Take a look at what weve seen. In places like oklahoma, we actually saw a tornado yesterday. This is reported in the afternoon hours. You can see on your screen in rural oklahoma. There are also reports of flash flooding occurring across parts of kansas and the flash flood threat will actually continue through the day today across other areas farther east as the storm system continues on the move. Its a very slow moving storm system. As you see on your map, you can see were expecting Severe Weather from texas to parts of the carolinas. Theres a risk of Severe Weather with damaging winds, hail, isolated tornadoes being possible. Flash flood watches out there for most of the states that continues the front with the focus of more showers and storms. This is what chuck todd asked Hillary Clinton on meet the press based on some other news reporting that he has access to. Listen to this. No charges. Theres some news reports out there that indicate no charges that it looks like no charges may be brought against you in a final decision in a couple of weeks. Were you given that indication today, that no charges would be filed . And are you confident no charges will be filed . Chuck, i am not going to comment on the process. I mean, how do they know that . We havent heard that anywhere at all. Democrats know that because they say they trust the system. Lets take a listen to democrat javier. The folks doing the investigation, the investigators at the fbi, the prosecutors who know how the process has to work, theyll make that recommendation. I am prepared to accept that recommendation. Republicans are saying something different. Theyre thinking something smells of a scandal. Lets listen to what former senator Rick Santorum said this week. Look, this is a very cozy relationship between the president and mrs. Clinton. The fact na she hes going to campaign for her in the face of this looming investigation and potential indictment shows that maybe he knows something that the rest of us dont know. Where is this information coming from . Senator santorum saying maybe because the president is going to be campaigning this week. He wouldnt do that. Tomorrow he wouldnt do that if there was a looming indictment handing down. Standing side by side with an indicted candidate. Wednesday is the Vice President. Right. Obviously the white house is assuming everything is going to be okay, hunkydory for Hillary Clinton to move on. Where the networks are getting this information from, who knows because no one was in that room except for Hillary Clinton, the fbi. She calls this a security review and say this was a voluntary interview. Many are saying the clintons are simply playing by their own rules. We have donald trump echoing that. All caps. This is somebody who has served her country for four years as secretary of state. If you get indicted would you oh, for goodness that is not happening. I am not going to answer that question. I can tell you this is not a situation in which Americas National security was endangered. The judge on the show thursday said she thought everything changed when a short time ago Hillary Clinton said this. She went out and said, look, everyone knew. Everyone knew that i had my own server and that basically implicated everybody in the administration. Theres no way that james comey or others are going to compromise a constitutional crisis. You bring that up. President obama in his first administration, his first term had issued an edict for telling people stop using private emails. Right. Hillary clinton continued to do it as secretary of state. She even put her own edict to one department. One guy who did it was fired. Right. The post is saying they never set up an agency email for hillary being that she would use the private server and everybody would have known. The other networks reporting that. I want to get your take first of all on some of the comments that chuck todd was making to Hillary Clinton yesterday saying hes hearing no charges coming down. What does he know . Well, happy Independence Day, clayton. Its great to be with you. Chuck todd doesnt know anything. This is the orwelian dominating the outcome. The fbi im quite sure directed mrs. Clinton not to go out and discuss the interview that was conducted over the weekend. What was the first thing that she did . She went out and had a sitdown or her interview with chuck todd. This is about getting the news cycle ahead of the investigation and getting the narrative ahead of the investigation. Look, we cannot have a federal bureau of investigation that has been compromised with politics. We know about that with the irs. Too late for that, colonel. These are three additional follow beings, even if Loretta Lynch were to step aside, there are three other folks, career prosecutors, all democrats, sally yates, valley jarrett, Leslie Caldwell that this investigation is hinged on. Is Hillary Clinton going to get a fair and nonpolitical outcome . Well, i think when you look at the agents of the federal bureau of investigation, it comes down to them understanding what justice is and law and order is. I think theyre going to do the right thing. When you go back and look at some of the comments that have been made by president obama, if this were in the military wed have something thats called undue command influence and president obama would be guilty of that. That has clear ramifications. So you have this theme thats being developed. You have this narrative thats being developed because Hillary Clinton has been very smart when she said that i had my own private email server and everyone knew about it. She has made everyone in the Obama Administration come police sit in it. She said a couple of months ago that everyone knew about it. The post saying the agency never set up an agency email for her, that this was planned well in advance. Well, we know that the state Department Inspector general said no one ever submitted a request to that office to have a private email server set up. Furthermore, if someone had sent in a request, they would have denied it. That is a false narrative. It is a lie that ms. Clinton put out there and we come to note it as not the truth. This just comes to show the arrogance of Hillary Clinton, bill clinton, barack obama and everyone else. You talked about the embassy, the consulate at saudi a rain that that doesnt need to be attacked. We dont need another set of lies and denials and corruption. Thanks for being with us. Good