Ship, hns comfort to arrive in new york city tomorrow. Griff cdc unveils new travel restrictions. People in new york, new jersey, connecticut urged not to travel to any other state for two weeks. Jedediah the number of deaths surpassed 2000, doubling in two days. There are more than 100,000 cases nationwide. Pete good morning to all of you. Jed, griff, how are you holding up . Jedediah im doing my best. This is a soft spot for me. I have a little one at home. The news gets scary daytoday. I live in new york city apartment. I do my best to be here to bring everyone the news. Pete how is washington . Griff you were asking me earlier, pete, when we started. Theyre doing better than new york. You are hit so hard in the tristate area. People reach out to me and see me reporter and anchor. Across the country there is sense of unity. Were all in this together the president s comments at norfolk couldnt have come at a better time. We need to tap into our resolve. Pete well get into that this morning a great slate of guests. If you want toxin inspired, youre on the right show. Dr. Marc siegel. Peter that far very navarro and congressman dan show later on the crenshaw is on later on the program. We play the number of cases. We see the cases going up. We still dont know when precisely the peak moment will be. Some people say 10 days, 14 taste, 21 days, almost three weeks away . Depend on where you are in the country. Which led the president to put out the tweet yesterday. An Important Development he said off the top. On the recommendation of the Coronavirus Task force, upon consultation with the governors of new york, new jersey, connecticut, i asked the cdc to issue a strong travel advisory to be administered by the governors in consultation with the federal government. A quarantine will not be necessary. Guys, there had earlier in the day, the president alluded to the fact there might be a quarantine. Instead after consulting with the governors of those three states, he said, well issue a travel advisory instead which effectively, please nobody go in and out of the tristate area. Jedediah the word quarantine made a lot of people nervous. He understood that. I think it is very important to have, to witness the cooperation of these governors around the country. Who know their states better than anyone. Then communicating with the federal government. For people to see the communication is happening on a daily basis, hourly basis, constantly, weve seen that in new york. Cuomo constantly in communication with the president. That is an important step in the whole process. I think that transparency about the communication makes people at home feel they are in good hands. Whatever needs to be done in their community, their local community, people at least are on top of it. Griff if you look what needs to be done here is what the cdc guideline says, due to the Extensive Community transfigures covid19 in the area. The cdc urges residents. New york, new jersey and connecticut to refrain from nonessential Domestic Travel for 14 days effective i will immediately. That is good guidance. President first considering a quarantine but considering the chaos that might cause and people might consider the area. Pete you had shelter in place. Tomorrow is the 14 days, the 15 days the president initially asked for people to stay at home to stop the spread. Now you combine that with the hot spots, these three states, effectively saying please dont flee elsewhere, so whatever is here doesnt spread throughout the country. Seems like a prudent measure, certainly something the task force has been looking at. Here is dr. Deborah birx, has been front and center at podium talking about the aspects. She talks about the president being correct directing this in the nyc area. Watch. I think President Trump wanted the whole of america where the virus is and where it is expanding rapidly and really felt like everybody had to be aware and have a travel advisory. In talking to the governors it was clear the governors felt together they could actually keep their people safe and at home like, they all have asked their people to shelter in place, keep themselves safe. Even if you dont think there is a virus there, it probably is. We dont think any city will be spared from this virus. Jedediah you know, this is just smart strategy. This actually isnt scary to me at all. I know a lot of people in places like new york and new jersey, likely have been exposed. They may be asymptomatic and may be fine, if they decide it is getting too much here, let me flee, go to florida and carry the virus unknowingly with them, potentially infect that community that is not smart. We dont want to infect as many as possible as possible not just here in this state but everywhere this is just smart strategy as far as im concerned. Griff it is indeed. It is part of why President Trump sending off the Naval Hospital ship comfort to new york city. The hundreds of workers on board will help hospitals overwhelmed with the coronavirus patients. Garrett tenney from virginia with more on the ship es arrival. Garrett, where are they . Reporter good morning. The comfort is expected to arrive in new york city on monday. It could see patients as soon as tuesday. The goal is the relief the overwhelmed hospital system. They will carry 1200 medical personnel. They will focus on treating patients who are not suffering from symptoms of covid mid. It has 1,000 beds for patients and 80 icu beds which will free up space at the citys hospital. The president saw the ship off as it left norfolk, virginia yesterday. This great ship behind me is a 70,000ton message of hope and solidarity to the incredible people of new york. Were here for you. Were fighting for you and were with all the way, and we always will be. You have the unwavering support of the entire nation. Reporter now the naval, the navys hospital ships are typically deployed on humanitarian missions to other countries after national, natural disasters and the Navy Secretary told fox news on saturday this is really the first time the vessels have been deployed here at home. Back to you all. Pete garrett, thank you very much. The president spoke about this yesterday on the channel. It is very inspiring. He is it hadding a tone people are resonating with. This idea we must gather together. We must muster the spirit and strength, we are Americans First together, despite all of our differences politically. You see that in the response he got from governors hey, should we do a quarantine . No, lets instead do a travel advisory. People working together. The president spoke about that yesterday in norfolk, virginia. Here is what he had to say. The world has witnessed the unyielding resolve of our incredible American People. We are not only a country of vast resources, were a nation of colossal strength, towering spirit, soaring patriotism and exceptional character and you are showing it to the entire world. At this moment pete goes on the east coast but on all of america, americans are stepping up. Jedediah one thing people are plugged into is social media. What you see is people around the commoditytry really plugged in, yes, to the hot spots. You see a soaring sense were all in this together. I had a number of people across the country not from new york, who have never been to new york, saying we stand with you. This is one of the moments in time when you see peoples flag flying outside of their homes. You see people trying to reach out to us in the hot spots. It is something really to remember. It shouldnt take times like this to bring people together like this, but it is refreshing to us that find ourselves in places in these hot spots for people around the country to stand with us and we stand with them. As we said, the hot spots might shift over time. It is new york city. It could be miami tomorrow. It could be louisiana or couple days in a week. It is important to remember that. Griff look at cleveland. Com, were showing pictures. Look at a headline, we spotted a lot of flags across Greater Cleveland after governor mike dewines message to show unity. We havent seen this type of thing since 9 11. When you hear stories, doctors, nurses, Health Care Providers in tristate area, new york, new jersey, showing up every day, you realize really quite a 9 11 mind set, that is why youre seeing these flags, this act of patriotism, resolve has to run deeper than many of us pulled much in our lifetimes. Pete let us know how youre pulling together, email us, friend at foxnews. Com. We heard cool stories about neighborhoods and families pulling together. What are you doing to represent for our country. One guy who has been on the show earlier, jocko willink, former commander of Navy Seal Team three. He will be live on our program with an inspiring message at 8 23. My son boone did a book report on the jockos book. Way of the kid. Jedediah cant wait to hear from him. We go over to jillian mele with the headlines this morning. Jillian a bit of tragedy. At least six people are hurt after a tornado rips through northeast arkansas. Griff President Trump and the White House Task force putting easily accessible testing front and center in the fight against the coronavirus. Meantime several states turning to drivethrough screening to protect patients and medical personnel. Our next guest is the head of one of the First Companies to implement the measure in new york and new jersey. President and ceo of Pro Health Care dr. Baker. Thank you first for what you and your doctors and nurses are doing and secondly, thank you for coming on here today to tell us why do you believe this drivethrough testing could be a gamechanger . Good morning. Thank you very much for having me on. I think the driftthrough test something spirit of what it is accomplishing is a gamechanger a few weeks ago when we started drivethrough testing in new york, available in all five boroughs, with a almost 1000 clinicians. We started with couple sites out of 284 sites we have. We started one site with our Sister Organization part of the same company, Riverside Medical Group in new jersey which has over 300 doctors. Now we become even more innovative. We turned many of our urgent cares, you might have noticed some of the largest urgent care entities in new york shuttered their doors, due to lack of supplies, doctors and staff not willing to come in. But what weve done, we turned our urgent cares open up even more and done walkthrough testing in manhattan, only essential workers, people, dont have cars in some cases so the drivethrough now is at, by the end of this coming week well have five sites in new york and two in new jersey. Testing is critical as you know. It is our eyes and ears, is the disease on an up swing . Is it stablizing or declining . Are the measures were taking working or not . The test something own way to have that insight. Instructions are being called for increasingly judicious and for testing and only where the medical management would be affected. Griff dr. Baker, the drivethrough test something keeping patients from infecting each other and keeping your doctors safer, is that correct . That is exactly correct. When you have a drivethrough or walkthrough, it enables the staff to be preemptively gowned up and donned and know the patients theyre getting testing. If the go you there the drivethrough the window is only half down. Instead of 15 minutes spending facetoface with a patient who if theyre sick can cough or sneeze on you. This is 50 to 100 seconds for drivethrough swab. We dont wait for the patient to get test results. We have them go home. Often types theyre tested for strep or flu, because the symptoms overlap. We call them by the time theyre home with results. It is expedient with much less facetoface exposure. Griff dr. Baker, thank you for what youre doing. Hang in there, well certainly be following this story. It is good you tapped this Game Changing drivethrough testing. Thank you, doctor. Stay safe, thank you. Griff you too. Coming up researchers at one Texas University just developed a lowcost 3d printed ventilator, catching the eye of the defense department. And dont forget to catch trolls world tour. Lets party people one more time. Jedediah take a look at this, researchers at rice University Just created a muchneeded lowcost ventilator to help fight the crohns crohns. The 300 prototype called the apollo bzm, has already caught the eye of the defense department. We have matthew is part of the team and he joins me from their facility. Welcome to the show, matthew. Good morning. This is incredibly optimistic im excited to hear about this, what are these made of, and how long it took you to come up with them. Sure, what we created a an automated bag a mask device. The masks are ubiquitously available in hospitals around the nation and they are device that is used to mechanically but manually compress in order to provide respiratory support for patients. The problem with these masks is that there is a tex or a care provider that must be tied to this mask to compress it for hours at a time. So what weve created is a, Electronic Device that manually compress this is device without the need for a care technician to be around there. So the device devices designed to be open source, built by someone technically literal at a maker space or hospital, who is familiar with electronics. The goal is for this device something that could be built in a short amount of time to support respiratory care for some patients. Jedediah so what has your communication been with the department of the defense and where does that stand right now . That is a great question. Originally we were introduced to the navy who was interested in this technology and the navy brought us in on a call that the dod had through their vulcan system which is looking for Critical Care technologies for the covid19 response. So we submitted to the dods call for that particular challenge. We hope to hear back as early as tomorrow about whether it will move forward to the next stage. So what is interesting to see, is the aspect of the cost. Weve been talking a lot about how expensive most ventilators r if you look at comparing ventilator costs, 25,000 to 50,000 for the average ventilator and under 300 for your prototype, what