Paul manafort, trumps top adviser discusses the pivot to aer in Traditional Campaign in a Fox News Sunday exclusive. Then Bernie Sanders insists he still has a shot at the democratic nomination. Even as Hillary Clinton extends her delegate lead. This campaign is doing well because we are doing something radical. We are telling the truth. Well Ask Democratic Party chair Debbie Wasser man schultz whether its hurting the eventual nominee. And we look at tuesday when five east coast states hold primaries. And our power player of the week two baby eaglets draw attention to an Outdoor Laboratory in washington. All right now on Fox News Sunday. Hello again from fox news in washington. The Trump Campaign which until now has been known for the larger than life candidate says the boss is ready to tone it down. Whats being called a makeover comes as donald trump looks poised to sweep five east coast primaries on tuesday. Paul manafort, trumps new top adviser is behind the effort to rally the gop around the frontrunner. Welcome to Fox News Sunday. Thank you, chris. You met with members of the Republican National committee in florida this week to try to reassure them about donald trump. But in your effort, it raised new concerns. It was supposed to be a closed door meeting but somebody taped it. Here is a clip. The part hes been playing is evolving into the part that now you have been expecting but he wasnt ready for because he had to, first, complete the first phase. You will start to see more depth to the person, the real person. You will see him in a different way. Playing a part, see the real person. Trump has been campaigning for ten months now. We havent seen the real man . What that clip was related to was a question that was asked talking about the settings he was going to be in. On the Campaign Setting you are seeing the real donald trump in Campaign Mode talking to people who believe in his candidacy. I was dealing with members of the Republican National committee who have a different role from an organizational standpoint. They want to know about things like is he going to give speeches on policies . Is he going to be involved in settings that arent rally oriented. That was the context i was talking about. We were evolving the campaign, not the candidate, and the settings would be changing. Forgive me. It seems a little bit like spin. The words, the part hes been playing, you will start to see more depth of the person, the real person. You are not talking about ral rallies versus other i was. Thats not what you said. In the context of the room that was understood. When it was taken out of context and the question asked to me wasnt prefaced with my answer you get a distorted thing. Donald trump said it yesterday on the campaign trail. He addressed the issue completely. Look, when im out here, i want to talk to you and show you who i am in this environment. When im going to give a policy speech i will be giving a policy speech. He said it straight up. Okay. According to ted cruz and understandably hes not a great supporter of you or donald trump, he says what you were saying is that trump the conservative is just a show. Heres cruz. He doesnt believe anything hes saying. Hes just trying to fool gullible voters and hes not going to do any of it. Hes not going to build a wall, deport anyone. He is telling us he is lying to us. When you talk about trump playing a part, cruz says thats what you mean. There is a liar. Not trump. Hes got to change the narrative. Hes losing. Hes on the cusp of having the nomination mathematically taken away from him. Hes trying to change the narrative. We never talked about the wall. I never said trump wasnt going to build a wall. I never said trump would change his position. We never talked about it in the meeting. Cruz made it up from whole cloth because he has to find something that gets people from focusing on the Real Campaign which is next tuesday when hell lose all five states and probably finish third. He has a failed candidacy. You can see with this desperate tactic what hes trying to gloss over like he did with carson in iowa, rubeo in florida. He makes things up when hes cornered. You say hes losing, but in fact he had a good weekend. He did not. One of your jobs is to make sure the delegates that are selected, the people who will sit in the seats are Trump Supporters who will continue to support him if the Convention Goes beyond the first ballot. Trump picked up at least 65 delega delegates. People sitting in the seats if they have to vote for trump in the first round are cruz supporters and the Cruz Campaign says you guys picked up two. 652. Thats not losing. Okay. You have been around a long time. Dont rub it in. The only vote that matters is the vote thats cast when the roll call is called. On saturday, ted cruz won zero. Not 36, not 66. Zero delegates. What was done on saturday was confirming the results of primaries. Now, most of the conventions that happened yesterday were set in stages a month or two ago. Before, frankly, i was involved. Thats not the point though. The point is cruz doesnt care what happens in the elections. Cruz is playing fast with the rules and doesnt care about the local concerns. What you saw in maine yesterday for example, there was a consensus. The government put together of all the campaigns. Everybody was going to be represented on the ticket consistently with the results the voters chose in the maine primary. Cruz