Next for her exlover, fbi agent peter strzok. Former congress been Jason Chaffetz is here to weigh in as well. Hello and welcome to fox news night. Im Shannon Bream in washington. America first is riling up republicans and democrats and europeans in washington and brussels. But how is it going down with Everyday Americans . We are going to check that out. Plus the president e taking aim at germany. Challenging the country to explain a russian pipeline deal and demanding our nato allies up their defense spending to 4 . While simultaneously getting slammed for allegedly causing up to Vladimir Putin. Its a lot. We have team covered. Trace gallagher looking at the history of u. S. Russian meetings. We begin with chief white house course on a john roberts live in brussels for us tonight. Good evening. Shannon, good morning to you from brussels, where the sun is just about to come up. A little less than eight hours not, the the the president will Board Air Force one for london. Teresa may have Something Interesting to say last night. First, after a little bit of rancor in the first day of natal meetings yesterday, the leader seem to put their differences aside in a reception following the meetings last night, the president getting together with the first lady and the german chancellor Angela Merkel smiling, chatting with each other for a number of minutes. Earlier in the day, the president really unloaded on germany and merkel even though he didnt mention her by name for signing the deal with Vladimir Putin for a couple pipelines that will bring russian natural gas right across the baltic sea and straight into germany. The president saying that is a bad deal for nato. Listen. Youre supposed to be guarding against russia and germany goes out and pays billions and billions of dollars a year to russia. Germany is totally controlled by russia. You look at it, germany is a captive of russia. They got rid of their coal plants, they got rid of their nuclear. They are getting much oil and gas from russia. With those comments, the president really pulled the pin on the grenade that he tossed square into the nato summit. Later on, the president had a meeting with the chancellor of germany. They talked about the pipeline, didnt talk about admission. The president saying they had a good meeting of the United States has got a very Good Relationship germany. Listen to what the German Foreign minister said about the president s comments. Translator we are not prisoners either of the United States or russia. We are one of the guarantors have a free world and that will remain the case. The president making contributions to nato big deal. Nato members a couple years ago, four years ago, promised to pledge 2 of their gdp to military spending to help support the alliance, only five out of the 29 nato members are at the 2 . The president encouraging them not to wait until a deadline date of 20204 to do it but to do it earlier. In the joint declaration statement which is a consensus document, it seems all 29 nato members see the need to increase spending on defense. It says fair burden sharing underpins the alliances cohesion, solidarity, credibility and ability to fill our article three and article five commitments. And now back to british Prime Minister theresa may who last night at the need of dinner made some comments about President Trumps upcoming summit with Vladimir Putin. Of course, the president getting a lot of flak back home, facing a lot of opposition vertically from democrats to decide that he is sitting down with Vladimir Putin in helsinki, finland. Theresa may throwing her full support behind the president s meeting. Saying i welcome President Trumps forthcoming meeting with president putin. Open channels of communication between the u. S. And russia are key to managing the risks of confrontation. Theresa may has got some political problems at home. Perhaps shes looking for support from President Trump. But supporting President Trump never really buys her much capital in the u. K. So shannon, very interesting to see how much she was willing to go out on a limb for talk about President Trump and throw that full support behind the upcoming summit. Shannon we are going to talk about it later. John roberts live on the ground with the president. Thank you. Here at home, republicans or Democrats Join forces in the senate today in an effort to curb the president s power to impose tariffs in the name of national security. Republican senator mike brown from south dakota was a yes vote today. He joins us live to talk about that and the president S International travels in meetings this week. Senator, great to have you. Thank you. Shannon why were you a yes vote . Stick we are talking about section 232 of the ninth to 60 to trade enhancement act. In that, its designed for National Defense. The question is whether or not the president is using his powers for National Defense purposes. We are suggesting is that this is not binding but it will pull back in and say Congress Wants to have a role in those discussions. If you are going to interpret all of these different tariffs as being critical in the National Defense of our country. Shannon talking about hundreds of billions now and what people