Want to emphasize, this wasnt free speech, that wasnt neonazi, not kkk, this was free speech. Only a handful of those. President trump tweeting looks like many antipolice agitators in boston. Police are looking tough and smart. Thank you. He then also tweeted i want to applaud the many protesters in boston who are speaking out against bigotry and hate. Our country will soon come together as one. Lot to unpack there, michelle. Have at it. Well, first of all, i think that the behavior of many of those counterprotesters, which was on display many of the local news stations there were able to show the true face of some of the more militant antifa activists and agitators. These people were taunting at least one black officer and using the most vile language, proving that for so many of these socalled peaceful protests its not about standing up against bigotry, its not about standing up against hate or racial supremacy supremacy. It is what it always has been with so many of these protests ive covered over the years, friends. Its about antipolice animus. It is about sabotaging law and order. You also saw many ugly and hateful faces and voices attacking the peaceful free speech ralliers, who were draped in the American Flag or in one instance, an israeli flag, who were harassed and bullied and run out of the park. This is not about peaceful protests. Jon one elderly Woman Holding an American Flag and one of these thugs grabs the flag out of her hand, knocks her down, and she tries to hold onto it. Trish and you look at the free speech protesters, they were there with their guitars dressed in rather hippielike clothing. They seemed rather peaceful. In contrast you had that extremely organized effort with thousands and thousands of people that gathered at Roxbury College in boston making that march down tots boston common. You really saw quite a contrast there. At least, michelle, in terms of the organization, walk us through whats really going on in terms of what the left is trying to do to mobilize. Yes, trish, this is part of the deliberate. It was announced in the days after the election and the well wellfunded left, funded by large billionaire philanthropists, right, like george soros or the borealis philanthropy or many, the tide foundation, i mean, there are reporters in conservative media who have tracked and followed the money for decades now, really. We saw it pop up first with the antiwar protests during the bush years. We saw it with the open borders lobby during the battle over amnesty. And we have seen it through the counterprotests to the truly peaceful tea party rally and leading up through the black lives matter, occupy movement, and the agitation in the the last years of the obama administration. These are not spontaneous by any means. You see that in the way their signs are so similar and so uniform, and you see the advertising for these full employment, fulltime protesters protesters. This is what they do for a living obstruct, agitate, and harass. Todd michelle, lets switch gears now to the statues. It seems like we started with statue of robert e. Lee. Now were getting into other people. Take a look well, you cant see, but our viewers can. Look at all these statues that we raise the questions, are these folks heroes or villains . Including people like teddy roosevelt, ben franklin, George Washington. I mean, where do we go from here here . We saw the Christopher Columbus statue completely defaced. Where do we go from here . Well, the antileft whitewash whitewashers of history and re rewriters of history will never be satisfied. They wont be satisfied until washington, dc, is renamed obama city and Mount Rushmore is completely demolished. This all has its roots on College Campuses, and we saw some of the movement of this in the last years, again, of the obama administration. And now it has seeped into the mainstream. And, you know, ive said for a long time, especially covering education issues, that the number one problem with government education, theyre not interested in confronting history and inculcating young generations of americans with the facts. This is an extension of the safe space and bubble mentality of academic institutions, that they want to whitewash and eliminate any kind of political dissent on classrooms, and certainly we saw that with the explosions that happened at the berkeley campus. But they would rather go the route of the taliban or the cultural revolution under mao and completely eradicate any kind of roots of the history and founding of our country, warts and all. Warts and all. Trish michelle, you know, it started with the confederate soldier statues, okay . But now somehow were talking about Christopher Columbus, were talking about George Washington, were talking about ben franklin. I mean, it doesnt even make any sense at this point. How does that start to change . What kind of dialogue do we really need to start having with the left so that they dont actually tear apart our actual history as a nation . Well, look, it means defending what our history is. And as i said, warts and all. Theres no question that there have been many sins committed against many different factions and groups of people in this nation. But you confront that. You dont ignore it; you dont tear it down. Thats what totalitarian and fascist countries do and governments do. And so, really, i havent heard a lot about this, but it goes back to elementary education. And we have a battle in those classrooms right now because the social justice warriors have hijacked federal education. It seeps down into the local classroom, and there has been a movement afoot, whether were talking about the advanced placement tests, common core, the takeover of the College Board by social justice warriors thats where it starts. And i think it means parents taking control as primary educational providers to teach their children history rather than hide history from t. Em jon in the meantime, we have a Democratic State senator in missouri, maria shapallnadal who put on her Facebook Page, the fact that she wanted, she hoped, she said, President Trump would be assassinated. Now, she later deleted that post said she didnt mean it, but thats what