon, stay tuned for a fourth bill. This is the third bill, this major stimulus package that were talking about right now. Theres going to probably be another bill after this thats going to potentially address states dealing with these unemployment claims. Unless theyre able to get it all settled in this bill, then i think youre going to see, perhaps, more legislation down the road the deal with what youre talking about. But this bills getting so big right now that it potentially could be taken care of here dealing with the Small Business loans which are forgivable, by the way. They dont have to be paid back if these Small Businesses dont lay off any workers. Thats a big deal in the form of grants. And then theres this Unemployment Insurance where workers can get paid pretty much at the rate that they were being paid before the economy went into a tailspin and before they got laid off for up to six months. Thats what democrats have been asking for, and ive been told theyre going to get pretty close to what theyre asking for for that. That deal seem to be settled at this point. You have the federal government really kicking in help on the unemployment front, and thats probably going to help the states quite a bit. Jon washington seems ready to move fast on this one which doesnt happen very often on capitol hill. Susan ferrechio, thank you. Thanks a lot. Jon be sure to tune in tomorrow to Fox News Sunday. Chief White House Correspondent john roberts is in for chris wallace, hell be joined by treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin and former cdc director tom fienden to discuss the frieden to be discuss the massive relief bill we were just discussing. This is a number of confirm cases in the u. S. Surpasses 24,000. Good evening im jon scott and this is a special two hour edition of thing fox report. As nation grapples with grow number of cases governors in five states including new york issue orders to stay home. Meanwhile a grim milestone in italy as officials report nearly 800 new coronavirus deaths. Thats a single day record. And in mideast infection in hard hit nation of iran now top 20,000. All of this as President Trump calls for a massive stimulus to protect americans from the economic fallout. The administration now saying that final price tag could exceed there are 2 trillion. The Senate Holding rare weekend session to try to get it across the finish line. Both sides reporting progress as lawmakers appear eager to get something to the American People as soon as possible. We have fox Team Coverage on both the domestic and International Front we begin at the white house where Mark Meredith is joining. Reporter good evening jon lawmakers are in a rush to get something done because theres so many worries about their job and where paychecks will be coming from and their rent or mortgage payment this weekend negotiations ongoing up on capitol hill between both the parties as well as the white house. We do expect more details to trickle out later on tonight on what an eight pack will look like and cost. We asked president , though, what a workers should do right now if they a either lost their job orb to. Or about to. Hopefully theyre companies will be in a strotion position and keep everything together because we think were going to have a tremendous bounceback. Reporter several states are expected to see a surge in unemployment claims because of this outbreak. Weve also seen so many states see that workers must stay home unless theyre considered essential works and congress is debating that specific package weve seen administration take steps to bring immediate relief in different ways they be and we want to show you with options including extending the tax deadline now until july, foreclosures and evictions have been us suspended for mortgages and fda waived and student loan payments for federal Student Loans are being suspended for 60 days now states like california and new york said they cannot leave unless theyre essential and white house says it does not see any need for a federal curfew basically or for a one size fits all solution. We asked president about that possibility, though, earlier today heres what he had to say. States with two or three and those people are in quarantine and you put on them with new york where you do have a tremendous problem. We have large portions of the country Middle America where you know, they have a few people. So it may be a time i hope that never happens where we immediate to take a very drastic action but right now, thats not in the same ballpark. Reporter thats the the economic crisis but were with also watching Health Crisis with so many hospitals wondering where theyre going to be able to get their medical supplies when it comes to those masks as well as other protective gear. The Administration Says it is ordering a place a large order for department of health an Human Services for millions of those and 95 million mask and clear when those mask make their way throughout the country and administration is praising Companies Like apple stepped up and donated some of their supplies also weve been watching here at the white house as a Vice President says he and his wife will be tested they havent already now for the coronavirus, after one of the Vice President s staffers tested positive. That staffer is said to be doing very well you may remember jon it was just a week ago we learned President Trump had been tested as if that test came bag negative he said today he was feeling fine. Jon. Jon