bowl sunday? it's a different debate. i thought we were going to start with college and update you on what happened last night as expected, mitt romney won nevada. >> let's he go live to las vegas this morning for our own casey stegall is standing by with the latest on this and people are probably aassume having parties and were you up there late on the strip tallying up the results. >> it's nighttime, they're still out. >> yeah, they're still out at 3 a.m. here in las vegas and got to love being live on the strip as all of the drunks are spilling out of the casinos. no rell surprises as you talked about, mitt romney was projected to easily sweep the state as he did yesterday. conflicting reports about the voter turnout and the state g.o.p. chair is telling us they expect more people to come out to caucus than they did in 2008. and a little more than 44,000 people who came out in 2008. but we're hearing about dismal attendance in some areas, particularly up in reno where 6700 voters showed up, down from the 11 to 14,000 who turned out in '08. ap martin county, includes las vegas, is down and many are blaming a confusing process for the lower than expected turnout and then there is this, a raucous a caucus, yes, tempers flaring at the special sundown caucus for observant jews who would not break the sabbath. and some would-be attendees were upset. were upset for being required to affirm their religious beliefs and no one was hurt or anything. ron paul easily winning that special sundown caucus although he came in third in the overall race and i know you guys are going to break down the numbers and have reaction from all the candidates right after this report. >> alisyn: all right. casey, thanks so much for the update. you can hit a buffet now. >> dave: buffet, baby. >> alisyn: and let's talk about it, so, romney, by the way, correct me if i'm wrong, only 25% of the precincts so far and-- and this is not in. 6 a.m. eastern time. >> alisyn: there was a change and as santorum learned in iowa sometimes things change. >> dave: this is by far the biggest county in nevada, bar far. the number is not in. second place could change. >> clayton: yeah, right now that second place is newt gingrich at 26 and ron paul at 8%. >> alisyn: rick santorum, 13%. >> clayton: she could shift. 45% of the precincts at this hour and remember they closed did clark county and the folks went to sleep not up tallying the votes in clark county and that's interesting, the largest counties haven't been able to report in with the numbers. >> alisyn: they think that accounts for half of the votes. let's list them. mitt romney is the predicted winner and took to the podium to give his victory, let's listen. >> what defines us as americans is our convictions that things must be better. that conviction guides this campaign. it's rallied millions of americans to our cause, including tens of thousands of nevadaens who gave me their support today and i thank them. like high school colleagues and the fact who think they know better, president obama demonizing and denigrates almost every section of our economy. i'll make it for entrepreneur, innovators, unlike other people running for president, i know just how to do that. if i'm elected president, my priority will be worrying about your job, not saving my own. >> clayton: look at the numbers with 45% of the precincts. romney, a resounding win for him across the board. it wasn't as high as 2008 and john mccain of course, third in nevada in 2008. ron paul beat john mccain we know how the nomination ended up. wondering, where does newt go from here. and by all accounts, he's had a bad week. snafus and the. >> dave: failed photo op with the governor. >> clayton: right, the trump endorsement somewhere. leaked out he was getting the endorsement. >> dave: i think it got more bizarre, when instead of giving the disaster loss in nevada and decided to hold a press conference, granted middle of the night on the east coast. even in nevada around midnight. a press conference going back and forth with campaign reporters, which is not what we come to expect. here is some of what he said. >> primary kay, caucus day, the romney headquarters in boston sends out the rumor they believe i'll withdraw. and i'm not going to withdraw. we got together for a practical reason, i was surprised by the degree to which establishment has closed ranks and made quite clear they're desperate over the prospect of a gingrich presidency. >> alisyn: well, he said he's not going anywhere, as you heard. in fact, the upcoming caucuses and primaries will be interesting. minnesota coming up, that's not a loss and not a loss for romney. >> as is michigan, as is arizona. >> alisyn: minnesota is one of the wild cards, that evangelicals, and newt gingrich could do well him. >> dave: a wild card by definition. you think it's interested that newt gingrich mentioned the high mormon population in nevada. that is unlike more presidential candidates and to be clear, 25% is big in nevada of the electorate. and take it out and mitt romney had a decisive win almost 20 points without the mormons. >> clayton: and sick santorum, could finish fourth in nevada and focused all in for missouri and basically his big focus and says he's in there. that's not on the map. no delegates are in missouri. it it could be a beauty contest between he and mitt romney because newt gingrich isn't on the ballot there. even though the delegates don't count. could be the first time provings he' the anti-romney. if he's still sticking with it. >> barack obama will destroy and pick each one of them apart. he'll pick apart someone that he doesn't care the very core. what person running for bubble office would say he doesn't care about the very poor. i'd be critical of barack obama for only 99%, our candidates' for less, how about a candidate who is for 100% of the people. >> in fact, i'm the person who's best able to win the election and i've said from the beginning. he's someone who doesn't throw away some of the biggest issues of the campaign, health care, cap and