President trumps refusal to accept the results of the election as his legal team fights on. Does the president have a case . Well ask former independent counsel ken starr and harvard or law professor lawrence tribe. Plus, president obama settles scores in his new book. Well ask our sunday panel about the former president s thoughts on the rise of donald trump. And our power player of the week, remembering game show legend alex trebek and the fun we had on jeopardy. Do you dumb it down for celeb fews . Celebrities . All right now on Fox News Sunday. Chris and hello again from fox news in washington. The coronavirus is coming back with a vengeance. With every state in the nation now reporting increases, president elect biden has urged President Trump to do more to confront the crisis, calling the federal response woefully lacking. On friday mr. Trump broke his recent silence on the a pandemic to promote progress on a demonstrations continued into the night as far right and far left groups clashed, after a week hiatus from public remarks on friday the president announced a vaccine would be available to the majority of americans by april, much sooner for those in need. It will be distributed to frontline workers, the elderly and high risk americans immediately, itll be in a matter of weeks, very much ahead of schedule. The announcement comes as Washington Post reports 13 130 Service Agents assigned to the president have contracted covid19 or are quarantining as a result of exposure. On saturday President Trump took another crack at a covid relief bill as infections rise nationwide. At his time in the white house appears near and end. The Trump Campaign continues to file legal challenges, none have made a difference when it comes to the election outcome. Chris david spunt reporting from the white house, thank you. Now lets bring in Jacqui Heinrich in wilmington. Reporter president elect joe biden has more than four decades worth of friends in washington lining up for jobs it is Incoming Administration in the docking has begun, more than a week after his projected when the General Services a Administration Still had the unlocked access to Fund Agencies and information needed to reach full speed. Are you closer to making a decision. Reporter expectations are rising for president elect biden to announce the secretary of state and sources tell fox news former National Security advisor susan rice is being pushed by former president barack obama, already vetted of the vp shortlist brings Institutional Knowledge and clearances that could blunt the impact of the delayed transition but she warned of growing peril in a saturday oped writing without access to critical threat information no incoming team can counter what it cant see comi coming. She may face a confirmation hurdle in the senate and has competition and former deputy under debbie terry of state tony blanketed william burns, and chris coons is actively dying for the job. Team biden is foot tapping over foot time with federal agencies about coronavirus especially with respect to testing and Vaccine Distribution plans, they are considering legal action if things do not change soon. Were not interested in having a food fight with the gsa administrator or anyone really. Reporter the Transition Team says there on schedule chipping away at 4000 appointed roles to fill but this week were opening some application to everyday americans. Chris thank you, joining us now doctor vivek murthy former Surgeon General and cochair of the biden transition, covid task force, doctor, the latest numbers on the covid surge are deeply alarming, lets take a look more than 180,000 new cases just on friday that is up 76 over the past two weeks, more than 68000 people in hospitals and more than 1400 deaths friday. What is going on, what is causing this really troubling surge . You are right, were at an alarming pace of this pandemic and these are staggering numbers, we never really thought we would see in terms of cases and hospitalizations, not to mention the overall death toll, what is happening, we never really got our caseload down to a level that was manageable in the spring and we didnt actually have the testing and Contact Tracing to prevent subsequent rises in infection but what is happening in particular with winter as people move indoors this is the perfect set up for the virus because we know it is easier to spread indoors and outdoors but one last component which is important is pandemic fatigue, people are tired we have been at the pandemic for many months and i get that, but part of the fatigue people are letting others into their bubble and getting together for in person dinner parties and game nights and Public Health are tracing cases back to these gatherings, you put this all together into the explosive spread that we have. Chris what is the Trump Administration doing wrong at this point given a lot of this seems to be baked into the cake and what specifically, i mean specifically will the biden a administration do better . There are a few things to think about in addressing the current search, one thing i want to emphasize, when you get to numbers