is the secret here . You talked a little bit about the construction but as someone who doesnt know a lot about technology and dont know about the intricacy of these designs that is enormous price disparity that can make a huge difference in distribution. How did you do this . Thats a great question. The reason and the way we got to the 300 for the apollobvn, the way were selecting lowcost materials and readily teens around us. Cannibalized 3d printers and. Were not creating ventilatorses with as many functions of the normal ventilator. This is the critical functions of a havent late tore. It mimics human breath and provides respiratory support for the patients. Our hope is not to replace ventilators but the hope to offer the solution as a way basically reduce the need for ventilators, to only Critical Care patients and this apollo bvn could be used for patients in respiratory distress but not yet Critical Care. Jedediah matthew, were grateful for the work youre doing over at rice. My husband actually graduated from rice so im partial to the segment. We really appreciate it. We hope you continue to communicate with the department of defense. Something that can help so many people. Thank you for being here today. Thank you. Jedediah a number of companies are shifting focus away from their products and ramping up production of masks to provide for those on the front lines of pandemic. Pete this includes our good friend, fox news meteorologist Rick Reichmuth and his company weatherman. He joins us now with more on his efforts. You filled us and me in on what youre up to. Update the audience. What are you trying to do to help at this moment . Rick we started a while ago working on a rain jacket weve been working on. Were pretty far down along the process of this and it turns out our factory can make masks and are making n95 masks. We thought this is amazing. Obviously a time for us to stop working on the other. Maybe we can transition it to making the masks. And we can make a pretty fair quantity of them, maybe 100,000 a week or so, which isnt small. Then it turned out to try to find a place to purchase them or to be able to, you know, get them into the right hand. That is where everything become a bit more complicated. We know there is a lot of need out there you about finding the right place to get them to has been really difficult for us. Jedediah explain more about the challenges you have been facing. Seems like you have the ability, there may be other people out there in similar position, say im able to help but i cannot get through, cut through the bureaucracy to make it happen. So what happens when you, what is your daytoday challenge . Rick yeah, so, you know, i dont want to say it is bureaucracy for a lot of these places. It is just everybody is fully overwhelmed right now. The process is, you have to go to submit it into a procurement form basically, either in State Government site or a City Government site or a county. So you submit these out into the ether there. You sit, way back to see if somebody is interested in the product that you put out there, that you proposed. The problem that weve had, we didnt want to blanket them out to a lot of people. We heard people are submitting them to really, there is probably thousands of places you could go to submit this to. Then people are popping up and then, people are price gouging between getting offers from one place to the next. We dont want to be in that kind of a process but we want to, you also want to get somebody who can get to your request in a timely manner. One of the problems that were facing is now those places are competing against each other. There is also other countries coming in who are, not just the u. S. That has this need for all of these supplies. So it is a global need for these supplies with people all over the globe coming in now, competing for this. We believe there is a way to make the products but there has to be a more efficient way to find the end user to get them in a simple manner. That said, all of these people, all of these states and local governments are fully slammed to take care of the immediate need. Griff pete yeah. Griff rick, you have the fabric. Im fascinated you had essentially the raw material to make it. What does the material look like . It is not the same fabric. I have prototypes what were working on for the rain jacket. It is a different material. It is a factory that has that ability because they work with fabrics. So they have got all the machines and everything. It would be harder to go take an umbrella factory, which is our primary product, transfer that into making this, because they dont have the machines. Anybody that is making clothes or that kind of an apparel has a much easier way to mike those kinds of transitions. That is how this ended up happening for us. Griff what would you propose has a company, does not want to be involved in price gauging, wants to set a reasonable price, what should happen . Rick if there was some sort of centralized spot i think it would be certainly very helpful so the states are not competing against each other. While everybody es a Human Resources are so tapped that there is an easier way to do this. The openly thing im going to say, if anybody has a need for this or has a product, i can try to match people up again. This is not the most efficient way, but you can email me at rickr weatherman umbrella. Let me now if we can provide them for you or if you have a product, and if i get excess of people i can try to match people up as well. There are certainly i think this thing hit everybody in a way everybody had to go from zero to 100 very quickly. That is a very difficult thing for everybody to ramp up. Anything we can do to help in the process i would love to do that. Pete your point is welltaken. It may not be the most efficient but good people stepping up to try to do their part. If we can connect a few of those folks we will. Rick, thanks for what youre doing, cool stuff. Good luck. Griff good stuff, rick, thank you. Pete you got it. The Navy Seal Foundation is giving kids of america a mission, build your best stay at home forts. Originally started as a challenge for children of the navy seal community, the fort challenge quickly spread nationwide. Here to reveal some of the coolest entries, ceo of the Navy Seal Foundation, robin king. Robin, thank you so much for joining us this morning. So first of all, share what you do with the Navy Seal Foundation and then what this fort challenge is all about . The Navy Seal Foundation was formed in 2000 to serve the navy seal community, its supporting communities and families and veterans. We do this through a number of specialized programs in a five areas. Education, transition assistance, Family Support [inaudible] and this challenge was created because we do so much to bring our community together, especially our children and families and those that have been deployed, theyre going through so much all the time. With this, with this social distancing and mandatory stay at home and all these kid out of school, we really wanted to create something where these kids could still stay connected. We thought this challenge would be a great idea. Pete i love the idea, absolutely love it. As a matter of fact, myself and a few other colleagues at fox had a chance to go to the gala here in new york city a few weeks ago, it seems like a lifetime ago, the mission you guys have is fantastic, it is legit. Supporting this community so much the last 20 years. Makes sense, why not a fort, if youre looking at kids of navy seals, now you want to spread it across the entire country. Easy as build a fort, make it really cool, name it something and send a message to a warrior and a hashtag how do you send it around . The hashtag is fort challenge [inaudible]. Challenge them. Pete personally challenged and bunch of boys at home, a girl that are decorators, and lot of guns, we might have to have a fort hegseth. What a opportunity tos awareness about guys still deployed around the world and families that defend them. Last word real quick to our audience . You know this, challenge isnt just about the military. Our kids get an opportunity to share how much they feel for the support, the support of the military but also for firstresponders, the nurses, the doctors, everybody who is out there, fighting this battle every day. We see a real connection between that group of heroes and the military and [inaudible] people go out and look, they will really see impressive groups and great messages. Pete considering where they came from, built a defensive perimeter around it as well. Sector sketches and all. Robin king, ceo of the Navy Seal Foundation. The challenge is nsf nsffortchallenge. Thank you for everything you do. You got it. Pete Many Americans convinced they had the coronavirus as far as back as december but is that even possible . Well ask dr. Nicole saphier when she joins us live at the top of the hour. There are thoughts that are hard to control. Youre not good enough. But i am enough. And i know what im made of. Put your skin in the game. With a razor that puts your skin first. Resa place to celebrate, been to take a first date, to grab a meal between soccer practice and piano. And even though tables are empty at the moment. The kitchens are full, prepping everything so its just right. Keeping customers safe. And making the food as delicious as ever. Theyre still there for you. Now you can be there for them. While the doors may be closed, the kitchens are open for delivery. The world has witnessed the unyielding reserve of our incredible American People. We are not only a country of vast resource, were a nation of towering spirit and patriotism and exceptional characterrer and youre showing it to the entire world. Jedediah that was President Trump praising americas spirit and resolve as he sends off nate hospital ship the usns comfort. It is expected to arrive in new york city tomorrow. Pete he also urged people in new york, new jersey and connecticut not to travel to other states for two weeks. Griff there are more than 124,000 cases nationwide. Good morning im Griff Jenkins in washington with my colleagues pete and jed in new york. Good morning. Pete it is sobering, the numbers are sobering. We just had the ceo of the Navy Seal Foundation on, she did a great segment trying to lift everyones spirits. I went to the event in new york city. It was a gal l. A. There were couple thousand people there. We were still gathering in a group. That was 3 1 2 weeks ago. So you realize how quickly things change, perception changes, reality sets in and here we are with a travel advisory in this area with nobody going in, nobody going out. It is amazing jed, if you think about it. Jedediah it has been so dress stick so quickly. I was saying that to my husband yesterday. I had given a speech at wagner college. We were talking about it. There was news broke in there was this thing called coronavirus. He knew about it, itwe had been reporting it a while. It was increasingly coming into the area. Everyone was going about their life. A few days later we were in emergency mode particularly in the city. It is interesting to see how it plays out in the country. We are in a hot spot right now. Many people around the country are worried, theyre looking at new york city, saying that could be us next. Theyre looking at measures were taking what has been effective, what has not been effective, the struggles happening among Health Care Professionals in the city and theyre taking notes and the governors around the country are trying to actively affected spread of this. If it is in their community how to prevent it from getting bigger, larger around growing t has been a real crazy two weeks these last couple. Pete get ahead of it. Stay ahead of it. Griff that anxiety felt nationwide, particularly as dr. Birx said it can happen anywhere in america. We put together a great list of guests. Dr. Nick sapphire. Dr. Siegel will be here and Peter Navarro and representative dan crenshaw, knows something about fighting. Pete well try to inform you, inspire you, motivate you, fortify you with every segment we do this morning as we all head into this together. This is big part of what the president s message was yesterday in norfolk, virginia. As the cdc announces new travel restrictions new yorks governor threatens to sue rhode island. They they are sending a warning as rhode island cracks down on new yorkers fleeing the state. Garrett tenney from arlington, virginia, with reaction from the president and lawmakers. Garrett, good morning. Reporter good morning, yall. This comes after President Trump said he was considering imposing a federal quarantine on the tristate area to try to stem the spread of the virus. Instead last night he announced a new travel advisory tweeting on recommendation of the white house Coronavirus Task force and upon consultation with the governors of new york, new jersey and connecticut, i have asked the cdc to issue a strong travel advisory to be administered by the governors in consultation with the federal government. A quarantine will not be necessary. The cdc later released details of this advisory saying due to Extensive Community transfigures of covid19 in the area cdc urges residents of new york, new jersey and connecticut to refrain from nonessential Domestic Travel for 14 days effective immediately. Now advisory does not apply to employees of Critical Infrastructure industries such as trucking, medicine, banks and food supply who often travel to and from work between the three states. The states governors will have full discretion to implement this advisory but other states are taking action of their own to keep new yorkers from spreading the virus to those states. Last week rhode island ordered anyone coming from the empire state to selfquarantine for 14 days with the National Guard going doortodoor and state police stopping cars with new york license plates to make sure they know about this policy. On sat day, new York Governor Andrew Cuomo criticized that policy saying it is illegal. Were talking to rhode island now. If they dont roll back that policy, im going to sue rhode island. No state should be using police to prohibit interstate travel. Reporter