are calling a trade war ramping up of china and other places. To be fair, not all of those are being identified as, qualifying as a tariff under section 232. A lot of it is under a 1970 law. Thats not where were talking about. Going after allies canada and mexico. Its kind of disconnected from what is going on right now. Were having a vote on section 2 30 two tariffs on a day in which he is exercising section 301. Shannon i feel like im going back to law school. Interpretations and citations. Lets move on to where he is today. This is what your counterpart, senator dick durbin, had to say. He doesnt understand the Nato Alliance which for 70 years has kept europe safe and the world safe. He is trashing our allies who have invested lives and their own resources to make it a success. At the same time, he embraces putin, calls him a fine man. It must be impossible for our allies to figure out exactly what the United States is saying. Shannon one of the pieces in the Washington Post said there was a lot of bluster publicly but privately when he said, folks, they felt that a really good conversation. Does he not understand nato or does he understand it better than the last couple president s question mexico a couple things happen. Number one, he came in and he was loaded with regard to the pipeline, it joins another pipeline its already there on the baltic sea, that is the nord stream 1. We asked him to take a strong stand against the creation of the pipeline. Im not going to criticize the president at all for being very forceful in sending the message that this is not good for western europe. Its not good for the United States, and there is no reason why we should be doing business with russia at this point. Yet heres a pipeline that would be providing over 100, lets put it this way, over 110 billion cubic meters of natural gas flowing into germany coming from russia. They are going to have a contract with russia for years to come. The reason why russia wants it is because they dont want to use the pipeline which goes through ukraine. In doing so, it puts ukraine at greater risk. And then you have western europe subject to russia and their monopolistic activities when it comes to the sale of their fuel. Now it puts us in a more difficult position because now our allies who are nato members are basically reliant on russia for natural gas. Shannon the president brought it up today. They are set they are not captives, and germany pushing back saying they are not beholden to russia. Well see how it happens. We look at the first part of the trip. After todays confrontation a meeting with nato leaders, many are wondering how it will compared to an upcoming meeting the president has scheduled with russias president wagner pollutant. Trace gallagher is looking at the history of the meetings between the two nations and how it may go down. Good evening, trace. Good evening, shannon. First meeting between the u. S. And soviet leaders was held in 1943 in tehran, the story and say president Franken Roosevelt and soviet leader Joseph Stalin established a rapport but despite being allies, trust between the two was in short supply. In 1959, it marked the first visit to the United States by soviet leader. It was Nikita Khrushchev and Dwight Eisenhower who agreed on a number of issues, raising hopes for improved relations, but the hopes soon faded when the soviets tracked on an american u2 spy plane. The 1961 meeting between john f. Kennedy and khrushchev was by most accounts a disaster. The leaders clashed on the number of issues, including the soviet plan to build a wall in berlin. Kennedy later said the meeting was the worst thing in my life. In new jersey, 1967, president Lyndon Johnson and alexi close again failed to agree on anything significant yet because of a friendly atmosphere, the summit was called the spirit of glassboro. Leader brezhnev and Richard Nixon agreed to set limits to their arsenals and set up a hotline to prevent a nuclear war from breaking out. Mikhail gorbachev and Ronald Reagan held some of 1985 and 87 but the 87 summit in washington is where they signed the Intermediaterange Nuclear forces treaty. Marking the realization of president reagans impossible vision. Watch. Though my pronunciation may give you difficulty, the maximum is [speaking russian] trust but verify. Boris yeltsin and bill clinton met twice and developed a genuine rapport. Clinton later revealed that yeltsin got so drunk he was found outside the white house in his underwear trying to hail a cab. During his first term as russian president , Vladimir Putin met with george w. Bush in 2001. Watch. I found them to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul. President obama met with both Dmitry Medvedev and m putin, though the Putin Exchange was had to be frosty. Shannon trace gallagher, thank you very much. Our the top story, for taylor lisa page is defying a congressional subpoena by refusing to appear for a capitol hill interview. Her lawyer is accusing g. O. P. House lawmakers of being bullie bullies. Chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge is following the new developments tonight. Good evening, catherine. Shannon, the house judiciary and Oversight Committee sent this