like this the most immediate thing that we can do to reduce the spread lies in our behavior and the choices that we make, it turns out wearing masks, keeping her distance from others, washing our hands, these seem almost too simple, very powerful and reducing the spread, what Vice President elect biden has talked about in terms of his plan what he wants to do differently and emphasize for day one is a plan that focuses on expanding our Testing Capacity so we could do better surveillance with diagnostic and increase our Contact Tracing so we can contain infection once we find it. He wants to increase the production of ppe or protective equipment for healthcare workers with masks and gloves when they need it, he wants to put clear guidance together, evidencebased guidance of the schools and businesses and faith organizations, sports leagues and families to operate safely. I should say one more important thing, none of this is going to be possible if we do not rebuild public trust. That is the most import foundation. When you do that by communicating honestly by leading with science and scientists in the face of the pandemic and ultimately by delivering a result. Chris is the delay in the transition because President Trump is contesting the electi election, is that delay hurting the ability of the Biden Administration to take over on january 20 in dealing with the covid pandemic . It is very important for the transition to be able to talk to with the existing administrati administration. The reason is, there are thousands and thousands of career Civil Servants and political appointees who have been working very hard on this pandemic for many months now, they have plans that are in process, data to be collected at the public that does not always have access and to see that data in the plans will help us put together the best possible product in the end. Those are critical, you want to get them started as soon as possible and theres a lot of work to do now even though we dont have access to the department but we will need that as soon as possible to make this work well. Chris one of the Big Questions is whether the country is going to have to engage in another lockdown, one of your colleagues on the covid task force, the Biden Covid Task force talked about a possible 4 6 Week National lockdown and President Trump responded to that, take a look. We can pay people to lose their job, we can pay small businesses, we can take care city, state and county governments, this administration will not go to a lockdown, hopefully whatever happens in the future, whoever knows which administration adobe, time will tell but i tell you this administration will not go to a lockdown. Chris president elect biden says hes not thinking of a National Lockdown, one of your colleagues on the Task Force Said this weekend youre thinking not even on or off switch but a dimmer. Having said that the governor of new mexico issued a two week stay at home measure, the governor of oregon is talking about a partial two week lockdown, can you honestly say if things get bad enough are we going to need a National Lockdown . That is a measure of last resort. The way that we think about lockdowns is different now than it was in the spring, in the spring we did not know a lot about covid, we responded with an onoff switch, we just shut things down because we did not know exactly how this is spreading and where it was spreading. But we learned a lot more sense them, its a better way to think about the safety restrictions is more the data we turn up and down depending on severity and that is the key applying these restrictions judiciously imprecisely, if you look at new york city for example there applying broad restrictions everywhere but looking at specific zip codes to see where the outbreak is severe. What we need and the reason you see so much variation in what states are doing we dont have a National Alert system guided by the best possible evidence that can help states and localities determine when to dial up and down the restrictions and we also dont have adequate resources for them to put these restrictions in place, mainly schools for example which dont have resources with class sizes and hire more teachers and improved ventilation. If we lockdown the entire country without targeting our efforts, we will exacerbate the pandemipandemic fatigue, her jon the economy, shut down schools and hurt the education of our children. We got approach at a scalpel rather than the blunt force of an ax. Chris then there is the issue of the vaccine which seems to be making remarkable progress, President Trump talked on friday about getting in and out as quickly as possible starting perhaps in december but then he talked about Governor Cuomo of new york who said he wants to check any vaccine the Trump Administration delivers. Take a look. He does not trust the fact that its this white house, this administration so we will not be delivering to new york until we have authorization to do so. Chris what do you think of President Trumps statements singling out new york for a delay in the vaccine and how does the biden Transition Administration