in florida, Governor Ron Desantis expanded a state directive ordering anyone not only from new york, but now louisiana as well to selfquarantine for 14 days when they come into the state. Louisiana quickly becoming another hotbed of the confirmed cases of the coronavirus. Back to yall. Pete garrett, thank you very much. Well bring in dr. Nicole saphier now. Fox news medical contributor. She has been helping us every step of the way to better understand everything happening with respect to the coronavirus. Welcome as always. Good morning, everyone. Jedediah good morning to you and what do you make of the latest travel restrictions and the walkback of the mandatory quarantine language . Well, let me tell you i was very, paying attention to President Trump and his tweeting yesterday because i had heard whisperings there may be enforced quarantine. Not that i necessarily would want one. That in itself brings anxiety, that you cant travel anywhere, that gives panic and anxiety even though i dont plan on traveling anywhere. I was curious how this would play out. The truth is were a free nation. Having a mandatory quarantine like that would be against the a lot we stand for as a nation. Im glad to see what you did as the cdc are encouraging people to refrain from nonessential travel. Heres the thing, guys, people shouldnt be traveling right now exempt for essential travel. So i implore people to be staying home this is the whole point. I understand why Governor Cuomo will sue certain states if they dont allow the residents to come in but heres the point. The whole point we want to limit the spread of the virus. Everybody wants to get back to work. Everybody wants kids back to school. The only way to do that if you stay put. The truth, new york, new jersey, connecticut, philly, were the epicenter. We have the most cases. I have friends in wyoming, friend in texas everywhere across the nation, theyre not in the same situation as us. They dont want to be. Not only do they not want to be we dont want them to be. Because the longer this goes on, the longer we all suffer. Im begging people stay home. There is no reason to travel unless you absolutely have to. Stay home comfortable. Have enough resources you need. Hunker in the next couple weeks. Well get through this if everybody just stays put. Pete doctor, it appears there wasnt a enforce the quarantine, the president had conversations with the governors of these states, felt we can police our own backyard and update our citizens not to move. Are you confident that these states can put enough pressure on their citizens to comply . I dont know if i put a lot of confidence in certain government bodies ever, however the truth is i think this should be based on a state by state enforcement. I like the idea of states saying you have to quarantine for 14 days if you come in here. Look, this is what we call on americans. Make good choices. Make good behaviors. Dont be partying in florida for spring break. Dont be congregating at weddings, funerals, other things. I understand we all want to continue normal life, but youre part of the problem if youre doing this. Make smart decisions, have personal responsibility. I promise this will be over soon enough if we make good choice is, dr. Saphier, talk about good choices, he and his wife both felt back in december or january they think may have had the coronavirus. One or two of them went to the doctor, didnt have the flu, well were sick. So they selfquarantined themselves for 14 days at the advice of their doctor. Is it possible that millions of americans as this usa today headline, people had coronavirus at one point and had no idea . Good question, give, and a lot of people are wondering right now this was a bad flu season. Far majority of people with flulike symptoms are not getting tested for the flu. Many had influenza a or influenza b or even a rhino virus, all different viruses that cause flulike symptoms. Is it possible there were isolated travel related cases of covid19 in the United States earlier on . Absolutely. It is not probable that there were millions of people already infected. All of the evidence points to the beginning of covid19 in early november in Seafood Market area, wuhan, china, and that it escalated from there. In the beginning, far majority of people that came not United States with covid19 it was around the time of the Chinese Lunar new year when the most people are traveling. I think ramp up of people came just after the new year. It is hard to say. It is possible there were a few isolated travelrelated cases. We wont know until we test people for antibodies to see who was exposed and who hasnt. Maybe a lot of people with flulike symptoms had to be hospitalized, they had to give blood. That blood was stored. I wonder if they give tests in the too ture to test the blood if they had covid19 or antibodies were there at the time. These are things taking place. They may not be making headlines a the Love Research will be put into this right now. A lot of concerns are decreasing the spread, getting treatments for now. Jedediah doctor, i want to ask you about two new york coronavirus patients were taken off ventilators after getting drugs from hiv. What do you think about that. This medication and immunotherapy that is showing problem in metastatic triple negative breast cancer, that is my specialty, breast cancer. Showing promise for breast cancer. Showing promise for working in hiv. And seven patients were given this medication in one of our new york hospitals, two people had been, were taken off the vent and other people already showed significant improvement in their lung findings. So i anticipate they will hopefully be taken off the vent soon. These are all enyou were encouraging things. Will this be a game changer . Who knows. This comes on heels of another study out of france who looked at 80 patients with combination of hydroxychloroquine and aright my sin. There were a lot of flaws to that study, i wont hang too much on it. It is encouraging. Physicians and researchers out there are trying new things and theyre getting positive results that is amazing thing were working internationally to come together to defeat the virus. I have a lot of hope coming up with certain various different medications that are going to get people off the ventilators and back home. Pete that does give people hope. When youre on a ventilator in icu, and longer youre on ventilator from what i understand the dicier it situation becomes for that patient. How quickly can you identify something that works . How quickly can other hospitals replicate that . Oh, pete it, really depends. Were in a different time right now. Usually people want to wait for randomized controlled studies that show the safety and efficacy of medication. I think sometimes our achilles heel. Were in such a quest for safety and quality people are not benefiting from medications in the trump era that has been less of the case. He has cut through a lot of red tape. I dont mean just now. I mean throughout his entire four years of administration he has been trying to do this with the orphan drug program and right to try legislation. Right now we have people are communicating. In new york we have several hospitals, i work at one of the largest once, we talk all the time. If something is working here, down the street theyre going to know about it. I guarranty they will be trying it too. All of this goes under certain trials under the fda, however, right now, people are coming together an sharing data and sharing some of this research and i would say that, this week youre going to see other people benefiting from some of these. Pete good to hear. Dr. Nicole saphier, thank you as always for your insights. See you soon. Americas largest brewer paying tribute to the heroes of the coronavirus pandemic. This buds for the blues. Poem francis inviting everyone to participate spiritually through the means of communication as he deliver as special prayer for the end to the pandemic on line from an empty st. Peters square. Churches, synagogues, mosques also moved services online. Some parishioners are running drivethrough confessions. As Many Americans look to faith during this time of crisis could it spark a surge in religion . We have max lou cato, tony perkins and pastor paula white cane, who serves aspire all advisor to President Trump. What a great panel. I was talking to my own pastor, chris dirkin im regularly hearing of people who havent been to church in decades tuning into the live stream. One Silver Lining could be that god uses it to change peoples hearts. Max, start with you, do you feel like that is part of what were seeing right now . Absolutely believe that, pete and good morning to you. Pete good morning. I believe god will use this for something good. I believe were going to get through it. I dont think it will be easy. I have dont think it will be quick but i do believe that god is up to something really good and that he is calling his people back himself. Were going to be better because of it. I think, some type of spiritual awakening some type of revival is soon to come. Pete tony, probably not the first thing a lot of people thought of when they think of facing a pandemic. What is it about moments like this that draw people back to faith . Well, historically when we faced these challenges that are bigger than ourselves we find that we quickly come to the end of our own ability and it is at that point we look up and we realize that there is so much more to life. We have to answer those Big Questions about, what happens when this life ends . What happening in this new age, this new world of social distancing some people are finding they have more time and space to get closer to god. Because all of the noise is died down. Were, some people are afraid. Many people are afraid. In fact, if you look there is spike to number of calls to the crisis hotlines but again, this is where many people, they come to the end of theirselves, they find themselves, they find for themselves a new beginning as they enter into a relationship with god. Pete no doubt. Paula, what is your message to the people that have come to the end of themselves, and dont like what they see or know they need something more . Thank you, pete. And i agree completely with max and tony. Were seeing people who are searching. They were as, tony said, afraid right now and they want answers n that search, theyre looking around turning to god and church and faith and many are reaching out. Theyre praying. Theyre asking god to come into their life. We have seen just, i mean incredible reach to some of our friends in ministry reporting time after time again how people are saying god, i need you in this. I cannot do it alone. Reporter absolutely. Max, were heading into easter, holy week, palm sunday next sunday, to have three highprofile folks like all three of you, what would your message, what is your anything get to people out there as they wont be able to go to church the way they normally do in their congregation with their families. What is tangible thing americans can do this morning, this week in the holy season to draw closer to god . Max, start with you. On this sunday morning i will share a beautiful passage from the old testament. God side if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, i will hear from heavin and i will forgive their sin and i will heal their land. You know, revival is a supernatural sovereign act of god. We cannot force it but we can request it. So we humble ourselves, we pray, we repent, we turn to god and i think, what god is doing, he is calling us to himself, and the miracle of easter sunday, is every bit as real today as it has ever been. Pete very much so. Attorney any, for people who have been away from the faith for a while and dont know how to jump back in to the exercise, what would you say to them . This is a time to recalibrate. This is a time to focus on that which is important and that which is eternal. I would share a passage of scripture that paul wrote to the phillipians, he said, be anxious for nothing, but by prayer, with supplycation, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto god. There is opportunity to be thankful, thankful were being drawn back to that, which is important and that which is eternal. For those anxious, encourage them to pray, look to their creator, the means he happens provided a relationship with him through his son jesus christ. This is a great time when all of the other distractions have died down. Were in need. Lets look to our creator. Pete wellsaid. Paula, your message . You know god is a certain god, in times of uncertainty, some people dont know how, how do i go to god . God wants a simple, truthful, heartfelt cry to him. Romans chapter 10 versus 9 and 10. That if we confess the Lord Jesus Christ with our mouth, which means to make a covenant, believe in our heart he is the son of god, we will be saved. I love the word saved. It is from a week word which means salvages to be delivered, whole, rescued, restored. It is going to god with a sincere heart and mouth of copnant. God according to psalm chapter 91, our rabbi will declare this as a psalm of deliverance and protection and healing. He that dwells in the most high place of the god shall abide in the shadow of almighty. When you dwell, sit, and god is saying to us, relax in me. Rest in me. Know that you have a certain god during uncertain times. Pete very wellsaid, paula whitecain. Tony perkins, max lou cato, thanks. And pastor, chris derkin. Colds neck church. Find him on facebook and individuals in their churches or facebook themselves. Look for messages on sunday something you can share with your familieses. Thank you very much. In the army we always assess the enemys dangerous course of action n this case the enemy is a virus we cant see. The most dangerous scenario, coronavirus coming on the mercy and infecting people there. What are you doing and can you do to make sure the ship stays coronafree . Sure. At papa johns, we want you to know that from our 450degree oven, to box, to you, its our policy that your pizza is never touched once it comes out of the oven. And were taking extra steps, like no contact delivery, to ensure it. Jedediah our next guest