We have Fox Team Coverage for you tonight. Trace gallagher standing by without breaking news on the investigation into the investigators. Brit hume on deck with expert analysis but we start with Gillian Turner but the House Democrats latest impeachment porch. Good evening, jillian good evening, shannon. Breaking tonight, congressional Company Chairman issuing a subpoena for Rudy Giuliani. Related to his role at the center of the ukraine scandal that has prompted democrats to launch an impeachment inquiry into the president. Adam schiff, eliot engel, and Elijah Cummings accuse Rudy Giuliani of jeopardizing national security. They write, you acted as an agent of the president in a scheme to advance his personal political interests by abusing the power of the office of the president. Calling him out or sharing screenshots of his Text Messages with Trump Administration officials, they make clear they believe giuliani is just the tip of the iceberg. You are in possession of evidence in the form of texts, phone records, and other communications indicating that you were not acting alone and that other Trump Administration officials may have been involved in this scheme. Fox news hannity just a short time ago, giuliani was noncommittal about testifying be panel. Im weighing the alternatives. I will go through it, get all my evidence together, ill get my chart. I dont know if they would let me use video tapes and tape that i have come if they let me get to some of the evidence that i gathered. The New York Times a report that the biden can be now pushing for a media ban on giuliani, now reportedly reached out to Major News Networks yesterday and asked them to stop booking him, making the case that all he does is spread false, debunked conspiracy theories on behalf of donald trump. President trump punched back today, though, saying the only people involved in this scheme are the democrats investigating him. Then you have adam schiff, who is even worse, made up, which i think its just horrible. I would never even see things like that. Adam schiff, representative, congressman, made up he actually took birds and made it up. Also breaking tonight, a source familiar with the call confirms to fox news, secretary of state mike pompeo was on that july 25th call between President Trump and the president of ukraine. This claim now ties the state department into the impeachment inquiry. Capitol hill sources telling fox news tonight, this is already piquing the interest, shannon, the interest the congressional investigators. Shannon it investigations are never going to be over about all these various things. Hearing the testimony may clear up some of this. May be. Shannon may be. Thank you. As democrats widen their impeachment net, republicans and Justice Department officials are focusing on the origins of the russia probe. Chief breaking news correspondent Trace Gallagher has the latest breaking news on the investigation into the investigators. Trace . Shannon, over the last several months we learned attorney general bill barth is very hard to push off course. Hes been subpoenaed by democrats, held in contempt, even threatened with criminal sanctions and yet none of that stopped him from assigning the u. S. Attorney in connecticut, john durham, from investigating the origins of the trumprussia probe. Now we know the attorney general is trying to help jerome by leaning on President Trump. In fact, the doj released a statement that reads in part, quoting, attorney general barrs request, the president has talked to other countries to introduce them to appropriate officials. Todays New York Times headlines that reads, trump pushes australian leader to help barr investigate the origin is not breaking news considering on may 24th from a President Trump set on the south lawn, that he wanted bill barr to look at everything, including australia, ukraine, and the u. K. The president also said this. Watch. He is going to look at a lot of documents. Some he might find interesting, maybe hell find on interesting. But for over a year, people have asked me to declassify. So what i have done is ive declassified everything. And the New York Times contention that President Trump pressed australian leader to help also appears to not be the case because fox news obtained a letter showing it was australia that proactively reached out to bill barr with a top diplomats telling fox, after the president said what he said, we initiated the contact. There was no pressure. We acted in order to help. Tonight on a hannity, the chair of the Senate Judiciary committee, lindsey graham, said he would be writing letters to the governments of australia, italy, and the u. K. , urging them to work with barr and his investigation. Shannon . Shannon Trace Gallagher on the west coast, thank you. Tonight, took a powerful republican chairman of separate committees, senators chuck gras, also want the attorney general to investigate democrats connection to ukraine. They want the doj to probe the dnc and clinton campaigns political effort in ukraine back in 2016. The senators writing to the doj, ukrainian efforts abided by u. S. Political party to interfere in the 2016 election should not be ignored. One thing is clear tonight, President Trump is not giving up on getting to the bottom of why former special Counsel Robert Mueller spent two years investigating his 