And new information tonight on what happened with the ukrainian plane crash. New video of the final moments in the sky as we investigate why it went down. Hello. Welcome to fox news at night. Im Shannon Breen in washington. Fox Team Coverage tonight. Were standing by with the latest from the hill including brand new details of whats going to happen to the House Democrat articles of impeachment. Thats where we start tonight. Good evening, matt. Good evening. Its a rowdy, energized, President Trump rally here in the critical state of ohio. A state that the president won in 2016 here in toledo, in lieu kast county, a county that Hillary Clinton won in 2016. We are just south of the critical state of michigan. Tonight, the president s campaign is likely hoping to have an impact of voters here in ohio and those who made a short drive from michigan. Today the president touched on all of the topics of the evening. But he did not mention anything about the ukrainian plane reported by being shut down by iran. Qasem soliemani, the president said he prevented another benghazilike attack. The president says he did not have time to call up nancy pelosi and wait a couple of days to discuss it, saying soliemani was on the move planning other attacks. He was a bad guy. He was a blood thirsty terror and hes no longer a terrorist. Hes dead. And yet, now i see the radical left democrats have expressed outrage over the termination of this. Instead, they should be outraged by the soliemani crimes. Theyre a favorite target of the president as it related to killing soliemani. Democrats would have leaked the news of soliemani to the press and the president touched on impeachment once again saying he did nothing wrong. You should get permission from congress. You should tell us what you want to do so we can call up the fake news thats back there and we can leak it. She doesnt want to put in the articles, theyre so weak. Theyre so pathetic. At one point tonight the protesters held up the rally because of protesters that were protesting him saying no war. They ripped down the signs. Attacking his opponent like pete butigieg. The president said he hopes biden becomes the president. I tell you, i hope its joe. Because he will hear wheres hunter every single debate. And, tonight the president also conducted what he called a free poll by asking the thousands of people inside of the arena whether he should change his slogan to make America Great again to keep America Great. And the audience overwhelmingly applauded louder for changing the slogan to keep America Great. But the president said hes kind of superstition superstitious and hes going to use both of them. Shannon . Shannon a little field testing. The House Democrats celebrating the nonbinding efforts reining in the powers as commander in chief and were worried that the impeachment trial could start as early as next week. Good evening, kevin. So, for those outside of the beltway, what are we to make of what was passed in the house tonight . Okay. Going to make it easy for the folks that are sort of awash in washington politics. First of all, it was nonbinding, a nice way of saying it has no political teeth. B, it will not become a law because, again, its nonbinding. But, i think c is important too. And that is it does achieve a political goal for democrats, which is to say, yes, they do want to make sure that the president knows and for that matter, the entire world knows, that no matter what, his agenda will be challenged at every turn and in this instance, as it relates to the execution of war or aggressive action towards iran, nothing will happen without the consent of congress. So heres part of the resolution. Congress has not authorized the president to use military force against iran. Congress hereby directs the president to terminate the use of the United States armed forces to engage in hostilities in or against iran or any part of the government or military. Now, that resolution as you know comes after the Surgical Strike that rid the world of the terror leader, soliemani whos responsible for the deaths of hundreds of u. S. Service personnel. But, to the surprise of many, shannon, there was bipartisan opposition to and support for that resolution. This war powers resolution was worthy of support. It did not criticize the president or say he was wrong in killing soliemani. He did say if any president wants to drag our nation into another forever middle east war that they require the approval of the United States congress. Were apologizing to the iranians . With a nonbinding resolution that is nothing more than a press release, madame speaker. It has no effect. It doesnt do anything. Strong words from mark meadows, perhaps the strongest tweet, however, in congress came from texas will hurd who expressed his disappointment in the democrats this way, after almost a decade as a cia officer in the middle east and southeast asia, i never thought id see the iranian government be able to manipulate members of congress, democratic president ial candidates, and the western media. As for white house and the statement tonight, shannon, hogan gidley said the resolution was ridiculous noting it had no power over the president. Shannon . Shannon the other big one tonight. Impeachment . Where are we . Any word on the movement of the articles . Ive been on the phone a lot. Not just tonight, but obviously for the last several days sort of getting a sense of what the white house really thought. And soon well get the articles of impeachment from the house perhaps as soon as tomorrow, which obviously will be very big news. That would move the process forward. And that would end, effectively, the pelosiled stall. And, at least ostensibly, would be the beginning