Repeal obama care and figure out later what to replace it with. Earlier on fox, republican congresswoman Marsha Blackburn said it is worth considering. This is not that dissimilar to one of the first plans that was out there that said, you know, lets put a date certain that says obama care will cease to exist as of this date. It was one of the first proposals. Everyone knows that theres not one stroke of the pen, that it is going to take many strokes of the pen to get all the rules and regulations. Is that feasible . It could be feasible. Peter doocy has more on the president s weekend live from his golf club in new jersey. Senate majority leader mcconnell still on the same page as is President Trump about the way forward on healthcare . Its not clear if they are still on the same page, laura, and that is a big shift because remember the majority leader mcconnell is the one who stood up on the stage at the rnc almost exactly one year ago to say he had delivered an obama care repeal bill to president obamas desk and he vetoed it but that a President Trump would sign it and it would become law, but still mcconnell has not been able to give President Trump any healthcare legislation, and hes also now denying President Trumps request to split repeal and replace into two separate bills. The first one would repeal. The second one would lay out a new Healthcare System whenever senators were ready, even telling mcconnell telling reporters in kentucky quote it is not easy making America Great again, is it . It is also not easy to keep his own senators on schedule apparently because ten in his party are calling for august recess to be called off. They all signed a letter saying they want more time to work on actually delivering on their number one campaign promise. We do not know yet if delaying recess is something that mcconnell is taking seriously yet. However, we do know that the republican 200 day plan which was to beginning on inauguration day, repeal and replace obama care and reform the entire tax code by august recess is in peril. Laura . The one thing thats hard to ignore this weekend and all week is whats happening on twitter. How is President Trump responding to critics of his tweeting habits . Hes saying hes not going to do anything differently laura and hes not going to stop tweeting because its worked for him when it mattered the most. So on twitter, at real donald trump wrote this today he said the fake and fraudulent news media is working hard to convince republicans and others i should not use social media, but remember, i won the 2016 election with interviews, speeches, and social media. I had to beat hashtag fake news and did. We will continue to win. The president also sent parts of his spent parts of his morning today starting the long weekend tweeting he thinks there could be a corporate level conspiracy among media moguls basically to coordinate unfair coverage of his administration. Writing to that end, again, tonight im thinking about changing the name hashtag fake news cnn to hashtag broad news cnn. The white house did say this week that when the president is hit, he hits back harder. It looks like thats whats playing out on his twitter feed tonight and he just in the last few minutes issued a broad defense of the way that he is using this social media tool. He wrote this my use of social media is not president ial. It is modern day president ial. Make America Great again. So again, he had Great Success as a candidate operating like this on social media. He has no intention based on what he has said in the last hour of changing anything that hes doing. Laura . All right. Peter doocy, thank you very much for that report from new jersey tonight. And the fate of obama care is the focus of Fox News Sunday tomorrow. Thats what chief White House Correspondent john roberts in for Chris Wallace talking to Kentucky Republican paul who favors scrapping obama care completely and West Virginia democrat joe manchin who says hes willing to negotiate on repairing obama care, not repealing it. Fox news sunday tomorrow check your local listings. More than two dozen states pushing back against the white house after an unprecedented request for the personal information of voters. Now its all part of the Administrations Commission on fraud. Democrats say its really an effort to sup press votes. Suppress votes something Huckabee Sanders denies. I think thats mostly a political stunt. Were asking this is a commission thats asking for publicly available data and the fact that these governors wouldnt be willing to turn that over, this is something thats been part of the commissions discussion which has bipartisan support and none of the members raised any concern whatsoever. Weve got Garrett Tenney live in washington on this one. Garrett, why are these states refusing to provide voter information . Well, there are ten states that have already said they wont be providing any information to the president s commission, and many of those are led by democrats like Virginia GovernorTerry Mcauliffe who believes the investigation into voter fraud is a bit of a ruse saying quote at best this commission was set up as a pretext to validate Donald Trumps alternative election facts and at worse is a tool to commit large scale voter suppression. California secretary of state issued a statement saying in part californias participation would only serve to legitimize the false and already debunked claims of massive voter fraud made by the president. Other states, though, have said their privacy laws prevent them from sharing voter information. Mississippi secretary of state put it a bit more bluntly saying once he receives the request, quote, my reply would be they can go jump in the gulf of mexico and mississippi is great state to launch from. There are 26 states so far, though, which have said they will provide some of the information thats been requested. 