with getting out the vaccine in dealing with the issue of peoples concern about the safety and reliability of getting vaccinated . You are bringing up one of the most challenging parts of this Pandemic Response which is how to deliver the vaccine, we vaccinated americans for many years in our country but the campaign we will have to build to vaccinate enough people to create heard immunit immunity we the most Vicious Campaign in our countrys history. Doing that requires people to trust the vaccine is safe and effective and we know from recent polls that a significant number of people are worried in the process of developing the vaccine may have been politicized. Now the onus is on us to be transparent and help them understand what the science says having experts reviewed the data and making it ready available so people outside the government can review it. That is what we will have to do in the way that we allocate this vaccine has to be determined on this need, that and that alone, we cannot afford to let politics creep in to decisions we make around the vaccine otherwise we will put lives at stake. Chris doctor vivek murthy, we will be tracking the work of your task force. Thank you so much, it is good to be with you today. Chris up next we will discuss President Trumps legal fight to contest the 2020 election with two leading experts on constitutional law, does the president have a case . Who is usaa made for . Chris good evening i am jon scott and we are breaking into Fox News Sunday to bring you the historic launch of the resilience spacecraft from Kennedy Space center in Cape Canaveral florida, the Space Rocket Launch will be the firstever fully crude commercial spaceflight, the craft will carry three american astronauts and one japanese astronaut to the International Space station for what is expected to be a sixmonth stay. Vice president mike pence is on hand to watch as america cements its return to space travel. Bill keating is live at Kennedy Space center where the launch is seven minutes away. Reporter things are looking really good and probable for this launch, the weather has not only cooperated, it has improved from earlier today so the meteorologist with the airport station and nasa now given the likelihood of whether cooperating for this launch at 7 27 p. M. An 80 chance of success, on the launchpad there just about finished loading the fuel and oxygen into the two stages of the falcon 9 rocket on top of which of course is the crude dragon capsule which they named resilience for this mission and commemoration of all of the problems around the world that 2020 has brought the coronavirus pandemic, the economic hardships as well as other conditions in other countries. An upbeat and positive nickname for this capsule for this mission, blastoff set for 7 27 p. M. Eastern time, that is just about a few minutes from now and on board the spacecraft is a fourman astronaut crew and one woman, three in one, a Mission Specialist shannon walker, victor glover, mike hopkins and Soichi Noguchi from the japanese space agency, this will be his third flight into space in his third vehicle, he flew in the Space Shuttle, one in the russian capsule and now he gets to try out the brandnew space crew dragon capsule. Once the crew gets to the space station, it will take about 27 hours hurtling through space before getting there to the hatch and locking in around 11 00 p. M. Monday night eastern time, once inside they will all serve a sixmonth stint doing research and Critical Science and this will also mark a historic moment for nasa, this will be the very first time that a black astronaut has served in mission inside the space station that being victor glover, black astronauts have flown from florida into space before but those were on Space Shuttles which never actually made it all the way to the space station. One small issue after they close the hatch an hour or so ago, they noticed once they sealed the hatch shut, the pressure inside the capsule dropped a little bit and they thought they may have had a leak, what they did they reopen the hatch, wipe down the seal, look for foreign objects, troubleshot everything that they could, they reshot the hatch in the seal seemed snug that the pressure was inside study so that setback was solved and were looking at 0 technical issues being reported right now by space and nasa. The excitement is building, you can see the puffs of white smoke coming off of the rockets deck, that is oxygen turning from liquid oxygen with his extremely cold into gas as it slowly leaks out as they continue to put more in their and the humidity down here in florida makes it look more impressive. Everything is looking going right now and were all set. Jon we are four minutes away, less than, fill keating in Cape Canaveral for the. Thank you. Joining me now former nasa astronaut tom jones, are you excited as the rest of the nation right now . It is been a long way to get the u. S. Launch capability back where it should be in Cape Canaveral so weve been relying for almost ten years on russian transports in here with the commercial launch the first operational launch