of the senates hand in justice. Which if Mitch Mcconnell has his way would likely begin and end with the speedy trial, one that could in all likelihood begin as soon as sometime next week. 67 votes needed to remove the president from office. Anything is possible, in washington, chances of that happening are slimtonone. But well be watching back together. Shannon, back to you. You and i will cover it. Thank you so much. The next guest made headlines about being fired all about the president s position about president ial power when it comes to action in iran. Joining us now, republican senator for utah, mike lee, who sits on the judiciary committee. Well talk about impeachment too if it heads over there. First of all, let me play a little bit of the president talking about you and secretary pompeo talking about that briefing and well get to the reaction. I get along great with mike lee. Ive never seen him like that. Other people have called and they said it was the best presentation theyve ever seen. I was one of the briefers. I thought we did a dynamite job. I mean that in the truest sense, that we did our level best to present them with all of the facts that we could in that setting. Two things, have you spoke on the the president. He supports my position. He more than any other president in my lifetime and your lifetime i think since youre a lot younger than i am, has shown Great Respect and restraint in exercising his commander in chief power. I respect it. My frustration there was that the briefers paid inadequate attention to giving us the details necessary to assess the situation and where it goes. And more importantly, the next steps, on what level of authorization they need to obtain from congress and under what circles. They were completely refusing to engage on that issue. Okay. The next step. And shame on them for doing it. Shannon next step your frustration wasnt about the intelligence you were given about the soliemani strike, it was about the next step and what role congress should be playing. I never said the attack was wrong. Never once. I acknowledged im willing to accept the proposition that it was good for the american people, it was safe. It enhanced their safety. And i never challenged their basis for doing it. But they should have given us more information on it so we could assess it. And more importantly, they should have engaged on the topic of where we go from here. They refused to acknowledge we had an appropriate role, it was shameful. Unconstitutional. Wrong for them to do it. The house today has passed a nonbinding resolution saying he took for the president what he can and cant do moving forward without congressional action. Nancy pelosi defended that. They said this is Congress Making a statement but it has no binding effect on the president. I know youre more interested on the senate side getting involved in what tim kahne the democrat has proposed moving forward. What was that . Why would you sign on . The kahne resolution is noncontroversial. It says that moving forward, setting aside what happened with soliemani, moving forward, if we were to engage in more hostilities between the u. S. Military and the government of iran, the executive branch needs to go to congress and get authorization from congress to do that. I dont think anyone disagrees with that. We make a carveout there for any attack that is necessary to repel an attack on the United States. Thats well understood that thats established in the constitutional law. No one should fear that. A couple of impressions on impeachment. Speaker pelosi is not ready to send over the articles. First of all, could be a complete coverup and there may be a dismissal of the whole thing. She said this is why the senate would dismiss the case without hearing it. Documents, documentation, witnesses, facts, truth. Thats what theyre afraid of. Your response. She gave us a grab bag of nouns. Shes engaging in paranoid fantasy about the fact that shes afraid of what we may or may not do with her articles of impeachment. Look, its not our fault she decided to bring unfounded, baseless, impeachment act occasions against the president of the United States. Shes scared to death of the fact that were going to drop kick this thing to next tuesday and were not going to give it the time of day. We are, in fact, going to give it a fair hearing. We are, in fact, going to listen to them. But its not going to save her from the fact that they they are baseless, unfounded, morally irresponsible accusations. We had a bit of time. As you said, i want you to respond to the headline from bloomberg. Com and how mike lee may vote to impeach trump. He feels hes been wrong and unconstitutional to his acts and the articles and the headlines for the case on why you might vote him out. Nonsense. I dont know if youve legalized marijuana and his predictions. Theres no scenario in which i can imagine doing that. If you look at the evidence they presented in the house of representatives, theres not a scintilla of support suggesting the president of the United States has done anything impeachable. I dont think hes done anything wrong. Well see how he proceeds if he does. Always good to see you. Thank you. Ukrainian commercial plane that crashed near teherans airport killing almost 180 passengers and crew was mistakenly shot down by the iranians. The best information were getting is a constant look at iran and the infrared signature on the missile launch. Its one of the ways they knew about the attack on bases using missiles and the same satellites picked up the launch of two surfacetoaramis sills in the explosion of the passenger plane. This grainy cell phone video appears to show the final seconds of Ukraine Airlines flight 