trade, all of those issues are on the table. mitt romney as the romney, doesn't afford to have one, two hands behind their backs. >> he went right from nevada to colorado and had to change, presto chango and went from colorado to i think, minnesota, where he is this morning and going to a church service, i thought he was going to be paying a visit today to the sweater vest factory. >> clayton: that was yesterday. >> alisyn: this guy can go from one thing to another. >> clayton: let's take a look at some of this last night. how the folks in nevada voted. and it isn't a big number who vote bud, many, many more in the caucus, what were the big strengths going in for mitt romney. can he beat president obama? overwhelmingly 73% of the folks there said he could. >> the electability. >> and the economy voters, obviously, they're north of 12% unemployment, nevada 58. some of the homes underwater and nine out of ten mormons did vote for mitt romney in that state, but he still would have won decisively without them voting at all. what was most interesting to see how he fared with very conservative voters and mitt romney again comes out op top and also did well with the tea party voters. >> alisyn: and i also want to say entrance polls, talked about, they're different than before the caucus. and other than going to the polling booth, their arm can be twisted in a caucus. what you say going in, it can change with pressure from some of the-- >> that's the whole point of the caucus, and you're there for-- and all the time in iowa they go in one notion and come out with a different notion, do that all the time. and interesting to hit the very conservative entrance poll and this is interesting for me, who is the true conservative. and romney came in last, in fourth place with 5%. ron paul came out on top as the true conservative and that had to hurt rick santorum a little bit. >> alisyn: absolutely. another interesting constituency. family income under $30,000, and that's considered under the poverty level and nevada has the highest unemployment in the country. with those voters, ron paul wins and romney who, as you know, a hard time because he said he wasn't concerned about the poorest of the poor this we week. >> dave: will that hurt mitt romney and didn't hurt him overall. independent voters paul does very well, and win the general. there is seemingly a little bit of an alliance between ron paul and mitt romney and an interesting article and even this week, ron paul came out and defended the very poor comments there's a bizarre alliance, not a whole lot of shots fired between those two candidates. >> clayton: how toss that shake out. interestingly, if you look at the road ahead, trouble for gingri gingrich, a lot of these come in as a lock. who comes in second place. ron paul heads to maine which lasts for a week, last saturday. >> alisyn: wow. >> clayton: with a whole week long caucus and people get to change their mind and they could do well there and minnesota, take a listen. >> it's a burn take all. makes more sense to go to nevada, maine, minnesota, because energized people. people who believe in things and are willing to work hard, the rewards are much better and that of course is what we have. we have a very energy fwiizener dedicated, group of people who are willing to invest their time in doing so. >> it just gets more and more interesting. >> yeah. >> and the number of delegates, that mitt romney collected is so minimal. that-- >> the total doled out 6, 7%. the total north of 1200. >> and that's a big deal. >> the southern states could be really strong for newt gingrich. >> alisyn: that's what he's banking on. let's get to your headlines. we start with a deadly car bombing in southern afghanistan. at least five police officers and two civilians have been killed, it happened outside of kandahar, appears the bomb was in a parked car and remotely detonated. the last year was the deadliest for civilians in the afghan war, more than 3000 people died. it's enough to make you sea sick, more than 260 a passengers scramened to take off and that was the same port with the concordia. this collision caused by a violent snowstorm. they said they heard the loud roar, the crew told hem to return to their cabin, if that sounds familiar, that's the same thing as the concordia. and the passengers were evacuated and no one was injured in this crash. it started out peaceful and then occupy protesters, got ugly. hit an officer in the face with a brick and they moved in to clear away camping gear they say is banned under parng rules and 87 people arrested. about 70 occupy wall street protesters got raudy burning an american flag and the protests last week, tear gas, hundreds were arrested and city hall broken into as well. the new york city teacher fired for her facebook post can go back to work. a judge overruled the decision to remove christine for this comment she wrote. after today i'm seeking the beach, sounds like a wonderful idea for my fifth graders. i hate their guts. they are all devils spawn. a harlem girl drown on the trip to the beach. and the judge says the remarks were repulsive and didn't mean harm. and she was back in the classroom. >> dave: and the dome. >> a lot of people make fun of the weatherman doing the super bowl forecast. >> you have to. >> getting in and out of there, 144,000 people. >> people partying around it and furthermore, they have one air traffic control tore at the airport, right. >> except i'm assuming everybody's already there, not too much of an issue. but, yeah, very nice there. take a look at the maps and a really big storm was out across parts of colorado and nebraska and it's moving out this morning across the coast and showers today across texas and all the way back towards florida. and temperatures that are continuing across the north and the east. yesterday, we didn't get any pictures in, but if you have any pictures from colorado, nebraska and the snow you received there, send this to me. rick reichmuth on twitter and show some of those throughout the morning. here's the