letter that lays out three options. If a lawyer lisa page can show up tomorrow at a public hearing with her former lover and colleague, agent peter strzok, give a closeddoor deposition friday or face more legal trouble. It does appear that lisa page apparently has something to hide. The republican chairman with direct oversight for the Justice Department and the bureau lay down a marker for the former fbi lawyer who is under subpoena. She has been incomplete defiance of cooperation with the House Judiciary Committee and oversight government and Reform Committee for seven months now. She should comply with this now before she is held in contempt of congress, which could happen as soon as friday. Pages lawyers released a photo of the client to a schedule to give a closeddoor deposition today on capitol hill in front of two hospital stay late last night, page and her legal team pulled out, blaming the fbi for failing to provide timely access to pages notes and records. Telling fox in the statement to mothers no basis for plants that page has any thing to hide or is unwilling to testify. Accusing the house panel bullying tactics. The Committee Chairman countered that he had to call in federal officers because page and her team were playing games. Our attorneys have had medications with her attorney for nearly a month now. We sent the marshals to her house to serve the subpoena. They had to go back three times before they finally were able to reach her. Im very disturbed. The House Speaker said page is obligated to appear. She wants to come plead the fifth, thats her choice but a subpoena to testify before congress is not optional. Its mandatory. Two weeks ago, fbi agent peter strzok, who had an extramarital affair with page, was on capitol hill for his own 11 hour closeddoor deposition. Republicans were meant focused on the text messages, including his august 2016 exchange where page writes trump is not ever going to become president , right . Right . Page responded no, noise not. We will stop. Illegal source post to strzok told fox he still plans to appear before thou spinal thursday. That session is public. His team wants this transcript from his deposition released. Shannon thank you very much. Embattled fbi agent peter strzok is still expected tomorrow morning on capitol hill for the public hearing but will lisa page show up too . Lets talk about it with former republican congressman and Fox News Contributor, Jason Chaffetz. Welcome. A lot a backandforth. Let me tell you about what were getting from lisa pages lawyer. She sang through her actions and words, lisas made it abundantly clear that she will cooperate with his cooperation. While all she is asking us to be treated as other witnesses have. She goes on to say theres no basis for claims that lisa has anything diverse unwilling to testify, adding the two committees bullying tactics are unnecessary. What do you think . Thats pretty funny, shannon. Youve got to be kidding me. She could have testify voluntarily. She denied that. She said she was going to accept electronic serving of papers. Then they sent the papers over. Then they denied it. They had to send the u. S. Marshal tauro multiple times. She was supposed to come and testify under his deposition. Failed to do that. Hasnt disclosed to the committee whether she would attend tomorrow. I talked to Committee Members in the last 30 minutes and they still didnt know whether or not she was going to attend. Chairman goodlatte is bending over backwards to let her do a deposition if she wants, on friday. Going to extraordinary lengths but this is a person thats going to have to come before congress. Shannon her Attorney Says finally after 11 00 p. M. Last night they got a call back from doj about the documents they wanted to review, things they thought they needed to have, they say theyre trying to Work Together make sure it happens. Lets talk about the options in this letter from chairman doughty and chairman goodlatte. About what they say her options are. Starting proceedings on friday unless you voluntarily appear with strzok tomorrow morning. That is public. Or you can record. Deposition that would be private 10 00 a. M. Friday or you are welcome to attend both. I dont know how congress could bend over more backwards to accommodate her. There is no duty or obligation under any of the rules to allow her to see documents from her former employer. She has asked to come testify before congress. She completes can plead the fifth that she likes but she haw up. Unfortunately in the past, congress is not taking this seriously. We tried to have brian peg leona, the i. T. Specialist for Hillary Clinton, come testify. He failed to show up twice and guess what, the only one that can charge that person and that can prosecute that person is the department of justice. Attorney general sessions refused to do that and i worry that thats going to happen again. Shannon quickly we are almost out of time. The ranking democrat on house judiciary, the man is that he would be heading up the impeachment trial of President Trump if the democrats retake the house, jerry nadler, says its a political charade, this will think of this investigation. Its amazing that members of congress would