752 in the streak of the missile that brought it down after takeoff from teherans airport. Climbing at 8,000 feet, experts say the boeing 737 passenger jet could have been mistaken for an incoming u. S. Missile or attacking planes, the 176 onboard did not stand a chance. Among the passengers were dozens of canadians now the Prime Minister wants answers. We have intelligence from multiple sources including our allies and our own intelligence. The evidence indicates that the plane was shot down by an iranian surfacetoair missile. Canadian crash investigators are heading to the scene unclear what the iranians will let them or representatives from boeing c including the allimportant black boxes. It was flying at a pretty rough neighborhood. Somebody could have made a mistake. Some people say its mechanical. I dont think thats a question. U. S. Officials say a russianmade gauntlet fired two missiles. Iran had their air defenses on high alert in the hours after the attack on u. S. Bases in iraq. But today, a democratic lawmaker blamed President Trump. If what is being projected is true, this is yet another example of Collateral Damage from the actions that have been taken in a provocative way by the president of the United States. This is not the first time u. S. Iran fighting has brought down a passenger jet during high tensions in the persian gulf in 1988. A u. S. Guided missile cruiser shot down iran Airlines Flight 655 killing 290 people onboard. In the end, shannon, the u. S. Paid more than 60 million to the families of those killed. Thank you for the recap. Whats going on tonight. Hundreds of internal questions that raised questions about the simulators of the 737 max that was grounded after two deadly crashes. In an april, 2017 exchange of two instant messages, two employees expressed complaints about the max with the flight management computer. The unnamed employee, one wrote, this airplane is designed by clowns who in turn are supervised by monkeys. Up next, Rush Limbaugh takes on critics of the president s America FirstForeign Policy. Call, click or visit a store today. Its not about how bad they are, its about how good we are, protecting the people in a way that prevents war. This country, for too long, has had a Foreign Policy that is rooted in the notion that we provoke the rest of the world. That we are the problems, that were not the solution. And that it is our super power status that is the problem. Were too powerful. It isnt fair. Were too big. It isnt fair. And the rest of the world hates us because of that. None of that is true. Well, the iran debate hitting new lows tonight as both sides here in the u. S. Accuse each other of warmongering or recklessness or worse in the afterfact of the missile attacks, Pete Buttigieg suggesting that come police it in the deaths of the jetliner as a growing number of experts believe it was brought down by the iranian missile. Innocent civilians were dead because they were caught in the middle of unnecessary and unwanted military tit for tat. My thoughts are with the families, the loved ones of all of the 176 souls lost aboard this flight. State Department Diplomat and mcfarland, trump, washington, and we the people, welcome to both of you. Thank you. Kt, what do you make of those who are drawing the line between the president s actions and the innocent lives that were lost on that plane . You know, i think the tragedy is donald trump is the guy who wants to put America First and hes running against people saying lets blame America First. Its a tragedy not just for the country and the political divisiveness in the u. S. , but other countries look at us. America is so dysfunctional, america cant get its act together. Democracy is finished and i think they feel they can take advantage of us. I think its not working because particularly trumps actions against sshg oliemani and particularly the iranian response is theyve calculated the risk and i think it worked out well and i think it gives us the opportunity potentially for diplomacy quite soon. But it really does handicap the ability for the United States to conduct Foreign Policy, foreign nations look at us and they see us divided and its a fundamental rule of Foreign Policy, weak at home, divided at home, weak abroad. I want to bring up something that congressman will hurd, hes retiring, hes a former cia guy. He has plenty to say about this. He tweeted kevin cork talked about it earl earlier. After a decade of the undercover officer, i never thought i would see the iranian government manipulate members of congress and the western media. Is there a way to avoid the partisan clash in this moment in history with something some momentum going on . I think its fair to ask what the strategy is here. I mean, first, any strategy that depends on the ayatollah being level head suicide not a good strategy. Second, President Trump is saying he wants to get out of the middle east, yet has deployed 15,000 more troops. And, third, this administration doesnt even have a team to execute on a strategy. Hes got the director and Deputy Director of national intelligence. Those are positions that havent been filled staying with the secretary and deputy secretary of the homeland security, staying with the state department with the head of European Affairs and arms control. We have no head at the cdp or at i. C. E. This is an administration that needs to get a Security Team together. Well, at the end of the day, the president is the commander in chief. And hes talked about what his strategy is. In his way of articulating it. He talked about, you know, the fact that he wants to open the doors to the iranian people. He talked about how the economy is in shambles but they could have a much more