temps as you're waking up. still warm across the southeast, far northern maine in caribou, that's it. a look at the satellite radar picture and what you see in pennsylvania and d.c., most not reaching the ground and it will be light and that's what's left of that snowstorm, and take a look at the video out of nebraska though and we had heavy snow and over 90 inches in the omaha area and areas farther to the west, got up to 20 inches and omaha, the biggest snow of the season and you want those if you can, and it's good to get the snow on the crops. and they need it. a beautiful day if you like to see those kind of scenes. very heavy snow today and a little bit of rain towards texas and into florida and the west coast you're looking good and rain moving into california by tuesday. alisyn, we'll send it over to you. >> alisyn: thanks so much, rick. let's talk about what women want. women could be the deciding factor in the g.o.p. race. a recent gallup poll show nearly 30% of women support mitt romney and newt gingrich close behind about 25% and rick santorum and how will the defail vote shake up the republican race? let's ask a fox news contributor and former white house aide to president george w. bush, peter hoover and gretchen happen mill. ladies, thanks for being here. >> thanks for having us. >> alisyn: the age old question, what do women want? what did republican women vote hers, what are they looking for this this race? >> well, not newt gingrich and i think he must have watched the little rascals because they had a he-man woman haters clun and i think he's a life long member and he's send all of these that are negative and remember in the debates, he very disrespectful to michele bachmann and then, you know, the marriages and the mistress, and what people don't want to say it out loud, but that bothers women. >> alisyn: you say that, however, in south carolina, margaret he won the women's vote 36%, and i think the closest to him was mitt romney at 30%. so obviously, south carolina women feel differently. >> some women like him and some don't. women split the vote in new hampshire, iowa and came in for mitt romney, and same last night. what's important, republicans we don't to identity politics nearly as well as the democrats do. for g.o.p. women, all issues are women's issues, women want jobs, the economy to come back and all the things that men want and maybe we have our own spin on this, but i don't think-- yes, women are going to make a difference at the polls, but no candidate needs to come out and have like identity politics message for women because we want the same thing. >> alisyn: you don't want the pandering women. and gretchen, bring you in and would it help newt gingrich with women if he were to use his wife calista more on the stump? i think it could help. it would show a different side of him. right now he comes off very kind of rough around the edges. to bring her out and talk on his behalf. >> alisyn: i see you shaking your head. >> remember in the debate. said what do you think about your wife, do you think she'd be a good first lady and newt gingrich said i don't think anyone is any better than the other. how awful is that? and mitt romney is wonderful to include ann romney and make her a big star. the florida women were smart and i think the women needed to have to kind of get what newt gingrich is about which is why he lost miserably in florida and featured ann romney and just stands there and watches. and to give gingrich credit he said she gives to the arts and plays the french horn. >> i think that the romney super pac is so effective at challenge newt's baggage and his two affairs and everybody knows that calista had a-- >> and complicated. >> and i think that marriage was already there and i think he can use calista the same way that ann romney-- >> i would disagree with that. >> alisyn: go ahead. weigh in. >> i disagree with that, i think a lot of people believe in forgiveness, and i think to get her out there and for her to talk about his policies, and the newt that she knows and the newt that she knows to care about so many different issues would show a different side than the side we saw last night at the press conference would i could be appealing. and women split equally in so many of the states. we know they don't hold the affair against them in large margins. >> yes, they do, i'm sorry. >> well, they did in florida and nevada. >> not only that gretchen, it was an abuse of power. it was a staffer and he was frying bill clinton for doing the same thing. >> you're taking into consideration the majority of these women are going to pay close enough attention to know that. >> and the only way they pay-- >> well, what do you do. >> alisyn: we'll end on this, women, 70 million women voted in 2008 are women as engaged this time around? >> women will be as engaged and i'm so glad you mentioned the general election vote, entirely than the g.o.p. vote. we're talking wal-mart moms, they're trying to ( seth ) wouldn't you like to know ? something sparkly ? maybe. something sweet ? mmm... let's just say it's a surprise. the helzberg diamonds gift box. diamond heart pendant and godiva chocolate gems. i love you. you do ? . >> clayton: iment welcome back. the pressure is mounting between the u.s. and iran. >> dave: top intelligence officials warning that iran could he potentially launch terrorist attacks here in the united states. so, how real is that threat? joining us now is retired four star general and fox news military analyst jack keane. good morning to you, general. >> good morning, great to be here. >> dave: spoke to a former cia agent, former guard, and said it's a real threat that iran attack the united states from within our borders, how real is that threat and what do we do about it? >> the fact of the matter is, the iranians attacked us for 30 years using proxies, and none of that should be a surprise. particularly after the bungled attack to kill the saudi ambassador in d.c. and the israelis in particular attack the iranians, they have choices to make, whether