was over the moon she found out her family was growing. Now with the country gripped by pandemic the joy of bringing home pa new baby comes with unexpected new fears. Rachel who is about to have her fourth child joins me with her story. Congratulations. I just had a baby. It is a great time to, you know, just being pregnant and knowing youre bringing a life into this world. We cannot lose sight of that incredible blessing in the midst of all of this but how are you feeling right now with all of this news going on . I truly cannot imagine. I just went through pregnancy myself so im so in touch with what youre going through right now . Pregnancy is super overwhelming, especially heading into my last four weeks of pregnancy, with that. Im trying to grapple with all the unknowns with pregnancy, giving birth, you never know what happens. It is a lot, it is a lot to handle, to understand, to kind of emotionally, kind of wrap my mind around because i truly wake up every day, i am like is this really happening . Am i really going to bring a new baby home in the midst of all of this . Jedediah one thing i remember, toward the end of the pregnancy in the particular, inhad a lot of doctors appointments, i had to go to hospital bunch times for scans. I went to the hospital three times because i panicked, i thought my water broke. Just the idea being in your head where the hospital could have a lot of covid19 patients what goes through your mind when you think about stuff like that . I am super grateful this is baby number four, if this was my first, i think i would be a losing my mind because with my first one i had so much anxiety, i had never done this before. I have the same doctor, the same hospital. I know that the hospital, the ob wing, the labor delivery is completely separate from the rest of the hospital. I kind of know my way around there. So that makes me honestly feel a little bit better medicallywise. Going into the office is a very weird thing because i have not left my house in 13 days. So having, looked, forced out of my house to go to someplace where other people are, no matter what it is, is kind of terrifying. I dont touch any elevator buttons. I dont touch anything as much as i can just for my own safety but also, my mentality. I just been trying to protect that space as much as i can mentally can. Jedediah i mean im completely with you. I have a fourmonth old, a little over four months, i am doing the same thing out of fear. You never know. It is a very different head to be in thinking of someone else above yourself which youre doing. One thing brought up to me a lost pregnant moms are worried about diapers, baby wipes, having enough supplies of these things. Because you have had children you are way more experienced than i was at the time knowing what you will actually need. Have you thought about that angle of it at all . Oh, my gosh, yes. And i dont, im a preparer when it comes to babies. Obviously im a good planner which most moms are but there was this time i was like, i dont have any newborn diapers. Jedediah right. And you know, im a month out, thinking i will be totally fine. I will buy a box when im in the hospital. I was on amazon prime some diapers to my house. It was going to be fine. Now im realizing i cant find newborn diapers. I cant find wipes i need. Amazon was completely sold out. This is crazy. That is when i started to panic a little bit. Im super prepared for this baby but i may not get the essentials i am supposed to have. Jedediah i dont want to cut you off, were running out of time. But we appreciate you being here. I am fully confident you will be well. I wish you the best of luck with your baby. More fox friends coming up. Thats why its so important to help reduce your risk of fracture with prolia®. Pete the number of u. S. Deaths now surpassing 2,000, doubling in just two days. There are more than 124,000 cases nationwide as of this morning. And good morning. Welcome to the eight oclock eastern time hour of fox friends on this sunday. Griff jenkins in washington, d. C and jedediah bila just safely right below me here in studio f in new york city. Good morning to you both. Jedediah good morning, pete. Obviously this is a difficult day. Its been very difficult for many people out there as the news has evolved very quickly when it comes to coronavirus. We are in you know, you and i are in new york city which is a hot spot right now. Many people around the country watching this grow and saying, will my state, will my city become the next hot spot . So theyre paying very close attention to whats being done in places like new york city, for example, with respect to masks, Health Care Workers, challenges faced and overcome successfully. Lots of lessons to learn. Every day you wake up, it seems something adifferent, is involved, something has chan. Ed griff it seems pretty much every day for the last two weeks the president at that Task Force Press conference with dr. Fauci, dr. Birx and everyone else, Vice President pence, but leaving d. C. For the first time, to go there in norfolk to deliver that message of resolve, the colossal strength of america so important as we also in that open announced the rising infections and tragic deaths, numbers that we know and expect to rise also, the president saying so should, too, our strength cause were all in it together. Trump this great ship behind me is a 70,000ton message of hope and solidarity to the incredible people of new york, a place i know very well, a place i love. Were here for you. Were fighting for you, and we are with you all the way, and we always will be. You have the unwavering support of the entire nation, the entire government, and the entire American People. Pete a strong message from the president yesterday there in virginia as he has had from the white house over the last couple of weeks. On our program we had captain john rotruck, the captain of the u. S. Mercy, the sister ship to the comfort out in los angeles prepared to assist there. We asked the captain about his mission similar to what the comfort is doing. Heres what he had to say. The mercy is here to take care of noncovid infected patients so we can bring those patients board and act as a relief valve. I sense tremendous enthusiasm in our entire crew [bad audio] a rare chance to help our fellow americans on american soil, a definite demonstration of Navy Medicine on behalf of our country. Pete god bless those two. Jedediah well bring in dr. Segal. What do you make of the impact of these ships, the mercy, the comfort, and what kind of effect they will have in terms of the ability of these hot spots to deal with the disease . Well, first of all, as the president just said, the United States navy ship comfort, a thousandbed hospital with 12 operating rooms, icus, radiology suites, labs, 5,000 units of blood is going to bring here a spirit of courage, United States military, of hope, and assistance, and its going to mean that noncovid patients, patients that dont have this virus will be able to get traumatic services, emergency and urgent surgeries and care outside of the hospitals in new york city which will free them up, jedediah, to focus in on not just care for the virus patients but to separate them out properly, observe proper infectious precautions, and to get our Health Care Workers properly outfitted. That will take a tremendous amount of pressure off and were all going to be inspired to see the ship come here tomorrow through new york har. Or jedediah can i have just one followup question, doctor. Peter had asked early to another guest about the concern that someone with coronavirus could potentially get on one of those ships. Obviously those ships are designated for noncoronavirus patients. Do you think they adequately will be able to prevent that . Thats my first thought, somebody gets on there, has un unclear symptoms, has not had a test, gets into the ship and then suddenly you have coronavirus spreading on the ship. That would be a huge problem. Theres two things that come to mind. First is the word triage. They shouldnt be bringing patients to that ship that have viral or respiratory or symptoms that could be chrone. It should be for things like broken bones, for surgeries, not for that. The second thing thats related to that is i really want this rapid pointofcare test that av avid has made that we really can test people within five minutes to see if they have it or not. Widespread use of that right away. Pete cant get on the ship til you take it, might be the way to do it. New yesterday, potentially the president may take a step to do an enforceable quarantine of new york, new jersey, and connecticut. Later in the day the president clarified. Heres part of the tweet that he sent out about the move theyre making. He said, on the recommendation of the white house Coronavirus Task force and upon consultation with the governors of new york, new jersey, and connecticut ive asked the cdc to issue a strong travel adviser to be in consultation with the governors, in consultation with the federal federal government, a quarantine will not be necessary. The cdc followed up with per hour direct guidelines. This is what it says. Due to the extensive transmission of covid19 in the area, c. D. C. Urges residents of new york, new jersey, and connecticut to refrain from nonessential Domestic Travel for 14 days effective immediately. Doctor, your reaction, is a travel advisory right now the right way to go, and what impact will it have . I think its hugely important pete, right now when you consider that theres 52,000 cases in new york state alone, and that also has additional cases in the outlying areas, what we call the tristate area new york, connecticut, and new jersey. We need to clamp down on travel and really restrict people, staying at home, sheltering in place, very careful travel for only essential means. But we need it for essential means to keep whats left of our economy going; so its important important. I think the right decision was made. Strict travel advisories. And i would urge everyone whos watching us to follow them, because we dont need more cases right now. Our hospitals here in new york, for example, are completely overwhel. Ed griff well, dr. Segal, all our viewers appreciate what you and the other doctors with are doing answering questions from our viewers. We have a question from dan. Lets see if you can answer this 37 he says, is it true indoor humidity can increase the transmission . Excellent question. There was a study from the c. D. C. , centers for disease control, back in 2013 that did show that human air indoors increases how far respiratory diseases can travel so i think its a good idea that you have humid air, a humidifier in your house right now. Its not a cure all but we feel its a positive step. Humid air outside will help decrease the spread of this. Were hoping spring will bring hope in that reg. Rd jedediah we have a question from elizabeth on facebook. If people are smoking or vaping, does the smoke they exhale carry the virus . So thats another excellent question from our producers. I dont think so. But ill tell you something. Ill tell you why i dont think so. Because its not airborne. Its a respiratory droplet. So it shouldnt travel on vapor smoke. Its a respiratory droplet only. Its not hovering in the air over you. But i want everyone out there to know that vaping and smoking damages your lungs in ways that make it more likely that you would have a serious case. Now is the time to quit, not tomorrow. Now. It will help if you, god forbid, get this, you would likely have a milder case. Pete one more question email from jack says, can the new fiveminute test you talked about, doctor, for covid19 be adapted to thedrivethrough process so people find out right away . You know, i will be talking to admiral jarrar from hhs about this. I think the answer will be yes. Theyll certainly do more testing. Easier to use swabs, 5 to 13 minutes, should definitely be used on those mobile units with definitely, and will cut done dramatically. Those tests can do 50,000 patients a day. Thats what we need here in the United States right now. It will help separate people out who have covid19 from the general population. That will help to squash this. Pete dr. Mark segal, thank you for being with us. Great stuff for our viewers. I should share with our viewers as well griff when i came in this morning, i swiped an essential personnel id for one Griff Jenkins authorized to work in new york city through august augustof2020. Our next guest is one of the most patriotic people we know here on fox friends, retired navy s. E. A. L. And author of Leadership Strategy and tactics a field manual, jokko willink joins us now. Jokko, thank you so much for being here this morning. Really appreciate it. You know, as you youre trained for this as a commander of navy s. E. A. L. Team 3, youve written books about having courage and being a warrior. What is your message to americans today amidst this pandemic . Theres a lot of unknowns out there right now, and i think you try and focus on what you can actually control and not worry about things that you cant control at all. So take the guidelines that were hearing from the government, put those into action inside your family, keep that social distancing, and just look to the future. Well get through this. Pete you know, i get some feedback on social media, people skeptical about, is this real . Are we going too far . As someone whos been and done the real deal, seen it firsthand is our government, is our president , is he responding the way we want . Well, what you do in situations like this is you want to set up to mitigate the risk; right . Mitigate risk. Were not a hundred percent sure what the risk is right now; so were taking measures that we think are appropriate for the time. And as time moves on and if we theres less risk, well lessen some of those measures that were taking. But right now we have to do what we can to mitigate the most extreme risk that we can think of. Pete boy, talk about someone who understands mitigating risk, thats you in your day job. Patriotism for americans. You know, theres been so Much Division in our nation, so much partisanship. I mean, there were impeachment hearings all the