What is likely going on there right now in terms of the president s scare and how are those drugs administered . What do you think is going on inside . Well, you know, they did really move him there out of an abundance of caution but also the resources. We built this entire president ial wing of the hospital thats just to take case of the president. Im really familiar with it because i helped design it and build it. It has an area up there thats dedicated to you the president. Allows him to get consult tants from different areas they have consultants from hopkins and nih. Go get together on treatment plan to make sure they are not missing anything. Its convenient to be able to do all of that there they have access to the labs and radiology. Things of that nature and nursing staff. Both. Medications is he getting right now being given iv. They would like to do that in a hospital setting. We can do that certainly at the white house but its much easier to do that with a full nursing staff there at the white house. So he ised in the right place that allows him to get the care that he needs. Get it all consolidated one place and have access to the resources and facility that a hospital would have that the white house just doesnt have. We have pretty robust facility at the white house but nothing compared to what we have at walter reed. Will dr. Jackson, President Trump has taken reportedly a dose of zinc, vitamin d, remdesivir, also had the antibody cocktail regeneron. Talk to us, please, about regeneron and what the physicians around President Trump are trying to accomplish at this moment. Well, the regeneron product is an antibody product. Two money kno they take convalem from patients who have had coronavirus and they go through literally thousands and thousands of antibodies that their body might have made and find the antibodies that seem to be the most specific or most target the virus the best. They found two particular antibodies in the research they did coming up to developing this product. One of them attaches to the spiked protein and prevents the virus from entering into the host cell, the human cell. So what it does basically is it attaches itself to the virus and it disables the virus where it cant get into the body, into the cells of the body and cause infection. And so that essentially drops the viral count. Eventually your body clears those viruses. The other drug that he is taken the remdesivir stops viral replication. When was the last time the president operated from a president ial suite at walter reed . Well, you go back to eisenhower in 1956 when it was an election he was in the hospital for 21 days. It was june. Not this close to the election. I was signing bills from the hospital. That comes to mind something more modern history. Really we have never seen this before. This combination combination of a president leading a pandemic, getting sick, and getting sick this close to an election where his name is on the ballot. So this is very in that sense. Will i heard it mention that president reagan was the last time. He saw the president spend significant time at walter reed. That wasnt for illness that was for assassination attempt. Is that correct the last time a president spending significant time at walter reed . Well, president reagan was at walter reed later after assassination attempt for procedure. But take me back now beyond president reagans situation. Beyond operations. When was the last time we saw a president deal with an illness like this . Can we contextualize exactly what it is in president ial history when we have had to deal with a contagious disease or an illness for the president . Right. So we look at, you know, we have been in a pandemic and last time we had a pandemic like this, was the spanish flu in 1918. And there wilson, president wilson was president , but he wasnt leading this national effort. He didnt even talk about it publicly the spanish flu. We didnt have a cdc. While he was abroad, he got sick with the spanish flu. He was negotiating with european leaders. And his wife helped keep him from keep the disease from everyone. They really concealed it. You are talking about daily testing it makes sense to me on principle you are talking over 500 members of congress. Potentially 20,000 or upward staff members. Is that conceivable to do on a daily basis. You wouldnt do it on a daily basis, i dont think. But, again, and this is the problem. We are not even talking about what would be the appropriate screening, what would be the appropriate screening interval. Would it be after we all came back from our districts . Is there a way to pool samples so you dont consume the amount of consumables in each test . New point of care tests. Again we are not even having the discussion. There is no way to know whats possible. So who needs to approve this . Because, if there is no response from pelosis office, and now you are seeing more and more cases popping up, obviously the president s positive test is going to put this front and center as a key issue, is there someone else that can approve this or can be spoken to if Nancy Pelosis office just declines to comment or assist . But, in consultation with specialists we have elected to initiate remdesivir therapy. He has completed his first dose and resting comfortably. The regeneron antibody therapy is something