at the last minute broke the deal and effectively didnt care about the local officials. Didnt care about results afterwards and, yes, he steamrolled it. Thats not the trump approach. We are running the campaign to win the votes on the first ballot. We are going to win on the first ballot. All of the Party Disruption cruz is causing at the end of the day will only hurt the party, not trump. Hell still have the votes cast in the first ballot and there will be no second ballot which will be very clear when the process is over june 7th. You and i have known each other since the reagan white house. After that you went into lobbying. Its fair to say that some of your clients are at the very least continue verlander. Dictator marcos, guerilla leader jonas avimbe, victor yanakovic which led to someone calling your firm the torturers lobby. How do you plead. You have to dissect it. When i was representing svimbe that was the administrations chosen group in washington. I was working with the administration against at that time a soviet dictatorship put up in angola. In the philippines i was tasked to go out and help bring the transition of marcos to an end. But in the 2000s, he was never an american ally. If you look at the results the agreement signed that brought ukraine into europe, i was the person who worked with the europeans to negotiate it because yanakovic was committed and we can have coffee over it sometime but the role i played was to bring ukraine into europe and we succeeded. Ted cruz has started going after you and the team you assembled. Here he is yesterday. The entire Campaign Apparatus now is a washington lobby apparatus. If you are happy with the corruption of washington, with the bipartisan corruption of Big Government then Donald Trumps campaign is for you. Your response . The people he was talking about havent lobbied for 10 to 20 years. Did they once lobby . Yes. Have they been lobbying for 10 or 15 years . No. They have been in private sectors outside of washington. The larger point is youre an insider, the person you are bringing in is insider. Trump taught hes antiestablishment or an outsider, hes the real outsider. Im not running for president. Donald trump is. Donald trump is clearly an outsider. Donald trump is clearly established his credentials with the American People by virtue of what he said hell do in changing the rigged economy, rigged banking system. Again, this is cruz because there are no issues left trying to confuse a simple fact. Hes about to be mathematically eliminated next week. Look at what hes trying to do. Hes trying to say the process doesnt matter. Hes saying voting doesnt matter. Hes trying to say all that matters is to destroy the party and see who can pick up the pieces on a second, third or fourth ballot. Good news for him or the party, we are not going to let it happen. Well win it on the first ballot. What we are trying to do now is work with the Mitch Mcconnells we didnt oppose in kentucky though he won the election and we worked to put a unify slit together to bring the Party Together. This is interesting. You are saying you are working with the Senate Majority leader who is a symbol of the problem to a lot of grassroots. That was an example saturday where we won the state. We could have gone in and tried to be disruptive as cruz does. We didnt want to. We know well be the nominee. We have to work with these people. What i was tasked to do was begin to have people who trump hasnt been exposed to understand that the campaign cares about them and well run traditional elections. Trump raised some new questions this week about his conservativism when he opposed North Carolinas new law which will set restrictions on which bathrooms trans gender people can use. Heres what your candidate had to say. That would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and the country. Leave it the way it is. That night trump reversed himself and said, well, its a states rights issue. Simple question. What does trump think about the North Carolina law . Trump thinks what he said that it is a states right issue. He also said leave it alone. He told you his position. You just had him on air. He said it is a states right issue. Period, end of sentence. 12 hours before, eight hours before, he said to leave it the way it is and there doesnt need to be a change. It is a problem in search of a solution. Which it is. Its a solution in search of a problem that there is really not a problem there. What he said he was asked a question of his personal opinion in the afternoon. Then he was asked how to handle the issue. His personal opinion stands. What stands is what he said when asked a specific question of what should happen to the issue. He said it is a states rights issue. It should be handled by the states. Finally, your new team has been talking about the fact that trump will make a Foreign Policy speech this week in washington using teleprompters, make more serious policy speeches using teleprompters. Are you trying to drag him, kicking and screaming, to be more president ial. First, it is not a new team. It is an expanded team. Secondly, we are at a period in the campaign where these things are relevant. Campaigns are a process. Trump recognizes it and the attitude is first he had to establish the credibility of the candidacy which he did. He needed to win primaries which he did. He had to emerge as the presumptive nominee which he did. Now people