I think it really represents the divide in this country between bureaucrats and just regular people out there who feel so disconnected from politicians and their policies so many times. On that note, we know that we have been following the actions of a lot of politicians particularly with respect to covid and a lot of the do as i say, not as i do. We saw it with cuomo. But they combined that with the stick where liberal lawmakers explicitly all of last year threatened these companies and said that if you dont remove that hateful speech, then we are going to come after you, we will be swift and break up these companies. And that carrot, when combined with that stick, there is Good Supreme Court precedent on, this creates state action. And that all that says is that these companies ought to be measured against the standard of the First Amendment just like the state. That doesnt mean all violent content or anything else is permissible under the First Amendment but it does mean these companies are bound by the First Amendment. So you want to protect the rights of these private companies but you also want to protect the freedom of speech rights of individuals on these platforms. I want to ask you though we asked a School Board President for a statement. This is the statement that they gave to announce. The incident that you are referring to hand late last year the district had received several parent complaints and followed up with an investigation after the investigation we believe that the material that was presented in the class was inappropriate. Now, the one ray of light here is it reminds parents that they do have a voice. If they are attuned to what is going on in these classrooms and they make those phone calls, things can change, right . Well, that is very true. Parents of teachers, communities, must stand up together. You know, people are afraid for a really long time or they just didnt pay attention. We must stand up and fight against this. We also have beware of several things. When i read that the statement you just read from the superintendent or principle, whoever it was, i was really uncomfortable with that because, you know, i taught for 28 years and i did teach third graders. To me the big standout is raising the federal minimum wage to 15 an hour while also increasing unemployment. To me, that creates a vice grip. Pressure on both ends of work, productivity, and employment. It makes it very hard for Small Businesses to survives to have 15 minimum wage after months of lockown, so they cant hire with those type of costs but on the other end those looking for a job now have an unemployment rising during this timeframe. We need to help people but we cant create this disincentive, this vice grip on work, productivity and unemployment. Jedediah well also have Business Owners having to explain, yet again, to bureaucrats why raising the minimum wage is a problem for them, why it creates a problem for a lot of their workers, particularly low skilled workers why they wind up being in a position where they have no choice but to let people go, why technology is replacing a lot of employees in locations because employers are saying listen, we have to meet a bottom line and remember, unlike government that collects a lot of tax dollars, they go into the red deep as we know, they have no problem being in massive massive amounts of debt. That doesnt work when you own a business, and when youre operating a small mom and pop shop and that is the means by which you feed yourself, your family, you cant exist in the red. You have to make profit, so, everything needs to be considered like that and im just exhausted frankly when we have these minimum wage discussions im so tired of politicians preaching on this. I really just want to hear from Business Owners and let them lecture politicians because politicians need to hear from people who actually feel the implications of these policies in their daily life, regardless joe biden has come out and talking a lot about what he will do and what he wont do this is a firststep first indication of where i think hes headed and some of that is tuck ing in some progressive policies into titled bills that are like covid relief and then youll see a lot about minimum wage. Its subjective, and it is inconsistent and i think thats whats terribly unfair. Ive been on twitter, since, since 2008. I have been subject to more Death Threats and attacks, incit ement to violence than you can possibly imagine. Never have i ever seen twitter try to take any of that down. Never have i seen them go after attacks on President Trump, or all of these celebrities touting that they want death to the president of the United States, and it only goes one way its the hypocrisy. Its the idea that hey, you can do this on one side of the aisle , but not on the other side of the aisle, and that inconsistency is wrong. Apple has no legal liability under section 230. They have just taken this political position, which is a one way street. It doesnt go both ways. Pete jason, its not even inconsistency because its so consistent and its not even hypocrisy because its so blatant. It just is the standard, so if they can erase an entire platform in parler, whats the recourse for people who love free speech who now happen to be conservative because they love free speech is it section 230, something else, what can actually be done to level this Playing Field . Okay in an email from dianne, once you have been vaccinated can you still be an asymptomatic carrier . You can. It is possible. See the Covid Vaccine will help prevent you from developing severe illness or being hospitalized, but is it possible for you to still be an asymptomatic carrier and spread it to other people . Yes, it is a possibility, even though its a low possibility of that happening. Thats why we say wear your mask and practice social distancing until we can get what we call he rd immunity. Jedediah and im guessing you can also be, this is my question just to add in, you can also be asymptomatic carrier if you have had covid19 and have the antibodies then, same principle . It is a possibility, but the likelihood of that happening is low, because if you had antibodyings, then likely, youre healed or healing from the virus, from the disease, so it is possible, but we need a lot more research, remember this virus has only been around for about a year. Ive actually had patients, for example, they got sick in march of last year, and then they came in again november, december, and they tested positive again after testing negative. Now, for most of them the symptoms were about the same or mild, but everyone is different, so you want to continue to protect yourself, wear your mask, practice social distancing, and when its your turn, get your vaccine, because vaccines ultimately are whats going to save lives.
