He will be choppered to the summer residence for popes and he will spend a few months there until his permanent quarters in the vatican are fully refurbished. He will be living in a monastery with a small group of his trusted aids and nuns who have been with him through out his time here in the vatican. Now yesterday of course was the last day the last time we got to hear a general audience from Pope Benedict xvi. It was outside saint peters on the square because there were so many people who wanted to be there. A lot of people are continuing to rehash the speech that he made many saying it was so unusual in that it was terribly personal he spoke about his decision to step down from the post and he talked about the gravity of that decision and the novelty of it.
