Where pete hegseth is had the First Exclusive interview after the nomination. Pete not a bad view here at the north lawn of the white house. It is drizzling a little bit. I had a opportunity to sit down with the president. Well play big chunks of this interview. I had a chance to sit in the rose garden, to see Amy Coney Barrett formally nominated t was a beautiful family. She was resolute. The president was confident. Historic day. Ultimately the days unfold from here, will, whether or not she becomes the next associate justice. Will not a surprise but now it is official. Judge Amy Coney Barrett has been nominated to the Supreme Court by President Trump. Judge barretts confirmation hearings are set to start next month. Jennifer is outside the steps of the Supreme Court. Good morning, jennifer. Reporter as you mentioned the Senate Judiciary committee set october 12th for the start of the confirmation hearing for the 115th justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Yesterday in the rose garden we heard the president s nominee Amy Coney Barrett speak from the white house. And pay tribute to Ruth Bader Ginsburg, her idealogical opposite but recognizes this will be a fight. I have no illusions that the road ahead of me will be easy either for the short term or the long haul. I never imagined that i would find myself in this position but now that i am, i assure you that i will meet the challenge with both humility and courage. Reporter one week from monday is the start of the next court session. Among the first cases they expect to hear virtually, concerns the future of the Affordable Care act, aspects of which barrett has written she believes are unconstitutional. Democrats are already preparing to attack barrett on health care. Joe biden wrote, vote like your health care is on the ballot because it is. Kamala harris says this selection would move the court further right for a generation and harm millions of americans. Chuck schumer saying barrett would pose a real threat to barrett and their lives. She graduated first in her Law School Class in notre dame. She would tip the idealogical scales six conservatives to three liberals. She would join five other catholics on the court. She is a textualist in the from her former mentor judge antonin scalia. Judge ginsburg received a vote of 963. Amy Coney Barrett is under no illusions she will have such a easy confirmmation process. Back to you. Pete what infolds we learned recently october 12th will likely be the start of confirmation hearings for Barrett Barrett. Jennifer mentioned Justice Scalia. I was taken watching the ceremony said i clerked for Justice Scalia more than 20 years ago but the lessons i learn still resonate. His judicial philosophy is mine too. I love this country and i love the u. S. Constitution. It was powerful statements, Opening Statements in this, but i had a chance to sit down just off the oval office in a private part of the garden with the commanderinchief from the president of the United States as he reflected on why he chose Amy Coney Barrett. Here is a portion of it. President trump this is a person who is just outstanding. A great student, a great scholar. I think it will be really thrilling. I hope it goes smoothly. Perhaps it will, perhaps it wont. I think it will be very hard to dispute her qualifications or anything about her. It was thought of it last time but i thought at that time judge kavanaugh, the judge was very outstanding and i just felt that this was the right time. I did consider her at that time but when this happened with Justice Ginsburg, when this happened this seemed like a natural fit. Jedediah yeah. I think she gave an impressive, very impressive speech yesterday the way she paid tribute to Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I think what is really outstanding about this pick her own personal views dont matter. She keeps clarifying that for those on the left who dont seem to comprehend that issue but she is there to, to back up the law. I mean, this is a constitutionalist. This is an originalist. This is exactly what everyone frankly should be unified wanting on the court. I think she was a fantastic pick. I think that, she will do Ruth Bader Ginsburg legacy great because that is what should be on the seat. This should not be a debate about someones personal views. This job is not about your views. So i think she made that abundantly clear. From what ive seen thus far, from what ive seen of her rulings thus far we can trust her to do justice to that role if in fact she is confirmed. Pete youre right. She did a great job recognizing the legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg but at the same time youre getting entirely different type of justice. As predicted well cover this morning the attacks came right away on her. Theyre going to continue to come. They will be unrelenting. I asked the president about that as well. Is she ready, are they ready for this confirmmation battle, in the middle. Yeah, oh by the way, we have a president ial election coming up. So the remainder, not a but a good chunk of this interview coming up on our program 6 30, part one. More reaction to Amy Coney Barrett, how the president got to that decision and how they will navigate the attacks going forward, guys. Will attacks have been alluded throughout the morning, pete, jed, you bring them up. You heard the president react. You saw Jennifer Griffin lay out the attacks against Amy Coney Barrett. Well talk about them throughout the morning. For me, theyre essentially characterized at three different levels. One is formal argument against Amy Coney Barrett from the Democratic Party. Jedediah, you laid that out. That will have to do with the Affordable Care act, will do with her views on abortion. They will launch quoteunquote views against those laws. The more Aggressive Democratic Party will certainly be attacking, looking to poke holes for addressing her religion. Weve seen that in the past in 2017 with senators like Dianne Feinstein. The more extreme but no less influential elements of the left have started to look into her adoption of two kids from haiti. They have suggested that is act of performance, not the act of a loving parent. All levels of attack will be seen and heard on Amy Coney Barrett. I would suggest that she and many on the right should be prepared for a response. Those could come up, pete. Those could come up, jed. Go ahead, pete. Im sorry. Pete everything you said is valid. The problem is starts to focus quickly on the third aspect, whatever that third aspect may be, whether adopted kids or religious affiliations she had in a more personal level, so how quickly does it get personal and nasty is a big part of that equation. Jedediah the Affordable Care act, that criticism is not, should not really be on the Amy Coney Barrett. That criticism frankly can fall, should in some way fall on the Republican Party. The reason is, there has been a gap when it comes to republicans bringing something forward that is a complete, comprehensive alternative to obamacare that will be the biggest challenge they have to face. When there is a highlight on health care, we now are in the midst of a pandemic. Everyone looking at medical bills and whole Health Care System at large. Will republicans be able to answer that adequately given that weve been talking about health care since the times of hillary care. I dont feel they have come forth with a comprehensive pro free market alternative to obama care. That should be the key issue. That shouldnt involve Amy Coney Barrett. I looked what she said on obamacare. I have no issue with that whatsoever in terms of her rulings but it will bring the issue front and center. This we talk about how it will play during the debate, that debate couple days away. Debate prep, what debate prep and what joe biden thinks about with the upcoming debate against President Trump an, what he said on msnbc on saturday. Look the people know the president is a liar. They know that. It is not like it will come as a surprise to them. So im prepared to go out and make my case as to why i think he has failed. My guess is, this will be straight attack. Theyre going to be mostly personal. That is the only thing he knows how to do. He doesnt know how to debate the facts. Is not that smart. He doesnt know that many facts. He doesnt know much about Foreign Policy. He doesnt know much about domestic policy he doesnt know much about detail. He can do what he wants. Like you said, it will be mostly personal attacks and lies but i think the American People are on to him. Jedediah tell you guys spending time with the president if he makes the argument he is not smart or up to it he has got something coming. Will i imagine the president is plenty capable of defending his intellect. After four years he has a record to run on. Quick note, no masks at the debate. No handshake. Audience less than 80 people. Pete that is big audience for joe. That is big audience for joe. Will starting with your headlines, Los Angeles Police officer is in the hospital he was attacked inside of his own station. Pete well the decision is in. The President Trump officially nominated judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill late Justice Ginsburgs Supreme Court say can say. The mother of seven emphasizing her commitment to america and the constitution yesterday in the rose garden. I fully understand this is a momentous decision for a president and if the senate does me the honor of confirming me, i pledge to discharge the responsibilities of this job to the very best of my ability. I love the United States and i love the United States constitution. I am truly [applause] pete what can we expect from the potential future justice . Judge barretts former law clerk john adams joins me now. John, thank you so much for being here. Lets start right there, what should we expect from an associate justice Amy Coney Barrett. Good morning, pete, great to be with you. I think you can expect everything you saw last night. She is brilliant, courageous and fair. She is also someone who holds deep humanity, humility, great sense of humor given tremendous responsibilities and accomplishments. She will be a great Supreme Court justice. Pete john, yesterday i had a chance to ask the president. Well play a portion of that in just a moment about the issue of roe v. Wade. Which will be front and center, whether the court takes it up in this session or not. Do you believe that judge barrett would believe that it should be challenged and overturned . Well that is not her decision whether it should be challenged. As a judge parties will come before her with a case. She has to decide that case. Everything that i have seen, i can tell you how she approaches cases. She has an open mind and she has a foundational commitment that either side might be right and she will assess the arguments and the merits and the law. She cares only what the law requires irrespective of any personal preference or public pressure. Pete that is the challenge, right . Is that law or laws like it settled law of the land or is there an opportunity to be, to show fidelity to the original text of the constitution and make a change when theyre intentioned like that, on this or anything else would she be willing to make the kind of ruling to change something some might say has settled . Judge barrett wrote about being a originalist and textualist. In her originalism and textualism precedent plays an important role. You have to consider the precedent considering merits of any argument. I would emphasize she has an open mind, approaches every case looking at ideas and arguments and the facts before her. She doesnt prejudge anything. Pete john, certainly in hearing from her, hearing from you, hearing from others universally left and right people recognize what an intellect ultimately the judge is. Thanks for joining us. Thanks so much for having me. You got it. Pete joe biden hasnt held any official Campaign Events since wednesday. Will bidens laidback approach that is nice way to put it, get voters fired up . Former clinton advisor mark penn here to weigh in next. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. President trump there is a great hidden majority, i call it hidden, call it silent majority. It is not really silent. You see rallies. People showed up, we had 35,000 people show up at an airport on a short notice. We think there is a lot of things going on out there, much more so than even four years ago. Four years ago you saw it early, pete, but four years ago we had tremendous enthusiasm. It is much more now. It is much more this year. Jedediah that was President Trump with our own pete hegseth weighing in on voter enthusiasm and much more in petes exclusive interview. More of that will be coming up. While President Trump is hitting the trail joe biden is stick close to home, often ending his Public Events quite early. Can the former vps laidback approach still boost enthusiasm within his party . Well ask harris poll chairman and former clinton 2008 Clinton Campaign manager mark penn. It is a lively time to talk about this issue. Laidback approach . Joe biden has been largely absentee compared to President Trump. Does this hurt him . Well, look, so far this is a strategy that has gotten him where he is, so that, you know, we call this incumbent rose garden strategy but very rare for a challenger to have this strategy but if you have a lead, you often times sit on that lead. The problem is the lead is shrinking. I go back in our harris polls t was a 12 point lead in yesterdays polls. It is about a four point lead. At a certain point here you got to come out, and come out with a new strategy. Were also seeing that more people think donald trump is hardworking this campaign than joe biden. Jedediah mark, i have never seen anything like this honestly. Calling a lid sometimes, 8 30, 9 00 in the morning on really important newsworthy days where things happen you should be asked about, your opinion should be held. I have never seen anything like this. I want to ask but the distinction here. You have two very different campaigns, you had the Trump Campaign made the decision despite the fact we are in the midst of a pandemic were holding these rallies. Making the imprint felt on the ground. Theyre tweeting out images of it. Unapologetic embrace of that approach. You see joe biden largely praised virtual events, putting liz on very early. So how are voting really feeling about these two approaches . Well i think that theyre beginning to see the differences but a lot of is fueled by the media. We have to question, do you think the media is hard or easy on joe biden . Over 60 say easy. We asked is the media hard or easy on donald trump . Over 60 said hard. So normally in a campaign the media applies so much pressure to the campaign that theyre not answering questions if theyre not out there that you have to abandon the strategy. Obviously that is not happening. So, joe biden i will say is probably gotten in a lot more days of debate prep than donald trump. Donald trump has to close points. He is out there working. People see that he is working. Joe biden has to make it to the finish line with his lead intact and that is what he is doing. So i think there is a purpose to everything but normally when you run a campaign the media would apply so much pressure that you would have to show up for questions almost every day. Jedediah yeah. Were going to see how that debate prep holds up in just a few is today. I would argue, if youre not taking tough questions from the media, youre not getting out there, you will be rusty. There is no other way to look at it. Mark, thank you for being here. We appreciate your insights. Thank you. Jedediah coming up yesterday pete spoke, exclusively with President Trump on his first interview naming judge Amy Coney Barrett as the Supreme Court nominee. President trump mostly im looking for somebody that can interpret the constitution as written. We say it all the time. And she is very strong on that. Jedediah inside look into the president s election process next. Its official National Coffee day is now National Dunkin day celebrate with a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on september 29th. Will a historic day in washington as President Trump announces his third nominee for the Supreme Court. Jedediah judge Amy Coney Barrett accepting the nomination to fill late justice Ruth Bader Ginsburgs vacancy. Pete this morning im here at the white house where he had a chance to sit down exclusively with President Trump in his first interview on the nomination. Take a look. The pick is in, the third pick of your presidency. It is Amy Coney Barrett. How did you come to this pick, mr. President . President trump we have a list of about 45 people t was set up over a period of time, a long period of time, in conjunction with a lot of other people that are very talented conservative, but very talented people and it was definitely a time for a woman and so i had, i broke it down into five women and, this is a person who is just outstanding. A great student, a great scholar. Her professor, one of the most notable and actually, probably one of the most respected at notre dame said that amy was the best student he ever had, he was there many years. That was the best student. That means something. Academics mean something. I think it will be really thrilling. I hope it goes smoothly. Perhaps it will, perhaps it wont. I think it will be very hard to dispute her qualifications or anything about her. Pete when did you know about her, mr. President . There was speculation, report as year ago, you may have been saving her for ginsburgs opening. What has it been Crystal Clear. President trump im happy with the two people we put on. It is a proud moment for the president to put people on. Justice gorsuch, Justice Kavanaugh, they are outstanding people, outstanding men. It was time for a woman. I think i knew, there was thought of it last time but i thought at that time judge, judge kavanaugh was just very outstanding and i