want to bury their head in the sand. If you listen to adam schiff and jerry gather on the democrats, we would never have heard about most of the things that have gone on in this case. Its only because of investing it in efforts and oversight which has been in place since 1814 that we have learned these things. There was a 560 page Inspector General report that documented the bias and the animus. Congress has a right and responsibility under the constitution to pursue that and fix it. Its got to happen with her as a general counsel deep into the weeds there at the department of justice to be able to clarify things before congress. Shannon all right, she has two options. She can take one or both. Well see what she does and whether the preceding start on friday. A lot of folks worry there are teeth to those things. Jason, great to have you. Come back soon. Thanks, shannon. Thank you. Shannon noted journalist Glenn Greenwald makes a fox news night debut and he has a surprising take on the putintrump summit as well as the media. You dont want to miss it. Supreme Court NomineeBrett Kavanaugh making the rounds on capitol hill, meeting with senators as democrats a lot of stops they say they will do anything to block his confirmation. I think if we convince the American People that this nominee will undo health care and preexisting conditions and undo roe, we will get a majority of the senate. Shannon joining us next, Justin Walker is a former clerk for both Justice Kennedy and judge kavanaugh. He is live when we return. Ntleme just received word the louisiana purchase, is complete instant purchase notifications from capital one. So you wont miss a purchase large, small, or very large. Technology this helpful. In fact, drivers who switched from geico to esurance saved an average of 412. Thats auto and Home Insurance for the modern world. Esurance. An allstate company. Click or call. Shannon as judge Brett Kavanaugh becomes a Charm Offensive on capitol hill, is it possible the confirmation battle could be even more polarized and partisan than what he had to get through to get confirmed to his current seats . Lets check it out with kristin fisher. Good evening. You know better than anyone that one of the big challenges Going Forward is judge kavanaughs unusually long paper trail. He has written some 300 opinions over the last 12 years. Democrats are undoubtedly going to use some of the sheer volume of that material that they have to sift through as a kind of stall tactic. Tonight fox has confirmed the Deputy Attorney general has taken a very unusual step to perhaps speed up that process. Deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein is asking all 93 u. S. Attorneys to provide three prosecutors each to help review judge kavanaughs writings. According to a letter first obtained by the new york times. We are expecting about a million documents to come flowing through. Senate democrats arent waiting for those documents before launching their assault on President Trumps second supreme Court Nominee. On day two of kavanaughs capitol hill meet and greet, they held a press conference highlighting kavanaughs record on obamacare. Rise up. Before so many of you will no longer be able to get insurance because someone in your family is sick. Rise up before its too late. Democrats are one vote short of a majority needed to block kavanaughs confirmation. Today republicans like senator orrin hatch sounded optimistic after meeting in private with the nominee. He is a judge with a lot of experience. I experts confirmation to go well. Republicans hoping to have kavanaugh confirm before the midterms when democrats have a chance to take back the senate. Today the president told us that if they want to win Supreme Court another cortex, dont obstruct and resist but rather do it the oldfashioned way, win elections. Donald trump ran on a list of which she was on and said he would repeal obamacare. If youve got a problem with President Trumps pick, then you need to turn out and beat him next time. Another reason republicans are optimistic today one senator, joe manchin, said kavanaugh has all the right qualities and that he will defer to his constituents when casting his vote. His constituents are of course in the red state of west virginia. Shannon they are in the reelection is looming. Kristin, thank you very much. While modern days of room for nominees look to Justice Ruth Bader ginsburg 1993 confirmation as a guideline, for declining to discuss how they potentially would rule on hot button issues, democrats apparently want a break without president and saves only for that judge kavanaugh tell them how you personally feels about certain topics. Joining me now to discuss it, former law clerk to Justice Anthony kennedy and george Brett Kavanaugh, its great to see you tonight, to have you with us as we look at and see where this is going. Justin, you are with us last week. I wasnt here but you were reacting i am sure to the selection or the potential selection of judge kavanaugh. Now that we know hes the man, how are you feeling . I am so excited for him. I am so excited for the country. I think the gunter got just a little bit of a glimpse of what judge kavanaugh is like as a jue gave that