they'll attack us in terms. targets in the region ie in baghdad or in afghanistan or conduct terrorist attacks against us, in the region or in the united states. and the latter is the most likely, terrorist attacks. >> as for that, that attack that was potential that was mentioned in "the washington post" and israel bombing the nuclear sites in iran. does the united states in your sense support that and could it be successful in knocking out the nuclear program? >> well, first of all, the united states is trying to israelis not to do it. what the united states policy makers want to do is increase the economic sanctions on the iranians, so they voluntarily stopped the nuclear program short of the a conventional attack by the israelis. we haven't gotten tough enough with the sanctions, we need crippling economic sanctions and combined with covert operations to change the iranian's behavior about the nuclear weapons. if the israelis do attack, then, obviously, all bets are off. and the israelis, the iranians were accused of having aided them in that attack and have to make a decision what they're going to do in terms of the united states and the actions they're' going to take against us. another front news this week, that the withdrawal from afghanistan could begin earlier than we thought. in 2013. according to leon panetta, you just returned from afghanistan, an extensive trip. with that in mind, what you saw there, is this realistic, if we would draw in 2013, are we likely to lose our gains or can it still be successful? >> the commandners afghanistan are executing a campaign plan which secretary panetta has approved and the fact of the matter is, we will need to continue through the 2013. into 2014 fighting season to kind of get the objective that we want. we've made extraordinary success in kandahar province and hellman province in the south and now we're using resources east of kabul, to deal with the haqqani network and the mountainous terrain and turned the momentum to our favor, but we need two more fighting seasons to complete that mission and turn it over to the security forces. >> two more, so through the 2014 fighting season and that's interesting. what's your biggest take away from your trip there to afghanistan? >> well, the biggest one is the concern about the u.s. commitment, in terms of the enduring u.s. commitment. how serious are we seeing this through? you have doubts about it in the afghan government, in the afghan military leadership, you have doubts about it in our own leadership and also in the international community, that's in afghanistan. our four star general jack keane, always a pleasure. >> take care. >> dave: remember when mitt romney said this? >> i'm not concerned about the very poor, we have a safety net there, and if it needs repair i'll fix it. >> dave: certainly do, he's saying he misspokes, the next guest says he needs to be listening to the words of ronned reagan if he wants to be president and we know that having an ad aired during the super bowl will cost big bucks, almost 4 million. who drops the most cash to get their name known? we'll tell you next. ♪ [ male announcer ] montgomery and abiil haggins had a tree that bore the most rare and magical fruit, which provided for their every financial need. (cheers) >> and i'm sorry after every one of these, will the field be winnowed, it doesn't look like it will. all the candidates say they're still in it. >> newt gingrich says specifically he has a map and a couple of interesting pieces talking about his road map going forward and having to talk to conservatives about this thing. and the southern states, look at georgia, which actually has more delegates than florida after the results of them being penalized of course by moving up the primary so early and georgia, do well in georgia and oklahoma some of the other states which doesn't happen until february, i'm sorry, march when super tuesday arrives. >> dave: and did he mention numerous times, texas, not until early april. and clearly newt gingrich and rick santorum not anywhere. >> i'm a candidate for the president of the united states. i will be a candidate president for the united states. we will go to tampa and we have over 160,000 donors, 97% of those given less than $230. and we have an obligation to stand up for their values and concerns and reason they've got involved. >> you have an opportunity to stand up here in colorado and reset this race. to give us a chance. we're not going to win this election, if either of these two people are nominated let me assure we won't win. >> the question, how long can santorum stay in. he's finished third in every state since iowa and fourth place here, 45% of the precincts reporting. should he get out of this thing, maybe not. because look what he's going to do in missouri. he'll go against mitt romney, even though no delegates are up. it could be a brilliant play. because there will be those two faced off, he could be anti-romney on that contest and a lot of people are going to vote in missouri, in fact, more than in nevada. >> alisyn: here is great evidence for him to stay in the race and the new rasmussen poll for the first time in this entire primary season, rick santorum, bests president obama and you can see still within the margin of airer, and rick santorum, 45% against president obama. >> that was a shock and i believe better than head to head with romney. >> and i assume that was part of that poll and let's see if we can get that for the folks, and report that go the gingrich campaign, $600,000 in debt right now. and sheldon adelson, the guy who bank rolls his super pac says he's open to giving a lot of money to mitt romney if he's the nominee. the biggest question for newt. not the southern states, but does he have the money to keep going and compete and continue to air ads? we know the romney campaign is loaded. >> right, and he's recently sat down and met with more fund raise e, after an afternoon of meetings. so, we shall see what happens with that and let's get to the rest of your headlines and