are looking at him as potentially the next president of the United States. There is another stage in the process. Thats what this is. Is that part of being more president ial . Its nothing contrary to being president ial. Paul, thank you. Thanks, chris. We have been doing this for 36 i dont know, 30whatever years. Long time. Well track the returns tuesday night. Thank you. Up next, we bring in the sunday group to discuss the changing strategy of the Trump Campaign and what would you like to ask the panel about a possible trump make over . Go to facebook or twitter at Fox News Sunday. We may use your question on the air. vo on the trane test range, you learn what makes our heating and cooling systems so reliable. If theres a breaking point, well find it. Its hard to stop a trane. Really hard. A grwas seeing theing the different discounts. Ice it had like a manufacturer discount, it had a usaa member discount. United states Postal Service priority you at some point im going to be so president ial, you people will be so bored. Republican frontrunner donald trump having fun talking about his need to present a president ial image. Time for gerald f. Seib of the wall street journal, susan page from usa today, ben domenech, cofounder of the web magazine, the federalist, and fox news political analyst juan williams, author of the new book we the people. We ask you for questions for the panel. We got a bunch on this question of a possible trump makeover. Madeleine says, he might act more president ial but it would be an act. Laurie tweeted, will the real donald trump please stand up and face the people . Jerry, how do you answer them . Should trump try to change his image . Can he . You know, its not just the handlers saying it. We had an interview with trump. He said i need to be more disciplined, adjust. Im going to because im not going to blow it. He said, when i show up at a rally with 20,000 people they are looking for me to entertain them and im not going to let them every politician tries to have it both ways. This is him trying to have it both ways. I will be entertaining but be president ial not at a rally. The problem is those things collide. Can you do that . Can you be we are having this conversation. Its hard to do that. Speaking of which, there was a very interesting editorial in the Washington Post today. Let me put it up here. Youre not going to be able to read it. The headline remember the real donald trump. His pivot to a president ial demeanor cannot erase history. It goes on at great length to talk about remember Donald Trumps comments about Illegal Immigrants being rapists and criminals, his comments that john mccain is not a real war hero. It says no matter what his handlers try to make him, dont forget that. Susan, it raises the question, is a makeover of Donald Trumps persona, his image possible in this 24 7 world of news and social media . I think two questions. No one else will let him forget it. Hillary clinton yesterday put out a video with his more provocative statements. Also i have questions about whether donald trump can remake himself. Tuesday night he looked more president ial talking about senator cruz but at the rally wednesday he was back to lying ted. In the interview, i think we know who the real donald trump is. Hes i are repressible. The most interesting line which was meant to be critical of donald trump was a quote from Reince Priebus that said winning is the antidote to a lot of things. Also true when it comes to donald trump. The question becomes, because you look at his numbers, his unfavorables and they are sky high. Unprecedentedly high for a major nominee. Can you win if he stays in this donald trump . I mean, one, can we hin as this donald trump. Two, can he become another donald trump and will the new donald trump make people forget . He cant be elected with these unfavorables but hes running against someone with unfavorables a little bit lower. Both he and Hillary Clinton have unfavorable ratings over 50 . We have never had that situation with a candidate in either party. This year we think it will be in both. It makes you a little less confident in saying, oh, there is no way he can be elected. As i discussed with Paul Manafort about North Carolinas new law restricting bathrooms in the case of trans gender people, created a backlash. Ted cruz saw an opening. He thought that men should be able to go into the girls bathroom if they want to. Have we gone stark raving nuts . Is this a good issue for republicans in the primaries . Is it a good issue for the general election. First of all, there are fewer trans gender people in america than there are registered sex offenders. In this case thats what people are concerned about. They are less concerned about trans gender people than men using this as a way to get into locker rooms with women and exploit the opportunity to participate in a criminal act. I think thats something thats a concern with americans. The polls generally show favoring these types of policies has increased since the debate started. On the side of trump this is just part of the piece of what we have seen in the past. A month ago after he ran the table in florida, missouri, illinois and North Carolina. There was all this talk that hes going to shift to being more president ial. Instead he embarked on gaffes and own goals that under mined his ability to coalesce and unite the party. What we have seen over the past weeks since