great speech from the white house on the night of his announcement. I think the more they learn about him, how he coaches his little Girls Basketball team and how we spent a judge on the second most Important Court on the country for 12 years and how he is told time and time again for important principles of judicial restraint, independence, fair mindedness, i think america is just going to love Brett Kavanaugh. Shannon you know there are some conservatives who are concerned about him. Let me read you a little bit from david french. He says he went to the establishment. He chose a man than any republican president what im nominated. He made the best safe choice he could. The president blinked. There it was for the first time in trumps traditional wars, palpable sense of opportunity lost. Oh, my goodness. Theres just not a single word in that statement that is true or based on fact. I say that as an admirer of david french who often agrees with the things that he writes. This idea first of all that david french writes, judge kavanaugh is the opposite of a conventional georgetown Cocktail Party d. C. Elite. He would much rather have a beer and watch a hockey game. In terms of the kind of judge he is, he is the definition of extraordinary. He may be the most qualified and credentialed nominee to the Supreme Court in a generation or two. 12 years on the d. C. Circuit, 300 opinions, move most impressively of all, 13 different indications by the Supreme Court of an opinion judge kavanaugh wrote. Thats an unparalleled record of excellence. Shannon lets talk about the idea that democrats say they expect him in his hearing that they want to hear how he personally feels about a number of things. Here is chuck schumer, of course the senates top democrat. The next nominee has an obligation, a serious and solemn obligation to share their personal views on these legal issues. Shannon here is what Justice Ginsburg said in her confirmation hearing in 1993. A judge must decide impartially and can offer no forecast, no hint. For that would show not only disregard for the specifics of the particular case. It would display disdain for the entire judicial process. Shannon how do you see this playing out for judge kavanaugh . Justice ginsburg was exactly correct. I expect judge kavanaugh to explain to the committee that hes happy to talk about his approach to the law in general terms. That approach includes fidelity to the text of statutes and the constitution. It includes an appreciation for history and structure and president. But i think the idea that judge kavanaugh should be the first supreme Court Nominee to talk about his personal views on hypothetical situations, first of all, its unprecedented. Secondly it misconstrues the role of a judge. The judge its personal views should come into play. A judge not invent the law. They should simply apply the law as its written. Shannon hypotheticals will always get you in trouble. We learned that in law school. Justin walker, they give a being with us. See you again soon. Democrats introducing legislation into the house to abolish i. C. E. What is the backup plan . Coming up, noted journalist Glenn Greenwald is here. Leland vittert is here to tell us what hes found out. Good evening. Good evening. A long way that the democrats are thinking could become law. The democrats who want to abolish icn are pushing legislation on the wrong side of Public Opinion by a more than two to one margin among the democrats on the one side of the argument, new york mayor bill de blasio, currently in hot water for allegedly breaking u. S. Immigration law by crossing illegally into mexico and then back into the United States. It happened while attempting to visit a texas border to detentn facility. Still unclear what him showing up at the facility has to do with his duties of mayor of new york but the chief at the Border Patrol noted de blasio, a security guard, and another mayor refused to stop when confronted by his men. From a lecture to the new York City Police commissioner from chief patrol agent aaron hall. The agent or to the group to remain in place, explaining he needed to advises superiors of the situation and transport them to a port of entry for inspection as required by law. Disregarding the agents order, the group departed the area and illegally cross back into mexico. De blasio said he did nothing wrong. I wont be silent and i want to accept effort to intimidate. I will not sit idly by as the president rips children from their families, and i will not let him continue his efforts to destroy the lives of these young people. Less extreme democrats may not be intimidated but are slightly worried about aligning and alienating so much of america. Thats not where the majority of the cannons and other Election Officials in the Democrat Party are. President trump and republicans meantime love the debate and have even dared democrats to join that abolishi. C. E. Train. Democrats want open biters and i dont mind crying. Want no crime and we want borders or borders mean something. Remember this. Without borders, you do not have a country. Democrats trying to figure out how to fight back against that attack from President Trump while not alienating that very far