Mark Meredith at the white house thank you. Last state to report any coronavirus cases is West Virginia. Jim justice the governor there, is holding a briefing on his states response to the current situation. Lets listen. To multiple by a multiplierer of ten numbers are not much different than where we are today. With that being said, what i e mean is new york didnt have a whole lot more than 120 confirmed cases ten days ago. And today, with us with 12 with, it almost aligns perfectly. The 64 question is this, we dont want to end up ten days from today where with new york is today. With that being said, i give you one other thing to think about. And that is just simply just this the president all the kings horses and all of the kings men had to know of an incredible financial meltdown that would happen within our country if we took all of these unprecedented steps that were taking. And so they had to know that there was a wave coming, a potential wave that could be absolutely so destructive its unbelievable. Youre seeing it right now in new york youre seeing it tonight. Youre seeing panic. Youre seeing a situation where there very well be be thousands die. But lets again just be fair. And lets just think, think where we could end up ten days from today. I comengd all comengd all of you about about all of the hardwork that youve already done. The thingses that we have with done so far and weve put in place for work and really are. We should be very, very proud of the fact that a few days back, we declared a state of emergency. We absolutely, we closed the state tournament. We closed right behind that, we closed schools behind that we closed hair salon and barbershops and even hatfield mccoy. Now tonight im telling you, we are not going to shut down the entire state now. But youve got to know that just this, as we go forward, if well absolutely employ all of these things that im going to tell it you of tonight, maybe we can prevent that from happening. But we have got to move and weve got to move stronger than we already are right now. Jon jim justice governor of West Virginia telling resident of his state that there are going to be some painful steps taken in the days ahead West Virginia as i e mentioned earlier was the last state that had no coronavirus cases reported at one point. 49 others had reported in West Virginia had none as of about a week ago. But thats not the case anymore, and in West Virginia is taking some of the same steps that many other states are taking in response to coronavirus crisis. In meantime President Trump is a embracing potential coronavirus treatments as number of cases grows across the u. S. The fda now giving emergency authorization for a test that will give people results in 45 minutes. Steve live at the centers for Disease Control headquarters in atlantic. Steve. Jon this is a first for the fda and really it could be enormously significant in processing the testing of potential virus carriers. The company is from california, theyve come up with a point of care test for the coronavirus. That means you find out whether or not you are positive for the virus on site. It basically reduces the whole process of sending sample to centralized lab waiting day or two cuts it down to 45 minutes so this could make be a real game changer for patient answer for medical care prfortds to try to make their decisions. These tests should begin to ship out next week in meantime with more testing over past 24 hours weve seen a dramatic spike in u. S. Cases. 8,130 in just past 24 hours alone. That is a 50 spike in total u. S. Cases in just one day. And finally some more potentially worrisome numbers the financial giant Goldman Sachs making prediction there could be more than 2 million unemployment claims by americans this week. If that prediction holds true, that number would be more than eight times higher than pun employment claim just one week ago. Jon back to you. Steve from atlanta, steve, thank you. Jon five states across the u. S. Now issuing a stay at home order. Governors in new york, new jersey, connecticut, illinois, oregon, and california now asking all resident to stay inside unless absolutely necessary. Alex hogan live from Javits Convention center in new york city the governor just announcing that building is on an initial list of sites that will be made into temporary hospitals. Alex. Reporter jon this is all to accommodate new caseses that we will see moving forward that the govan predicts so again as you mentioned the center behind me just the latest to become a make shift hospital. And over across the state border in new jersey, starting at 9 p. M. Tonight the governor there announcing that everybody officially does need to it stay home. The same ruling goes into effect on sunday at 8 p. M. For new yorkers. Thats tomorrow as essentially telling everyone that they need to be home unless theyre essential personnel people who keep state safe and running. Sunday police will also start enforcing social distancing to slow the spread by making sure that people stay at least 6 feet apart in public places. But i think its as simple as this you dont need to be you shouldnt be out and can be home you should be home thats what it really come down to. Especially for those folks most as a rule vulnerable as i mentioned. Reporter andrew cuomo sharing location of the facilitieses there will become hospitals and 11,000 more cases state reporting the second most, washington, stands at just 1,000. A little over that. Cuomo calling for