he woman in new york is reverting to personal attacks. Calling for a weakening of the pro life plank of the party. Getting to the left of Hillary Clinton on trans gender issues. Coming out in favor of raising taxes. Insulting opponents names and coming out the other day to suggest in spite of all of the legal decisions that have gone against it that ted cruz wont be a qualified candidate because hes not a naturalized citizen. This is not someone interested in uniting the party. If its easy to be president ial, try it for five minutes. Wow. I want to go back to the issue of the bathrooms. We tried to find out whether it is a problem, a Public Safety issue with trans gender people misusing bathrooms to prey on others. Here is what politifact found. We havent found any instance of criminals convicted of using trans gender protections as cover in the United States. Neither have any left wing groups or right wing groups. Which brings me to Charles Krauthammers comment which i was quoting to Paul Manafort which this is a solution in search of a problem. I think thats right. One of the North Carolina Police Chiefs said he was in the force 40 years and had never dealt with the issue. He said people are creating a problem in search of a solution. What we come back to is a wedge issue here that in terms of gay rights, gay marriage has been continue ve controversial. It helped president bush gain reelection in 2004. That issue just doesnt have the same power, same strength on the electorate. When you look at the reality, people say, well, gosh, you know, at home i use the same bathroom as my wife. In college they have samesex bathrooms. This doesnt seem to be a crying issue. Even if terms of the evangelical, the power of the true conservatives which is what cruz is trying to do countering trump on the issue. It doesnt carry. Doesnt seem to have the power. I want to shift the question a little bit. After trumps sweeping victory in new york, getting over 60 of the vote. Over 90 of the delegates. The rules worked in his favor. Did the ground shift inside the republican establishment . Is there a growing acceptance or at least growing resignation to the fact that trump will be the nominee . I think you could almost feel it tuesday night as the results came in. It went from maybe it wont work this way to, oh, my gosh, it is. You know, the math didnt tell you that. The perception in the party told you there was a change. I think you saw it at the rnc meeting in florida. Instead of fighting the trend there was more, can we come to terms with the trump trend . Thats a significant difference. It matters because if you create an air of inevitability and thats what the Trump Campaign is trying to do. Thats what you saw Paul Manafort doing it becomes easier to get delegates to come your way. They say it is inevitable, go with the flow. You create the perception and the reality or you can. Manafort talked about getting to 1237 by the end of the primaries june 7 but there are 41 days, six weeks almost between the end of california and the primaries in cleveland. Thats a long time to get unpledged delegates. All right. Well take a break. Well see you all later. Up next, Hillary Clinton tries to pivot to the general election, but Bernie Sanders keeps up the attacks against clinton. Well talk with Democratic Party chair Debbie Wasser man schultz about the state of the race. Is the prolonged campaign on the democratic side hurting the party . Let me know on facebook or twitter, foxnews sunday and use the hashtag fns. Trugreen presents the yardleys. Hello . oh, pizza is here oh yeah, come on in [claps] woah lose the sneakers pal. Kind of a thing. Spring is on. Start your trugreen lawn plan today. Trugreen. Live life outside. A look outside the beltway at philadelphia, site of this years Democratic Convention. Frontrunner Hillary Clinton took a big step toward locking up the nomination with a sweeping victory in the new york primary. Bernie sanders shows no signs of conceding and continues to run hard against her. Joining us from florida the chair of the democratic National Committee Debbie Wasserman schultz. Congresswoman, given that Hillary Clinton seems to have a pretty clear path to the nomination now does Bernie Sanders need to tone down attacks and bring the Party Together . Well, i actually have been very proud throughout the campaign of both candidates. You have seen in every one of the debates and then also in discussions on the campaign trail the substance and the commitment each of the candidates has to laying out for the American People the vision for how they would move the country forward. I have been proud of them. Particularly when compared to the circus thats unfolded on the other side. If you could answer my question, does Bernie Sanders tone it down . Im about to. I was waiting. Im about to. I needed to preface it for a moment. They have done a great job at being substantive comparatively. What i have cautioned over the last several weeks is we need to make sure that the rhetoric each candidate uses is such that it doesnt make it more difficult for us to reunify. It is expected in a Campaign Like this one, as we get toward the narrow end of the funnel. We have 19 primaries left. It will get a little bit more intense. We need to make sure we focus on the end game which is to obviously make sure that we can elect our nominee president of the United States which im confident we will. Sanders