2016 president ial campaign only to find no evidence of russian collusion. He told reporters months ago that he has tasked his attorney general, bill barr, getting to the bottom of the origins of the russia probe, even if it means looking overseas. Listen. He can lock, and i hope he looks at the u. K. , and i hope he looks at australia, and i hope he looks at ukraine, i hope he looks at everything. Because there was a hoax that was perpetrated on our country. Shannon fox news senior political analyst brit hume for a little analysis. Great to have you with us. Thank you, shannon. Shannon the headlines blaring today that the president has been pressuring foreign leaders to help them dig up dirt or engage in any investigations. He said in may, in front of everyone, that is what he wanted to have happen. Once again, a big scoop that earns about two turns out to be not news. Even if it were news, it would not be it would be wrong. After the president has an Investigation Underway by his Justice Department, a prosecutor there and, as he does come weve all known about this for a long time, and he solicits cooperation with that investigator from a foreign power, there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, my understanding is, that a kind of its done. For the prosecutor to go directly to the Foreign Government without some kind of toplevel intervention or introduction would be unusual. So for the president to ask for cooperation with the attorney general and those working for him, its perfectly appropriate as far as i can tell. Shannon just about contemporaneously, what that come out of the president made those statements, we have a letter that is dated may 28th from the australian bath ambassador to the u. S. , saying, we stand by ready to help with these eight inquiries. The doj in a statement making no effort to hide these, saying, a team led by the u. S. Attorney john durham, you mention, is investigating the origins of the u. S. Counterintelligence probe of the 2016 president ial campaign. Mr. Durham is gathering information from numerous sources including a number of foreign countries. There are those speculating tonight that there are some on the hill worried about what the origins or the genesis will find, and this is sort of getting ahead of it to credit durham. This is of a piece with some of the discussion weve been having for several days now about how investigations are labeled. Inquiries into donald trump are referred to as investigations. Inquiries in the past weeks, coverage of so that may involve former Vice President biden are referred to as dirt digging. So now that has been carried over, it seems to me, into the idea that this inquiry into the origin of the 2016 the 2016 drive to look into trump on a counterintelligence basis, are now also being treated as if they were illicit, improper dirt digging, which theres really no reason to believe. Shannon folks are making a separation between these inquiries with bill barr, the u. K. , australia, and that call that the president had with his ukrainian counterpart. Heres what the speaker of the house aside when she was asked yesterday about this coming together to the level of impeachment. Your public and colleagues say, welcome of the call is the call, but there was nothing here that rises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors. They are wrong. It remains to be seen. Its not just what happened in the call. Its part of a the sequencing of events as well. Shannon she says, you are wrong if you dont think this rises to the level of impeachment. Its not just about the call, its about the sequencing of events around that. How do you respond to the left he says, if you want to say at the call, there is no quid pro quo, there is a stream of actions by this president that they find to rise to the level of impeachable conduct . They need to understand what those things are, exactly what they are, and this whole discussion here, what she just said, suggests to me that it has dawned on her, who made who started this impeachment inquiry before she had seen the transcript of the phone call, the record of the phone call, she must recognize that it does not get there. That you can infer, if you choose to, things in the phone call that arent explicitly said. That doesnt prove a case. You cant just prove it by inference. It seems to me, if you will impeach a president of the United States or even have an inquiry into whether you should do that, you need something more than things that you can extrapolate or infer from a conversation in which the things you are talking about werent actually ever sad. That is a position the democrats are in now. Shannon a number of subpoenas, depositions, well learn a lot more. Very quickly, i want to ask you about the letter from the Biden Campaign saying to the number of Television Networks, stop booking Rudy Giuliani. They say by giving him air time, you are allowing him to do increasingly unhinged, unfounded, and desperate lies. They say, we right to demand that you know longer broke Rudy Giuliani. They also note, do the biden people, that journal is interviewing giuliani have been calling him out on things that he says that the journalists believe are false. But they said thats not good enough. They should shut him down altogether. My own view of that, it is an outlandish request. That any News