14 others have asked for more details on what the commission is looking for and what it plans to do with that information. Laura . You know, garrett, were talking about the personal information of more than 100 Million People. So why does the commission need those records . Thats a lot of information. Yeah, certainly is. You have to remember, President Trump created this commission because he believes that there was widespread voter fraud in last years election and that those illegal votes prevented him from winning the popular vote. Theres been little evidence to suggest that that is the case, but this commissions goal is to find out how widespread of a problem voter fraud really is. One of the things they hope to do with this voter information from the states is to compare it with federal records of Foreign Residents and undocumented immigrants to see if they can identify some of those who may have voted illegally. One thing thats never been done thats very important is the federal government knows the names of more than 15 million aliens who are living in the United States. In fact, its closer to more than 20 million. The individuals are here on green cards or on temporary visas but the states have never been permitted to see how many of those aliens have registered to vote in my state. The number is likely to be very high. If states refuse to provide that information though those numbers will be hard to know. The commission has said they will work with whatever information they will be able to get from the states. One member admitted if fewer than half cooperate, it will make their job much more difficult. Laura . Garrett tenney for us live in washington tonight. Thank you very much. And right now President Trumps opponents taking on a new strategy, questioning his mental health. That plus a barrage of gunfire injuring at least 28 people inside a nightclub. What police say might have sparked that violence. That and more still ahead on the fox report. This is a story about mail and packages. And its also a story about people and while we make more ecommerce deliveries to homes than anyone else in the country, we never forget. A small number of democrats calling for a panel on President Trumps mental health. The draft legislation is slowly gaining support, but faces long odds in the republican controlled house. Ellison barber has the story. A maryland democrat is trying to increase support for a bill he drafted a couple of months ago. It would establish a panel to determine whether or not the president is fit to serve. The representatives bill headed to committee in may. At the time he said 20 democratic lawmakers signed on as cosponsors. That number is increasing slightly. Something is deeply wrong at the white house and we hope whoever is in control over there can get on top of it and pull back from this terrible situation. On thursday, the same day the president tweeted about msnbcs reporters georgia congressman hank johnson added his name to the list of cosponsors. They argue section 4 of the 25th amendment gives congress the power to set up a permanent body to decide whether or not the president is able to perform the responsibilities of the office. He wants to create a quote independent nonpartisan body known as the oversite commission on president ial capacity for this president and future ones. I think this is a matter of fundamental National Security which is why the framers of the 25th amendment put it in. We have got to make sure that we have a president who is able faithfully to discharge the duties of office. Trump supporters say it is nonsense. 63 Million People voted for donald trump to come and change washington and what they hate is that thats exactly what hes doing. They will do anything they can to try and stop him from being successful. It is like the left cant seem to remember that the election is over. The people have spoken. Donald trump is actually trying to move forward these policies that individuals in blue states actually supported a bill needs 218 yes votes to pass the house. The proposal still has a very long way to go. Laura . Laura all right, ellison barber for us. Thank you. Now the latest on that nightclub shooting that injured 28 people in little rock, arkansas. Police revealing that the incident may be gang related. It comes as the city grapples with escalating violence including a dozen driveby shootings over the last nine days. Little rocks mayor insisting the city can turn things around. People in organizations, we have people in our churches that are helping, reaching out, trying to provide an opportunity for young people to go in the right direction instead of the wrong direction, offering mentoring services and others. I know that they are as frustrated as i am that the resources, the time, the money, the coordination are not yet yielding the results that we want. But we must press on. We must continue to press forward as a community. This is a community problem, and it is a Community Issue that we can solve. Laura molly line has the latest on this. Molly, any fatalities here . 