just felt that this was the right time. I did consider her at that time but, when this happened, with Justice Ginsburg, when this happened, this just seemed like a natural fit. Pete there are reports you spoken with her numerous times. Met with her at the white house. What did you talk about her, mr. President . Talk to her about any cases . President trump in i didnt do that. You can talk about anything you want i just really got to know her a little bit, a little bit last time. When this was happening on the process of happening i called her, i said i would like to have you come down. And just work out very quickly and very well. I didnt discuss certain concept the and certain things. Some people say you shouldnt. I dont see any reason why you shouldnt but i decided not to do it. I think it gives her freedom what she has to do. She has to make rulings. I think she will make a lot of people very proud. There is also, there has been i noticed, there is a tremendous clamoring for her. The public really, ive been seeing it, were all human, ive been seeing it. There was a tremendous feeling that she was somebody that was going to be picked. I didnt tell anybody but a lot of people felt she was going to be picked. Pete i want to dive into the core issue for conservatives it, for evangelicals or catholics, since 1973 there has been a clamoring or review, reversal of roe v. Wade. President trump right. Pete you sat down with our own Chris Wallace in 2016, if we put two or three justices on the court the overturn of roe v. Wade will happen automatically, because im putting prolife justices on the court. Would you like to see roe challenged. President trump i didnt see it to discuss this, that she might be ruling on, this is what i have told, although i would have the right to do that but if you look at her past actions, rulings, i guess she maybe would be in the category that you mentioned, i dont know. I can say this she is certainly conservative in her views and her rulings. Well have to see how that all works out. We think it will work out. Pete do you think 63 court, with three of your picks on there, mr. President , would potentially rule on a life issue, on a roe issue . President trump certainly possible. Maybe do it a different way. Maybe give it back to the states. You dont know what would happen. Ive been surprised. Ive been surprised by some of the rulings weve already had over the last year. You think you know somebody, they were you get rulings that are a little bit different than you think could happen. You never know what is going to happen. Mostly im looking for somebody that can interpret the constitution as written. We say it all the time and she is very strong on that. It will be a very interesting. Also Second Amendment. I feel like i know what she is doing on Second Amendment. I cant really speak for it. Im picking a person. She will have to rule the way she feels. The Second Amendment is unsiege. If joe biden got it, got in in any way, if he would have, because i cant imagine if that is going to happen but your Second Amendment is going to be gone and it is going to be gone quickly i think. We cant let that happen. They will probably be ruling on Second Amendment an various other things. You know, they say it is the most important thing a president can do. I dont know if that is true. I would say military. You might agree with me, military protection but they say the selection of a Supreme Court justices the most important thing. The other thing by the end of the term well have almost 300 federal judges and court of appeals judges which is a record. So we will have had a great impact on the court system going forward. Will great, great job, pete. Those questions, those questions, more importantly those answers were subtle but important. A judges job, a justices job is not to legislate. Those issues of Second Amendment or abortion, it is not for Barrett Barrett or the president to pick somebody who will enact his preferred policy choices, wait for the facts apply the law and move forward as a justice should. President trump was giving you two very good questions, very good answers, pete. Pete you could tell he was answers with an eye towards confirmation. There is no reason to get ahead of yourself. He felt like she was very well vetted. There was confidence he was exuding. This is the right pick, the right person, the right process to make it happen. I will go on the rest of interview, airing at 7 30. Ask him about his legacy, democrats to pack the court to undo that legacy. I asked about the debate prep. Were talking about debate coming up on tuesday. How is the president preparing. He gives us a little sneak on that too. Jedediah looking forward to that he makes a great point, these justices surprise you sometimes. Sometimes people get excited, this person will be in my corner. Good justices are not there to be in anyones corner. I think you might see some surprises from her as well as we should. Looking forward to the rest of that interview, pete, looking great so far. Well turn to some headlines for you now this hour. A city in texas has declared a disaster after a braineating amoeba is found in the water supply. Will that store owner was defending his business after a building he was leasing reportedly destroyed in firebomb set off by rioters that week. Here is react former nypd detective oscar odom. We have a lot to get to. I want to get to. Take a moment whether or not, whether blm is a movement of persuasion or intimidation. You have to ask yourself does that represent the movement at large. Weve seen moments where diners forced to raise their fist, owners, asked to agree with the premise. Now we see Business Owners. What is the reaction . Is this escalating movement of intimidation . Oh, definitely. That is not what it stands for. Black lives matter doesnt stand for these type of activities. It has been hijacked people doing other types of things, intimidation methods, hurting people and doing things like that. We understand frustration with certain things because certain things need to be explained more or at certain times, the public doesnt understand actually what has taken place in some of these police interactions. Therefore you have a group that will go out on the in the name of black lives matter, act like this, do different types of acts. This is not what it is about. People hijacking message. Even stated by naacp people are hijacking message, committing acts. Will that will be necessary, maybe not what the movement is about, increasingly representative of the movement. Someone will basically have to stand up against this very soon. Speaking of escalation, doctor, let me give you this, confrontation between protesters, officers, rioters, more and more injuries to officers. This year 472 cops hurt responding to riots. Almost 8,000 injuries this year. That is up almost 50 yearoveryear from 2019. More and more officers being injured. Why . What is going on . What do we need to do about this . First of all we need Political Leadership to step up and state that this will not be tolerated. Officers out there putting their lives on the line, 24 hours, seven days a week. A lot of our officers veterans who fought for the country this is the type of treatment we get. We are still out there solving murders, robberies homicide, people for their loved ones. These things are still taking place. Still at the same time, we have Police Officers being attacked. I do not see a lot of political leaders saying stop this, we dont need this were the front lines. Were protecting life and property. Will yes. It is just, it is escalating situation across this country. It is going to need to be addressed. Dr. Odom, thanks for addressing it this morning on fox friends. Thank you. Will coming up, if she is confirmed judge Amy Coney Barrett will be the first Supreme Court justice with schoolage children. If confirmed she will be the first mom of schoolage children to be on the court. We want to get your take on what that means. Does that have impact what can we expect . Obviously i look at Amy Coney Barrett, i say whats not to like . I like everything about her but it is important we have justices with diversity of experience. First mom of schoolage children. She is mother of adopted children. She is mother of a special needs children. Having that kind of relatability and experience on a moms perspective, younger moms perspective on the court i think is going to make a big difference. But Something Else is going to be happening. Over the next 30 days, make no mistake, she will be the most talked about and dissected woman in all of america. And there is going to be plenty of attacks on her religion, on her, the size of her family and on, and on her prolife stance but one thing that is going to happen that i think liberal women in particular, those from old School Feminism might not be ready for, she is introducing a new brand of feminism. One that rejects the rules own that were told to women. In order to be successful you had to delay marriage. You had to limit your childs size. You had to delay having children. She broke all of those rules and showing a different way to do, to do this as a woman, to be fulfilled and define happiness on her own terms. Will rachel, youre totally right. It was beautiful to watch all those kids. Her as a smart intellect up there in charge. Also with a loving smile towards the kids in the front row. Theyre amazing. How will they attack her for that . They will. Kind of alluded it to it. Do they run into a trap of families, average people out there looking at elections, saying you will really attack her with all she is accomplished . Right. I think it will be a difficult thing for them to do but believe me if youre been on the internet it already started but the problem is, she presents such a positive view for young women on, that you know, regardless of the attacks, it is not going to work in the long run on the bigger scheme, on trajectory for young women and what life will be like for them. It is very different. She is showing a way forward that is totally unique. She is saying, look, maybe it is not the most important decision isnt, you know what law school you go to. Maybe to pick the right husband, somebody who can be a teammate. She told her yesterday, her husband wakes up every day, what can i do to make your day better . Who doesnt want that in their life, right . So i think what she is showing is that we shouldnt hate men. Men are our partners. Men are there to help us to succeed and to do the family thing and the career thing. We can have both. It just takes a lot of organization, a lot of risktaking and a lot of faith. Will rachel, i have 1000 questions for you and Amy Coney Barrett how you do it with nine or seven children. I will have to ask you those over dinner sometimes, because im again winly curious, dont have time to do it right now. Im fascinated. Thank you, rachel. Thank you. Will still ahead, part two of petes exclusive interview with President Trump. Marsha blackburn, mike braun, Jeanine Pirro and coming up. This piece is talking to me. Yeah . So what do you see . Hour of fox Friends Weekend here with pete hegseth, will cain. Big show today. Big show always, but today in particular following the nomination of judge Amy Coney Barrett to potentially fill if confirmed that Supreme Court justice seat. Talking lots about that this hour. We also have a fantastic interview that pete conducted, an exclusive interview with President Trump following that nomination that were going to be showing you throughout the show. So big day, a lot to break down, guys. Pete thanks, jed, that is why im here at the north lawn of the white house all morning long to follow through on that interview. Also had a chance to be in the rose guarden for that ceremony with Amy Coney Barrett. It is amazing, we watch it through our tv all the time, but being there it is powerful, pageantry, it is very simple. You can lose the gravity of it, but when you think this woman will be one of nine justices making some of the biggest decisions in our country. Guys, she looked ready for it sitting there. She was steelyeyed spoke very well. Will pete, jed, one of the most formative figures in my education process is justice antonin scalia. Going to law school at the university of texas it was ability to learn what Justice Scalias philosophies, intellect and honed set of values an philosophy. Pete as you mentioned parity barrett was talking about her background as a clerk for Justice Scalia and her judicial philosophy. She compared how she approached the law to how just Justice Scalia approached the law. Listen to this. I was lucky enough to clerk for Justice Scalia. And given his incalcuable influence on my life im very moved to have members of the scalia family here today, including his dear wife maureen. I clerked for Justice Scalia more than 20 years ago but the lessons i learned still resonate. His judicial philosophy is mine too. A judge must apply the law as written. Judges are not policy makers and they must be resolute and in setting aside any policy views they might hold. Will guys, there is a temptation from many to view Supreme Court justices as supersenators, there to help insure the policy you like, get enacted. Justice scalia never did that. Justice scalia was sharp in the application of the law even if it took him into a place where he didnt like the outcome. Heartened that judge Amy Coney Barrett will enact the same philosophy. Jedediah theyre not politicians, not out on the campaign trail and their personal views on the issue should not matter. That is not always the case. Many folks on the left dont see it that way. They like activists judges. They want judges to have personal political views they inject into their decisionmaking process. That is not how it is supposed to go. Questions where these justices stand on issues is really irrelevant, really look at their rulings. Look how they have ruled. Look at their background, their experience, their expertise. That is what we should be talking about. Talk to some of the people who worked with them in the past. We did just that. We spoke with john adams, a former clerk to Coney Barrett what to expect from her earlier on fox friends. Hear what he had to say. She has an open mind, and foundational commitment either side might be right. She will assess the arguments, merits and the law. She only care what is the law requires irrespective any personal pressure or public preference. She is courageous and fair. She is also someone who holds deep humanity, humility, great sense of humor, given the tremendous responsibility and comb accomplishments. She will be a great Supreme Court justice. Pete that was resounding across the board and former students and faculty among notre dame. Not all are strict constructionists. This is highly qualified woman for this job, and it was music to my ears im of the scalia mold. Exact opposite of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. You can honor that legacy taking a massive pivot which was precisely what was done. What she knows standing on the stage, guys, you could feel it as well. This is not over. There is a big confirmation fight coming. This is the opening salvo, the announcement. We heard yesterday Lindsey Graham is planning to have the first hearings in the Senate Judiciary committee on october 12th. So 15, 16, 17 days from now, that formnal process will happen. It starts right now with everyone trying to frame it. I had a chance sitting down with the president to ask him about the appointment of judges, his work with Mitch Mcconnell, which will happen again in this process and what the legacy of all those appointments look like. This is what he said. President trump were working closely together and it has been pretty amazing. There has never been anything like it. At the end, we have 40, 50, many people in there waiting to be confirmed right now for federal judgeships, that is a big deal, federal judgeship. Dont forget president obama left us over 100, he left us over 100 because he probably thought crooked hillary was going to win. He left us a lot. We will have a record and that is a very, very important record. Again, judges and justices especially, justices of the Supreme Court and to think i would have three in one term. Pete for a president that never stops working he might be up right now. I will take a look later on. To have someone like Mitch Mcconnell in the senate who knows how to move things through, the president certainly reflected even more on that as well. Additional issues, in our interview which is coming comint 7 30. About 25 minutes from now well play the remainder of our exclusive interview with President Trump yesterday on that big Supreme Court pick. Will dont want to miss that. Coming up in about 24 minutes here on fox friends. Unless in louisville for a fourth straight night after the grand jury decision in the Breonna Taylor case. Rioters damaging cars and lighting building on fire in downtown. Bryan llenas has more. Bryan. Reporter good morning, for the fourth straight night there were hundreds of protesters in downtown louisville. The protest was peaceful up until midnight. In the end 28 people were arrested as people continue to defy the 9 00 p. M. Citywide curfew in effect at least until monday morning. According to louisville metropolitan police, this is what happened. The protesters made their way to First Unitarian Church which was refuge for protesters, people that dont want to be arrested for curfew violations a small group of protesters let that church and lit a parked car on fire. There were fireworks inside, causing small explosions because of that. There were also broken windows at Spalding University and near academy. There was graffiti on several buildings throughout downtown. This as well, there was this video that i know weve shown this morning a confrontation last night between black lives matter protesters and a Business Owner here in louisville who was armed protecting his business. In the days ago, this mans, one of this