Organization should immediately set aside and ignore. My worry is, maybe they wont. Maybe even though this man is representing the president of the United States. He is his lawyer. Hes making claims, well, people make claims all the time. Adam schiff made claims for two years as the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee about all this evidence he had of collusion, that strangely enough, the special counsel did not find. So should he be shut down and not allowed to appear because he made a lot of wild, outlandish claims . I think he should be taken with a grain of salt but i dont think you should be shut down. I think its crazy to ask giuliani to be shut down. Shannon we have invited him several times on fox news night. In the meantime, brit, thank you for stopping in. Good to have you. Shannon to hong kong where the protesters starting early tuesday. Its Chinese National day marking the 70th anniversary of the peoples republic of china. The protesters marching at the government holds an annual ceremony to mark the anniversary of communist party rule. We are told that two probeijing protesters have been arrested in the Early Morning scuffles in a semiautonomous territory. The fbi calls at the agencys top counterintelligence priority, launching elaborate sting operations to go after operatives here in the u. S. Who act on behalf of china. The doj announcing the arrests today at 56yearold edward tang, an american citizen agencn camera receiving and removing classified u. S. National security information and delivering it to china as part of the Chinese Government mss or ministry of state security. He partnered with the Chinese Government to help them get information. China is pervasive in organizing their efforts. The top priority is collecting information, ticket economic advantages over the United States. Say the words illegal aliens in new york and you might have to cough up a quarter Million Dollars in fines and threats to call i. C. E. Could also get you into trouble. The new acting immigration and Customs Enforcement director Matthew Albin joins us next. You ever wish you werent a motaur . Sure. Sometimes i wish i had legs like you. Yeah, like a regular person. Those instruction are how officers deal with people in the u. S. Illegally and federal immigration officials. Critics say the new rules put lives at risk. Correspondent matt finn tells us how from chicago. Chicago Police Sources tell fox news they fear new rules prohibiting Chicago Police officers from responding to department of Homeland Security calls for assistance could put police and dhs agents in danger. An internal cpd memo obtained by fox news, reads all officers must wait for a supervisor to assist dhs and officers cannot help with immigration arrests. Effective immediately, a cbd supervisor is required to respond to all requests for request from department of Homeland Security personnel. If its to assist with an aggressive toward detention, they will leave the scene as directed by the cpd supervisor. Historically, cpd responded to djs calls for backup or help with arrest. At the immigration rally, Lori Lightfoot said i. C. E. Agents are an arm of the Trump Administration. We will never, ever succumb to the racist, xenophobic rhetoric of i. C. E. And of course, we know that weve heard them and heard the ability to do their job in the city, but so be it. That is the point. The Chicago Police Department Says officers will help aid dhs agents in danger but not immigration arrests. Chicagos new i. C. E. Director says cook county ignored all of its 1100 requests last year to detain or lock up illegals, illegals, forcing agents to make arrests in the field that sometimes require the cpd back up. It only takes one public threat released to the community instead of two i. C. E. To change the course of your life. Cpd sources say they feel the new rules to send a message they want to pursue certain immigration suspects. Delegitimizing the air force. Shannon, foxs judge Andrew Napolitano says the u. S. Supreme court has also ruled that state and local agencies do not have to comply with federal agents. Shannon . Shannon thank you, matt. In new york city, you may be facing a 250,000 fine if you use the term illegal alien and a derogatory way. The big apple tweeting out other new guidelines, say new york city has made it illegal to threaten to call i. C. E. Based on discriminatory motive or to tell someone go back to your country. Hate has no place here. Joining me now to talk about that and much more, new acting immigration and Customs Enforcement director Matthew Albins, great to have you with us, sir. Lets talk about that. I want to put up on the screens of people can understand with a new guideline is that of new york city, talking about what will get you in trouble, they say its about the discriminatory motive, if you are unkind to someone, if you thought that a call i. C. E. , you make fun of the way they are not as proficient in the english language, you can face a fine fiber 250,000. Per act. Who is going to make a judgment call on this . I dont know. Im certainly no attorney, and there are some First Amendment violations. Thats not going to stop us doing what we do. We are out there every day, getting dangerous people off the streets. Even people in new york city, actively thwarting our efforts, we rested several