28 people shot. Yeah, the stunning thing here is that 25 people suffered gunshot wounds. You mentioned there were 3 others that were also injured in the wake of this 11second bullet exchange. And no one was killed. Really incredible. There are two people that are in critical condition, but everyone is expected to survive. And the hunt for suspects is active. A video showed the horrific scene. A nightclub in downtown little rock arkansas. Investigators believe multiple people opened fire inside that packed venue early saturday morning. The burst of gunfire coming during a short pause in the entertainment. During an afternoon press conference, it was revealed that some members of the headlining group the rapper hiphop group out of memphis had tried to enter the building earlier in the evening, one was carrying a weapon. Officers stationed at the venue attempted to stop him, but according to Little Rock Police chief, its believed that that individual later found an alternate entrance. The chief did not say if that weapon or that person was in any way involved in the violence. Investigators believe that the multiple shooting was a result of a dispute between club goers, possibly gangrelated, and had nothing to do with terrorism. This does appear as the mayor alluded to to be a continuation of disputes from some of our local groups that have been disputing that you have seen some of the things playing out in our streets that have resulted in driveby shootings and other shooting victims of few of which we have warrants for arrest. Crime scene technicians have been working together to gather evidence. Thus far no word of any arrests. Theres nobody in custody yet. There are obviously probably a lot of cameras. The city is cracking down hard everywhere, especially at this venue; right . Yes, they are going after the venue, this nightclub. In fact they are working on shutting this down. The mayor is taking very swift action. Listen. The the lounge, the abc has suspended the Liquor License effective today. The city is going to be placing this property in our criminal abatement program, and we will be shutting this location down. Yeah, the shooting capped a recent spate of Violence Police had responded to roughly a dozen driveby shootings in a little over a week. Laura. Laura thank you so much for that update and report. Incredible again that nobody has died in this. Thank you for that update. A new york doctor shot and killed a hospital while covering one of her coworkers shifts and police say the gunman was another doctor who was upset after being fired years before. Investigators say dr. Henry bellow walked into the bronx lebanon hospital with an Assault Rifle tucked under his white lab coat. Fox news anchor tagged along for a ride to see how they keep us all safe. The scramble alarms go off almost daily, signifying an unidentified or unresponsive plane heading toward the capitol. Our perspective every time it goes off and we scramble is that a real world event just like it was on 9 11, weve done more than 5,000 since 9 11. And no fail means were now depending our nations borders and our way of life, our family. Weekly pilots of the 113th Air National Guard practice going from simply hanging out to airborne in a matter of minutes. In a post9 11 world, the planes are ready for combat. Armed with air to air missiles. Since 9 11, we know the threat is very different than what it was before. The failure of imagination is probably the thing were most worried about as evidenced on 9 11. We flew along on a Training Mission defending washington from a sneak air attack and then intercepting threatening aircraft. We flew well above out past the maryland shore. At that speed, they can protect from new jersey to North Carolina in a matter of minutes. Our pilot captain matt morris explained things once we were on the ground. Today were actually practicing a defensive counterair mission. If theres a threat to washington, d. C. , you guys are the first eyes and ears . Often times we are definitely the first there. Today he and three of his wing men were tasked to break through the defense against the blue team, four other guard pilots hunting them. They had a point on the ground that they wanted to protect, and so they went out to protect that point just like we would do to protect the National Capitol region. We had other plans. At 575 miles per hour, just 2,000 feet above the water. You and i got through; right . We did get through. Senators better enjoy their holiday break because theres a lot of work on the healthcare stacking up back at the office. Now some lawmakers want to cancel their next recess to tackle their priorities on the agenda. Plus iraqi troops push further into mosul inching closer to liberating the city from the grip of isis. But tens of thousands of civilians are still in danger as fighti laura im laura ingle and this is the fox report. It is the bottom of