A couple weeks ago we said who would like to come . All these folks filled out forms. They had no idea they would have to get up at 2 00 in the morning to be here. Brian lets be fair to ainsley 20 years ago she was in fifth grade. Ainsley i was telling brian i was like gosh, if i were in a studio audience 20 years ago here at fox friends, i would have been so excited. We love yall. Also people from all over the country are with us because they wanted to the watch us do the news. We are going to start the news. Once again, the big story as it was yesterday, there is a caravan. Brian since when . I didnt know about the caravan. Steve it is currently moving through central america. And yesterday honduran authorities arrested, actually, one of the organizers his name was juan molina. This time they are actually checking credentials and asking for papers. They have realized he had an outstanding warrant for rape. He has been arrested. Nonetheless, the rest of them are marching toward our southern border. Ainsley its day 27 of the shutdown. We have some more news to report to you that has to do with this. We are all holding a letter this morning that nancy pelosi penned to the president. On january 3rd, as the speaker of the house, she asked the to speak for the state of the Union Address. Thats how it works. Well then she sent him a letter yesterday saying, you know what . Because of this shutdown, im asking you to either submit your address in writing, not stand at the podium or lets delay it. Steve thats right. Brian how sin senior is that she is concerned about security and concerned something will happen. The only problem is she didnt ask the secretary of Homeland Security about it shell didnt ask the secret service about it she asked Benny Thompson what do you think about security. By the way its already been done and finished and we have experts in the audience to talk about this. Kirsten nielsen said the department of Homeland Security and secret service are fully prepared to support and secure the state of the union. We thank the service for their mission focus and dedication and for all they do each day to secure the homeland. Capitol, why are they running the government . They have passed some bills yesterday. Youve got to wonder by the president has not responded yet. Its because he doesnt know whether or not she was actually canceling it or whether or not it was a political statement. Buff how many people in our audience think and this is just a question. How many of you have think she does not want to give him the political stage, you know, all eyes are going to be on him and at some point you know our president. If he is in front of a joint session of congress, and she is sitting right behind him, dont you think at some point is he going to turn around and say the reason our government is not open right now is because that woman behind me is not going to negotiate. Maybe there is a belief that they can go in, if there is an agreement that they will build some type of wall, slat, fence, steel barrier for three and a half weeks they open it up and some type of agreement there. Steve ultimately it comes down to, this nancy pelosi versus the president. She has waited years to get the hammer back. To get the gavel back. She is not going to give him a win. Period. Ainsley do you know what i thought about too . January 29th is this speech. Thats in a week and a half. Thats not next tuesday, the tuesday after that. She is going to turn this committee, which she now chairs, into a court which is going to try and punish bankers. You will see a lot of hearings where bankers, leading bankers will have to stand up, raise their right hand and take the oath. Thats very bad pr for the Banking Industry and Maxine Waters is doing that deliberately. She will harass the president. She will go after deutsch bank which financed some of the Trump Organization business. She goal after the deutsch bank and harass the president. She will call for new taxes on wall street. I think she is going to turn that committee into a sounding board to establish the democrats financial policies going into 2020. But, i dont think she has any real power to affect the economy because any new rules or suggestions that she has can be reversed by the Republican Senate and or vetoed by the president. Brian a lookout of the people responsible for 2008 are retired, gone, or fishing somewhere. Where did she dust this speech off from . Well, she doesnt like the banks. She blames the banks for the crash 10 years ago. I think thats regurgitating old ground, frankly. Thats what she is going to do. You will see an endless set of hearings where the Banking Industry, wall street, rich people are pillarried in front of this committee. Dont forget aoc is on that committee as well. Steve stuart. Freshman congresswoman alexandria ocasiocortez has built a big social media following with more than 2 Million People following her on twitter. Ainsley yeah. Other democrats like beto orourke, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris have been trying to follow her lead this year but so far they seem to be falling a little flat. Brian in some cases. Alexandria ocasiocortez will be leading a session on the hill to help school her fellow democrats on social media skills that will go over well. Is she really the best picture here . You cant dispute her social media activity but you also cant dispute her ability to connect with people. When it comes to policy and understanding the facts and figures thats where she falls short. The fact of the matter is the stuff that she has, you cannot teach this. She has that it factor even though she cant deliver. So, i think there is a similarity in that although she doesnt have the substance to back what she is saying. Ainsley a lot of people dont agree with her politics. Socialist, very, very extreme. She is the darling. She is cute and fun to watch and i like to listen to her. Steve she danced in college. Ainsley so funny, reminds me of of my baby brother when he comes home. Mom and dad are here are the remotes. He knows how to use the remotes and social media. They go to the youngest one to teach the older people how to do social media. These are politicians that are going to end up having their communication satisfy run. This the reason it works for alexandria ocasiocortez is because she actually runs her twitter account. She does a little too much tweeting sometimes. At the end of the day she connects with people. Thats the beautiful thing about what she does. I would actually stop focusing on aoc because really she doesnt believe in the stuff that she says. She was antinancy pelosi the first moment she got voted for her and got on a big committee. Steve i talked to some members of congress, they are shocked at the amount of Mainstream Media press she has gotten. But they could be a little gejealous. Folks have questions for lawrence. One of the things i worry about is the liberal bias they are going to be getting from a lot of the professors. How do i choose a college or help them choose a college that they will get more holistic view of the world . Steve a fair and balanced college . Steve we have dispatched Griff