hundred criminal aliens out of new york city last week. Criminal aliens released from their cities and jails, but they did not feel the need to give to us. Shannon they have been, a number of these different cities and sanctuary areas have been very critical of the i. C. E. A number of lawmakers have been critical of i. C. E. Are you worried that to someplace like new york city, outlawing using certain language, so those kinds of things, could actually come after i. C. E. Agents, people who are out there working because that is quite a fine . Are more concerned about the fact that these jurisdictions dont cooperate with us. Everyone is safe or what when Law Enforcement works together in the fact that they dont share information on dangerous criminals, dont accept the detainers, they just arrested for criminal violation a day before, we are there to take an individual into our cost to me because as a fugitive, criminal alien, and they dont cooperate, they are going back out in the community. That is where the danger lies. Shannon you want a press Conference Last Week to talk about a background of the peopls that these are people who were already facing criminal charges, been a part of some of those kinds of things. In the Washington Post reporting on this, saying, you are using a bully pulpit to blast sanctuary cities. A renewed attack on sanctuary cities was meant as a diversion designed to energize his political base, meeting the president , fixating on immigration, the specter of danger as a recurring theme for trump. What do you make of that of that characterization of what youre doing . Someone is not paying attention to what we do. We have been talking about the dangers of the sanctuary cities. We worked very hard in the last administration, just as hard as we are now, trying to get them to cooperate with us, to work with us, to realize the Public Safety threat that is being created as a result of taking these criminal aliens and releasing the back to the street. Shannon, in some areas, weve done research. We have found that the recidivism rate is almost 46 . That means that half the individuals that are foreign born from a sitting in the facility come are going to go out and reoffend as soon as they are released. Shannon congresswoman elana omar is one of the critics of i. C. E. A number of lawmakers and candidates, people calling for it to be disbanded or disrupted in the way that we now it. She tweets, while prosecuting people as criminals when they are simply seeking a better life. These are not the actions of the america the world deserves. Can you make a delineation between what you are doing in the sweeps, the roundups where they say you are terrorizing communities, people are here illegally versus people who have committed other crimes . We can only prosecute people for violations of a commit of federal code, which is passed by congress. Many of the individuals, even those we do prosecute, that doesnt eliminate the right to apply for some form of relief in this country. They can be prosecuted for the crime that has occurred and when they go in front of the immigration judge, they can make their case. Our arrests, most of them, unless an individual has been through the Immigration Court process, and exhausted of due process, is a fugitive, its a start of the process, judges and the criminal context. When someone gets arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, they are not being sentenced to prison. They will go through a Court Process just as we do. Shannon acting i. C. E. Director matthew albence. Thank you for stopping in. Thanks for having me. Shannon her tonight, cups and of our Border Protection on the army corps of engineers awarding new border wall contracts. Advil pm shannon the fate of a former Dallas Police officer on trial for fatally shooting her unarmed neighbor now and the jurors hands. Prosecutors and Defense Attorneys making their closing statements today after the defense rested its case. Correspondent Casey Stegall takes a look at the most explosive moments in the trial. Casey . Shannon, good evening. After hours of deliberations for day and even a jury question, still no verdict has been reached. They have gone back to their hotel rooms for the night and the jury will resume deliberations first thing in the morning. Remember, they have been sequestered this entire time, the 12 person jury is made up of eight women and four men. We have four alternates. They spent all last week hearing testimony from experts and eyewitnesses on both sides. The prosecution and defense. We even heard from the excop herself, amber guyger took the stand on friday, walking the court and the jury through the timeline of that september night last year when she claims she was so tired after getting off of work and finishing a shift that she was not thinking clearly. At the 31yearold says she accidentally entered the wrong apartment and mistook her neighbor for a burglar. Shooting and killing 26yearold botham jean, who was unarmed and eating ice cream in his living room. Prosecution spent much of this trial trying to paint guyger as a person who not only made a series of critical errors that night, that went totally against her training, but then showed more concern about herself and the consequences she faced versus helping a dying man. The state asked the jury in closing arguments