continues even after new york to go after clinton. Here is some of what he said during a town hall this week in pennsylvania. One of the differences between secretary clinton and myself is i have opposed every one of these. One of the major differences is precisely how we raise money for the campaign. Question. Is that helpful to electing a democratic president . When you look at what happened from the other side of the aisle with basically toto pulling back the curtain on the wizard and revealing that donald trump isnt on the level, has never been on the level. They basically have a faker running for president of the United States and has been the most extreme, my sojnistic and bigoted candidate who has ever run before. Pointed differences between the candidates. At the end of the primary it pales in comparison to whats played out on the other side of the aisle. You have each of the candidates on the other side calling them liars and i understand it is your job to make the case against republicans. The fact is Bernie Sanders talks repeatedly about Hillary Clinton not standing up to wall street. In fact, taking hundreds of thousands of dollars for speeches whose transcripts she wont release. Not standing up to Drug Companies. Deal with your own party for a moment, if you will. Is that helpful, those critiques to electing a democratic president . Im glad to deal with my own party. But it has to be done in context. I got it. You think the other guys are worse. Lets deal with your party. Much. If you look at the way our campaign played out bost candidates are focused on the same goal. If either were president they would build on 73 straight months of job growth in the sector. President obama pulled us out of the worst recession since the great depression. They have both talked about reaching the middle class by making sure we continue to have policies and build on the policies, that people can have a good job and reduce income inequality. How about the fact that Bernie Sanders says Hillary Clinton is ineffective, corporate sellout . Again, because we have two candidates who have focused on their desire to achieve the same goals and build on the legacy of success we have had as opposed to the policies of a presidency that plunged us into economic crisis. Differences of opinion, even sharp ones pale in comparison compared to whats on the other side. We had a much more divisive primary in 2008. Not only did we reunify successfully. We elected barack obama. He selected Hillary Clinton to be secretary of state. I was a Hillary Clinton supporter to the last day in 2008. He asked me to be his dnc chair. Im confident regardless of the intensity of whats played out here at the last stages of the campaign. We will be unified and thats not the case on the other side. They are headed for chaos at the convention. There was a lot of analysis in the media this week that Sander Sanders attacks have been driving up clinton negatives. In a wall street journal poll the rating on whether people have a positive or negative view of clinton is at minus 24. Among all men, shes minus 40. Among all whites, shes at minus 39. Now, look, i know so you dont have to say it. I know trumps numbers are worse. He may not be the nominee. Her numbers deal with them, if you will, please are historically low. Well, republicans are certainly some republicans are hoping beyond hope that donald trump isnt the nominee with good reason. If you look at the exit polls that were coming out of new york and our voters were asked whether they were enthusiastic and thought the primary energized them, 7 of 10 of the voters asked said, yes, they thought the primary energized them about supporting either one of the candidates. Less than 40 said the same about the republicans. In fact, a third actually can i just excuse me for a second. Im sorry . I want to pick up o those ar matter. Good. I want to talk about the enthusiasm with clintons support. So far 23. 1 Million People voted in republican primaries. 18. 5 million voted in democratic primaries. When it comes to enthusiasm, republicans have a big advantage, almost a 5 million voter edge in turnout. Hillary clinton has had 10. 6 Million People vote for her at this point. Bernie sanders, 7. 1 Million People. Hillary clinton has more votes than donald trump. I understand. But there were 17 candidates on one side. Thats exactly the point. There were 17 candidates on one side generating a bunch of turnout. In many places around the country we came close or had the equivalentful of the turn out. When you look at where we are today in the campaign in terms of the energy and enthusiasm and interest in supporting our eventual nominee there is more support and energy on our side than on the republican side. The same was true coming out of wisconsin. This is a pattern. In different kinds of states. We are continuing to head towards a unified effort when our primary is over to make sure that we can get behind the eventual nominee and the republicans are clearly headed for a brokered convention thats going to descend into chaos. There is almost no one you could ask that doesnt acknowledge that. I want to talk about one last subject with you, congresswoman. You dismissed the idea that Hillary Clinton could face any legal troubles over her private email server as, quote, ludicrous. How do you know that . I am simply confident that as the Investigation Continues that Hillary Clinton has made it clear and