more to talk about other than politics, because the car bomb attack, killed at least five police officers and two civilians outside of police headquarters in afghanistan. and this happened in the southern city of kandahar, at least 21 people are also injured. and it appears the bomb was in a parked car and remotely detonated. and the explosion was strong enough to shatter of windows of nearby buildings. no one claimed responsibility for that attack. >> and talk about a close call. and fearing a repeat of the costa concordia disaster, more than 260 passengers escaped this ferry after it smashed into a jetty near rome. this happened during a snowstorm outside of rome and talk about deja vu. those on board said the crew told them to return to their cabins right after this he heard the loud bang and those are the same failed instructions given to people on the costa concordia. fortunately in this case, everyone survived. >> she's accused of refusing to do her job and help a dying pregnant woman and that's not preventing a new york city emt from collecting a paycheck. the new york post is reporting that melissa jackson raised 39,000 a year from the the city waiting to go to trial for this case, and jackson and another emt workers are accused of standing by in uniform and on duty while a pregnant woman suffered an asthma attack, that woman later died. officials say that jackson is on restricted duty until the court decision. apparently air bags not only save lives on the road. they're life savers in an avalanche. check out the video, a professional snow boarder gets caught in a class 3 avalanche, my goodness ncolorado. and she's crediting the air bag backpack, that orange thing on her back for saving her life. she says, the back country access float is what it's called, basically helps you to just float on top of the snow. and that's incredible. the technology. >> wow. >> never heard of that. >> me either, but i need one. >> you need one here in manhattan. here in the set, if anything goes wrong. avalanche or paper sometimes. >> and head over to rick reichmuth, a check of the weather and snow all melting, i guess, probably in colorado by now. >> no, considerably cold for the next few days. you know, a lot of the back country travelers, adventures, really, in colorado, dave, now this they have to do things like that, they're prepared because avalanches happen a lot in the back country ventures and they're really, really dangerous, very cool to see that. that big storm has moved to the east and not so big anymore and it's almost done. and showers, associated with the cold front from it, and texas to florida for the day today and the warm temps are continuing across the north and the east, at least warmer than we should be for this time of year. so, enjoy that. this is what's left of the storm, pulling off across parts of the mid atlantic state and it's a weakened state and down across the coastal areas of texas. take a look at pictures of college station, texas area where texas a & m is, they saw over six inches of rain in about a 12 hour period from the storm and caused incredible flooding right there in that city. this was the night before last. so, they certainly need to get this rain in texas, but you're getting it so much so quickly, very big problems. eastern and western part of the country right now. looking nice, from seattle to l.a. or san diego. and that will be the next weather maker. >> and right now the storms we're dealing with, the next couple of days, continues to taper off and see some showers down in florida the next couple of days and all right, guys, back to you. >> alisyn: so the wall street journal has a funny column on 21 ways to survive a super bowl party, it's written by a writer, jason guy and the first thing he says, it's very rude to ask the host about the tv situation. i everybody does. hey, man, do you have a wide screen tv. what's your tv like? reported. though, clark county, the most densely populated part of the state. a lot of those votes are retallied, not because of questions raised, but just to make sure at that time the vote is in fact, indeed, accurate. and 70% of the vote, again, coming in and being reported and really, no surprises, mitt romney easily walking away from this thing with 47% of the vote. over newt gingrich's 22% as of the very latest figures and ron paul faring quite well, giving speaker gingrich a run for his money right now with about 18 1/2% of the vote. and rick santorum. with 11% and speaking of ron paul's texas congressman causing a stir by the way at a special sundown caucus, intepid heed for jews who could not get out and vote with everyone else yesterday morning because of the sabbath. many attending that event for religious regions say that ron paul followers showed up because they missed their own caucus earlier in the day and paul cruising to a victim in that special sundown event and the heels, by the way of the nevada election, listen to this, a florida man has filed a lawsuit against newt gingrich, and his security team, claiming that he was roughed up, for simply supporting another candidate. edward dill are says he waside n a member of gingrich's security detail stepped on his toes because he was wearing a ron paul t-shirt. no comment on that yet, by the way, from newt gingrich's camp, guys. >> clayton: interesting, that's interesting, great information there, casey stegall reporting for us. and 70% of the tally is in and they're retallying in las vegas the largest joining us now with a fair and balanced debate is the ceo and president of concerned women for america, and jehmu green, fox news contributor. thanks for being here. penny, let me start with you. susan g komen had withdrawn its contributions from planned parenthood, but after all sorts of hue and cry over twitter and facebook reversed their decision. what's the take away from this whole episode? medical association says in some cases, it is justified. and quoted severe instances of childhood obesity, removal from the home maybe justifiable from a legal standpoint