to consider whether guyger acted reasonably, something may say she did not do. Not only is the jury also, by the way, weighing this guilty or not guilty verdict for murder, they also could go for a lesser charge. That is also on the table. A lesser charge of manslaughter. The judge gave the jury instructions on that as well, if shes found guilty of manslaughter, that means a whole lot less jail time. Then again, she could be acquitted altogether and walk out of this courtroom and courthouse a free woman. To be continued for now. Again, deliberations set to resume first thing tuesday morning. Shannon . Shannon well check back with you then, casey, thank you. Tonight an update on four inmates who broke out of an ohio jail. Correspondent mike tobin has this story. Mike . Shannon, lawrence lee made it on the outside 12 hours and 18 miles longer than his fellow escapees. He was ultimately picked up in durham, north carolina. The other three were picked up near red roof inn and cary, north carolina. Police say their arrest was without evidence and at the time he got away. Now the quartet is reunited. They need to be extradited back to ohio on the West Virginia border. However, the investigation does not end with the arrest. Our detectives have established that the inmates have the insistence and escaping from at least one individual on the outside. According to the chair, there was a car waiting for them when they made the jailbreak. Four of them overpowered a couple of female Correctional Officers of the makeshift knife and forced their way out of a secure door, one of them, according to police, how to escape from jail before. The sheriff complained that 22 but jail is 50 years old, understaffed, and the staff he has is underpaid. On the day of the escape, two have called in sick. Shannon . Shannon mike tobin, thank you. Lets be honest, insurance can feel a little outdated. The paperwork. The calling for everything. The searching for id cards. Its like youre stuck in the 90s. Thats why esurance makes it simple with an app that has everything you need because thats how we live nowadays. Rad. Your id card is on a bodacious tiny future tv. Wow youre really committed to this whole 90s thing, arent ya . No, im just saying whats in the script. Thats true. Everything were sayings in the script. When insurance is simple, its surprisingly painless. Speed when the family of a sixthgrader who alleged white classmates held her down and cut her dreadlocks and a racist attack is now apologizing, saying she made up the entire story. Correspondent Garrett Tenney is here with more including how the hoax was used to try to smear second lady karen pence. Calling me names like ugly and i should not have been born. I dont deserve any of those. Last week, this 12yearold made National Headlines claiming she was a victim of an assault by three of her white classmates during recess on the playground of immanuel Christian School in virginia. Three boys came up to me, they basically one of the boys put my hands behind my back and mom put their hands over my mouth so i couldnt scream or anything. The other kept cutting my hair. Her grandparents reported it all to police and demanded the boys be punished. I want to see them dismissed from the school. I want to see something done. I want to see whatever the policies are for bullying. Immanuel christian here traditional christian values. Second lady karen pence teaches art parttime there. It has long been a target of media progressive criticism in this story immediately sparked a wave of national coverage. Vice president mike pence his wife karen pence teaches art parttime. Im sure this has nothing to do with karen pence but is very disturbing about these boys because it is heartbreaking for that little girl. Speak about today, the family says the playground incident never happened. Amari made it all operated in a statement, they apologized to the three boys for the pain and anxiety the allegations call, for the school, and asked for forgiveness, saying that we understand that there will be consequences and we are prepared to take responsibility for them. The head of Immanuel Christian wants to put this latest Media Firestorm behind, saying, we also feel tremendous pain for the victims and the hurt on both sides of this conflict. We recognize that we now enter what will be a long season of healing. Most of the networks which cover this incident have not updated their stories, at least online. As for the 12yearold girl who made this whole thing up, an attorney for the family told the local nbc station, they are now seeking counseling for her. Shannon . Shannon Garrett Tenney, thank you very much for the update. Dr. Did night stop story, Top Democrats tracking their impeachment inquiry, expanding investigations, sending subpoenas to President Trumps personal attorney Rudy Giuliani and putting other key Administration Officials involved in the controversy surrounding the call and whistleblower complaint on notice. Lets talk about as democratic strategies kate brown former doj official. Great to have you with those. Lets start with this. I want to go to greg miller, Washington Post correspondent, he treats this, the attorney general is making undisclosed trip overseas to help investigate u. S. Intel services. That is not normal. Bob . This is a total nonstory. You can quibble with whether