Rob fox news alert, donald trump expected to release a plan to reopen the economy and get americans back on their feet tensions are rising as state governments look to take matters into their own hands. Griff jenkins has the battle that is brewing. Brilliantly. There is a debate about who has the final say over reopening the economy. The president prepares to release guidelines as well as the formation of the council to oversee the reopening. He says it is his decision, not state governors who will ultimately make the call. When somebody is the president of the United States the authority is total. That being said we will work with the states because it is very important. We have local government that hopefully will do a good job and if they dont do a good job i will step in so fast that they cant do anything without the approval of the president of the United States. This after coalitions of governors coasttocoast announced regional plans for their opening the states, northeast, andrew cuomo says states are creating a partnership, new york, new jersey, connecticut, pennsylvania, rhode island, delaware and massachusetts. disagrees with the president s view. He did work cooperatively with the state and other states and thats why dont understand why you would pivot at this point to this aggressive, hostile suggestion of total authority of the federal government and abandon the partnership, cooperation that he started. On the west coast California Governor Gavin Newsom announcing a Regional Group of california to washington state. A joint statement of the shared vision for a process and protocol framework, we refer to it for reopening not just within our states but more broadly as a region. Two countries saying there seeing coronavirus relapses in their recovered patients. What does that mean for our fight against the virus . Joining us is doctor jeanette, good to see you this morning, those countries reporting relapses, south korea, china and japan and if we look at the statement from the World Health Organization they say, quote, we are aware some patients are pcr positive after that clinically recover but we need systematic election samples from recovered patients to better understand how long they should live virus. What is your opinion on this . This may be a slight setback but this is a very small number of people, around the hundred after of millions that have been effective, this could mean several things which it could mean yes, did the virus reactivate . The virus is a system, maybe they didnt fully recover, suppressed the virus with robust immune system and it reappeared. Another thing is the person conducting the sample, maybe they did not get a good enough specimen was when i can elect specimens i make sure i get a good sample. It could be the technique. And could there be a different strain . I dont think so but it could be reactivated or not a good specimen. You dont think this is possibly a mutation that is happening quicker than expected . It is possible that i lean toward being a reactivation of the same virus that didnt fully heal. The level went down and shot back up again, the person resumed regular activity too some, wasnt getting enough rest, wasnt getting enough fruits and vegetables, that sort of thing. Would you be more worried, look at where it is happening, three countries in asia. We are this is not been reported in italy which with the this serrated by this virus or spain or the us. Would you be more concerned if we were seeing this all over . Not necessarily. A lot of patients that got better, then worse, then better. We see this with viruses, i see it with the flu, strep throat, pneumonia, it is not a new concept which it comes down to they havent fully healed. Shannon the fda approves the use of a saliva test that could reduce the risk for medical workers. Explain how this would work. It is a great new tool, i go into a patients knows, makes me cough and sneeze, i am increased risk of picking up the virus from them so instead they fit into a little too. We collect their saliva and run a sample and it is much safer for the Healthcare Worker and more comfortable for the patient as well. It is newly fda approved, looking forward to using it. Rob hopefully it is as accurate as the blood test. They say it is. Rob questions from our viewers, michelle says i believe i had a two months ago and although not diagnosed i wonder if i qualify for survivor antibody study. She wants to know if she could be part of this. Definitely a possibility, depends how much anybody is within your body. Right now being a systematic which hopefully fully recovered, it may be difficult to be part of any study because they are taking people who are very sick and fully recovered, someone who was in the icu, they want someone with high levels of antibodies but absolutely. That is amazing you want to participate and help save the life of someone else but your antibodies can be helpful, reach out to your red cross or nearest hospital and ask about studies you want to participate in. Peggy asks is a true oh type blood is more resistant to covid19 of someone with that. I get that it is miles and not likely lifethreatening . We have heard a lot about this. We need more research and data. It is not 100 verified and confirmed but out of china a study picked up 2000 people and out of those 2000 people about 25 were type of blood, 38 were a who tested positive for the virus. It showed 10 were a be positive. The most protected could be a be positive but everyone should take precautions, wash your hands, practice physical distancing, disinfecting countertops, self quarantine if it applies to you. A lot more research and verification needs to be done before we say yes on this. Shannon thank you for joining us. Thank you. The governor talks about the economy tanking and looking at what we need to do the first is the safety of all pennsylvanians. We can do that, people who built pennsylvanias economy, with the proper guidance they can do it but the governor needs to work with the general assembly. They were elected by the 12. 8 Million People of pennsylvania to make decisions in their best interests, not the governors of massachusetts, rhode island, connecticut, taking input from people in the state but hasnt talked to the other elected officials and is talking to governors of surrounding states, what about ohio, West Virginia and maryland . If the governor wants to get it done he should work with the general are simply. Rob he is talking to a democrat governors, not republican governors. What are you trying to push through . What do you want to see happen in pennsylvania . We want to see a responsible collaborative effort to get pennsylvanias economy going in the governor needs to look at the other people that have been elected to help run the state. It is not one person show. He keeps talking about the new normal. A lot of hospitals in places where the not getting crushed like new york is, you cant do any elective surgeries, they should a lot of these things down but also not busy with covid19 and you dont see a lot of demand for the hospital so jobs are being cut. Would you say to these workers, a lot of them working so hard to try to save people and then you hear stories like this. Absolutely. The real problem from a rural perspective is we have shortages, these rural hospitals are forced to furlough those employees and trying to get through the front end of this in the real concern is where we are left with this at the end of the crisis, trying to attract these professionals back to Rural Communities where we need them. Rob they run off, rural hospital workers, in new york to do the work there and all of a sudden covid19 hits in some of these places in your left with a real staffing issue when you need the most.