way through february, jokko, before the reality of covid19 really set in. What is it we can rally around now as americans to set that stuff aside . Well, as you know, pete, from being in the military, whenever a group of people goes through challenging things together, they unify and they get tighter. And i think thats what were seeing across the country right now. Is it sad that it has to take Something Else . Yeah, it is. But at the same time lets hope that something positive comes out of it, and that is the fact that were all working together to try and get through this. Pete you know, my son boone is in the hegseth school for Higher Learning where im the principal and his project this past week was to read your book way of the warrior kid and do a presentation to the class about it. He did a great job. Great book, by the way. Kids should read it. How are you talking to kids, being a warrior, understanding invasion were in, managing the angles they might have about this . Its the same in any leadership position, with your family, with people that work for you, what you want to do is you want to tell them the truth about what you know, about whats happening, and where people make a mistake is if they dont understand whats happening, they try and make something up and they end up looking bad cause theyre wrong wrong. Its better as a leader just to tell the truth about whats happening. If theres something that you dont know, you explain 245 and you explain what you as a leader and as a team are going to do to get through this. Pete may i ask how are you personally managing your time, social distancing, what you are doing in your household . Well, you know, i got both my older daughters are home from college, so thats fun. And then, you know, im just doing a bunch of work trying to do things that i dont need to travel for. At my company were doing a lot of online consulting right now now, which is working out great; so im just getting through it like everybody else. Pete like everybody else. Thats right. Although youve done a little bit more than the rest of us. Jokko willink, thank you so much for your time this morning, your love of our country. We appreciate it it. Great stuff. Thanks for having me on, pet. Pete still ahead President Trump using the defense production act requiring American Car Companies to make ventilators to meet the urgent demand 37 top trade advisory Peter Navarro joins us next on fox friends. And, i tell them, nobody should. But, i just dont think you need a separate private plane. But i, but i want it hey, buddy. Whats the damage . I bought it the waterfall . Nope a new volkswagen. A volkswagen . i think were having a breakthrough here. Welcome to caesars palace. Thank you. Hey you, yeah you. I opened a sofi money account and it was the first time that i realized that i could be earning interest back on my money. This is amazing. I just discovered sofi, and im an investor with a diversified portfolio. Who am i . They make you feel like its an honor for them to help you out. Thanks sofi for helping us get our money right. And even though tables are empty at the moment. Now you can be there for them. While the doors may be closed, the kitchens are open for delivery. Trump i stroked the defense production act to compel General Motors to accept, perform, and prioritize federal contracts for ventilators. Weve delivered thousands of them, and oftentimes you dont need ventilators very much. Were in a position to make them and other countries arent. My order also establishes that Peter Navarro, a very trusted person from the white house, hes done an incredible job for me terms of negotiation, in terms of understanding where the world is going economically, peter will serve as National Defense production act policy coordina. Or jedediah that was President Trump speaking about the National Defense production act. We actually have Peter Navarro with us right now, director of the office of trade and manufacturing and National Defense production act policy coordinator. Peter, welcome to the show. Jed, how are you . Im humbled by the words of the president and his trust in me. Jedediah tell us a little bit about that new position and what your priority focus will be. Were at war against an invisible enemy. This is a wartime president , and what were engaged in, jed, is the greatest industrial mobilization since world war ii. What im focused on is the expansion of our Industrial Base and to make sure that we have an allocation of resources in our supply chain so theres no bottlenecks or delays. We work in hours now to move things along, not days or months months. And im just so proud of this nation at this point. The president has mobilized the full force of the federal government, but weve also seen the full power of private enterprise join hands with us. And theres so many good stories you can tell you about companies voluntarily coming to the table, repurposing their manufacturing. I just got news today which id like to share with you. Theres over 500 distillry companies bacardi, pinot, rickard, and many, many others that are make han sanitizer for us. This is the kind of thing, the new kind of rosie the riveter here. Theres no doubt, theres a lot of power in invoking the defense production act, something normally our system of capitalism would be quite weary of, the federal government mandating, requiring Certain Companies to make certain things including General Motors prioritizing ventilator manufacture. Hugh do you make the the decisions, what they should make how they should do it . Its exactly what we need now at the front lines of our professionals. The ppe, part of our lexicon the protective goggles, gloves, the masks and things like that. But these ventilators are really crucial cause theyre the last line of defense for people who become seriously ill. And we know what we need. Were out there getting it. And the defense production act should only be used sparingly to Order Companies to do things. And just yesterday i was sitting working all day long making sure we talked to over 12 Ventilator Companies to nail down what that production schedule was going to be like. In the case at gm the problem the president had was that we were losing days. And so my hope now, gm got the message, were going to be working today as we speak in kokomo, indiana, getting ready to ramp up the 1500 workers there making thousands of ventilators. Wed love to see the first one roll off in 30 days and id love to go up there and instead of taking a bottle of champagne and christening a ship like in world war ii well take a Hand Sanitizer bottle and get that ventilator into hospitals in new york and detroit and new orleans and chicago and every across this country who needs them. Thats what were doing. We know what the need is. Jedediah peter, have you spoken yourself to anyone from gm yourself to confirm that theyre on top of everything that youre hopeful they are doing . Thats a good question good question. Yes, ive spoken with people at gm on this, had numerous conversations, talked to people at General Electric and ford. Its very interesting how you have two Different Cases here, where you had g. E. Working with ford voluntarily, getting out ahead of the curve, no questions asked, and then you had gm working with a very small, fine Company Called ventek which had the space and capital up in kokomo, in one case were moving in trump time, as quickly as possible, in the other case, it was just dragging, the president said enough of that, go the defense production act. But its really important. Theres two things we have to hit here, two targets. One is we have to expand and re repurpose our Industrial Base so we move from making alcohol to Hand Sanitizers, but we also have to make sure that the components we need for things like ventilators and the Raw Materials we need for things like masks are there when we need them. Thats going to be the other part of my job to dope out that supply chain seven tiers deep and make sure theres no bottlene. Ks griff peter, i want to ask you because all of the experts tell us we can expect a peak 14 to 21 days. Can you tell us what youre looking at the in terms of increasing this largest industrial mobilization, where are you going next . Yeah, i love that question. Its not my lane to know how long this is going to do. I can tell you that were going to get to the other side of it under the president s leadership as a stronger, more resilient nation. Not even my job is to crank out millions of masks, thousands of ventilators, and all that. So thats where im going with this effort. Pete peter, whats your advice to Smaller Companies . We had rick wright here, hes our meteorologist here, he had a company weatherman that thinks they can make a hundred thousand masks a week. Hes not sure as you go to the county, the state, is there a federal database for companies that want to help, where should they start to try to get in the mix . I love that question. Theres an Organization Called the National Council of textile organizations being run by a wonderful hero in america, kim glass. And it started out with Companies Like haynes, fruit of the loom, parkdale mills, and whats been happening is other Companies Like my pillow have wanted to get part of the effort effort. I refer them to the National Council of textile organizations because now we have a cookie cutter design that we can use thats been approved by the f. D. A. That Small Company can plug in there, and all this happens organically through the private sector. We dont have to do it on high. So thats the kind of thing, just if youre a company out there that wants to help, contact somebody in your trade association, contact the white house, and well get you plugged in. Thats what we do here. Griff peter, one just final question, and that is we are likely heading into a global recession, not just one here at home, as the white house trade adviser, what impact do you see this having on that problem . Let me say one thing about the globalization. President trump has been exactly right that we need to have our jobs here, our factories here and secure borders because the one thing ive learned here as im trying to secure all the important things for people of america, its spread out all over the world. Ten out of the top 20 countries that provide us with the pharmaceuticals that we need have now imposed export restrictions. So one of the things that we never again. After this crisis is over, we have to make sure that were able to make the medicines we need, the masks, the medical equipment, and supplies. So thats one of the things were focused on longterm. And thats going to create millions of jobs for this country. And i see a Bright Future for this country under the president president s leadership. We the congress did the right thing in passing largest stimulus in world history. And we get to the other side of this, were going to be stronger more resilient, and this economy is just going to be fine. I tell you what, were going to make our medicines here and our medical equipment here. And if we dont do that, we didnt learn the lesson. Pete it is a huge one that we must take away from this moment, the ability to have our sovereignty by producing things here, a message the president has been on from the beginning but Something Like this exposes vulnerabilities of our medical supply chain. Peter navarro, good luck. As an american citizen we all wish you the best in this big task. We appreciate your time. Thanks for letting me share this morning. Jedediah thanks, peter. Heading over to jillian this morning. Great information there, and we are following this story now. More american sailors testing positive the coronavirus. His mom says the cops even invited him to tour the station once the pandemic is over. And we certainly wish him a very happy birthday. Thanks, jillian. Pete tossing it to our main man rick, via skype. I dont know if you saw the video of the tornado yesterday, especially the one around jonesboro, arkansas, devastating tornado caused so much damage and people amid the covid19 issue having to get out and repair their lives. A really rough one. Take a look at the map, still plenty of warm and juicy arm across eastern parts of the country with the colder air coming in behind it, the Severe Threat today not nearly as significant as what we saw with it yesterday and thats the good news. We do have storms continuing to pull off toward the east. Yesterday we saw the 17 reports of tornadoes. Today could see a tornado or two but for the most part i think were going to see really strong winds and some very significant hail. That right there in that little green bullseye thats where were going to have to watch this today, once this is outta here, things calm down for a couple of days. Back to you. Pete thank you, rick. Appreciate it. Still ahead, the department of Veterans Affairs, the va, appearing to walk back a controversial proposal that would impact veterans care during the pandemic. You know, as we analyze all the information this morning in an attempt to get our arms around it some questions ive raised, jed, and thoughts ive had is how do we get a sense, how do we wrap our brains around whether or not those infected are icu patients or whether theyre managing it at home. These are the types of questions we want viewers to send in, friends foxnews. Com, well be on answering your questions. Jedediah also just questions about how asymptomatic people are walking around. Ive been interested in antibody question and whether or not well be able to confirm people may have been out there had the disease, recovered from it, didnt realize it and those people can maybe help those who havent had the virus, they could help their parents without worrying it could spread to them because theyve already overcome it. Were going to be talking about those things with our great doctors on the show. Pete email us as friends foxnews. Com. Were going to ask and answer those types of questions. In the meantime the department of Veterans Affairs appears to be walking back a controversial proposal amid the pandemic. One official suggested there would be a 90day pause in the emission act, President Trumps signature act with the v. A. , gives veterans more choice