of the crew dragon, nasa is back into ensuring its own capabilities to get to the space station and next year we will be joined by the starliner capsule from boeing, nasa will have two ways to get the astronauts from the space station and share rights with the russians occasionally to keep familiarity on both sides but its great to have her launch capability back to go beyond to the moon and mars eventually. Jon as a kid i grew up watching mercury and gemini and Apollo Missions and then i think during the Obama Administration it was announced that nasa was going to stop flying missions to space, i thought this is crazy, were the country that when the space race but has the wisdom of that moon now that we have two commercial companies not able to only send rockets in space but reuse them . Today this is really good news that we have one Operational Company helping nasa and we will have another one on board and maybe a third down the line in 2020. But its been way too long of a wait, we exposed ourselves for the last nine years to a lot of risk by not having an ability to get up there ourselves, if anything serious had gone wrong with the space station and without a Space Shuttle operational we would not of been able to respond and might of lost 100 billiondollar investment in the space station, its great to have her own capability back because the limitation we could never rely on that for the complete sweep of repairs and maintenance would like to do the space station. Jon that is a sleek looking dragon capsule, its about ready to go in space, i cannot think how much Different Things look, even the spacesuits these days are much more sleek and modern looking then when they were im sure when you flew on the shuttle. Thats right where the 21st century even though i flew the 21st century on the shuttle its been a whole generation advance in technology. Its great to see the modern Electronics Inside the capsule that are way far advanced in the shuttle and the new crew support systems, escape systems all much better than the shuttle could offer us. Jon astronaut tom jones, thank you. We are going to listen in, the space crew dragon spacecraft about ready to launch from the Kennedy Space center in Cape Canaveral florida, originally scheduled for last night but bad weather scrubbed that attempt all system looks like a go so far from what we can tell, we should be 30 seconds away from liftoff, lets listen in. A minute and 20 seconds until liftoff today. As you can hear the sounds like Soichi Noguchi said, the vehicle is alive. Coming up in ten seconds we will look to hear that dragon is in countdown and falcon 9 is in startup. Countdown. Falcon 9 is in startup now controlled. 50 seconds until liftoff, the flight termination. Jason go for lunch. Space is resilient, roger go. Go for launch at 37 seconds the space station flying over Kennedy Space center. Crew dragon. 20 seconds to liftoff. 15 seconds. Nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, 0. Liftoff. When we explore as one for all. Thats what we want to hear it is phenomenal. Dragon and falcon 9, stage one is preparing to settle down in preparation for max q, pressure. The call for throttle down. It continues to be phenomenal for the vehicle traveling at 26. Falcon 9. Jon we have lift off of the space crew dragon spacecraft from the Kennedy Space center, four astronauts on board headed to the International Space station for a sixmonth stay, the first crew rotation flight on a u. S. Spacecraft. The astronaut named their dragon capsule resilience given all the challenges of 2020. There is Vice President mike pence who is representing the white house as that ship heads to the heavens. Lets bring back tom jones, former nasa astronaut. That thing just jumped off the launchpad, is that the improvement in rocket boosters, isabella lighter ship, why does it seem to get off the ground so much faster. The falcon 9 has 1. 7 Million Pounds of thrust, the shuttle weighed a lot more, there are about equal in terms of acceleration and i imagine a pilot mike glover, hes having a heck of it experience as a rockets through the first stage in the first stage will be md of oxidizer in ship over to the second stage and try to recover the first stage on a barge on the florida coast. A little different from the shuttle we used to recover by parachute, this booster lands tail first. Jon before that they need good weather off the coast, they cannot have 8foot waves, that is part of the weather study that they need to do ahead of the launch is to make sure that the barge is not going to be rocking and rolling when the first stage comes back and lands on it. That is right, tripod legs, cannot have too much see motion from the barge when the falcon 9 touches down, we will cross our fingers that that happens in the next few minutes, second stage is lit up the crew of four is well underway writing the second stage with a single engine and they will be in orbit and eight half minutes total flight time, just about what the shuttle did. Jon its amazing to see these pictures that you can watch live looking back down the rocket booster toward the first stage