more medical equipment saying hospitals are overwhelmed and outnumbered. We need 35,000 ventilators so 6,000 weve identified 2,095 a masks which are the high protection masks. Restaurants around country are closed with businesses now stepping in either top help reduce the shortages of masks and sanitizer some Hotels Offering up room as hospital space and around northeast governors adopts similar plans calling for medical equipment and people to hunker down. Pennsylvania and limit businesses that can operate. Massachusetts open its first drivethru Testing Center today. Vermont closing close contact businesses so gyms and things like that starting on monday at 8 p. M. And rhode island govan saying that they should expect no lockdown, however, they should expect restrictions and in all of this isolation, there are also mental Health Issues that are being taken into consideration and doctors are remindingings people to go out to go for a walk in new york call on therapist in state to reach out to help people who do need help in this time of isolation and maine a different approach theyre actually opening up waters out a license so people can go fishing to be outside. Jon. Alex hogan , thank you. Jon italy see worst day for coronavirus fatalities that nation seeing almost 800 deaths in the last 24 hours. Sirens ring out in the capital of aman as well. Those mark the start of a threeday nationwide curfew to try to stop the virus from spreading. Meanwhile iran continues to grapple with region worst outbreak death toll there top hg 1500. Brian has more on the international response. Reporter jon, worry in the United Kingdom is that the crisis here may soon look like the crisis in italy. The death toll in the u. K. Now exceeds 200 rising by nearly 30 over the last 24 hours. Thousands of respirator, hospital beds and doctors many of whom are being called back from retirement will be introduced into Public Health system next week. At the same time, the government is moving on the economic front, britain is going to buy stock in British Airways and other airlines, Financial Times reported saturday, friday the Prime Minister who is already closed all a schools, pubs, restaurants, and feeders announce government will pay up to 80 of all workers salaries. Meanwhile the entire country of spain remains in lockdown. Madrid says that more than 1300 people there have now died of the virus. And a france is now talking about extending it lockdown it. Germany which has a relatively low number of pateties has just floated spend close to 400 billion dollars to safeguard its economy. In middle east, iran remains region hardest hit country. The virus there claim another 123 lives over last 24 hours bringing death toll to over 1500 people. With more than 20,000 confirm cases. Many worry the countrys Health Care Infrastructure already weakened by u. S. Sanctions could soon be overwhelmed. And finally, we go to china where the government is on a fence shipping experts and millions face masks places like greece, serbia Czech Republic and italy meanwhile in china some that might be dissipating and there were no new reported cases in wuhan on province where all of this started. Jon. Jon ryan, thank you. The u. S. Military continues fighting a faceless enemy. Coronavirus, troops are tasked with providing resources in personnel to combat the spread of the disease. Mean time dozens of Service Members themselveses have tested positive for covid19. The most recent a navy sailor Central Command headquarters in florida. Lets talk about hot spots across the u. S. In america, new york is the epicenter of the outbreak right now. Nearly half of all cases nation wide are being reported in the state. Dr. Nina radcliffe is here with more. In new york this thing seems to start on west coast, why new york all of a sudden . Doctor . Reporter well theres a lot of global interfacing students that are returning and new york is very densely populated so it makes sense a rapidly spreading virus that is very contagious. Jon and so the people who were spreading it in the United States made it to new york flights and so forthcoming out of china and other places, and the thing got out of control before we knew what was happening. Yes theres evidence that suggest that this was spreading under radar before u. S. And every country except maybe china was aware of this. Now i want to give you an example take italy for example, the whole epidemic believed to be traced back to Single Person who was asystemmic who visited red zone which is the northern part of italy even in china, this was spreading during the Lunar New Year a largest human migration on planet so this was going on for some time and because this is rapidly rapidly spreading it is highly contagious, its hard to control and even though about quarantine measures have been taken place. Jon we dont know why italy was hit so so hard. But again we just reported that number of dead there nearly 800 people ins last 24 hours. Again, why italy . Well thats whats difficult to know. Theres epidemiologist looking at the fact of this and this is containous im acute care physician and i work with individual who have boots on ground who are interfacing with patients and were dedicated to taking care of the patients and what happens in the middle of all of this this was the war where were making decisions based upon information that we know. Theres even a concept called friction of war where things come up unexpected so theres a blame game and we may not know and a i