with the private sector. Last night in statement, va secretary wilke saying i am not pausing the emission act. Whoever sent out that Statement Last week did not accurately characterize what we are doing. All nonemergent requests are reviewed on a casebycase basis basis. So what is fact versus fiction . What do veterans thing . Joining us is executive director of concerned veterans for america Nate Anderson and a green beret himself. Thanksr being here. A lot of us saw last week we thought the veterans were going to pause. What was the reaction of the v. A. And vettes in general about this and what do you say about the v. A. Walking it back and saying were not pausing . Good morning, pete. Thanks for having me. It was a surprise. The v. A. Did announce theyre reducing some elected services as a preventive measure. Thats a good thing. But in proposal, this temporary cause on Community Care referrals which are actually private referrals to outside care, thats something that President Trump i think deserves a lot of credit for in recent reforms, namely, the va mission act. We dont want to see this walk back now. Its a log progress thats been made. But the v. A. Has been using this confusing, bureaucratic language to say that they might refer veterans outside and then they might not but, pete, the mission act is law, and it doesnt have this middle ground that the v. A. Can decide yes or no. If a veteran qualifies for outside care and that care is available to them, then they are entitled to be referred to it, period. Pete thats why so many of us bristled at this when we saw it is because theres already present of anecdotal evidence that bureaucrats and others inside the v. A. Are working to slowwalk the mission act, the choice into private care, hospitals not administering it well because they want veterans inside the v. A. System. Then you see the potential for a pause on top of it, it could be an opportunity to sort of snuff it out altogether. Its good to hear that the v. A. V. A. s reversing this position. Hopefully it means veterans can be at a v. A. Facility if its working but also access that outside care. It is. And, pete, i just want to point out one consistent truth in this issue. 90 of veterans, their families and the public support giving veterans more access to choice. And i suppose there are several different explanations for what the v. A. Is trying to do, but what is clear is that if this proposal goes forward veterans in many parts of the country will end up with less choice. [broken audio] pete i think we lost dave, i think i know where he was going, veterans ending up with less choice at the very moment they would want more of it. Thankfully he did reach out and clarify, hes on pause, if you will, but obviously we want the best to get the best possible care either at the v. A. Or on the outside and the president gets a lot of credit for opening up that private choice. Still ahead, College Students across the country warned not to go on spring break, but a lot of people are going anyway, dumdum dumdums, and now a parent wont let them back in the house. Was that the right move any like that one. Because you cant get to the theater, were bringing the theater home to you with xfinity movie premiere. Such news. I know what this is. Jedediah weve been showing you those images of partiers on spring break in florida ignoring warnings to socially distance. Now one new york dad is refusing to let his son back home after he ignored warnings and still went on spring break in texas. Peter leaven telling the new york post, nat sent me pictures of him and his friends congregating outdoors and listening to live music. His grandparents live here and there is no need to expose them to god knows what he has been exposed to. I filled the trunk of gnats car with groceries and left him 300 in cash and said do not go any further. I love my son, but they were not sleeping here. Here if weigh in, Fox News Contributor and host of moms on fox nation, rachel camposduffy, also known as the resident super mom, i gave her that title way back and i hold to it. What do you think, rachel, as resident super mom, is that dad being too tough or is that just the right amount of tough love . No, good on dad. And, by the way, that dad also has his parents parents living in the house so an added danger for the elderly, and theyre living in that house. I think he was right on. You know, i just read an article jedediah, about a doctor in california who has been taking care of covid19 patients, and he wants to protect his own family; so hes pitched a tent in his garage, and hes actually living out of a tent inside of his garage. Might be harder to do in new york, but that could have been another option for the dad, but hes absolutely right on. Hard to tell a 20yearold that this is dangerous, but if they dont listen there has to be consequences and it cant be that you let them back in and infect the family and god forbid the grandparents. I applaud what hes doing. Not easy, but he has. To jedediah i want to ask you about the stress of coronavirus. You know, you have a a very successful marriage. A, you know, got married recently, had a baby. My husband and i are in a onebedroom apartment in new york city right now. We spend a lot time together because were in the apartment. Unless someones, you know, running to work which is basically me right now, what are your tips to people out there . Ive gotten a lot of emails on how do i keep my marriage healthy when were under quarantine, when were in, you know, a small space for an extended period of time, what are your best tips . Yeah, absolutely recognize that this is a high stresser for marriages. And there are some tips. I mean, so many of us are the planning out what to do with our kids and their homework. We better also have a plan for how to protect our marriages during covid19 because more stress pete rachel, we actually have a we have to head out, unfortunately, we got a quick wrap, i want to hear your thoughts, put them on twitter, ill retweet them today. President trump the world has witnessed the unyielding resolve of our incredible American People. We are not only a country of vast resources. Were a nation of cold os all strength, towering spirits, patriotism and exceptional character and youre showing it to the entire world. Pete welcome to the final hour of fox friends on this sunday edition that was President Trump yesterday, in norfolk, virginia, praising americas spirit and resolve as he sends off Navy Hospital ships, the usns comfort to new york city expected to arrive tomorrow jedediah just last hour newly appointed defense production coordinator Peter Navarro joined s announcing General Motors will start making ventilators today. Gm got the message and they are working today as we speak in kokomo, indiana getting ready to ramp up the 1,500 workers making thousands of ventilators wed love to see the first one roll off in 30 days. Griff this was the number of u. S. Deaths surpasses 2,000 doubling in just two days. There are more than 124,000 cases nationwide. Good morning to you im Griff Jenkins in washington, with pete and jedediah up in new york. Pete good morning. Great to have you, thank you for spending your time with us on this split screen edition here on sunday. As we all manage the new reality i mentioned last hour i was part of a Navy Seal Foundation event here in new york city just three weeks ago where thousands of people were in a giant ball room and yes, there was Hand Sanitizer handed out which im carrying with me today, but to think three weeks later here we are not just staying at home and advising what the government wants us to do but now were going on a new travel advisory jedediah in the tristate area saying dont leave new york, new jersey or connecticut if you dont have to. Jedediah we have President Trump on that tweeted on the recommendation of the white house Coronavirus Task force and the governors of new york, new jersey and connecticut i have asked the cdc to issue a strong travel advisory to be administered by the. Governor novembers with the federal government a quarantine will not be necessary and obviously there had been a lot of talk about a potential quarantine that made a lot of people nervous the idea of a mandated quarantine and the president importantly so spoke to governors and cuomo weighed in at one point from new york and got their feedback and the recommendation is good and solid and the reason is that there are a lot of people who may be asymptomatic. For example, who are in states right now that are hotspots those people may be inclined to say oh, its getting crazy here, let me head out. Thats a bad idea because you have the potential to then expose people in other states and not only do we want the hotspots to recover quickly, but we also want to prevent the spread across the country. Thats very very pivotal to everyone emerging from this quickly and healthful and getting it all under our belt. Griff if you live in that tristate area or any atf hotspots here is the cdc guidelines part of what they are saying is due to the extensive transition of covid19 in the area, cdc urges residents of new york, new jersey and connecticut to refrain from non essential Domestic Travel for 14 days effective immediately. That is an interesting timeline as everyone has to find their resolve to do that of course with easter coming up you certainly would have people normally traveling a lot in this period. Not so much now. Pete a great reminder youve been sheltering in place for almost two weeks monday is the deadline o of that initial 15 days the president xied the nation to observe, now youre saying, jedediah to your point, if youve been doing that now is not the time to now travel elsewhere, meet with family or go across the country because you dont want to be here, were all in this together lets keep the lid on this hotspot as best we can and then manage elsewhere around the country. So, a strong move, not a quarantine, not something that hasnt been mandated federally, as the states feel like they can handle it themselves. Jedediah exactly right and other Important NewsPresident Trump sending off Navy Hospital ships to new york city with hundreds of medical workers on board will help hospitals overwhelmed with coronavirus patients. Garrett tenney joins us live from arlington, virginia with more on the ships arrival. Reporter well good morning, you all the comfort is expected to arrive in new york city tomorrow it could start seeing patients as soon as tuesday. This massive Naval Hospital is now heading to whats become the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the u. S. And with more than 1,200 doctors, nurses and medical professionals on board the comforts goal is to take on that burden that is overwhelming the cities Healthcare System by treating patients on board who are not infected and freeing up hospital beds in the city for the continually growing number of coronavirus patients who need urgent care. The comfort can hold more than 1,000 patients with 80 icu beds, 12 operating rooms, an isolation ward, medical laboratory and a pharmacy all on board. Here is what President Trump said as the ship took off from norfolk, virginia. President trump this great ship behind me is a 70,000ton message of hope and solidarity through the incredible people of new york, were here for you, were fighting for you, and we are with you all the way, and we always will be. You have the unwavering support of the entire nation. Reporter and the comforts sister ship, the usns mercy arrived in los angeles on friday and while these Navy Hospital ships are typically used in Foreign Countries after natural disasters on humanitarian missions the white house says these missions will likely be the most important they ever undertake. Back to you all. Jedediah thanks, garrett. Were going to bring in dr. Nicole saphier now fox news medical contributor helping us out with this daytoday to evaluate the evolving issues. Nicole welcome back to the show. You know, i understand the resistance to a mandated quarantine. I really do, but my concern is just what many people have voiced is a lot of people just dont listen so the suggestion of selfquarantining will they listen to that . Can you trust that people will follow the recommendation of the governors and do whats right to keep everyone as safe as possible . Well no were not going to be able to ensure that every Single Person is going to listen to the advice and take the warnings and kind of do what they are supposed to be doing but the good news is the far majority of people are listening and staying homing so this far majority of us are paying attention, doing what we need to do and just by continuing to put forth these strict recommendations i do hope people listen to them. Im very cautious to say there has to be a federally mandated quarantine. I think that that really goes a lot of what we leave as a nation do i think that certain states need to potentially implement more strict penalties . Possibly. I mean, lets remember how seat belt laws came about. It wasnt because people were afraid of getting in a car accident they started wearing seat belts it was because they were afraid of paying a financial penalty so if you start saying to people if you do this , youre going to be penalized then maybe they are actually going to listen because lets be honest there are people who one do things for the goodness of their own health and Community Health so i think if certain governors want to impose some sort of potential penalties i think thats going to make people stay home. Pete thankfully i think weve seen a reservoir of goodness from the American People over time willing to take these types of measures temporarily for the betterment of the country and hopefully we can tap into this now and thats the spirit of what the president is saying. Here is a travel advisory. Stay where you are and protect your fellow citizens in the process but i want to ask you about another subject which is pregnancy. Life goes on whether its as things people are hospitalized for other than covid19 but also the wonderful blessing of human life. We had Rachel Mckibbin on the program, a mom to be talking about concerns among pregnancy and we want to