an hour watching the second stage, the kind of thing that you did not have in the nasa era at least apollo and so forth. There is a reason for all the great camera views, that is engineering we want to see the performance of the rocket engi engine, any debris that comes off the booster that was important during the final ten years of the shuttle flight to look for any debris impacts on the shuttle orbiter. You want as much information as you can, now the availability of these cameras that came along in the 1990s, we can see a lot of advantage points around the rocket and to watch a second stage performance is very dramatic and a night launch like this to the station and about 27 hours, a little over a day we will see great approach shots of the space station. Jon hi those wondering whats n the dark screen on the left, the upper left corner you are seeing to see the first stage disappe disappear, it drifted out of sight, that is the first stage falling back to earth and as it falls eventually they will relight the rocket engine and try to bring it back safely on board the barge and bring it to a safe landing and ultimately reuse if they can land safely on the barge that is off the coast of florida. The technology is absolutely amazing, so far this launch seems to be pictureperfect. Indeed it looks like the launch a crew would enjoy, to have made it through all the simulations that they have gone through where everything gets thrown at you by mission control, one malfunction after another and then a ride like this words ultra smooth and nothing going wrong, the computers are running so smoothly, such an exhilarating and relieved filling to be on your way without any emergencies. We had a smooth launch tonight. Jon 20 years, the International Space station has been occupied, it boggles the mind that that craft has been up there that long and continuously occupied. I was there in 2001 helping build the space station i stayed there for a week and the astronauts going to orbit tonight they will be working out of the same laboratory, the destiny laboratory, they have about another nine or ten years of life Left International partners have at least agreed to go through 2028, theres a lot of research to get from the station including Technology Test that will help us build an outpost on the moon and get our way onto mars. I hope we never see another time in history when humans are not living off the plane earth. Jon some of the research this crew intends to take involves growing crops in space i understand. They shifted over from a varieties of previous expeditions to carrying radishes to grow and they will get a taste of the crop that they grow but they will learn more about the right environment, the right kinds of environmental conditions for growing the optimum crop and you can scale this up from a small experiment the size of an oven on earth, if you can scale that up to greenhouse, it means very important things for making an expedition to mars or an outpost on the moon more likely because you can grow your own food and recycle Carbon Dioxide through the plant to produce oxygen. Jon they will take a look, as i understand, fungus or bacteria and whether its able to break apart some of the space to debris, meteorite, rock essentially perhaps being able to mind space rock . Thats an experiment called bio rock, there are microbes on earth that can break down minerals and produce a byproducts of their metabolism that can be economically useful, the idea you would take astroid due dirt and let the microbes go to work and you might get materials like where earth elements, variable economically on earth and you can expand the Resource Base for planet earth and the growth of its kind. Jon on the left we have the first stage the rocket booster initially lit up and launched the dragon off the launchpad at Cape Canaveral, it is now returning to earth the rocket engine is firing again but not an upward trajectory, it is dropping toward earth and that rock is firing to slow its approach to the barge that is off Cape Canaveral, they hope to landed on the barge and they done so successfully many, many times and hope to landed on the barge tonight and reuse it for another crew mission down the road. Once again, it looks like all systems are spectacular and the four astronauts on board, are they feeling the lack of gravity by now . There under acceleration from the second stage engine, the last few seconds, theyre subjected to four times the force of gravity at this point in from the previous crew doug hurley and bob inc. And recorded a lot of vibration in the second stage a lot more than their experience. You might see this engine shut down in the next few seconds. Jon right on cue, there goes. Chris that means there in orbit. Jon the space station was flying over Cape Canaveral, there, look at that, the booster engine, the first stage just landed on the barge, this mission by all accounts has to be considered a smashing success, they did have trouble with that technology in the early going but they seem to have perfected it and now they have their first stage back on the barge. I think the success rate