left extreme of the party that wants to abolish i. C. E. Shannon the panel will debated. Stick around. Thank you. Next, will the trumpputin summit va success . How do you define it . Shannon according to analysts, the upcoming summit is being viewed as a big win for russian president Vladimir Putin. Based on the fact that a oneonone meeting is even happening. Glenn greenwald, cofounding editor and columnist at the intercept joins us now to talk about that and more. Great to have you with us. Before we Start Talking about russia, i want to give you a chance to speak to your critics who say you are too cozy with russia to be able to be speaking about it objectively. Malcolm nance, someone you have had dustup with said Glenn Greenwald shows his true colors as an agent of trump and moscow. Now we know why he helped snowden defect. Covers for wikileaks attacks on democracy. He is deep in the kremlin pocket. How do you respond . Its bizarre because for seven decades during the cold war, the far right made exactly those kinds of smears and accusations against democrats and liberals like the people who appear on msnbc and now suddenly everything is reversed and liberals and Democrats Use that as their favorite tactic for smearing people who have views that are different from theirs. Namely, they accuse people of being agents of the kremlin are paid employees or operatives for Vladimir Putin. They just make things up. They just fabricate them out of whole cloth. And its pretty clear that msnbc in particular is encouraging that kind of long and that kind of fabrication. Ive been to russia twice my entire life for about two days each. Ive never met latimer putin. Ive had no dealings whatsoever with russian operatives. But because i see some of these questions differently than the standard msnbc democrat, they lie and smear. Its become standard course in u. S. Clinical discourse. Shannon let me ask you, the criticisms russia has faced from the International Community about annexing crimea, their role in syria, the poisoning of a couple of folks allegedly with a russian connection on u. K. Soil. Meddling in european or u. S. Elections, where are you . Do they bear some responsibility . Sure. I think its important though that we ask for evidence and see evidence before believing accusations. I think we all shouldve learned the lesson from the iraq war and the vietnam war before that the claims from our government and other governments unaccompanied by evidence can often be wrong. Theres really been no evidence presented for example in the case of the poisoning in the u. K. Into my mind, even that Vladimir Putin ordered the hacking of the dnc and John Podestas emails. That the russian government was behind that. But certainly they have committed war crimes in syria. There was aggression in ukraine. Its not like russia is angelic. The u. S. Commits war crimes. The u. S. Has committed aggression. The question is given these are two Nuclear Armed highly powerful countries, do we want to have them talking with one another and trying to be peaceful with one another . Or do we want them to be belligerent and as aggressive as possible with one another . I think they more they are talking and the more they are attempting to get along, the better. Shannon theres a lot we can unpack there. We could spend in our time on each of those things and you know there will be those who object to any got a moral equivalency between the u. S. And russia and some of those things have happened. There intel experts who firmly believe there is a connection to the poisoning to russia and the u. K. Thats now we are here to debate but i want to ask you. Prime minister theresa may is going to share with folks at the dinner tonight. We are hearing this. The p. M. Will say our longterm objective remains a constructive relationship with moscow. We must keep engaging. Thats why i welcome President Trumps forthcoming meeting with president putin, open channels of communication between the u. S. And russia are key to managing the risks of confrontation. She goes on to add as we engage russia, we must do so from a position of unity and strength. Holding out hope for Better Future but also clear and unwavering on where russia needs to change his behavior for this to become a reality. As long as russia persistent efforts to undermine our interest in efforts, we must deter and counter them. Shes talking about engagement from a position of strength. The question becomes what is that mean . Although there is a narrative in the media that President Trump is controlled by the kremlin or too cozy with Vladimir Putin, the Trump Administration has been more confrontational with moscow then president obama was. President obama refused to send legal arms to ukraine because he didnt want to provoke putin whereas trump did that. Obama refused to bomb a solids forces in syria. Trump has on that as well. The idea that trump has expelled a lot of diplomats the idea that somehow the u. S. And the russians are too cozy is not borne out by the facts. Of course everyone thinks he should negotiate from a position of strength for the question is what is that mean . I think its a good thing that President Trump wants to talk as much as possible