Jenkins live to Guatemala City where the migrants are marching. Griff, so they have left honduras and now you are in guatemala heading toward mexico, right . Griff thats right, guys. We are in Guatemala City and just outside of the shelter where the largest concentration of this group which has been loosely organized a bit chaotic are on the march. Approximately 500. They left about 20 minutes ago. We are being very careful. We want to show you, too, just a little bit of a look at these you have families, you can see the back, women with children in strollers marching along an incredibly busy street. Guatemala city is a large city similar to that of washington or new york city and the conditions here this is why the authorities, whether they be u. S. Authorities or honduran authorities or mexican authorities, this is why groups like this should not do this. We are going to show you from the back. Families marching along unbelievable traffic. Now, this comes as we were in that shelter earlier yesterday and spoke to one of the migrants about his journey. His name is marsio kavario this is what he had to say. Two years ago. Griff are you discouraged from trying to go because the border is harder to get across . I know its harder now than before, but i have got to try. I have to. Griff marcio was arrested for soliciting prosecution. He will have a hard time getting asylum. Obviously. Now these folks are headed 150 miles north of here to the guatemalamexico border. That is the same path that the last caravan took. And it is the same path that we expect will be, perhaps, in the next 24 to 48 hours. This is really the front of it. Now the shelter person told us, the director of the shelter said they are expecting about 2500 total coming. So this is growing as it heads north towards ultimately the United States, guys. Steve all right. Griff jenkins live in Guatemala City where it is 5 36 in the morning. Tom homan joins us. You know him. Former acting ice director. Over the last two days griff has been talking to people. The reason they are marching north, they need to make money or they have got family there those are two reasons not would qualify you for asylum. No. To qualify for asylum you have to be escaping fear and persecution because of your race, ethnicity or political beliefs. Coming for a better life doesnt qualify for asylum. I cant blame anybody want to be the greatest country on earth. You cant be a part of the greatest country on earth and not respect its laws. Stopped in line with the other millions of people standing in line. Brian heres the problem. They keep coming. There is three or four in a row now. Why do they keep coming when they know its reasonable doubt going to be hard to come. In why would they stop coming you have a Democratic Congress refuses to build a wall. A Democratic House that refuses to address the loopholes that caused this illegal immigration. You bring a child you wont be detained more than 10 days and get released and wont show up in court. Even if you show up in court you wont leave. Less than 2 have left. Why would you stop coming . Why would you stop coming . Have you liberal judges in the ninth circuit saying you cant detain families long enough to see judge. This is an open border. Thats why this is a crisis. Its not a manufactured crisis. This is a crisis. This is an open border agenda and people are coming to this country our sovereignty as a country is under attack. This is a crisis. President trump is 100 percent right on this issue. Ainsley tom, i know you were on capitol hill with all the angel moms and dads the other day knocking on the offices of nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer and they wouldnt come out and talk to the angel parents. They dont like what i have got to say. Look, do you notice the Democratic Congressman rush to the border when the two children died. A tragedy. Nobody wants to see that happen. Very tragic and sad. Rush to the border to demand an investigation into the 20,000 american patriots that wear that uniform. I welcome an investigation. Find out Border Patrol did everything they can to save these children. Have you seen nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer go down to the border for the crisis . Have they asked the men and women in green uniforms who stand on post every day for this country do you need a wall . They dont want to hear the answers that make sense. Thats why nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer refuse to get a briefing from the secretary of Homeland Security on the border. Thats why i am grateful we have a president like President Trump to right guy at the right time who is going it speak straight to the American People and tell him whats going on. Brian walls are immoral. Walls arent immoral. Whats immoral is someone who is the speaker of the house number one responsibility is to protect this country and protect the citizens of this country. My question for you is, have any ice agents ever been prosecuted for any of these crimes that are being levied against them by the media or by the democrats . Of course there has been incidents throughout history there may be a few officers that stepped outside the line like any other Law Enforcement agency. Because when you entice people to come to this country illegally because you push sanctuary cities, you want to abolish ice. The whole purpose of the constitution was to establish the government and limit it to provide for a limited government and to guarantee personal liberty. I dont know what was in congressman orourkes head. Of course, i read the interview several times to try to figure out what was in his head. I think he is not appealing to middle america. The rationale was that there was a safety problem. But then you heard from the department of Homeland Security and the secret service and they said what are you talking about . There is no safety problem. I heard from somebody in the administration this morning for goodness sakes, the president of the United States during the shutdown went to iraq. He can go to the capital. Its not that big of deal. Ainsley thats a great point. They have been planning this for months. Despite the shutdown the mission has not changed. Brian so is a 21yearold terrorist planning to go and attack the white house. You know how vital our intelligence is as well as our Law Enforcement. Meanwhile, the question is, did they make any progress yesterday when susan collins, when rob portman, when joe manchin, when Kyrsten Sinema and chris coons went to the white house to try to work something out, it all depends on how much they are going to put toward a border barrier, not even a fence. Nancy pelosi says nothing. And these democrats are beginning to say yeah. We will put something out there. Something has got to break soon. I dont think people should be doing genetic testing without advisement of a genetic counselor. Some of it in your genes and you cant do anything to prevent it living the healthiest cub. Exercise. Mediterranean diet and make sure lifelong learning. Challenge your brain, doing those puzzles, reading books, learning things new thats the best thing can you do to prevent alzheimers.