want to sit there and say lets look at the a horizon, lets be in advance mode. Lets see what we can do for our community, for our nation, for our families and for ourselves. One of the reports is that men are actually more susceptible to the virus than women. Is that actual medical fact or is it simply some information this is preliminary still but we have to be cautious but things are changing rapidly and you know tomorrow there may be another report that says this is not true in the United States. So they believe it has called male vulnerability they believe with behavior and things men do not wash their hands a much as women do and we know fingers can transmit infection into eyes, nose or mouth and entry points in our body or spread to surfaces where is someone else picks it up and they say that men in general this the countries like china as well as south korea about half of them smoke. And smoking can cause lung damage which promotes inflammation and cause further lung damage and estrogen is protected in women in the way that we respond immune system. Jon wash your hands thank you. Jon its take out and delivery only right now for in restaurants across the nation as the coronavirus hits food and Beverage Industry hard and puts million of Service Sector jobs in jeopardy as of now only 7 states are still allowing customers to dine inside restaurants. Alicia is live from Greenwood Village on south side of denver with more on the impact. Alicia. Reporter hi jon a couple of things are happening. You have those food delivery apps, and they are actually seeing quite a surge. They need drivers and we spoke to one today who said they can barely keep up thats good news. But on whole restaurants are truly suffering after losing that dinein option. The National Restaurant projects industry will take at least a 225 billion dollar loss and eliminate between 5 to 7 million jobs over next three months. The owner of the restaurant where im standing volcano asian cuisine said he knew it was going to be bad and it ises were and whats helping him is what were heying here and depending on delivery and takeout. Rent gets but if i take the task of keep the restaurant open, i can do more good for the Community Even though i still am reporter jay provides glove os to his own drivers and Hand Sanitizer but no control when it comes to mail Delivery Company and hopes folk he is tire of the food that they have stalked up. Kind of crazy. But im really happy that people are still working and trying to contribute as much as we can and keep the economy flowing. Reporter according to food boss which aggregates data from deliver rei apps many are hiring drives and not charging commissions in a statement grub hub tells us, quote, to increase cash flow and help restaurant pay their employees, we are deferring our own revenue from these local businesses regardless if theyre long standing partners or new to our platform for the time being. And what many Small Businesses, jon are learning that insurance is not covering pandemics. Jon. Jon alicia from greenwood swirl is lag in colorado. Thanks. Across the country restaurants are being forced to find creative wayses to keep their businesses afloat amid growing concerns we could face a potential food shortage in near future Grocery Stores feel strain with shoppers finding etchty shelves and long lines. Jackie is tracking that angle fors us. Jackie. Some wound tear puts a strain on transforms and also farmers able to plant with confidence this spring they wonder if a food shortage could be ahead. But Industry Leaders say that scarcity were seeing at some places right now is not reflective of a deeper problem. And the food supply is secure. The industry is balanced to supply consumers with average needs not surge demands. Manufacturers are working 24 hours day to pump out product and experts say in a weeks time well be in a better place although might not see as a much variety on shelves because most popular items are being prioritized. What were dealing with is the demand issue rather than a supply issue. It is unprecedented amount of purchases that have happened. So what had is whatting is this very resilient food system that we have in the u. S. Is responding. Reporter with restaurant shattered theres a surplus of food that goes to service industry. One Regional Supply CompanySpecialty Foods is offering home roastery delivery. And lost 85 of its business when restaurants closed. But made up about 60 of it shifting to retail. Personally, im a shopper of fresh direct and amazon, and for me and my family we couldnt get a delivery for over seven days and like listen we have the website, we have the trucks. We have the delivery associates. We have the food and we have the warehouses you can see behind me. Lets try to give this a shot. Reporter restaurants have been about using direct line to wholesalers to keep businesses afloat and new jersey folks on takeout orders and offering household products like a make shift convenient store. Were supplying things as we can like toilet paper, paper towels, bleach, things that are hard toe get you know weve ordered additionally from our suppliers. And our suppliers deliver four days week for us. Reporter now shortage might be ahead for imported products especially products from europe although experts say that does provide an opening for domestic suppliers. Jon. Jon jackie in new york city. Thank you jackie. Covid19 Economic Impact already brutal. Stocks seeing major loss it is this week as Congress