with the leader of russia. Shannon how to respond to we have sitting u. S. Senators who say that they dont believe i have the confidence that our u. S. President should be able to sit down and meet with Vladimir Putin not alone. How do you respond . In 2007 and a armament as well, liberals were excited because in a debate barack obama had with Hillary Clinton when they were running for the democratic nomination, they asked would you meet, without conditions, preconditions with the leaders of north korea or iran, cuba, venezuela, a series of adversaries and barack obama said yes. Hillary clinton said no. Liberals loved obama for that. I think the idea that we shouldnt have leaders talking to one another is a very dangerous on and something that liberals recognize as recently as 2007 and 2008. I havent seen any evidence that President Trump is any less able to sit down with foreign leaders than any other president before him. Shannon it seems that thats definitely the way he wants to tackle it. He feels confident and hes meeting these things head on. We will see, as the meeting in helsinki comes up in a few days. Glenn greenwald, thank you for joining us. Stay with us. We will be right back. Shannon a group of House Democrats is working hard on a piece of legislation to abolish i. C. E. With tonights panel, Fox News ContributorLeslie Marshall and the Washington Examiner correspondent gabby morrongiello. Lets talk about this. A democratic congressman from wisconsin is proposing this bill. Heres his explanation. Unfortunately the president has created this situation where i. C. E. Isnt doing what it was created to do. Its being used as his own personal police force, and in those actions, its actually making us less safe because the critical functions of i. C. E. Can now longer happened when the president has got them going after people injured as in workplaces. Its shannon gabby. I think republicans obviously are not going to be going along with it. But they are probably not going to do much to stop it either because i think a lot of them right now feel as though this is actually beneficial to them. Abolishing i. C. E. Which is the agency primarily in charge of letting people come in and out of this country, is so far outside of where the average american stands on immigration n opportunity for democrats to sort of selfemployed. They are going to be forcing the less progressive members of their conference to get behind legislation that would or potentially could backfire come november during the midterms. There is a polo this morning that showed 43 of democrats support abolishing i. C. E. Versus 54 of all voters who oppose it including 54 of independente voters democrats need. Shannon from a white house release, they say abolishing i. C. E. Remain open borders. Drug offenders, gang members, child molesters and other sex offenders. Calls to abolish i. C. E. Are an insult to our heroic Law Enforcement officers. I dont think democrats are right on this. I am a democrat and i dont think this is the way to go. The majority of americans dont want to abolish i. C. E. But the majority of americans are not happy with an executive order that the president gave which had i. C. E. Not just enforcing laws or other boats but it went further. Of course we know wanted to do families and children. They are still separated. That is a way to go i think for democrats because thats the area where they could have their blue if not just from within their own party and have unity. I think a lot of people are looking at what happened to new york and saying we need to go far left. Castro was saying abolish i. C. E. And that worked for her. Thats not going to work for the party. It is not going to work for americans and for people that are on the edge them if you dont like trump or maybe upset with the Republican Party and establishment and it hasnt gone the way theyve liked. Come the midterms, i dont feel it should be the headline for the Democratic Party and the agenda. I think its giving the president and republican some fire to counter with. If you stick to what the democrats were highlighting earlier, the separation of children from their families and the poor policies and the need for reformation of i. C. E. And have i. C. E. Return to the way it was, thats a winner. Shannon quickly, a number of senators, democratic senators, when asked do you think they should abolish i. C. E. , theyve been careful about their leg which but there are some elements who want to see happen. Is there a split in the party . I think it is a split and thats exactly why dont think i dont want to see a repeat of the berniehenry case for me in the midterms or in the next general election. I think its dangerous that democrats will split on this issue and we are seeing that right now. I think a lot of democrats also see it as this nonsensical solution. It is one thing to got this entire agency, look at some of the areas that a been more controversial it and its another thing to sort of symbolically replace it with another agency. What does that accomplish . I think thats what the republicans are going to say. Saying that they want open borders will hurt democrats. Shannon thank you both for being here. Stay with us.