she put out there on facebook for the entire world to see. Your thoughts, michelle . Well, sunlight is the best disinfectant, and i think to the extent that social media has revealed the true thoughts and feelings and agenda of so many of these supposedly mainstream democrats is very helpful. And ive been tracking the phenomenon of assassination chic for years now. I have an entire chapter in a book i wrote in 2006 called un unhinged exposing liberals gone wild. I do want to make clear, of course, that not every liberal thinks this way, not every democrat thinks this way. But it is remarkable, especially in an atmosphere where weve got the politics of disavowal double standards, disavow, disavow, President Trump and every republican and every conservative pundit and public figure is always called upon to disavow every last fringe statement from rhonda people across the country. You look at what howard dean said recently, in effect that if you are voting for a republican, you are voting for a racist in the white house. We saw similar kinds of language from the dnc, from nancy pelosi, these are, as i said earlier, perhaps the worst things that you can say about anyone, and theyre throwing this language around with no sense of consequence, michelle. Yes. Thats right. I think thats what exasperates people. Whatever side theyre on, theyre sick of it. I dont want to have to turn the tv on every morning and hear the hatred from partisan, rabid partisan extremists on both sides of the aisle. So i think our children need to walk them through cause theyre looking us and watching what were doing, so lets use it as a teaching moment to teach history and not erase it. Well, the way i do it and my lifes calling is is to make history fun for kids and make it come alive, and i do that through my books, and i have talking animals that go through time and i have a new novel out about Patrick Henry and the revolutionary war, and the way i decided to do it was, you know, before they were founding fathers, they were founding children. I was like, wouldnt it be cool if children get to see our founders, Patrick Henry seven years old and watch him rise to his calling in life to serve our country and see, you know what, they failed, they had obstacles, but they could rise above that, too, to serve their nation. And so it kind of takes em down from being superheroes, that they were regular people, good, bad, and ugly, just like we. Re jon and we were blessed in this country amen, yes. I dont think its going to be a whole lot of more different than it was. Breitbarts going to be very activist, like thats a surprise surprise. Theyre on top of everything. I dont think thats going to change, but knowing steve from years ago when Andrew Breitbart introduced us, youre just going to see a guy driven. He has seen what President Trump has promised. He has seen what congress has not come through for him, and so hes going to driven to make sure that happens. But as trump goes forward, people have got to understand and nobody has said this publicly, cause they werent there, there were three of us, melania, President Trump, and i was right beside him in the break room right outside right down from Steve Scalises room the night he was shot. We have a president who has seen violence from the left. Our guys were out there with baseball bats to hit baseballs, not hit each other like antifa and, you know, the White Supremacists, the neonazis and all. People gotta understand, both of those groups are violent. They are. The president called it like it was. But when the president was trying to put a good spin on things that night, he wanted to be optimistic, wow, its been 13 14 hours since steve was shot, thats gotta be a good sign, and now that steve is doing so well and gods answered prayers, god bless him, but the doctor was ashen, and he said, look, i just know i put a lot of blood in him today and im going to be on pins and needles tonight opinion i dont know. And if he makes it through the night, im going to put a lot of blood in him tomorrow. He has seen the results of violence. He also knows, and bannon especially knows, that we have democrats on tape saying it was the Democratic Party that hired thugs to go out and start violence at Trump Campaign events. He knows there is violence on both sides. And if anybody wants to call me a racist, how many racists do you know have defended an africanamerican against the full authority of the government for murder and gotten him full acquittal at trial . Ive done that. I have defended an africanamerican on a capital murder case appeal by myself and had it overturned cause he didnt get a fair trial. Im about fairness. And fairness means doing just what the president s done, speaking out for violence on both sides, and hes going to continue. He will not be intimidated. Todd i want to get to this quote from mr. Bannon on republicans working with the president. It says if the Republican Party on capitol hill gets behind the president and his plans and not theirs, it will all be sweetness and light, be one Big Happy Family. I want a quick answer on that cause i want to get to Something Else. Do you agree with that . I think it will go a lot easier for all of us, but it means republicans have gotta get some backbone. Todd along those lines, i do want to raise this, and im going to read from my phone cause i want to make sure its accurate, a report that you told the daily caller that paul ryan told republicans to distance themselves from President Trump before election day, so obviously candidate trump at that point, to hold Hillary Clinton accountable. Yeah. That was the conversation, and i wasnt first to bring it out. Somebody had taped it. I sure didnt. I wouldnt. But somebody taped it and released the tape of our Conference Call among all republicans, and he was saying, look, our numbers show that were a lost cause, the president s a lost cause, you know, we stand with him, were going to lose, and weve gotta hold the majority so we can hold president Hillary Clinton accountable. And he had 12 people comment after that. I was one of the early ones. And 11 of the 12 went nuts. I was one of them. You want to hold president Hillary Clinton