people were hurt. this morning another wound of severe weather is expected. maria molina is tracking the storm for us. >> a little early in the season typically we start to see the peak of the severe weather season in the months of april, may and also june. a little early. we saw over 200 reports of severe weather yesterday in the storm system in the overnight hours and more than 10 of them were reported tornadoes. we saw activity from the gulf coast to the midwest. we see more damaging winds more large hail and possible tornadoes anywhere in parts of northeastern florida through jackson virl the carolinas and mid atlantic. you will be seeing severe storms moving through. you can see areas of heavy rain impacting parts of eastern tennessee and georgia. that line of showers and storms will hit the entire east. we could still be looking at heavy downpours. on the cold side blizzard warnings in effect in south earn minnesota and iowa. gusts 40 miles per hour are possible through out the morning hours today. blowing drifting snow is huge concern and several more inches of snow expected. snow totals anywhere between 6 and 12 inches. locally there will be higher amounts. >> that's a lot this evening. that would be east across parts of kentucky, tennessee and parts of georgia. it will be slow for you early this morning out there. you are going to need an umbrella. if you live in the areas have a way to get the weather warnings. you get a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning issued to your area. otherwise further north and west as we have winter warnings associated with this same storm system. it is producing significant snowfall totals out here between 6-12 inches expected. the national weather service added another statement to some of these advisories are stating that roads are reportedly blocked by grids in parts of southeast minnesota and portions of iowa. no travel advised out here. please be safe and several more inches of snow expected today. gusts to 45
