These troops are going to be very limited in what they can do at the border. They won the fight to actually have them armed. A lot of these troops, the National Guard guys on the border are not even armed. They are away from the border. Providing logistical assistance. Intelligence, surveillance, transaction. Transportation. Supplies, meals. They are helping the Border Agents do their jobs. There is not going to be a Single Member of our military interacting with maybe of the caravan. That wont happen. They will be in the back helping the Border Patrol agents too long their job. Steve sure. One of the things we heard from the president yesterday was if they try to come into the country, whether its asylum or cross into the country illegally, they are going to be held at the border in tents. He said there are going to be a lot of tents right there. If they dont make asylum, send them back. Pete which is the way it should be insane if you come through a port of entry and claim asylum. The first move the idea can you claim asylum is what is in question at this point. That is part of what this move is meant to interdict and change. Active duty troops before thmiddle of december. 1700 deploying them to south texas, arizona and california. Steve this is the largest u. S. Active duty mobilization along the u. S. Mexican border in decades. Of course, they will join the 2,000 National Guard troop to harden our southern border. Apparently there are two caravans. One the one we have been talking about for over a week. That totals something they are estimating about 3500. Some have dropped off, many have gone home. Some have actually sought asylum in the country of mexico where they have offered people work permits. Look, if you want to go somewhere, come here the president of mexico has said. Most of those are continuing on. And then there is a second caravan about 3,000 down near the guatemalaen border. Brian i know our military is the best in the world. General mattis is a fine commander but its going to be so hard, i imagine, and challenging and important to get the coordination down between the National Guard thats there. Between the regular army the regular military thats reporting. And now the Border Guards that are actually on the front line. I think most importantly, it sends a message, the whole problem with taking the kids away at the border was not we wanted to take kids away. Send a message that our borders are not open. We have a system to apply for asylum. What they want to do is get the message to central and south america serious there is a new sheriff in town. Remember, when the president took over, the border crossings really dissipated. Then after he realized the president could change the laws unilaterally they started picking up again. This is the message there are men and women in camouflage stopping us from going it is not worth the trip. Steve Border Patrol will be the tip of the spear. The economy is growing even more slowly than we thought. Things are starting to change. Theres more opportunity and security to invest in the ones that matter. This could all go away if we dont remember what we came from. Ainsley fair or not fair. Its not fair. Its desperate. These are desperate things said by desperate people. The fact is that when the president is attacked we also know this, it really is an attack on his supporters. Here is what you have got here, a team people, the democrats who have no ability to persuade on the details of the issues. They know they cant convince us about what it is they represent because we rejected that in 2016. What they are trying to do is frighten people and effectively, also, affect the g. O. P. Enthusiasm. It really is an insult. Not just an insult to this president but to the nation as a whole. We are a country of 327 until people. We have been subjected 24 7 to attacks that are baseless, calling the president of the United States and his supporterser traitors and racists and bullies at this point twice now in the last week not just that young woman steve smith, a republican saying that the president and his supporters are like isis, terrorists. And here the American People, showing their discipline and decency, both liberals and conservatives and independents are not acting as though they believe that to be true. After the synagogue massacre, we have come together. Muslims have set up crowd funding sites raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the victims. The hospital treating the shooter is a jewish hospital. Americans are grieving collect tialy. We come together, this nation, i contend, is not divided and, yet, this is the kind of rhetoric. How could it mean anything other than a desire to to divide . Ainsley this is what some of the ladies on the view had to say about this issue . Watch this and we will get your reaction. I do sense our country in a place it has never come before because the tone is comincoming from the top. When did it become the norm for us to be afraid to go in and worship . These are individuals who not just in that case but almost every other case are saying, you know, that there is no civility and that its Donald Trumps fault in the same environment where they are accusing the American People of all being racist of this country being a racist country. The president being a traitor. How can you speak of civility and coming together and move that kind of a message . Some democrats, one in particular, a strategist is actually admitting there is no message. Americans want all we all want everyone to do well. But we know it takes ideas on policy, on what the plan is for the future. The president has indicated that clearly and distinctively. In every rally and you will hear it this week, he has always called for unity and coming together that message has been consistent and clear. I think that the American People and what the democrats may be seeing is internal polling that shows that, you know, their message doesnt have any punch, they say. Well, actually, it has more kick, right, than punch. Americans want ideas. I think the democrats are seeing this is not working. But, thank goodness, why would this message be working . If their message about how americans who disagree politically are terrorists, we should be concerned if the democrats were succeeding with that the fact is they are not. But we but, also, democrats who are at the base, they also want ideas and i think that they are going to have a big job to do after the midterms when it comes to their own party. Start modernizing laws in a bipartisan way. Start giving people an opportunity to come legally. Maybe expand the numbers. Because we need workers. You talk to the farmers in the farming community, they need people legally here to help out and there is people willing to work. Maybe there is a compromise here. Brian i was listening to trey gowdy last night, trey gowdy said dont worry about the critics, focus on victims. The president is putting himself into this and he shouldnt. This president will go to pittsburgh and put politics behind him as best he can. The president is planning to sign an executive order that would remove the right of citizenship for babies born to noncitizens, socalled anchor babies. President would like to get rid of it. I always thought you had to do a constitutional amendment. I think i can do it myself. Look for a court challenge. Clearly that will go to the Supreme Court just as his travel bandied. The president has very good ideas on this he could also go to congress to try to solve this problem as well. Brian on foxnews. Com on this story, you dont need a constitutional amendment because he pointed out there is clause in the middle of amendment that they ignore, or misinterpret, or jurisdiction thereof. If youre born on u. S. Soil subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, child of citizens or the child of legal immigrants youre entitled to citizenship. There is no guarranty if your parents arent citizens that youre citizens. It is not in the constitution according to some. Thats right. I just, i look back at 2016, this president did six of these a day every day for the last couple of weeks of the election. He wants to energy the base of our party so they turn out on election day. If you look what we call the abrv, absentee ballot, early voting numbers he is doing just that. He is telling the American People, educating them, if you wan chaos on one side of the Justice Kavanaugh style chaos across this country, or if you want caravans to have open borders you dont want to recognize borders, vote for democrats. Theyre talking about health care. Republicans want to take my Health Care Away with all the provisions of things that people, democrats are accustom to. Steve, democrats have no policy glenda to run on. Theyre running scare tactic campaign. Steve health care is important to every person in the country.