accountable . Tell me one person we have held accountable . We couldnt even impeach koskinen, and he lied to us over and over. So why you think were going to hold president Hillary Clinton accountable when we havent held her accountable yet . Thats ridiculous. You better hope and pray donald trump gets elected or youre not going to have a chance to do anything. Trish youre now in a situation where looks like the republicans have not been able to get done. Didnt get repeal and replace done. Were not clear that theyre going to get tax reform. I hope you do, because, you know what, you were sent there for a reason and america wants you to do it. But let me tell you, the way forwards not going to be easy, and i think the Justice Department needs a full investigation of the governor, of the mayor. They said in court there would be violence at charlottesville, and then the witnesses and the photographs show they herded these groups to create violence so they could brag. We need a Justice Department investigation into kesler . You dont just go all of a sudden from having multiracial roommates and a jewish girlfriend to all of a sudden being a white supremacist that wants to join the Republican Party. You saw the brightbart editor in chief who tweeted out war in all capitol letters when steve bannon announced he was leaving or the white house announced it and we saw even his quote in the Weekly Standard where he basically said that the Trump Presidency that we won and fought hard for is gone, so hes preparing for some kind of battle. This is his quote to the Washington Post. He said if the Republican Party on capitol hill gets behind the president on his plans and not theres, it will be all sweet ness and light. Thousands of protests, protester s were taking to the streets there in boston and President Trump came out and you you know youve got to give him credit on this one. He really took the high road. He came out with these tweets and we can share them with you where he said looks like many antipolice in boston, police are looking tough and smart, thank you. And then he also said i want to applaud the many protesters in boston who were speaking out against bigotry and hate. Our country will soon coming to as one. This is very important and he needs to stay on this message over and over and over again, because what were seeing right now is the left trying to paint everyone whose a conservative, everyone whose a republican, anyone whose ever supported donald trump as somehow a racist and that is dangerous stuff. Todd those tweets that you just read this is what the left democrats, many people in america wanted to see. Are you seeing president getting credit for those tweets this morning . Are you seeing getting any credit for changing the dialogue on this from quite frankly what it was following tuesday . And thats the big question at this point. If youre just waking up you might have missed conservative author and comentator mark stein who was with us earlier on the program and he says talk about this stuff, debate the issues dont just tear down the statues. Here is what he had to say. I would rather we had more speech and fewer protests, because i think the less speech you have the more violence you have and it would be a lot better if actually we had more people having more vigorous debates rather than toppling statues in the street. And my worry about this is that actually the left is making an organized attempt to say that if you do not vote democrat that youre a natzi. Thats the point of it. Trish and thats what is very dangerous. That kind of rhetoric throwing that around like theyre seeming ly doing right now is not good for the country and is completely irresponsible. One of the important distinctions that mark stein made as well is that were talking about policy differentials. The left would lick to see this redistribution of wealth, more investment in the government and the right obviously has a very different set of economic ideals. Well thats not what were talking about. Were not talking about the economy. Were not talking about jobs. We are right now talking about racial divisions and that is scary stuff and i would say weve already been there. We have been through a lot as a country and we have the history to prove it. We should be united were not a racist country and for us to get bogged down in this kind of stuff thanks to nancy pelosi, thanks to the dnc, and thanks to also other members of the Democratic Party including howard dean, thats wrong. President trump and every republican and every conservative pundit and public figure is always called upon to disavow every last statement from random people across the country. It is beyond imaginable. The entire country counting down this morning to tomorrows big Solar Eclipse set to happen tomorrow afternoon. Jon but what will the weather be like when its time to look skyward . Rick is here with a look at that interesting you just talked about that accident. A big danger is so many people driving to that path of total eclipse and a lot of places that dont have all of the firemen and First Responders to get to those areas so be very careful. This is whats happening. The moon is going between us and the sun right at the very center of that if youre on the outside its a partial eclipse. This right here is the complete path, the complete eclipse its about a 70mile stretch there but everybody in the u. S. Is getting it except far northern maine kind of the only spot that wont be seeing but you can drive 50 miles and at least see some of it. Starts out across parts of the east coast 10 18 a. M. Pacific time in oregon will be that first kind of complete eclipse for everybody it lasts for about three hours so you might have bad weather at times and get better weather. The biggest problem is across the central part of the country. Thats where we have quite a bit of cloud cover maybe even some Severe Weather so people driving out to there getting caught into Severe Weather could cause problems as well. Coastal South Carolina a lot of people going to that area i know its another really risky spot with cloud cover. If youre across parts of the four corners youll see cloud cover. Todd