because of imminent health risks and the parent's chronic failures to address medical concerns. that was from a harvard affiliated children's hospital boston doctor and this was no slouch. a well respected doctor. is this fair? for a fair and balanced debate we're joined by a family attorney and this is a heated issue and talking about 16.9% of kids in the country are obese, two million kids. that's extremely obese, should they be pulled out of the home and taken from their parents, absolutely not. a horrible idea. this is' more to the west interest of the children equation than just the body mass and number on the scale. if you say to little billy, say, your parents are fat and take you away from them and give to you new and better parents for a while? that's a horrendous affect on the psyche of the child. forget about the weight and we can mix that, a the lot harder to fix the emotional damage, joey than what comes along with that. >> i understand her passion and outrage. but the paint is that this is a crisis of epidemic proportions and we're talking about 2 million people in the united states, children, who are extremely obese. what does obesity leads to. a number of problems and also let's bring this debate. we're not talking about stripping people, children out of their homes, we're talking about in extreme circumstances where the parent has actively disregarded advice where they're not doing anything to make-- >> where do they draw the line, you made the point there are 2 million kids, you can't take the kids away from their parents. >> where you draw the line in the event you have a child who is 440 pounds and 14 years old, that's an issue and then you have a child that is 555 pounds, 14, 16 years old. that's a problem and needs to be addressed. needs to be addressed immediately. this is an idea. >> but they didn't turn into 500 pounds teenagers overnight. that's not one donut. it's a thousand donuts. ample opportunity when the child is gaining weight. >> dave: what's to be done? if we shouldn't take them out of the home, should they get the surgery that's frightening. in the parents won't listen. what do you do. >> i think the surgery again is a last resort. we have to have the teachers, we have to have the schools, we have to have better education for the parents ap the kids and availability of better choices, in the example. >> that i agree with. john, i agree 100%, but the event that the parents are not aveiling themselves. children are eating what parents are bringing home. if the parents aren't bringing carrots home. >> what the parents can afford to bring home. >> only in extreme circumstances, but in the event that we're facing children who are dying. the government needs to intervene. >> there was a sliver of agreement and defense secretary leon panetta trying to tell europe there's no reason to be worried about this. they were at a security conference in munich and says that europe remains america's partner. and panetta calling europe, the choice for military operations and diplomacy and urged europe to get its financial crisis fixed and stop cutting its own military budget. forget the free ride. pennsylvania officials rolling out a new program to make sure that people on welfare are clean and sober. this is how is works. instead of mandating, drug testing. they plan to randomly test, lawmakers in favor of the program say that this is way overdue, as they try to cut rising costs in the state, but according to plans, the tests are unfair and inefficient use of taxpayer money. and well, a family missing in oregon for almost a week, has been found alive. belinda and daniel conty and their con michael got lost while apparently looking for mushrooms, they had no food or water with them and they took a shelter. they took shelter in a hallowed out tree on the 6th day of searching a rescue helicopter spotted them in a clearance and those are the videos right now of the family being airlifted to safety (bike bell) >> alisyn: good morning, it is sunday, february 5th, i'm alisyn camerota. it's a super bowl sunday. and mitt romney is already celebrating a victory, his own, the presidential candidate winning the nevada caucus an newt gingrich hayes warning for the republican front-runner. >> dave: and caught in an avalanche, a snow boarder alive and well, all thanks to an air bag. the incredible story, video ahead. >> clayton: the biggest day in sports. as the new york giants and new england patriots battle for one of the most coveted trophies in all of sports-dom is that a word. >> alisyn: you have your qualifier." one of the most." >> clayton: we are live from indianapolis on this super sunday, wings, popcorn and lots of calories in the studio. fox and friend, hour 4, starts, right now. right now. ♪ captioning by, closed captioning services, inc. >> clayton: before we talk super bowl we have to talk about this. nevada, 71% of the precincts, now reporting, we are waiting on clark county and las vegas and mitt romney the big winner there, last night, late last night, the big winner, 48% of the vote there, in the nevada cauc caucuses. >> alisyn: and newt gingrich was 23% and ron paul is gaining with 19% and could overtake newt gingrich when las vegas finally gives their numbers. >> dave: if. >> alisyn: and rick santorum, fourth place with 11%. a late night there and it is still going on and in fact the next hour we may have new numbers. >> dave: mitt romney going up and newt gingrich down a little and we'll look inside the polls to find out what types of voters went for mitt romney and, that will surprise you. but, first, we'll get to casey steegel, who is at the craps table, the buffet and now live with us for the latest on the poll results. >> reporter: good morning, i've hit all of 0 these between the live shots update -- kidding, we're checking on the latest poll numbers, as woo know, we have been live with you on the air the last several horse the numbers have been drastically changing as more precincts have been reporting across the state. we are, however, as you said, waiting on the