is now above 80 it seems in this is economically valuable for spacex, they get to turn around the first stage in the nine valuable engines and they will fly the next Crew Missions next year once they refurbish his rocket. It drops the cost of the launch of the taxpayer gets a better deal the cost of transporting astronauts to space station goes down and at the same time gives them a chance to reexamine and make sure there was no problems, the reusability is a big plus in reliability over the longterm and lowering the cost and helps nasa spend more budget on returning to the moon getting out to the asteroids and mars. Jon were seen some of the items that they carry in the cockpit starting to float around in the live pictures from onboard the dragon capsule resilience. You can see the lack of gravity it looks like something out of a space movie, this is the real deal, live pictures coming from space, the second stage engine has shut down as tom jones just told us, the astronauts and everything around them are weightless. There in freefall, weightlessness, microgravity is another term and they will very gently start to unstrap in a few minutes, take off their space students and explore the confines of the capsule is not nearly as roomy as the Space Shuttle but roomy for the folks for the next 24 hours before they dock at the space station, chance to get a meal, sleep, clean up after being in the seas for summer hours and put on more comfortable close before they dock tomorrow. Jon is my understanding, this is the first fully crude mission, the compact remark astronauts into the capsule if they wanted to, they could put a crew of seven on board . That is true enough volume for seven people and you might think of that in case we have to conduct a rescue mission at the space station where you cope with a minimum crew and bring astronauts home and the extra seats. Also spacex, boeing, they would like to fly them on tourism flights in the near future, seven people might go up on an expedition maybe lasting a week or so to a commercial outpost or an Adventure Hotel if you will a resort in orbit. Jon sign me up. We just all the second stage detached. That one does not get reused or it does not go back to the barge, do they make any effort to retrieve it from the ocean . It is really tough because the second stage is going up 5 Miles Per Hour second so to slow that thing down from in space into the atmosphere you would need some kind of a landing system rocket or parachute, all the extra weight would subtract from the performance to propel the spacecraft the crew dragon into orbit, which are going up fast is hard to retrieve. Elon musk says he has concepts for second stage is down the road, we will have to see how successful he is at that. Jon tom jones, stand by if you would, lets check on the ground with phil keating, he has covered the launch at the Kennedy Space center, im sure the reaction is pretty giddy. Reporter due to coronavirus, nasa is not letting as many media representatives here on site as what would it typically been the case, the crowd sizes are a lot smaller than what you wouldve seen for previous launches. However, the folks did abrupt and applauds as the burning rocket capsule was shooting up into the pitch black dark night sky i have to say the launch was pretty the engine falcon engine into the launchpad into space in the first stage is burn through, the Second Rocket has burned through, it is detached on the capsule, the dragon is powering itself all the way to the space station and as you heard asked or not tom jones, my friend just mentioned coming up shortly they will take off their big and durable spacesuits and get into the comfortable close. Back in the test two demo flight back in the end of may a couple of hours after launching doug hurley and bob behnken in those astronauts took video which was sent back to retrieve live at the Johnson Space center showing them floating around and having a little fun and showing the dinosaur to contribute to the two young boys and it was pretty roomy in the back behind the seeds were two people, working to find out how roomy the four of them and the private Space Company has launched humans into space and a full crew of four astronauts and a couple of big events there, once they get to the space station itll be 11 0a long flight 27 hours and roughly two and half, three hours after they arrive that the hatch will open and they will emerge inside. Jon phil keating at Cape Canaveral florida, thank you very much. I cant help but notice those amazing touchscreens i had the pleasure of climbing with nasa astronaut jim lovell into the lunar lander and the keypad computer at the time in the little craft was designed to land on the moon essentially has a Computing Power of a calculator, the touch screens that the astronauts are using are just the thing of the future, absolutely amazing progress in the world of space. I am jon scott catch a new episode of life, liberty and lumen coming up 8 30 p. M. Eastern time, Fox News Sunday returns now. The president does not like to lose and never admits loss, officials no better are going along