They are 67 delegates available. 23 will come from a statewide vote, 44 are determined by Congressional Districts, candidates as of right now there are four who meet the viability and as we rate the Congressional District results, sanders is winning colorado by a good clip but unless theres some sort of major change overnight, they will all share in a victory. Democrats have this thing called the superdelegates, the elite delegates who can come in and put the thumb on the scale if they think the voters across the country got it wrong and i think thats wrong and its the establishment of their party that is their choice, thats other party runs but thats what hurt Bernie Sanders in 2016. They change the rules so in 2020 they come in on the second vote but i think that is a real concern the Sanders Campaign has and its something im saying as an observer and something a lot of pundits are pointing out as well. Not here in texas, in 2014 both of us got about 50 of the hispanic vote, we did it because of the policies we talked about. We as republicans are prolife. Democrats are not, many hispanics are. They will stay home and not vote for an antigod, antiprotection of life democrat and thats with the democrats are. Our policies are for law and order on the border and the majority of hispanics support that i know. I got 50 of hispanics and so did greg abbott when we ran. As we look at the polling and talk to hispanic voters, if i go into a room with 100 hispanic voters who have always voted democrat and i say im prolife, im procharter schools, im prosecure borders, im profamily, im prosmall government for entrepreneurial economic opportunity, i walked out of that room with 25 or 30 votes but you send joe biden into a room of hispanics, 100 of them have already voted republican and he says im going to take your guns, im going to kill a baby in the womb, im going to open up the borders and raise your taxes, joe biden doesnt walk out of there with one. Do you think they have a real aversion to bernie versus biden . No question, bernie, and the battle between socialism and senility, the democrats have a terrible set of choices in front of them. Bernie does make things a little easier because we can skip a step. We dont have to explain to people that the positions are all socialist, but the reality is, bidens position and every bit as socialist, he just doesnt embrace the label. And the people he has around him, they are going to be a millstone around his neck as much as bernies embracement of socialism is. That is not a set of policies any texan will stomach. He now endorsing biden, that is a weight that is going to pull biden down. In the reality is theres just not the excitement on the democrat side in texas. And dont get me wrong, theyve been saying theyre going to flip texas for years, in 2014 they said they were going to flip texas. Now they are saying theyre going to flip texas. They are going to be just as wrong in 2020 as they were in 2014, because President Trump and our slate found the pilot, we are going to win from the white house to the courthouse. Shannon you know a lot of folks on both sides of the aisle thought the beto orourke im a ted cruz race was closer than they thought it would be, and certainly not a comfortable margin for republicans. Oh, none of us are satisfied with how that turned out, but there were a whole bunch of factors that went into that. I mean, senator cruz raised what would have been a national record, 38. 9 million. No other Senate Candidate in the u. S. Had raised that much. Orourke raised double, 80. 3 million, an extra 40 million, and even with the extra 40 million, he couldnt make it up. Although, he did some smart things, and one of the smartest things he did was rolled out big staff plan. In the last month of the election, he had hundreds of field staff out. Well, we rolled out a plan where we already have more field staff in the Republican Party of texas deployed then we have in the last two elections combined, and we are set to have hundreds of field staff deployed by this june. Not only that, but we have thousands of volunteers. Weve already got 3,300 volunteers deployed, on our way to 10,000 volunteers. Shannon well, it is a huge prize for whoever picks it up tonight and the primary, and it is going to be an even bigger prize, come fall, for the people vying to become our next president. There are 67 delegates available here in the state of colorado. Here is the way they will be distributed 23 come from the statewide vote. Than 44 are determined by the Congressional Districts. Candidates must meet a 15 threshold in order to receive delegates, and as of right now, there are four candidates who meet that viability, and as we await the Congressional District results, sanders is winning colorado by a good clip, but unless theres some sort of major change overnight, they will still all share in some sort of victory here. You have four candidates out here who managed to meet the 15 threshold, which is a great thing. It goes to show how much investment we see in colorado early on for potential candidates. This was a male and valid primary, but thousands waited to drop off their ballots yesterday and today, or opted to vote in person, since the lat president ial nominating contest, a few things have changed. It is no longer a caucus state, but now i primary, and it allows unaffiliated voters to participate for the First Time Ever in a primary or caucus. In 17yearolds who will be 18 by november 3rd were allowed to vote. In terms of candidate campaign investment, bloomberg spent the most, and opened an office in every Congressional District, and others, though, not so much.