or not barr should open the investigation into the investigation about the origins of the investigation but once he has come of this is exactly what you do, you need help from foren agencies, you can ask the president or someone to make introductions to make sure things run smoothly. So this is what happens when these scandals break come people take small pieces of information like this and blow them up. Really, this adds nothing to the story and is totally routine for my experience. Shannon Ari Fleischer tweets, the real story real story is how fearful former obama fbi officials are. They seek to discredit ag barr. As are most likely have something to hide and dont want it found. Dave . [laughs] im sorry but that is assuming facts that arent evidence but its a wonderful Conspiracy Theory that is pushing out there is the truth. If i say its not true, true, all of a sudden i have to prove a negative, does not make sense. Heres what i find curious about the whole thing. One, i think we should be talking about the ukraine phone call because to me, that is the most damning of everything that has been disclosed. I agree with bob, the media has a fantastic ability to make everything blow up. Lets focus on the phone call. Babar was referenced in the phone call. I defer to the former Deputy Assistant attorney general as to whether it is common practice for the attorney general to be flying around the country or the world, excuse me here is my question, why was he doing this . The optics of this, shannon. Shannon you know the outcome the original thing, the australian basset or, it would make sense. He publicly said that. Dont you think its kind of weird, the Inspector General for the d. O. T. Is conducting its own investigation, the u. S. Attorney for connecticut was appointed to conduct the other investigation. So i guess my question is, why does bob barr need to be involved . Doesnt it actually jeopardize the validity of that investigation by allowing himself to become a partisan actor in this . Shannon bob, let me take that to you. There are those that said that the attorney general barr is, as a mediator, introducing u. S. Attorney john to rome. Some of the relevant players here. Trying to get things started, this is our guy, hes on the case. Is that appropriate . Share. The problem is, with foreign actors involved in a doj investigation, titles matter. So having the top Law Enforcement officer from the United States involved is going to speed things up. Sure, people can debate the optics but there is no debate about the legality or propriety of it. So i think its fine. I think william barr has an impeccable reputation and hes looking into that void was crazy about it from the partisan back and forth, the Russian Investigation started with involvement of intelligence agencies from the u. K. Or at least former intelligence people from the u. K. And australia, some other places, and so kind of running that the ground seems to make sense if thats what you want to investigate. People can criticize whether to spend time on that now because we are so far past 2060 and but certainly, the notion that there is anything wrong with it, or its at all anything close to this impeachment level discussion, to me, it is nowhere near it. Its just routine. Spoon the New York Times were on the sideline, trump pressed australian leader to help barr investigate. Kim strassel responding says, know what the New York Times is doing, trying to suggest questions about 2016 are beyond the pale. Since when is getting to the truth a personal political interest they left edwin mueller was investigating a 2016 but now want all further queries to stop. Dave . I guess i go back to, what is the predicate here. And the former doj official asked this same question. Where is there any kind of criminality to this issue . We are assuming some degree of criminality and i understand why the white house is doing this because the president absolutely hates the mueller report. He hates the fact that there are still open questions about to what extent russia helped him win back the election, not that they interfered because we know they did. Did they help him . He cant stomach that. The level of politicalization of this thing, hell never be able to put this to bed. I asked a very civil question, what on earth do they think they are going to find . Wheres the criminality here . Where is the predicate . Shannon do need a criminal predicate . You dont. Heres what they are going to find, what they are trying to find. They are trying to find Australian Government wiretaps and transcripts of conversations between George Papadopoulos and the australian diplomat from the bar shannon which we are told because the u. S. Could not get those things. Did someone ask them to engage in espionage on the u. S. Citizen in order for them to open up the Russian Investigation . Shannon hopefully we will get some of these information. In the meantime, thank you. Should College Athletes get paid . Californias governor just signed a law that may offend amateur sports as we now know it. Bruce castor jim gray and former division i athlete debate after the break. D. Granted. Now we are rebalancing that power. Shannon College Sports as we know it could be on the way to historic change tonight. Californias governor signing a bill that could allow College Athletes to sell