This struck less than an hour ago. And so, you know, they do the math, and they say that waves should start to appear. The question is how high will the waves be . There is one report that one of the ocean buoys, about 100 and some miles away from alaska did just recently have a 35foot wave. Ainsley i think for americans we hear tsunami and it takes us back. Do you remember the supermodel petra involved in the tsunami was that in end dough near shah. Steve thailand. Ainsley it reminds us of that and scares us of that. Im glad theyre listening to the warning and getting out. Except for the guy videotaping this. It sounds like is he going the wrong way. Brian quickly on Fox Friends First janice dean has been working this to find out where the danger might lie. What you can you tell us . Janice its going to take some time. The reports are going to be coming in minute by minute. What i can tell you this is a very large earthquake. Alaska is no stranger to earthquakes or tsunamis. They are had four of them in the past. So this is what we are dealing with this is actual information we are getting right now. This the is earthquake that were talking about. It was at one point 8. 2. They have downgraded to 7. 9. 173 miles southeast of tune alaska. Biggest earthquake that they have ever had was in 1964. That one was their largest ever measured at 9. 2. So although this is a big earthquake, they have seen and experienced larger earthquakes. 130 lives were lost because of that earthquake and the tsunami. As you mentioned, we have tsunami watches and warnings all up and downtown coast from alaskas coast line down towards british, columbia, extending all the way south to Southern California. This is an extensive tsunami watch that extends all the way down towards los angeles, getting information minute by minute. But as we look back in history, again, alaska no stranger to earthquakes or tsunami watches or warnings. This was their biggest one 9. 2 magnitude. Thats talking about where they lost 131 lives. When we talk about magnitude 8 or higher is a great earthquake. Now that it has been downgraded to 7. 9. Thats a major earthquake. We dont know ohio high the waves are going to be but people are urged to take caution and move to Higher Ground. Especially along the alaskan coast. Here is what we deal with in terms of magnitude. We only see a magnitude 8 or greater. An average of one a year. So, right now its 7. 9. Its pretty rare. But we are along that ring of fire where they typically have earthquakes. So they are no stranger to earthquakes around alaska. Tsunami watch and warning extending as far as south as Southern California this is a big deal and well be following it minute by minute here in the fox extreme weather center. Back to you. Well, then it was revealed that apparently while they were able to produce 350 of them, there are five months of their Text Messages that are missing. And the fbi said, you know what the problem was there was something with the Samsung Phone and apparently our system, our software screwed it up. Well, now the attorney general says thats not right. And he has checked with the Inspector General, mr. Horowitz, and they are going to try to get to the bottom of it. Ainsley he said im going to lee no stone unturned to certainty why Text Messages are not available to be produced use every Technology Available to determine whether the missing messages are recoverable from another source. I think he does need to go one step further and definitely recover these messages. They released 300 and what did you say 75 to congress. We read those tedges messages. Read them to you. There are 50,000 Text Messages between these two love birds. Whats interesting is the day that we are missing five months. The very last day of that five months. Since i just checked my phone a few moments ago, were up to almost 750,000 views on this video in less than 24 hours, and they talk about at Prager University a lot of different issues. And they have people talking about issues that matter to them. And this is an issue that they said hey, lets talk about identity politics. And sometimes as a gay conservative, ainsley, i feel almost like im being asked by people to justify my existence. How can you be both of these things . Just because i happen to be gay, doesnt mean that i have to prioritize gay rights issues as my number one issue all the time. I dont. I care about shrinking the size of government. Keeping america safe and strong. Im prolife. There is a lot of things that inform my world view and my values. And who i am sexually is just one element of that and i think thats totally fine. And i just wanted to do the video not to go around telling people oh my gosh, im gay, you should care about my sexual orientation. I think it should be irrelevant. I see some people who are not just gay and black and conservative. Hispanic and conservative. Women who get so much heat because they dont shoe horn their beliefs into this little tiny box that the identity politics left insist that they ought to inhabit. I think thats wrong and i wanted to speak out on that. Ainsley guy, things are changing. Youre right. People expect all women to march in the marches and put every woman in this one box. They think if you are gay you need to vote for the democrat. If you are a white man, youre going to vote for the republican. If you are white, you are going to be republican. You shed between 14 and 27 of lbgt voters voted republican in the past four elections. Yeah. So, i mean, its already a minority of a minority. I understand that. But, still, if duty math, thats millions of people. So i hear all the time from fellow white leaning members of the lbgt community. They feel like they are so alone. Part of my message is, youre not. I know that sometimes the gay left is very loud and they can be bullies from time to time. There are millions of us out there. Its up to each of us to decide what our political priorities are and who we are as people. And its just a permission slip. Its okay. Janice we havent gotten a lot of information from the last time we reported and thats why every minute is crucial. And, you know, like a hurricane, we can usually forecast these things but unfortunately when it comes to tsunamis and earthquakes, its very hard to forecast this type of activity, especially under the ocean in the alaskan basin. 7. 9 magnitude earthquake and if you live along the coast. If you live in low lying areas, you are being told to seek Higher Ground and evacuate the area. Now, the one thing i can tell you is that they have cancelled the tsunami watch for hawaii. So this information is going to continue throughout the next couple of hours. Probably going to see waives throughout the coast of alaska in the next couple of hours. Well get more information. The concerning thing is this is a 7. 9 magnitude earthquake. Thats a large earthquake. And it is in close proximity to alaska. Its not going to take a lot of time to see first waves move. In these tsunami waives can move 500 miles per hour. A buoy recorded a 32foot rise in height and that is concerns to me as well. So, again, this is a minutebyminute forecast on when these waves are going to start to inundate the alaskan coast line. And the other crucial thing i want to make mention is that the watches, the tsunami watching extend all the way southward down the california coast line to Southern California. Thats important as well. They wont see the potential threat, that, say, alaska does. There is still the potential of water rise as it reaches along the west coast. Very concerning. Obviously for folks in alaska. We will keep you up to date. I havent gotten a lot of information. But as soon as we get the latest, i will bring it to you live from the extreme weather center. He can take a vote within the committee to release it, given the classified nature, they will probably need to redact some things. You dont want to ever give up sources and methods. Its sort of the art term of art that they use. If you are revealing one of those, they shouldnt release it. But they can do a redacted version. They can also share the information with the Inspector General for the intelligence community. Share it with the Inspector General for the department of justice, michael horowitz. Have some 450 people working for him. And he can also make a referra criminal referral to e attorney general himself for action. My guess is all of those things are already in motion u. Have you got to take that very seriously. The guy used to on behalf of the United States government, prosecute terrorism cases. He has an impeccable background and those two gentlemen, one from judiciary, one from oversight, theyre pursuing anything thats nonrussia related, but the intel committee, they ought to release this report. Brian so you are talking about, which is mentioned, too the day after the election, i believe donald trump won, if my memory serves me correct, theres talk of a secret society of officials within the fbi. They apparently met that day after the election. They soon to plot against the president of the United States. Like a bad plot for a novel let alone now we find out soon after all the Text Messages disappear for five months into the day Robert Mueller is appointed as special prosecutor. Thats not a coincidence. If you are sitting there, where do you go from here .
