>> it seemed like the same old scapegoating and distraction, rather than focusing on the issue of our day, creating jobs, the number one priority of the naacp is passing the american jobs act. 1.9 million more jobs to our economy and rather that that, the scapegoating that burden is placed on welfare and african-americans are the culprit and the fact that he said this in iowa where only 9% of food stamps are taken to american-- >> and it was to newt gingrich's point that jobs are better than food stamps and let's face it, there are huge chunks are the african-american community that don't have jobs. are they happy with how president obama has handle them? >> of course not. i think there's much more that congress can do. i think much more than the business community can do, but at the end of the day i think the former speaker made a huge political miscalculation and ignoring a base i assumes a trying to reach, the tea party. and the tea partiers and occupiers, who really are a product of this economic want. and the fact is, african-americans did not go to congress and present a two and a half page document asking for a bailout. that was wall street. african-americans are not behind the tea party and occupy movement. we need jobs in america, we need assistance and the fact is it more and more white americans need assistance and no one, no one, wants to stand in line to get relief and the fact is, people really do want jobs. they want to work and they want prosperity and not just a job. >> mr. shelton, finally, very quickly, he said that if the naacp invites them to their meeting he's had the talk about the issues. will you extend an invitation to him?