their name, image, or likeness to the highest bidder. Neither a university nor the ncaa could stop them. What are the pros and cons . Joining us now to discuss, Fox News Contributor and Sportscaster Jim Gray and former division i college best ballplayer, law school grad. Welcome to both of you. Thank you for having me. Shannon i want to play something out from lebron james, who obviously drafted right out of high school but he says this would have been the situation for him as a college athlete. Pretty much, that 23 jersey wouldve gotten sold all over the place without my name on the back but everybody would have had my likeness. My body would have been on the ncaa basketball game, 2004, me and my mom wouldnt have anything, would not have been able to benefit at all from it. The university would have been able to capitalize on it. Shannon so cody, youve been there. You played d1. What is the argument against allowing these athletes to get some kind of pay whether it is through endorsements or pay through the universities . Yeah, the first thing to say is, i am not lebron james. Nobody else is lebron james. Not even zion williamson. To say that he was going to sell his jersey in abundance to make a lot of money out of it, sure about the 99 100 of student athletes today, Going Forward are not lebron james. He is the generational talent, so i think its a little bit misleading to say that most student athletes are in his predicament. Now the issue is, that if we are going to be paying student athletes come whether its a university or by their name, image, and likeness, that money is siphoned out of an athletic departments ability to give that to other student athletes. So what goes a joint account whe an athletic department, athletic director, can give it to other student athletes in an equitable fashion. If that money is being taken out of that and given to a single student athlete, we risk opportunities for other student athletes. Not only that, we risk an interesting relationship, to say the least, an individual team sprayed of a quarterback is making 100,000 in an offensiveg nothing, im not sure i want to be in that locker room when things get hard. Shannon okay, lets talk about tim table, Heisman Trophy winner. Wellknown quarterback making a run a baseball as well. He says that our culture now is very selfish. He says it encourages students to make it all about them, the student athletes rather than having the team feeling. Heres what he says. Thats why people are more passionate about College Sports than they are about nfl thats why the stadiums are bigger in college than they are in the nfl, because its about your team come about your university. Shannon what about that argument, that we dont want to change the nature of College Sports are they now exist . Is it too late . Hes got it all wrong. I agree with lebron. The ncaa has been so slow in moving. This is not the 1900s anymore. Its not even a 20th century. At the 21st century. If everything was go down well, then that is how things should be. But its not. Its broken. Its been broken for a long time. Its corrupt. You are asking everybody to be able to share all of these profits except for the people who are providing it. So if things were better, wed all be driving around in model ts. Theyve had a committee to reform us for more than 20 years. Theyve made no recommendations. California is right. It will push the ncaa on these people that are generating billions of dollars of revenue, the coaches are touching it, the institutions are touching it, there is neither companies are involved, Television Networks are involved, everybody can get a hold of it except for the people that have no representation and that is the players, the student athletes, the athlete students. Its just been all wrong. This will push them now to make it right. Shannon cody . If i can jump in, the reform i would argue does not need to be at the ncaa level. He needs to be made at the professional level. The nba is the one that bars student athletes from going from high school to the professional ranks immediately where they can profit from their likeness right out of the gate. Even then, there is still opportunities to go pro abroad or you can still play in many leagues, the g league offers select contracts, they are called select contracts combat pay 125,000 to the Top High School student athlete today. By choosing the ncaa, you have chosen your academics and a great opportunity to play as an amateur student athlete. I would argue, that is all the competition you need. Shannon gentlemen, well get cut off. A very interesting conversation. Well have you back. Thank you both very much. Thanks, shannon. Tucker well, good evening and welcome to Tucker Carlson tonight. For just about three years since the day donald trump was inaugurated, the left has worked tirelessly to end his administration by nondemocratic means, if necessary, very much including impeachment. Tonight theyre closer than ever to reaching the goal. And yet, in another reminder that the human nature is more complex than the human genome, they dont appear very happy about it. In fact, the closer the impeachment gets, the more despondent they seem. As the buddha himself once noted, man longs to drink through a lotus blossom only to discover the nectar is the most bitter of all. So washington democrats are close to