play it. Pregnancy is super overwhelming especially as im heading into my last four weeks of pregnancy if that and im just trying to grapple with all of the unknowns which with pregnancy and giving birth you never know whats going to happen but i have the same doctor, the same hospital, i know that the hospital, the ob wing, labor delivery is completely separate from the rest of the hospital. I kind of know why way around there but that makes me honestly feel a little bit better medicallywise. Pete so doctor, jedediah did a great job with that interview she has a young child herself. Whats your message . Well, so we have to know that during pregnancy, hormones and emotions are already high. Youre already feeling a bit anxious and also we know our immune systems are decreased when were pregnant so not important thing for our pregnant patients is that they do exactly what were saying to the general public. You want to have some social distancing you want to continue hand hygiene, try not to go out in public, and because the pregnancy wards tend to be separate from the rest its very important if they are having symptoms they call ahead and dont just show up because the last thing we want is to spread the infection within the pregnancy ward. My brother and fatherinlaw are both obgyns up new jersey and they are seeing positive pregnant patients up there. We dont have enough information on how this will affect people. We do know that pregnant women in general tend to have more severe illnesses so we want to do everything we possibly can to keep them healthy just like any other time of year but the important thing is, if youre feeling anxious, feeling nervous, you talk to your doctor , you talk to your friends because that can also play a role in your health as well. We want to keep you healthy and happy as much as possible. Griff dr. Sapphire i have the question really everyone is asking themselves and that is should you be wearing some sort of a mask . The Washington Post with this headline saying simple doityourself masks could help flatten the curve. We should all wear them in public. At first we were told the mask will work only the special ones the n 95 now maybe, you know, any kind of mask is helpful. What do you say . Well risen listen in the very beginning people should not be walking out in public with n 95 mask or surgical grade manufactured mask. Those masks need to be reserved for our healthcare workers i still stand true to that. Will a makeshift mask do . Some of these home made masks . Sure they are going to stop some of the larger respiratory particles from entering your mouth. I think that they will offer some protection. They arent going to be 100 effective, and the one thing that i do get concerned about with the general population wearing these make shift masks is one, that its going to give them a false sense of security. They may now be touching the mask even more, they may not think to wash their hands as much, they may actually go out to social environments a little bit more risky behaviors because they think they are protected by this mask, but if you want to wear a mask when you go out in public thats fine but i do ask you to please reserve the n 95 masks for our Health Care Workers. Pete great point and message as well. You would know, dr. Sapphire, thank you so much for joining us again on fox friends this morning appreciate it. Thanks guys. Pete now a few additional headlines from jillian. Jillian good morning lets begin with this sad story the first nypd officer died from the coronavirus. Pete thank you, jillian. Griff its going to be great stuff. Still ahead, Budweiser Brewing up support for the heros of this pandemic, the companys ceo joins us next, on their work, with the red cross to bring relief. This buds for the blues. , the reds. This buds for the blues, the reds, and the warriors. This buds for the magic, the athletics. Pete americas largest brewer paying tribute to the heros of the coronavirus pandemic with this new Budweiser One Team ad, anheuserbusch also donating 5 million from their sports developments to help the red cross setup blood drives inside empty stadiums. Michelle dukarus is ceo and president of about anheuserbusch, sir, first when you hear it the blues and the reds you dont realize theyre talking about sports teams but they keep going with the warriors and the magic and the angels. Were missing sports right now but anheuserbusch tapping into the deeper connection that we have. Talk to us about this ad. Good morning, pete thanks for having me here. So, our idea was simple, yet powerful, was that this moment while all the leagues suspended their sports, we have this huge history, budweiser in sports is combined and we thought about the heros that are not playing, are not on tv now, but we have all these people playing heros, doing their daytoday job, standing for america and for everybody when we need them the most. So we decided very quickly to pivot to work with red cross, to bring this together, and make these very sincere, its simple but very sincere tv ads to recognize the work of the heros that are out there, working for us now that we need them the most. Pete great point, weve all idolized people who can hit a baseball or a hockey puck or hit a three but these are the real heros fighting a real virus saving real lives at this very moment. Talk to us about what it means to convert arenas into temporary blood drive centers with the American Red Cross. What does that look like . Yeah, that was a brilliant idea that came from our marketing team, the budweiser teamworking together with our Corporate Affairs area, red cross and our leagues, so a lot of people stay at home and a lot of people are scared about going out and life seems to go on so red cross needs to make sure that people are donating blood its their number one priority. We thought about bringing us altogether as one team, as we say this season, we are one team , so the teams and the leagues are providing the stadiums. Red cross is going to operate that. We created the campaign to make sure that everybody is aware and working together, we think that we can do something very meaningful for america right now pete it makes sense the American Red Cross has a shortfall in the amount of people donating for obvious reasons and you go to a stadium where you can provide social distancing as well as a rallying cry for people who used to watch sports as part of a human effort very cool. You got it. Pete if folks want to learn more where can they find out more information . The red cross website . It will be on the red cross website. We are working with them tosspot some advertisement as well, so shifting our properties that we already have on what people one day can do but the website is the best way for them to search for information. Pete sir thank you very much for your time this morning we appreciate it. Com griff North Carolina based Charity Samaritans purse arrives in new york city overnight. The organization is building a 68 bed emergency Field Hospital in just 48 hours to help the city battle the pandemic. Joining us now is the president of samaritans purse, and the billy graham evangelist Ic AssociationFranklin Graham. These are pictures youre looking at here that franklin sent me last night around 10 p. M. , the truck pulling into fifth avenue. Those trucks carrying respiratory equipment that will be a big part of the Field Hospital setting up in full disclosure, i have indeed traveled around the world from s udan to haiti to cambodia as well as in katrina, in houston with samaritans purse, ive seen their operation and theyre uniquely fitted to address a crisis like this , because of their past experience many of our viewers may remember it was samaritans purse that brought that ebolastricken doctor into texas and he is of course a survivor now that can draw on these things, but it is definitely a challenge when you have to tackle what franklin, in our conversations in the last few days has said, an issue thats going to get tougher. Now what you can certainly count on in this situation is that every hand is appreciative and helps out but really the logistical side of things as we were seeing White House Task force trying to get things going, it sanctuary samaritans purse and grahams organization that does the logistical side as well as the experience and knowhow on what to do. Were going to try and get him on here with us, obviously, a very difficult situation. Samaritans purse by the way also having set up a Field Operation overseas in italy as well. Its really quite something to see and i can tell you, its going to be a big part of dealing with the crisis in new york where it is an unprecedented number of cases , new numbers in new york are 53, 520 and 834 deaths. I want to bring back pete and jedediah up in new york, guys, i obviously am talking about an organization ive worked with and whether it was in the northern part of iraq or down in haiti, in many of the crisis that we have encountered this is a group that when they come riding in they are one that you want to see. Pete griff so true an Amazing Organization i know well get Franklin Graham in a moment communication challenge at a moment like this as soon as we can hear from him we will but they know how to meet the needs of people but also their soul with a message of faith and Franklin Graham does such a good job. Gerri they sure do and in fact i believe weve got reverend graham, franklin good morning to you tell us about your latest operation arriving in new york just last night. Thank you, griff can you hear me okay . Griff yes, sir, loud and clear. Okay well listen we came in last night about midevening. Weve got 68bed hospital to have that set up and running on 98th and fifth avenue in 48 hours. Were also in pomona in italy so the two hotspot in the world right now helping people and of course griff always want to do this in jesus name. Were coming up on easter and its my prayer that there will be many people, griff, millions of people, not only across this country but around the world, who will look to god and who will put their faith and trust in his son, jesus christ, because jesus christ, we celebrate easter because he died for our sins. He was buried on the third day god raised him to life and this is our hope for anyone who puts their faith and trust in jesus christ. He said ill never leave you, ill never for sake you, hell be with us always and we know that one day all of us are going to have to face death and stand before god, and i know that my sins are forgiven and i know that when that day comes youll be ready to stand before him, so its my prayer there will be millions this easter who will turn their hearts back to god and who will put their faith and trust in his son jesus christ. Griff franklin, you and i have been talking in recent days and when i said that samaritans purse is a rock in these situations because of my firsthand experience with you, you said no its jesus christ that is the rock and your message that you articulated is certainly important at this time but i want to talk a little bit about your organization because youre uniquely suited to address issues like this. You know, weve seen the healthcare frontline worried about getting covid19 themselves. Tell me about how your team prepares for this and takes this undertaking. Well first of all weve had a lot of experience dealing with ebola, various countries in africa so our teams learned a lot how to protect themselves but this is different. This isnt ebola. This is a respiratory infection and we can i think beat this , but its going to take prayer, its going to take god, and it takes all of us working together , helping each other and thats why were in new york, were there to help the people of new york in jesus name. And i said that im not the rock. But jesus christ is the rock. We put our faith and trust in him, we stand on that rock and thats my hope. We need to pray, griff, also especially for the healthcare workers. These people are so overworked and they are discouraged they dont have time off. And arent given the sleep they need. We just need to pray god would give them rest and strength and thats a great need right now praying for the healthcare workers not only in this country but around the world. Griff Franklin Graham a very strong message as we approach holy week, palm sunday this sunday. Thank you for your words and my hats off to all of the brave volunteers there with samaritans purse and your staffers, thank you. Thank you, griff, god bless you. Griff all right, god bless. Still ahead, Hillary Clinton mocking President Trumps America First message amid the pandemic. Congressman dan crenshaw sound ing off saying now is not the time to get political. He joins us next. Griff were back with a fox news alert the number of u. S. Coronavirus related deaths now surpassing 2,000 doubling in just two days there are more than 124,000 cases now, nationwide. Jedediah this as Hillary Clinton takes to twitter to mock the president s America First after the u. S. Reached the most cases in the world tweeting he did promise America First. Pete disgusting those comments not sitting well with congressman dan crenshaw firing right back on twitter calling her out for political opportun ism lets bring in that man right now, gop congressman dan crenshaw, former navy seal and author of the forthcoming new book, great one, fortitude, american resilience in the era of outrage. Congressman we look forward to getting a copy of your book, soon comes out in early april, but when you saw that tweet from Hillary Clinton, theres one moment and one thing we should be able to avoid politics on, its this , and then she tweets that . Yeah, exactly and you mentioned in my book one of the things i talk a lot about is outrage culture and this new found issue where we find the worst of each other, right . And we question each others intentions and that happens all the time in politics but now is not the time to do that. There is a pandemic going on and somebody like Hillary Clinton is so used to taking political jabs at the president or her political opponents any time theres an outcome that is unfortunate, but this isnt the time. This is a tragedy for all americans for the entire world, and