prosperous one. This is what he said about iran and getting this thing. Came in quickly. But as to whether or not they want, thats up to them. Not to me. They can straighten out their country. Iran right now is a mess. They can straighten out the economics of their country very, very quickly. Casey at this moment having just taken out one of their top generals, are theyre going to be in any way interested in coming to the table . Yeah, i think they have few options. And part of it would be because i think trump does have a strategy. I think he has a good strategy. The first thing was to fix the american economy, which hes done in very short years. The second part was energy independence. The United States has gone in a few years from being an Energy Importer to the Worlds LargestEnergy Exporter of oil and natural gas. What does that mean . We no longer need middle east oil or in the middle oh it was fire fights. We have enough energy for ourselves. And frankly, if something happened to disrupt the supply of the middle east oil, the United States could fill a lot of that gap. So, i think those three thing, the fact that were now a strong economy, the strongest in the world, the fact that the that we dont need the middle east oil, we dont need to be dependent upon them. And finally, its the sanctions. By pushing the iranians in the position where the economy is contracting, 80 Million People are just struggling to survive, trump has effectively said to them, look, we militarily we could we could just demonstrate to you what we can do to you militarily. And secondly economically we can crush you. Now, theres a third option which is where we want you to go and where we want to meet you, which is where we would like to have negotiations with you. We would like to find a way to work together. We dont want you to have nuclear weapons. We dont want you to kill americans but we do feel you have a Bright Future and we would like to help you with it. Let me get a final word. I think if President Trump is interested in negotiating with the iranians, wants to withdraw troops from the region, and is thinking about how do we lean on nato for support, i mean, he might as well call president obama back. That was president obamas strategy. And i think its premature at this point to understand what President Trump has done in the region. There are a lot of people claiming Mission Accomplished given irans cyber capability and proxy history, its way too soon for that. And there are a lot of questions about where america is in iraq with the counter isis campaign and whether theyll be expanding in the region. They may be the real winners here. The president has been careful to say this is not over. We know iranian leaders are saying that as well. We need to be postured across the board. Great to have you both, k. T. And yj, the duo. Thanks for being with us tonight. Thank you, shannon. Growing pressure to cough up the articles of impeachment. Those calls are coming from democrats. Find out where she got the idea in the first place. Interesting, next. She doesnt want to put in the articles, theyre so weak. Theyre so pathetic. Theyre so pathetic. President trump blaming nancy pelosi from withholding the articles from the senate. The speaker reportedly got the idea from president nixons white House Counsel john dean who had taken place in the coverup. Lets discuss. Some california harmony dylan, welcome to you both. Thanks for having us. Okay, i want to play a Little Something that mr. Dean had to say on cnn about this whole idea. There may be something that democrats can campaign on this fall in states where republicans are part of a process to rush this thing through and try to exonerate trump somehow from what the house is charged him with. I mean, he goes on from there to say this is actually working the strategy for the speaker. Yeah, its working really well, shannon. Nancy pelosi had a bad 2019 and 2020 is looking even worse. This is a really dumb idea. Its not playing well with democrats. Shes been rebuked by Senate Democrats as well. And i think its time for her to face the music. The house did a bad job with the impeachment hearings. And she has to live with that. Theres no more control for nancy pelosi. She has to let the senate do its job and put this flawed partisan impeachment out of its misery. This idea of holding it back again, byron york tweets, he said a new Time Magazine profile, Speaker Pelosi got the idea of withholding the articles by watching john dean on cnn. Always good to get strategic advice from the mastermind of the watergate coverup. Chris . You mean, the whistleblower of the watergate coverup. But, you know, lets just gloss over that. He did get in trouble. Yeah, he did blow the whistle on everything. Lets be very clear here. The strategy has worked. It put republicans on the defense. Every republican senator was asked the question, do you support a fair trial. We also got john bolton coming out saying he was testified. We saw that tranche of emails that came out, unredacted. That showed the president clearly ordered the the aid held up after that call. I think its driving the president crazy. I think the speaker should hold on to it to just before the state of the union and then give it to him then. That may happen. I mean, she formally invited him over there. She know where is hes going to be. She follows chris advice, lit be dumb but from a Republican Point of view, im all for it. Okay. Heres what she had to say today about why shes holding back and why she needs to know what the senate is going to do about this. These and other of them are our investigation and our articles necessitate a fair trial with documents and witnesses. They dont want documents. The