mans businesses was firebombed. He was out there protecting his business when he was grilled by these protesters. Take a listen at this confrontation. Does black lives matter . Im sorry . Does black lives matter . Cannot get real does bree on that taylor matter . [inaudible]. How many people dont have issue because i dont see color. Okay. I dont care white or black. Reporter that was sim saying i dont care about white or black. In yorba linda, california, a white vehicle plowing its way through 200 protrump protesters, out there counterpretesting a black lives matter protest happening. This was the second time in three days there was a cargoing through, you know, driving through protesters in that area. So not good there, obviously. We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the country as these protests continue. Days after the grand jury decision. Guys . Jedediah thanks so much, bryan. When you see how these protests all lead to violence. On camera, harrassment of Business Owners demanding compliance with certain ideologies. Weve seen cities on fire. Unfortunate representatives for families of the victims please dont come out and do this. This does not hold up the honor of the victim. This does not engage in powerful important meaningful conversation with between police and community. It is unhelpful. Many in the public decide to ignore that. To act out of violence anyway. Really baffling to the mind. We spoke with dr. Oscar odom, former nypd detective, how protesters hijacked the real message hire hear what he had to say. Black lives matter doesnt stand for these activities. It is hijacked by people doing other types of things, intimidation methods, doing things like that. We understand frustration with certain things because certain things need to be explained more or certain times the public doesnt understand actually what has taken place in some of these police interactions. So therefore then you will have a group that will go out on the side in the name of black lives matter and act like this and do different types to act like this is about. You have people hijacking messaging. Pete hijacked or not hijacked if we had a dollar, everyone said, admit need, cars started being lit on fire. That tears down the legitimacy of the argument, jed. You mentioned families saying we dont want to see violence. That is good. The lawyer comes up and mischaracterizes the case to say, that is not what it is about either. That is how the support for these type of things drop rapidly. Will i have a simple question, right now to this point, it is not months old movement, years old movement, how does black lives matter made black lives better . Very simple question. As communities burned down, businesses burned down, how has it improved lives of black americans to this point . Is it policy of defund the police . Is it to reform the police . Is it first win elections . Is that how you win elections . Tell me sofar how this made black lives better. I would like the question to that, jedediah. Jedediah great point. You should look at policy, economic policy, Charter Schools and education and school choice. That should be the conversation being had. Instead what is being had covering this ridiculous nonsensical horrific violence that is erupting in the name of honoring lives lost which does nothing to honor them. Pete marchers take over, start taking advantage of it, all of that is mute, that is the problem. Jedediah yeah. Were going to turn to some headlines now beginning with a fox news alert. A Los Angeles Police officer is in the hospital after he was attacked inside of his own station. Police say the violence broke out after the suspect walked into the station and began arguing with the officer. The suspect then grabbed the officers gun, beat him with it, and fired multiple rounds. The officer was not shot. The suspect was arrested after a chase and another fight with officers leaving one with minor injuries. Both officers will be okay. And today a federal judge will decide whether President Trumps ban on tiktok can go into effect. The apps owner, bytedance has asked the court to block the ban arguing it violates free speech protections. The president called the app a National Security risk, accusing bytedance giving user data to the chinese government. If the ban is in effect the app will be pulled tonight. A customer left a worker in tears. Oh. Jedediah army private felipe surprised his mother in North Carolina. She jumped into his arms and started crying. Deployed for the last 13 months in kuwait. She had no idea he was coming home. Those are stories i love to see. They bring tears to my eyes every single time, will. Every single time. Pete welldone, private. Welldone. Will two democrats on the Senate Judiciary committee saying they will not meet with judge Amy Coney Barrett. Is that the right move . Well ask former chair of the dnc next its official National Coffee day is now National Dunkin day celebrate with a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on september 29th. I will take the opportunity to question her when she is under oath. We may not be able to stop it. We can slow it down. The American People need to know what is at stake. Jedediah democratic senator mazie hirono will not be meeting Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett and she is not alone. Fellow Judiciary Committee member senator blumenthal saying i will refuse to treat this process as legitimate and will not meet with Amy Coney Barrett. As the battle heats up, he argues that the confirmation must wait until the president ial nomination. Scott bolden is former chair of the dnc Democratic Party. To explain. Why does it have to wait until after the inauguration . With 37 days out one. Secondly Mitch Mcconnell cant have it both ways. Snacks of hypocrisy when you deny Merrick Garland, or a meeting as well. Because it is 2020, because were 37 days out, then the senate and the president of the same party, somehow that makes a difference. As i said it smacks of hypocrisy. The democrats are really, really mad, upset about it. It is pure partisanship piece on Mitch Mcconnell and real problem for the country. Jedediah scott, i want to take, i want to take Merrick Garland out of it, i believe he should have been you cant take Merrick Garland out of it. That is the basis. Jedediah cot i want to take him out for a second. I want to look at properprocedure, ask you is it not the jobe of a president when there is vacancy to nominate some one of that seat, is it not the job of the senate to vote on it . If it is not to process, you feel Merrick Garland denied that process, isnt the same process to be upheld right now . You know, you cannot, you cannot compare one with the other without going back to Mitch Mcconnell. He set the new standard and the democrats disagreed with it and rejected it. Now he is saying jedediah that is, so that is Mitch Mcconnell playing politics. That is pure politics. Republicans are stacking the court inappropriately. Jedediah scott this is not about Mitch Mcconnell. We can argue forever about whether Mitch Mcconnell made the right decision last time. We may be in agreement he did not. Regardless were in this moment today. There is vacancy. If procedure were followed properly would Amy Coney Barrett be heard, would she get a confirmation hearing potentially be approved. If Mitch Mcconnell is the Senate Majority leader of course she will get it. If the roles were reversed right, if the democrats were in control, then Mitch Mcconnell certainly would not give a democratic, not if the democrats were in control, if the roles were reversed just like Merrick Garland in 2020, Mitch Mcconnell would not get a hearing, would not give Merrick Garland a hearing on it. It is just pure politics. The narrative is driven by the republicans and Mitch Mcconnell. Jedediah essentially scott, youre saying that because it was handled improperly in your opinion last time, it should be improperly handled this time. I will counter it was improperly handled last time. Do it right this time. Lets have her voice heard. We elect people, do we not. Let them vote on it, scott if people in the senate dont like her, dont think she is o mall, they can vote no. But theyre not going to vote no, because the majority are gop senators one. Secondly, they will stack, too appetizing for the gop not to stack the court with this opportunity. Jedediah scott, we have, we have to wrap for today, thank you so much for your insight and well talk about this some more. We kids love me. Im what they dream of. Im a horse, but cuter. Im a horse, but magical. Pizza on a bagelwe can all agree with that. Youre like a party rental. Jedediah time for the news by the numbers. First 200,000. Thats how much donation money a black lives matter activist is accused of spending on himself. The fbi says major page used to money to buy several things, including food, clothes and a house. He is facing fraud and Money Laundering charges. Next, 47 . That is how Many Americans are already shopping for the holidays. Why . Because they are bored. A new study half of americans are getting a holiday head start because they have more down time working from home during the pandemic. Finally one week. That is how much longer tampa bay bucs fans will have to wait to see tom brady in person. The team announcing a limited number of fans will be allowed at against starting with the match up against the chargers. Will . Will thank you, jedediah. Impeding on religious freedom with socalled doctor cronian coronavirus rules. The letter reading, no Scientific Study permitting a 20,000 square foot sin going allowing one person, while a Tattoo Parlor can admit as many as they want. Mike thanks for being here this morning. The dojs letter certainly lays out, makes it plainly clear, you have seemingly one set of rules for businesses and another for houses of worship. How does San Francisco justify this. Forget about even just businesses, black translives matter protest and tens of thousands of people and you cant open up a church. This happens when you elect at best secular leaders dont understand the importance of church and maybe at worst in San Francisco, people who are antagonistic towards christianity and have no problem shutting down churches taking the opportunity to do it. Back in the 1600s with real plagues, half the town died they would do Everything Possible to shut down Everything Else but you keep the church open. Let the churches, spiritual eternal significance, of course you keep the church open. Here it is the first thing that gets shut down in california. You keep Tattoo Parlors open. Will mike, im genuinely curious about that inconsistency, regardless of lethality of coronavirus, it would seem would be consistent between as you point out businesses and protests, houses of worship. Why seemingly two sets of rules . I think in San Francisco, particular, people are antagonistic towards religion, right . Theyre taking this opportunity to shut it down. Think about where we are in california. 1 100th of 1 of californians get covid. 1 100th of one percent. San francisco county, 60 new case as day in county out of million people. No reason to shut down churches, the City Attorney announced low infection numbers saying quote, we must be doing something right. I want to ask you about Something Else, mike. San francisco also in the middle of news, seeing 100 increase in burglaries during the pandemic. Take a look at this here. 373 breakins in 2020. 186 breakins a year ago this is when everybody is at home. This is stay at home orders. People are at home, burglaries are going up. What is up in San Francisco . This is what you vote for. Chester bow dean is the d. A. Of San Francisco. Dont have time to go into the bio. He is far most radical left in entire country. Maybe they are like the San Francisco city council is the same. Before he went to law school he traveled to venezuela to work directly with hugo chavez. Crime through the roof, homelessness is out of control, double down on these policies, elect this guy. Think how emboldened people must be these burglars to go into the homes when they know people are there, they know theyre not going to get in trouble. They know the people of San Francisco will not protect themselves. Friendly reminder everyone, across the country, especially in the cities, you are on your own to protect yourself, in a car, black lives matter rally surrounds your car or Business Owner, Police Department saying youre on your own, sorry Business Owners, living in your own house, you are on your own to protect yourself. Will seems as though San Francisco is not an outlier, rather than a model. Thank you appreciate your time. Thank you, brother. Will President Trump says the lefts attacks against Justice Brett kavanaugh could help Amy Coney Barrett. President trump in a way Justice Kavanaugh was a pioneer. What he went through was so horrible. I think it makes it easier for amy. I think they cant do that again. Will part two of petes exclusive sitdown interview with the president next. Will with all the tension in washington President Trump is has words of wisdom for judge barrett ahead of what is expected to be a contentious confirmation process. Pete guys, im here at the white house this morning, yesterday i had a chance to sit down exclusively with President Trump for his first interview since the nomination. Here is the second part. When you consider what youve been through these last 3 1 2 years. Youre a tough guy. You have thick skin. People have been coming at you. What is your advice to someone like Amy Coney Barrett about to go through this . President trump such a great question. You cant answer it but i do believe that in a way Justice Kavanaugh was a pioneer. What he went through was so horrible. False accusations. He is such a gentleman the way he handled it. Nobody was i dont think i have ever seen anybody for any position be treated the way he was treated, so viciously by harris and all of them. The way they spoke to this man was so horrible and i actually think it makes it easier for amy. I think they cannot do that again. They can never get away with it. Nobody has ever been treated so badly as Justice Kavanaugh. Judge kavanaugh. I will say this, judge gorsuch at the time, judge gorsuch, he was treated pretty tough, got through it, strongly, he did a great job but the way judge kavanaugh was treated was, i have never seen, i have never seen anything like it. Ive seen some bad treatment. Ive never seen anything like that. I think that makes it a lot easier for amy. Pete do you think they can resist it, mr. President. Lets say the resume holds up, there is no obvious attack, the left says ends justify the means, personal destruction is justified to pursue political power. Could they resist and hold back. Is that even possible . President trump i dont know if they can hold back. They dont look good if they go crazy again. What they did was crazy. You know, we had a couple of people that werent real fighters on our side. And theyre gone. Theyre gone. Wonder where they went but theyre no longer with us. And, and that is a good thing. I think we have great the Republican Party is very united in this. Lindsey graham, everyone of them. Theyre tremendous, mitch. We speak all the time. Pete did you think Mitch Mcconnell would, play this big of a role in cementing your legacy, three big justices . President trump we work very closely together. It has been pretty amazing. We have, there has never been anything like it. If you think again, by the end, we have 40, 50, we have many people in there waiting to be confirmed right now. For federal judgeships. That is a big deal a federal judgeship. Dont forget president obama left us over 100. Its unheard of. He left us over 100, because he probably thought that crooked hillary was going to win and, you know, in which case it wouldnt have mattered too much. I guess that is what he assumed. He left us a lot. We will have a record. That is a, very important record. Again, judges and justices specially justices of the Supreme Court and to think that i would have three in one term. Pete democrats are threatening to pack the court that is the fastest way to undo the issue. How would you take that on . President trump only thing they would have to do win the presidency, win the senate. I think were doing really well. There is a great hidden majority, i call it hidden, you can call it a silent majority, it is not really silent. You see rallies, people showed up at virginia, were looking at virginia very strongly. We think virginia is in play. You saw people showed up, we had 35,000 people show up at an airport on a short notice. We think there is a lot of things going on out there, much more so than even four years ago. Four years ago, you saw it early, pete, four years ago we had tremendous enthusiasm, it is much more now. It is much more this year. Pete confirmation hearing scheduled october 12th. Do you anticipate to have her confirmed before the election . President trump i would like to. I would say we have plenty of time, in case your next question would be, should you wait . They wouldnt wait, number one, importantly, we have a lot of time. We also could go after, we have tremendous amount of time. It has been done many times before this. Election year. No, i think well have it done easily before the election. I think it would be nice to do, get it out of the way. It so important an a decision. Well try to have it done quickly and before the election but think of all the time. So then you have from that date, you have all the way to january 20th. So, i mean, who would not do this . They say why dont you wait for the next . Elections have consequences. We won the election. We have the senate. We have the presidency. So i think, i think she will be confirmed before and probably long before the election, relatively long before the election. Pete the debate is coming up. Everyone will be watching. How are you preparing specifically . President trump i think i prepare every day. When youre president you