Debates a potential bailout package. With us now via skype the president of Capitol Management gary thanks very much for being with us. My pleasure, thank you. This is one of the events thats going to change everything in the United States longterm including our relationship and manufacturing relationship with china, with right . You know. Were piengdzing out more and more things and when we find out that ibuprofen and hydrocortisone make up china and pencillen that will change as relationship changes and that was happen because of the trade war that has been going on a lot of things were moving to taiwan, vietnam but i suspect a lot of thingses will come home so yeah most definitely, that is going to be a forced issue i think also a political issue as we move forward. Jon with so many millions of americans be told to just stay home, thats going to have a real impact on Small Businesses all over country really. This 30 million of them representing over 99 of all businesses, and as i said a few times in the last couple of days weve had a few shut for good. Just in my neighborhood here and then you time that by the millions that are people thinking about it. And a the other part of this equation is, it is not just whats going on now with that, these companies cannot plan for the the future. Theyre in limbo because of this virus we do not know how long its going to last, and every day that goes by is a bad day. And thats why i think youre seeing washington, d. C. Upping numbers up big time over last day, as far as how much money theyre going to sending out to individuals as well as businesses. Jon well how much good can that bailout package do it cant match the economic output thats been lost in the country as a whole, can it . Not even close. Look in the short run it helps unemployment checks, will help. But a job changes everything, and a loss of job changes everything. So this is now a matter of time on how long this is going to take and as i stated, every day Going Forward is bad day and what youre seeing in the market, just a complete repricing of the economy both here and around the globe as just everything shuts down, and i saw on friday, that dow is up 3 or 400 points and having a decent day and then all of a sudden you hear out of new york what theyre going to do and then illinois and we go from up to 400 points to down 900 as we hear more and more of that markets are not going to behave too well and react to well to that because they know more and more businesses are going to be shut down or sitting down for the time being. Jon lets hope we get our arms around this problem soon. Gary, thank you. Youre welcome. Thank you. Jon so what to expect from the trillion dollar coronavirus stimulus bill in legislation passes in the senate is . Plus, how the pandemic is affect aing democratic primary elections. Well be right back. Take prilosec otc and take control of heartburn. So you dont have to stash antacids here. Here. Or, here. Kick your antacid habit with prilosec otc. One pill a day, 24 hours, zero heartburn. So were doing package likes of which nobody has pfer done before. President mentioned our team is on capitol hill as we speak working with members of congress in both political parties. Were working to pass that legislation. On monday in both the house and the senate. Jon white house working closely with u. S. Senate as chail beer holds rare weekend session to try to hammer out a surplus package in response to the coronavirus crisis. Im jon scott this is a special edition of fox report it is now the bottom of the hour. If youre just joining us. Were told to expect some of the text from that bill this evening but not the if entire thing. The chamber scheduled to hold a procedural vote tomorrow. This as Administration Says that finished product could be worth more than 2 trillion. The u. S. Now has more than 24,000 confirm cases of the virus as governors begin to issue statewide orders for people to stay at home. Meanwhile, overseas, italy reporting nearly 800 deaths in a single day. That is a new record for that nation. The pandemic also hitting hard in iran where the total number of infections now tops 20,000. Jon bussy associate editor of Fox News Contributor amazing how thingses have changed in just a matter of weeks we went from record low unemployment and a roaring stock market jon to all of a sudden a situation stock market is flatline and people are getting fired left and right. The question i guess is maybe nobody can answer this, how long does it go on . Yeah. Thats right, and as your last three reports pointed out, jon this is tremendous economic dislocation. You dont shut down economic engines like the state of new york or the state of california. These are Global Economic engines. Without some longlasting effect, Josh Mitchell one of our reporters survey group of economist we have a story about this and theyre expectation is millions of jobs lost this year, and the decline in economic output in the United States of 1. 5 trillion dollars. Thats just a rough estimate. 1. 