documentation. They dont want witnesses. They may want a dismissal which is proof that they cannot they cannot clear the president with the wrongdoing that she has put forward. She wants dismissal, proof that they cant help the president. Nancy was my member of congress. It was painful for me to see that. It was almost incoherent. It was really puzzling. Im old enough to remember when democrats were in favor of due process and in favor of following the rules in a Legal Process and what nancy pelosi is babbling about saying that if theres a dismissal because the charges are insufficient by the body thats charged with the constitution of trying those charges that that is somehow evidence of guilt. Its upside down, its silly. It makes no sense. Thats no let me tell you something and you can respond, chris. Pelosi created another constitutional issue of her owenby withholding the articles and tore pidtoing the democrat argument that it was the highest priority. Then theyre refusing to budge because youll lose. Look, it was always a foregone conclusion that the republican sheep in the senate would acquit the president. We all know that. But, its not Mitch Mcconnells best interest to do a sham trial and continue the coverup. Because we all know that its not the last bad thing that the president is going to do between now and november. It wont be the last impeachable thing hes going to do. Okay, chris. First of all, he cant hold any kind of if he doesnt give the articles. Thats theyre going to get the articles. She said today theyll be coming soon. She said when she feels like it. All looking forward to that. I think were all looking forward to that. I hope that Mitch Mcconnell and the republicans in the senate take john bolton up on his offer to let him testify. I wonder what theyre afraid of if they dont. I think they know what theyre afraid of. We have to understand that hell probably be sitting in this chair talking to you at some point. Hes going to say youre going to ask him the tough questions and hes going to tell america what he knew one way or the other. The senators better not be engaged in a coverup. If they are, lit be hard for six or seven of them to get reelected to the senate. Well see if they get a chance to take on the articles and where we go from there. In the meantime, great to have you both on tonight. Thank you, shannon. Okay. A 26foot statue mocking President Trump in the first ladys home country has now been burned to the ground. Theres an investigation. Host of the next revolution. Steve hilton joins us life about that. A statue mocking President Trump has been burned to the ground in the first ladys birthplace of slovenia. Its one of the newer nato members and the president is calling for a greater role for the alliance in the middle east. Hes calling for signatories in the deal like france and the uk to walk away. Welcome in steve to talk about all things Foreign Policy. Always good to have you with us. Hi, happy new year. To you as well. I want to play something that the british Prime Minister had to say about the idea of walking away from the news deal. Its our view that the jcpla remains the best way of preventing Nuclear Proliferation in iran, the best way of encouraging the iranians not to develop a nuclear weapon. Is it a shell thats been voided. But it remains a shell into which we can put substance again. It doesnt sound like any of the other signatories have any intention to walk away. They want to salvage whats left and try to put this thing back together, sounds like. Yeah, it does. And its shocking to hear that from Forrest Johnson who i agree on on so many issues. Really, the thing thats at the heart of this, which is sad to say, as with so many things to do with government and politics these days, its a swamp, shannon, whats really going on is these european countries, britain, germany, france in particular, have longstanding commercial interests in iran and since the deal was signed, theyve really ramped up those interests with new potential deals, new contracts. One of the clearest examples is the french car company peugeot, one fifth of the entire Global Market was in iran. There were talks about a new factory and so on. They really just want business deals with iran. Plus, another aspect to it which is they are much more concerned about the Energy Aspect of this, unlike the u. S. Where were now Energy Independent thanks to President Trumps deregulation. Thats dependent on whats going on in the middle east. Theyre not helping that situation either, for example, the uk just banned fraking. So from every point of view, theyre much more dependent on the middle east and much more keen to get in bed with iran commercially. Thats why theyre sticking to this clearly failed deal. Let me ask you about brexit too. This is under the radar with all of the other headlines out there. The New York Times talks about this. It says uk lawmakers gives brexit the green light. It said with the news dominated by iran and the future of prince harry and wife, meghan, debates have been largely ignored by a british media that once focused obsessively on parliamentary maneuvers. As far as i understand, the first vote to take the step out january 1. Amazing, isnt it . An historic moment. Finally up to three years since that happening to a vote since 2016 they approve add deal to get it done in the slogan in the last election he won so decisively. Thats great news for anyone who wants to see the result of that vote in 2016 implemented. Imagine if you voted for President Trump in 2016 and he was only just taking office now. Imagine how angry youd be. The truth is, though, even with this vote, even if they get the formal deal to exit the eu at the end of january as