he got yesterday morning. He has had the remdesivir as well. Those are two experimental drugs. Is he also taking zinc, vitamin d. The overthecounter version of pepcid, melatonin and baby aspirin as part of his regiment. The president walked from the white house out to marine one yesterday about 7 00 for the flight here to walter reed. He waved at the press. Gave the thumbs up, was wearing a mask and did not speak. He had been at walter reed for a while. He tweeted going well, i think,ices clam immigration points. Thank you to all in capital letters. The president is not the only one from the white house who has tested positive. Among other among other prominent republicans senator mike lee, senator thom tillis, hope hicks, rope that mcdaniel of the rnc Kellyanne Conway and the president s Campaign Manager as well. But republicans are going to need to really come up with something here because there is no time thats going to be more important for people to be focused on heck right now than in the middest of a pandemic. Everyone is going to their doctor more. They are seeing those medical bills. Some people are worried about losing their insurance. The president has said he will protect preexisting conditions. Medicare Social Security the president has said he will protect those. It gets political very, very quickly. To play the blame game and pointing fingers is getting out in fronts of the facts which does nobody a service except for those interested in solie partisan viewpoint. So, jedediah, im so thrilled to hear overnight the president is not requiring oxygen. You can guarantee his doctors are monitoring his oxygen levels very closely. It was outstanding to learn that he received regeneron, the extraordinary new drug that has been developed which contains two lines of very specialized antibodies, very distinctly targeted that actually prevent the virus from binding or entering into the body cells. That is exactly what we predicted yesterday when we spoke about this that the doctors are making an effort to cut down the viral load in the president s body. And also the addition of remdesivir which we predicted on this show, too, is the same thing, cutting down the replication. I picket that they ar predict te president a number of times a day. You are a hull monday nothing just. One of the key areas i know people have been face hog get covid19 are lung issues. What are some symptoms . As we know symptoms can change rapidly. What are symptoms that would be warning signs when it comes to the president or anyone for that matter that doctors would say oh, hold on a second, this may be taking a turn that we need to monitor a little more closely. Great question, jed. As you mentioned i took care of these patients at the height of the pandemic when they were already gravely ill. Those patients that i was seeing had had the virus for weeks, if not longer. So, the first concern is not when the patient has no symptoms what the oxygenation is that can be measured in a blood test that can be measured with a finger probe. Thats very important. The radiology is very important. Later the patient may develop some cough. What is very sinister about this illness is it takes a long time for breathlessness to develop and show up. And so patients misleadingly can look well when they are having serious challenges. But, that is when the virus has been allowed to replicate for a very long time. So i think his doctors will be looking, listening to his chest, looking at his images, speaking to him, asking him how he feels and measuring blood work. And theyre watching him extremely closely. With 10 months into the pandemic. So the president has the benefit of our knowledge and being treated with viral suppressants day one onward. Jedediah thankfully for sure. We have talked about it quite a bit as well. I dont know what a National Mask mandate would look like truly. I dont know that that would be enforceable. Every business i know is already requiring people to wear masks inside, so i dont know if he is talking about. Pete protect yourselves or some of those places dont have mask mandates inside businesses there are places in america where its much different. Jedediah the question is though is he talking about indoor or outdoor no. Specificity there whatsoever. I will say when it comes to masks we talk a lot about the science and a lot about the facts. That is what doctors tell people to do right . So i dont wear a mask because i came up with it one day and came up with the idea. Im essentially told by doctors if you are going to be in close quarters with anyone, less than six feet away or a crowded space to put a mask on. That i think, there is some science there in terms of medical advice. We have had many doctors on the show alluded to it as well and given us that very same advice. That, i think is, a little bit of a caveat to that point. Regardless of you who you feel about a National Mask mandate as i think would be unenforceable and a bit odd depending upon circumstance. No question, immediately, when President Trump received this diagnosis and the first lady received this diagnosis, there was a rush on the part of the media to blame President Trump, to certainly form their own opinion of what had happened here and what had gone down before we actually figured out what was going down ourselves. Lets