its just not the time and this is what worries me about the future is we have Difficult Conversations about how to move from risk containment to Risk Mitigation to Risk Management opening up society along with the threat of the pandemic. Its going to be easy to take swipes at each other and easy to have very disingenuinous criticisms of each other and moralize against each other but we cant do that. We have to do this together. Jedediah congressman i want to ask you about texas because in an attempt to prevent texas from becoming the next potential hotspot, Governor Abbott required travel travelers to uk. What do you make of that decision . Well i think this is going to be the future and its the right targeted approach, okay . Were going to be able to use data to see where the hotspots are and take this sort of vertical approach and move away from the horizontal approach where we quarantine everybody and we start looking at who are our most vulnerable people, where are the hotspots as we ramp up testing well have more data to inform those decisions and this is on the backs of governors and mayors and i think this said Something Else. As americans we tend to keep looking for the president to micro manage our situation. Thats really not how our system works, it never has and it never will. Every city has different needs. Every city has different preferences, different problems and governors and mayors are really running this show and i think would be hover americans to understand that a little bit more and looking to their local officials for how many ventilators are coming in, when is the ppe. We keep looking to the president to do that and its really not how this works. The federal government is there to support the efforts of our local governments. Griff congressman i want to ask you about, i dont need to talk to you about resilience my goodness with your experience but the president yesterday, i think spoke some words that really may ignite a fire in some people feeling anxiety and uncomfortable with what theyve got to toughen up. Here was the president in norfolk yesterday. Listen to this and i want to get your reaction. President trump the world has witnessed the unyielding resolve of our incredible American People. We are not only a country of vast resources, were a nation of cold os all strength, towering spirits, soaring patriotism and exceptional character, and youre showing it to the entire world. At this moment. Griff congressman how important are words like that at this time i think unbelievably important and we should stop downplaying and criticizing well we arent doing it but a lot of people are, the president every time he does Something Like this or tries to give americans hope or tries to point out the positive things about whats going on. Thats okay. Lets embrace that. Just this once, lets embrace some of the good things happening lets embrace the fact that our industries have totally ramped up production of ppe, factories are totally changing what they do to make ventilators , that people are actually coming together and figuring out what needs to get done. Doctors are coming out of retirement. You know, we ramped up testing to an enormous degree in this country which is why our cases are so high, Hillary Clinton. Now, lets celebrate this stuff. Lets Work Together, lets stop looking for cheap political jabs to take at each other and actually get through this. Pete thats exactly right. Were actually transparent about our numbers because we dont lie to the people in the world like the communist chinese do and we have Rapid Testing as a result the numbers will go up you can point that out without being partisan. Weve been asking our viewers to send in photos that motivate and inspire. Here is one from lauren from texas. Sending this one with his dog, brandy he vows to hold this one man and dog parade with the flag every morning until the crisis ends. Jedediah here is one from eric and lisa. They say they fly the lag to salute these wonderful often un recognized heros. Griff and robert sends this with a 26foot flag pole now in front of his property, they say everything in texas is bigger, and congressman, that certainly would apply there. Yeah, it is true, and i love seeing this kind of stuff. This is exactly what im talking about. You know, our flag is so important. Thats why i hate seeing people destroy it, because this is a symbol that brings us together. It means something to us. Its a symbol of our founding, of our history, and of these values that make us american and those values are courage and strength and the ability to overcome anything, and so i just love seeing that stuff. Pete great stuff. Jedediah fortitude resilience in the era of outrage. Thank you, congressman for joining us today. Pete thank you, sir, appreciate it. Thank you. Jedediah now well head over to jillian for headlines. Jillian good morning we have a fox news alert so lets get right to this a fiery plane crash at an International Airport in the philippines look at this flames tearing through the airport, in the countrys capitol manila. The plane was reportedly carrying medical supplies for the coronavirus before making a crash landing, so if we get any new information well pass it along. Now to this , jon bon jovi revealing some of the lyrics to his new song, do what you can for Coronavirus Relief efforts. Will this life become a movie that no one wants to see , everybodies working hard to keep their head above the scene jillian the singer playing versus after fans asked him to write the second verse. His teenage son jacob may have had a mild version of covid19. Bon jovi telling us he was quarantined from the rest of the family and is feeling okay. His son did not actually get tested for coronavirus but at least it sounds like hes feeling okay now. You can still enjoy disney magic despite the theme parks being closed. The Youtube Channel virtual disney world offering Virtual Reality rides with 360degree videos, you can use a smartphone to ride some of disneys most well known attractions as if youre actually there. Disneyland and disney world are closed indefinitely amid the coronavirus outbreak. Those are your headlines, jedi know youll be doing that later today you said. Jedediah that is the rest of the day in a nutshel. Lets ask rick. Do you like rides . Rick i love them, but i get so sick on them. Jedediah but maybe the virtual ones will be kinder to you. Check them out. We can go on the rides together later. Rick no way. Pete so true as we get older they are just less fun. Its true. Jedediah im old r than you, pete dont blame this on age. Rick [laughter] all right, jedediah we had such an incredible day yesterday with Severe Weather including one really big torn right in downtown jones Border Patrol o, arkansas hitting the South Central part of the town, six people are injured from what they know and fortunately no fatalities, if you look at the weather maps exactly where the storms were yesterday, continuing to pull off towards the east and well see a chance for a little bit of Severe Weather in fact the Storm Prediction Center just upped their chance for Severe Weather across areas right across parts of western new york and western pennsylvania so well watch that very carefully throughout the day today. All right guys back to you. Pete thank you, rick appreciate it. After lawmakers passed the 2 trillion stimulus bill, what can we expect on wall street tomorrow . Jedediah tomorrow morning the stock market set to reopen for its first full week since the president signed that massive 2 trillion relief package. Griff this after the dow dropped more than 900 points on friday, capping off another volatile week on wall street. Pete so what can we expect tomorrow . Here to react sunday morning futures host maria bartiromo, maria thanks for being here one of the hardest jobs in media is to figure out wherein the world we are with wall street right now, in business. Whats your take . Maria well, you know, i think that were going to continue to see lots of volatility and unknowns, because we have to get a handle on the health part of this virus and that really is going to be dr. Fauci, and really the medical side of this in order to understand better when a vaccine can be on the market and when we will see these therapies coming out. Theres a lot of optimism in terms of biotechs and what the pharma sector is doing and i think little by little investors are getting more comfortable with this unknown, and the impact on the economy. You know, we really just need some clarity and its clear that the president wants to open the economy again, but is being held back by the medical side of this , so until we really have clarity in terms of when these therapies are going to hit the market, when we are actually going to get our arms around this virus you really, you should expect wild moves in the market. Having said that there is an incredible amount of stimulus coming at this problem with the 2 trillion congressional move that was signed into law this weekend, and then youve got the federal reserve, the central bank has been there not just cutting Interest Rates but also opening windows in terms of lending, allowing the banks to have a clear path to lend to individuals, so given all of the stimulus out there, you have to believe that at some point, this market is going to come back and come back big and the economy will get back on track, but you are talking about no growth for a couple of quarters and the contraction in the Second Quarter. The Second Quarter begins this upcoming week and it is widely expected we will see a contraction in the Second Quarter because all of these businesses are closed so if we do two quarters of contraction that be officially what a recession is, but you know, im getting more and more optimism by the people that im speaking within terms of maybe we skirt a recession. Maybe we avoid a recession at this point, because of these expectations that were going to have a big rebound. I had secretary mnuchin on, on friday on mornings with maria over on fox business and he continues to expect a big re bound whether its the Fourth Quarter of this year or the First Quarter of 2021 when we get it, its going to be very strong. Griff who you got today . Maria we got a big show this morning well talk with larry kudlow and hes going to answer this question, when business will get back up and running again, so larry kudlow is going to join me along with Kevin Mccarthy and then senator cotton, one of the first senator s to really discuss the origination of coronavirus, what hes expecting in terms of china and its accountability here, well also talk with Lindsey Graham and senator john kennedy going to be another big week this upcoming week in terms of stimulus and what the senate and the house is going to do in terms of the coronavirus and its impact so well talk all about that in the next hour. Jedediah thanks maria sounds great. Still ahead, mans best friend living up to the reputation during the pandemic. Jedediah a service dog in training bringing comfort to the medical staff on the frontlines against the coronavirus fight. Oneyearold win cuddling workers during much needed breaks from their denver emergency room. Joining us now is er physician dr. Susan ryan and the service dog she is training win, welcome to the show. I see win there. How are you guys doing . Im good. Shes slowly waking up. Jedediah so doctor, talk to us a little bit about the role that win has played in terms of helping out these workers that are on the frontlines. I think just her presence helps it, because we calm ourselves when we see her because we always can come up and pet her after we washed our hands, and that presence just grounds you to the moment and i think thats the problem with our increasing anxiety and stress is we get out of the moment and were pretty wrap ped up in emotion but it helps bring us back to the present time and calm. Jedediah im not going to lie shes calming me from a distance right now which is no small task if you know me so is this something that you have practiced before . Has win come to work with you before or is this something new that you brought on to the scene due to the i intensity level of the coronavirus pandemic . No shes the second dog ive raised for canine companions which is a nonprofit that breed s their own labradors and golden retrievers and trains them to become service dogs or Assistance Dogs that are task oriented so shes my second one and shes been coming to the er since she was about 12 weeks old and shes now just rising up to the challenge as the rest of us are. Jedediah so what happens . Do the doctors take breaks and then i had heard there was some sort of meditation room where they take a break from the patients and go and spend time with win is that how it works . Yeah the social worker has set up a little meditation room in her office and will go in there, get a warm blanket, puts on a guided meditation for one minute and then we lay there with win, and i noticed that sometimes maybe a pa whose really emotional will come out smiling and win seems to get even closer to them and want to climb up on their laps even tighter so she seems to fence people that have more high anxiety. Jedediah i was just going to ask you that does win ever get anxious because shes picking up on anxiety from someone else . I have a dog and sometimes if im anxious, the dog will pick up on that and i notice her running around and pacing. It may be different for dogs trained though. So i think youre absolutely right that emotions can travel both directions on the leash and so the trainer of the canine companions are checking ourselves and making sure that we are sending the right signals to the dogs too, so i get the amazing thing about canine companions is the dog by the time they make it through training they are so grounded and we have a 98 success rate once theyre placed with people free of charge. Jedediah well thank you, doctor so much and thank you, win for all youve done we appreciate you very much at this time. Thanks so much. Youre welcome. Jedediah we have more fox friends coming up straight ahead i have a back rash. Alright. Whoa, mara. I laugh like this. [ laughs obnoxiously ] its just not my scene.