majority of clark county, which is the most densely populated part of the state. obviously, home to las vegas, as you said, no real surprises. mitt romney with 48% of the vote, at this point. and, 23%, going to former speaker of the house, newt gingrich. ron paul faring quite well and in fact there is some speculation he might come in second here and now is at 3rd with 19% of the vote. voter turnout was fairly low, lower than numbers in 2008, regardless of what the state g.o.p. is saying. now, on the heels of the nevada election, other news to tell you about, a florida man, yes, he has filed a lawsuit, against newt gingrich, and his security team, claiming that he was roughed-up for supporting another candidate. this man, edward dillard, said that he was standing outside of his polling place in florida on tuesday and a member of newt gingrich's security detail stepped on his foot. why? because he was wearing a ron paul t-shirt according to the court documents. no comments so far, from newt gingrich's campaign on that. he is suing, guys, for somewhere in the neighborhood of $70,000. >> alisyn: for stepping on their toes, right. >> dave: costly stubbed toe. >> clayton: and he doesn't even have alisyn's high heels. which she does on a regular basis. >> alisyn: thanks, so much. >> dave: let us know if we get clark county results. >> alisyn: that would be good. mitt romney won two in a row, nevada and florida, and nevada had 28 delegates up for grabs and split it proportionately depending on how many votes come in. here's mitt romney on his victory and how he is different from president obama. >> our vision for the future could not be more different than his. president obama will grow government and amass more trillion-dollar deficits. i will not just slow the growth of government, i'll cut it and will not -- [cheers and applause]. >> i will not just freeze government's share of the total economy, i will reduce it and, without raising taxes, a will finally balance the american budget. some say $600,000 in debt and, sheldon a sheldon adelson, who he will be giving money to... >> reporter: he has been funding anti-romney ads, and he has been funding the anti-mitt romney ads and, basically said he would be opening to supporting mitt romney. >> dave: the king of bain capital arguably was funded by mr. adelson. >> alisyn: it makes strange bedfellows. what other news is happening outside of politics, at least 7 people are dead after a car bomb attack in afghanistan. it happened outside of the police headquarters in kandahar, at least 5 police officers are among those killed. 21 other people are injured. it appears the bomb was in a parked car, and was remotely detonated. the explosion was strong enough to shatter the windows of nearby buildings. no one claimed responsibility for the attack. a close call, fearing a repeat of the costa concordia disaster, more than 260 passengers frantically fled the ferry, after it smashed into a jetty near rome and happened during a rare snowstorm there. those on board said the crew told them to return to their cabins after they heard the loud crash and the same failed instructions given to people on the costa concordia last month but, in this case, everyone survived. iran is releasing a video of the revolutionary guard conducting military exercises and the country announced yesterday it would begin month-low exercises. the country's supreme leader recently warned the u.s. and israel about possible attacks on tehran's nuclear facilities. the u.s. and its allies insist the country is producing nuclear weapons. iran claims it is only for peaceful purposes. david beckham and the trouble he's in. >> dave: kicked out of the soccer game. it may not be hard to believe when you consider that he has been kicked out of games before but where was he? >> yeah, i've given up my hope for ambassadorship to the moon. that is not coming through now. you know, i had a private little conversation with sean hannity on his radio show, with 20 million listeners and i told him i had gone to a fundraiser a couple of weeks ago with -- for mitt romney and we were about to leave and i said, i want to say one thing to him, so his advisors took me around back and i said, you owe me, and you better be as right wing a president as i'm telling everyone you are going to be and i had advice on vice presidents. and guess who? >> alisyn: he owes you, you have been talking him up and saying he's the only person who can beat president obama in your mind. chris christie? >> yes. >> alisyn: he's not conservative enough. >> i'm at least the first and i think he'll come around to my perspective but i'm by far the first march heir right winger solidly in his camp. >> clayton: and the one doing the research, in fact he cited and quoted some of your research that you wrote in a column, during one of the debate performances, did he not. >> i go the extra mile with my anti-newt research and mention of reagan which is driving me crazy, and i looked at ronald reagan's autobiography and he is not mentioned and, jack kemp is mentioned a million times and i went to the longer reagan diary, he kept a daily page by page and writes a few words, a few sentences and newt gingrich is mentioned one time and clearly ronald reagan had no idea who he was and a congressman named newt gingrich and, then... >> clayton: he said they passed -- mitt romney passed the torch to newt gingrich. i think, push back on a lot of that. >> i don't think so. a, he retracted that and, b, these are nice things you say to politicians. >> dave: you somehow do support romney-care, a surprise to a lot of people. look, i mean, it is a surprise to to a lot of people and newt gingrich said there wouldn't be obamacare if there weren't romney care. >> it is exactly the opposite. if more, say had done what romney care did there would be no obamacare, the main points of the column, i highly recommend it, it is just this week on anncoulter.com and a million other web sites, and the basic point is, health care was wrecked by congress, wrecked from the federal