take a look at that montage and see what the media decided in pin one when this diagnosis was made. The sad truth is that we really cant trust at face value what comes out of white house on this. The media has had to learn that people just cant take the president and his team at their word. The president of the United States not only not protecting this country but not protecting the white house. Is also the most vivid possible demonstration of the incompetence and the irresponsibility of the administration. His falsehoods and his lies coming back to bite him. And there was some concern about contact he may have had with other senators. Is this a concern of yours and how do you see this playing out . Well, first of all, there are hearings going on in Congress Every day. We had one yesterday in a select committee im on. Some mexico were there in person. Some members met virtually. Those capabilities have been in place throughout this whole pandemic. You know, one of the things you have got to watch is that as you see democrats going to selected states trying to change state laws not in their legislature but in their courts they are trying to push this election into the courts. If thats the case, then do you really want a 44 Supreme Court . Thats why its so important that as we approach this election, if the democrats continue to push more election decisions into the courts, then that means you need to have courts that are capable of handling case. You dont want a Supreme Court that could be divided in an election like this thats so important. Congressman, remains to be seen how this will unfold. So information we have now regarding the medication he has been given including zinc, vitamin d, remdesivir, that antibody cocktail, fomotadin aspirin. Is this the right treatment on the part of doctors. First and foremost that the president was taken to walter reed is thought surprising by any stretch of the imagination. He was exhibiting signs of covid19. Two, hes the president. Its not as easy just to call 911 for him. And, three, he was given the expremiere mental regeneron cocktail. With that being said, when anyone is given experimental medication we like to watch them closely now that he is walter reed we dont know if he needed in patient hospitalization but out of an abundance of caution he is being monitored there. Since he has been there. He has been given this cocktail in the sense that he has had the antibodies at the white house and now he has been given remdesivir. With remdesivir we know has been proven to shorten Recovery Time from 15 to 11 days in hospitalized patients. He is also being given zinc and vitamin d by Boston University was shown to decrease the mortality rate by about 50 . Is he given foe moat dean like a pepcid a lot of people take this all the time shown to improve outcome and decrease death with covid19. Antiinflammatory and lung oxidant. They are treating him aggressively right now. We would expect none less. The president is being treated at walter reed he is in good hands there over the next few days we will monitor him for his symptoms. Is he progressing . Is he getting worse . Is he Getting Better . They will be looking at his vital signs closely. How is his oxygenation . How is his Blood Pressure doing . If at any point he requires some oxygen to keep that oxygenation up, its possible they may add death mexico dont those steroids we have heard about to his regimen. Its very fluid right now. Its very complex situation i can guarantee they are keeping a close eye on him and he is in good hands. Will what is the expectation for how long the president stays at walter reed . I definitely expect him to stay for at least several more days. Maybe three to five more days. If his symptoms start getting worse he will be there likely longer anywhere from 7 to 14 days. Depends on how he does. The next three to five days are really crucial to see if he is going to be Getting Better with this cocktail or if he is going to maybe get a little bit worse. The president is a very energetic man. He has kept up a very busy schedule obviously. This now effects that schedule. How do you think it then in turn effects the potential election or reelection of President Trump . Well, first of all, everything depends on the president s condition. Does he feel well enough to be an active campaigner if a Virtual Campaigner. Remember, for months, President Trump and a number of republicans mocked joe biden for hiding in his basement, for conducting only a Virtual Campaign. Well now President Trump at walter reed will have to conduct a Virtual Campaign. And you just heard Corey Lewandowski and david bossie talk about plans for video appearances by the president at campaign gatherings. There is no reason he cant do that quite a bit. Even if he is either hospitalized or in quarantine at the white house. So its going to have to be a Different Campaign for him for at least maybe 10 days, maybe two weeks, which is a long time, because we are only a month away from the elections. So, i mean, i think the Vice President ial debate has obvious importance now. Im down to very little time. Half a minute here. I want to ask you unfortunately another perhaps impossible question. How do we think that even plays politically in the left will want to make him a symbol of mismanagement, on the other hand, this