Several taken to hospitals. One a child with a head injury whiles motive wasnt immediately clear police say it was deliberate. At this time we do believe it is a deliberate act. However, we dont know the motivation and its still early stages of the investigation. Police say the driver is 32yearold man of afghan dissent with a history of drug abuse and Mental Health issues. No links to terrorism or extremism as of yet. But the investigation kins. Witnesses said the vehicle was traveling at about 60 miles per hour, run a red light crashing into pedestrians before Good Samaritans rushed to the car and pulled the two men out. Prime minister malcolm burn bull calling it shocking and tweeting thoughts and prayers for victims and First Responders. Finally guys, the icket connells almost a year after six people were killed. 30 injured in a nearby area where another car attacker launched an attack. But that, too not terrorrelated. Steve thats right. Increase Capital Spending by a billion dollars. They feel now that they are cutting their taxes they can afford it wells fargo is going to hike their hourly rate to 15 an hour. Fifth third bank will raise the minimum payment to 15 per hour. And everybody gets onetime bonus of 1,000 bucks. And comcast is going to wind up giving out thousand dollar bonuses to more than 100,000 employees. Ainsley nonexecutive employees. The big plane maker boeing, 300milliondollar employee and charitable investment. They are able to invest because the top corporate rate yesterday went from 35 to 21. 14 . That list that you and brian just read, nonexecutive employees, hourly 3,000 hourly employees at fifth third bank. Hourly employees at wells fargo. This is helping the little guy. Now we know they are popping champagne down pennsylvania avenue. There are only two places where america is popping champagne, the white house and the Corporate Board rooms, including trump tower. Otherwise, americans have a lot to regret. After all the president s promises, after all republicans brazenly transparent misrepresentations to the personal people, the true face of what republicans stand for has been revealed. Well, it is a victory for billionaires like donald trump. Its a victory for wealthy Campaign Contributors like the koch brothers. This is a disaster for the American People. Brian which is strange because if you look at what is happening in a lot of the major high tax states like new york and california and new jersey, they actually those who earn the most are actually getting almost to some degree a tax increase and the top bracket goes from 39 to 37. The other brackets go conceivably much lower. If you look at the other side. And you understanding that most of the networks are doing that you understand too why when asked about this plan will you save money, will you pay less taxes, most americans are down on that prospect. Its not a mystery. Its because everybody is running down the plan even before the ink was dry. Steve the Mainstream Media was saying this is going to be bad for the middle class. He suggested that in high tax states, for instance, new jersey, why dont we make all those state and local taxes, property taxes fully deductible at the state level . Thats something they could do. It would cost them 150 million, why dont they do it . Because they have got they are spending it on something else. They dont want to do that. They could, they have driven up the tax rates in these states so high and this is a way out. Theyre not going to do anything about it. Ainsley i dont understand why the democrats if you look at the majority of the country and look at the tax brackets, the majority of the country is not going to pay as much in taxes. Definitely going to save money. You have more money to feed your kids, send them to college. I dont understand how they can look at these numbers and say its not going to happen. They will be eating crow if more Companies Continue to do this. Its this is day one. It hasnt been 24 hours sips this was signed by or passed by both house and senate, and already companies are giving back to their employees. If this continues to happen and because of the Corporate Tax rate going down, if more Companies Stay in the u. S. And move to the u. S. , our economy is going to boom. If they make the president look bad and put it into dividends or give their ceos bonuses they wont see it again. No republican could ask for it again. Because they are sponsored by a relative who already lives here it can be a distant relative. Here is the reality. It doesnt make economic sense. And it doesnt make National Security sense. On the economic side, the majority listen, i love immigration, but we have to do it better. The majority of immigrant head of households in the United States right now, receive some form of welfare. That is totally different to the immigration realities that were faced by people like my father and many of our parents and great grandparents who came here. They expected nothing but an opportunity in the United States. Thats not the reality right now. We have to change that. Brian the president wants to make it more of a draft and less of a lottery. Heres some stats i think would help enlighten everybody why you have this point of view. The majority of green cards issued in the United States, 65 family based immigration. So, because one person is here, the rest get to come without screening just because they are related. 