The prosnowden argument is this is a free society, this is the United States of america, we have the government should be transparent and we have a right to know what the government is doing. And the other was, and i took this oath when i became a judge, to preserve, protect and defend the constitution. When it is impossible to comply with both of those, you comply with the higher of the two and you reveal what is failing to preserve, protect athe constitution. I dont know how this ends up. It looks like hes presented as a hero, the guy who said, hey, america, the nsa can turn your phone on in your pocket, turn on your camera and listen any time they want to. That is true. I dont know they have the resources to do that. They could if they wanted to. To do that to everyone all the time, but absolutely, they can do that. What i am always concerned about is that we have become to accept this. It is commonplace and we expect the government is monitoring us. And that is not the system that the framers gave us. The other argument is these are dangerous, treacherous times. And we dont want to see a brussels or parislike event or god forbid another 9 11 happen here. Since snowden made his allegations, the new patriot act was paired down because americans are saying, have we given the government too much power to spy on us . The government would have been smarter had they had the debate. Remember, the government has been spying on americans without search warrants and Legal Authority since 1990. Right. Spying on members of congress on the cia, on the military, the American People have the right to know what the government is doing and agree with it or disagree with it and stop it. He was beaten in five states by donald trump. Hes back 400 points delegates, that is to say, and his Cruz Kasich Alliance earlier in the week fizzled. But Carly Fiorina has been a stalwart for him since she decided to endorse him back on the florida primary. You have somebody who understands the issues. Shes actually become an experienced politician considering she did well in running for senator running for barbara boxers seat in california. I would say this. They say in indiana, she might not be as strong for carly as california would be. Because when she she did some outsourcing with hewlettpackard. You have to remember that women are proud of her, she was a ceo, and what was the stage it was the bstage debate. The undercard. The undercard. We are both proven conservatives who are committed to and have fought the system. On the other hand, you have donald trump and Hillary Clinton. I put them in the same category because theyre in the same category. They agree on many things. They are two sides of the same coin. Hillary clinton has made her millions selling access and influence and donald trump has made his billions buying people like Hillary Clinton off. So if you want to be have a nominee whos actually a conservative and who will fight the system, now you have a real clear choice. All right. Thats true, but when you guys are on the stage, theres 17 strong at some point, and at two stages we couldnt fit everybody on. You were going at each other and for a while it seemed like you were somebody who would never team with ted cruz. For example, listen to this. What i know about ted cruz is he is a real conservative who doesnt sacrifice his values and his principles. Look at that picture 50 years ago of marine buddies fresh out of basic training before they were deployed to vietnam. 50 years later, the same guys on the same Florida Beach recreating the image from when they were all barely 20 years old. So we took the picture for fun. Okay. I do remember a little bit about the board. We shook a guy down. [ laughter ] no serious. We intimidated this guy. We need your surfboard. Yeah, we said we need it right now and he took the picture of us. We were very full of ourselves. We really were. We were all part of the weapons platoon. Three machine gunners and a bazooka man. We didnt know what what we were headed for but we were excited. We were going on a ship called the iwo jima. We were going to park off the coast of iwo jima and it was going to be exciting. Of course, that all changed 11 months later. No kidding. You all served in vietnam. Yes. You were best friends in that picture. But life goes on. People fall out of touch with each other and thats what happened for 50 years. 46 years, we all connected on the internet. Okay . And we had a reunion, myself, tom, and bob up at tom hanks house up in atlanta. Dennis didnt make that one. We had another one the three of us a couple of years later but this time dennis came to this one because of the significance of 50 years. It struck a cord. I think i read in the local naples paper, you were not crazy about getting back together. Yeah. Didnt want to . I didnt want to. I felt we could call it a little survivors guilt, you know . Were so blessed. The things we saw, the things we did, and the fact that we made it out alive we just got a gift of 50 years. But theres tens of thousands of men and women who didnt get any time. Well, you guys came back from vietnam 50 years ago. You did not get a heros welcome. Right. No. Some people famously spit on returning vets so you didnt talk about your service. No. When i got off the plane after 11,000 mile plane fight, just aboutnonstop, two stops in between there, my mother and father were the only ones at the airport that met me. Yeah. I think that the popularity and the reason this went viral is that america knows how bad we had it coming home. And theyre liking us now. Sure. What do you want to say to the vets of today . Well god bless them. God bless them and protect them. They have too many restrictions. I would like to see the bureaucrats and politicians that come up with the rules of engagement to be the first ones to do it. Sure. Im serious. Im worried about our kids today. She has been very effective against hillary. The only thing i thought was a little maybe a little slightly odd is cruz kept saying shes the most effective against hillary. Well, dont we want cruz to be the most effective against hillary . I think its a smart move on his part. Im not sure it makes that much difference in indiana. But it shows that the media is playing it fair. When he became the story, he swamped trump. Yeah. Trump has been the story because of the things he says, good, bad, controversial, interesting. His background. Whatever it is. Good point, brian. Here is ted cruz saying the media they want to put this narrative no. You had a great tease at 11 00, it became the story at night. Hes done what trump did in the past. He had a 40 minute speech before Carly Fiorina came on. In part introducing her and in part putting out his vision for america. I mean, i mean this is politics. You have to use the leverage that you have when you have it. And yesterday he did what i think he needed to do to try to reorient this conversation politically after six losses in a row. Its not been a great run for him in the last few weeks. He had to change that narrative. So thats whats happening in the cruz