also has the potential to attract sympathy to the president. Do you have any insight on how you think this cuts . Well, it absolutely does have a sympathy effect. Look, americans want the president to get better. I mean, there is no doubt that they have they wish the president well in dealing with coronavirus. Now, as far as whether it has a impact or not. I think democrats have to be very careful in blaming the president for catching coronavirus. Because millions of americans have done the same thing and faced the same challenges. So, i think democrats need to be very, very careful. They have a natural instinct to attack, especially in the midst of a president ial campaign. But this is a pretty sensitive subject. Thats right. The state affiliated media organizations in china and indeed in some other authoritarian countries have been gloating about President Trumps sickness and about covid here generally. I mean, you a say, this virus originated in china. I think president xi jinping who doesnt, after all, want the present tension with the United States to escalate any further understands this and they have to tread quite carefully here. We have had now Boris Johnson. We have had bolsonaro the president of brazil. Most importantly President Trump have been laid low by this virus and in some cases quite seriously. Started in china. Whether it started in a lab or wherever else it started it was clear the chinese did not do enough to stop it from spreading early on. So there is a tremendous amount of culpability here for china. They have to be pretty careful before they kind of go around gloating and saying, you know, by the way good example of you who we dealt with the virus and the United States is still dealing with it one of the other have to be pretty careful about that because, again, they are responsible in many ways for this and there are calls already for china to be held accountable for letting this virus get out and do so much damage in the first place. Shawn connley writing im happy to report that the president is doing very well hes not requiring any supplement all oxygen which is a key data point in this disease, but in consultation with specialists we have elected to initiate remdesivir therapy, he has completed his first doseage and is resting comfortably and the remdesivir is in addition to the regeneron antibody therapy, the experimental therapy the president headed and also taking zinc, vitamin d, pepcid, melatonin and aspirin and at about 6 00 he walked across the white house south lawn, didnt stop to talk to the press despite shouted questions and he was wearing a mask, appeared to be in good spirits walked under his own power waived and gave the thumbs up sign. At about midnight or so he tweeted outgoing well i think, thank you to all, love. Many speculating did it go back to predebate preparations last week. Did it have to do with the ceremony at Amy Coney Barretts nomination and we dont know how or when the president acquired coronavirus but were going to try to do this morning is walk through the effects, both health and personally, for President Trump, on the campaign trail and in government. Ronny jackson former white house physician a little bit earlier about the treatments the president is going through and what his stay at walter reed is like here is what he had to say. Both of the medications that hes getting right now are being given iv, so they like to do that in a hospital setting. We can do that certainly at the white house, but its much easier to do that with a full nursing staff there at the white house, so hes in the right place, and that allows him to get the care that he needs, get it all consolidated in one place, and have access to the resources and the facilities that a hospital would have that the white house just doesnt have. We have pretty robust facility at the white house, but nothing compared to what we have up there at walter reed. Pete so very robust facility theres a reason to put him there for precautions. Ill also note we just got word from sources that senator ron johnson of wisconsin has now tested positive for covid19, as well. Thats now three republican senators we wish him the best if we get more developments well bring them to you, but will you mentioned facts. Its hard right now because we really dont have any and i think what the left wing media is going to want to do is say well, it was your responsible conduct of the president. Going out on rallies, not sufficient maskwearing when its just as plausible that through very strict protocol, at the white house, through the rose garden event i was at or at the meetings with amy con ey barrett or at the debate through responsible measures thats where it was contracted, so its difficult right now, to know, but what we do know is that the president is receiving the worlds greatest care, running our country, and we wish him the quickest possible recovery. What the Campaign Looks like, will, to your point, on his end . Thats an open question, but jed joe biden is out there campaign ing. Jedediah yeah, and its important to note that many have been asking why was the president moved to walter reed. Does that suggest that there was some sort of urgency. Its just smart protocol first of all he is the president of the United States and secondly, everyone knows what this virus that symptoms