5 trillion so you have an economy thats 21 trillion. Thats size of the u. S. Economy. So roughly 7 decline in economic output. Thats a substantial economic effect thats what all of the legislators in washington right now are trying to deal with. Jon and the president ial candidate the the people who want to take President Trumps job away from him, its an issue for them as well. Because they dont have the bully pulpit or omega phone that president has. Thats right. The president and the legislator are talking about at one point 3 trillion package everything from expanding Unemployment Insurance, to direct payments to americans, to help for Small Businesses account for disproportionate amount of jobs and about 2 trillion l figure you hear includes some fed action as well. But biden and sanders are looking at this and theyre saying, you know, this is going to be a campaign issue. One, how well was this dealt with both from a prevention standpoint treatment standpoint and economic standpoint. And sanders is saying look this just underscores the need for a different type of health care, that incorporates people more inclusively biden is is talking from a stand point of hey, if i were president you wouldnt have this rob. We would have been better prepared. Jon take a listen to both joe biden and Bernie Sanders talking about the possibility of moving some of the primaryies or election itself. Here are their thoughts. My whole focus is basically been how we deal request this crisis. And quite frankly thus far it has been less about how, how a campaign. I would hope that governors listen to Public Health experts an im thinking about some of the elderly people behind desk registering poem to enroll all of that stuff does not make a lot of sense. Not sure that it does. By rule of ten opposed to 50 and thats pretty tough. I would say probably you could violate that if you wanted to for an election. I just think that election is very special thing. Jon in meantime Washington Post is saying that at least in an oped that they think president s daily coronavirus briefings ought to be squelched by media why is that . Theyre controversial because the president is controversial. And the reaction to some of the measures he did not take and that he did take. Have been sources of controversy and i think that theres, you know, some question of the president at times at the bully pulpit but people around him, you know, particularly from National Institute of health has been pretty good on this. The campaign, jon, it is interesting Bernie Sanders is reassessing whether or not to continue given that biden is is so far ahead. But both of the campaigns are very much focused on the elections and encouraging state to postpone primaries and many states is already have. Question of whether or not we should expand writein votes or ability to send by mail your vote for the november election. Sanders is also essentially stop soliciting money for his campaign and instead talking to supporters about sending money to charity associated with coronavirus outis break. So it has had a very big impact on elections on way campaigns are pursuing of their campaign, and also outlook on to november how are we going to hold National Election when the coronavirus is probably still going to be with us. Joining is now via skype doctor tan elliott. Doctor elliotts, it seems a little counterintuitive that you, as a doctor would be able to look at my image on the computer, and diagnosed my condition . At desi counterintuitive, but we used to do a lot of things previously that if you think about it today, you say why did i do that . Lets talk about Blockbuster Video for example to go take a video home. Now everybody just has netflix. Thats the transition we are seeing in healthcare. When i look at you, medicine is about the art of observation. I will know right away if you are sweating, if i hope everybody has a home thermometer, if they dont they should go ahead and get it so we could take her temperature. And then particularly with covid19 what we are concerned about his respiration, shortness of breath, coughing. I asked my patients to take a big deep breath and i am observing them every step of the way. Are they having any trouble breathing . Are they speaking in full sentences. Are they using any excessive tory respiratory muscles for breathing like flaring their nostrils are using muscles. Thats not normal. So physical examination that i am able to conduct through video, in addition to the history taking of your symptoms, your travel, your exposure, i can do essentially everything that i would do in the office with the exception of ordering the test. So if i do think you have covered 19, then i would just set you up to take the test and we would have someone come into your home. Jon and the benefit is if youre seeing in in people via the internet it keeps the meta hospitals and emergency rooms. Exactly of overcrowded emergency rooms, the Healthcare System is overwhelmed. The risk is if you go in, you could get other people sick. But if you dont actually have covet 19 then you could get it by going to these places. The other piece is we have a shortage of doctors because some doctors are in quarantine. Their hands are tied for 14 days. They can still hop behind a computer, do a video visit and still provide support for the Healthcare System. Jon so this route allows hospitals and doctors to focus on those are truly ill. Absolutely. Dr. Jerome adams a question i often get asked is, why should young people care about the spread of coronavirus . Well we know that people with underlying medical conditions over the age of 60 are at highest risk, but theyve got to get it from somebody. Dr. Anthony fauci social distancing is really physical separation of people. Dr. Deborah birx its what we refer to when we ask people to stay at least six feet apart. Dr. Anthony fauci not going to bars, not going to restaurants, not going to theaters where there are a lot of people.