morning, anna. I understand that your ceo heard a report on Fox News Channel back in 2011 about the high Unemployment Rate for our veterans and wanted to take action. What action have you been able to take . Thats correct. And what we have done is we actually wanted to be pro active as far as looking for military veterans and making sure that they understood that health care was a great opportunity for them. And so what weve done, weve gone out, weve done a lot of job fairs for them. Weve also worked with the transition offices at several bases and just to get the word out that health care is it a great opportunity for not just clinicians but also others as well. Avery, we wanted to bring you on the program because our jaws were on the ground when we saw these numbers. Over 2400 veterans were hired this year by you guys, 600 military spouses hired this year alone and over 4,000 veterans were hired in the previous two years. It is jaw dropping. What type of skills do our veterans have that translate well to the Health Care Industry . Well, we look at individuals and its not just for the Health Care Industry, but we also look at individuals as far as what they bring to the table. When we look at someone, theyve definitely got an accelerated learning as far as training them new things in health care. They also are disciplined. We also have a lot of processes and procedures, of course, that we follow in health care. If theyre coming from the military side of things, they fit in with us very well. Strong work ethic, work well in teamtype environments and so many other unique skills as well. There are also some unique challenges that our veterans deal with when they come back from serving our great nation. I understand you are an air force veteran yourself. What are some of the unique challenges you face and others in your same situation . Well, at the time that i got out of the military in 85 i actually didnt have the same challenges that people run into now. Back in 2011 when we started our program we actually saw that there was such a high level of unemployment and the unemployment when i got out in 85 wasnt the same as it is now. And so we just wanted to be part of that, to be able to help in any way that we could, to lower that Unemployment Rate for our veterans and military spouses. You are looking for thunderstorms that could bring isolated Severe Weather in the form of damaging winds, large hail and even tornadoes. Flash flood threat in place from West Virginia to portions of oklahoma. Some areas already dealing with flooding right now as the storms continue impacting those areas. Otherwise, temperatures in the Southern Plains and southeast are going to be on the hot side. Were talking 90s and triple digits for many of you. You do have a lot of humidity in place. It is going to feel a lot hotter than what the thermometer reads. As we head into the evening many of you expecting good weather across the area because of the Fireworks Show. Our next guest is author of the new book Douglas Macarthur, american hero. Arthur herman joins me to weigh in on this. I comment you on this wonderful book at Douglas Macarthur. I used to live in norfolk, virginia. Theres a museum thats dedicated to macarthurs legacy and hes buried there. Yes. And if we go back to his leadership, what would he say in a day and age where were confronting terrorism from radical islam . Well, i think the first thing he would say is youre not really confronting it, are you . Youre not even calling it by what it is. If he were to see Douglas Macarthur in an executive position either in the white house or lets say secretary of defense, secretary of state, thats the first thing he would say. Youve got to call it what it is. He would call it radical islam because when you call it what it is, that helps us define what were fighting and why. The next thing he would do is he would look at isiss forces in iraq and syria and he would seriously step up an air campaign against them. Instead of talking about degrading isis, hed talk about devastating isis. Devastating it. And cutting it off and isolating it on the battlefield. The third thing he would do is get american troops involved in order to show our allies that we mean business and that were serious about destroying isis as a Political Force as well as a military force. Wouldnt he also reach out to the American People and get them behind the men and women serving in harms way . We have this amazing gift of oratry. He was an amazing speaker and phrase maker. I shall return. Old soldiers never die, they just fadeaway. Theres no substitute for victory. Now thats a formula for success for American Foreign policy and defense policy right there. He was a generals general, a soldiers soldier, but he could also be a politician. And what your book reveals is that his politics could also wrangle the feathers of leaders and even the American Public because he became very divisive. I would say this, the subtitle of the book is called american warrior. I chose that because he wasnt just at war with americas foes, at times he was at war with his own superiors, including chiefs of staff, including three president s with whom he clashed, hoover, roosevelt and harry truman who finally removed him from his time in korea. Exactly. Whats striking about this. Even though everybody realized he was a bear to deal with, particularly when he knew he was right and they were wrong, they respected his ability and long unpair a leld position as a leader. Hes the ultimate supreme commander. Would he receive the kind of respect today in todays Political Climate and in terms of those who are running for office . We have Hillary Clinton running on the democrat side, of course, and we have donald trump running on the republican side. What would a Douglas Macarthur say about todays current climate politically . I think he would find it to be not that different from what it was in the late 40s and early 50s when he came back from korea. We forget how divisive it was, republicans and democrats each accusing the other of having lost china, stalemate in korea, of the role of communists and communist subversion in the country. There was a lot of bitterness and he would recognize it. But he would say, look, we are in the end allamericans. What draws us together is a common cause, a common nation symbolized by our flag and i think you would see him as someone who would be a uniting figure not a polarizing figure. Arthur herman.
