It was five days of 10 out of 10, 15 out of 10 pain in my head come behind the eyes, the ears, the back of the neck. Every day were new symptoms and by day 4 i said i dont know what tomorrow is going to bring, dont know if i can face it and the doctor, the pandemic express, they said we dont know what tomorrow is going to bring, this is new to us as well. Rob such an ugly bug and you got to self recover. Tell me about the lungs and the breathing, how bad was that part . They told us to look for coughing, fever and breathing and i actually have asthma and i had shortness of breath but i used my inhaler and that wasnt my big symptom. It was loss of vision, blurry, i couldnt see, couldnt open my eyes for a couple days and when i did, very teary, didnt have much of a cough. The symptoms they keep mentioning, top three symptoms were not my symptoms. Rob it depends who you are and what kind of body you have. One thing a lot of people have is a sense of solace that their children are going to be okay, your daughters got the virus and had symptoms, tell us how they did. We are supposed to self quarantine. I was self quarantining. I was very careful. Im not sure where i picked it up. Maybe the Grocery Store because they are still open and i did one emergency run. Two young girls, they didnt comprehend where is the hug for the day. By day 2 they busted into my room and i asked the doctor what will happen, deepens when you get over it. I got over in five miserable days they showed symptoms four days later and both had different symptoms but still coronavirus symptoms. Rob not as bad as you. It was one day of misery for each one. One migraine headaches, fever, chills, the other one migraine, headaches, fever and cough, horrible cough. Rob let me ask a lot of people talking about spring break, kids running around and crews ships wanting to come in with sick patients. Are you frustrated by news stories of people dealing with this in florida . Yes. I could hear at least i couldnt see but i could hear podcasts and keep up with the news and i heard there were spring breakers and the beaches were all open. The miami mayor tested positive. We have a cruise ship that is trying to come into south florida with coronavirus cases, they are sick, some reported they have died on this cruise ship, they are coming to florida and the governor is letting them come to florida. That is a big debate and the beaches are still open in south florida, only four are closed down and im in one of those. Rob a lot of people have big opinions on that. It is coughs and sneezes but it is important if you are touching things with your clothing that you be cognizant there is a small risk that could be a way you could be exposed to the virus. If youre doing that you should wash those clothes when you get home. Rob people thinking the summer might help with this thing, a question from daniel, does uv light killed virus on surfaces and in the air . It definitely does have an antiviral effects, we know that. We use uv lamps in hospitals to sterilize rooms, we know that is part of the reason this virus doesnt do well in the summer because theres more uv light exposure. That is definitely something we usually do in homes, people sell uv kits for home use, i dont think those are recommended but it has an antiviral effect. Jillian here is an Instagram Post if a person has facial hair is there a chance for the virus to live in it . Does washing the facial hair take care of the virus . Same for women with long hair. With hair and facial hair, not necessarily going to be major mechanisms for transmission. I think if you sneeze or are coughing and gets caught in their beard that could be a risk for transmission but normal hygienic practices i what i would recommend, not something people should worry about her think of as a major mechanism. Rob nick asks a person has severe sinus congestion, are they more or less prone to catch coronavirus . Everybody is susceptible to this virus. There is no population level immunity. If you get exposed to it you are likely to get infected, the question is do you get a more severe case if you have chronic sinus infections, i dont is any evidence of that. You may feel the symptoms worse because your sinuses dont drain well so youre more prone when you get a viral infection to have it be complicated by sinus infection. You might have a more rough sinus involvement but still the same chance of catching it. Jillian next question from twitter, when should you get tested . A coworker has tested positive and i am on 14 day self quarantine. Do i need to get tested or wait until i see if i get symptoms . I would wait into you get symptoms which it is not going to change anything if you test asymptomatic people. That has been happening around the country, politicians getting tested, that is not really medically indicated. If you have symptoms, fever, cough, sore throat, you need to get tested. Otherwise i dont think you need to be tested. Even the self quarantine is something that is variable. Some people are allowing individuals to go back to work, Healthcare Workers are doing that in many parts of the country. This guidance may change. Rob considering malaria is a parasite and covid19 is a virus, why do you expect hydroxy chloroquine or chloroquine to do . Good question. Malaria is a different microorganism than the coronavirus. They are very different. Hydroxy chloroquine is not just antimalarial. It is antiinflammatory and has other components. We is hydroxy chloroquine for lupus which is an inflammatory condition. What happens is hydroxy chloroquine works in a distinct way against the virus that made them in the immune response and has an antiviral effects. We see this with other viruses like hiv and herpes and hepatitis b, it has an antiviral effect. It is important to study this, under a clinical trial, it is something we are hopeful will work and i prescribed it as part of hospital protocol.