sort of see everything that theyre going to be asking. They may disagree with but weve done a great job. We created the greatest economy in history. Never been from employment standpoint, from every standpoint. Now it is coming back. We closed it. We saved millions and millions of lives doing what i did. And now were bringing it back. Its a v, it is a vshape. It is maxed out. Unemployment and Everything Else. Even the stock market. Look how high the stock market is. Were rounding the turn. They hate when i say that the opposition, were rounding the turn on the, on the pandemic and very incredibly we have some of the great vaccines, Great Companies and were going to have different vaccines, very powerful vaccines, great vaccines and therapeutics. This is all happening very, very soon. So were in great shape but we built the greatest economy in history and now were doing it again. Were doing it rapidly and i think next year well have a great Third Quarter, by the way. And next year i think it is going to be one of the greatest years weve ever had on the economy. It is really very exciting actually. Pete mr. President , thank you so much for being here on fox friends. Congratulations on a very historic day. President trump thank you very much. Pete guys, it truly was an honor. We were off of the oval office in a private garden there. You could feel the gravity of the day. So many things happening all at once. We talked about the process for Barrett Barrett but that last question, would have loved to have three or four follow ups. A roundtable approach. There is definitely preparation going on. Not traditional setting up a stage, formal moderator. That is what joe is doing with the lid on his campaign, i dont know. Jedediah you ask him about the debate prep. What im thinking of, typically joe biden would do someone standing in as President Trump and having his mannerisms down. I dont think President Trump is doing any of that i think he doesnt, i think he relies on his spontaneity, that is strength not sounding rehearsed, not sounding like somebody who went through conventional debate prep. I dont know. I think that might be actually a good choice on his end to be perfectly honest. Will tell you what, pete, great job. What stuck out to me very quickly, ties into the debate jedediah had about earlier, inconsistency, perceived hypocrisy four years ago. The president put it succinctlily. You didnt control the senate four years ago. Now the white house controls the president and senate. That is why it is different than four years ago. Pete go to Rick Reichmuth with weather across the country. Whats up, rick . Rick pete is standing outside the white house with comfortable clothing. Is that good . Pete delitful temperature, rick. Thank you for dialing it up. Rick feels like fall a little bit. But it will not last much longer. Feels very cool across the Northern Rockies and inner mountain west. We have really dry conditions. A great day today. Well see showers form across parts of arkansas, in towards missouri. This front will sag down. Big showers overnight across parts of minnesota, parts of minnesota, northern wisconsin, that will be out of here. Well watch really cooling temperatures eventually. Watch what happens here. Really warm across parts of the south today. Still into texas. Colder air starting to move in. Want to quickly get towards the day on thursday. You start to watch these blues begin to get in there. That will be the first batch of really cold fall air. Well talk about some snow next weekend across parts of the great lakes. Really cool air will settle in across parts of the east. Guys, send it back to you. Jedediah thanks so much, rick. We are two days away from the first president ial debate. With debate prep looking very different for both candidates. Were live in cleveland with a preview coming up next. Im norm. Im szasz. [norm] and we live in columbia, missouri. We do consulting, but we also write. [szasz] we take care of ourselves constantly; its important. We walk three to five times a week, a couple miles at a time. Weve both been taking prevagen for a little more than 11 years now. Jedediah we are just two days away from the first president ial debate hosted by our very own Chris Wallace. President trump and joe biden preparing in very different ways before hitting the stage on tuesday. Griff jenkins is live in cleveland with more on the political showdown. Griff . Reporter different ways indeed, will, pete, good morning. Im here on the Case Western Reserve University campus where things are getting set but this will look very different from any debate you have ever seen. First of all the biggest difference, the beginning, there will be no predebate handshake between trump and biden. Candidates are socially distanced, not wearing masks. The biggest difference for those of us covered these things, there is no spin room afterwards. That will be something. Chris wallace will do it. 90 minutes long. No commercial breaks. Six 15 minute segments. Trump and biden, Supreme Court, coronavirus, race and violence in america, integrity of election. Both candidates taking a different path. The president had a rally last night. He talked to you, pete, giving you yesterday some insight into his preparation. Listen. President trump prepare every day. I think when youre president you sort of see everything that theyre going to be asking. They may disagree with you, but weve done a great job. Reporter biden on the other hand keeping a very low profile reportedly preparing with a coach. He emerged yesterday to take a hard shot at President Trump. My guess is it will be just straight attack. They will be mostly personal. That is the whole thing he knows how to do. He doesnt know how to the debate the facts. He is not that smart. Reporter yesterday, tim murtagh of the Trump Campaign told me not taking biden lightly. Theyre preparing for the best biden we can see. Murtagh actually calling him a quote, master debater who has experience at these things. He emerged from 11 debates in the democratic primary, becoming the ultimate victor. Im curious pete, if you got insight when you were with the president as to how much of a threat they consider biden on tuesday night . Pete some of that, that was some of the conversation being had on the sidelines, griff, what approach will joe biden. Go right at him or not . Theyre anticipating multiple different types of strategies but i think theyre expecting joe to come out trying to punch. Griff, real quick. I heard audience is limited to 80. Can you firm that is the largest audience biden has spoken to this year . Reporter they havent confirmed that pete. It will definitely be a much smaller audience indeed. Some of the local affiliates reporting it could be anywhere from 80 to 100. I think the commission on president ial debates is waiting to make that determination based on the guidance theyre getting here, what the ultimate end set looks like. As we speak now theyre still doing the final preparations, getting it ready. The audience will be very limited. It will look as i said quite different from the ones you have seen in the past. In particular if its a smaller audience. It will be smaller applause lines. Pete thanks, griff. Jedediah President Trump officially nominating judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court yesterday and given the attack on judge barretts faith, our next guest who has known judge barrett all of her life is speaking out. In a new oped for foxnews. Com, she writes, as a lifelong friend and meant to are judge barrett continues to demonstrate to me one can live their faith and defend their country. Maggie garnett joins us now. Great to have you here on this historic day as we talk about judge barrett and what is likely to come. Tell us a little bit you and your familys relationship with judge barrett. Of course. So good to be with you. So my mother and mrs. Barrett clerked together on the Supreme Court. My mom was in Justice Thomas chambers. Of course judge barrett was in Justice Scalia leahs. After that my mom joined the faculty at Notre Dame Law School mrs. Barrett joined thereafter. We have been friend and neighbors all our life. Siblings match up and we spent much of our life together. Jedediah judge barretts faith has been brought up, many on the left and social media are criticizing that. What do you see as those that see her faith is a problem and worry her faith will play too strongly a role in her rulings . Far from being something to criticize i think judge barretts faith is an inspiration to us all. It shows how ones commitment can be guided by love of god and love the country to serve other people and serve our american institutions. I think you will see that judge barretts faith informs her humility and informs her courage and allow her to be an incredible Supreme Court justice. Jedediah speak to her character as well. One thing that will happen, the process will be tough. It will not be easy. Her family will be likely targeted by some. A lot of personal attacks thrown her way. Is she prepared for this . What about her character would make her prepare for Something Like this . If anyone can handle confirmation hearing with grace and poise i think it is mrs. Barrett. We saw that in 2017 as sheehan delled the Senate Judiciary committee then. I think well see it again. As she said she recognizes that the role of a judge is one that calls for both humility and courage and i think she will bring that ive seen her juggling so much as a mother of seven and as a law professor. I think you will see that she has what it takes to handle this with grace and with confidence. Jedediah maggie, thank you so much for joining us. From what ive seen of judge barrett im very impressed with both her record and presentation. Looking forward to hear more from her. Grateful to hear from someone with your perspective who knowser personally. Thank you so much. Still ahead this morning senator Marsha Blackburn and mike braun and judge Jeanine Pirro and batter batter are all here live coming up. Hope, it is the light in all of us that cannot be extinguished. They built it on freedom and trying to keep it free. Here honored here to be with you as we are every weekend on fox friends on this sunday morning. Welcome. Im here live from the north lawn of the white house. And will and jed, guys, i like it its a nice view here. I think a bucket list for the second term would be three stools right out here on the road, fox friends live from the white house. What do you say, will . Will sold. Done. Im on the train right after this show. Pete its on the list. Will ill be on the train right after the show to join you. Hey, i would say this, though. You know, we built this country on freedom. They built that city on politics and bureaucracies. Pete i was going to say on government largesse but i went with freedom, youre right. Will yeah, the country is built on freedom. Jedediah yeah. Pete youve had a great chance to interview the president on his Supreme Court nominee choice judge Amy Coney Barrett. Well be talking about that all morning and your interview as well. President trump officially, as we said, nominating judge Amy Coney Barrett yesterday to the Supreme Court. Judge barretts confirmation hearings are set to start next month. Jennifer griffin is live outside the Supreme Court as democrats begin to launch attacks against the president s pick. Jennifer, whats the latest . Well, jed, as you mentioned the Senate Judiciary committee has set october 12th for the start of those confirmation hearings with a vote expected just days before the election for the 115th Supreme Court justice. President trumps nominee for the position, Amy Coney Barrett, spoke from the white house yesterday and paid tribute to Ruth Bader Ginsburg, her ideological opposite, but also recognized this will be a fight. I have no illusions that the road ahead of me will be easy either for the short term or the long haul. I never imagined that i would find myself in this position. But now that i am, i assure you that i will meet the challenge with both humility and courage. One week from monday is the start of the next court session. Among the first cases they expect to hear virtually concerns the future of the Affordable Care act, aspects of which barrett has written she believes are unconstitutional. Democrats are already preparing to attack barrett on being had. Joe biden wrote, vote like your health care is on the ballot, because it is. Kamala harris saying, this selection would move the court further right for a generation and harm millions of americans. And Chuck Schumer saying barrett would pose a real threat to americans in their lives. Barrett graduated first in her Law School Class from notre dame dame. Her confirming would typically ideological scales of the court, six conservatives to three liberals. She would join five other catholics already on the court. She is an originalist and textualist in the tradition of antonin scalia, a devout catholic and prolife. 27 years ago Justice Ginsburg was confirmed by a vote of 963. It wont be so easy for judge barrett. Back to. Ou jedediah thanks so much, jennifer. And, you know, we should all be originalists. That is the idea here; right . I dont really the politicization of the court just baffles me beyond belief that now being originalist is referred to as the conservative way of thought. We should all be originalists. Thats the whole point. And, you know, democrats have come back when it comes to barrett is very qualified for this, no question. Her resume is extensive. Shes very, very impressive. Her faith has already begun to be attacked. Of course her rulings on health care will be front and center. Democrats are also coming out in some cases and saying, listen. We dont have enough time here and theyre pointing the finger at Mitch Mcconnell and saying Mitch Mcconnell didnt play fair last time and as a result we shouldnt play fair this time. I spoke with scott boldin, former chairman of the d. C. Democratic party earlier who slammed mcconnell. Mitch mcconnell cant have it both ways. It smacks of hypocrisy when you deny Merrick Garland a hearing nor even a meeting as well and then because its 2020 and because were 37 days out, then the senate and the president of the same party, that somehow that makes a difference. As i said it smacks of hypocrisy and the democrats are really, really mad and upset about it. And it is a pure partisanship piece on Mitch Mcconnell and a real problem for the country. Pete you know, guys, as the president said to me yesterday during the interview, elections have consequences. And a friend of the show sent me a text reminding me that quote in its more modern form originated from barack obama, and he said to paul ryan, not just that, he said, elections have consequences. We won. You lost. Get over it. That was barack obama. And i think the idea that here we are in september and october, if you hold the senate and you can make the nomination like the president did in the rose garden yesterday, youve got the votes, youre going to have Supreme Court justice. But, guys, when i had the chance to sit down with the president with the pick announced, i tried to get right to the heart of it, because why will there be so much vitriol on this pick . Because it really does change the balance of the court. Youre replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a liberal activist on the court with a more conservative originalist, textualist, as you mentioned, jed. The issue at play, a number 1 the issue of roe vs. Wade, abortion, right to life in this country. I asked the president , is that at stake here . Listen. Trump i didnt think it was for me to discuss that with her because its something shes going to be ruling on and this is what i was told, although i would have the right to do that. But if you look at her past actions and rulings, i guess she maybe would be in the category that you mentioned. Pete do you think a 63 court with three of your picks on there, mr. President , would potentially rule on a life issue on a roe issue . Trump its certainly possible. Maybe they do it in a different way, maybe they give it back to the states. Shes going to have to rule the way she feels. But the Second Amendment is under siege if joe biden got it. Got in in any way. If he would have cause i cant imagine thats going to happen. Pete again, guys, the president being careful. This is about a confirmation; so youre not going to get ahead of yourself. But i did go back to something he said to Chris Wallace in 2016 that if we put two or three more justices on the court, it will happen automatically cause im putting prolife justices on the court. That is going to raise the stakes for everybody 37 and, guys, on this program youre going to hear more of this interview with President Trump coming up at 8 30; so in about 25 minutes. Dont turn the d. Al will were starting to see the democrats response, their arguments against Amy Coney Barrett line up. Theyre falling into four categories as far as i can see. Theyre addressing health care and roe vs. Wade as if there would be a massive roll back in those two rolls. What i would say to that theyll be making some of the same arguments theyve made for roe vs. Wade for 30 years and they political an apocalypse has not come. What i would say also is the more aggressive among the democrats are going to be making the religious argument we talked about for a week or so. But there is another deeper, and more extreme, but i would say no less influential movement within the Democratic Party led by people like author ibrim kindi, the author of the very bestselling book how to be an antiracist, starting to question Amy Coney Barretts adoption of two children from haiti and success that is a performive act. This fight could end up very ugly and very revealing about the kind of people on the other side of the attacks of Amy Coney Barrett. By the way, that type of heightened rhetoric, its not on the exact same topic, but in the exact same type of tone. We start to hear from a guy like