the hour. If you are just joining us, were about an hour away from President Trumps remarks at the celebrate freedom rally. Thats going to be at the Kennedy Center for the performing arts in washington. The president is traveling back to d. C. From his new Jersey Golf Club for this speech which is expected to pay tribute to our nations veterans on this 4th of july weekend. The rally is organized by the evangelical First Baptist dallas. Meantime the president is weighing in again on healthcare now suggesting lawmakers toss obama care out now and replace it later. Senators will resume their healthcare negotiations after their july 4th break. Now a group of ten republican senators have signed on to a letter to leader mitch mick continue asking to cancel Mitch Mcconnell asking them to cancel or shorten the august recess to work on agenda items. Senator mcconnells office hasnt offered a response to that request, not yet. Iraqi forces are working to flush out the last of isis in mosul. Iraqs second largest city, has been under occupation by the terror group for three years. Civilians are fleeing even as gunshots and explosions ring out around them. The u. N. Warns that the intense and concentrated warfare puts the tens of thousands of civilians still there in even greater danger. We have more from our Mideast Bureau in jerusalem. Laura, while iraqi Prime Minister declared victory over isis thursday and an end to the caliphate, iraqi troops are still trying to retake several key districts in mosuls old city as tens of thousands of civilians remain caught in the cross fire. An estimated 2 to 3, possibly even 400 isis militants remain holed up in the city center with men, women and children still trying to escape the violence, many used as human shields by isis. This woman said her family fled from hunger and experienced all kinds of injustice and suffering in the hands of isis. The fight for mosul has lasted several months. This week iraqi troops pushed deeper into mosuls old city and as they did isis blew up a symbolic mosque where baghdadi declared himself isiss leader in 2014. The u. S. Armies on the ground helping to advise iraqi troops and share intelligence information. A colonel said isis put together a formidable defense. The Iraqi Security forces have doggedly continued to attack. Over the last 120 days on the west side of the city they have gotten to the point where they have isis into its final pocket of defense and they are stepping on its throat and ready to finish them off. Thats playing out behind us. As the battle for mosul continues, the fight for iraq and syria also rages on. U. S. Backed Syrian Forces have surrounded isiss selfproclaimed capital there but militants launched a counteroffensive yesterday pushing back Syrian Forces and regaining control of a key industrial district. If the battle for mosul is any indication then the fight to retake another city may take several more week ifs not months. Weeks if not months. Laura . Thank you. President trumps revised travel ban facing new legal challenges after taking effect this week after the state of hawaii filing an emergency motion. It wants clarification on whether the federal government violated u. S. Supreme Court Instructions in defining whose affected by the ban. This comes after extended family members from six targeted nations like grandparents were left off the list of those allowed entry into the u. S. Weve got will carr on this. Hes got more from los angeles airport known as lax. Whats next in the legal battle against this travel ban . Well, laura, most likely a federal judge will rule on hawaiis emergency motion. Now, its important to point out that that federal judge is the same judge who issued a scathing rebuke of the initial travel ban back in march. Now, the difference now, though, is that this version of the ban is scaled down. Much more watered down than the initial travel ban. Supreme court partially reinstated the revised ban on monday. The court will make a final determination on the ban later this year. In the meantime, though, six countries are impacted right now. Iran, libya, sudan, syria and yemen, but there are exceptions for travelers who have bona fide ties to the United States, but right now that does not include extended family members. What does the u. S. Government have against grandmothers . Why is it that those people are not allowed to come into the country . You know, what National Security initiative are we thinking about . Supreme court will hear arguments on the travel ban this fall. Laura . Laura all right, well, so how is the administration reacting after the Supreme Court ruling this week . Well, they are optimistic. You will remember that the initial ban sparked protests at airports across the country. The ban thats in effect now has really only had a handful of protesters show up over the past couple of days. Now the administration has maintained all along that this is about keeping americans safe, and that it needs time to figure out exactly who is trying to get into our country, especially after the rash of attacks that we have seen recently in europe. Take a listen to Governor Scott walker. Those who po o pose the president oppose the president tried to claim this is some religious test. Thats ridiculous. If that was the case every