there are scores of individuals who are associated with the federal government that indicated she conducted herself legally. She was able to use private email just like previous republican and democratic secretaries of state. I think at the end of the day this is going to amount to nothing more than an investigation when they take a close look. I think shell be fine. The reason i ask is the fbi dozens of agents who have been investigating this issue for months and just this week, fbi director james comey said it could go on past the Democratic Convention in july. You know, theres got to be something they are investigating. Are you saying its a waste of time . Im not commenting on it one way or the other. You have. You said its ludicrous. Yes. I will say it again. Its ludicrous to keep raising the question of whether this plays out to an unfortunate end. Hillary clinton has released 55,000 pages of emails. Has provided the most tran partn transparency of any previous candidate in terms of the conversations shes had as secretary of state, as a public official. It is completely available for perusal by the press. She was doing something and using private email in the same way that previous secretaries of state had done. You know thats not true. I mean, nobody says thats true. Other than the private nobody other than the private server. Other than the private server is a big deal. Nobody had 30,000 work emails on their private server or private email, period. Comparisons to colin powell, thats just not true. It certainly is true. Powell, kond lee za rice, john kerry all used email to communicate with staff. Not 30,000. Im not counting. Over the course of the term, she used private email and was allowed to use it. Thats not in dispute. She released at least 55,000 pages of emails. This is a distraction. The American People will decide who to vote for based on who they believe will continue to move us forward and help everybody who wants to succeed have a fair shot to do so. What they are not going to vote on is distractions like this one. They are not going to choose any one of the republican candidates who think we should continue and go back to policies that focus on the wealthiest, most fortunate americans that are extreme like donald trump suggesting we are going to deport 11 Million People or ban an entire religion from coming into the country. Thats the choice. All right. Thank you very much. Well have you back. Youre welcome. You can continue the conversation. Thank you very much for sharing part of your weekend with you. Its humbling that you trust me with the awesome responsibilities that await our next president. Its not unrealistic. Its a hard path. I admit it. Given the fact that we have now won some 17 states, it is a possibility. In the wake of Hillary Clintons big victory in new york this week, two different reactions from the Democratic Candidates about the path forward. We are back now with the panel. Susan, back in 2008, Hillary Clinton kept running right through all the primaries, right through california. Seems right about now she began to back off the attacks on obama and stick to the affirmative case for herself. Bernie sanders is still going after her. Well see what happens after tuesday night. Hes headed for a big defeat in pennsylvania. Thats a Midatlantic States they had hopes to win. Jerry has a new pullout that puts him down 15 points in pennsylvania. The clinton folks have no expectation hell get out of the race. They hope he tempers the rhetoric. They say hes doing damage by criticizing her judgment, honesty, trustworthiness. When he criticized her as unprepared i dont think that worried them. Thats not her vulnerability. But hes hitting her in place where is it could hurt in november. Which brings us to a big question in prohibition. What does Bernie Sanders want . If hes not the nominee, what will he demand from the Clinton Campaign . He said what he would like to see in the platform are planks that say the Democratic Party will take on wall street and the Drug Companies and oil and gas. What do you think is the likelihood . The first person who has to decide the answer is Bernie Sanders himself. The vibes out of the sanders camp were mixed after the new york primary. Some said we fight on in the convention. It is possible to win. There was a little bit in the clip. Others said, you know, well take stock after this week. The next set of primaries on tuesday. If he wants to affect the way the party is going he has to scale back attacks. By attacking Hillary Clinton you are angering the same people in the party who will determine the direction of the party. Its counter productive. I suspect well see a verdict from the sanders camp after tuesday. I guess we get to the platform. What do you think is the likelihood that if he says the price for my coming on board and for my really working to get support for hillary is that youve got to have a more sanderslike platform is the Clinton Campaign going along with that . Not all the way. There is already a more sanderslike platform. Hes pushed the party to the left. He pushed Hillary Clinton to the left on things like a trade in particular. Maybe the minimum wage. There will be a negotiation under way. I dont think the clinton people will have more leverage than sanders here. They wont start caving in giant ways to make it difficult for her to move back to the middle in the general election. Juan, i discussed