joe biden as well who compared donald trump to a famous nazi. Listen to this from msnbc. The president does spend a lot of time talking. One of the things he says over and over is that you will push a socialist agenda. Youve said it very clearly. You are not a socially and actually have a record to prove that youre not. But what the president does, he says you are, he says it twice as often and twice as loud. How do you combat that lie when he keeps pushing it and some voters start to believe it . Well, im not sure anybody hadnt already made up their mind theyre for trump, but who knows. Hes liable goebbels. You say the lie long enough, keep repeating it, repeating it, repeating it, it becomes common knowledge. Jedediah so this is crazy what you just said. But its also very indicative of what theyre afraid of when it comes to joe biden. This is why hes rehearsed all the time and why his debate prep is probably extensive because he says crazy stuff like that. I mean, thats just nuts. No one in the center is going to listen to that and say, oh, yeah you know what . Im going to go out and joe for joe biden. No, he sounds crazy. That is a perfect example of why he has been kept back, why theyre following this less is more, theyre not letting him to speak to press extensively, its because of comments like that. And im curious to see how the debate plays out in light of that and whether hell, you know be unfiltered and youll hear comments like that or whether he will just go with rehearsed talking points. Pete hey, as mike tyson said everybodys got a plan until theyre punched in the mouth. They can rehearse all they want but when you get onto that debate stage and the challenges start coming is he deft enough to adapt. If you accuse someone of being a nazi, youre already losing the argument. Ive got big news. Joe biden will be leaving he might be doing it from his basement but the lid is not on yet. Hell be doing a press conference at 12 15 today about the president s Supreme Court pick. I will note seven of the last 14 days, yesterday i looked at that stat he has put a lid on his campaign. Hes running a 50 on campaign 30 days from the election. Shocking. Will no lid on tuesday night. No. Pete maybe. Who knows. Will i guess theres stim time. Pete never know until theyre there. Will turning now toyour headlines a Los Angeles Police officer is in the hospital after he was attacked inside his own station. Police say the violence broke out after the suspect walked in the station and began arguing with the officer. The suspect then grabbed the officers gun, beat him with it and fired multiple rounds. The officer was not shot. The suspect was arrested after a chase and another fight with officers, leaving one with minor injuries. Both officers will be okay. Unrest in louisville for a fourth straight night after the grand jury decision in the Breonna Taylor case. Police release be this video of rioters lighting a car on fire outside a church. An arson investigation is underway. Rioters smashing windows and damaging buildings in the citys downtown area. And in california, two people are hurt after a woman drives her car through a crowd of protesters. [shouting] will that appears to be a group of trump supporters. You can see the American Flag and the trump flag there. That woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. And overnight in portland protesters were seen burning the American Flag. And finally an Army Football lineman put his head in the game a little too much. Senior lineman mike johnson head butted his coach. He still had his helmet on. Johnson nearly him out with the head butt as they celebrated their first down. Just a first down . Against cincinnati. Its unclear if the coach was checked for concussion. Cincinatti went on to win 2410. Those are your headlines. Pete sometimes those first downs are huge, man. I mean, come on. Will i mean, it wasnt even a touchdown. A first down. Pete jed, whats a first down . Will not something you head butt for. Jedediah no, listen, all i know listen, all i know is that, will, your entire twitter feed looks like its in another language. Thats all im going to say there. I struggle to try to figure out even the simplest of terms. Pete first down. There we go. All right. The first president ial debate moderated by our own Chris Wallace just two days away. Fill even ryan helped Hillary Clinton claire in 2016. Maybe she should have asked for a doover on that. Jedediah the first president ial debate hosted by our own Chris Wallace is this tuesday. So what can we expect from President Trump . Our next guest played the president during mock debates with then candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016. Her former Senior Adviser and former Deputy Assistant secretary of state fill peep rin rinus joins us with a preview. Philippe thats an incredible fun opportunity to play the what did you learn from it, about President Trumps debate style . Well, it was the hardest thing i ever did and as one good friend put it, its something that i had been practicing for my whole life, just didnt know it. That was a compliment but it was helpful in the moment. It was difficult that wasnt a compliment but it was difficult in the moment. [audio difficulties] aaccustomed to the at the time. Everyone was so getting used to it in terms of seeing it on stage with his opponents, first with the republican primaries and then with hillary. You know, its the ability to not talking about what is being asked about, the digression, the non sequiturs. Its really who we see every day at the white house talking to the media or, frankly, in interviews, including on fox, including to Chris Wallace. And that gets very difficult to do because, you know, you get trained over life to kind of answer people when they ask you a question, you know, you just asked me something and i didnt start going off about my Favorite Television show. Jedediah yeah. Hes very spontaneous. And hes not a rehearsed politician. Hes also not your typical politician who probably, you know, does those typical debate style mock debates to prepare. I doubt hes doing those. Are you concerned at all, though about joe biden and the lack of time he spent over this campaign answering tough questions . Do you feel that hell be prepared for a debate with a president whos done a lot of rallies, whos been front and center engaging with people and with challenging media, for that matter, for several months now, for actually several years, but intensified for several months . I know i supposed to play the expectations game, but you know what . Im pretty confident in joe bidens abilities. And, you know, this idea of not talking to press, lets set that aside about whether or not its true or fair. You know, President Trump has said i think on fox friends about a week and a half ago that his debating practice is in fact talking to the press. And i dont see that as comparable. First of all, he only does it when he wants to. He does it he speaks about what he wants to. He speaks as long as he wants it it. He calls on whom he wants. He ends it when he wants to. Thats not a debate, especially with Chris Wallace, whos going to run a pretty tight ship. So, you know, something thats very different about four years ago is that what was very tough about donald trump and what hillary realized, too, she never thought he was easy was that within the kind of word salad he was very laser focused on trade, health care, the swamp and immigration. And no matter how odd it was sounding, he banged on it over and over again. Now every time he has a camera in front of him you cant help but list and go through his grievances. And thats not message. And, you know what . President trump needs these debates far more than joe biden does. By their own polls, its not going well for him. Jedediah philippe, i would disagree in one respect. I agree with you if you care about polls and you watch the polls, hes got to Pay Attention about right now, but, you know, his debate style, he often talks to the issues that he thinks people are focused on; so he manages to get that focus. Listen, he won last time around. He did something rate. We have to acknowledge that so well see how it goes this time but i think it will be a fascinating debate and fantastic Television One way or the other. Thank you so much. Which is the most important thing for presid. Nt jedediah and im envious of the role you got to play a mock debate . That sounds like a blast. It was difficult, but it was fun. Jedediah yeah. The senate gearing up for a bitter confirmation battle over judge Amy Coney Barrett. Senators Marsha Blackburne and mike braun join us live with their expectations. Thats next. At aspen dental, were making it alright to feel safe and get smiling. We promise. Call 1800aspendental. Will democrats wasting no time launching their attacks against Amy Coney Barrett as the president officially nominates her to the Supreme Court. So what are senators expecting as the battle heats up . Lets ask two of them, tennessee g. O. P. Senator and author of the mind of a conservative woman Marsha Blackburne along with g. O. P. Senator mike braun. Senators, thanks so much for being here. Senator braun, lets start with you. Lets talk about what the fight might be . Do you already have the votes . It seems you already have the votes to confirm her; so what could democrats do to stop the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett . So i think the votes are there. We kind of got that all clear about a week ago. So the attack their going to take will be the ones that they kind of used i think in the kavanaugh hearings. And for me, that was so real in the sense that my race and josh hawleys in missouri were the two that were close going into the kavanaugh hearings. All i can tell you is we ended up winning by about six points each. So i think democrats beware. When you take someone like Amy Coney Barrett, whos got a record personally and judicially i think its going to be a tough sell to use those same tactics that you had during the kavanaugh hearings. So here theyre going to focus, in my opinion, on what might happen policywise with her point of view. And i think thats tricky as well because of how much credibility she has in terms of her judicial acuity and her opinions over time. So i think its similar in the sense of the political risks in the approaches they take, but i think youre dealing with a situation with amy thats going to make it much tougher for them to pull the same shenanigans they did two years ago. Will senator blackburne, although shows over over in the house, Speaker Pelosi said there are arrows in the quiver of the democrat party. Lets walk through a few of those arrows if we wanted. First of all, two of your fellow senators on the judiciary concern, Richard Blumenthal and mazie hirono said they wont meet with Amy Coney Barrett. Will that do anything to stop her confirmation . No it will not. And i think it is very petty of them not to even open the door and sit down and have a conversation. But, will, this is how the left treats conservative women. And we know that going to try to demonize judge barrett. We know that they are going to try to say that she is out of the mainstream because that is the type thing that they do. But we are going to begin our hearings. We will start at Judiciary Committee with our Opening Statements. We will follow it with testimony and questions on 30minute rounds and then 20minute rounds rounds. We will hear from outside groups groups. We will vote her out of committee. And then we intend to be on the floor with her nomination. They will not slow us down. Will well, when we have a little more time, senators, id love to ask you both what their response and then your response might be to some of the more extreme measures theyve talked about like initiating the impeachment of the president or packing the court. We will have time to discuss those as well. Senators, thanks so much off of your time today. Thank you. Youre welcome. Will still ahead, pete hegseth speaking exclusively with President Trump in his first interview since he made his Supreme Court nomination of Amy Coney Barrett. Trump mostly im looking for somebody that can interpret the constitution as written. We say it all the time. And she is very strong on that. Will more on the president s Selection Process next. Taking care of business every day taking care of business every way ive been taking care of business. Will historic day in washington as President Trump announces his third nominee to the Supreme Court. Jedediah judge Amy Coney Barrett accepting the nomination to fill late justice Ruth Bader Ginsburgs vacancy. Pete im here at the north lawn of the white house and yesterday you could feel the gravity of the moment. And i had a chance to sit down exclusive with President Trump in his first interview since appointing judge barrett. Watch. Pete the pick is in and the third pick of your presidency is Amy Coney Barrett. How did you come to this pick, mr. President . Trump so we have a list of about 45 people, and it was set up over a period of time, a long period of time in conjunction with a lot of other people that are very talented, conservative, but very talented people. And it was definitely a time for a woman. And so i had i broke it down into five women. And this is a person who is just outstanding. A great student, a great scholar scholar. Her professor, one of the most notable and actually probably one of the most respected in notre dame, said that amy was the best student that he ever had. He was there for many years. The best student. So that meant something cause academics means something to me. And im just i think its going to be really thrilling. I hope it goes smoothly. Perhaps it will. Perhaps it wont. I think its going to be very hard to dispute her qualifications or anything about her. Pete when did you know, mr. President . Theres been speculation about her name, reports a year ago that you may have been saving her for a ginsburg opening. When it was Crystal Clear in your mind . Trump well, ive been very happy that the two people we put on you know, its a very proud moment for a president to make choices. And if you look at Justice Gorsuch or Justice Kavanaugh, theyve been, you know, just outstanding people, outstanding men. And it was time for a woman. I think i knew i mean, there was thought of it last time, but i thought that at that time judge kavanaugh who was judge, was just very outstanding. And i just felt that this was the right time. I did consider her at that time. But when this happened with Justice Ginsburg, when this happened, this just seemed like a natural fit. Pete there are reports youve spoken with her multiple times, met with her here at the white house. What did you talk about, mr. President . Did you talk about any specific cases . Trump no, specifically i didnt do that because in theory its nicer if you dont. You can talk about anything you want, but i just really got to know her a little bit, a little bit last time. And when this was happening in the process of happening, i called her and i said, id like to have you come down. And just worked out very quickly and very well. I didnt discuss certain concepts and certain things. Some people say you shouldnt; i dont see any reason why you shouldnt, but i decided not to do it. And i think it gives her freedom to do what she has to do. She has to make rulings. I think shes going to make a lot of people very proud. Theres also, there has been, i noticed, theres a tremendous clamoring for her. The public really ive been sighing it were all human, and ive been seeing it. There was a tremendous feeling that she was somebody that was going to be big. I didnt tell anybody, but a lot of people felt she was going to be big. Pete want to dive right into the core issue for conservatives evangelicals, for catholics since theres been a clamoring for a review and a reversal of roe vs. Wade. Trump right. Pete you sat down with our own Chris Wallace in 2017, mr. President , and said if we put another two or three justices on the court, the overturn of roe vs. Wade will happen automatically in my opinion because im putting prolife justices on the court. Would you like to see roe challenged and overturned . I think it it was for me to discuss that whether because thats something shes going to be ruling on, and this is going to be what i was told although i would have the right to do that but if you look at her past actions and rulings, i guess she maybe would be in the category that you mentioned. I dont know. I can say this. That she is certainly conservative in her views and her rulings. And well have to see how that all works out, but it will work out. Pete do you think a 63 court with three of your picks on there, mr. President , would potentially rule on a life issue on a roe issue . Its certainly possible. And maybe they do it in a different way. Maybe they give it back to the states. You just dont know whats going to happen. But ive been surprised. Ive been surprised by some of the rulings that weve already had over the last year. You know, you think you know somebody and then you get rulings that are a little bit different than you think could happen. So you never know whats going to happen. Mostly im looking for somebody that can interpret the constitution as written. We say it all the time. And she is very strong on that. And it will be very interesting, also Second Amendment. I feel i know what shes doing on Second Amendment. But i cant really speak for her her. Again im picking a person. Shes going to have to rule the way she feels. But the Second Amendment is under siege. If joe biden got it, got in in any way, if he would have cause i cant imagine that thats going to happen, but your Second Amendments going to be gone and its going to be gone quickly i think. So we cant let that happen. But theyll probably be ruling on Second Amendment and various other things. You know. They say its the most important thing a president can do. I dont know if thats true. I mean, i would say military. You