15 are refugees and 7 are family of employment based immigrants, 6 based on immigrants and 5 based on a visa lottery system. Overall, last year, in terms of immigrants, in 2016, 804,000 came here through chain. In 2015, that was 678. This is trending in the wrong direction. Right. Brian i sense that democrats to a degree agree and there might be something being done behind the scenes massive immigration reform. Is that what you are hearing . I think. So thats in the offing. We have a deal in january where the president exchanges permanent protection for Daca Recipients in exchange for an end or at least restrictions on chain migration. And an end to the visa lottery system. Brian, that is just lunancy. The idea that we would literally at random allow people to come to the United States makes no sense and on the National Security side by the way, the awful incident on halloween, the truck attack on a new york sidewalk where 8 innocent people were mowed down, he was here because he won, i mean, i dont even like to use that term, but he won the visa lottery. Thats just outlandish and unsafe system to allow anyone into the United States. It has to be merit based. What kind of skills and drive do you bring to this country. Do you love our values and constitution and embrace the system that is america and selfsufficient. Through all controversies, through everything else, people keep saying you know what . He fighting for me to. Reason to run for president unless he wanted to do this for the American People. A lot of people resonate with that message and one that was really strong and smart for his inaugural theme. Ainsley do you have another one . This next one somebody somewhat controversial, i think. But the president calling kim jong un rocket man. The way that he uses some of these digs, these nicknames some people say they dont like it. They stick and they really have lasting impact. Take a look at this one. The United States has great strength and patience. But if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we have no choice but to totally destroy north korea. Rocket man is on a Suicide Mission for himself and for his regime. Ainsley a lot of people did love that speech. A lot of people loved that speech. The idea of rocket man continuing to be talked about, whether its rocket man, fake news, crooked hillary. Think of all the names. He controls the narrative when he does things like that and really gets headlines on it. Its a smart move on his part. Ainsley what were some of the worst this year . Some of the worst i think were unintentional. If you remember, senator jeff flake was caught on a hot mike talking, take a look at it. Become the party of roy moore and donald trump, we are toast. I dont want blow smoke at you but you are the guy just for fun. Just think how much fun it would be to be the foil and point out what an idiot this guy is. Ainsley forgot they were wearing the mike. There clearly was a lot of antagonism in that relationship. Not all that surprising kind of conversation we are having. Certainly didnt do anything to elevate the status of a senator. Ainsley anything else . Yeah. We do have one more. This was one that i was really upset about personally and i think a lot of people were, too. When after the after all the shootings people said thoughts and prayers and they started of going after that. Lets take a look at this one. Im so sick of thoughts and prayers. Thoughts and prayers are really important. Prayers are not just wishing on a star. Prayers are an act of faith saying i do want faith and intervention and god to be here and comfort those folks. They couldnt afford to buy it the premiums were too high and then they had to pay that penalty. You know, Chuck Schumer just likes to put a rock on the neck of the American Worker and say hey, mr. Ainsley i feel its a lot about choice. Giving americans choices. You dont have to buy into obamacare. You are not going to be penalized if you dont want to do it. If you want to send your child to a private school but you obviously pay taxes so you are paying for the public schools, now you can do it without paying the extra taxes because of the 529 plan its not just for colleges anymore. Now its for private schools. Giving americans more choices and they get to choose how they raise their kids. More food on the table. About freedom. Ainsley more people are going to be shopping at walmarts or targets this christmas because they have more money in their pockets. An evil act. An act of cowardice. Perpetrated against innocent bystanders. And it is a cowardly act. And the driver here, the 32yearold slamming into a cable car stop, slamming that suv into a cable car stop near melbournes busiest train station right in the heart of the downtown of this city in southern australia. This is an area that sees about 100,000 commuters a day on that cable car and at that station. Eyewitnesses describe bodies flying off the hood of the suv as it sped through. Among the 19 people hurt, 15 in stable condition. Four in critical. Including a preschooler with head injuries. We are hoping that those four in critical do survive although its too early to tell at this point. Another man arrested at the scene for videotaping the scene. And theyre donating 400 million to nonprofit organizations. Steve bank is raising their minimum wage to 15 an hour. Ainsley everybody. Steve comcast has 100,000 employees, theyre going to be giving 1,000 bonuses. Ainsley to the nonexecutives. Steve and going to invest 50 billion in infrastructure, which every Company Needs to do and now that they have the big tax cut, they can. And boeing is going to put 300 million into an Employee Charity i believe investment fund. So clearly, when you lower the top rate for corporations from 35 to 21, they got 14 to suddenly give back to the people. Brian well, what they didnt give is big marginal individual rate reductions. They wanted to. They did it through reconciliation only 51 votes. They couldnt do it as massive as they can and a lot of people pointing out in ten years, these rates expire. So people are saying why do corporations have permanent . Why do individuals have temporary . Well, the hope is as many pick tax cuts that these will stick around too. The democrats did not waste any time telling you how bad your lifes going to be. Now, we know theyre popping champagne down pennsylvania avenue. There are only two places where americas popping champagne. The white house and the Corporate Boardrooms. Including trump tower. Otherwise, americans have a lot to regret. After all the president s promises, brazenly transparent misrepresentations to the American People, the true face of what republicans stand for has been revealed. Well, it is a victory for billionaires like donald trump. Its a victory for wealthy Campaign Contributors like the coke brothers. But