muslim based country in the world would be prohibited for letting people in. This is about setting a standard that goes back to the Previous Administration that countries who are not going to cooperate with the United States to let us know who is coming in from those countries particularly refugees. Only appropriate when we look at the horrific things that have happened in europe and other places around the world that we want to know who is coming in. Important to point out that people with valid visas or green cards are not impacted by the ban thats in place right now. Laura . Laura all right, will carr for us live at lax. Things looking a little different than when i was reporting at jfk at the beginning of the year, when we went through this the first time. Thank you very much for that report. You bet. Well, it wouldnt be the 4th of july weekend without the pride of the american sky. Were talking about the blue angels. The groups thrilling crowds at the new york air show and foxs rob schmidt went along for the ride. All right. Squeeze those legs. Ready . Hit it. Hows that . Relax. Take a look behind you. Oh, man i could not wait to ride along with the Navy Blue Angels ahead of this weekends new york air show. The blue angels are the second oldest flying team in the world, formed in 1946 right after world war ii. Their mission to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States navy and marine corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service. They started with and now fly fa18 horn effort hornets that have been retired but maintained. They keep a gruelling schedule, fly in more than 70 shows at 34 locations throughout the United States. My pilot wanted to show me just what these gorgeous blue multimillion dollars birds can do and trust me, they are flexible. Ready . Hit it. Pretty cool, huh . And fast. Capable of speeds well over the speed of sound. Check this out. Here it comes. Theres the sound barrier right there. Hit 1. 0. We werent allowed to break the sound barrier because the lieutenant didnt want to break the windows on the houses below us in up state new york but we did some tricks that about fried my brain like a backwards roller coaster loop. I can see the shadow on the ground. Flying completely vertical headed straight into space. Were going right into the sun right there is straight up. Couple little rolls. This is bonkers oh my gosh i dont even know which way is up. Then it was time to experience some harsh gravitational force, gs as they call them basically pressure on the body done by turning hard by moving really fast. Are you ready . Im ready. Squeeze those legs. Ready. Hit it . 7. 7 times the weight of gravity on my body. I felt the blood drain from my brain, lost my vision but snapped back to reality before passing out. How are you doing . Im okay. Whoa nice work. I almost blackedout. Thankfully just about 30 seconds later, we were on the ground. Coolest thing i have ever done. Hands down. An experience of a lifetime with a new appreciation for these elite pilots. It is hard work. I like to tell everyone we are the professional athletes of what we do. So we owe it to our country, to the fans that are out here watching us to be able to do the most precise and best show that we can give them. Laura so cool. Rob schmidt reporting there. Thank you very much. Blue angel ifs you are listening, i want blue angels if you are listening, i want to be on the next ride if theres a list. A group of military veterans caught between a rock and a hard place as they fight to keep an icon alive on the new jersey river. It is a high speed submarine from world war ii that used to be the centerpiece of a naval museum. Its been eroding in the mud of the river for decades. Now a new Development Project could put the vessels future in jeopardy. Its been a beloved attraction of the naval museum in new jersey since 1973. Parked along the shore of the river, the 312 foot long world war ii era vessel has served as a Floating Museum operated by a group of loyal veterans from the submarine Memorial Association. Theres also a small museum on shore. New owners of the property, though, have plans to redevelop the area and have served an eviction notice creating a troubling challenge for the museum and the sub. So physically yes we can move. We dont have a place right now to move to. As far as the submarine, unless somebody comes up with something we havent heard already as to how you can move it from the river here to some other place, its going to stay in the river. The river is now filled with thick silt and only 3 feet deep at low tide. Theres no way to float the sub and it wouldnt fit under the bridges nearby anymore. Another sticking point, in 2012, Hurricane Sandy demolished the pier, which held the plank to the ship making it inaccessible to the public. While this massive submarine doesnt technically have to go under the eviction notice, some say it should. And those of the submarine Memorial Association wants it to stay and be preserved, others say thats a proposal that doesnt hold water. Environmentalists say the only way to get the sub out of the river is to take it apart piece by piece. Youre saying the only real way to deal with the problem is to cut it up . Im afraid so. Im afraid it is, you know, thats the