might agree with me. Pete i might. Trump military protection. But they say the selection of a Supreme Court justice is the most important thing. The other thing, by the end of the term well have almost 300 federal judges and court of appeals judges, which is a record. So we will have had a great impact on the court system going forw. Rd will you know, pete were right to focus in on roe vs. Wade. Its so amazing to me how many nominations, how many nominations have been defined by this one very important issue of the right to life. But the reason it has lingered, guys, for decades because it was not decided by the people. Like so many other issues in legislatures and by a vote. It has been hung up by a very weak and thats recognized both by the right and the left legal rationale in the Supreme Court. And because of that weve been hung up on this for decades. Pete thats exactly right. And the court has had a liberal majority unwilling to change that legal precedent. And i think this thats why this fight, even though they dont have the votes, could be as nasty or worse than what we saw with kavanaugh. In the second part of this interview, guys, which is coming in the nine oclock eastern time hour, i ask about that coming fight and whether judge barrett, you know, what advice the president has for her because of the issue of life yes, you could talk about guns and religious liberty and all and obamacare and health care. Those are all important at the Supreme Court. But when it comes down to the base, you know, evangelicals and catholics and christians have been clamoring for a challenge to roe vs. Wade. This might be the moment. She might be a deciding vote. And thats why this is so big. Jedediah and its been fascinating to watch because many people on the right, even those who werent ecstatic about President Trump, came out and voted for him in 2016, largely because of the Supreme Court. I doubt that most people thought though, that he would get three Supreme Court nominations, two now confirmed, a third one waiting to see obviously if shes confirmed, but thats enormously impactful. So these are lifetime appointments, handling key decisions, as you said, you know Second Amendment, first amendment. I mean, people really care about the court quite deeply. So to have this be a front and center issue right now and a pretty solid record of accomplishment with that from President Trump, i think that only helps him leading into these last few weeks of the election. Obviously remains to be seen what the Senate Confirmation hearing will look like, but a really Fascinating Development and a fascinating term to watch, considering what people felt about the court and how it actually played out and in terms of its power and influence with respect to the court, really interesting stuff. We are going to turn to some headlines now for you though because a city in texas has declared a disaster after a braineating amoeba the suv found in the water supply. Lake jackson is now under a boil water notice as officials work to completely flush examine dis disinfect the water system. It comes after a 6yearold boy died after contracting the amoeba in the city earlier this month. Eight communities were initially warned not to use water for any reason, but that has been lifted lifted. And the Trump Campaign and r. N. C. Suing North Carolina over its new guidelines for mailin ballots. They say the rules which allow voters to fix incomplete ballots leave the state open to fraud. Absentee voters previously had to fill out an allnew ballot witness. Now they just have to sign an affidavit they filed the original ballot. R. N. C. Chairman Ronna Mcdaniel will join us to discuss the lawsuit next hour. And an american man faces prison time in thailand for posting a negative review on trip advisory advisory. Wesley barnes recently visited a resort in the country. He later wrote a review calling the staff unfriendly. Barnes was arrested after the resort filed a complaint accusing him of damaging its reputation. He is now out on bail. Wow. Those are your headlines. Can you imagine that . You write a bad review and suddenly big problem for you. Pete absolutely. Now we toss it out to Rick Reichmuth whos got some weather for us. Good morning. Guys, yeah, thats a terrifying story. All right, guys, got some fire conditions coming again across parts of the west. Weve got all of these fours. People across east have been seen even the smoke and the haze in the sky the last couple of weeks. We have more conditions that are going to get worse today and tomorrow especially, santa ana wins across Southern California are happening. This is all happening because of the incredible heat we have this summer, incredible dry conditions, did not get much, much a monsoon season you get across the four corners, across california and nevada. Next few days temps feeling very much like youre in the throes of summer again, not looking like fall now. This is tuesday. We got temperatures into the triple digits even across parts of the Imperial Valley so the heat conditions. Also precipitation this week, take a look at this over the next six or seven days. Nothing really happening across the west. Across the east we have drought across much of the northeast in towards new england, really significant rain coming starting tomorrow for a couple of days ago. Some spots maybe three to four inches and possibly a little bit of localized flooding. All right, guys, send it back to you. Will thanks, rick. With less than 40 days to go until the election, where did President Trump and joe biden stand on Foreign Policy . Well, we break down three key differences in their platforms and what it means for voters and National Security, next. Like l. An army family who is always at the ready. So when they got a little surprise. Two . They didnt panic. They got a bigger car for their soontobebigger family. After shopping around for insurance, they called usaa who helped find the right coverage for them and even some muchneeded savings. That was the easy part. Usaa insurance is made the way liz and mike need it easy. Its official National Coffee day is now National Dunkin day celebrate with a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on september 29th. Yea, that look of pure terror. No, no, the smile. And that second right before the first tear comes. What . pizza on a bagelwe can all agree with that. Do you want a hug . Jedediah with the election less than 40 days away where do each of the candidates stand when it comes to Foreign Policy and National Security . Pete in a new book called the choice our next guest breaks down those differences and lays out whats at stake in novem. Er will that author and fox news National Security and Foreign Affairs analyst and former Trump Campaign Foreign Policy adviser walid phares joins us now with more. Walid, thanks for being here. Lets take a look at one of President Trumps accomplishments during his first term, and that is ending the deal with iran put in place by the Obama Administration. You know, one of the things when it comes to the the presidency, walid, is often its defined by Foreign Policy. Often its defined by what you do not expect to happen across the world. How do you expect these two guys to approach this differently . Well, absolutely. I mean, in the book i look at if you find areas of Foreign Policy policy. Eight of them are about National Security. Three of them with extremely important that would include isis, the iran deal, and of course the peace accord. And i think that there is a major difference, night and day, between the eight years of obama Obamabiden Administration Foreign Policy and the four years of the trumppence administration Foreign Policy. And i begin with the first and most important one basically is the iran deal. The iran deal has given iran regime so much power, so much money to buy more weapons and to control four countries in the middle east. By the Trump Administration of the iran deal was a major change that benefited the middle east and of course we saw now fruited of that withdrawal in terms of peace and in terms of security in the region. Pete yeah, and opened up a lot of other opportunities which well talk about as well but President Trump called them the jv team. President trump crushed them. What was the main difference in the approaches in the device of isis . Its time. You know, isis rules twothirds of iraq, parts of syria from 2014 til the end of 2016. And the Obama Administration, because they were careful with the Muslim Brotherhood and other considerations, did not put all the efforts to eliminate isis in a geographical sense while the Trump Administration was able to do it very quickly. And what is important, we maintain the force on the ground not to let isis to come back neither to iraq or to syria in the isiscontrolled areas. Jedediah walid, can you say a little bit about the Abraham Accords and the role of peace agreements, comparing the Trump Administration and the Obama Administration on that issue . Well, we heard former secretary kerry just a few weeks ago saying that it is impossible and unacceptable that any peace accord will be done between israel and any arab country before the resolution of all the problems between israel and the palestinians. Well, what we saw a few weeks ago that two major peace accords between the uae, bahrain, and israel sponsored by the administration were possible in a span of 40 days. So it is possible to engage in peace processes, and that was the major achievement in that regard. Will as you pointed out; so often president s defined by Foreign Policy. Walid, that mentioned for pointing out three ways these potential administrations diverge. Thank you. Will the left already attack judge Amy Coney Barrett over her Christian Faith. Pastor Robert Jeffress says democrats could fall into a trap that will impact them in november. Hes on deck to explain. Dogma lives loudly within you you. And thats of concern. You used a term in that article or you both used a term in that article id never seen before. You refer to orthodox catholics. Whats an orthodox catholic . I am a catholic. Pete President Trumps Supreme Court pneumonia judge Amy Coney Barrett has long been you are not scrutiny by democrats due to her Christian Faith. Here with the potential impact this could have on the confirmation process is Fox News Contributor and senior poor at First Baptist church in dallas Robert Jeffress. Pastor, thanks so much for being here this morning. So what impact will it have . It democrats go at her Christian Faith, her catholicism, whats impact . Well, i think you see whenever the democrats handle faith issue, theyre all thumbs. I mean you just heard Dianne Feinstein back in 2017 trying to vilify judge barrett for her christian and catholic dogma. You remember in 2017 Bernie Sanders eviscerated roughly vaug vaught for an omb position because he held the basic positions of christian which sanders called unsuitable. And pete, the danger here for the democrats is an image problem. Theyre already being known as the godless power. I mean, it was the democrats who tried to remove god from the Party Platform a few years ago. It was the democrats who said last year theyre not going to pursue faith voters because their values arent consistent with democrats. Its democrats who support abortion on demand. And its democrats with whom 70 of atheists identify. Thats a real problem. I think the democrats intellectually know theyre going to be walking into a trap with this, but they cant help themselves. They cannot hide their contempt for conservative christians. Pete youd think we can move past this. Remember when they worried whether or not jfk would take his guidance from the vatican . Why can we not understand that a judge can have both a Christian Faith and also fidelity to the constitution . Well, i think its exactly the reason that democrats dont really want to follow the constitution. And youll see that. Pete yes. I think if any democrat senator asks her about her faith she ought to say thats obvious. Article 6 of the constitution says you cannot impose any religious test on considering me for my suitability for this position. Its unconstitutional what theyre getting ready to do. Pete but theyre going to do it it. Do you anticipate you mentioned abortion on demand. How much of this is going to come down to roe vs. Wade . And looking forward, lets say she is confirmed, im sincerely curious about this, pastor. Do you think the institution of the Supreme Court has the guts to undo that terrible precedent . No, absolutely not. I think theyll chip away with it, hopefully reduce the abortion. But, remember, pete the Supreme Court never sets trends; it follows trends. The Supreme Court puts their collective fingers in the air to see which way the wind is blowing and then they follow that. You saw that with the gay marriage issue. And i think youll see that with abortion. As long as the majority of americans favor abortion of some kind, they are not going to over overturn roe vs. Wade. But i do think youre going to see this conservative court limit the number of abortions, which will be a very good thing, and the democrats are going to have to continue to hold on to their barbaric position of un unrestricted abortion. Pete yes, their base. Youre exactly right. Pastor Robert Jeffress, thank you so much for your time this morning. We appreciate it. All right. Still ahead in our final hour, part 2 of my exclusive satdown interview with President Trump at the white house. Dont go anywhere. But isnt that the only one . Youre a winner priceline. Every trip is a big deal. Jedediah welcome everyone to our fourth and final hour here, at fox Friends Weekend here with pete hegseth and will cain. Big big day today, big news day, pete first of all youre at the white house, and you are bringing us a great interview that you did an exclusive interview with the president well be covering this hour weve been covering throughout this show and also, were coming right on the heels of that president ial nomination of judge Amy Coney Barrett. Pete yes always an honor to be on the grounds of the peoples house it was a historic day yesterday we got an exclusive interview with the president of the United States and ill say it almost feels like the calm before the storm here, you know the informal confirmation process is about to commence its commencing on the airwaves right now and of course the debate just two days away with our own Chris Wallace, its almost gotime will so nice and calm on the 9 00 hour but we got stuff in front of us. Will i like the analogy, pete. I wonder what kind of storm is coming. I wonder how big, how dangerous, how all encompassing this storm of Amy Coney Barretts confirmation will be, but this is a political storm, lets do this and bring in judge Jeanine Pirro, host of justice with Jeanine Pirro and author of the new book dont lie to me exposing the radical left assault on the liberty. Judge let me ask you this i think history writes looking at past nomination processes and also the left replacing rbg, this is just a very ugly confirmation process but on the other hand, judge, there are those pointing out, if they go down this very ugly path, perhaps, looking at her family or her religion, it could have huge electoral backlash come back on the left so what do you think their choice will be . Well i think that they are so blinded by their determination by their own holocaust dogma to make sure that they have liberal justices on the Supreme Court, that they are going to shoot themselves in the foot just as they did when they said thered be know filibuster for the Supreme Court in the end this is all about roe vs. Wade and they will have a hi ssy fit just like theyve had a hissy fit just like when President Trump was elected to office but they will make a mistake because this is a woman of uncanny charm, poise, intellect, a mother of seven children, a superstar in her own right and i must give kudos to President Trump whose given the American People a list from which he will choose nominees. Hes at his third nominated in see for the Supreme Court that is historic but if you think Brett Kavanaugh if that was a tough hearing that was childs play, compared to what they are going to do. They cant deal with the fact this is a woman who says she loves the United States and she loves the United States constitution. That was music to my ears lets get back to who we are a country founded under judeochristian ethics and you can not describe nate against her because she is a christian, a roman catholic. Jedediah very accomplished woman no doubt and the question remains, judge, will she be confirmed before the election, President Trump weighed in on that very issue lets listen to what he had to say and well talk about it. President trump i think were going to have it done easily before the election. I think it be nice to do, get it out of the way. Its so important a decision i think its important. Were going to try to have it done quickly, and before the election, but think of all the time, so then you have from that day, you have all the way to january 20, so i mean, who would not do this , they say why dont you wait for the next . Well elections have consequences and we won the election with the senate and the presidency so i think shell be confirmed before and probably long before the election, relatively long before the election. Jedediah what do you say, judge will it happen before the election . I believe it can. All you need are the senators and it appears they have the numbers now. The question is what can the democrats do procedurally. There isnt that much that they can do procedurally. They will make things up we saw it with kavanaugh, but the president is determined to have it go forward. Mitch mcconnell said he is and i had Lindsey Graham on justice last night and he said hes ready to roll. This is a woman who was already confirmed by the United States senate 5543 three years ago when she was a nominee to the 7th Circuit Court of appeals and she, what i think will happen