with this, they are humoring him in this fashion, it is one more step in delegitimizing, not just the incoming Biden Administration but democracy general. Chris barack obama beginning the tour to launches new book with sharp woods about the refusal of President Trump and Top Republicans to concede the 2020 election and were back with our panel. Donna what do you expect from barack obama on whats going to be a pretty big book to her in terms of subtle underscores with donald trump and in terms of Building Support for president elect biden. I think hes going to do the latter first, i think it will help joe biden heal the country to bring the country together, what he is saying in the book, areen challengers are deep, divisions are deep, our challenges but he remains hopeful in the next generation, i think its a very prophetic book, i dream about the audacity of hope, this is a roadmap to the future, the president is leading his own journey and American Journey into a narrative that shapes the america, the creed, the future, that is a a good read and im looking f forward to seeing everything in this book including the photos that im sure many of us willov be see, overall this is an opportunity to help reshape the dialogue about bringing the country together. Chris died, from what we seen there is core settling in obamas book, i want to read this excerpt, it was as if my very presence in the white house had triggered a deepseated panic with the natural order han been disrupted which is exactly what donald trump understood when he started peddling assertions that i had not been born in the United States and was once an illegitimate president. Millions of americans spooked by a black man in the white house, he promised an elixir for the racial anxiety. Do you think that is a fair analysis . I think this is the third bite obama come about obama with the fourth was still to come, this clock said 800 pages almost. There is a lot to say from thehe former president. I can understand why he bristles at President Trump for a number of reasons, the birth of his him he is legit beef, i think a lot President Trump won and what announced to a repudiation in a lot of ways of the obama presidency, he was expecting his successor Hillary Clinton to carry on his legacy and said disrupted in at, serious way and the president , the current president was able to dismantle what obama did because obama so often govern by fiat and you could undo it with executive orders a lot of what the former president had done the previous president barack obama. I think there iss core settlingi read another excerpt where he was complaining about Senate Republicans and playing the race card and said i dispatched joe biden to talk to them because they did not want to make it seem like they were doing a deal with me because im a black rumored muslim is what he says in the book and many republicans on the senate side that i spoke with this week cannot roll their eyes hard enough at that version of events. Gillian one of the things that surprised me, so far President Trump who has his finger on the twitter trigger has not responded to any of what weve seen so far from barack obama, do you expectoi that to last or will this end up with obama on 60 minutes tonight and up in a president ial war of words. If i have to put money on it i would bet that President Trump is really itching to punch back and will do so imminently, i was trying to think of reasons why he might not have done so already and the only thing i can come up with is that president obama is right now kind of getting on the campaign trail, he has been out there much more lately, he is drawing a lot of attention to what former Vice President biden did during hisis administration the president does not want to focus on that, he does not want to draw attention to the fact that former president obama has high Approval Ratings among his party and the democrats, maybe thats what the president is staying silent, this is my 2 cents, its cobably worth about 1 cent but their ego. Jon. Chris it would boost book sales, i know hes been advised of the critical books to stay silent, but thats never stopped him in the past. Donna and the time we have left, i want to turn to the subject it looks almost certain, i think all of us agree u president elet biden would take the oath of office on january 20 and its very likely, i know youll push back but dont for the sake of this that the republicans are going to keep control ofre the senate, i understand it comes down to two races, special election in georgia but thene likelihood that Mitch Mcconnell is a Senate Majority leader, in january, a question if that is the case, President Biden a republican housesenate, how much will that curtail bidens plans for his cabinet and bidens plans for his a agenda . First of all the democrats must leverage in the house and the white house, clearly mitch nmcconnell is going to be a key player, hes been a key player since 2006, he said in 2009 2010 his only objective was to make barack obama only a one term president barack obama won reelection, he has worked with joe biden in the past, he worked with joe