only way it is going to ever get out of here. Its not floating. You know, we dont have enough you know, we dont have enough lift power to pull this thing out of the mud and fly it over all the obstructions, you know, so you know, youve got to look at it realistically. Those who run the museum say they have a vision and have even drawn up plans to help keep it open and operating. It is going to take money and resources they dont have. Why should Something Like this, this part of history go away . It doesnt have to. Laura it is a really cool site to see. To learn more, to donate to the efforts to keep it as a working museum, you can go to their go fund me page. Go fund me. Com. Check it out. Farther to the south, thunderstorms just beginning to maybe get on the back side of new york city. But we have seen some heavy rain here in the last hour or so. Then i stretch you farther to the south, and this frontal boundary is just going to drape across the southeast at this point. So were seeing popup thunderstorms through the Carolina Piedmont all the way stretching off towards arkansas and back towards texas. Unfortunately that will be lingering there for a while. This is all along a cold front. That will shift. Time stamps up in the top corner. I do think we dry off in northeast as we head into sunday. Unfortunately, though, is that cold front continues to stretch back across the southeast. We will be talking about rain there for the next couple of days, into your sunday, unfortunately into your monday and i know a lot of folks have the long weekend. Otherwise, were going to be warming up, feeling like summer for this 4th of july holiday. These were your highs today. Several spots saw temperatures in the 90s. Take you into sunday, you really see the heat stretching farther to the north into monday, into tuesday. Were talking about a lot of heat piling up here in the center of the country. You are going to need that sun screen for all those folks out there barbecuing in the next few days sounds good. Even if it does rain, you can barbecue in the rain. Just use a little popup tent. He was one of the first to bring american muscle into a sport that originated in japan and has been a main stay on the formula drift circuit since it came to the u. S. In 2004 with cars locked in tire burning battles sideways at high speeds just inches from each other and the wall. Now to nashville where the love of Country Music is a legacy to be celebrated. If you visit a great place to start your journey, its at the Country Music hall of fame. Heres a sneak peek. In 1925, a little Radio Station called 650 a. M. Wsm, the home of the grand ole opry began in 1925. By 1943 the audiences were so big that they needed a beautiful venue that could house the fans. That became the auditorium formerly known as the Union Gospel Tabernacle but people like eddie arnold, hank williams, johnny cash, patsy cline, dolly parton they all made to it the grand ole opry stage and thats what put nashville on the map musically was that radio show. Here we are in the exhibit, my favorite exhibit in the museum. When bob di land came to nashville dylan came to nashville in 1966 to record his double album blonde on blonde he told the world that nashville was a place to visit, not just country fans, but rock and roll people started coming in here from england and california and everywhere in between. Johnny cash had a tv show filmed live in 1969. Bob dylan and Joanie Mitchell were his first guests. Johnny cash wanted to tell the world that bob dylan had something to say. And their friendship carried on until johnnys death. Here we have the handwritten lyrics to jolene from the great dolly parton. Dolly parton was writing songs in nashville at the age of 14. Commuting back and forth from tennessee with her uncle bill. She officially moved to nashville in 1964 when she was 18 years old. By 1967, dolly was on the tv show and thats where america really got to know dolly parton. And this particular suit she wore when she was finally inducted as a member of the grand ole opry in 1969. These are the pieces that make this museum so special. Laura and a very special thanks to the Country Music hall of fame for that tour. Hard for neighbors to ignore this elephant in the room. This gal taking a casual stroll through a neighborhood after cutting loose from a barn and she had an accomplice. After a dvt blood clot. I sure had a lot on my mind. My 30year marriage. My 3month old business. Plus. What if this happened again . I was given warfarin in the hospital, but wondered, was this the best treatment for me . So i made a point to talk to my doctor. He told me about eliquis. Eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots and reduces the risk of them happening again. Not only does eliquis treat dvt and pe blood clots. Eliquis also had significantly less major bleeding than the standard treatment. Eliquis had both. And that turned around my thinking. Dont stop eliquis unless your doctor tells you to. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. If you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical. Both made eliquis right for me. Ask your doctor if switching to eliquis is right for you. Julie residents in one wisconsin neighborhood waking up to this. An elephant in their front yard.