can change very rapidly, and within a few hours, the whole scene can be quite different, so best to have him in a place where he is being monitored very very heavily, and also, just to note, the testing is imperfect. Weve had many doctors on record saying that. Thats why sometimes multiple tests are ordered when it comes to large gatherings that is why the social distancing and mask wearing has been emphasized because the testing is imperfect and even though you have a whole room of people that has been tested questions arise when were they tested and when did they develop symptoms and when was the virus active in their body these are all questions the medical community has been struggling really hard to answer over the past few months with so many people catching this virus throughout the country. Now, the question is how will the campaigns proceed . , and the Trump Campaign has come out and said for right now, for obvious reasons there will be a lot of Virtual Events. Biden has continued campaigning inperson, in michigan. He was seen there yesterday. He was wearing a mask, gave some commentary about President Trump and on policy as well take a listen to some of what he had to say. I know a lot of people around here are tired of feeling overlooked and disrespected. Folks who worry about healthcare , with the Affordable Care act still be there for them why . Why they ask . Will i be among the 100 million americans who could lose the protections for preexisting conditions . What will happen to your medicare benefits . Your Social Security, will they still be there when you retire . We can get this pandemic under control. So we can get our economy working again for everyone. Pete that was the former Vice President yesterday doesnt sound nonpolitical to me people feeling overlooked and disrespected maybe if there was a National Mask mandate and you were forced to wear a mask in places where theres a low infection rate you might feel a little overlooked and disrespect ed as far as pre existing conditions and Social Security the president has made it very clear, hes not going to remove either of those things so this has and will get political very quickly. We had a chance to have Corey Lewandowski and david bossey on the prom earlier two 2020 insiders for President Trump and asked them about what might the campaign trail, we dont want ahead of ourselves we want the president to recover first but there or elsewhere how might his campaign look and here is what they had to say. We just went through this with the lockdown in the spring, right . So the campaign had to transition from a Traditional Campaign that we were doing to a Virtual Campaign, and now, were going to shift back to that, the team are going to be leading that. Hes clearly going to see the president calling into shows doing potentially telephone town hall rallies continuing to communicate. There is no virus stopping this president from continuing to talk to the American People directly. Hes done it so successfully, over the last six years since the campaign started this is not going to stop him at all. Will so the president s campaign continues. The governments of the United States of america continues, and the narrative, unfortunately, continues as well. Pete you brought up how little we know, in terms of facts right now but that doesnt stop many from crafting a story, and the story right now is to attempt to play the blame game. The blame game ahead of where the facts can lead you. I want to give you a sampling of whats being said across the media landscape right now. The sad truth is that we really cant trust at face value what comes out of the white house on this. The media has had to learn that people just cant take the president and his team at their word. The president of the United States not only not protecting this country but not protecting the white house. It is also the most vivd possible demonstration of the in competence and the in responsibility of the administration. His falsehoods and his lies coming back to bite him. President trump, now in quarantine, has become a symbol of his own failures. Will that is an illustration of in competence and in responsibility when it comes to journalism here is why. We dont know how President Trump acquired the coronavirus. Hes a symbol of nothing at this moment other than the obvious infectiousness of coronavirus. Did he get it while not wearing a mask . Would a mask have prevented it . Would he have been protected 100 . Jedediah you point out the testing is not 100 fool proof youre absolutely right and by the way neither are masks we can told that thought in our head while understanding masks are a good recommendation and the better preventive requirements but we have to understand right now we do not know how the president acquired this there for its inappropriate to play the blame game, and, it comes with Political Risk to do so if the left chooses to go down the road of blaming those who acquire coronavirus. Byron york warned people, warned the left about that a little bit earlier this is fascinating listen to this. Americans want the president to get better. Theres no doubt that they wish the president well in dealing with coronavirus. I think democrats have to be very careful in blaming the president for catching coronavirus because millions of americans have done