this is a disaster for the American People. Senator corker announced his decision, and he is facing backlash over a lastminute change to the legislation being dubbed the corker kick back. The 20 deduction for pass through income also now being called the corker kick back would cost the government alone just by that change. The senator said he had nothing to do with a provision. So has senator corker been a victim of the fake news trend just like President Trump that many said was just a slogan . One of the most respected on both sides of the aisle. Senator, what is the corker kick back . Look, this is a travesty that Something Like this will be put to poverty. Look, the fact is this was a provision that came from the house of representatives. Brian, ive had zero impact on a word of the tax file. The focus on deficits. The reporter that wrote about this knew i was unaware of the vision. I sat down on thursday and walked through the house and senate bill as it was being published, if you will. And this was not a provision that was even brought up. The reporter calls. And your name actually has been linked to this for a while because you were pushing an increase in the Child Tax Credit. In the ultimate final bill, it essentially is doubled. And i know you also had mike lee with you, the senator from utah and marco rubio as well. Explain to the folks at home what its going to do for them. Well, the president was very clear that he wanted this bill to accomplish two goals, of american businesses to be competitive and therefore lead to wage increase for working americans. But to also target relief at middle income families and tax credit is an incredible way to do that. We all know that the cost of raising children has gone up exponential in this country as until recently wages have stag nade. So raising children is a very important investment that we as a country can make and in the future, this is the next generation of American Workers, american entrepreneurs and innovators. So the Child Tax Credit was doubled. The refundability was expanded. Very importantly the standard deduction, the standard for the average family, the standard deduction was actually doubled, which is enormously beneficial. The child and the tax carecredit was maintained as part of the bill. The accommodation. Steve a lot of good stuff. Well, if you look at the things that were cut, it wasnt lobbyists or special interest. The things that were expanded were things like the Child Tax Credit that have such meaningful impact for everyday americans. One of the things that was really so amazing to me traveling across the country was the sense of financial most American Families experience. Even middle income American Families. The average American Family cant come up with 400 in the event of an emergency and my father is committed to changing that. This administration is committed to changing that. And what were doing to encourage growth during deregulation is one of the mechanisms. But tax reform is an enormous vehicle to create the type of growth that will lend itself to prosperity for all americans and this is a historic milestone, historic accomplishment. Were all incredibly excited. Weve been working so closely with congress and as a administration been unified in achieving the president s goals. Ainsley yeah, ivanka, some of these companies are already benefiting. It has not even been 24 hours and workers at some of the companies that we all use on a daily basis are benefiting. For instance, at t, 200,000 of their employees are getting 1,000 each before christmas. And then at wells fargo, the hourly wages are now going up to 15 an hour. Fifth third bank, their wages are going up to 15 an hour. Comcast, the nonexecutives. The people who arent the bosses and make the big bucks, 100,000 of them are getting 1,000 bonuses. So youre saying some of these families, they cant cover an emergency. Theyre living paycheck to paycheck. 1,000. Thats really big right before christmas. What a gift for them. It is such important, meaningful release. And really, ainsley, this is just the beginning. Its just starting. So we know that this is only going to increase and grow as Companies Bring back money that have been parked overseas. As companies reinvest in businesses. One of the incredible elements of this plan is the fact that for five years, 100 of capital expensing by businesses. So it enables them to modernize to invest back in their businesses. So im deeply passionate about entrepreneurship and encouraging american innovation, and i believe the tax reform is so critical for us to be competitive and create that next generation of american entrepreneur and Small Business owners and give them the confidence to launch their business and give them the confidence to invest in their business and invest in their workforce. Brian but if these major corporations dont take advantage of this fuent and do the right thing instead of putting it into the executives pockets, theyre never going to get it again. Senator flake and collins and others were a no and came aboard. You played a role on that. You never want to play attention to yourself. I respect that. But he brought attention to you. Listen. He essentially said that ivanka played a major role behind the scenes in getting us to a yes vote in order to explain further what he needed and what the rest of the senate needed. Can you bring us behind the scenes . Yeah. And it was a great privilege to be able to do so. We worked incredibly well as a team. I think weve over the course of the year learned how to work as a unified voice. So i saw a lot of time on behalf of the administration and with members of the administration, gary cohn, secretary mnuchin, our whole team on the hill and talking with different senators. And he had real integrity around this processes. So i will say that for sure. He had his concerns. He felt that his concerns were adequately addressed, and he really believed that tax relief coupled with deregulatory actions will create the growth that will start to erode and ultimately eliminate National Debt that has been incurred over the last several decades.