planned, thats not the end of the process. Because then they have to start negotiating the future relationship. The future trade deal and so on. Were going to have years and years of arguments still ahead of us. Quickly, how long do you think that process takes . Or do you estimate that there will be those that like you said, if you vote for something that doesnt happen for three years, pretty frustrating but its finally here. Yeah. Well, Boris Johnson has said he wants to get it done quickly and the really good news for anyone who agrees with that position is that he won that really clear election result at the end of last year. Hes got a big majority in parliament. Hes there for five years, hes got a lot of leverage in that negotiation with the eu. So i think hes going to get a good deal. Hes going to do something which actually hes been talking about since the beginning which is a positive outcome to this very tore torturous process that went on for so long. Thanks. Glad to have you. See you soon. Bar versus bar. Why is the new York Bar Association questioning the conduct of the attorney general. Thats next. But first, the real news roundup. Here is host Michael Barbaro comparing the death of qasem soli, mani to Martin Luther king jr. Saying why iran is mourning. The minnesota county board of commissioners under fire after voting to the Refugee Resettlement there with the minnesota House Majority leader threatening to cut off the country the countys funding if it goes forward with the decision, which was made possible by President Trumps executive order, which gives local governments the power to ban new refugees, an opportunity we only found that one other county in the country is taken up. Bar versus the bar. Tonight, the new york city Bar Association is asking congress to investigate attorney general william barr. Chief breaking news correspondent Trace Gallagher is digging into the allegations for us, good evening, trace. The letter from the new york city Bar Association was addressed to Party Leaders in the house and the senate asking them to investigate attorney general bill bar rshgs conduct saying the statements threaten Public Confidence in the fair and impartial investigation of justice. The letter points to four statements made by the ag in the latter part of 2019 including a speech in october at the university of notre dame where he praised the founders for believing in god and criticized those who threatened freedom of religion. Watch . The problem is not that the religion is being forced on others. The problem is thatter religion is being forced secular values are being forced on people of faith. Barr was also slammed for a speech he gave before a crowd of Police Officers where he called out activist district attorneys, look. District attorneys that style themselves social justice reformers and spend their time undercutting the police, letting criminals off of the hook, and refusing to enforce the laws. The new york city Bar Association cites this interview on nbc where bill barr responds to the department of justice ig report on the fbis abuse of the fisa court. I think if you step back here and you say, what was this all based on . Its not sufficient. Remember, there was and never has been any evidence of collusion. That report did not find proof of fbi political bias. But as Ig Michael Horowitz repeatedly said, he also could not say there was no fbi bias. He did find 17 significanter roars or omissions in the fisa applications, all 17 went against President Trump. Than is not the first time the new york city Bar Association has attacked bill but barr. In october, the group asked he recuse himself from all ukrainerelated matters. Shannon . Trace gallagher, thank you. In some california cities, an epidemic of car breakins and burglaries has reached unprecedented territory being called epidemic. William logeness getting the news from the newsroom. Oh, back the other way. Almost hit another car. In l. A. , police chase a gang of troops stealing from cars. Broken glass here every day. In san francisco, 70 car breakins a day. So the question is, what do we do about it . We know that each of these cases has a victim. This tourist is one of almost 250,000 victims a year in california. Actually my first time here. But this actually makes me think twice now about my impression. An epidemic of car breakins. Why . Some lawmakers blame themselves. Thieves are thriving in california because theres lack of accountability in our process. In other states, prosecutors here must prove a car was locked. Thats right, a thief can steal your computer camera phone, but unless the prosecutors can prove the car was locked, no case, no conviction. Even if your window was smashed, and they break in, you still have to prove that your doors were locked. Thats nonsense. A bill to close the loophole failed. Public defenders told lawmakers jailing individuals who had not damaged a locking mechanism of a vehicle to gain entry could negatively impact those with the least of mean, meaning, the thief. This law is a step in the right direction. But prosecutors say, thats not enough. If you commit a crime that is a theft that under 950, it doesnt matter how many times you commit it, it doesnt matter how many times youre convicted, you can never be charged with a felony. In l. A. , a gang uses scooters to smash and grab, hopping through broken windows so not to trigger the car alarm. If you have a rental car, if youre going tholly wood, there are people who are going to prey on you. Direct testimony from a victim is usually enough to prove a cars doors are locked. But most tourists are not around to testify, making it likely that the thief walks free. Shannon . All right, william. Thank you.