camp. Then you had trump. Trump goes to indiana, he gets indianas favorite man to campaign with him. Coach bobby knight. Take a listen to this and well get your reaction. Because i think, you know, im not a republican, and im not a democrat. And i have always voted because i think that voting is a special thing that we have in this country that isnt in a lot of different countries. I have always voted, but ive always voted for the person that i thought was the best for the job. Theres no question [ applause ] theres no question in my mind that the man sitting between the two of us is far and away the best person to lead america back where we all want to be led. And when you think when you think of knight and what he represented to indiana, not this drive to victory, the drive to win above all else, politically incorrect. Yeah, theyre fighters and they fight against the bullies. Either the inantiof the press and they have a similar view of winning and people respect that and the nambypamby gender neutral world we live in, they both come across as alpha males and men and women find that refreshing out there. Ghas the end whats the end game, winning. They dont seem to care. Im going to add this to this. It looks as though i thought it was interesting that donald trump didnt come up with a nickname for carly and cruz and have and make it a big deal. He just said it doesnt he said it in an intellectual way, it doesnt seem like a good thing or the right thing. But he moved on. I thought that tactically was a good move being that the female vote, he was the detractors wanted to see if hed go off on another woman situation. Yeah. No, he cant do that. I was at the Foreign Policy speech yesterday which again, a lot of people on the left and a lot of the neoconservatives on the right are poopooing this speech. I think again trump has a better sense of where the average person is when it comes to our Foreign Policy priorities and any of the news media than any of the news media will understand. They dont understand his rise, they were denigrating him and kicking him to the curb. What does he do . He goes out and says, we made mistakes on the right and the left, democrats and republicans and we need a policy that works for the american family, for the American People. We wont be stupid. Hes clearly turning a page. Away from bush, away from obama. To a new type of Foreign Policy. That was i think, you know, very consequential speech and all the right people in my mind are denigrating that today. Again, they still dont get it. Of course. All right, lets move from the campaign to culture. A young woman by the name of alexis bloomer, she pulled over her car. She was thinking about the things she had seen. She got her camera out and she taped this which is seen by 41 Million People. As a millennial, i took it upon myself to try to evaluate whats so wrong with our generation and why theyre so mad at us. Then i realized that were just existing, were not contributing anything to society. We dont respect our elders. We dont respect our country. Were lazy. Were really entitled. We want to make a lot of money and have Free Education but were not willing to put in the work. Were more divided as a country than ever before and i think our generation has a lot to do with that. Everything that was it all happened at a post office. I saw an elderly man walking in and limping and the two boys ran past him. It rubbed me the wrong way. I was taught to, if there was an elder open the door for them. You respect them and take the time to make them feel special. It should be expected, but i guess i i didnt expect it to go viral at all because i thought it was like i said it was expected from society. It shouldnt go viral, because its something were all taught to do. It was a call to action more than a rant. We need to step up and be a better generation. Isnt she just like a great example of what millennials, what we want our millennials to be like . You know, the cliches are all coming to my mind. But breath of fresh air, i mean, as someone i have a lot of great millennials working for me at lifezette. We howl because we sit around and we chat and we say, well, remember that kid who came in and the first question he asked was, you know, i have a snowboarding trip scheduled in a couple of weeks, so like is it cool for me to take that time off if i start like tomorrow . Its located up in garrison, new york. Thats right. Once a year they put together a big show. You were the honorees and the ailes family put it all together. You told a great story i understand. If youre unfamiliar with lee majors personal story, both your parents died before you were 2. Yeah, my mom well, my father died when my mom was eight months pregnant with me. Then my mom was run over by a drunk driver waiting to go to work at a local hospital as a cleaning lady. I was 16montholds old at the time. You were adopted by your aunt and uncle. I thought they were my real parents, but then at about 12 years old i found the newspaper in the cedar chest youre not supposed to be in. Right. There was a little picture of me at 16 months, i put it back and i never told them i knew. So what it did was instilled in me a sense of having to prove myself. Sure. Which gave me a great lesson in life. It changed my perspective of life. I had to just it gave me great determination to get where i am. But as i said real quick last night if theres time, there was a saying that i heard, if you never set your eyes on your real father he has Strange Powers. I was thinking i had the Strange Powers because i kept achieving stuff. But then i realized i had another father up there that was looking out for me. I found out that god was really my father. Your story was so inspiring to everyone in that audience last night. On the screen, you got to hear from the homeless men that are living at st. Christophers inn. They told their story and they were crying and they said, because of this place i was able to put drugs aside and be a great father to my children. We heard your story, faith. You talked about loss in your life. You were raised by a single mom, you had three sisters, one killed in a car accident. Lets hear your story from last night. To tell you a little bit about myself, i was raised by a single mother who raised three daughters by herself. Times were tough. She had to work two and three jobs just to put food on the table. And during these times of struggle, my mom instilled in me and my sisters, hard work, perseverance, and to always believe, have faith and trust in god that he will make a way. And he did. Thats a good recipe for life. Then she lost her mom also at a very young age of 60. So whats your advice to people that are going through something similar . For me, never give up. It doesnt matter my mom would say it doesnt matter what it looks like or sounds like or feels like, keep believing and trusting that god will make a way. Its not always easy, but its like i said last night for every acting job i have gotten in the last 53 years i say, thank you, father. Thats nice. Indeed. Youre still working.