youve got to feel bad for the chambers of commerce planning for this for years and all of a sudden they get clouds. And then everybody driving to another spot to try to do it theres traffic jams all over some of the roads that arent prepared for it really. Might this gentleman in any way be connected to any of this . Are i believe so. I mean, i think theres an Ongoing Investigation but just look at the facts here, trish. They had access to the dnc servers. They had been working there for a decade. They had taken 4 million prior to being hired they werent even vetted properly. They could easily be spies for pakistans isi, which is like our cia or they could have been selling information to the russians and not only the russians but think about it pakistans very close relationship with the chinese, so i think that the Inspector General when they saw all of this smoke, all of this smoke around this investigation last year and turned it over for a criminal probe, i think right now the fbi and everybody else is saying well wait a minute. These people had access to some of the most classified information that our Senate Intelligence and House Intelligence Committee and Foreign Affairs committee had in side those servers. So we have to ask very specific questions. Trish i think theyre important questions to ask but were making a leap here. I think its fair to say that if they did this, he doesnt have the best moral character in that hes allegedly stealing and over billing to the tune of 4 million, so if hes willing to do anything for a buck whose to say he wouldnt be paid by some Foreign Government to actually release these emails or to steal secrets . I mean thats where it takes you , right . You wonder was there perhaps a spy in the midst of Debbie Wasserman schultzs operation . There are a lot of questions here, right . Nobody is really asking these questions by the way amazingly youll see so many leaks on the Trump Administration and lots of questions about russia, et cetera, and im not saying that some of it may not be justified. I mean if the russians interfer ed in our election thats a big problem but maybe they were somehow interfering through this guy too. I mean, shouldnt that be on the table . Whats the next step to try and get to the bottom of it . Are well absolutely. What theyre looking at, trish and i think youre absolutely right. We want to know the truth wherever that truth leads but what they are looking at is what information would send to overseas servers so what we know for sure right now according to Law Enforcement, even to some of the people that ive been speaking to sources on capitol hill and senior Law Enforcement officials is that some of the information in those servers was sent overseas and this is very very dangerous because if there was classified information in there or even personal emails between people in the senate and others that they believe that could be used for blackmale, i guarantee you that the fbi is not only going to be questioning imron a1 but questioning Debbie Wasserman schultz and other people in the senate, theyre going to try to figure out what was sent overseas and for what purposes. I think thats changing with the newman in the white house but were seeing this overflow on to the streets and its a normalization really by the left of police hatred and there is a war on cops thats very real and dangerous. Certainly we have seen an administration that is more supportive by far of our Police Forces than we saw in the last eight years, but in terms of how people on the streets feel, i mean, do you think an element of Supreme Organization to all of this designed to basically tear our country in two right now in a way that is destructive and unhealthy. Reporter well absolutely and were seeing it not only by the Mainstream Media but of course in hollywood as well and in entertainment so like when you have icons like beyonce and Colin Kaepernick speaking out regularly against police and demonstrating guess Police Officers that message has been set forth on social media in the entertainment world in pop culture and then the Mainstream Media spreads and all of a sudden Police Officers walking the streets doing their jobs feel that resentment and hate for simply doing their jobs. Its so disgusting to me and many of my friends are Police Officers and they feel it in dallas and around the country. They come to me and express it to me and the sad part is they cant say anything about it. But i can. Todd tommy if what you and trish just said is the case, what is the end goal here . Do they want no society . Do they want the american experiment to end . What do they want . Reporter well i think any time that maintaining control of the streets and maintaining law and order is seen as oppression or racial oppression, you have a big problem and i think that might be the goal. They are the protection so why this rhetoric has turned to make them the enemy thats not only for Police Officers but for the very communities they protect and i dont know what the end goal is but i would really caution folks to think about it because whose going to be there to protect them if all the Police Officers go away, if all of the Police Officers stop being proactive whose there to protect them. Thats right and youll see the governors on the left calling acrosstheboard we want these statues taken down and see ing congress and if you pushback well then youre a racist and not only that but its going to create all these debates around legislation that the people are waiting for. So you have this is the new russia and you have all of this fighting and debating going on around the statues which is just going to extend and push back the president s agenda. Its a great point john and at the same time the republican National Committee raised like 75 million in that period early july, so i do think that while everyone is focused on the gop not getting anything donor getting just executive orders done, at the same time, america is waiting for tax reform. Theyre waiting for new legislation to take the country forward and i think in 2018, it comes back to bite the democrats , even though Congress Better get together and get something done.