biden on the tax bill and worked with him before on nominations, i do believe that the two of them have a great relationship, they know each other and known each other for 40 years i believe the democrats will be able to work with Mitch Mcconnell on a couplr of issues including infrastructure and keeping the government going and maybe lowering prescription drugs in healthcare and other issues. Chris i would be curious to hear your reaction on a more conservative perspective, how hard do you expect mcconnell and republican senators to go after President Biden, for instance on the cabinet, how hard do you think they will refuse if biden were to nominate people like Elizabeth Warren for treasury or Bernie Sanders for labor or susan rice for the state department. I think that joe biden might not be totally horrified at the idea of a Republican Senate so he does not have to pick people and he doesnt want to put them in his cabinet and blame it on the republicans. I think susan rice if shes put up will be more likely than the other two names i think republicans might draw a line there and have a big fight but despite your admonition, republicans cannot look past georgia there still a legitimate chance that democrats could win the senate and have full control of the government and a 50 50 senate is a here is senate, Chuck Schumer senate and for anyone right of center that has to be priority number one, im not willing to look past the rtfifth of january because thers an absolutely crucial task yet to be accomplished down in georgia and as we just seen a democrat can compete of not win statewide in that state as joe biden has just shown. Chris 30 seconds, whats the chance realistically that democrats can pu flip those two seats in georgia. Its an uphill battle but Stacey Abrams invested early in the democrats are backing her and all theyre down ballot organizations that are helping her theres a great chance the democrats can take the purple state and turn it t blue. Chris for those of you who are already exhausted by this never ending election campaign, we have two more months until january 5 when the special election takes place in georgia. But it was more than the loss of someone we all enjoyed watching, because in 2012 i was invited to be on the show and got to spend some time with this legendary host. Once again hes our power player of the week. If i can ring in with my ballpoint pen faster than the contestants and come up with the response before they do, im feeling pretty good. Crust chris alex trebek talking about the appeal of watching jeopardy, the show he hosted for almost 37 years. As for what makes a good contestant ashley what is an escalator . On our show they do well because of their skills and their gameplaying abilities. Chris jeopardy came to washington in 2012. Read the scores at the end of the double jeopardy round chris to tape five shows with socalled power players. Trebek gave me a few pointers. Keep in mind youll see it up there and hear it as i read it. Chris and if i hit this, it lights up. Ing it turns out the signaling device is as important as knowing the answer. You cant ring in until i have read the last syllable of the last word in the clue. And if you ring in a fraction of a second too early, youve locked yourself out for a traction fraction of a second. Chris i learned all this hard way during my practice game with dr. Oz. There were some ups [inaudible] and downs. Chris one of the joys of jeopardy is how little its changed over more than three decades. But there was a firestorm in 2001 when trebek shaved his moustache on a whim. Thank you, johnny. Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Were on the verge of war and yet theres so much being made of alex shaved his moustache. Chris you seem as if you know all the answers to all the questions. Do you doubt that i know . Chris do you dumb it down for celebrities . In fact, trebek said he could get about twothirds of the questions right. And as he got older, he admitted, they didnt come as quickly to him. People who come to our tapings often ask how would you do, alex, if you were a contestant on the show . And i tell them honestly, a good 30yearold would clean my clock. Chris trebek was deeply involved in world vision which builds schools and provides health care and clean water nor thursday world countries. He was 71 when we talked. Any thoughts of retirement . Yes. I have been thinking about retiring. But im torn because i enjoy doing the show so much. A lot of people have been telling me, alex, youve got to go for at least 30. Youve done 28 now, at least two 2 more. So that has a nice ring to it. Put in your 30 and go help people. Chris of course, trebek never retired and went on to set the Guinness World record for hosting the most episodes of a game show. Including the one ill never forget, winning 50,000 for charity eight years ago. In a long career, that was one of the highlights. And thats it for today. Have a great week and well see you next Fox News Sunday. Mark hello america i am mark livein and this is life liberty and livein. Before we get started this evening i want to make a comment.