is she will gain even more support from the republicans given her time on the bench. But the left again they will do what they do all the time and that is they will have their hissy fit and do whatever they can to stop it. Its not going to matter its going to happen. Pete Mitch Mcconnell holds all the cards and he has the votes at the end of the day. Judge, we have more of that interview, i had with the president yesterday coming up at 9 30, including im going to ask, i asked in that interview and well air it at 9 30 about the debate coming up here were talking about this historic pick on the Supreme Court but there is a debate coming up. Joe biden has been spending about half of his days with a lid on his campaign, not doing any Public Events maybe hes preparing we dont know, but he actually did an interview yesterday on the network and here is what he said about the president. Listen. It is going to be a straight attack and they are mostly personal. Its the only thing he knows how to do. He doesnt know how to debate the facts hes not that smart. He doesnt know that many facts or that much about Foreign Policy or domestic policy. He doesnt know much about the detail and so he can do what he wants. I think like you said itll be mostly personal attacks, and lie s, but i think the American People are on to him. Pete so judge, joe biden says hes not that smart help me out here. Okay, okay, the one that really got the hairs on the back of my neck up was he doesnt know much about Foreign Policy. Are you kidding . This is a man who just did a historic peace deal between israel, the uae and bahrain and serbia and kosovo to boot and when you were in the white house you didnt do that much for african americans, the Unemployment Rate historical ly black colleges, i could go on and on. Look, joe biden is, you know, hes still talking about corn pop and the hairs on his leg and rusty razors listening to the record player. Okay . Look, this is going to be, i mean, this is going to be the numbers tuesday night are going to be unbelievable. My poodles are already waiting but the truth is that if joe biden even shows up, if he shows up because nancy pelosi is saying why bother . Which is a cover just in case the trojan horse that joe is, you know, trying to present himself as a moderate when everyone who has identified with him and Kamala Harris are leftist liberals, progressives when if anyone wants to know what they are then look at the streets of this country, and the rising crime thats going on , defunding police. Thats what joe biden stands for , and americans are on to it he can say whatever he wants. He may even be lucid that night. You never know. He was with Bernie Sanders but most days he doesnt come out. This guy is not capable of being the president. Youve got to be able to show up for work now and then. Whats he going to say hes in the east wing, he wont be see ing anyone . America sees through this charade. Will yeah, the president is perfectly capable of defending his own intellect, but joe biden has an eight year record as the Vice President and 40 years in washington d. C. , if you compare those two records but i want to ask you this you brought up defunding the police and i asked you earlier, judge. What has black lives matter done to make black lives better . I just want to give you this right here. This is a minneapolis city council, after the vote to de fund the police in minneapolis , it looks like theres some regrets im reading this now from the New York Times now some councilmembers would like a doover, counselor andrew johnson, one of the nine members who supported the pledge in june said in an interview he meant the words in spirit not by the letter. Another counselor said that the language in the pledge was up for interpretation thats a quote. So there you go. Some regrets on defunding the police. I ask you that question, how has black lives matter made black lives better . It has not made black lives better, and look ive been in Law Enforcement for over three decades, the bottom line is this the people in the communities, in the minority communities want the police, because they are by far the biggest victims of black onblack crime so the minneapolis by saying were going to reimagine i dont know if theyre high when they said it, but the truth is you cant reimagine policing. Its real simple. You either have consequences to crime or you just were let the criminals walk around with guns and the black lives have not been improved and in fact i believed in the movement. Everyone did it was a good moment in america, on may 25 when george floyd was murdered. Everyone said this is wrong, we cant have this , and then black lives mattered, the organization , a marxist communist organization took over and essentially destroyed all the goodwill and has turned the American People against the whole idea, and thats sad, but whats even more sad are the Young Children are being killed in new york city, in chicago, and all over the country, because of this craziness where people are too stupid to understand that you need some kind of law and order in order for people to be safe. Jedediah judge Jeanine Pirro, thank you for sharing your sun morning with us we love having you. Will thanks, judge. Thanks good to be with you. Jedediah were going to turn to headlines for you now a Los Angeles Police officer is in the hospital after he was attacked inside his own station. And the u. S. Is seeing its highest daily total in coronavirus cases since mid august more than 55,000 new cases were reported on friday bringing the total number of u. S. Cases to more than 7 million. The grim milestone comes as a new study shows less than 10 of americans have covid19 antibodies. Researchers say that means the majority of americans are still vulnerable to infection. And today, the country is pausing to mark gold strong mothers and families day. In 1936 commerce designated the last sunday in september to honor the loved ones of Fallen Service members. President trump writing in a proclamation, it is our sacred duty to recognize the unending and in measurable sacrifices our military families make in support of their loved ones and for our country. The president also encouraging americans to fly the flag and hold appreciation ceremonies. Pete very cool. Will very cool. Coming up, the media is not wasting any time slamming President Trumps Supreme Court nominee. Barretts nomination instant ly controversial. He expects a justice who will uphold our heritage . We all know what that means. Will breaking down that media backlash right after the break. Its official National Coffee day is now National Dunkin day celebrate with a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on september 29th. With any purchase women with metastatic we breast cancer. Rs. Our time. For more time. Has come. Living longer is possible and proven in postmenopausal women taking kisqali plus fulvestrant. In a clinical trial, kisqali plus fulvestrant helped women live longer with hr , her2 metastatic breast cancer. And it significantly delayed disease progression. Kisqali can cause lung problems or an abnormal heartbeat, which can lead to death. It can cause serious skin reactions, liver problems, and low white blood cell counts that may result in severe infections. Tell your doctor right away if you have new or worsening symptoms, including breathing problems, cough, chest pain, a change in your heartbeat, dizziness, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, tiredness, loss of appetite, abdomen pain, bleeding, bruising, fever, chills, or other symptoms of an infection, a severe or worsening rash, are or plan to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Avoid grapefruit during treatment. Ask your doctor about living longer with kisqali. The nominations instantly controversial. Her catholic faith a core value and central to questions about how hed view on issues like abortion. It seems like an illegitimate sham. He made clear from the podium of the white house rose garden he expects a justice who will uphold or heritage, we all know what that means. Will critics in the media calling out judge Amy Coney Barrett as the president officially nominates her to the Supreme Court. Joining me now is media reporter for the hill, joe concha. Joe thanks for being here. In that montage i displayed the last clip is from msnbc lets set that aside they left the planet and sanity quite some time ago but the others are from supposedly objective media sources still people out there assume the nightly news and the today show are telling it the way it is but words like controversial and illegitimate make their way into that script over and over, joe. Its amazing its almost like a memo went out, will, right . In terms of the media reaction being the same all around when it comes to Amy Coney Barrett, and the worst thing that ive seen online, and this is from some democratic operatives are questioning her adoption of two kids from haiti saying is this legitimate . This is something that the press should look into, and look, no one has learned their lesson from Brett Kavanaugh in 2018, when a Julie Swetnick for instance who said Brett Kavanaugh was at parties with date rape going on they gave her full platforms on National Television without vetting her so any allegation thrown at Amy Coney Barrett will be broadcast and part of discussions and its not anything that anybody will be held thible accountable for because there is no accountability in this business, will. Will questions about her adoption process is not disgusting and they are racist and they are as you point out proliferating. One other thing President Trump is on the campaign trail, yesterday, he talked to pete, he had a rally, he nominated judge barrett to the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, i dont know, what has it been . Its been 50 of the time joe biden has called a lid early in the day . He does, he is going to make some remarks today at 12 15, but President Trump is calling it a lowkey campaign strategy. Whats going on . Joe biden over the last 14 days has called a lid early in the morning on seven of those days as you pointed out. 12 times, will, over the last 48 days, hes gone out of the state in other words three out of four days he stays at home, and as you said hes going to deliver remarks on the Supreme Court today, but hes not going to take questions afterwards nor probably will he release his own list of Supreme Court nominees id like t hear whose on that list. So, it begs the question, will, is this a preview of what were going to see if the democratic ticket wins the white house and a Harris Administration with special guest star, joe biden because thats whats happening at this point. If this is how theyre working the campaign, is this the way the presidency is going to work and its a full time job last we checked anyway, will, gotta go, my neighbors are holding a little social gathering outside, socially distanced of course because the first graders are going backtoschool and this week are going to celebrate the way you did at the university of texas with eggs and kegs, will. Will joe you know our favorite thing about you at fox friends how you wrap yourself at the end gotta go, time to go. You just handle all of the business for yourself, man. [laughter] i could do the tease too if you want. Not a problem but yeah it makes the pivot easier always end on a happy note. Will i appreciate you joe. Still ahead, the Trump Campaign rnc suing North Carolina to block changes to voting. Rnc chairwoman Ronna Mcdaniel joins us loo ever to break down their case, next. [ thunder clap ] greetings mortal your journey requires Liberty Mutual. They customize your Car Insurance so you only pay for what you need. Liberty power wow. That will save me lots of money. Youre insured this games boring. Lets get tacos. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Jedediah President Trumps nomination of judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill the Supreme Court vacancy and the rnc now planning to invest millions to promote her qualifications ahead of whats expected to be yet another contentious confirmation battle. Rnc chairwoman Ronna Mcdaniel joins me with more efforts on the ground. Ronna, its great to have you here to talk about judge barrett and this confirmation so first of all lets get your take on the nomination as well as efforts being made by the rnc to promote judge barrett and her qualifications. Well, i think the rollout yesterday was phenomenonal, as she talked about loving her country. The president has picked once again an outstanding pick, somebody who will not only be an outstanding jurist, but somebody who will interpret the law, not make the law. Democrats are already attacking her, thats why we are pushing this campaign to help support her. Were going to get calls into these democrats, the website is confirmbarrett. Com because we want to make sure people actually see what her colleagues are saying, many of whom are liberal. What the American Bar Association is saying, not a conservative group, to show that this is an outstanding pick who absolutely deserves to be confirmed at the Supreme Court. Jedediah yeah her qualifications are extensive and no doubt, this will be a contentious battle many people worry based off of what they saw happen to judge at the time kavanaugh, now Justice Kavanaugh , was just some horrific behavior. I want to shift over with you though because theres a lawsuit from the rnc that deserves attention. Rnc is suing North Carolina to block changes to the mailin ballot law. Can you tell us whats going on with the law, why the lawsuit exists and why its so important yeah, one of the changes that theyre trying to implement is getting rid of signature verification, which as a state thats again going to mailin voting expanding mail balloting into a new form of voting that North Carolina has not been used to, then to say on top of that, were going to remove safeguards to Election Integrity like signature verification, again, undermines peoples certainty in the election process. Were seeing this across the country. Why are democrats trying to make people feel like this election is not going to be secure . Why are they suing to get rid of common sense things like signature verification, making sure that the person whose sending in the ballot is the person who they say they are we should all have certainty in this election and this uncertain time and were going to sue North Carolina and were suing many other states and we hope we win. Jedediah yeah, you know the integrity of our election should not be a partisan issue. That should be an issue that everyone is on board with unfortunately thats not always the case. Remains to be seen, but well be following that lawsuit and see what happens but we have a big day coming up in a couple of days first Vice President ial, president ial debate im going to say with Vice President joe biden, but what do you expect . What do you thinks going to happen here . There have been two very different campaigns leading up to the debate how do you think that will manifest . Well the president has been in a debate for four years with the media that has been relentless with him. He always talks to them. Hes been the most accessible president and hes actually running for president unlike joe biden, who is sitting in his basement not talking to voters, hiding from running for president but joe biden has done this for 47 years. He has been in the political fur or, hes a trained politician and hes cram ming right now. I really want to hear joe biden talk about his policies like getting rid of cash bail when were seeing massive increases in crime across the country, this is concerning, defunding the police, raising taxes on american families, i hope Chris Wallace holds him to his policies because thats what the American People really want to see. Jedediah well Chris Wallace does great work and will be asking challenging questions of the president and of joe biden and everyone is looking forward to that so remains to be seen. I think its going to shift some votes for sure. Thank you so much, ronna, as always. Thanks for having me. Jedediah still ahead President Trump says the lefts attack against Justice Brett kavanaugh could help Amy Coney Barrett. President trump in a way, Justice Kavanaugh was a pioneer, what he went through was so horrible. I actually think it makes it easier for amy. I think they cant do that again jedediah part two of petes exclusive sitdown interview with the president thats coming up, next. Who is usaa made for . I was lucky enough to clerk for Justice Scalia, and given his influence on my life, i am very moved to have members of the scalia family here today including his dear wife maureen. I clerked for Justice Scalia more than 20 years ago but the lessons i learned still resonate. His judicial philosophy is mine too. A judge must apply the law as written. Judges are not policy makers and they must be resolute in setting aside any policy views they might hold. Jedediah thats judge Amy Coney Barrett explaining her judicial philosophy after accept being the president s third appointment to the court. Will President Trump had words of wiz come for judge barrett ahead of whats expected to be a contentious confirmation process pete im here at the white house this morning where yesterday, i had a chance to sit down exclusively with President Trump in his first interview on nominating judge barrett and here is part ii. Pete when you consider what youve been through in these last three and a half years, youre a tough guy, youve got thick skin people have been coming at you. Whats your advice to someone like Amy Coney Barrett whose about to go through this . President trump such a great question. You cant answer it, but i do believe that in a way, Justice Kavanaugh was a pioneer, what he went through was so horrible, false accusations, and hes such a gentleman the way he handled, but nobody, i dont think ive ever seen anybody, for any position, treated the way he was treated, and so