government, by the time mitt romney came along and all the governors, in 2007, when romney care passed, almost 50% of all health care expenditures in the country are already paid for by the federal government. >> alisyn: but you like an individual mandate, like, by dint of being born someone must take out insurance coverage or get a fine. >> well, i'm more in the ron paul camp, i'd let them die on the streets. but, the point is, and i quote this libertarian back in 2004, saying this is the libertarian free market solution, the least of obamacare's problems they're individual mandate. the reason we're all talking about it is, that is the constitutional hook, because, it is unconstitutional for the federal government to do that. it's not unconstitutional for a state to do that. >> clayton: will he be able to answer the question? >> what are they thinking? >> clayton: what are they thinking, religion contributor, now that he has had popcorn, father jonathan morris joins to us talk about. what are they thinking. >> it is important not to blow it out of proportion, i heard commentary it is vanderbilt university violating the constitution, violating the first amendment of religious liberty. i don't think that is the case. why? because it is a private university and if they decide they are not going to allow certain religious groups for example, we need to respect the fact they are a private university but what they are saying, is the problem, the good students are standing up for, they are saying we want religious groups, but, don't be too religious. don't have in your bylaws a requirement that the person of your group needs to actually believe what your group is standing for. >> alisyn: however, the school says there is a simple solution. don't elect someone who doesn't share your religious beliefs, be a leader of your group. >> it probably will not 457. i was in student government in college and we would always encourage groups in their bylaws to be very specific as a way to continue the identity of that group, from one year to the next. and, part of that is putting stipulations, about what the leadership should be like. for example, a chess club should make sure their leaders are proficient in chess. and, if a chess club wants to put in their bylaws their leaders should have won three national tournaments for example. that is a great way to make sure that that club maintains its identity. likewise, a baptist group should be able to put in there, our leader should actually believe with the baptists. >> dave: you say don't blow it out of proportion. i want to ask you, quickly, before we go, are we blowing out of proportion the president's comments, justifying higher taxes on the rich by saying, for unto whom much is given, much shall be required? [ laughs ] [ male announcer ] ask your doctor if chantix is right for you. >> clayton: now, back in 2010, a high school cross-country runner crawled across the finish line on her hands and knees. helping her team secure a spot in the state championship. since then her finish has become an inspiration in the new york giants' locker room, ahead of their super bowl play, today. we're joined by 17-year-old holland reynolds, whom you just saw in the video. nice to see you this morning, holland. >> nice to see you, too. >> clayton: before we get to the giant, what were we looking at? a 5k race, what happened before the finish line? >> well, i was in second place, basically, the entire race, and, up until 800 meters to go, a half mile left, my legs started feeling heavier than hey ever had before and i ended up doing a sort of zombie walk, as you can see, going into the finish line, and, collapsed right before the finish line. >> clayton: your legs filled with lactic acid, breathing was labored. you were freezing, because of hypothermia and you also felt compelled to get up and cross the finish line for your coach, who contracted lou gehrig's disease, was diagnosed. what were you thinking as you were laying there, slumped before the finish line? >> all i knew is that my team and i really wanted to win for my coach and we believed it to be his last season and wanted to make the last season a great one and by winning, we'd have the most state championships in all of california. so, that was my goal. and all i wanted to do is cross the finish line. >> clayton: unbelievable and you managed to pick yourself up and get across the finish line and now we learn the new york giants and tom coughlin have used the video in the new york giants' locker room, an inspiration across their own finish line and, to get into the super bowl and get a victory. what did you think when you heard that? >> honestly i thought it was crazy. i never thought that this story would actually inspire professional athletes. i knew when this story went viral, a couple of years ago, it was strange, to me it was a national story and i never thought other athletes would actually be inspired by me. so i was just flattered. >> clayton: really touching, too, and more amazingly, perhaps, the fact that you are from san francisco and you are a 49ers fan. and when you learned the giants -- sorry about your 49ers, but how did that sit with you? >> it was funny. actually, some of my friends were teasing me that i was the reason that the 49ers lost. >> clayton: there you go. that is good. now you have to be pulling for the giants in the super bowl, is that right. >> yes, i'm rooting for them. >> clayton: all right, we want to make sure we get in the plug for you. because this is, i now special to you and of course, to our viewers this morning, you can understand what scompelled you o get across the finish line and jim tracy is the coach and anyone who wants to send in donations to the jim acrossy special needs trust, do that with the address on the screen and we'll make sure it is up on our web site at foxnews.com if anyone wasn't quick enough with a pen to write it down, holland, thanks for joining us and enjoy the super bowl. >> thank you, you, too. >> clayton: thank you. more "fox & friends" in two minutes.