the same thing and faced the same challenges, so i think democrats need to be very very careful. They have a natural instinct to attack, especially in the midst of a president ial campaign, but this is a pretty sensitive subject. Jedediah yeah, and i think, will, you bring up an interesting point about the blame game and there are obviously people that will be rushing with baited breath to no matter what blame the president , who will want to see him lose the election that is the agenda. There are also people who i think from a Public Health perspective are going to come in and just ask questions. You know, ask questions about rallies, ask questions about large crowds. I asked the same questions about the large gathering of protester s in manhattan through the city streets and whether or not that was wise in the midst of a pandemic as i asked about the rallies so i think thats just an important point, not for political reason, but just because this is a virus that were learning about every day and the goal is to mitigate the spread, right . So if we learn something new that can help us to do that better, next week, than we did last week, then lets implement it. Lets figure it out and work on it so thats where that angle comes from for some, not for all but for some for sure myself included. I think that its very interesting what hes getting and you can make a case for each thing. The remdesivir that was added has been shown in a study in the new england journal of medicine to decrease the amount of time it takes to recover by about three days in over 1,000 patients. Thats in people that have moderate illness. Now, thats another reason he would have gone to the hospital by the way, jed because its administered intravenously and a close friend of his who spoke to him last night said that the president told me that the president was feeling well, a little tired, and kind of bothered he had to go to the hospital but he felt he could work there. Even when hes tired he has more energy than a lot of people. Some of the other cocktails hes getting there, pepcid, the stomach medication, looks like in some studies that it decreases the risk of having severe covid19, maybe because covid19 does better in an acid environment were not sure. Zinc seems to decrease viral spread. The monoclonal antibodies he got are in the experimental stage but a study some information out just last week shows that it too decreases the amount of virus. Now the less virus you have the less likely youre going to have severe complications. Will dr. Siegel, what do you expect the 72 hours the next couple days to being loo like for the president . How long do you expect him to be in the hospital . I think its going to be observational. I fully expect him to be in the hospital for several days dont forget he has a working office suite in the hospital there its precautionary. Monitoring his oxygen level a good sign hes not taking oxygen right now, per his physician thats a really good sign but thats something that needs to be monitored and also the risk of blood clots and to speak to something that was just said before i came on, this is not a time for political divisiveness this is a time to bring out the best in people to wish well the commanderinchief and the president. Well the Biden Campaign as has the entire democratic slate for many many months now, been very conservative as theyve approached how theyre campaigning particularly with the public in light of this very unknown pandemic, so the way that the campaign is behaving is no different today than it was five days ago than it was 10 days ago. Ppe has been worn by all key members, all volunteers. Biden, as you saw, wore a mask up on to the debate stage and everybody representing the Democratic Team and the audience in cleveland was also wearing a mask, so nothings really changed in terms of strategy overall because weve known theyve known all along how deadly and dangerous this was. Jedediah yeah, well jenna nothing may have changed in terms of strategy when it comes to health and ppe but something has definitely changed in terms of approach because joe biden wasnt doing these inperson events and now theres talk the biden camp will resume door knocking i dont know if thats accurate or you can lend any color to that today, but that would definitely be a change so the question is why . Was there some sense that there was something missing . Is there some concern that voter s havent been properly reached out to . Why the change . I think its just a real opportunity to make sure that voters understand why this administration is not working on the benefit of all americans, whether it be because of taxes whether it be because of covid and these constant left and right turnings around how were approaching the subject, and so because the Biden Campaign hasnt been changing any of their conservative safety base tactics, theyre comfortable going out to communities and the way that theyre doing that is theyre texting constituents in battleground states giving them a heads up since theres a knockon their door, volunteers are being tested through temperature checks, symptom checks before they actually hit the streets, so theres proper distance being used, long form conversation i would argue is well beyond the six foot distance but this has nothing to do with whether or not theyre