Shannon clearly there was a split here between the prosecutors and the Police Department, who apparently were not consulted at all and they appear to be caught off guard. Something from the new york post, prosecutors just sat in the face of the Jussie Smollett case. Smollett was granted a plea bargain without the most important part the plea. He did not admit guilt. It blamed the cook county States Attorneys Office. Even by chicago standards, this is pretty chicago. I actually agree with David Axelrod and rob emanuel, then there is definitely a strange day here. This is not the first time that came foxx has let the Chicago Police department down. She is one of a new breed of prosecutor, we call them activist prosecutors. She isnt concerned with justice, she is concerned with politics. And she has literally spent in the face of the Chicago Police, and you can tell the way she blindsided the superintendent of the Police Department and the mayor. She has waged war against the Chicago Police, very much like aaron eric holder weaponized during the Obama Administration against Police Forces around the corner, foxx has weaponized the department against the police in chicago. He was treated like a victim, and now you have people blaming the police when the police are not to blame in this case, it is him. To all of our panel, thank you. In the wake of special counsel Robert Muellers findings, republicans are turning their attention to intelligent officials from the Obama Administration. The g. O. P. Wants answers about what the obama team knew and when. Correspondent Kristin Fisher is tracking that tonight. They want the attorney general to testify, but for very different reasons. Democrats want to grill them about the one weak spot for the president , obstruction of justice. Republicans want to know why this investigation into the Trump Campaign was started in the first place, and how high up it went. People who launched the investigation into your campaign, how high up do you think it went . I think it went very high up, i think what happened is a disgrace, i dont believe our country should allow this to happen ever again. Do you think it reached the west wing of the Obama White House . Shannon can you give us anything about the contours, the size of this report, when we will be able to see it . I dont know how large it is, by the report is being looked at for a couple things. We cannot release a grand jury information because that violates the law. They are going to check for mr. Mueller to make sure that everything is grand jury related will be taken out of the report, because the law requires that. He is going to go to the intelligence communities and make sure we dont release sources and methods that may jeopardize our national security. He may talk to some prosecutors who have cases associated with this and see if anything in the report was undercut then. He is going to do all of that in weeks not months. He is going to turn it over to the committee and i think he will come to the senate hopefully sometime in april. Shannon will they get a chance to look at it before it goes public . He decided that they are okay with looking at it before it went public, and i talked to the president just a short while ago and he said let it out. But the bottom line is that mueller has looked at this for two and a half years, he has concluded that no one on the Trump Campaign colluded with the russians, and the facts regarding obstruction were insufficient for him to make a decision, therefore there is no way you could prosecute a case of the prosecutor is unsure. Shannon many of your counterparts dont agree, here is the senator. There was clearly evidence of collusion, and i want to see the Mueller Report, not the summary, for all of the evidence and see how close i came to proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Shannon how does that benefit him . All i can say is my friends on the other side i stood behind mueller. I thought there was a conflict with sessions. I thought the sessions couldnt investigate the campaign he was a part of. I know the president didnt like that but it really wasnt a hard call. If there is an accusation against a campaign, how can somebody in the campaign actually oversee the investigation . So mueller was the right guy, i thought it was a man of great integrity. Every democrat said he is the perfect guy to do this. The verdict is now in, they just cant take the verdict. It doesnt fit the political narrative. You would be doing yourself and your party a Great Service if you would accept the findings of mr. Mueller. He said there was no evidence of collusion between President Trump or anybody on his campaign with the russians, period. Shannon the attorney general quoted that portion of the attorney general in his letter, yet a number of democrats continue to say they dont trust his summary. Or a letter for from the attorney general. They suggest that he is in some way compromised or unable to do his job. They are really hurting himself. I like these people. I stood by mueller, i thought that was my job as a republican to give him the space to look into an accusation, and here is what my democratic friends do. Let this go. There was no grand conspiracy here, mr. Barr is a great man, he is very honorable, he is just telling you what mueller found after two and a half years. I will say this, if they dont accept this, and they keep wanting an outcome in spite of the evidence, they are going to get President Trump reelected on this issue alone. I would say that no one has been indicted for colluding with the russians, and i would say, if the Republican Party had hired mr. Steel to do Opposition Research against Hillary Clinton, and the dossier prepared against clinton came from russian sources that was a bunch of garbage and it was used four times to get a word against a clinton associate, she would be screaming blood and murder. If the two people in charge of the clinton investigation, like trump, and wanted clinton to lose, it would be a very big deal.