viciously by harris and all of them. The way they spoke to this man was so horrible, and i actually think it makes it easier for amy i think they cant do that again they can never get away with it nobody has ever been treated so badly as Justice Kavanaugh at that time judge kavanaugh. I will say this. Judge gorsuch at the time, judge gorsuch, he was treated pretty tough. Got through it strongly. He did a great job, but the way judge kavanaugh was treated was, ive never seen anything like it ive seen some bad treatment. I have never seen anything like that. I think that makes it a lot easier for amy. Pete do you think they can resist it, mr. President . Lets say the researcher resume holds up and there is no obvious attack and the personal destruction is just it into id to pursue their political power, could they resist and hold back . Is that even possible . President trump i dont know if they can hold back but i think they dont look good as they go crazy again. They went crazy. What they did was crazy, and, you know, we had a couple of people that werent real fighter s on our side and theyre gone. I wonder where they went, but theyre no longer with us, and thats a good thing. I think we have great, the Republican Party is very united in this , Lindsey Graham, every one of them theyre tremendous. Mitch, we speak all the time. Pete did you think Mitch Mcconnell be , would play this big of a role in cementing your legacy, three big justices . President trump well we worked very closely together and its been pretty amazing. Look, we have theres never been anything like it. If you think again, we have 40 or 50, we have many people in there waiting to be confirmed right now, for federal judge ships thats a big deal, a federal judgeship, and dont forget president obama left us over 100, its unheard of. He left us over 100 because he probably thought crooked hillary was going to win and, you know, in which case it wouldnt have mattered too much i guess thats what he assumed but he left us a lot, so we will have a record and thats a very important record. Again, judges and justices especially justices of the Supreme Court and to think that id have three in one term pete democrats are threatening to pack the court. That be the fastest way to try to undo this legacy issue. President trump well the only way they can do that is if they win the presidency and they have to win the senate and i think were doing really well. Theres a great hidden majority. I call it you can go to silent majority but its not really silent. Its very, you see the rallies of people showed up last night in virginia. Were looking at virginia very strongly. We think virginia is in play and you saw the people that showed up. We had probably 35,000 people show up at an airport under short notice so we think theres a lot of things going on out there that much moreso than even four years ago. You saw it early pete, but four years ago we had tremendous enthusiasm. Its much more now. Its much more this year. Pete confirmation hearing scheduled october 12. Do you anticipate to have her confirmed before the election . President trump i would like to i would say we have plenty of time, just in case your next question be well, you know, should you wait . They wouldnt wait number one and importantly, we have a lot of time. We also could go after we have a tremendous amount of time, and its been done many times before this way, in an election year. No, i think were going to have it done easily before the election. I think it be nice to get it out of the way, its so important a decision. I think its important. Were going to try to have it done quickly and before the election, but think of all of the time, so then you have from that day, you have all the way to january 20, so who would not do this . They say well why dont you wait for the next . Well elections have consequences and we won the election. We have the senate, we have the presidency, so i think shell be confirmed before and probably long before the election. Relatively long before the election. Pete the debates coming up. Everyone is going to be watching how are you preparing specifically . President trump i think i prepare every day. I think when youre president , you sort of see everything that theyre going to be asking and they may disagree with you, but weve done a great job and created the greatest economy in history, and theres never been from an employment standpoint and from every standpoint and now its coming back and we closed it and saved millions and millions of lives by doing what i did and now were bringing it back and its a vshape, which its maxed out, i mean were setting record unemployment and Everything Else. Even the stock market look at the stock market is and were rounding the turn, i hate when i say that the opposition but we are, were rounding the turn on the pandemic and very incredibly we have some of the Great Companies great vaccines and were going to have different vaccines, very powerful vaccines great vaccines and therapeutics, but this is all happening very very soon, so, were in great shape, but we built the greatest economy in history, and now were doing it again and were doing it rapidly and i think next year were going to have a great Third Quarter by the way and next year i think is going to be one of the greatest years weve ever had on the economy, and its really very exciting actually. Pete well mr. President thank you so much for your time for your time with fox friends congratulations on a very historic day. President trump thank you very much, pete. Pete its true it was humbling to be there, not cliche to say it was truly an honor especially on such a historic day and what exuded from the president was confidence, in the fact that the votes are there, that the pick is right, and even in private he said hey, these polls look a lot better to us than is reported in the news so a lot of confidence here but again as i said earlier at the top of the hour the calm before the storm a lot ahead of us. Will confidence going into the debate as well pete when you asked about the debate. Im fascinated by the preparation process for both candidates is joe biden locked away, deep into the debate preparation . Is President Trump facing off against, you know, shadowboxing against potential candidates Chris Christie playing a role or using the campaign trail as his preparation . I guess well all find out on tuesday night. Turning to your headlines jedediah a couple days away. Go ahead. Will turning now to your headlines video shows black lives matter protesters confront ing a louisville Business Owner, watch this. Is this black lives matter . Im sorry . Is this black lives matter . [overlapping speakers] will protesters demanding the Business Owner voice his support for the blm movement and the man says he was standing outside of his business to protect it during the protest. This just in, dwayne the rock johnson officially voices his support for joe biden. I do feel that Vice President biden and senator harris are the best choice to lead our country and i am endorsing them to become president and Vice President of our United States. Will the rock also holding a sitdown conversation with biden and harris. Joe biden tweeting it out, thank you for your support at this critical moment for our nation. Next time, were talking cars. And those are your headlines. Jedediah were going to head over to Rick Reichmuth now who i believe has some weather for us. Rick how is it going please tell me im going to have some sunshine today. Rick thinking that the rock could use a bigger short it seemed like a little bit too tight there. Pete [laughter] its a schmedium. Will rick did you forget to put your microphone on again . Again, rick . Rick come on this is the second time in six months. Pete this is National Television. Rick ill get the hang of it before one of these years, maybe , here is your temps as you wake up the eastern part of the country looking good were already into the 80s in florida with 70 in new york and weve got 66 in chicago, the cooler air is on its way, in fact weve got a bit of a storm thats coming across the Central Plains a little bit of moisture overnight across the panhandle of florida, but this is the bigger storm and its also going to be what starts to bring in the first batch of cooler air , its this little front that you see thats bringing some showers and some thunderstorms around the omaha and lincoln area, later on today this dives a little farther towards the south we start to see this in areas of missouri down towards arkansas some spots maybe an inch of rain behind this or once this is done. Behind this , is where we start to see the cooler air begin to move in and you see that its not cold but its cooler because youve been so incredibly warm right across parts of the Central Plains. We do see the second batch of cold air comes in, and ill use the word cold because by the time we get towards thursday guys we got temperatures here just into the 40s, across northern minnesota, and by this coming weekend we might be talking about snow across the great lakes. All right getting to be that time of year, snow. Sending it back to you. Jedediah wow. Snow already . Im ready for snow im not going to lie. Will take that microphone back off. No snow jedediah [laughter] we could debate the weather. Outnumbered yet again here i am. All right coming up senator Lindsey Graham says confirmation hearings for judge barrett will start on october 12. Maria bartiromo is talking with senator graham this morning but first she joins us live. Jedediah now for a quick look at the week ahead. On tuesday, President Trump and joe biden will faceoff at the first president ial debate. It will be held at clevelands Case Western Reserve University. The debate will be moderated by fox news own Chris Wallace. On wednesday, President Trump will hold another rally in minnesota. The president will make a stop in duluth where he visited back in 2018 and the state was decided by less than 45,000 votes in 2016. And on saturday, pope francis will leave the vatican for the First Time Since the pandemic began. The pontiff will travel to italy to sign a letter calling on the world to seek the common good. The city is the birth place of his namesake, st. Francis. Will . Will coming up today on sunday morning futures, Senate Judicial Committee Chair Lindsey Graham, whose already planning to begin confirmation hearings on october 12. Jedediah here with more sunday morning futures host maria bartiromo. Maria welcome to the show as always so tell us what we can expect to hear from Lindsey Graham. Maria hi there guys thank you so much. Well, Lindsey Graham will be presiding over the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett and hes going to give us a timeline and hes also going to talk about what is going to be an incredibly consequential week this week. Not only do we have the confirmation conversation about judge barrett but we also have james comey testifying on wednesday in front of Lindsey Grahams committee, that is the Senate Judiciary committee thats wednesday, and of course, weve got the debate. Thats likely going to move markets as well depending on who comes out ahead and let me just say that i will have breaking news on the show in 10 minutes time on the john durham investigation. Pete wow maria you almost always do, again, great show today. Ive got to get your take because the topics for the debate were released and one of them is the economy. What do you expect in that discussion . Maria well, first, pete, amazing interview with President Trump. You made so much news in that interview and it really looks and sounds great. Pete thank you very much. Maria on the economy, let me just say that the economy is improving pete. Youve seen the numbers ive seen the numbers. Before covid19 showed up, we were talking about the lowest Unemployment Rate ever for certain groups. We were talking about income in equality actually improving for the first time in decades with the bottom earners of wages actually seeing their wages go up, so thats going to be a major talking point for the president. The economy, because under his leadership and his policies, they really did move the needle on economic growth. Were seeing more signs of that. I will say that without a stimulus, things might go slower than people expected because most people have spoken with believe that this economy does need more stimulus because of rents and because of those people who have been laid off, so well see. Were looking at a snapback in the third and fourth quarter. People out there are expecting 30 growth in the Third Quarter and lower, about 10 growth in the fourth quarter, regardless. Were going to see a snapback a vshaped economy, based on what we saw in the Second Quarter which was a significant sharp contraction so its a good story for the president going into that debate tuesday night. Will sunday morning futures coming up in about 11 minutes here on fox news. Maria thanks for the preview. Pete thanks maria. Maria thank you. Will speaking of the debate preparations for tuesdays show down looking very different for both candidates Griff Jenkins is live in cleveland with a preview, next. Jedediah were just two days away from the first president ial debate, hosted by our very own Chris Wallace. Pete President Trump and joe biden preparing in very different ways before hitting the stage on tuesday. Will Griff Jenkins is already there, in cleveland with more on the political showdown. Griff . Griff hey, will, pete, and jed its already getting very interesting, President Trump taken to twitter just moments ago, and here is what he had to say. I will be strongly demanding a drug test of Sleepy Joe Biden prior to or after the debate on tuesday night. Naturally i will agree to take one also. His debate performances have been recordsetting uneven to put it mildly, only drugs could have caused this discrepancy. And also we should be getting ready for a very different looking debate here, because of the coronavirus. Now the first difference youll see is there will be no pre debate handshake between trump or biden and there will be the candidates socially distanced but not wearing masks. Now there will be, we are hear ing, a small and limited audience, of less than 100, all of them will be tested and well get the confirmed details from the commission on president ial debates once they have it all set inside and itll be moderated by Chris Wallace, 90 minutes long, no commercial breaks and broken up by chris into six 15 minute segments and here are the topics they cover, trump and the biden records, the Supreme Court, of course covid19, the economy, race, and violence in america, and the integrity of the election both candidates have take in a very different approach to getting to the stage on tuesday President Trump very public with a rally last night, and given you, pete, some insight into what hes doing to prepare. Listen. President trump i prepare every day, i think when youre president , you sort of see everything that theyre going to be asking and they may disagree with you, but weve done a great job. Griff biden, on the other hand, keeping a low profile but emerging yesterday to slam the president. My guess is its going to be a straight attack. They are mostly personal. Its the only thing he knows how to do. He doesnt know how to debate the facts hes not that smart. Griff biden has remarks hell deliver at 12 15 today from wilmington about the Supreme Court. Well find out if hell respond to the president s tweet. Guys . Pete griff i have a quick question on the latest tweet from the president. Do you anticipate this is a deal killer for the debate . Could this end the process of the debate on tuesday night . Griff well, only time will tell but i dont think so, will. This is President Trump doing what he does best, which is to ramp up the rhetoric coming into tuesdays debate, and i think that youll see probably biden not responding to it, but you know, as far as testing itself goes, everyone that comes within this perimeter is being tested by the Cleveland Clinic so im not sure itll be a drug test but certainly a coronavirus test pete griff its the campaign and theres a debate, we will find Griff Jenkins and that warms my heart, griff its great to see you out there, we love it and well be watching thank you so much. Jedediah thank, griff. Griff thank you great job pete on the interview. Pete thank you, brother more fox friends just moments away. It just takes some time, little bit its an important time to save. With priceline, you can get up to 60 off amazing hotels. And when you get a big deal. You feel like a big deal. Priceline. Every trip is a big deal. Its time for theraflu hot liquid medicine. Powerful relief so you can restore and recover. Theraflu hot beats cold. But not every tomato ends in the same kind of heinz ketchup. Because you cant be everyones favorite ketchup without making a ketchup for everyone. Jedediah thank you so much for joining us all this morning it was great to spend the morning with you lots of big news coming up this week too so well have lots to say about the debate next weekend. Will you bet. Great job today pete talking to the president its been great spending our sunday with you at home. Pete yes i will see you there next weekend for sure, a historic week in front of us. Stay with us at the fox news channel, and you know, america, dont put a lid on your day, okay . Dont put a lid on it, go to church. Maria welcome and good sunday morning everyone. Welcome to sunday morning futures im maria bartiromo. The kickoff to a consequential week and month, first, President Trump officially nominating 48 yearold Amy Coney Barrett to fill the late Ruth Bader Ginsburgs seat on the Supreme Court and potentially a third appointment for President Trump in three and a half years. President trump Amy Coney Barrett will decide cases based on the text of the constitution as written as amy has said, being a judge takes courage, youre not there to decide cases as you may prefer. You are there to do your