concerned about whats happening coming november 3. I think this is just holding the line and making sure americans are hearing the right message. Jedediah well jenna, all of these Safety Measures that are being utilized and i commend them, could have been utilized before right . All of these things could have been implemented so the question is why wait . If it was important to get that message about healthcare, or about taxation, or whatever it may be to voters, was that importance not there a few months ago when the Trump Campaign was taking a very strong lead in getting out and talking about those very issues youre citing to voters in person . Sorry just to be clear, im referencing trumps not paying taxes or paying 750 in taxes, or the sudden turn on how hes relating to covid and its suddenly a thing that hes been diagnosed. But on any issue, on any issue if were going to say its important to bring the issues to voters and i think both campaign s will argue this its true then by why was that urgency not there a few months ago. Because the Biden Campaign built out a smart Virtual Campaign so many constituents were being talked to. The Biden Campaign knows whose showing up and they are very much focusing on the key zip codes and current potential swing voters and that transition now that they know exactly who those people are, has to be within a 1012foot radius now, it cant just be on a hey, come and have a zoom conversation with us. So its because they have gotten so much smarter that they understand exactly where those people are and so they are going to them inperson and i would also say theres been increasing science that has come out about covid. It is clear now that if you wear a mask the risk of contracting covid at a six foot, 10foot or even further 20foot radius you know that the risks are decreased, so when biden was being conservative before, its because they might not have had the same information that they do today. Jedediah yeah. Yeah, and i still think that its clear though as to whether that delay in terms of outreach to voters will have an impact and well see. Here with a very packed panel we have congressman tom rice, Morgan Griffith and Mario Diaz Balart joining me now gentlemen thank you all for being here, youve all tested positive for coronavirus, congressman diaz, well start with you tell me about your experiences really quickly and maybe how we might learn from you what the president is going through. Look, i had three weeks where i felt horrible. I had a low grade fever for , again about two and a half weeks , and the first four or five days were the worst, where i had a more intense fever feeling pretty bad but ill tell you all i worked through the process. I didnt stop working i was on the phone obviously, and so i was able to keep working i was able to still do the job that i was required to do. Will congressman rice, tell me. Were wondering right now, where did the president acquire coronavirus . That takes a lot of effort in contact tracing, and really doing some investigative work. Were you able, ever, to figure out where you contracted coronavirus . No i really wasnt. I suspect it was from my son who had been out to a restaurant in the recent. We were pretty isolated up until the time that i got it. I want to say though, that you know, the president is out around a lot of people and im glad that my commanderinchief is not hiding in his basement in fear of this , when he expects First Responders to go to work, im glad that a real leader does what he expects other people to do as well. Will and congressman gomert, all four of you having acquired coronavirus, i understand are asking for greater testing on capitol hill. Youd like to see Speaker Pelosi implement greater testing is that moving forward . Where are you on that process . Well im not so sure about more testing, because thats what Speaker Pelosi had been demanding for months and now that were getting it, and were finding out theres tons of people that have had it and that are asymptomatic now theyre saying this president is doing a horrible job, look at all of the people that are getting it. Well they probably were getting it before, we just didnt know. Whats important is to know if you have it, if you suspect youve got symptoms then check. Now i was fortunate to have caught it very early on, simply because i was going on air force one with the president , if i hadnt had it but and the hydroxychloroquine regimens helped a lot and i think the president with what he is taking the cocktail hes taking, he knows that a lot of doctors will not prescribe acq even though its safer than iboprofen so i think hes trying to set an example, but more testing is not the answer, i dont think. Contract tracing as some doctors have said once you hit over 1 Million People with it you arent able to Contact Trace everything. You just need to be careful and especially not spread it to people that have co morbidity, and preexisting conditions. Those are people we need to really protect. Will let me go around the horn really quickly on this out of curiosity i asked congressman rice real quick back to you, congressman. Did you find out were you ever able to narrow down where you acquired coronavirus . No, there was no way to know i mean, im all over my district will right. I could have got it from anywhere. I found it