clintons not very impressive poll numbers with Debbie Wasserman schultz. As i pointed out to her, trumps unfavorability is higher. But shes going into the general election if shes the nominee as a vulnerable candidate. She has an achilles heel. Its trustworthiness and honesty. This business about the email server has been a constant thorn in her side. Used by critics, especially on the republican side who are going out there wishing there would be an indictment and shell be in jail, all the rest. Thats a consistent issue. For a reason we see in the poll numbers. So how does this play with democrats . Is it hurting democrats . Democrats dont even Pay Attention to the email server story. The Foundation Story and the question about quid pro quo the clinton Foundation Story. And the question about if there was quid pro quo while she was secretary of state lingers and suggests she has sharp elbows. People think maybe she plays to the edge. I think it will be exploited by the republicans. I dont think there is a question. An argument is another part of the critique that shes too cozy with wall street, with the establishment in the year of the outsider. That comes back to what you were asking jerry. What can he expect to get in a trade off with Hillary Clinton and the democrats. More in terms of Hillary Clinton and is that going to be a vulnerability for her in the general. Hopefully from her perspective it doesnt need to be a vulnerability if Bernie Sanders can get some of what he wants and say, you know, his voters, a third of whom say they wont vote for Hillary Clinton begin to shift. One if trump or cruz is the nominee they have somebody that generates fair among democrats to spur voter turn out. To get back to your point, if on the minimum wage on big banks and wall street if the Democratic Party begins adapting some of Bernie Sanders language, his younger voters, liberal, socialist voters come to the Hillary Clinton camp. There is another side of that, ben, which sanders has already pushed clinton further to the left on a number of issues, especially illegal immigration. We talk about trump trying to pivot in the general. Does that make it tougher for hillary to pivot . I think it is going to make it tougher. We saw reporting from the daily beast that a pro Clinton Super pac paid supporters to push back against Bernie Sanders supporters on twitter, instagram. It is a sign of how hard it is to get people to support Hillary Clinton among the younger set. Thats a challenge for her. Younger voters who were key in electing president obama arent going to be convinced shes someone they need to support. Thats going to force her into a position to continue to appeal to their more liberal positions on a lot of issues as she goes into a general as opposed to going back to center. Thats a challenge for her and a reason why sanders supporters, the 30 or so percent juan was referring to will prove a tougher nut to crack for hillary. We talk about the chaos and disarray in the republican party. How vulnerable a candidate do you think she is for the general . She has the second highest negatives of a candidate. She is helped by the fact shes going to run against the person with the highest negatives in the modern era thanks to the people of new york for the prioritization of electability on both sides of the political fray for that issue. I dont think the problem is she was pushed to tlehe left. The problem is she doesnt incite the enthusiasm donald trump and Bernie Sanders do. She can make concessions on the platform. Whos going to care 48 hours after the platform has been adopted . She needs to figure out a way to get voters to think, this is somebody i really want to be president. Because there is only so much. Sanders could be helpful, of course, in doing that. This is really the task for the candidate. Shes a known quantity which is a challenge. After this many years how can you shift away from that . I have less than a minute left. Juan, in the time we have left, tell people why to buy your new book . Well, they should read it. Its about change and the change makers. If the Founding Fathers came back to life and walked down the street with chris wallace. We saw Harriet Tubman on the 20. That rate of change suggests america is in the 2016 cycle undergoing anxiety, discomfort, economic change, demographic, political change. This is about the people who made the change and the america we live in in 2016. This is a great eye opener behind the headlines of the campaign. I wish i had a copy of it. Imagine i did. We the people. Buy it. Thank you, panel. Up next, we visit the magnificent home of two baby bald eaglets. Clierz. Its one of washingtons more hidden treasures. Is this a garden or a 400acre laboratory . Both. Its not mutually exclusive. Science occurs here every day. These beautiful azaleas grew only in the south until scientists developed hybrids that could survive further north. Miniature trees japan gave to this country in 1976 to mark our by centennial including the peace tree thats had quite a life since 1625. This tree survived hiroshima. A mile or so from the epicenter. So this tree, 400 years and a nuclear blast. Yes. Amazing to think about. This is my office. I get out what i want. Olsson grew up loving the outdoors. I was the guy planting rhubarb, red tips in North Carolina. There was a time he considered a different line of work. I thought to be an analyst, read too many spy books.