interesting i got it at a time where i was wearing a mask more than i had in the preceding months and i really dont know. Will what about you congressman griffith . I havent yet asked you, what was your experience and do you know where you acquired coronavirus . I had fairly mild symptom, a fever for about a day and then i was fatigued for maybe about a week and i dont know where i got coronavirus. I was wearing my mask fairly regularly. The only time that i didnt was when i was speaking at a microphone and yet, i got it, and it was interesting the people who were there with me at the press conference did not get it, but i was wearing my mask most of the time and have no idea where i got it from and ill tell you this , echoing what tim rice was saying. Bottom line is this president , President Trump will do more work while in quarantine than joe biden not being in quarantine. Will well all four of you have obviously spent a lot of time on capitol hill and around the president. Ill go back to you congressman diaz. Are you surprised with all of the testing around the president , all of the protective measures put in place around the president , that it seems like not just him but many in his circle are now coming down with coronavirus . Are you surprised that we are where we are . Look the president and his team are exceedingly careful but i will tell you that i was exceedingly careful when i got it. I have no idea, you know, who gave it to me. I got it when i was in d. C. Early on and so the key here is to be careful, to use common sense, and not panic, but be as careful as possible, particularly when youre around people who have preexisting conditions who might be susceptibile to this , again, where this is more dangerous, but common sense. It be ludacris to have a national, for example, mask mandate because there are huge differences in different geographic areas but being careful, using common sense, protecting those who are vulnerable is i think the best thing we can do to make sure that the country moves forward. Will one of the obvious big implications from this and the fall out from the coronavirus has been the Economic Impact across this country from the shutdowns and the Unemployment Rate and many on capitol hill have been working on passing a covid19 or extending the covid19 relief package. Congressman rice where are we on this . It doesnt seem to be moving forward were looking at furloughs at least in the Airline Industry right in the face, where are we on relief i think Speaker Pelosi should have us in washington until we get this relief package passed. Every day americans are struggl ing, Small Businesses struggling to survive, and we need to do what we can to nullif y that Economic Impact. I think its a shame she sent us all home yesterday. We should be in washington working with the white house and with the senate to get this resolved and until we get a package that helps Small Businesses. Will hopefully. And take the politics out of it and just work on whats going to help American Families instead of insisting on making political points. What is the biggest takeaway from the news that the president has acquired coronavirus, many on the left play the blame game about masks and rallies or whatever they want to pin the blame on but as you look at this situation, what is the biggest takeaway . What does it tell you about where we sit in the United States right now . Well that anybody can get it , and those that are making fun of him, theres a good chance that they could get it as well and so it is just to be smart and i think the cocktail i was taking, non alcoholic was very helpful, but just be careful. When i was capable of spreading it i was exceedingly careful and we need to do that as well, if you suspect you got it, then for heavens sake, get tested they will test you if you think you may have it and then you dont spread it around. I had people sending messages, you know, whatnot, but apparently whoever they prayed to is not as strong as the god of healing, but were in this together. Yearoveryear wages grew 5. 6 , thats a phenomenonal number. What i didnt like obviously where over 200,000 people in government losing their jobs and i think more worrisome for me too might be people are leaving the labor force almost 700,000, 4. 4 million since february. So were getting this sort of bifurcated thing where 92 of people who are looking o r want to work are working but these other folks are in predicaments where they are in lockdown states their businesses are closed right now forever, and they are sort of in limbo, so overall is one of the best jobs reports we ever had, but its slowing from some of the other jobs reports since the pandemic began. This week, this week, disney, weve got to lay off 28,000 people because the state of california wont let us reopen. You got to do what you got to do disney has to lay off that many people you can imagine how many Small Businesses are going out of business for good, every single day. So the most important thing for the economy, the most important thing for the stock market is if we get news on monday, that somehow congress got its act together, and pushed through one more fiscal nudge, because what weve done, what weve seen with this economic re bound is nothing short of miraculous it really is, but its starting to run out its theme.
